your mind was occupied with the hundreds of questions you wanted to ask jake, most of which were rhetorical questions where you just found the opportunity to cuss him out for the way he treated you, but you knew that the staff on set probably woulnd’t let you do that.
so you tried to focus on the questions that would lead you to getting the answers you wanted. why he treated you the way he did when his words would be the exact opposite. this year long rollercoaster of situationship with jake not only brought you to the highests of highs but also the lowests of lows.
rollercoaster was an understatement on how unpredictable, unstable, and emotional the last year has been.
jake played with your emotions and as hard as you tried to get off that ride, you were strapped in.
when you saw that this youtube series was doing a casting call for ex-couples, you jumped at the opportunity to send in an application for you and jake; and when the two of you got accepted, you told jake that he needed to go somewhere with you for a recording, explaining that it was something you had signed them up for before they broke up and he just forgot about it because he never listens to you.
to which he responded with a smart comment about how you just think he never listens but “he does”, you rolled your eyes at him and told him the details. that was a month ago and now here you were sitting in your car at the recording studio lot, trying to hype yourself up to face the boy you had an unofficial official relationship with for the last year.
three months isn’t a lot time for some healing to have made its way to you since the breakup, if you could even call it that because you ended up just ghosting him, but you figured that since you were here now, there was no point in backing out and you’d finally be able to ask jake the burning questions you’ve been storing inside of you.
when you walked inside, a nice staff member tells you how the filming was going to be done and it was quite simple. you’d introduce yourselves and the interviewer would ask the two of you questions, in hopes for you to get the answers you may be looking for.
although you wanted to ask jake your own questions, you thought it was only fair that they came up with the questions themselves to avoid any drama or unwanted conflict to occur.
after a few minutes of waiting inside of the green room, the same staff member pops their head into the room to let you know that your episode would start recording soon. they have you stand on a marker on the right side of the room, a wall separating you from the main set where you can hear jake speaking and introducing himself. his australian accent is as thick as ever, trying your best to bite back a smile when you hear his laugh.
when he’s finished, you’re instructed to walk to the x on the floor and introduce yourself, much like how jake had just done. as you walk onto the set, you see jake sitting there, his head rising to look in your direction and a smirk is instantly plastered onto his face; like he found it so amusing to see you. or was it arrogance? or maybe it was desire?
either way, the look he gave you was one of yearning.
“hi, my name is yn and today i’m going to being doing an interview with my ex.” you notice jake sitffen at your side when those words leave your mouth; now just realizing that he wasn’t fully aware of what this video was even for as you only told him to show up and the staff member that he was assigned did a poor job of giving enough detail on the filming that he wasn’t able to put two and two together.
jake is about to speak up and ask about what you had just said because he didn’t know that that’s what this video was for but he’s interrupted by the producer behind the camera telling the two of you to do a bit of catching up before he asks you the first question.
“you look good, as always.” jake compliments, the smirk still on his face as he looks you up and down, brushing his hand through his hair: a classic jake flirting tactic.
you mutter a small thank you before responding, “you look.. fine.” you say, trying to sound as bitter as you could when deep down you were fighting the urge to fall for his tricks. you could’ve sworn he’s only gotten more handsome since the last time you saw him three months ago.
“only fine?” he teases and you roll your eyes before giving and saying that he also looked good, to which jake smiles even wider and let’s out a laugh that rung like an angelic harp in your head. “you know, you didn’t tell me this was a video about exes..” jake brings up and you give him a sheepish grin followed by a shrug as you’ve clearly been caught.
you tell him that it must’ve slipped your mind and when he gives you a look that tells you that he doesn’t believe you, you go on to explain that you wanted answers from him and thought that this was the best way to do it without the pressures of being alone in a close proximity to jake.
“why, do i have that effect on you?” he teases again and you roll your eyes, choosing not to answer that but it was okay for you jake because he knew the answer to that already.
“alright, so how long did you guys date?”
you were hesitant to answer becoause you wanted jake to answer first. you knew that he barely saw what the two of you had as “dating” but you wanted to see how he’d answer so that you could answer accordingly.
“a year.” he simply says and it’s probably the first time that jake has ever considered it “dating”
you’re about to answer but jake interjects, “if you could call it that. it was more like a situationship.” he continues.
there it is.
“yeah, a year.” you ask, your energy instantly reaching a low as your hopes of jake seeing you more than a situationship goes down the drain. you knew it was too good to be true, and you’re now beginning to regret even going on this show in the first place.
what was your first date?
you decide that you were going to wait for jake to answer again because you knew that he’d get this question wrong. he always did whenever you and your friends would ask about the two of you. he’d always say…
“it was at a late night bbq”
wrong.
jake turns his head to look at you, a proud expression on his face like he was look to your for validation, expecting you to be smiling and nodding at his answer, but you weren’t and his smile instantly fades when he sees the slight frown on your face.
“that’s wrong, jake. our first date was actually at your jobs luncheon because you forgot you double booked that day so we had to go to your work even instead of our actual first date which was supposed to be fishing at the pier.” you explained, your face still as a stone as you looked into the camera as if you were hoping your expression would transfer your feeling to the viewers watching this video.
like you wanted them to feel how annoyed you were that he got that question wrong and always got that question wrong for the last year.
“oh, right. i always forget that, huh?” he says, shyly scratching the back of his head and all you could do was quickly raise your eyebrows and give him a tightlipped smile; to which jake takes notice over the fact that you weren’t enjoying any of this. which he found strange considering this was your idea.
jake then begins to wonder what all of this was even for. you clearly weren’t having a good time, he didn’t really want to be here, and if he was being honest, none of this was any of these people’s business. what the two of you had was something that only mattered to the two of you, no one else.
who said i love you first?
“neither of us, like he said, it wasn't that type of relationship.” you jumped up, answering before jake could because you were getting frustrated at everything, especially at the fact that after you tried so hard to think that what you and jake had for the last year could’ve been more, you’re only meeting the harsh truth and that wa the fact that what you two had was close to nothing.
“actually, that’s not true. you probably don’t remember because you had a lot to drink that night but during heeseung’s birthday party last year, you got really drunk and i took you home to take care of you and before you fell asleep we had a heartfelt talk about what we are.
you were rambling so much about how you didn’t want me to leave you and that you wanted me to sleep over and stay the night; and so i did.
we fell asleep in your bed but not before i told you that i loved you but i guess you had fallen asleep a lot sooner because you hadn’t heard anything i said. all you responded with was a snore.” he says, the last part being a joke to somewhat lighten up the somber mood that his story brought.
he was right though, you didn’t remember this night. you knew that you got pretty trashed at heeseung’s party but you don’t remember jake ever telling you that he loved you.
that you definitely would’ve remember because it would’ve changed the way things are right now.
“are you being serious?” you whisper and jake nods, “of course, i am.” he adds.
“why did you say it? and why did you never tell me the next morning.” you probe, confused at the fact that you wanted answers but were receiving questions instead.
“i’m not sure. i think i got scared. that i was catching feelings for you but i had been so focused on keeping us casual that i thought i’d scare you away if i brought it up. i mean we were only seeing each other for about 4 months at that time so i don’t know if telling you that i loved you was a good idea…” jake explains and you’re shaking your head in disbelief.
“jake? the reason i ghosted you was because i wanted something more than casual and you didn’t. you’re not about to spin this onto me and make it seem like i’m the one who wasn’t ready for something serious.
and if this was around the time of heeseung’s birthday then it was after the fight we had and why i was drinking so much that night. i was angry that you weren’t telling me how you felt about because you were clearly jealous that i wanted to go to heeseung party and insisted that you came even though you didn’t want me going to another guy’s party.
we fought before we got to the party because you were acting jealous and like we were official when in reality you tiptoed around the fact and never wanted to put a label on us. so no, of course i’m not going to remember that because all i had in my head that night was the fact that you probably would never love me based on how you saw what we had.”
you didn’t mean to unload on jake like that but the words just kept coming out and by the end of it you’re wiping a tear from your cheek and catching your breath as you realize you were talking so fast without any pauses to take a breath.
jake looked at you with an apologetic expression, like he didn’t know this was how you felt when you knew that he was aware before for the last half of your situationship, you were fighting once a month about it and eventually it got so bad to the point you just completely walked away with a notice. some would say, including you, that you ghosted jake but the only ghost was jake as he was left behind, left to linger without a general purpose as he was surrounded with the memory of the past and what could’ve been.
what was the cause of your breakup?
you look up at jake to see if he was going to answer but he’s just looking at you because if jake was being honest, with all of the fights and arguments that the two of you had, he couldn’t tell you with 100% confidence why the two of you broke up.
to be fair, you were the one that walked away.
you cleared your throat before slightly turning to the camera, “i told jake that i wanted something more and that i was done being casual, i asked that dreaded question that a lot of people who are in the our situationship try to avoid ‘what are we?’ and didn’t go well. it led to yet another argument, i think it was like our 3rd one andi we were only halfway through the month.
i got sick and tired of feeling like i wasn’t wanted or desired or that i was incapable of receiving the love that i deserved. don’t get me wrong, jake was sweet and he made sure i felt like i was cared for but when it came down to the nitty gritty, he didn’t have an answer on what we were when i did…
so i left. sure, it was wrong of me to just outright ghost him but to me it was the right thing to do because why was i going to continue pursuing someone that not only couldn’t see eye to eye with me but didn’t see me the way i saw him..” you try not to look over at jake but when he starts to speak, your eyes naturally gravitate towards his direction.
“i would agree, but i think you’re forgetting the part where i said just now that i was scared. i did love you, hell, i still love you but i don’t know if you’d ever see me that way again. i’m sorry that i made you feel unloved because i was too weak to deal with my own insecurities that i was unknowingly projecting onto you.
i should’ve never been afraid to profess my love to you because you deserve someone who would love you and be proud to be loved by you.”
jake’s words have always held weight with you. you loved knowing input on things even when they were small and not the most important.
what should you have for dinner? let’s ask jake.
do these shoes match your coat? let’s ask jake.
does this hairstyle suit you? let’s ask jake.
should you reach out to that friend you haven’t spoken to in years? let’s ask jake.
jake had become someone you could turn to when it came to helping you make decisions because you valued what he had to say, he was smart and socially adept; way more than you, but when it came to you it seemed like jake would lose all of his ability to articulate his words. stumbling or rambling nonsense until he would just tell you to forget about it altogether.
so why is it that right now, in this very moment, jake was able to clearly and verbally express how he felt then and now, when it’s all too late. why couldn’t he have shared this with you when it mattered most, when you needed him to yell at the top of his lungs what you needed to hear, when you wanted nothing more than for him to provide some security for you by whispering into your ear the words he was saying now. it would’ve saved you all of the heartbreak, pain, and inner battle you had gone through the last three months with feeling like maybe it was your fault.
maybe you were too overbearing with jake or maybe you had crossed that line a situationship should never cross. maybe you took everything way more seriously than you needed when the key word was: casual.
but you knew it wasn’t you and it wasn’t just your pride talking. you knew that what you and jake had was more than casual, more than a situationship, and more than what he made it out to be.
is there anything the two of you have wanted to say to the other that you haven’t?
your eyes are fixated onto the scuffed floor of studio, afraid that if you were to speak right away that you may something you regret, and although you wanted nothing more to finally tell jake how you really feel, burning passion and anger and all, you decided to hold back for a moment and think about what you should say opposed to what your emotions wanted to say.
“for me…” jake starts
“i’ve always wanted to tell you that i see you more than how i’ve treated you. i know it’s not much now considering where we are in each other’s life but i wish i would’ve told you that i loved you before you fell asleep.
i wish that i told you that i loved you when you woke up the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that one, maybe even the days before the first time i said it .
i wish i showed you how much i actually loved you instead of letting fear cloud my judgement and drive me away from how i truly felt. i did love you, yn. i still love you and i’m sorry that this is all coming out at the wrong time.
i’m sorry i couldn’t give that to you when you had asked for it.”
tears fall down your face and you’re not sure if you’re crying because of sadness or anger. you were sad because this was what you finally wanted to hear. jake take accountability for how he treated you and say it from his own mouth that he knew what he did wrong and knew what he should’ve done– but you were angry because it didn’t make you feel the way you had thought it would.
you expected to be angry, thrashing, and bitter at jake once you finally got his answer, but now all you felt was tenderness. the way jake radiated with guilt you could tell he was being genuine and it played with your mind because you wanted nothing more than to be angry but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it.
jake hands you a tissue before you answer, wiping your tears with sniffles as you try to gather yourself, looking up at jake who’s eyes have gotten slightly red. “i’ve always wanted to tell you how much you hurt me. i know whenever we fought that it would just be us yelling back and forth, trying to throw the blame but never fully expressing what we felt.
and i feel like that was something i should’ve done and maybe it would’ve helped you be able to express your own feelings. obviously we’re adults, we don’t need to coddle one another but i can’t help but think that maybe if i was more compassionate and less acussatory then maybe things would’ve worked out. that maybe if i encouraged myself to speak with empathy instead of anger then you would’ve done the same.”
do you regret breaking up?
jake instantly says yes, like he knew this question was coming and although you don’t respond right away, jake’s demeanor doesn’t falter as he stood beside his answer.
“i don’t know..” was all you could say and for a second sadness flashes in jake’s eyes but it’s soon replaced with a look of kindness as he knows your answer wasn’t meant to hurt him but was rooted in the history of you both.
would you two get back together?
this time jake doesn’t jump up at the answer, he waits for a moment even though he already knows what he wants to say because he wanted to hear you first. you bite your bottom lip as you think about how you wanted to answer the question because you weren’t even sure yourself what the answer could be.
would saying yes lead to something better? or would it just bring you back into a pattern and create a cycle.
what if you said no and you would’ve never known that your future with jake was brighter than your past.
“yes.” jake says and your head is snapping upwards to look up at him, surprise clearly spread across your face. “i was so happy she reached out to me about this video, i hadn’t heard from her for three months so i was happy to see her contact appear on my phone. i’d want to get together and start over in a heartbeat.” jake adds.
✧˚ ༘ ⋆。 ˚
“thank you both for coming to film today, it was very nice to have you both. feel free to grab some refreshments before heading out, we’ll have our assistant do some offboarding paperwork with you. thank you, take care.” the producer says and you gather your things, hopping off the stool and heading outside; not even caring that you didn’t do the paperwork they said you’d have to do before leaving.
you’re fiddling with your keys when jake runs out, chasing after you.
“wait, yn! you’re just leaving?” he asks, jogging over to you, slightly out of breath. the sun has long set but the moon in the sky shined a light onto jake that made him look majestic. like something out of someone’s dreams or the pages of a fantasy book. he looked unreal.
“yes? the recording is done, i’m leaving.” you say bitterly as you finally get the key into the slot, opening the door but jake stops it from fully swinging open. “jake, let go.” you say with an eye roll and he stays put.
“did you really mean that?” he asks, eyes pleading for an answer to the last thing you had said when answering the question about getting together.
✧˚ ༘ ⋆。 ˚
“no, i wouldn’t get back together. it would show that i don’t respect myself if i got back together with someone who didn’t respect me enough when we were dating. i deserve better than that.”
✧˚ ༘ ⋆。 ˚
those words echo inside both of your heads, jake forced to think about how it would haunt him knowing the way he made you feel while your own words lingered in your mind as you tried to convince yourself you meant what you said but deep down you only said it because it was you being scared.
the same exact way that jake was scared.
“yes, i meant it, jake. i deserve better.” you say, your voice slightly trembles and you hope that jake didn’t hear it. he’s just staring into your eyes, looking for any sign that you’re lying, that you want to try and start over, but when he isn’t able to find what he’s looking for in your eyes, his head falls with a slight sniffle.
“okay… i respect your decision. take care of yourself, ok? i hope you find the one who will treat you the way you deserve. i’m sorry i couldn’t show you that i could’ve been that person.” and his grip on your car door loosens, the door slightly swinging open as you watch him walk away. his back turned towards you as he walked off, his arm moving to his eyes to wipe his tears as he walked to his own car.
maybe, you shouldn’t have lied and just told him that you did want to start over.
but you couldn’t risk your own happiness on “maybe”. you needed a definitive and solid answer; and you didn’t get that today no matter how many times jake apologized, told you that he wanted to start over, told you wanted you wanted to hear.
none of it translated the way you thought it would because you came in here hating jake but now you’re walking out hating the fact that you couldn’t bring yourself to be honest with him the way you wanted him to be honest with you all those months ago.

