Like how you called linda park pretty. usually many women of color are never recognised for their great beauty in comparison to their white counterparts. she is korean, sadly now with nu trek, the show is obsessed with making women of color very ugly and masculine. look at the new uhura from strange new worlds, she is made to look like a man and is very unattractive. a far cry from the iconic nichelle nichols from TOS, Who became a ground breaking female character. so just want to say from a star trek fan thank you for praising the beauty of women of colour.

nearly oc-tober time again - time for some prompts for 2024
F.A.Q
do i have to draw?
not at all! you are free to participate with any medium that suits you... writing, artwork, free bases and templates, simple text posts, in-character-as-your-oc roleplay, whatever! (just no stealing or AI)

Hey, am I overreacting or do some of the videos on the youtube channel @/FactsByBriggs contain ai generated images?
Here's the link to the channel if you need it: https://youtube.com/@factsbybriggs?si=QC-lGMhM9239_g5C
I don't usually tackle cases that are on youtube, but for the sake of investigating whether or not something is ai generated I'll do it.
(FUTURE A2T HERE: THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG ONE.)
Aaaaand right out of the gate I see AI.
Tumblr media
However, I can't call this ai trash just because they generate art from ai.
The real deciding factor would involve a few things:
Does this channel tell people that some of the pictures are ai generated?
Does this channel credit any images they use online?
Are they using ai to mislead and/or farm content solely for monetization purposes?
Only one way to find out.
Tumblr media
Ok, so right out of the gate, we don't see any links to images.
Tumblr media
This guy also has a lot of socials.
....And a LinkedIn for some reason.
Let's put a pin on that for now.
What do the videos have to offer?
Ok. So we got an ai voice, an avatar that reeks of content farm garbage, and an image that has not been credited.
We're off to a good start. (in case you couldn't tell, that was sarcastic.)
What they didn't do is crop the url that is above, so we know the art got taken from somewhere.
Luckily, we have Google Lens.
Tumblr media
That image is from @yuumei-art.
They took that image and did not credit where the image was from.
But, it gets better. IT'S NOT THE ONLY ONE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's even some where they even left the artist's signature! Not once, but twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to answer your question, fellow anon, yes. They do use ai generated imagery as well.
Tumblr media
This channel is generating images or taking images from the internet for their videos.
No, this is not me hypothesizing. This is what they are actually doing.
I know this because in one video, they use a stock image with the watermark still intact.
Tumblr media
But let's take a step back for a mo'. We need to investigate that LinkedIn account.
Tumblr media
I have no idea why they have this account here. Like, at all.
LinkedIn is a job hunting website, not TikTok!
Tumblr media
The link they have goes back to their Linktree.
Another thing to point out is that they have a Kofi page.
Well, BuyMeACoffee.
Same difference.
Tumblr media
There doesn't seem to be anyone supporting that page.
Looking at this channel some more, this doesn't seem to be a content farm.
It has the stench of one, for sure. But it's also responding to comments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Feeling like I've hit a dead end, I dropped "Facts by Briggs" on google.
That's when I learned that Facts By Briggs actually has a tumblr page.
....It's just not advertised on the Linktree.
And they have their own tumblr domain.
....wait, tumblr domains cost 22 bucks (18.02 pounds sterling in the UK). Isn't Briggs struggling with financial stuff?
...Something's not adding up.
They reblog posts from a London Hip-Hop DJ and Rapper by the name of CANMKING.
Tumblr media
I was going to let this fact pass. But...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yes, he is a real guy.
Tumblr media
But let's get back on topic.
What's even stranger is that Can isn't the only one of the usual suspects that replies.
Tumblr media
ctkvi, the people that made an album cover for Can.
They too have a linktree and a tumblr domain.
They also do ai video and music work.
And upon investigating those guys...
Tumblr media
"Instagram Growth Service"?
Ok, the LinkedIn accounts are starting to make sense.
Let's tackle that monstocity another day, because it looks pretty daunting.
As for the avatar...
Tumblr media
Google Lens saved me again, and that led me to Adobe Express.
Tumblr media
And lookie here!
It's Briggs!
Tumblr media
And considering that its a part of the Adobe Express ecosystem, I can probably infer that the whole video is made on Adobe Express.
Along with some of the other projects that CANMKING has done.
"Riley Frankcap"
Tumblr media
Yes. This man made another one.
Better yet, Can has a total of 6 accounts.
And they reply to all of his stuff.
Tumblr media
ongawdclub is the oldest of the alts, going as far back as December 2021, but Can has been on tumblr since 2011.
...
Huh. Looks like this case does involve this fellow hellsite after all.
Ok that's enough rabbit hole digging for today. Also I've hit the image limit on this post. Needless to say, there's a whole lot to unpack.
TL;DR:
Yes, Facts by Briggs is a content farm.
Yes, it uses ai art. BUT...
It also uses images off the internet and doesn't credit artists.
Briggs himself is not an original creation, but an avatar that you can easily use on Adobe Express. It's probably how most of the videos were created.
Facts by Briggs has a lot of social media accounts, as seen on their Linktree, including one on LinkedIn and one on a Kofi-like site.
What Facts by Briggs doesn't have on the Linktree is a tumblr. One that has a domain. This goes against what was said in the Kofi, which states that they are struggling with money.
Facts by Briggs reblogs posts by a London hip-hop dj/rapper named CANMKING.
CANMKING replies and reblogs numerous posts by Facts by Briggs, along with five other accounts (reallysmalls, ongawdclub, needgoodgraphics, ctkvi, and rileyfrankcap (A news based content farm). Facts by Briggs also replies to posts made those five accounts. CANMKING is the oldest account out of the total seven, so we assume that the six are sockpuppets that astroturf his tumblr posts.
ctkvi deals with ai video and audio, and needgoodgraphics has a service that, and I'm probably guessing here at the moment, artificially boosts your instagram account by astroturfing it.
TL;DR for the TL;DR:
CANMKING is a rapper/dj from London who uses sock puppets, astroturfing, bots, content farms, and straight up kofi scams to gain success.
...and he made those content farm videos all in Adobe Express.
To prove it, I reverse engineered a Facts by Briggs video.
Mostly.... I know Facts by Briggs uses ai voices... but I don't want to make another account just to access the ai voice add-on. So I used the legendary "Why You Lying?" instead.
I only found one post that talks about CANMKING's scamming efforts, but they've only scratched the surface.
If any of you have any more info about CANMKING that's not listed up here, do let me know.

