Night Drive (18+)
Summary: You get a new car
AN: 18+ only y'all--we're gonna pretend that there are plenty of other self-driving cars that aren't t*sla...I hope this makes up for me not putting out another part of AYTO yet! All mistakes are mine.
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Warnings: cursing; reader has a dick; dom//powerbottom!Natasha; sub//top!reader
----------------
You sink lower into your seat as you rev the engine of your new car with the widest grin Natasha can't see. Natasha looks hardly impressed from your view beyond the barely-legal tint of the windows.
You decide to roll down your window and plead your case.
"Hey baby."
Natasha rolls her eyes. You already screw yourself coming right out the gate with pleasantries, Natasha knows you're desperate to get on her good side when you do that.
"So...what do you think?" You vaguely gesture to the rest of the car and Natasha scoffs.
"I think you were a finance bro in your past life," she crosses her arms, and you relent, "probably," you sing as you round the car to lean against the hood. The gun metal gray still holds a shine in the moonlight. This wasn't an impulse purchase, you had been talking about buying a new car for a while now. You would go on little rants about the specs of certain cars whenever you saw them on the road or on TV. It's not like you were waiting when you had the money, being an avenger was a pretty-paying gig. You were just waiting for the right one, at the right time--a method you mastered by the time Natasha came around.
"Wanna go for a joyride?" You offer, already leaning off the hood and spinning the key in your hand.
Natasha wants to keep giving you a hard time, but you look so damn good in front of your sleek, expensive, new backdrop. Your muscles bulge under your fitted black shirt, and you have the cockiest smile on your face, like you knew you were winning this race.
"And if we get pulled over?"
"With SHIELD plates? I'm not worried about it," it almost comes out like it's scripted. You're not above rehearsing a speech for Natasha if it means getting your way. You're pulling out all the stops, but Natasha wants to remind you who's really behind the wheel. Her eyes rake over you slowly, intensely--the same way fresh lava travels over earth. You're standing at attention and you don't even know it.
"You gonna open the door for me or just stand there like you forgot your manners?" Natasha watches in amusement as you fumble for the door handle. She slides onto the cool leather while you make your way into the driver's seat yet again. You wait patiently for her to get comfortable and buckle in.
It's only when you rev the engine with a wink that Natasha muses this might have been a bad idea on her part. You punch the gas pedal and she's quickly acquainted with the back of the cherry red bucket seat.
----------------
Natasha decides that she doesn't like going fast unless the fate of the world depends on it. She also decides this is the one exception when she sees the freeway system of veins in your forearms as you grip the steering wheel. Natasha feels like she's flying when she watches your triceps flex while you turn the wheel or do something as mundane as turning on her seat heater.
Natasha slides her seatbelt off in a way that doesn't set off the sensor--she didn't want this moment to be ruined by a lecture on why it's important to buckle-up. You're too distracted by the beat of your night drive playlist to notice her crawling closer to you.
You feel her lips on the shell of your ear, "eyes on the road, got it?"
"Yes ma'am," you try to say cooly, you don't dare chance a look over at her. She hums with satisfaction and rewards you with a kiss on the skin behind your ear and a nibble on your lobe that tightens the coil in your belly.
Natasha sucks and licks at your neck while her deft fingers work to undo your belt and zipper. Her hand explores the border of your waistband before dipping under and finding what it was looking for. You let out a whisper of a gasp when Natasha admires your full length and girth. Your grip on the wheel tightens, Natasha chuckles when she hears the leather under your fingers groan.
Natasha begins to stroke you slowly, agonizingly so, but that doesn't keep your hips from bucking up into her hand.
"Tash," that only elicits a rumble against your neck. Natasha's other hand curls around your neck and gives a light squeeze that makes your vision blur for a second. Her stroking picks up speed, you have to work impossibly hard to keep your foot off the brakes.
"Natasha, please."
"I like the way you say please, baby," she mumbles with your skin between her teeth.
"What did I tell you?"
"Eyes on the road, ma'am," you say with a quickness that makes the corner of her lips curl up in satisfaction.
"So smart," she praises before you helplessly watch her head lower until you feel her lips greet your cock with a sloppy kiss. You throw your head back against your seat with a pathetic moan.
"So desperate," Natasha teases, and your mind feels like it's going a million miles an hour--multitasking is usually your strong suit, but it seems damn near impossible now.