im not tagging this, he can just be for you my beloved moots & followers LOL,,,🥹💦
isaac being thrust into the dol setting WOULD be possible i think, and wouldn't be too much of a deviation from his previous lore. this is the only finished art of him i have atm btw! threw together a little fun page with it :> some thoughts below:
firstly, the accent would make him stand out. he's american and sounds like it. its a bit harder to pin down where he's from in the us tho, since he refrains from using too much regional dialect. (i vc him sounding like mr nightmind nick nocturne hehe :3c)
a freelance journalist, he'd be interested in the sordid rumors circulating about doltown. being as the pc is a very active person, i think he'd probably run into them a few times and eventually put together that they're on the up & up and proposition them to give him insider info about whatever fucked up shit they find out along their various jobs — by that time of this meeting, he'd be in the know about the pc's money situation & make sure to pay them for their info.
if the player takes his deal, the pc could then either give him actual info or fake info: he will figure out youre lying - at least when it comes to most things! he doesn't wholly believe in the supernatural, so if you were truthful about like, the IW or something, he'd go along with it and pay you but he doesn't believe you. outlandish claims will net you less pay too..!
he doesn't start off as a LI, nor somebody who the pc can sleep with. you can make a pass at him! he'll play along for the most part, but he'll always decline to actually get physical with you.
calling for help at night outside around town has a low chance of getting isaac's attention. this is where you see a slip in his personable, charming all-american boy mask; the pc will note that after scaring their attackers off, isaac seems a lot more closed off and brusque when checking on the pc before leaving.
the killing would most definitely start after the first time he rescued the pc. important to note: he isn't killing for the pc specifically, there is no yandere trope happening there! it would definitely cause a buzz around the town, as it would be grizzly and something of a statement piece.
if you noticed the ghosties in the bg behind his art, that was on purpose lol! isaac is specifically a GF oc — i dont really think this would change. i pull a little from the movies but lean pretty heavy in dbd's version for inspo! ie — isaac is the original, there were movies based off his killings, copycats cropped up now and then, he shares the same 'freelance journalist' thing as danny (and the fake names, isaac isnt his actual name). for a dol setting, i think id just mesh what i already have in that 1. He is the og Ghostface 2. There are movies based on his killings & copycats came from it.
thinking on how he'd of stumbled into doltown; i'm thinkiiing, there was too much heat in the states, as the cops began to get closer to his trail, so he dipped. he's legitimately a journalist by day, so he probably took an overseas job that involved looking into the "whacky zany town of dol!" — unfortunately for everyone in town, he's pretty damn good at his job & whatever dumb thing they'd of wanted him to actually write about, he'd of steered immediately towards the darker rumors of the town.
as for kissing him? mmm it would be poooossible... but it would probably be a volatile slow burn haha. his relationship with sex isnt good, so a pc that tried to jump his bones would get a big fat sims tier --🧍♂️negative interaction. he may eventually give in if pushed hard enough, but its more of a hatesex thing at that point — which some pcs may be gunning for! more power to em haha. i think you could also get more of a "good route" going but its like, ""good"" only by comparison of the alternative. :") he's still a slasher! and even if he were a LI with full love for you, that wouldn't save you from his impulses or ideations. tbh, he'd probably wana kill you more if he "loved" you!