tumblr in reddit terms
blogs: personal subreddits where the theme/topic is 99% of the time just ā€œme and whatever the hell i feel like at the momentā€. for reference, the most common other theme rn is ā€œwizard roleplay that never breaks characterā€
reblogs: crossposts. these are crucial to maintaining tumblrā€™s ecosystem. due to blogs generally having fewer followers than subreddits have subscribers, this is the way that posts get seen and passed around. the vast majority of posts on a personā€™s blog tend to be reblogs, so if the people you follow dont reblog a whole lot, your dashboard is gonna be a ghost town. post limit (combined total of reblogs and original posts per day) is 250, so feel free to go hog wild
tags: this one is complicated. theyre a combination of flairs and Comments But Low-key. you can use them for organization and to avoid seeing content you dont want to (go to your blog, settings, account settings, content you see, and then add tags you want tumblr to warn you about before seeing it). if op tags the post #reddit (in the tags, not the body of the post), itll show up in the #reddit tag when anyone searches that tag. tags are also used for comments that dont really add anything to the post. you know how a jpeg gets kinda gross when its been through a million screenshots and has ifunny watermarks and shit? thats what adding ā€œlmao sameā€ as a comment does to a post. comments stay on reblogs, while tags show up in 4 places: opā€™s notifications, the notifs of whoever you reblogged it from, when someone clicks on theĀ ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½notesā€ button of a post and actively looks for the tags left on it, and when people view your specific reblog of the post (like a follower would on their dashboard)
likes: upvotes but weaker. almost everyone turns off all the algorithms (settings, account settings, dashboard preferences, toggle off the first 3 options. also, make sure your dashboard is on "following" and not "for you". this is highly recommended), so leaving a like doesnt boost the post in any way. they still matter to some people. you can also use them to bookmark a post and go back to your likes later
enthusiastic and/or hyperbolic tags: reddit gold. you wanna let op know you like their art? leave something like ā€#printing this out and stapling it to my forehead #op you wanna get married?ā€ in the tags
pornbots: both reddit and tumblr have an issue with them. we block and report them on sight. they usually have hot women as their icons, no posts or reblogs, and a description like ā€œ22, brazil, nurse <3ā€³. try to not look like that if you dont wanna get blocked by everyone you follow
blocking: you have this as well, but it seems like a bigger deal on reddit. the reason we are not twitter is because we block bitches who annoy us and move on with our day. do not feed the trolls
things we dont have:
karma: clout-chasing is The Most embarrassing thing you can possibly do on this site. we are all in this circus together and the clown who gets the most laughs is still a clown. popular users will literally deactivate sometimes because clout is a burden. no one here makes money