Natasha's tongue travels the length of you, your hips feebly buck into her mouth when she finally grants you entrance. You slow your speed to safely take a hand off the wheel and hold her hair back. She thanks you with a gentle squeeze on your thigh and the prettiest sounds you could have only ever imagined.
Your playlist is already repeating itself by the time Natasha comes up for air. She can barely hear it over your panting anyway. You're rock hard and right where she wants you.
"The car can drive itself, you know," you breathe out. Natasha's brow quirks with curiosity.
"Show me," it's a gentle command, but your fingers rush to press the right sequence of buttons. You ease the seat back with haste, and Natasha just lets you sit there for a few beats to take you in and also leave you in suspense.
Your fingers dumbly flex against your legs while you wait for further instruction from Natasha. She doesn't even try to hide her smirk when your eyes begin to dart between the road and her.
"You're not gonna let us crash right, dove?" Natasha's finger traces a feather-light trail down your arm. It's a genuine question, even though she knows you probably did some sizable research on the safety features of the car before you even entertained buying it.
"No ma'am, you're precious cargo," you give an easy smile and that's Natasha's cue to move and straddle your lap. You help her with your hands on her hips, your hands quickly retreating to your sides when she's situated over you.
Natasha swears your eyes are sparkling as you watch her slide her panties to the side with one hand and take your length in the other.
"Eyes on me, baby, just for a second," she coos and you obey. Natasha can't help but admire the striations of your muscles working overtime to restrain yourself. You've always been intoxicatingly obedient, even when it's downright painful. Your eyes are locked on Natasha's, you have to bite your lip to stifle a moan when she finally eases down onto your cock. She's already working her hips in a way that has your entire body buzzing. You can count on one hand how many cars have passed you by this whole time, just like you expected.
Your fingers dig into the leather of your seat, your eyes periodically glancing at the road to make sure it hasn't veered off course for whatever reason. Natasha steals a few sloppy kisses when she leans into you to get a better angle and bounce on your cock at a speed that should be illegal.
"Tash, I'm gonna-," you choke out between labored breaths.
"What was that baby?" she leans back and oh god, you wish you had the kind of self-control your car has right now. You feel like you're going to pass out watching Natasha ride your cock, you're too blissed out to realize that she's spelling out 'm-i-n-e-' with her hips.
"I'm gonna come so fast."
"I know baby."
That seals your fate. Your arm reaches back to brace yourself against the seat. With a long and drawn-out "fuck," Natasha feels you push deeper into her, filling her up with every last drop of you. You both fall into a sweaty, moaning heap against the seat. Your body trembling with aftershocks as Natasha scratches at the skin on the back of your neck. You only get to drink this feeling in for a few seconds until you see red and blue flashing lights in your rearview mirror.
"Shit," you sit up and Natasha freezes when she sees what you see. You feverishly check your speedometer, you're not speeding. You start rifling through your brain to see if you forgot to do something, insurance? Plates? Registration?
Your questions are answered when you watch the cop car speed off into the night. Natasha lets out a heavy sigh of relief that makes your dick twitch, reminding you both that you're still inside of her.
"Told you," you try not to sound so exasperated. Natasha just rolls her eyes before kissing your temple. Night drives might just become a regular thing now.

our girl with the emt!marauders is constantly in pain lol. how would you feel maybe writing about one of the boys getting hurt for a change? she gets called to take whoever home! it can be funny cuz it’s usually her ass who needs saving. (only if it’s tickling that writin itch)
Thanks for requesting babe!
cw: back injury
emt!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 708 words
Sirius is already hobbling out of the front door when you pull up at the curb, James hovering beside him like he’s about to keel over and Remus walking behind them both with a worried indent between his brows.
“Hey.” Sympathy bends your voice as James opens the door for him. Sirius grimaces, slowly lowering himself into the passenger seat. “Wow, I didn’t expect it to be this bad. You can’t straighten up at all?”
“Nope,” James answers for him. He comes around to your side of the car and leans through the open window for a kiss. “He’s strained a muscle in his lower back. Only thing to do right now is rest and ice it.”
Remus passes Sirius his seatbelt before he can reach for it himself. “Try to keep still,” he murmurs, brushing a kiss across his temple before looking at you. “Please try to drive extra carefully so he doesn’t hurt himself, love. And don’t let him do anything at home.”