Medieval Default Underwear Collection
It's finally done! If you don't know, I love playing the Ultimate Decades Challenge. It's honestly what I play the most whenever I'm actually playing the game. My family is currently in the mid 1300's. One thing that's always bothered me is that the default underwear in CAS doesn't quite feel immersive for UDC gameplay. So I decided to create this collection for just that! It replaces the default underwear for all ages and genders, is compatible with WW, and all meshes are base game compatible. However, if you run into any issues with the meshes and possible missing packs do let me know. This was my first foray into really messing with the game meshes, and I am not at all skilled in meshing yet.
Good to know:
You can only have one set of default underwear in your game at any given time.
These conflict with anything that replaces the default body mesh in CAS, such as Luumia's TIT-E, Hiroki's BB, etc. You could have both in game at the same time, but, you need to make sure the game reads these files first if you want them to show up. Placing them in a folder named "!! DEFAULT UNDERWEAR !!" for instance should make the game read them first. But it is not foolproof, and you may need to mess around with it. Defaults can be sensitive and finicky.
The child female shift does have some clipping if your sim is wearing a two piece outfit and you only remove the top, since the dress is actually a top. The bottoms included are a recolor of the default panties for child females in the same style as the dress as to not ruin immersion with bright blue knickers, lol. There's also a small gap in the mesh that I just could not fix for the life of me. However it is very small and only noticeable in some trait animations.
See images below for what the underwear looks like. Toddlers and infants have the same cloth diaper with side ties which I felt was kind of appropriate for the era?

Join a Country Club Mod
Hello! Unfortunately, Rock Ridge Country Club has closed down due to financial mismanagement and embezzlement. However, your sims now can join an even better club: Cedar Creek Country Club!
I’m excited to announce that I’ve completely reworked the Country Club mod from scratch. This mod holds a special place in my heart as it was the first one I ever made, and I’m thrilled to present it with improved quality and new features.
If you’ve used my previous Country Club mod, you’ll notice both differences and similarities. So, how does the new mod work? Your sim can apply to become a member of Cedar Creek Country Club. This time, the process is more challenging, with the possibility of rejection, requiring more effort both financially and mentally.
However, the application process is streamlined for a smoother experience. Steps to become a member:
Pay Application Fee: This is a 5000 simoleon nonrefundable fee.
Fill out Application Form
Schedule Interview: Choose between two time slots and attend within 24 hours.
Write Letter of Interest
Submit Reference Letters: Cedar Creek requires two reference letters from current members. Your sim can ask a member directly or post on the Cedar Creek community forums. If a member is interested, they may call and offer to write a reference letter. This method is more challenging.
Attend Information Session (Optional): If you have questions about the club or application process, attend an information session available on weekdays.