Lmfaooo what a week šŸ˜…
So a lot of people are, understandably, leaving the fandom. Drama like this always tends to put people off and unfortunately that affects the media theyā€™ve come to love. Iā€™m not going to be one of those people bc honestly, I donā€™t even know if I was ever that ā€œinā€ the fandom in the first place to even leave it. My account isnā€™t and never was a nevermore account, yes Iā€™ve made a few nevermore post but those were infrequent and amongst posts and reblogs of multiple other fandoms. Iā€™m also in the discord server but Iā€™ve only ever been a lurker, and usually only ever go in it when I want more context to something Iā€™ve seen on tumblr. With that being said however, I still plan on reading nevermore when (or if) it continues because in THIS particular instance I can easily separate art from the artist and Iā€™ll explain why in a moment.
Like I said Iā€™m not and never have been very active in the fandom. I learned about this drama through a post from an account I follow and went through the server to find more context. I was not present through any of the actual conflicts but Iā€™ve seen the conversations.
So why am I commenting on this?
Well mainly I want to make a point about para social relationships as well as moderation of servers and fandoms as a creator.
I just want to preface this by saying that after reading through all possible context, perspectives, takes and evidence I could find or come across, I genuinely donā€™t think red is necessarily a bad/morally wrong person. I DO however think she is in the wrong in this situation especially due to how she handled everything. As for how a lot of people are reacting to everything, thereā€™s a couple of things Iā€™d like to note:
From what Iā€™ve seen, all of this is just one big thing of ā€œhe said/she saidā€ and pointing fingers as well as just picking sides. If your absolutely distraught because red didnā€™t turn out to be the person you thought they were simply because she said things you didnā€™t like, I understand the disappointment and frustration but please remember that content creators in general arenā€™t your friends. You donā€™t know these people, they just do things you happen to like. Now Iā€™m not saying you SHOULDNā€™T feel upset about it, itā€™s ok to and you even should if itā€™s an issue to you feel strongly about but please keep in mind that this isnā€™t a ā€œsign of their true colorsā€ or anything because you donā€™t know what they were actually like to begin with. Ofc I donā€™t mean that to say ā€œexpect the worst from peopleā€ but more as a reminder that can hopefully help you to look at the situation more critically and logically before jumping in guns blazing. Itā€™s understandable if it affects you emotionally, you were emotionally invested in their work; but please realize this before you let it get to that point. Now on the other side of the coin, thereā€™s the people who I feel as though will just pick the creators side simply because theyā€™re fanboys and will stand by them no matter what. Iā€™m DEFINITELY NOT saying thatā€™s what everyone whoā€™s on red side is, but naturally thereā€™s bound to be a few that are going to dickride for the sake of dickriding. Regardless, thereā€™s a lack of willingness to listen and understand from both sides (at least from what Iā€™ve noticed) and thatā€™s a problem because when no one wants to listen then whatā€™s supposed to be a community coming together to resolve an issue just turns into a giant flame war. Also this should go without saying, but at least give the mods a chance. They obviously handled the whole situation horrendously but they arenā€™t going to do their jobs any better when theyā€™ve got people coming at them with pitchforks.
Speaking of the moderators. I genuinely canā€™t wrap my head around how red and the other mods have managed to fumble this badlyā€¦ā€¦.like itā€™s almost funny. All said and done they all had ONE very simple job and they blew it. Although I very much disagree with it, I do understand redā€™s decision to unban crimson. They wanted to give them a second chance, sure whatever. What I DONT GET is why would they not at the very least check to see if anyone else would be comfortable with a decision that would possibly affect them or even impact their safety. At the very least a warning to or a discussion with the victims would have been something. Not only that but even after they unban them, once red saw the NUMEROUS amount of people that were upset about it they, they should have immediately banned them again and then apologize after instead of some rushed explanation. But I get it stress gets the better of you. I understand their desire to keep things as transparent as possible (which i appreciate and Iā€™m sure so do many others) but from that first apology/explanation it felt more like red trying to shake responsibility off themselves and pointing fingers in the guise of being transparent. I did see where red was trying to get at in her first statement, but there was also things that she honestly should have just had the foresight to realize wouldnā€™t put her in a better light, and this is aside from the victim blaming-esque wording. red basically says that she felt like a group of people (including Laci the one who reported crimson) were just out to get crimson, which is absolutely insane but then again itā€™s the internet so who knows. However itā€™s super clear that Laci obviously wasnā€™t lying bc the things she accused crimson of did in fact happen. So even bringing that up was enough for me to raise my eyebrow at but I digress. Then red practically says it was hard to handle the situation bc the evidence provided was censored, but Laci literally offered to give the uncensored versions so that was completely disingenuous on redā€™s part at best. To me it just seemed like the mods were looking for excuses for what could be there own laziness at best and negligence at worst. Their biggest fault so far is not being very good at actually listening to their audience and taking them into consideration. She also brought up that fact that Laci was apparently the only person to report crimson which I did not like to say the least. One of the victims confided in Laci and Laci brought it forward. I understand reds suspicions about Laci not being in the actual server where it happened but how are you going to immediately jump to ā€œwell why did no one else bring it upā€ instead of stopping for a sec and thinking ā€œ hm clearly these victims feel uncomfortable stepping forwardā€. Which they had to do now anyway because of how bad the issue became. They should not have had to do that. Better it be just one person reporting, even if itā€™s someone you donā€™t like, than no one reporting and the issue persists under the radar.
And then thereā€™s redā€™s formal apologyā€¦
First off, girl why are you dropping names??? A bunch of who are supposedly minors? Like letā€™s be so fucking for real right nowšŸ˜
And then the audacity to be like ā€œplease donā€™t go after or dm these peopleā€ like babes if you were genuinely worried about them you wouldnā€™t have used their names at all. ESPECIALLY when in the end it was completely irrelevant and borderline inappropriate since it really had nothing to do with crimson, their actions or how you handled them. Not to mention the act of calling them ā€œcliquesā€ when literally all they were was side servers. Like if theyā€™re cliques then what does that make red and everyone whoā€™s on her side? It was very clearly just a biased reaction to people saying things she doesnā€™t like about her, which by all means she has the right to respond to but not in a way that is clearly trying to sway how everyone else sees them. The way red describes everything is as if itā€™s middle school drama and then proceeds to play directly into it. Donā€™t get me wrong her apology was fine, when she was ACTUALLY apologizing. Everything else felt like a last ditch effort to drag others under the bus with her. It was lowkey embarrassing to say the least.
Again, itā€™s important that I make it clear that I donā€™t believe red is a bad person. I just think sheā€™s an immature person, or at least she is in how she handled everything and continues to handle it bc like I said I donā€™t know her, and donā€™t care to frankly. I didnā€™t start reading nevermore to be buddy buddy with her. Like if we look at the grand scope of things, this is a grown woman beefing with kids. Obviously they arenā€™t all kids, most of them arenā€™t I believe but sheā€™s practically stooping down to school yard conflict in how sheā€™s responded so far. Especially at one point in the server when she was being called out and jumped to ā€œyeah I guess Iā€™m the bad guy and totally evil. You all should hate meā€. Like actually cut that shit out, what are you doing. I mean honestly.
And my final point because Iā€™ve ranted long enough. I mentioned before that in this instance I am willing to separate the art from the artist, I stand by that because I genuinely do think this is a situation where red could hopefully grow from this and rectify things. The actual unbanning was a stupid and inconsiderate move on her part, but I donā€™t think she meant any ill-will or had any malicious intent. I disagree with the people calling her a r@pe apologist because thatā€™s honestly just a huge reach. Iā€™ve also seen some accusations of red and/or Flynn being racist, promoting inappropriate art knowing thereā€™s minors around and from what Iā€™ve seen itā€™s pretty iffy. Regarding the racism, I donā€™t believe that they are. Their characterizations of the characters regarding their ethnicities IS stereotypical and was obviously just very surface level research into those respective cultures but I chopped that up to ignorance rather than racism. As a woc I was frankly just relived they didnā€™t make the poc characters centered on some kind of discrimination or tragedy from their era, which yes is something that shouldnā€™t be ignored but also I donā€™t know if rednflynn could accurately and more importantly, respectfully portray those types of issues. Nor is it even their place tbh. With that being said however I donā€™t belong to most of the cultures the characters belong to. To me it never seemed like they were making a caricature out of these cultures, especially since their ethnicities are barely relevant to their stories anyway but I acknowledge that itā€™s not my place to deem whatā€™s offensive or not.
As for the promoting inappropriate art of the characters and creating some themselves. Yeah they do. Iā€™ve never been shocked about that nor did I think it was something that they are wrong for doing, I mean itā€™s their own work. Granted I didnā€™t realize how many minors were in the fandom but thatā€™s literally every fandom, thereā€™s only so much you could do about it. I donā€™t know if nevermore has a rating but itā€™s not like it was something ever promoted to be kid friendly, itā€™s obvious that some scenes are just straight up fan service. While I personally donā€™t like fan service it never was enough to impact the story so I personally never saw an issue. But point is I donā€™t think they should have to monitor what is and isnā€™t appropriate for minors but things get tricky when they have a server where they are clearly aware of minors.
And then thereā€™s other things like people accusing them of promoting SA or some shit like that bc of a lot of stuff involving Montessor which frankly, thatā€™s just a media literacy issue on the readers part. So yeah with that being said I donā€™t think red is a bad person, although I understand why a lot of people are done with them which is completely fair. Iā€™m pretty much in a grey area about it, who knows if they end up getting in an even bigger scandal, hopefully they come out better from this but only time will tell. The best/smartest thing red has said throughout this entire debacle was that theyā€™re taking a step back from the fandom. I think itā€™ll be good for everyone, especially them. It seems like itā€™ll take stress off them anyway. Plus the hole theyā€™ve dug for themselves is already halfway to china by now so thereā€™s that

