Mel: I know. I feel so awful...

Loren: [sighs] You didn’t do anything, Mel. Selene is an adult, and she made a choice. A fucked-up one, but a choice nonetheless, and now we process and we move on.

FLORENCE, Italy – As Steven Stokey-Daley’s fall show in Florence during Pitti Uomo wrapped, the British designer, the 2022 recipient of the LVMH Prize for Young Designers, revealed longtime fan Harry Styles is acquiring a minority stake in the company.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Harry and I have a shared vision for the future of S.S. Daley and we look forward to this new chapter together as we focus on brand longevity and scaling the business into a modern British heritage house,” the designer, 26, said.

The pair was introduced by Styles’ stylist Harry Lambert, who masterminded the wardrobe for the artist’s “Golden” music video, outfitting him in Stokey-Daley’s graduate collection.

The investment is geared at building S.S. Daley’s direct-to-consumer business and forge ahead with plans for a “sustainable and long-term expansion,” the company said in a statement.

After graduating from the University of Westminster, Stokey-Daley made his London Fashion Week debut in September 2021 supported by the National Youth Theatre artistic director Paul Roseby, staging a four-part performance by members of the theater, riffing on British tailoring and tackling such topics as social class, inequality, school life, sexual awakening and homosexuality.

That same year, the S.S. Daley designer was among the recipients of the British Fashion Council’s Newgen initiative and was awarded again by the British fashion governing body the following year, with the BFC Foundation Awards.

The designer’s gender-fluid take on the uniforms of the British upper classes, such as wide-leg trousers, argyle-knit wool vests and embroidered shirts, appeals to a Gen-Z sensibility, and a growing female customer base. The brand is currently stocked in a handful of retailers, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Dover Street Market, Matchesfashion, Bergdorf Goodman, 10 Corso Como Seoul and I.T Store.

Attending the S.S. Daley show in Florence, Sir Paul Smith praised Stokey-Daley and said: “I think that the ideal thing [for him] would be to try and work in parallel with a commercial company that help him develop as a commercial designer, as well as creative designer. And of course, that’s what everybody dreams of. He has the balance between commerciality and creativity.”

“I think [his designs] might have had similarities in my earlier [career]… We are in 60-something countries now. So you have to be a lot more aware of commerciality and things that work for the shops especially right now because the business and around the world is so difficult for people,” Smith added.

Styles’ investment falls in line with a growing number of celebrities becoming brand shareholders. They include, among others, Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon who invested in Spanx; Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas in skiwear maker Perfect Moment; Beyoncé, Jessica Alba and Rihanna in French accessories firm Destree; Mila Kunis, Cameron Diaz and Gabrielle Union in Autumn Adeigbo, and Mark Wahlberg in Italian sneaker brand P448.

The lineup for 2024 PaleyFest L.A. has been announced.

Oz the Great and Powerful is a 2013 film directed by Sam Raimi and starring James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz. The film is based on Lyman Frank Baum's famous novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and is the ideal prequel to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.

Kansan, 1905. The young and eccentric Oscar Diggs works as an illusionist in a small circus under the name "The Great and Powerful Oz" and dreams of being recognized as a great magician. Oscar is also an inveterate womanizer, which causes him trouble with the circus strongman when he discovers that he has been flirting with his wife. Oscar escapes him by climbing onto the circus hot air balloon, being sucked into a sudden tornado. While at the mercy of nature's whim, Oscar pleads with God to spare his life, promising that he will try to be a better man.

Once the surreal storm is over, Oscar lands in a colorful and bizarre magical land and is found by Theodora, the "good witch", who, fascinated, believes that Oscar is the chosen one of a prophecy according to which he will eliminate the "bad witch" who murdered the King of Oz, and will in turn become the new ruler. After hearing that the Wizard everyone has been wanting for will come into possession of an enormous treasure of gold, Oscar decides to make everyone believe he is the chosen one and identifies himself with his own alter ego, unaware of the dangers he will have to face. Oscar also saves the life of Finley, a small flying monkey, from a lion, using his circus tricks.

Once in the Emerald City, Oscar meets Evanora, Theodora's sister, the one who guards the Wizard's throne until the arrival of the chosen one.

I like the fact you are fair and call out old men and women for dating young people like that director of the first 50 shades movie. If you mean Sam Taylor and Aaron Johnson, then it's possible that it could be an open marriage, but how not to look at it, the difference of 25 is huge and unnatural. Although there is a serious difference from David and his kept woman. If the Taylor-Johnson couple decides to break up tomorrow, then none of them will remain a beggar on the side of the road, since they have been making careers since childhood and have achieved success. The example of Ashton Kutcher, who eventually broke up with Demi Moore and went to Mila Kunis, speaks for itself. David's kept woman can't afford to fuck young men. Only David can do that. David does not pay for the life of his kept woman in order for she to have fun with young men on the side. Something I seriously don't get...

Why is most of the current discourse about the OG's kids clashing with canon about Leia? Yeah, it's canonically iffy, but being two months premature is still plausible. And I'm 99.9% sure the writers and the showrunners didn't intend for her to be Randy's daughter. At all.

To me, Leia's iffy canonical existence is like an elephant's tail destroying a few things in a china shop. Like, it's not good, but the elephant in the room is undoubtedly Jay.

Why? Because his existence wavers from the canon timeline by not only two months, but by a solid year and a half. Jackie was with Fez on January 1, 1980, and she and Kelso hadn't been together for...yes, a solid year and a half (unless one thinks that she had sex with Kelso during the season 7 finale, which...no way. Kelso was bluffing). Yet both of these articles linked above, and much of the discourse (minus Mila Kunis's quip a few months back), render such an obvious deviation from canon as a footnote.

In the summer of 1995, although the preliminary scripts intended for Jay to be fifteen (iirc), it's quite clear that he's sixteen. He and Nate are the oldest members in the new gang, have been best friends since they were toddlers, and they're the only two that are driving cars without pushback about their age (aka, being too young to legally drive).

So Jay (not Leia), ultimately, is the main reason T9S can't be canon. Jay's existence goes above and beyond the caliber of T7S's wacky timeline, and within canon, he can't possibly exist. By a long shot, because his birthday, at the absolute latest, is in early summer 1979. This blatantly writes off half the show, much of Jackie's character development, and in the world of T9S? Jackie was never with Hyde, and Hyde split shortly after high school graduation. Kelso and Brooke were never a thing, and Betsy doesn't exist. Everyone went their separate ways after the late 70s/very early 80s (and Jackie had a brief relationship with Fez at one point), and that was it. Pretty sad, if you ask me.

PS: Most of the eww-y stuff about Eric crushing on Leia was in the second half of the show (seasons 6 and 7, mainly). So the name Leia isn't as implausible in this context.