• Charisma
• Interview Outcome
These elements can greatly increase your chances of getting accepted into the country club.
Once they become a member and pay the $10,000 initiation fee, your entire household will also gain Cedar Creek membership.
As a Cedar Creek member, there are ongoing fees to pay. You can choose to pay annually (over four weeks) or quarterly (over one week). It’s important to stay on top of these payments to maintain your membership. There are many activities your sim can partake in with family and friends. You can find these options on the computer in the Country Club pie menu.
Your sim can try to appeal to the country club if they have been rejected, kicked out, or blacklisted. The chances of getting another shot are very low, but high charisma can significantly help.
If they get lucky and are invited to meet with the admissions committee, they have a few hours to attend the meeting and must commit immediately. If they were previously kicked out, they will still need to pay the initiation fee again.
Lot Trait
I have also added a Country Club lot trait with the mod. So as a Cedar Creek member if you don't feel like going to rabbit hole activities you use the country club lot trait and use it on any lot.
I wanted the Country Club lot trait to be customizable, so random members won’t show up automatically; you need to assign members to make it exclusive.
You can assign members by left-shift clicking on the computer and finding the option under the country club pie menu. There are a few social interactions available for different sims at the country club, depending on their roles.
The lot trait is straightforward, but the key is to assign members. You can also remove members using the same method.
Does this mod require any DLC?
No, it does not.
What else do I need for the mod?
Lumpinou's Mood Pack Mod, so it is required for the mod to work properly.

INCHARGE - TS4 body preset
Uhh hi! This is my first major piece of CC. I mainly made it for my OC, but wanted to put it out here cause there really just aren't a lot of fat preset options for masc frame sims.

General - Masc frame only, T-E - Enabled for all occults - Enabled for random (2%)
Disclaimers - Body presets can be finicky! There is no guarantee that they will look the same in everyone's game, esp depending on what other CC or overrides you may have. (I can only say that I do have a ton of custom sliders in my game and haven't had any issues with them personally) - While I did what I could to minimize the issue, this preset does distort some clothing (and also becomes distorted with some pants). Additionally, I've noticed that a lot of clothes made for fem frame sims tend to distort the chest (although I was able to combat the distortion with this mod) - Clipping (especially between the arms and torso, and in beds) with certain animations and poses is also unavoidable, sorry!
TOU - Don't reupload and/or claim as your own. - Editing for personal use is fine! - Drastic edits or conversions can be uploaded so long as credit is given and no paywalls are used.

Loooong Saving after using Regul Save Cleaner? Try Kuree's Save Cleaner 1.1
For any fellow Sims 3 oldheads, you may remember that the known save cleaner before Regul's tool was by Kuree.
While Regul's tool is effective and easy to use, I personally find it makes my first save after cleaning take aaaaages to the point where sometimes I just give up and have to force close the game. I've heard others have this issue so I thought I would re-remind everyone of this other tool, which I find to be almost as effective at cleaning as Regul's and not have the super long save issue.
It is called Kuree's Save Cleaner 1.1 and I have made a tutorial for you after the cut!
Part One - Downloading
What you'll find by Googling it is the link here to version 2.2 . I advise against this one. Not only did it stop working for me when the game updated to Patch 1.69 all those years ago, but others have reported issues too with it cleaning too much, such as paintings. I have no idea if it works with Macs and I have no idea if Steam users on 1.67 can use 2.2 since I don't use it.
Instead, I use version 1.1, which has been re-uploaded here by the queen of preserving sims content, Sweetdevil.
Part Two - Using It
As I mentioned, Regul's is very user friendly. This one is less so.
Unzip/unrar the Save Cleaner 1.1 file you downloaded from one of Sweetdevil's links.
Back up your save! Copy your save folder. It will be whatever you called it and located in My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves > Your Save Folder Name. Paste it somewhere safe.
Open Save Cleaner 1.1 folder, then double click Save_Clean.exe and press "Choose Save"
Navigate in Windows Explorer to My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves and choose the save you want to clean
It will only let you choose a file that has your "world name.nhd" so choose that one.
Then press "Start Cleaning", it will remind you again to do a backup, press yes to continue and then it will do its thing.
Done! You can check the save folder again if you want to see how much it cleaned since it won't give you the satisfying "this much cleaned!" like Regul's does but I find it more satisfying when my subsequent save actually finishes, personally.
Part Three - Cleaning Comparison
Here are the comparisons of how much each save cleaner cleans up the same save file:

As you can see, Regul does clean a bit more. But the substanial amount of cleaning is performed by both programmes, and I just find Kuree's to not cause the very long saves that Regul's does. Your mileage may vary, as always.
Whichever Save Cleaner you choose, it's a great practice to use one periodically. I typically use it when I notice my save games getting above 60mb but that's just me. It can really help your game load faster and remove some of the junk.

The originals have been revamped. All meshes have been completely redone from scratch. I have fixed some chunkiness, wobbliness, and other strange issues that have been present in the originals since 2019. I also went ahead and made at least 1 new shape for each family while I was at it (plus a bonus shape for Classic that I made as a personal edit, years ago, and forgot about until now)
You may notice a folder labelled 'OLD VERSION' when you click on the download link. These are the original 2019 files, and they are still available if you prefer or need them for any reason whatsoever. You can have both editions in your game at the same time. Any sims wearing the old version will have to manually update to the new ones once you install them.
They are available on the following slots:
Acne
Brow Scar (Occult Brow)
Face Birthmark (NEW!)
Forehead Crease
Hat
Right Brow Ring
You can have any combination of the slots installed in your game, or all of them at once (there is an all slots merged package for your convenience, in this case). If you have multiple slots installed, you can mix and match different antennae on different slots to make your own unique combos!
So what's new?
All the meshes have been remade to look a little smoother, while still staying as close as humanly possible to the shape of the originals.
They have all LODs now!
The placement of the UV maps has changed as well, and as you may be able to see from the Irked images, they can pick up some patterns from your sims' faces now in addition to just colors! (They can all do it, but on my models, Irked is the only shape that really demonstrates this. Play around with antenna/skin overlay combos and see what you get!)
There are also better weights now! The longer antennae especially, as seen below the cut, needed improved weighting. They bend with the body now, instead of clipping through it so much. But, there will still be come clipping issues on larger sims and in some animations. There's only so much I can do
And, perhaps the biggest quality of life improvement, they only take up 1 thumbnail spot in CAS. Simply change the swatches as though you were changing colors to access all of the unique shapes!

The Sims 2: 20th anniversary - Gigantic Baby Costume Updated
This thing is cursed, you say? How dare you.
Since I learned how to add face morphs to meshes, I thought to myself “what better way to celebrate this anniversary than updating this classic, this piece of Sims 2 history, this iconic masterpiece by bootsbrisket?” Of course all credits go to them!