“This has got to be the first time I’ve been asked not to help out around the house,” Sirius teases. “I’d like to use my current privileges to extend this dish-doing ban indefinitely, please.”
You find yourself in agreement. Is Remus really worried about Sirius rushing home to do chores? Just last week you had to show him where you keep the broom. You’ve lived together for over a year.
Your dubiousness must show on your face, because James laughs and says, “He’s already injured himself worse by trying to put the moves on Remus.”
“Hardly my fault,” Sirius says dismissively. “He’s very tall, have you noticed? I don’t have the proper equipment for mountain climbing.”
You snort, and he grins, a true show of resilience by a soldier down.
“I won’t let him do anything,” you tell Remus solemnly.
“Thanks, lovie.” James plants another kiss on your cheek, rounding the car to lead Remus back inside. “Rest and ice,” he reminds you. “Keep an eye on him!”
“I twinge something in my back and suddenly it’s like I’m not even allowed to speak for myself,” Sirius gripes.
You laugh, putting the car into gear. “Welcome to my world.”
You take Remus’ cautioning very seriously, drifting into all your stops and easing slowly around each turn. The drive takes about twice as long as it usually would, but there are no incidents. When you get home, you do your best to give Sirius the princess treatment the boys always give you when you’re injured or ailing; you insist on opening his door for him and helping him inside, you set up a mountain of pillows to support the ice pack behind his back, and you put the remote in his hand so he can choose something to watch while you make the both of you lunch.
“I feel very lame,” Sirius says as you come back with sandwiches and drinks. It’s a repetition of the same complaint you heard every time you started to slow down for a turn or glanced over to check on him during the drive here. “But I will say, this luxury service is starting to make up for things.”
“Really?” You grin at him. “You’re not experiencing any urges to get out the vacuum or lift heavy things?”
“Oddly enough, no.”
“Crazy.” You take a bite of your sandwich, cozying up on the other side of the couch to watch the film he’s chosen.
“You know,” Sirius drawls, “I realize I’m making this all look very easy, but I wouldn’t reject a cuddle.”
You turn, and your boyfriend is looking over at you with a raised brow. You smile sheepishly. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
He scoffs. “Sweetheart, if I’m too injured to cuddle, they may as well put me down. C’mere.”
You scoot to the other side of the couch, curling into your boyfriend’s side but covertly leaning your weight against the back cushion instead.
“Better.” Sirius kisses the top of your head firmly.
“We probably shouldn’t tell Rem and Jamie about this.”
“Oh no. When they get home, the story is that I was miserable being laid up all day and didn’t enjoy it at all. God forbid I have to do it again tomorrow.”

Bob watched Anna emerge from the bathroom in one of Jessica's cocktail dresses after he picked her up from work and brought her back to his house. "I'm thinking this one?" she asked, turning back and forth in front of his bedroom mirror while wearing the black and white dress. It was a little snug and also a bit short on her compared to how it would probably fit Jessica, but he thought she looked incredible.
"Yeah," Bob agreed, standing behind her and zipping it up. "It's perfect." Seeing her in wedding rings was startling to him, and he had to remind himself over and over again that she had borrowed them as a cover. As part of the ruse. That they belonged to his friend. That she wasn't reconciling with Kevin. "What time do we need to be at the hotel?" he asked, running his hand along her hip as she started to clip her hair up onto her head.
"Eight o'clock," she confirmed. "The cocktail reception lasts from eight until ten, and there's no way Kevin will want to miss a single minute with all of these people who seemingly worship him."
Bob tightened his hold on her, his distaste for Kevin clearly written on his face as he looked in the mirror over her shoulder. She told him he needed to change out of his uniform, so he was wearing a plain undershirt and jeans. He looked a bit ridiculous next to Anna as she swiped some eyeliner on in the shape of a cat-eye before coating her lips in a deep red stain.
"That's pretty," he whispered, and he was rewarded with her turning around to press a kiss to his cheek, leaving her perfect lip marks behind. He didn't bother to wipe it away. He was so thankful she wasn't trying to do this on her own, even though she seemed calm and confident. He didn't want Kevin to have even the slightest opportunity to be alone with her. "You'll call me if you need me to come in," he said.
"Yes," she confirmed for probably the fifth time. "I'll keep my phone on me."
"And you'll get out of there if you don't feel safe?"
Anna nodded up at him, looking so beautiful with a soft smile on her lips. "Yes. My manuscript is not as important as I am."
