wait do u mean you take a photo of every single outfit combination or ??
Yeah whenever I put on an outfit I feel good about I take a mirror picture and then periodically I go through my camera roll and add them to my outfit catalogue in my notes app. For example I just added this outfit to my catalogue which I love.
These are a few pages. I have 240 outfits catalogued rn. Some repeats get in there but they just means I like it a lot

Can you go into the differences between single child timeline and multiple children timeline involving your connverse kids?
Gladly! 😁
Okay, so
Gold Timeline (multiple kids)
Steven and Connie had Ebony on their early 20's. Although they wanted to be independent, they were mentally unprepared for raising a kid (and had a little complication during Connie's pregnancy), so they moved close to where relatives can easily help them out. They did eventually move away when Ebony got a bit older (around 7 y.o.) , Rohini following soon after. They had twins in their late 20's or early 30's. (Still figuring out the actual age differences of the kids. Lol)
Steven and Connie got wed while Connie is pregnant with Rohini. They had golden wedding rings.
As one might've easily guessed, this household is noisy and rowdy. lol But they (Steven specially) did find peace in their children's chaos.
Part of my headcanon is that the older Steven and Connie had kids, the more gem-related powers the kid had. So Ebony had the least magical abilities, the twins had the most.
Connie is physically more durable than Silver timeline Connie.
Only the twins have pink tinted eyes with a vague diamond marking.
Silver Timeline (single child)
At their 30's, the two had enough time for themselves and figuring they're on a more stable situation, decided to finally have their own kid.
Connie and Steven were wed at ages 25/26. They had silver wedding rings.
Though still having close connections with the Gems and their parents, the couple never had the need to reside physically close to them.
I guess one could say they are relatively a boring family compared to the Gold timeline. Lol. The silver timeline dynamic is more mellow and subdued.
Steven is calmer than the Gold timeline Steven.
Ebony has visible dark diamond eyes.
There aren't that much details though, and I've just enumerated the ones at the top of my head because sometimes the ideas aren't listed down and tend to be forgotten. 😅
Again, I was hoping to have drawn or at least scribbled something for this but I was thinking I can just edit this post and add the scribbles some later time! 🤞

One of the worst parts of modern app design: disabling highlight-copy-paste
#i feel like this is becoming more and more common#and as someone who regularly sends people posts and stuff feat. highlight quotes - i hate this#even on Tumblr you automatically copy the whole of the paragraph and then i need to paste it somewhere else to properly select the quote#like when I wanna highlight smth in my tags#just let me long-press highlight and copy paste 😭#i am using highlight here for two meanings - the 'showcase best' kind and 'blue overlay of what you're gonna copy' kind#anyway

REBLOGS ARE OFF CAUSE THIS GUIDE IS TERRIBLE AND YOU DESERVE BETTER
I will instead redirect you to THIS more comprehensive guide, and cobalt.tools. Cobalt solves the problem of low quality video when you're done with VLC, and it can also take videos from a dozen other social media platforms.
Support the cobalt dev and the better guide writer, not me. I'm just a person who boiled down a wikihow guide and a youtube tutorial into a TLDR. I did not do very much work. They have.
I might turn reblogs back on, but for now I implore you to put your attention where it's needed most. Thanks for understanding. (original post under the cut)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
alright i am sick of yt to mp4 sites being shady and full of viruses and finding websites that seem to be working and then don't work
so HERE'S HOW YOU DOWNLOAD YOUTUBE VIDEOS WITH VLC!! VLC FREAKIN RULES!!
get your youtube link
open vlc, go to media > open network stream
paste your url in the box and PRESS PLAY!
wait for the video to open then go to tools > codec information
copy the entire file location (click the box, then ctrl-a to select all, then ctrl-c to copy)
paste into your browser of choice (i use firefox)
right click video and press "save video as", choose your file format if you want
DONE! NO VIRUSES OR SKETCHY STUFF!
the quality might be a little crummy but if you don't mind that, then shabam! video on your computer! then you can email it to yourself and have it on your phone too if you want! if you need a guide with pictures wikihow has you covered my friends
happy downloading and stay safe on the internet :D