Here’s all the changes for my version of this costume, which basically makes it so it’s actually, in fact, a real giant baby, not a costume anymore lol:
-I split this into two pieces: the body, found in fullbody outfits, and the head, found in the custom hairs section. This makes it so you’ll see the baby head on the pie menu, instead of the Sim’s head that’s wearing it underneath.
-Both pieces are available for all categories, unisex and ages range from young adult to elder.
-Added all face morphs using the original toddler face as a reference.
-Replaced the bones assignments on the body, this time using the toddler diaper outfit as a reference. Now they’ll look smoother.
-The body outfit replaces the original cc by bootsbrisket, so delete the original one if you have it. The head is a new piece of cc hair. You’ll probably find the head at the top of your custom unnatural hairs catalog, and the body buried (no pun intended) all the way at the bottom of the outfits catalog, right before the maxis clothing, due to how old the original one is.

Known issues:
-Due to how the Blender plugin works for the Sims 2, I haven’t been able to avoid making the head look bright in CAS. This is a sorta common issue that’s easily fixable using Milkshape3D, but again, I could only use Blender for the head mesh. Luckily, there’s Lazyduchess Overly Bright CAS fix, which I totally recommend you use to avoid this minor annoyance.
-While the eyes are fully animated and open and close as they should, the direction they look at won’t be animated. Haven’t figured out a way to implement that into a custom mesh yet.
-When the baby head opens their mouth, the nose’s Sim underneath might clip a little bit inside the mouth. Not very noticeable, but if you want to avoid this, you can make the Sim with an invisible skin like this one by MDP.
-This is something the original mesh had too: due to the size of the giant baby, there might be some clipping with itself in certain animations. Nothing too bad though I think.
And last but not least, some small tips to set up this Giant Baby character:
When the Sim wearing this goes to the shower, they’ll change into their naked adult bodies, which might look pretty creepy. Fortunately, there’s a way to make this outfit showerproof: the Never Nude trait and mod by Hexagonal Bypiramid! Change all the Sim’s outfits to the baby body, most importantly their swimwear, and place the Never Nude trait on their inventory.
Same goes for job outfits. If you want this Giant Baby to follow their dreams and pursue their professional career, they might change into something else when they go to work. For this I recommend the Job Outfit Stopinator by episims. Same as the other one, install the mod and place the object in the Sim’s inventory to prevent them from changing into job outfits.
And voila! You now have a fully functional Giant Baby Sim!

I'm not well versed with The Sims 4, but after my recent video where I mentioned revisiting it after many years (like we're talking 2015/16), a few viewers asked me to put together my mods list because they want to enjoy Sims 4 too and had no idea where to start.
Last Updated: 12/17/24 - swapped out default eyes for the 'Atmospheric Eyes'. Added 'Auto Check Toddler & Infants Tweaks' by LittleMsSam.

CAS and Default Replacements
Body Hair Replacement (Luumia Edition): Replaces EA's terrible body hair textures with Luumia's textures.
Default Replacement Cutlery: Replaces the EA fork and spoon textures with nicer ones.
CAS Room - Plant Lover: Really pretty CAS background room.
Atmospheric Eyes: Default replacement eyes.
Remove EA Lashes: Removes EA's chunky eyelashes so I can overlay my pretty ones.
Cumulus Clouds: Overrides the default clouds in the sky to be a lot high texture and prettier. I use 'Alfsi_clouds_cumulus02_mesh'.
Cherry Tree Override: Replaces the default cherry tree to a better texture.
Luumia's Body Hair: Body hair that appears in the 'tattoo' category. Looks very realistic.
Luumia's Vanilla Skin Default: A nice smooth default replacement skin.

Gameplay Mods
MC Command Center: Adds greater control to your Sims 4 game experience and NPC story progression options.
MC Woohoo: Allows various common Woohoo options to be available as settings.
Small Vegetarian Overhaul: "Vegetarian" no longer has to take up a personality slot in Create a Sim. Your sims can have all three of their precious personality traits and still be a vegetarian if they want to be.

More Names Variety (+Expanded Random Names): If your sims visit Sulani, San Myshuno and Mt. Komorebi often, the game will generate sims to populate festivals, streets and to take part in activities. These townies do not get their names from the same list you have in CAS (randomized) but have separate lists of culturally appropriate names. These lists are short (some only 10 names long) and you may have noticed some repetition or have grown tired of seeing the same names over and over again.
Better Elders Mod: Adds new social interactions, social events, and gameplay options for elders.
Dental Care: Sims can get cavities, have bad breath, need and receive braces, toddlers can teeth and teens can have wisdom teeth extracted.
Divergent Sims: Focuses on neurodiversity, self-esteem, mental health, addiction, evaluation, and treatments. This includes a detailed variety of 25 anxiety, developmental, learning, mood, neurological, personality, body, eating, and mental health conditions affecting infants to elders as well as 4 addictions affecting young adults and older.
Eye Care: Adds basic eye care to your game. Regular eye exams, contacts, and eyeglasses can help identify and then mitigate these issues. Laser Eye Surgery is also an option for some conditions.
Career Day Overhaul: Adds many new features to the existing in-game events. (REQUIRES: High School Years and XML Injector)

disclaimer: i'm not a CC expert, but these are things i've noticed and learned these last couple months converting cc. special thanks to thornowl and the other converters in the TS3 Creators Cave discord.
Non-recolorable presets:
we obviously know that ts4 lacks a CASt tool, so ts4 creators rely on recolors. In my conversions, I do include a couple of the item's recolors. these usually are patterns that CASt does not have.
one thing I've noticed more and more converters doing is putting such item recolors in the 'Overlay' tab in TSRW.
let me show you what that looks like for a non-recolorable preset:
it looks over-saturated, and almost crunchy. but there's another place you can import the recolor into: stencils.
stencils will be found at the bottom, under patterns. hit the plus sign next to stencils to open it.
opening it will show you this:
by default, it will be enabled as false. import your recolor into the texture tab as you would do for any other texture tab. make sure you tick the 'false' to 'true.' stencils override overlays, so if you want to use an overlay, enable stencils back to 'false.'

see how different they are? let's see how they are in game:
click on the pictures to really see the difference in quality. since TS3 uses DDS. format, it compresses the texture, which results in the crunchy texture. importing the recolor into the overlay tab makes the DDS. compression more noticeable. it ultimately is up to you and whichever one you prefer, but do keep it in mind.
the overlay tab is good for small details that you want to maintain on all recolorable presets, like zippers, buttons, tags, etc. just look at EA clothes for reference, especially their shoes and male clothes.
another thing you can see from the images are the bumps on the mesh. doing normal maps can help you keep those same details on the recolorable presets without importing the recolors.

DDS. settings:
something I also see and used to do myself is bloat package files with large file sizes, specifically normal and specular maps, as well as masks. the Sims 3 Tutorial Hub provides a link to plain maps, but the file sizes are unnecessarily big.
let's look at some of EA's maps in TSRW:
here's the specular from one of the basegame sweaters. notice the image size, DXT format, and compression size.
a lot of converters don't want the shine on regular clothes, so we use a plain, black specular map. but ask yourself, why do you need a 1024 x 1024 purely black specular map with no details?
let's try sizing it down:
notice the difference between the image and compression size. instead of bloating the package file, we can keep it down by using a 32x32 plain black specular map instead, since there aren't details we want from the specular map.
same goes for normal maps:
and masks (meant for 1 channel only):
now, notice how I underlined the info about DXT MipMaps. see how the normal map has a different number there compared to the specular map and mask.
the reason these textures use different DXT is because of the colors and alpha channel.
here's how my DDS. settings appear when saving:
DXT1 (no alpha): this keeps only the 3 color channels and has the strongest compression. it results in half the file size as DXT3/5. 3 channel masks should be saved with this, as they don't need an alpha channel.
DXT1 (1 bit alpha): this includes an alpha, but only black or white. it also results in half the file size as DXT3/5.
DXT3: this one is rarely used for TS3 textures. it really is only used for overlays. it compresses the same as DXT5, but may not be the best for images with smooth-blended alpha regions (Neely).
DXT5: multipliers and normal (bump) maps should only EVER be saved with this. it's best for colors but has a larger file size. this is why it's important to reduce the multiplier and normal map image size, especially if you don't make a normal map.
if you DO decide to do a specular and normal map, they should be regular image size, 1024x1024, and saved in the right format.
here is more information on which textures should use which compression.