[Megapost] Online Resources For Fiber Arts
Hi y'all! Local crazy lady librarian n' crafter here! I am one of those people who loves collecting resources and to that end I created my Weird Wonderful Web spreadsheet many moons back (which is an ever updating project btw) which is a spreadsheet of useful, interesting, wacky, old school, unique, or just plain delightful gems on the internet. For the purposes of this post I decided to pull out all of the fiber arts related resources (+ I added some new stuff just for this post that will make it on the sheet eventually)
Today, I am here to share with you collection of useful resources online for embroidery, cross stitch, sewing, knitting, and crochet. If you have any useful sites that you know of that I didn't share here I'd love to know! Reblog or comment and share!
Without further ado:
Sewing
@fatmascā€™s google drive of sewing resources ā€“ā€“ lots of sewing resources in one gDrive folder
Dagraeveā€™s Jedi Robe Pattern ā€“ā€“ sew a simple jedi robe for a costume!
Vincent Briggsā€™ tutorials on making fabric covered buttons (18th century style!) ā€“ā€“ what it says on the tin. Knitting/Crochet
Ravelry ā€“ā€“ if youā€™re not new to crochet or knitting you probably have already heard of Ravelry, but I figured Iā€™d stick it here because if youā€™re brand spanking new you might not have heard of it. You need to create an account but you can download free patterns or purchase patterns on Ravelry. The other main thing you can do with your Ravelry account is to use it to keep track of your projects in your ā€œjournalā€ where you can put notes, a list of the yarns used, the hooks/needles you used, etc. and continue to update the project as you go along. Because I am a person who starts a project and completely forgets about it for like 2 months, I love my Ravelry journal because I put down the yarn I used, the hook I used and the stitch counts for the last row that I crocheted. Nifty!
Left handed Knitting from LeftyKnits ā€“ā€“ short, sweet videos on knitting for lefties posted 16 years ago. All are less than 2 minutes long and cover a single micro topic!
Rowbotā€™s Knitting Videos ā€“ā€“ similarly old knitting videos that are short, sweet and to the point from 10+ years ago.
thecrochetside crocheting videos ā€“ā€“ short, sweet and to the point crochet videos from 15+ years ago. Right handed mostly.
Internet Archiveā€™s Collection of Knitting Magazines ā€“ā€“ collection of knitting magazines that can be viewed online via IA from a variety of time periods. Some magazines also contain crochet and a few crochet magazines are buried in the mix. Magazines contain patterns and project ideas.
Bella Diaā€™s ā€œvintageā€ style vertical stripe crochet blanket pattern ā€“ā€“ photo tutorial for crocheting a vertical striped multi-color blanket.
General:
findoldvideo.com ā€“ā€“ for those who werenā€™t on YouTube 12+ years ago, you might not know this but there were a TON of super useful fiber arts tutorial videos that were short, sweet and to the point that were all over YouTube, but since the YT search algorithm heavily weights new content youā€™d never be able to find them now ā€¦. unless you use this site! findoldvideo allows you to search YouTube videos from a particular year and sort your results chronologically. A good example search would be ā€œcrochetā€ year: 2008 Boom! Now you have tutorial videos that are less than 2 minutes long and have no promos, random extra talking, title cards, or other fancy shit because they were posted 17 years ago before YouTube was awash in ā€œcontentā€. Youā€™re welcome.
Degraeve Color Palette Generator ā€“ā€“ generate a color palette from any image on the web and get hex codes. Good for graphic design, but could also be useful for coming up with ā€œinspired byā€ color palettes for your projects.
Kleki ā€“ā€“ digital painting in your browser for free. Includes a wide range of brushes and the ability to use layers. If you need to do some drawings for your project, Kleki is a good free alternative if you donā€™t have paid software on your computer or tablet.
Library of Congress Digital Collections ā€“ā€“ Free to use reference images of a wide range of items, including images of historical fashions!
ManualsLib ā€“ā€“ did you just buy a second hand sewing machine, digital embroidery machine, or knitting machine that doesnā€™t have a manual? You might be able to download a free copy here on the internetā€™s most comprehensive catalog of product manuals.
Stitch Fiddle ā€“ā€“ A site/tool for designing patterns for knitting, crochet, cross stitch, needle punch and more.
The Smithsonian Image Archive ā€“ā€“ Free to use images of a massive amount of things! If you like designing embroidery or cross stitch images of botanicals, insects, animals, etc. you can find high quality images of these here and download them for free and use them for anything.
Encyclopedia of Needlework by ThĆ©rĆØse de Dillmont (1890) ā€“ā€“ Dillmontā€™s Encyclopedia of Needlework contains tutorials for sewing, embroidery, cross stitch, lace making, knitting, macrame and more. Originally published in 1890, it was an extremely popular work on the topic and is still being reprinted today. The link takes you to a free online copy on Ā Project Gutenberg. It unfortunately doesnā€™t seem to have included the Table of Contents so youā€™ll need to pop a ctrl + f (cmd + if youā€™re on mac) and search your desired terminology. If you get it in print it is HUGE!
The Dictionary of NeedleworkĀ by Sophia Frances Ann Caulfeild (1885) ā€“ā€“ Read another popular book stitching, with the delightful subtitle: ā€œan encyclopaedia of artistic, plain, and fancy needlework. Dealing fully with the details of all the stitches employed, the method of working, the materials used, the meaning of technical terms, and, where necessary, tracing the origin and history of the various works described. Illustrated with upwards of 800 wood engravings, and coloured plates. Plain sewing, textiles, dressmaking, appliances, and termsā€
Volunteering Opportunities:
Project Linus ā€“ā€“Ā  Project Linus seeks to ā€œProvide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer blanketeers.ā€ Knit, crochet, or quilt blankets that will be donated to NICU babies, Peds Oncology kids, and more. My grandma quilted for Linus for many years. I think that this post is a great encapsulation of the impact of Linus and similar orgs that donate blankets to kids in need.
Loose Ends Project ā€“ā€“ ā€œLoose Ends is an everyone-is-welcome movement that aims to ease grief, create community, and inspire generosity by matching volunteer handwork finishers with textile projects people have left undone due to death or disability.ā€

nothin' serious, just thinkin
The whole situation with a certain Indie creatorā€™s work blowing up too quickly and feeling overwhelmed by it, really makes me think about howā€¦ not fun it is sometimes when your work gets popular. Obviously my level of popularity and fandom doesnā€™t match thereā€™s but dealing with people who see your OCs and start claiming them as their own, disrespect boundaries and basically hound you with their preferences is such a reoccurring problem itā€™s a bit scary.
For example, I remember wanting to completely scrap Powers as a character when people were treating her as a self insert to be homophobic and misogynistic, despite carrying neither of those traits. People make fetish art of my OCs and then tag me in it (and if I donā€™t reblog/retweet it they practically spam me about it). Iā€™ve had people try to steal my own OCs out of spite. Iā€™ve seen people draw smut of my underaged characters. People have gotten angry with me when my characters disprove their headcanons or present themselves in ways that arenā€™t their preferences. The amount of times Iā€™ve dealt with people genuinely angry with me that Sera is a woman is a scary amount. Queer people thinking my art is fetish content that is catered for straight men. Iā€™ve had people tell me that because I donā€™t depict more of a specific group, that means I despise them and that my art is inherently promoting hateful ideology for not depicting them. People sending me videos of bugs being killed or mocking my characters because they think itā€™s funny. and I have to repeat again these arenā€™t random trolls online, this is from my own followers.
And you guys have seen how angry people get when I tell them to stop being bigoted under my queer art, whether itā€™s complaining that Iā€™m drawing too many women/lesbians or bitching that Iā€™m drawing gay men at all, Iā€™ve had to deal with the unfortunate fact some of my followers, no matter how many times I try to push them off my account are justā€¦ very hateful and think my work is fetish content meant to cater to them. Lesbian art isnā€™t queer art, itā€™s a porn category for some people. And a lot of queer men think itā€™s fine to lesbophobic and misogynistic under my art and demand that I draw less female characters because (insert that annoying Speed quote here)
I do really like the fanart and Iā€™m completely fine with NSFW works as long as the characters are 18+, but itā€™s just. Itā€™s scary sometimes. And it scares me to imagine what would happen if I really blew up. Respect creatorā€™s boundariesā€¦ please.