Bob kissed her deeply. She finally got it. She tried to swipe at the lipstick smudged on his mouth, but they left his house hand in hand with some of the stain left on his lips. He helped her into his truck and took his time driving up to Carlsbad as she navigated along the way for him. When he reached for her hand, she laced her fingers with his, and he chuckled.
"I kind of hate her rings on you," he muttered. "I wonder what Bradley had to say about that one."
Anna made a face when he glanced her way. "I'm sure he's still asking her to explain where they went, and the more she says my name, the unhappier he's going to be with me."
"Nah," Bob replied as he made a left turn. "You're one of us."
She squeezed his hand. "That still sounds almost too good to be true. And we do need to return her rings tonight so he doesn't have a full panic attack."
"That sounds fair," he murmured, looking for a place to stop his truck and let her out. The swanky hotel where Kevin's medical conference was being held was just up the block, and now his heart was pounding.
"This is perfect," she told him, pointing out the window before unbuckling her seatbelt. "Just leave me off right here." He put the truck in park, but when she tried to pull her hand away, he held on tighter. She paused and looked at him before leaning in to kiss his cheek and saying, "I got this, Bob. It's okay." When she tried once more to get out of his truck, he tugged her closer to him. "You have to let me-"
"Anna, I love you."
She froze at his announcement, but he was getting tired of not telling her. He'd been thinking it for ages. He thought he almost lost her before, and he wasn't going to let Kevin of all people potentially ruin her night without her knowing she at least had him to come back to. So as she crawled across the seat toward him, he repeated himself. "I love you."
Anna climbed onto his lap as her lips met his cheek and his chin. "I want to listen to you say that all night," she whispered, finally kissing his lips. "And I want to spend an hour telling you all about how much I love you. But I need about thirty minutes to get shit done first."
Bob laughed as he nipped at her smiling lips. "No rush. I'll still love you in thirty minutes." He would probably still love her in thirty years, and he was more than willing to tell her that later. But right now he had to accept one last kiss from her before he watched her hop down from his truck, put Jessica's high heels on, and start to head for the hotel entrance.
---------------------------
"You can do this," Anna told herself as she tried not to stumble in the shoes that were a half size too small with heels which were way too high. "Just stay focused." But Bob loved her! He said it, and he meant it, and now all she wanted was to run back to his truck. But this was her last chance.
It was ten minutes after eight. Kevin's schedule was giving her enough time to get what she wanted, but only if it went smoothly. Anna had never been much of an actress, but in this exact moment, she needed to pull off an Emmy winning performance if she stood a chance at getting into Kevin's room. She cleared her throat and squared her shoulders as she walked into the beautiful lobby, opened her clutch purse, and pouted in frustration. "Oh no," she muttered loudly. There were a lot of people around, chatting and heading to the bar just past the concierge desk. She threw her head back in faux annoyance and marched in the terrible shoes toward the counter.
"How can I help you this evening?" asked the young man behind the desk with a smile.
Anna sighed and set her clutch down and glanced at his name tag. She made sure the rings on her finger were shining under the light as she said, "In my rush to get to the wine bar down the block in time for cocktail hour, I left my new necklace and my key card in my room. Think you could print me a new one, Marcus? My husband just gifted me the necklace and expects me to be wearing it."
"Of course, Mrs...."
"Webber. Mrs. Kevin Webber. We're here for the Neurological conference. My husband is a keynote speaker." She had to fight back the urge to choke on the words as she forced a smile.
"Right," Marcus replied, tapping away on his keyboard. "Webber.... I found the reservation, but it's only under your husband's name."
When he looked up and met her eyes, Anna wanted to run away, climb back into Bob's truck and give up. Her heart was pounding as she tapped her fingers on the counter and rolled her eyes. "He always does that when he books a room for work. But I'm definitely linked to his rewards account."
She tried to keep her face neutral as she awaited a response. There was no way Kevin would have taken the time to update anything so trivial. He was never one to take the time to update anything. That always fell to Anna. She watched Marcus start typing again as he said, "I'll just need to check your ID, Mrs. Webber."
"Absolutely," she replied coolly, pulling her New Jersey state driver's license that was about to expire from her clutch and setting it down for him. The longer he typed away, the more she started to panic. She wondered if Kevin was already having his first drink at the bar or if he had moved on to his second. As long as he was there, it didn't much matter to her what he was doing.