Adult to Teen Conversions:
the default for converters is obviously AF and AM. a lot of people want the items for teens too. I've seen several converters just enable it in TSRW:
please don't do this. it's honestly the lazy route. you can hardly ever get away this, specifically because of the body differences between adult and teen.
some major issues with this include gaps, seams, and unnatural body characteristics:
so please, either skip the teen mesh entirely or spend the time reshaping the mesh. @/sweetdevil-sims has a great tutorial on converting meshes from AF to TF here. the inevitable seams on TF meshes are also now fixed, thanks to @/thornowl with their new version of mesh toolkit.

Captain John Price
It’s not often, but Price will occasionally play the Sims when he truly has nothing else to do. He’s not particularly creative with it though, just lets the game randomly generate a character and then lives their life with the quirks they have. Still, good fun!
John figured you’d play the opposite to him, testing the limits of the game and torturing your Sims with that simultaneously wonderful and terrifying mind of yours - beyond the army John doesn’t have the creativity to turn Sims into experiments that violate human rights. So imagine his pleasant surprise when he notices you playing relaxedly with a whole family that looked like you and him, taking the greatest care in making sure everything goes well
“Having fun there, love?” he smiles, looking over your shoulder. When you zoom in on the little Price you made in the Sims and then comment how it’s not nearly as handsome as the real thing, he swears you’re single-handedly warming up this jaded heart of his
He could watch you all day as you tinker on the game, but he naturally acts as your anchor. He doesn’t care if this is just a Sims version of you, you are not hijacking that spaceship and blasting off to god knows where! Ultimately he can’t stop you but the conversations that have come out of your antics are very entertaining
John nods along as you animatedly talk about the little virtual family you made. Whether it’s the family itself or your choices in customising the home, he’s listening and he’s remembering. He might not have infinite money like when you’re playing with cheats but it’s in his nature to give you his all, and he won’t stop giving until he’s made an imitation of your dream on the screen
Simon “Ghost” Riley
He hasn’t touched the game, he’s not particularly interested but he’ll definitely be around you when you play. Simon will be doing his own thing, but upon hearing the signature background music of the Sims you’ll see the slightest bop of his head
It was one day, he walked past you, his eyes flickering on the screen while you zoomed up on a character with features suspiciously like his. He watches silently as you zoom out, and there’s a character that looks like you as well and- is that a kid?
“Looks nothin’ like us,” he says simply at the family. “Not my fault you don’t have an imagination,” you stick out your tongue. “I’ll install some mods for more customisation.” He was just cracking a joke but it’s endearing how seriously you take your virtual counterparts
Simon doesn’t just observe the family, he also observes the rest of what you’ve customised. Is that your dream house? Ah, it seems you like that style of furniture. Simon will keep that in mind the next time you have to go shopping, or will find small gifts for you with the same general aesthetic
Has the uncanny ability to speak simlish - or at least replicate the sounds. It sounds straight from the game, you have no idea how he picked it up or why. If you ask he says it’s because “you’re bloody addicted to playin’ that thing”. All you know is that if one of the Sims shouts out something Simon will actually grumble out a response under his breath
Your Sims family has become a little mental vision board for Simon. To keep fighting to return home, to slowly but surely clean up the mess that is his broken mind until he can guarantee a future with you that is equally as tranquil and colourful as the little pixels on your screen
Johnny “Soap” MacTavish
Johnny loves his action and exhilarating games, shooters, horror, you name it. As such, he doesn’t play Sims much but if he does, he’s treating his randomly generated sims as human lab rats
Roasts your character customisation to hell and back. Johnny’s gripping onto you, shaking you back and forth, dramatically whining about how his eyes aren’t that specific shade of blue, his mohawk isn’t that big and you’ve got his nose all wrong- what are you doing?!
He’ll complain but if you actually give him controls he’ll customise his own character to look noticeably worse. Just don’t ever give him access to this game because he’ll also make your character look nothing like you
That being said, Johnny gets really into the little family you’ve made. He’s actively discussing with you the furnishings that should be used in the house, if your virtual child should be a ghost hunter or a fortune teller, and if you need a bathroom break he’s ensuring no one sets the virtual house on fire
You better not tell Johnny that you’ve added pets into the virtual family because Johnny is already out the door to the nearest animal shelter. If there are things that these stupid little Sims have that is easy to get or Johnny already wanted, he will get
At the odd moment, you’ll catch Johnny getting quite sentimental over the game. Working in the army is chaotic, never mind his actual role as demolitions expert, it’s hard for him to ever imagine a day where he settles down. But watching you fret over whether this virtual couch should be placed on the left or right side of the living room has him looking forward to that day (by the way you should put the couch towards the back)
Kyle “Gaz” Garrick
Kyle has honestly tried every game under the sun if it’s casual and entertaining enough, from PVP shooters to laid-back simulators. If you’re not playing Sims, then he will be. But if you’ve beaten him to the punch he doesn’t make you stop, only sitting back and watching you keenly, commentating and giving you suggestions
He’s actually been part of the creative process since Day 1, when you made Sims versions of you and him, he tried to find the character customisation features that best resembles yours, but could only lament that he couldn’t make your Sim look as good looking as you
He loves starting off the game where your respective Sims are strangers, going through all the motions of wooing you all over again, proving to you that no matter the context Kyle will win your heart. You may have to comfort him with cuddles if your Sim version rejects his Sim’s advances though
Once your Sims are together, this little flirt will tell you that your Sims need more kids knowing full well what that implies
Kyle likes provoking you a little, discreetly suggesting using the ugliest pieces of furniture available in making your house. When you bite back that you’re going to make sure this house looks perfect, he’ll eventually relent after begging with his signature puppy-dog eyes
He’s memorised some of the Sim’s spoken dialogue, particularly the romance lines spoken in that exaggerated flirty tone. He’ll say it to you out of the blue sometimes, causing you to burst out into giggles
The game is all fun and, well, games, but it doesn’t stop Kyle from looking forward to the future. You might not have access to the grim reaper, you may never be able to build a pool surrounded with toilets in real life, but he’s excited to create his own little home and family with you, whatever it may look like

4t3 Conversion of HLS' Rose's Breakfast Dress
A 4t3 conversion of a gorgeous dress worn by Rose in the movie Titanic, made originally by HappyLifeSims, now to ts3!
This is one took a looot of work because it involves everything ts3 hates (detailed textures, transparency...), but thankfully I got through it haha!
Also it is my 18th birthday today, but here's my little gift to you lol! Hope you like it! Enjoy! <3

NOTES:
For this dress, you have to use the invisible feet mesh or the basegame barefoot mesh because I wanted to use the most UV space I could since the textures are very detailed. You can’t see the feet/shoes anyway, and it also prevents some usual clipping! Get the invisible feet mesh here, by @danjaley!
You’ll notice that there are two packages when you download the zip file: one is the actual dress, and the other one is an overlay/color mix acc, which you can find on the socks category. It recolors the little flowers, as you can see on the preview. Without it the flowers only have a solid color, so you need to use the acc for it to look good! Both have the same thumbnail!