Controversial art take
It is just me or it's lowkey annoying the fact that is so common in the art community to think that the hooked nose is the default facial feature that can make a "boring" and "eurocentric" character so much better just for the fact that everyone agreed to think that "it is the worst facial feature that someone can have" so they overdo it, I think to claim it back and to show that it can be the most beautiful feature
And yeah I get it it's completely reasonable, but we are left with hundreds of copy paste characters that have the same """undesirable features""" that, let's be real, are boring and ugly just for white and european folks at best, and they act like they're so original and diverse but they're literally just some white people with hooked noses and droopy eyes like. They're still eurocentric they're still the beauty standard especially if they're men. I mean there are bigger issues in the art community but I never saw someone talking about it and it's something that never sat right with me but maybe it's just me idk
#this be said it's not like i dont enjoy characters with a hump on their nose#the thing that bugs me is when people act like they're “never seen” and original#when is one of the most common feature that people add to characters when they want to make them special#there's a large selection that uncommon and non eurocentric features that you can add but idk y#people still opt for that copy paste default diversity ticket nose#not a hate post#open for criticism!#controversial take#unpopular opinion#artist#art

dunno the step of doing it on mobile (at least from the top of my head) and im still stuck w/ the old layout. Will try to explain in terms that should apply regardless of layout in desktop.
(cringe cw below)
If you still have the old layout, click the lil guy icon
on the top right (or to the left if you have the new layout)
A lil menu of your blog stats should pop up.
Over at blog settings then you should enable this switch to enable custom settings (below your dashview blog theme preview)
clicking over edit theme will bring you to a custom page where you edit your blog's theme
this is the button where you paste the theme's code you want to apply. Find a theme you like and they'll usually have a long string of code for you to copy and paste (usually in github or pastebin), where all you need to do is copy the code you want, head over to your blog's theme "edit html" page, select everything in there and paste over the code you're going to use. update, go back (not exit) and it should update everything. From there you can use the color switches on the sidebar and make it your own! Press save, then you're done!
i think we should have a custom blog theme renaissance
#hopefully its understandable#it might help to have a side blog if you're planning to do more involved#but generally you can get away with doing the above method. theres also a selection of theme in the 'browse theme' menu#but its mostly a small handful w/ some costing money#would recommend to just find a code you would like to use first and have it open in another tab so then you can just copy the code from tha#and paste it in another tab w/ the html editor open#ez peazy

The fact that if someone posts a link to a tumblr post in a reply I cannot navigate to it using the tumblr app highlights the reason I hate apps replacing websites.
There’s nowhere in the tumblr app to enter a URL—your only option is to search up a user name and then try to find the post manually
If you copy-paste the link to a web browser like Firefox you get a login-prompt doorslam as soon as you scroll, even if you’re logged into the app.
You cannot easily click on a button from the webpage to load the post in the app
Even copy-pasting the URL is a PITA because the iOS tumblr app doesn’t actually let you select a portion of the text of a reply, only copy the whole thing to the clipboard.
I really hate the way apps break basic interface functionality that’s been standard for decades across different web browsers, to deliver content that is fundamentally just a webpage. @staff please fix this very annoying UI issue at least

