The funny thing about the PJO cabin system is that everyone's always all 'oh the twelve' this and 'the twelve' that but that's absolutely not even remotely accurate. To start, right off the bat it's thirteen, not twelve, because they don't count Hades. But not really because before Percy, there were no big three kids, so we're down to ten active cabins already but it's actually eight because Artemis and Hera don't make demigods.

And of those eight, Mr. D is stuck at camp (thus not really making new demigods all that often) and his only two kids don't even sleep in a cabin, they sleep in the Big House with him.

So, pre-Percy, there are seven active cabins at Camp Half-Blood:

Glee club, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Geeks, the Farmers, the 'Sketchy Kids' and the Popular Kids.

Or, in other words, the Apollo, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Demeter, Hermes (and the unclaimed kids) and Aphrodite cabins.

What's cool is that you can already see the cabin dynamics in the show. For example, the Athena cabin allies with the Hermes cabin for the numbers. The Hermes kids plus all the unclaimed kids? It's the biggest cabin in the camp by far. It's a battle strategy. Luke and Annabeth's close relationship is just the cherry on top for Annabeth. It'll be really cool to see how the show develops the differences in the cabins during the series.

A lot of us with ADHD are familiar with the concept of time blindness, but for anyone who isn't: it's a neurological inability to have a consistent sense of the passage of time. If you put me in an empty room, gave me a button and told me to press it when I think it's been 15 minutes, I might press it after..... idk, anywhere between 3 minutes and 2 hours? And if we repeated it the next day the result would probably be wildly different!

But something I've only seen mentioned in one (1) Reddit post, which took some extensive digging to find, is the same effect extending to ALL things measured in numbers. Distance, weight, length, height, amount, space, volume, percentage... For me, small numbers are a bit easier, I could approximate a centimetre probably, but a metre would be much harder and 10 or 100 would likely miss the mark by a lot. Also, anything that can't be easily measured with a ruler or a measuring tape (like weight or volume) is even harder since I don't encounter reference points (like a 1kg hand weight) for those as frequently as I see visual representations of specific lengths.

It's not dyscalculia or anything like that, I'm decent at math (and the OP of the Reddit post was a math major) and I have no other difficulties with numbers, it's just a disconnect in translating real life experiences like sensory input into numbers (and possibly also inconsistent processing of sensory input? Like how the same sound volume is okay one day but hurts my ears the next?), which I think is basically the same thing as what happens with time blindness. For now I've been calling it "measurement blindness" since I've never seen a name for it anywhere, but maybe "quantity blindness" could also work?

I've talked to other people with time blindness to see if they experience this too, but so far none of them have known what I'm talking about. I'd really like to know how many of us are out there and if anyone knows literally anything actually scientific about this very inconvenient phenomenon!

i think im not a fan of what dc keeps doing with jason because they keep having him, the abused, become an abuser in some way shape or form. and the classism they don't want to talk about (i am being so for real there is a genuine problem of both writers and readers who do not understand jason's background and it pissed me off so bad because it always shapes their opinion of him in the wrong way and they don't care to even try to listen). and how if they were going to have him come back they should have had delved into his identity crisis and the inherent horror of coming back but not knowing how or why or what to do about it and not knowing what you were doing while dead and having to deal with time jumping forward on you and the fact that you will never get the time back and no one will he the same as they were before you died and how isolating and lonely that would be. and they also definitely weren't prepared for the fact that jason was grieving his life and his death and his hopes for his mother and his dad who didn't get there in time and the dc writers are fucking cowards. which brings me to my next point: why do we keep listening to them about shit because they are quite literally always fighting with each other and projecting their own personal biases into characters (i.e. making them worse than they are/2 dimensional/trying to make them iredeemable so their favorite character gets to shine) and also they are all freaks of nature with a consistent problem of being God Awful People who why would we trust them with these characters. jason todd they don't get you like i do

I would like to say I don’t understand why this shit keeps happening, but I actually do understand it way too well. It just makes me so sad and angry. Especially on a site where people find and make their communities.

So much of this is about ego, and the people with power wielding that power to protect themselves and failing to protect others with it. A mere hint of negative sentiment towards them is harassment that is dealt with immediately and harshly, but a dozen complaints about discrimination or threats or bullying take ages to process and frequently come to unsatisfactory moderation decisions.

Whatever the sentiments of the people running this hellsite, you are always welcome in my corner of the internet, wherever you find it. You are all wonderful, and we all deserve to feel that part of this space belongs to us and those to whom we can connect.

Transphobia has no place on tumblr, period. Or anywhere else in society for that matter. It is that which should be being rooted out.

Iwaizumi groans the second you start talking. His laptop shakes in his hands as he contemplates throwing it square at your head. “You’ve been saying that for the past two weeks and have done nothing about it!”

“Cause I like eating with you.” You say, scrolling mindlessly on your phone. He’s sure you’re looking at a sushi menu. “Oikawa talks too much and ruins my appetite, also literally in a different country.” He snorts before turning back around.

“Mattsun and Makki always try to see who can eat the most wasabi and yahaba—” Iwa laughs at the name. He could already tell where it’s going. “He always thinks it’s a date. Seriously, I’m sure that kid would date anyone.”

Iwa swivels in his chair to look at you, but you don’t spare him a glance as you read through the descriptions on your screen. Maybe if you mention the Godzilla roll, he’ll come. “Aren’t you friends with those guys from Karasuno? Why not ask them.”

“I told you, I like eating with you.” He shakes his head. “Plus, Suga is like… all of those people combined. I couldn’t handle that.”

“Didn’t you go on a date with him?” He purses his lips. Why did he ask that? His heart twinges in pain, but he ignores it like he always does.

You hum, sitting up to look at him. “We had fun, but I wasn’t all that interested in him.” You fall back into his pillows, tugging his blanket over you. “He’s a good friend though. Never a dull moment with that lunatic.” Iwa laughs, turning back to his laptop.

“I’m gonna order it here.” You say after a minute. The malice has left his body, but there’s still a sliver of annoyance at your persistence. “I got your favorite.”

“I’ll pay you back.”

You shake your head. He can’t see it but can hear your head rustle against the pillows. “Consider it as sorry for bothering you today.”

“You never bother me,” he says, meeting your eye for a second before he turns away. “But thanks.”

I keep thinking about ivan being called childish

because he really is. his way of unilaterally deciding how till feels about him, that he has no chance before he even tries, is undeniably childish

considering the environment they’re in what else can you expect, but still

what exactly ivan does in round 6… the kiss is probably something between because it was his last chance to express these feelings (no matter how shallow they are, they're his) and because it was the most effective way to force himself to be seen in till’s gaze and choking till is obviously to throw the competition…

but why does he keep doing that after confirming their scores? making sure till can’t speak or even look at him… even while literally getting shot at ivan doesn’t let go

he just refuses to give till a chance to respond to his feelings, to the literal last moment of his life

I doubt rejection scares him much when he’s already decided till doesn’t care about him at all… but imagine. the possibility that he’s not rejected? that till cares about him in any way? that if ivan had done something differently, maybe he could’ve gotten some of what he so desperately wanted?

of course that possibility doesn’t exist. there’s no way. ivan “knows” that.

…but better to never allow that chance anyway