Hello Intrepid Viewer, and Welcome, Bienvenidos, Ł…Ų±ŲŲØŲ§Ł‹ to the one and only:
Tumblr media
The only place to find your latest and newest joffenings, joffenisms and joffy hijinks!
You may have questions, and for these, we here at JoffyWorldInc. have the answers for you!
Below you will find an FAQ, Important Disclaimers and a list of Tags used by JoffyWorld and hopefully all the answers to your questions!
Also here is a link to the Ballad of the Bishops AU Masterpost! For easier access to the chronology :)
Disclaimers:
This blog operates on the assumption of an audience that is 18+. The topics at discussion in this blog will sometimes, though somewhat rarely, include mentions of sexual acts, frequent profanity and reflect the age of its creator, you have been warned.
While nearly all topics are welcome, we here at JoffyWorldInc are a welcoming and open profile. We will not tolerate blatant hate or harassment, and any attempt to carry out such vile acts will result in a block. Any mention of illegal acts is incredibly frowned upon and common human decency heavily applies, if you engage in proshipping or "illegal content" you are not welcome here I am afraid, common sense applies and we will not abide by cruelty or evil in any form. The same goes for any form of bigotry, including misandry, all people are equal in the eyes of Joffy. You do not have to agree with someone to know they are human just as you are.
Sadly, we do not have the time nor resources to vet and check the legitimacy of fundraisers. We here at JoffyWorldInc are in full support of Palestine and believe strongly in many other political issues across the world but lack the time to do the checks owed to fundraising efforts. We are sorry, but we will mention what we can where we can.
FAQ:
Who is Joffy?
Joffy is me! My pronouns are he/him (because to be frank I am him) and I am currently 20 years old but beyond that I will remain anonymous.
Why is Joffy?
Honestly, we don't know! He is here solely to spread positivity and love and he hopes you enjoy his efforts!
Where is Joffy?
Probably in your reblogs or comments! He loves to spread joy and happiness wherever he goes and if he's commented under your works of art, writing or other content you produce, it is out of love for what you do!
What is Joffy?
Joffy is an anonymous identity concocted here at JoffyWorldInc and JoffyBroadcastingCo. to spread good vibes and overall show his appreciation to the beautiful people of Tumblr and especially the Cult of the Lamb fandom!
When is Joffy?
JoffyWorld adheres to a rather loose schedule centered around the GMT timezone. Times active are usually around 1pm to 2am GMT, with some leeway either way.
Why does Joffy like, comment and reblog all my stuff?
Because you're awesome that's why! Joffy loves to see art of all forms from the raunchy to the family friendly and by God will JoffyWorld serve as the Internet's Library of Alexandria and Abbasid House of Wisdom for the things Joffy loves (mainly being Cult of the Lamb content)!
Can I follow or interact with Joffy?
Yes! He is a regular person! This charade of being a company is all an entertaining way to provide information! He loves people, he loves you, and a message or a kind word makes his day a whole lot brighter, and he hopes it does the same for you!
What to do if I find Joffy annoying?
Tell him! He is a person and quite socially inept at that so inform Joffy if you wish for him to no longer comment as frequently or turn your notifications off. Notifications are on for his favourite accounts, so you will likely see him being first to reblog and comment fairly often!
Joffy's Frequent Tags (Subject to Updates):
#JoffyJoff
Regular hijinks, the thoughts and feelings of Joffy in the wide world (usually without any specific subject)!
#AskyJoffy
The responses and asks sent by you! The dear viewer! Usually responded to the same day if not within an hour or two. Anonymous asks are welcome and asks are not restricted to any topics! Let your mind run free!
#JoffyAnnouncements
Announcements regarding the meta of this account, including updates regarding it's creator and the running of it's functions such as redesigns of the page and its' content.
#JoffyWrites
This is the tag where creative works will be stored! Don't expect fully in-depth cohesive stories or ao3 works of art, it'll mostly be short and sweet poems with possible character analysis made afterward to dive deeper into the characters, who knows?!
#Poetry!au
This is the tag similar to JoffyWrites, but specifically for the poetry about the au within the poems. This au tries to stick to canon as closely as possible, but with some elements open to interpretation there is plenty of gaps to fill!
Aaaand that's it!
Welcome to the world of Joffy, we hope you enjoy your stay. Any questions not answered in the FAQ? Feel free and encouraged to drop an ask in the JoffyWorld askbox and you will receive the answers you desire.
Thank you! Enjoy your stay!

Yeah I haven't been keeping up with any of the drama on the different character weeks/ship weeks or whatever, so this is all I'm gonna say:
It seems kinda obvious that Elain week is going to feature Elriel & Elucien art. If it ONLY featured ship content, that would be an issue but I saw plenty of non-shipping related content. Now the AMOUNT of content for each ship ... well that solely depends on the creator/commissioners of such work, does it not?
"There's not enough Elucien content" okay then make or commission more? It's not like the account running the week refused to reblog Elucien content
"Well, I refuse to participate because I'm not allowed to ship Elain with a known abuser so I am boycotting the week" ok then why are you even complaining?
If you, as a group of contributors, refuse to produce content for a display week.... obviously there's going to be less of that group's content??
Like I'm sorry but that's just common sense, I fear.
Gwyn week also has hella Gwynriel art. Don't see anyone complaining about that? Lucien week (if such a thing exists) probably has hella Elucien content. Nobody's out here complaining about that.
Imagine if the Vassiens were suddenly like ... "I'm not participating in Lucien week because I hate the rules in place for it" and then had the audacity to complain that there was not enough Vassien art?? That would be crazy.
You want to see more of your preferred ship or more of your fav individual character? Then learn to draw or write or commission it from people who can.
It would be a whole other issue if the account running the week was purposefully not reblogging Elucien or individual Elain content but that was NOT the case. The rules have always been "Ships are welcome, as long as they are not known absuers. Please tag the official account so your work can be reblogged." What's the problem here?
Let's be mindful of the hard work people put in to run these weeks. If you don't think it's being done right, then nobody is stopping you from hosting one yourself.