Heya, it's time to present the final version of my beloved Antje. I worked on her since late 2019. It was the very beginning of my new era lol. I started writing Deep End where she have the support role and she should have look exactly the same as her real prototype. That's the goal. I had to admit - her face wasn't that easy to recreate. (Like Adrien's too). But i did my best to get even more resemblance by making a low-effort skinblend and it came out super gorgeous! I'm gonna show you results in the details. Pictures are slightly edited and taken with reshade.
Let's get started.
1. Portrait Zone

The first thing that triggered me in her face is her dark and "muddy" cheekbones. It was the skintone and the blush itself fault. Skintone have multiple colors on the face (some zones are yellow and some are pale & bluish) and it was disturbing to constantly remove this effect on portraits. Now this problem solved! Her face now have smooth colors with warm pink/peach undertones (which i usually remove to get the "porcelain" skin) and smooth cheekbone line. The other important part that may be not really visible is that her neck got shorter to fit the resemblance.
2. Face Proportions

When it gets to the skintone changing - sims may lose some details that makes them resembling. It does happened to Antje but it wasn't that terrible, because i blended some parts of her previous skin (Ephemera's Fresh) and the newest one (Simpicient's Tranquility) I blended eyelids, nose and lips to save the definition. I've added a cheekbone definition to make colors smoothly looking (makeup part not really worked with her) and it gave me an ability to make cheekbones a little lower which looks more accurate. Some little touches i've made: slightly reshaped the lips (they've got "sharper") and widener the jaw. I think i will do some changes in future, because chin and eyes are slightly off to me. Yeah, i'm the perfectionist, but anyway, i love how she comes out in general.
3. Clavicle & Cleavage Details

When i seeked some photos of Antje for references, i noticed that her clavicle and cleavage are not that subtle as my Antje. It's more soft and flat. Anyway, previous version looked unrealistic to me when i took the pics of her body in lingerie. Something was off to me. That's also the reason why i decided to experiment with skinblending. But in fact, i didn't changed the body. I just took original from Simpicient and i really liked how it looks on her. Textures are more realistic and details are smooth like Antje should have.
4. Belly & Spine

Honestly, i don't like how previous belly looked like. It's kind of dystrophic for a middle aged woman. It should be just flat in my view. And again a yellow tone looks a bit odd. Yeah, she still have ribs at the second pic but they're not that obvious now. And a neat button as bonus, lol. Spine is my favorite thing about Antje. She have unusual body shape for a woman - reversed triangle. It's always called "less feminine" and etc. but i found it very sexy. I really love how her spine looks like especially with wide shoulders.

It's the most boring part for me, lol, but they look fine in both variations. That's all. Second ones are just better textured as the whole skintone does. Knees are slightly controversial to me. Maybe, i will rework them later.

These are the smallest improvements, but i decided to show like everything (except nude parts, sorry, but we're on tumblr).
That's all i wanted to show you. It's a little, but honest work :D I love the way Antje transformated just by changing a skintone. She became "older" and that's what i wanted to get. I wasn't sure that i have any luck with skinblending, because all my previous efforts were too bad. This one is a small but important step for developing my favorite character.

Hi hey gurl! I've been trying to understand something... when it comes to performance, is it vertices or polycount that really matters? I’m trying to get a clearer picture of how they affect gameplay. Hope this isn’t too random tho 😂
Hey nonny, thanks for the great question! I'm not sure if you are looking for a non-creator answer or if you maybe have some experience with meshing, but I try to cover some technical aspects that hopefully will make you understand vertices and polygons better! It's a bit of a longer journey, so grab some snacks and settle in!
Disclaimer: This is my opinion and the definitions are how I came to understand them. I believe what I say to be correct, but I am also human and may have misunderstood something, and making mistakes can happen. Thanks for understanding! TL;DR There will be calculations made on every vertex and every face present in a mesh. So the more you have of either, the worse it is for performance, but if the vertex count is much higher than the poly count, the mesh is especially unoptimized and may impact performance more than it would in an optimized state. Vertex and polygons are actually connected, literally. To understand, we need to start with the basics.
Vertices are points in a 3d space that provide the foundations of a grid-like 3d structure, known as a mesh. Connected through lines known as edges, they form a 3d shape. Three edges form a triangle, or tri for short, also known as a face or polygon. These terms can be used interchangeably, but a tri always has three vertices, whereas faces and polygons can have more than three vertices.
A polygon with 4 vertices (known as a quad) is very commonly used in 3D-modelling, because it can be used to create very neat and well-structured meshes (it is easy to make grids using rectangular shapes). A mesh that is made in a grid-like way may have the same overall shape as one made out of triangles, but the flow of the edges is different, and this plays a role during animation. Having these grid-like lines is usually better for moving and animating characters and avoiding shading issues.
Most meshes for games are thus initially made with 4-sided polygons. These quads are usually further broken down into tris if they aren't already, and three is the least amount of vertices needed to form a coplanar surface.
When the quads of the left sphere are turned into triangles, the grid structure will remain intact:
We can further break down the elements of a polygon. Let's take a simple cube. It has 6 sides, or faces, and each face has 4 vertices that make up the corners. But if we count all the vertices, we will notice that each face shares vertices with other faces. So on a simple cube, we have 6 faces and 8 vertices.
Depending on how a mesh is made though, it may have a lot of edges. You can think of those like cuts in the mesh. If we wanted to cut up the cube, we would separate each face from each other. Now we still have the same number of faces (6), but the vertices are suddenly much higher, because now, every face has its own set of 4 vertices, meaning that we have a total of 24 vertices.
In video games, polygons are usually rendered as triangles. So for our cube, that would mean that every face would be diagonally cut in half, giving us a total number of 12 faces/polygons/tris.
If we take it to the next level and separate all of these triangles from each other, the vertex count would be 36! To recount, on a mesh that is not split, it's only 8. Having these cuts (or split edges, as they are commonly called) in strategic places in the mesh where vertices are split can be important for the final look of the mesh in the Sims games.
You may have already encountered some meshes that have dark spots or shading in some parts, often at the hems. That can happen if the mesh is not split correctly in these areas. It has to do with how the normals work (they are important to how light gets reflected off the mesh).
To not go too off-topic, I won't get into detail about that here.
Ideally, a mesh is only split where it needs to be so it will look right. If there are unnecessary cuts, then the vertex count (and with it, the polygon count) goes up when it doesn't really have to be. If a mesh has a lot of these areas where a lot of faces have their own vertices, then the vertex count is much higher than on a mesh with fewer split edges. This can be a sign that a mesh is not well-optimized. So if you see a mesh that has much more vertices than polys, you may want to question it in regards to performance. CC converters will probably know that Sims 4 meshes come with a lot of these cuts that are needed for Sims 4 because of the way the CC is made (for example, pants have such a split edge cut to allow boots to look tucked-in), but those are superfluous for TS3. So I encourage every Sims 3 CC creator to remove those to save on both vertices and polygons when they are converting! The thing is, in the game, the mesh will be processed and there will be calculations made on every vertex and every face present. Each vertex is indexed, and triangles need to be drawn from the information. Other processes will need to also use the vertices for their calculations. There is more going on during rendering than simply drawing the polygons. The shaders have to calculate their effects, the textures need to be rendered and applied accordingly, filtering such as anti-aliasing will be applied, etc. So the more geometry you have in a mesh, the worse it gets in terms of performance. More geometry means that the polygons are smaller and more numerous, which will in turn affect the vertex count too.
As CC creators, we cannot address all the factors that impact performance, as we can only influence a small part, but we can try to adhere to the game's standards to minimize the performance impact as best as we can. If we wish our meshes to be more detailed than what the game's standards are, then we impact the performance more.
Instead of just cranking up detail like crazy, it is good to see if we really need it. And ask questions such as how often will the player view the item closely? If the player is usually far away from the item or it is a very small item, making it super detailed will not really do much, since the item looks the same as a low-poly item from a certain distance. We can also make compromises and maybe make an item 50% more detailed instead of 200% more detailed, providing a more detailed item while minimizing the performance impact.
This is a bit off-topic, but since I'm here already, we may refrain from using a bigger texture for a very plain piece without any notable intricate detail (like a basic T-shirt, for example), since it already looks fine with a smaller texture, but it may pay off for a highly detailed texture which looks visibly better with a bigger texture, warranting the performance impact (like a lace blouse with an intricate pattern, stitching, and small buttons).
On that note, using the texture space efficiently can also do wonders to increase detail. Use all the real estate you have on that UV map (that is a 2d representation of your 3d mesh and used to apply the texture to the mesh). Have you tried upscaling the texture yet? Okay okay, I'll stop now and get...
Back on topic: The number of polygons also matters, not just the vertex count. When a mesh has lots of smaller polygons, a lot of them are necessary to form the entire mesh. Bigger polys will not provide as much fine details, but will have less impact on hardware because fewer calculations to be made. A good mesh uses only as much detail as needed while using as few polygons as possible to still maintain functionality.
Sims clothing meshes need to animate and move well, so they need to be able to flex at the joints, and the shape must also be able to change to accommodate body sizes, thus the mesh needs the minimum amount of geometry to achieve this and still look decent, which is a sweet spot the developers have to find to craft meshes that perform well while looking reasonably good.
A good habit for creators looking to make meshes for the Sims games is to look at similar meshes in the game and study them (so for TS3, check the original TS3 game meshes, for TS4, check the original TS4 game meshes). Check how many polys they use and how good the topology (structure) of the mesh is.
For example, how many rows of edges do they usually have, and what sizes are the polys usually? How many vertices are in one round of edge loops, for example for the arms? How are the different mesh parts connected to each other, where are split edges used? Then imitate that.
The professionals who made these original meshes knew what they were doing, and they optimized them to be gameplay-friendly, so if in doubt, copy what they do.
Game meshes are usually especially optimized and it is very much game-dependent how they are structured, so a mesh from a different game can look totally different. CC Creators looking to optimize performance in their meshes should try to match the original game's mesh in terms of structure and polycounts. This will also ensure they animate well!

