Bird of a Feather AU headcanons time! The colors of their wings change to fit the one of the flock, so they all blend in together as a unit. Gabriel's flock in SkyHeaven took after Gabriel's white wings, and The Fallen Flock took after Beelzebub's black. But if somebody doesn't feel like part of the flock but instead forms a bond with somebody else, their feathers will quickly shift colors to blend in with the new partner. Kinda like… creating a new pattern of color for a little new flock <3 This puts Aziraphale and Crowley in a MESSY POSITION since they are seeing each other in secret and still have to return to their respective flocks at the end of the day

On the other hand, the day that Gabriel, after being beaten up by Beelzebub, discovers some black feathers in his own wings, he goes in FULL DENIAL MODE because there is NO WAY HE LIKES THE ENEMY!!1!(one)11!!! Michael finds him with his wings unkept and asks what happened, so Gabriel straight up PANICS and pretends he fought with Beelzebub and WON lmao