Finally, Marcus pulled a new key card from the drawer in front of him, programmed it and tucked it into an envelope. He conveniently wrote #609 on it and slid it toward her. "Is there anything else I can do for you this evening Mrs. Webber?"
She shook her head, picked up her license and the key and said, "I think this is all I need. Thank you, Marcus."
Anna turned toward the bank of elevators and counted each step. One, two, three, four, five.... She tried to keep her pace as unhurried as she could while still getting away from the desk quickly. She pushed the little up arrow and waited for the elevator to arrive while she glanced around the lobby to be sure there was nobody who had taken notice of her. When the elevator got there, she ducked inside and pushed the button for floor six and pulled her phone out to text Bob.
I got the key. I'm in the elevator.
When she arrived at the correct floor, she put her phone away and held onto the key card with shaking hands. She could do this. She knew she could. But one step onto the plush carpet, and she stumbled in Jessica's high heels. "Shit," she gasped, reaching for the wall as the elevator doors slid closed behind her. Could she really take Kevin's computer? Technically speaking, it was hers, too. They picked it out together. When he started medical school. She paid for it with her credit card. The one he then maxed out.
She pushed herself off from the wall, more pissed off than upset. Kevin didn't deserve her concern at the moment. He deserved nothing. Room 609. She found it down the left side of the hallway. Just as she raised the key card to swipe it, the door jerked open an inch, and she gasped. Fingers wrapped around the door from the inside as it opened slowly, and she ran as fast as she could for the stairwell, tucking herself inside just as she saw Kevin step into the hallway.
"Fuck," she gasped under her breath, afraid she might throw up. It was close to 8:30 now. He should have been at the cocktail party. Why was he in his room? Terrified that he'd seen her, Anna stood in the stairwell with her back pressed to the wall. She counted to fifty and then to one hundred, but the door never opened. When she peeked out into the hallway again, it was deserted.
"You can do this," she whispered, even as the thought occurred to her that he may still be in the hotel room. There was no way she'd be able to overpower him if he was. Before she could give it too much thought, she knocked on the door and then pressed her ear to it. When nobody answered, she did it again. Then she swiped her card, watched the light turn green, and pushed the door slowly open.
The hotel room smelled like Kevin's cologne, and she gagged, but after a quick inspection of the bathroom and closet, he was definitely gone. Her hands were shaking like crazy now as she checked the desk area for his computer, but it wasn't there. She dropped to her knees and crawled across the floor to his computer bag, but it was empty except for folders and pamphlets from the conference.
"Shit," she said, eyes stinging with tears. She made it this far, and she didn't want to give up now. As she crawled around the king size bed, she saw the computer charging cable on the floor, plugged into the outlet along with his phone charger. And there it sat, tucked halfway under the bed. The laptop.
Anna lunged for it, opening it and waking it up from standby mode. She was prompted to enter a password, and she smiled; Kevin never changed anything. It had to be the same one he was using since college. She entered it, and her smile vanished.
Incorrect Password
"You're joking," she gasped. This was supposed to be the easy part. This was the last thing she was convinced would trip her up. Perhaps she had just entered it wrong with her shaky hands, so she tried it again.
Incorrect Password
"Fuck!" Panic was setting in now. Should she just take it and risk pissing him off if the manuscript wasn't even on it? Her intention had been to check before she did. Her gaze settled on the little fingerprint reader down in the bottom corner near the keyboard. There was simply no way. If he had taken the time to actually update his passwords, then he would have taken the time to remove Anna's fingerprint access as well.
She bit her lip and slid her index finger down to the reader, and she was immediately rewarded with full access to the computer. Her eyes went wide as she tapped on the search option and entered the file name of her manuscript and hit enter, and when it popped up on the screen she burst into tears. She scrolled down and it was there. It was all there.
"Fuck you, Kevin," Anna said, voice hoarse with emotion as she yanked the plug from the wall, wrapped the cord around the laptop, and made her way to the door. She needed to act completely normal right now even though she felt like her heart might burst into a million brightly colored pieces of magic. She rode the elevator down, praying that Kevin was getting intoxicated enough that he wouldn't realize something was missing from his room right away. For the first time in her life, she didn't even care if he brought another woman back with him, but she did almost feel bad for pregnant Alyssa back in New Jersey. Almost.