@goodomensafterdark and other people in the GO fandom,
Hey! I make free good omens content because I love sharing with you all, but I am trying to manage my finances as a 19 year old who was kicked out by their mum. I am safe, with a roof over my head, don't fret! But a little extra cash goes a long way. (At the end of this post I will show you how far.)
These are some examples of my art that you might recognise me from:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, if you're in a financial position to support me:
My commissions are open!! And my Patreon has paid tiers for $2, $5, and $7.
And if you aren't:
My Patreon has a free tier with lots of cool rewards and bonuses.
Plus, Reblogging this post is super helpful even if you can't directly donate. Maybe someone who follows you is in a position to support me.
How far does your money actually go?
Here are a few of my expenses:
Just $2 buys me a whole bag of expired bread at a local bakery. It's enough bread to keep me fed for a whole week!
My commute to work (I'm a pay-what-you-can tutor because I want to eliminate socioeconomic barriers to education. I have to take public transportation to my students' houses) costs me $10 every trip.
My internet bill is $39 a month.
$20 buys me 50 pages of the sketchbook paper I use.
Now, I am in a position where I don't need your support to pay for any part of my lifestyle. But holy fuck is it helpful. It means that I can start paying off my student loans, and that I can actually add to my savings account. (Btw, none of this is your responsibility. Don't feel obligated to maintain my financial decisions. I'm fine, I'm just giving you some insight into my life for the sake of transparency.)
Currently I make $28.75 a month from Patreon alone. I am so grateful for that. It is such a relief to have a bit of extra cash on the side, doing something I love.
If you want to know what my short term savings goal is, I want to buy a drawing tablet so that I can make comics more easily. Those can cost anywhere from 300-1000 dollars, so it'll be a while before I can afford it. Long term, I'm saving up for a deposit on a house. Is that a pipe-dream? Probably. But I'm nothing if not delusional.
Commission prices.

IMPORTANT!!
So, my fnaf friends are making notices on the state of reblogging posts, especially art.
Here's a little explanation for the people that are unaware: Tumblr likes don't do much if anything at all for spreading posts, the reblogging does all of that because it places that art on your own blog for the people that follow you to see. It's not reposting art and stealing it, I promise. The account that you reblogged the post from will be visible. Reblogging helps with spreading things for other people to see that might also enjoy it!
For example, if you enjoy my fnaf comic, reblog it so that other people can find it as well and also enjoy it! If you are more of a fan of my creepypasta content or my furry content, then reblog it so that your followers who may or may not like that art as well can find it!
From what I know, Tumblr doesn't have an algorithm that it pushes content on, the content pushing is all done by the people on Tumblr, not any sort of code or system (I don't know how algorithms work).
My hours of work and the hours of work of other artists on Tumblr will be stuck in an echo chamber without intervention of reblogging from viewers like you. Amazing things will be created that not a whole lot of people will know about if the reblog tool Tumblr provided is not used.
So, please, please, pretty please reblog art from others and myself. I won't make it mandatory because I know I personally don't like the pressure of demands because it makes my OCD go off the wall, but I will be making a very polite banner that I'd be very happy and would appreciate it if people could reblog my art.
I know there's a lot going on in the world right now and I don't know what you specially are going through, but it doesn't take any time at all and I rather enjoy reading the tags people put on my art. And even then, you don't have to tag it, just submitting the reblog is enough.
So, if you go to like art of mine or anyone's, take a second away from your doomscroll to take a second and reblog the art post. Or any post you'd like! The more people that reblog a post, the more people see it.
And please don't take advantage of my kindness and lenient nature because then we're going to have problems.
Sincerely, Poindexter Bunny

Hi! Uhm Iā€™m new, I love your blog! But Iā€™m just nervous Iā€™ll be judged by others that I like this stuff
Hey I am so so sorry about how long it took me to get to this. I have been thinking this over quite a bit, since this is in fact a very serious thing. (I also have been really busy, which hasn't helped in the speed at which I answer asks)
Firstly, thank you! I am always so happy when people find my art/content as entertaining as I do!
Secondly, in regards to the judgment.
Unfortunately, no matter what you do, someone will judge you. But when you want something enough, when you care about something enough, you will find places and groups where that judgment lessens. I have found my place here, a place where, although no one knows my irl name, they know me by a name I answer to. Although no one knows my face, they do know a truer face of myself than many do in real life. People here know me and often know a more freeing part of me.
I think being here, on Tumbler, has been so freeing and overall rewarding. I know you may be scared of the judgment, but there are ways to lessen it. (I will give tips on how to do this later on)
Although our community has its faults, it is kind at heart and truely is trying to do what they think is best to keep others safe. Although many disagree with the methods, it always comes back to the fact that we want to have a safe place to express ourselves. This, our community, in reality, is a decently safe place.
That being said, I know the fear of harassment is very real. So if you guys want my tips on how to avoid harassment, here are some things I've found:
Dont post political views (outside of DNI lists) on your sfw vore blog. This often can lead to people who dont agree with your view on said matter to seek you out for hate. I have seen this time and time again, I whole heartedly recommend a dedicated blog to that stuff, or even creating a new/separate account for it.
Dont spam tags. This is basic, but often overlooked. Make sure you tag your posts right, or people may block you because you did post something triggering and they saw it.
Dont reblog Willy nilly. This can lead to mishaps, such as accidentally rebloging a post from an nsfw blog. Try to make sure you are rebloging from people you know are safe.
Dont threaten, even jokingly, anyone unless you make it 100% clear it is a joke. This goes for your friend, others, and even people who are mean to you. This is often overlooked, but can easily come to bite you in the ass when your words are used to make you look violent and sporadic.
If people criticize you, even unjustly, try to at least think about where those words may be coming from. I have someone call me a pedo in the past, and although I am very ace, I understand it was probably coming from a place of hurt. Whether it was their hurt or someone they knew, it was probably a subject that was important, and if they see any of the same trends as when they/another was hurt, they will point it out. Dont get angry and aggressive, no matter how much you want to. If you need to, step away.
If troll annons start invading your ask box, either turn off annon or stop answering. Answering annons like that too often only fuels the fire, trolls, not haters, but trolls specifically feed off of your reaction. There is nothing for you to often grasp onto in those moments since the face you are talking to is faceless. So, either scarcely answer trolls, or dont answer them at all.
Dont get involved in community discourse when possible. Unless your hand is forced or it is an unavoidable matter, it is best to stay out of discourse. If you still want to know what others thing/help in a muxg safer way, often, I will message others I trust about their views on the matter (or if they are involved asking if they are doing ok), but rarely anything beyond that. Its difficult, seeing people you know be in the rough situations, but often stepping in when not necessary leads to more problems than it does help.
Please note that these are just some of the things I do that help me. Other people may have their own way of keeping harassment away from their blog, but this is mine.