Cyberpunk 2077 - RITA SET - TS4 Conversions
Hello Chooms. Before downloading or reading anything, proceed to look at my total Night City baddies wearing it:

ヽ(✿゚▽゚)ノThe set includes:
💜Cyberpunk Tank Top with Kitsch Cybernetic Arms with many colour swatches for the arms (must use overlays to colour the tank top) + Cyberpunk Tank Top with no arms (must use same overlays to colour the tank top). EDIT: Just added a nude version of only the arms, use at your own risk, accessory top/bra links can be found in Recommended CC section below. (THIS REQUIRES THE TANK VERSION TO SHOW UP)
💜7 Tank Top Overlays (found in Middle finger left/right + Ring finger left/right of the rings category). I made it so you can pick and choose overlays or just take the merged file with them all. Don't unmerge any of the files. 1- Plain (35 swatches)
2- Zebra (35 swatches)
3- Kanji (35 swatches)
4- Faux Leather with colour edges (35 swatches) (sorry it is hard to see)
5- Dirty with tape crosses (35 swatches)
6- Plaid (15 swatches)
7- Camo (16 swatches)
💜Bottoms 3 versions: Black with colour gradient (35 swatches) White with colour gradient (35 swatches) Plain (45 swatches). Don't unmerge the file.
There are two versions of black and white plain, this is because I used different methods and liked both effects. You can't see much in the pic, but there are slight differences in shine and the way the textures show. The shoes are connected to the pants and other shoes don't show, but you can use high heel shoes even if they don't show if you want it to sound like heels in game. - Gun holster accessory (found in hat category, not compatible with hats or cc items using the hat UV space). Can be layered over these tops and others.
3 Versions (sorry about the texture quality of this item, it was not much UV space left and a very complicated mesh): - Random cyberpunk textures and inspired designs (15 Swatches). - All colours in plain (35 Swatches) - All colours with black zebra print on straps (35 Swatches)
💜SKIN ITEMS: Mox Chest Tattoo (Chest tattoo category, 4 swatch variations of size and placement) + Rita's Face Cyberware (upper back tattoo category) + Shiny Doll Skin Overlay (face skin detail, forehead category) you can't see much, but basically makes the skin look shiny like plastic like Rita Wheelers in Cyberpunk.

💜Disclaimers / Important info
All items have specular and normal maps.
All items are tagged correctly (as far as I know) and have the correct colour labels.
All items are disallowed for random townies.
All items (once again as far as I know) can be worn on male frame (disable the masculine tag and they appear) From now on I'll make sure to do this for all cc's since I didn't realise it was being restricted before until I tried to take some pics of a sim with male frame for this post. Since then I've fixed it all and tested it and it fits the body fine even though I made it to fit the female frame. I may fix my older sets soon too but I'll need to test they work ok.
Let me know if something doesn't appear, or if you have any issues or notice any glitches at all.
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️- Very high poly items, use at your own risk if your machine struggles with the sims. I couldn't reduce the poly anymore without noticing the mesh getting worse. - Some items are slightly low texture quality. I don't play with HQ mod or do HQ textures, so sometimes the textures when baked downsized show some jagged edges or pixel effects if you look super up close. You can see it a bit on some of the gradient pants or on the gun holster which as an accessory I didn't have much UV space to work with, no matter how much I tried to simplify the mesh. - Tanks have no swatches, don't forget overlays to colour the tank. - When using the tank overlays in the different ring categories make sure you don't equip more than one or they'll clash, the different ring categories for the overlays are just so you can use it in another slot if you require another accessory from that finger section) - Make sure not to add merged files as well as other packages that form them or you'll have duplicates. - Don't unmerge any files, just choose the ones you want and use as intended. If you have to unmerge them for any PERSONAL editing, remerge them again after. - Tank is quite revealing, if you're streaming or something and use adult skins, make sure to check nothing shows or that you won't get any sort of strikes (not that there is anything wrong with it at all). Alternatively check out cc accessory tops or bras that can go underneath like the ones in the Recommended CC section. - Nude version of cyberware arms to match with accessory bras/tops now available, same warning as previous point. Thank you so so so so so so so much to the lovely people and great tutorials that helped me throughout the process providing tips and tricks and info that led me to making this properly <3 It helps me keep making these conversions.