When the doors slid open revealing the bustling lobby, Anna nearly tripped for the last time. She took her friend's shoes off and held them in one hand with her purse as she started speed walking toward the exit. She didn't see Kevin anywhere, but that didn't mean much since he had been in his room when she got here. Now she was counting on Bob to be where he said he would be.
Once she was outside, she immediately turned to the right toward the loading zone. She started to run barefoot down the sidewalk, and that's when she saw him. He was perfect, standing there next to the passenger side door in his white undershirt, running his hands nervously through his hair.
"Bob!" she called out, her feet already aching, and he came racing up the sidewalk to meet her.
"You got it!" he whispered excitedly. "Anna, Baby, you got it!"
"It's still on here," she breathed as he scooped her up with everything still held tight in her hands. "I got in with my fingerprint and I saw it, Bob. I have it." He kissed the side of her neck once, but otherwise he didn't stop walking. "Did you see Kevin?" she asked.
"Yeah," he grunted, setting her down and pulling the door open for her. "He headed the other way up the block. When he came out after you went inside, I kind of started to freak out a little bit. If I didn't hear from you again in five more minutes, I was going to make my way inside. But you didn't need me at all."
Anna tossed everything onto the seat and scrambled inside, anxious to get out of here, but not before she leaned down to kiss Bob one more time. "That's just the thing though. I'm pretty sure I actually do need you."
He was smiling as he said, "Let's go home."
---------------------------
Anna was holding the computer to her chest while Bob drove down the dark local roads of Carlsbad and got onto the highway. She didn't say much, but she looked so happy, and eventually her hand crept across the seat to take his. When he took the first street off the bridge instead of the second one, she asked, "Where are we going?"
Bob laughed. "Just because he hasn't been freaking out at you all night doesn't mean he hasn't been texting and calling me nearly nonstop."
"Who?" she asked, clearly puzzled as Bob drove through the quiet end of Coronado. When he pulled up in front of the Spanish Revival style house that had every light, interior and exterior, shining bright, she laughed too. "I almost forgot about the rings in all the excitement."
Bob watched as Bradley came running out onto his porch in his slippers, gym shorts, and his hideous tie dye shirt with a concerned look on his face. His wife was right behind him waving merrily from the porch in a bathrobe that looked too big for her as he ran down the walkway toward the truck. Bob watched as Anna twisted both rings from her finger and then rolled down the window, and in an instant, Bradley's entire head was thrust inside, eyes searching wildly.
"Do you have them?" he asked loudly, reaching for Anna's open palm and the rings. "Jesus Christ." He turned around and shouted to his wife, "They have them!"
"I told you they did," she replied easily, shaking her head. "It's not like she was set on stealing something tonight, Beer Boy."
Bob and Anna both started laughing as Bradley turned back toward them, looking much calmer with his wife's rings in his hand. "These rings are so important to me. Elvis himself married us in Vegas with them."
Anna patted him on the cheek and said, "And they're both just as perfect as when Advanced Calculus gave them to me earlier. They worked like a charm, so thank you."
He nodded and sighed in relief before heading back up to the porch with a lot more swagger in his step now. While he was walking away, Bob heard him tell his wife, "Put these back on immediately, Sugar, or I'm getting my Beta Gamma paddle out."
"Oh," Anna gasped as Bob started to pull away from the curb. "That actually makes a lot of sense," she muttered, holding onto the computer once again.
"They are in for a wild night," Bob told her, heading toward his house now. "And so is Kevin. In a much less fun way."
"And so are you," Anna said with a little smirk.
"I don't have a fraternity paddle," Bob replied as his cheeks grew warm.
"We won't need one of those for a good time. You have a collection of poetry that you wrote about me, and I think I'd like to hear you read it."
Bob was already twitching with need. "Will you put your black bra and panties on again?"
"What do you think I'm wearing under this dress? As soon as I pull my manuscript from the cloud and copy everything over to my own computer, I'm going to spend the rest of the night thoroughly thanking you for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself. And then we can discuss the plans to banish Kevin permanently."
There were so many things he wanted to do, but he knew his list would have to start after hers was complete. They would take care of her manuscript and get rid of Kevin. Then he could bring up going on some actual dates before she moved in for good and let their books get all mixed up. He was itching to get back to the bookstore again. He was dying to take her to Chippy's.
"You don't have to thank me for anything, Anna," he said softly, lacing his fingers with hers as he drove. "But when you finally feel free, just promise me you'll stay."