Welcome to the A2T Detective Agency
Established "Only Good Cop of Tumblr"
Hello! I'm the resident officer of this one man police department/detective agency.
I initially made this blog to investigate ai art theft bots and alert artists about them, but now I've expanded it to be about spreading the word about general forms of online evil.
Case Types:
Stolen Content (Catalogues content thieves of all kinds, bot or not.)
AI Scumbaggery (Using AI generated content to steal or create content, or manipulate others.)
Illegal Content (Self-Explanatory.)
Sockpuppeting (Where you create multiple accounts for the sole purpose to make your main account look better or ban evade.)
Harassment (Self-Explanatory)
Scams (Also Self-Explanatory. Dropshipping also counts as a scam.)
Astroturfing (Bleeds in with Sockpuppeting.)
Deception (Straight up lying to people. Not to be confused with unreality content. It becomes more of a problem if you are actively scrubbing evidence of what you did/any form of information that would contradict your case)
Cases:
Sevenart.ai (The one that started it all!)
Copycat Bots (Bots that repost images and even copy/paste posts and tags.)
Ivan the Terrible Mouthwasher (A swarm of various social media accounts that posts illegal and gore content involving children and animals under the tags for the game "Mouthwashing".) (CW: mentions of gore, child porn, child gore, rape, animal torture, extreme fetishes, executions)
Lavenderconstellation.store (Notorious dropshipping scam site that uses bots/takes over other blogs to promote themselves) - Side Mission: Jeremy James Hammers (One of Lavenderconstellation.store's bots reblogged a post from an antisemitic, far-right leaning man that thinks he's both Jesus Christ and Dream of the Endless from "The Sandman". I can't find the answer as to why this happened, but it did open the door to a rabbit hole that is far stranger than any case tackled here.) (CW: antisemitism and transphobia.)
Verridith v. m0t0k0 (What starts off as a simple case of plagiarized works turns into a wild day at Judge A2T's courtroom. No, really, it lasted an entire day.)
CANMKING, aka Arron Mckoy (A DJ/rapper/artist from London, England who is using two content farm accounts (Facts by Briggs and Riley Frankcap) to scam people out of their money via a kofi-like service.)
Crippled-Peeper (AKA, the plant profile pic saga. Another one of those "open and shut case turned clustertruck" kind of situations, only this time the whole situation evolved into what could only be described as "Now That's What I Call 2014-2017 Tumblr Drama". Not my brightest moment.)
How to report....
Stolen Content: If it's a bot, you can report as spam. BUT, it has to be from the "report something else category". If this doesn't work, file a DMCA.
Illegal Content: Usually this content gets nuked right away by a simple report. You can give the report multiple links as well. The more, the merrier.
If the image of the child is innocent, but the reblogs and posts itself are in a suggestive context, do mention it when filing the report under child abuse.
If you spot content involving candid shots (people getting filmed and posted in a sexualized context without their permission), file it under a privacy violation under the victim's behalf.
Reposted porn gifs and videos can be nuked simply by filing it under a sexually explicit report. Again, it has to be from the "report something else category". Otherwise, it will do nothing.
Harassment: Only report for harassment if a block doesn't stop them.
AI Scumbaggery: Can overlap with any one of the above. Don't report something solely because it is AI generated.
Scam: Report as spam/bot. Not sure if you can report it as Unlawful Uses or Content, but it wouldn't hurt to try!

Tumblr should really let you pin multiple things as a blog introduction. (I wish).
Anyway, hi, hello, (new friend?), I'm Brb/Birb/(real name redacted). I'm an almost graduated student from the general land of cornfields and more cornfields. There's not much around, that's why I'm here, lol. (Also I've met a bunch of cool people, so now I think I'm kind of stuck here - come join us!).

If you happen to be a New Person Who Has Found Me (Hello!) and You Want To Talk to Me, I don't bite, I swear. I am a Birb with the heart of a Golden Labrador Retriever. Feel free to Tag Me in any tag games or haunt my inbox. <3 Come say hi! i love friends.
Tumblr media

Anyway, more information y'all should know: This is the main account; I do have a sideblog. I reblog a lot of friend's nonsense, post a lot of my own even more nonsense, kind of have a whole "I want to be a hobbit living my best life somewhere not here vibe" I think. You will also see posts about things I think are wholesome/sweet, writing, psychology, fantasy, whatever fandom I'm in (or a friend's fandom),....just general nonsense I suppose. I do post some amount of life stuff when relevant or whenever I find things funny. Although the pic above is an owl, I am probably more akin to a magpie with much reblogging of things I find "shiny" to add to the chaotic mess that is my tumblr dashboard.
āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦āš”ļøšŸ¦
@brb-on-a-side-blog is also me! This was created to hopefully separate original writing content from the rest of the reblogging I do so it doesn't get buried in theory. This may not work out in theory as well as in practice, but I promise to reblog the cool writing stuff to my main blog if you don't want to have it clogging up your dash :).
There are other ones but as I am currently not using them it seems futile to put in an intro post.