none of this is new info, but you know I have the "loves to write lists and compile links" disposition, so I thought it might be helpful to share some of the tips I've seen about how to make sure you're sharing legitimate palestinian evacuation fundraisers and bundle all those tips into a single handy reference post.
this is a spreadsheet of legitimate ("vetted") fundraisers on tumblr.
this post explains how the people who maintain this spreadsheet confirm the legitimacy of each fundraiser they add.
this podcast episode ("yousef and the fourth move") explains why evacuation fundraisers are often organized by people who don't live in gaza and/or who may not be immediate relatives of the people trying to evacuate. it's part three of a series about a man named yousef and his family; parts one and two aren't required listening for part three to make sense, but if you have a few hours to spare then I wholeheartedly recommend listening to all of them.
this is the process that I personally have been using to check whether a particular fundraiser has been vetted:
spreadsheet method
open the vetted fundraisers spreadsheet.
inside this spreadsheet, open the "find..." menu. on a windows computer, this shortcut is ctrl+F. on a mac, this shortcut is cmd+F. on a mobile device, click the three dots menu in the upper right corner of your screen, then select Find and replace.
search for the last name of the person or family in the fundraiser. you may get several results because last names obviously aren't unique; keep hitting "next" until you've looked at all the results.
if you find an entry in the spreadsheet that has the exact same name and whose gofundme link leads to the same fundraiser associated with the blog, it's legitimate. if you don't find an entry in the spreadsheet that matches the blog's fundraiser, that does not mean it's a scam. try the next method below!
tumblr search method
copy the username of the tumblr who originally posted the fundraiser and/or sent you a message asking you to boost the fundraiser. (for example, username123)
paste this username into tumblr's search bar.
for best results, click the All types drop-down menu, then select Text. since the search page is often dominated by asks sent by username123 (which people then answer and tag with their username), this helps narrow things down a bit.
look to see if any people who are not username123 have made posts confirming that username123 is legitimate. this includes people who've reblogged fundraisers and added notes, people who've compiled masterlists, and people sharing hyperlinks to other posts confirming a fundraiser's legitimacy. if the message seems to be "yep, looks legit," then it's safe to assume it's legit.
this is not a comprehensive list, but here are some of the usernames I've seen associated with "yep, looks legit"-type posts and who I've come to trust by association. (disclaimers: I am not mutuals with any of the users, and not all of them do the vetting firsthand, but the ones who don't vet posts themselves still seem to be careful about what they share and therefore are a good lead to follow. also, don't bug these people to vet fundraisers for you unless they've specifically indicated that they're open to that.)
90-ghost
el-shab-hussein
nabulsi
appsa
northgazaupdates
retvolution
communistchilchuck
neptunerings
a-shade-of-blue
shimamitsu
neither of these methods yielded anything definitive; what now?
it may just be too early to tell. unless a trusted source has shared overwhelming evidence that a particular fundraiser is a scam (which seems to be a very very rare occurrence), the best thing you can do is ignore it. don't report their blog as spam, because there's a good chance it's a legitimate fundraiser who just hasn't been vetted yet.

Fanfiction Authors: HEADS UP
(Non-authors, please RB to signal boost to your author friends!)
An astute reader informed me this morning that one of my fics (Children of the Future Age) had been pirated and was being sold as a novel on Amazon:
(And they weren't even creative with their cover design. If you're going to pirate something that I spent a full year of my life writing, at least give me a pretty screenshot to brag about later. Seriously.)
I promptly filed a DMCA complaint to have it removed, but I checked out the company that put it up -- Plush Books -- and it looks like A LOT of their books are pirated fic. They are by no means the only ones doing this, either -- the fact that """publishers""" can download stories from AO3 in ebook format and then reupload them to Amazon in just a few clicks makes fic piracy a common problem. There are a whole host of reasons why letting this continue is bad -- including actual legal risk to fanfiction archives -- but basically:
IF YOU ARE A FANFIC AUTHOR WITH LONG AND/OR POPULAR WORKS, PLEASE CHECK AMAZON TO SEE IF YOUR STORIES HAVE BEEN PIRATED.
You can search for your fics by title, or by text from the description (which is often just copied wholesale from AO3 as well). If you find that someone has stolen your work and is selling it as their own, you can lodge a DMCA complaint (Amazon.com/USA site; other countries have different systems). If you haven't done this before, it's easy! Here's a tutorial:
HOW TO FILE A COPYRIGHT COMPLAINT FOR STOLEN WORK ON AMAZON.COM:
First, go to this form. You'll need to be signed into your Amazon account.
Select the radio buttons/dropdown options (shown below) to indicate that you are the legal Rights Owner, you have a copyright concern, and it is about a pirated product.
Enter the name of your story in the Name of Brand field.
In the Link to the Copyrighted Work box, enter a link to the story on AO3 or whatever site your work is posted on.
In the Additional Information box, explain that you are the author of the work and it is being sold without your permission. That's all you really need. If you want, you can include additional information that might be helpful in establishing the validity of your claim, but you don't have to go into great detail. You can simply write something like this:
I am the author of this work, which is being sold by [publisher] without my permission. I originally published this story in [date/year] on [name of site], and have provided a link to the original above. On request, I can provide documentation proving that I am the owner of the account that originally posted this story.
In the ASIN/ISBN-10 field, copy and paste the ID number from the pirated copy's URL. You'll find this ten-digit number in the Amazon URL after the word "product," as in the screenshot below. (If the URL extends beyond this number, you can ignore everything from the question mark on.) Once this number has been added, Amazon will pull the product information automatically and add it to the complaint form, so you can check the listing title and make sure it's correct.
Finally, add your contact information to the relevant fields, check the "I have read and accept the statements" box, and then click Submit. You should receive an email confirmation that Amazon has received the form.
Please share this information with your writer friends, keep an eye out for/report pirated works, and help us keep fanfiction free and legally protected!
NOTE: All of the above also applies to Amazon products featuring stolen artwork, etc., so fan artists should check too!
#fanfiction#ao3#piracy#dmca#pirated fanfic#please signal boost#i'm mad but also laughing that my dmc fanfic is now a 'number one best selling novel' lol#i'm also a traditionally-published author#so this is both hilarious and deeply insulting to me