hi all! since it's been on my mind, I thought I would offer some practical advice when it comes to giving proper credit to creators online.
(disclaimer: this post has nothing to do with plagiarism laws or intellectual property rights and the like, that's a whole other kettle of fish. this is purely about online etiquette when it comes to sharing work by other people.)
so! I present you with:
a guide to providing credit when reposting art & writing!
let's start with some clarifications:
what counts as reposting? in this context, reposting refers to taking content (a downloaded image, copy-pasted text, a screenshot, etc) from it's original context and uploading it yourself to an unconnected secondary place (a new post, a different online platform, etc). for example, taking a screenshot of someone's poem on twitter and posting it on tiktok.
is all sharing reposting? no! some social media platforms (like tumblr) have built-in features for sharing or boosting posts made by other people that don't disconnect the content from it's original source. here, the reblog feature just puts someone else's post on your blogā€”the OP's handle and information and everything are still attached to it. this is a great way to share art & writing, because it keeps the content connected to it's creator and original context.
how do I tell the difference? a good way to judge whether something would be a repost or a boost is to consider if the original post is being kept intact and if there are direct links to the original creator's account. for example, sharing a post to your instagram story keeps the original post intact and links directly to that original post & the creator's account. this would be boosting, and that's great! however, if you screenshotted an instagram post and uploaded it to your story that way, that would be a repost, which is less ideal. that said, reposting can be done respectfully with the proper considerations and credit.
if you are going to remove content from it's original context and repost it, first consider:
do I know who made this? sometimes people post content that has already been disconnected from its original source. like, for example, if you wanted to make a spongebob fan art collage and found an account on pinterest that reposts spongebob fan art from a bunch of different artists without identifying each artist. as a general rule of thumb, if you can't identify the original creator of a work, don't repost it.
NOTE: putting "all work belongs to the original creators" or "not mine, credit to original creator" is useless as a credit. this doesn't give anyone any information about the creator of the work or its original context, nor does it absolve you of anything. to give an hyperbolic comparison, that would be like grabbing a painting from a gallery wall and saying "don't worry, this isn't mine," on your way out.
does the creator allow reposts? some online artists ask other people not to repost their artwork in new posts or on other platforms, even with credit. it is basic decency to respect an artist's wishes in this way and not repost it if they ask people not to do so. usually if this is an artist's preference, they will state it somewhere in their account title or bio.
NOTE: again, built-in boosting features like reblogging on tumblr are not reposting, because you are not removing the content from its original context, so that would still be an acceptable means of sharing the creator's work.
can I give credit to the original creator in my new post? ensure there is an accessible way to offer credit. for example, if you're using a screenshot of a poem in a tiktok slideshow, you could put the credit in the caption of the post or on the image of the poem itself as an overlay. but, if you are using someone else's work in an icon or banner for a social media account, you would have to find somewhere less direct to put the credit (like in your bio, as is often the case for icons and banners).
how should I credit an artist or writer in a repost?
use the original creator's name and/or online username. this is the most important part. if you don't do anything else, do this. to make your credit even better: if they use the platform you're posting on, consider tagging them, or if you found the work on another platform, name that platform.
poem by [originalcreator] OR poem by O. Creator / @[originalcreator] on instagram
link back to the original creator's post. if the format allows, include a hyperlink to the creator's original post of the content you're reposting. you can also copy and paste the link address in your caption (it looks a little messier, but does provide a direct connection back to the creator, which is helpful). some platforms also have an "image source" input built into their interface for postsā€”keep an eye out for that as another option.
the drawing in the background is by @[originalcreator], linked here OR the drawing in the background is by @[originalcreator]: https://originalcreatorsblog.com/posts/the-drawing-youre-reposting
put the credit somewhere clear and accessible. putting credits in the content or caption of a post is generally the best practiceā€”place it clearly somewhere people can easily see. putting credit in the original caption of a post is much better than putting it in a comment or other secondary interface feature (such as an image's alt text).
ask the creator for permission to repost their work. this is something of an extra step, as not many people necessarily expect it, but I know myself and many of the creators I know would be flattered by the courtesy to ask before sharing our work elsewhere. this is helpful because it makes the creator aware of the repost, your support, and also gives them the opportunity to decline if it's something they're not comfortable with.
what if I can't find the source for something I want to repost?
in this case, you have two good options: 1) don't repost that thing, or 2) try to find the original source yourself.
for finding sources yourself, I know search engines are the shittiest they've ever been, but lots of previously posted or shared work can be located online with some quick searching. for word-based work, try searching a few lines of the textā€”I've found lots of poems and posts this way. images can be harder to track, but it's worth it to try using a reverse image search tool like tineye or something similar to see if the work can be found somewhere else on the internet.
if all else fails and you really want to find the source for an image or a work, making a post and asking others for help locating the source can be an effective option, but there is a definite difference between making a post like:
can anyone help me find the artist who made this drawing? I want to put it in a web weaving collection but I can't find who made it.
and making a post like:
here is my web weaving collection! if anyone knows who the artist for the third drawing is, let me know.
while both lack credit, the first post isn't using the uncredited drawing and the poster is actively trying to find the credit to be able to use the drawing respectfully. meanwhile, the second post still uses and benefits from the artist's uncredited work while only really passively seeking out the credit / passing the torch to other people when their repost has already been made.
ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”
that's my advice for reposting! if anyone has anything to add please feel free. and remember, it's very often not too late to go back and fix old posts to add credits if you have left them out in the past! if you think you may have posts that have used uncredited works by others, I urge you to take the time to either edit them or take them down.
in the current treacherous terrain of ai use in the realms of art & writing, the basic decency of credit extended to artists & writers is more important than ever. please. credit the creators of work you share.

To the latest fandom take:
I strongly disagree with the take "new posts are cringe and low effort". Brother (gender neutral), trust me, you shaming them is so embarrassing. Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy. You're not held down by chains with your eyes forcefully open to look at those posts. Just scroll past or block accounts you don't like. Instead of being joyful about new people joining in, you chose to be bitter about what they post. We were all at that age. Stop picking on younger teens. Hell, it isn't about age. Every post, as long as it is not harmful, is valid and as long as its author enjoys it and enjoys sharing, don't stomp on it. That way, we'll get less and less posts. So what that people keep posting headcanons or essays that are "obvious" or were here before? Those people weren't here before. Let them DISCOVER the wonderful RA world for themselves and share that excitement. And if those posts don't satisfy? WRITE YOUR OWN. Thank you, cheff.
However, what I want to draw attention to (now speaking to everyone), is the remark about fanartists. I know some that left or stopped actively creating for the reason that they felt not appreciated. It goes deeper than that. In the world built on capitalism and consumerism, amateur artists (who are also human beings who seek assurance and positive encouraging feedback) and who come to fandom to share their free artwork for fun and for interaction that gives them motivation to go on, are not some machines that come automatically giving content. Consuming their art and using it without even interacting, especially in this small fandom, can feel draining and this is not what the fanartists came here to do. If you look at it through their eyes, would you continue to do art if you felt it hasn't found its audience or if the audience felt passive about it? You do not have to like some art work. I get it, we all have our own taste. But if you do not support artists, especially beginning ones, it's really easy to lose the motivation. And you're robbing yourself. Imagine some artist who would have become great and eventually posted the art you like, is not sharing their art because they didn't feel motivated.
In conclusion. OP of the prev fandom take, I definitely do not agree with your opinion on ra tag and posts. I also don't like the tone in which you wrote your whole ask. But, everyone, I do believe there's a tiny thing that's worth giving a thought in the part about fanart.
All I see lately is people complaining there aren't good posts or that fandom is dying. Babes, if you're not gonna interact with things, either posts or art or fics or whatever, of course the activity is gonna die down. But also I do think that on the other hand, people who say stuff like "we don't have content anymore are the ones who purposefully ignore posts of the newer blogs just because it isn't entirely their taste and then say this fandom is desolated wasteland about to be hit by dinosaur killing meteorite. Valid, you don't have to reblog stuff that you don't want to. But then stop complaining about that fact there isn't stuff and either shut up and move on or contribute yourself.
Pessimism and toxicity isn't what this fandom needs and to be real I am tired of these fandom takes that what is actually bringing this fandom down. Complaints and call outs to toxic and harmful behaviour is valid and shouldn't be suppressed and please, everyone don't ever be afraid to do that. But these shaming takes and asks, is like chasing and biting your own tail and then complaining it hurts. I'd really appreciate it if some of you could refrain from shaming people who harmlessly enjoy stuff. Bye.