Listen to your elders
So last week I posted abut the importance of downloading your fic. And then three days later AO3 went down for 24 hours. No one was more weirded out by this than I was. But while y’all were acting like the library at Alexandria was on fire I was reading my download fic and editing chapter eight of Buck, Rogers, and the 21st Century. And also thinking about what I could do to be helpful when the crisis was actually over.
So first off, I’m going to repeat that if you’re going to bookmark a fic, you really need to also download the fic and back it up in a safe place. I just do it automatically now and it’s a good habit to get into.
But let’s talk about some other scenarios. Last October I lost power for over a week after hurricane Ian. Apart from not having internet or A/C I did find plenty to do, I collect books so I had plenty to read, but maybe, unlike me, your favorite comfort reads aren’t sitting on a bookshelf. So let’s do something about that, shall we?
In olden times many long years ago around 1995 we printed off a lot of fic. It was mostly SOP to print a fic you planned to reread and stick it in a three ring binder. And that’s totally valid today too, but you can also make a very nice paperback with a minimum amount of skill and materials.
Let’s start with the download; Go to Ao3 and select your fic, we’ll be working with one of mine. This method works best with one shots, long fic tends to need a more complicated approach. Get yourself an HTML download
Open up the HTML download and select all then copy paste into any word processor. Set the page to landscape and two columns, then change the font to something you find easy to read, this is your book, no judgement. This is all you have to do for layout but I like to play a little bit. I move all the meta, summary, notes to the end and pick out a fun font for the title:
No time like the present to do a quick proofread. Congratulations, you’ve just created your first typeset. On to the fun part.
Now you’re going to need some materials: 8.5x11in paper ruler one sheet of 12x12 medium card stock (60-80lb) scissors pencil pen or fine tip marker sheet of wax paper white glue two binder clips 2 heavy books or 1 brick butter knife
You’ll also need a printer, if you’re in the US there is almost a 100% chance your local library has a printer you can use if you don’t have your own. None of these materials are expensive and you can literally use cheap copy paper and Elmers glue.
Print your text block, one page per side. Fold the first page in half so that the blank side is inside and the printed side out:
use the butter knife to crease the edge. Repeat on all the sheets. When you’ve finished, stack them up with the raw edge on the left and the folded edge on the right. I used standard copy paper, because you’re only printing on one side there’s no bleed to worry about. Take the text block and line everything up. Use the binder clips to hold the raw edge in place.
Wrap the text block in the wax paper so that the raw edge and binder clips are facing out. I’m going to use my home built book press but you don’t need one, a brick or a couple of books or anything else heavy will work fine.
Once the text block is anchored down, take off he binder clips and get out the glue.
You can use a brush but you don’t need one, smear some glue on that raw edge.
Go make a margarita, watch The Mandalorian, call your mother. Don’t come back for at least an hour
In an hour smear some more glue on there and shift your brick forward so that the whole book is covered. This keeps the paper from warping. While glue part 2 is drying we’ll do the cover. Get out your 12x12 cardstock
Mark the cardstock off at 8.5 inches and cut it. Measure in 5.5 inches from the left and put in a score line with the butter knife (the back edge not the sharp edge)
Carefully fold the score line, this is your front cover. You have some options for the cover title, you can use a cutting machine like a cricut if you have one, you can print out a title on the computer and use carbon paper to transfer the text to the cardstock. I was in a mood so I just freehanded that beoch. Pencil first then in pen.
Take your text block out from under your brick. Line it up against the score mark and mark the second score on the other side of the spine
Fold the score and glue the textblock into the cover at the spine. Once the glue dries up mark the back cover with the pencil and then trim the back cover to fit with your scissors.
Voila:
I’m going to put this baby on the shelf next to the Silmarillion.
The whole process, not counting drying time, took less than an hour.
If you want to make a book of a longer fic, I recommend Renegade Publishing, they have a ton of resources for fan-binders.