----------------------------
Anna! You badass!! Let's banish Kevin back to New Jersey forever! Thanks @beyondthesefourwalls

mini me || lucy bronze x reader ||
Tumblr media
you find your place playing soccer, just like your mother had.
lucy couldn't believe how nervous she was sitting in the car park. it was the end of your first youth camp with england. she had wanted to greet you on the field, but you had been adamant about not making a scene. you were a lot like your mother in a lot of ways, people frequently joking that you were actually her clone. you wanted to make a name for yourself at this camp, and if lucy was always hanging around, you wouldn't have been able to.
you had a tendency to be shy and quiet, always keeping to yourself. it was why you hadn't made many friends while in barcelona. you were brilliant, and took the language expertly, but despite your almost natural fluency, you hadn't spoken to many people. that was why lucy's heart swelled at the sight of you laughing with some of the other girls while you walked out from the training area.
"hi mum," you greeted as you got into the car. you had obviously just come from the showers, your hair dripping slightly onto your shoulders. she could see little droplets over your last name on the back of your shirt, something that always filled her with pride.
"hey lovey, how was practice?" lucy asked you. you just sort of shrugged the question off. it wasn't in the same, somewhat dodgy way you had back in spain or france, but rather in the way that lucy would have whenever she was your age. football was one of the few things that lucy felt like the two of you had in common. you were secretive with your interests, only becoming more so when lucy tried to pry. "come on, give me something lovey."
"it was good, scored a couple goals. they're gonna put me up front next game, just to see how i do," you told her. lucy hummed as she waited for you to put your seatbelt on. you were a bit nervous to tell your mom about the position change. she had been talking about you taking her spot as a defender since you were old enough to walk.
"you'll do fine, don't worry about it. you're a bronze, we're good anywhere on the field." lucy reached out and patted your knee. you let out a small sigh of relief as she started the car up again. the drive home was quiet, but at least she wasn't mad about you changing positions. all you wanted to do was make your mother proud.
"damn it!" you punched at the ground as another run was thwarted by your opponents. coming forward had been going well for you, but this game was different. the swedish girls had been playing it defensively, and you hadn't been able to fully make a break for it yet. both teams had scored, but you needed that extra point. your mum had dropped everything to come see you play, even flying out some of her former barcelona and lyon teammates to watch the game.
"hey, it's okay. don't lose your head mate." the reminder from your teammate was welcome. she held her hand out for you to take, and despite wanting to seem strong on your own, you accepted her help. riley was definitely your best friend on the team, the two of you being closer with each other than anybody else.
in the months since you joined up with the youth team, you had made quite a few friends. every other weekend you and riley were hanging out. she was signed to tottenham's youth academy, whereas you had gone to chelsea's. still, the two of you trained together and were each other's biggest supporters. lucy was glad that after years of being a loner you had finally found a good group of friends that obviously loved and cared about you.
"they're giving you a penalty. make it count," riley whispered into your ear. you swallowed down your nerves and took the spot. you took a deep breath and remembered what you had gone over at your last couple training sessions. lucy had let you train penalties with zecira and hannah, who definitely didn't go easy on you.
in that moment, you were grateful for the extra help. you reminded yourself of the little tips and tricks they had given you. somewhere in the audience, they were sitting and watching you. you were pretty sure that all of chelsea was there for you, every member of your mum's team there to support you like you were one of them. one day, you would proudly wear that blue jersey, but today, you were here to show the world the future of the lionesses. you kept your head up as you sprinted towards the ball and kicked your shot off.
"oh my god!" your teammates rushed to surround you. there was still enough time for sweden to score again if they really pressed, but defensively, your team was ready for them. sweden pushed and pushed, but in the end, you stood with your team as you lifted up a trophy.
"hey lovey," lucy greeted you with a tight hug. you were still quite a bit smaller than her, but she swore that you were still growing every single day. ona stood next to her, now a solid two inches shorter than you. "that was amazing. i'm so proud of you."
"muy bien," ona echoed your mother's sentiments. you moved to hug her tightly, not letting go of the woman who had become like a second mother to you. she was still in barcelona, only occasionally making trips up to see you and your mother. with you starting school up again, it was hard to find time to go down to spain for visits. "i have missed watching you play."
"i told you how good she's been getting. just wait until the ballon d'or nominations start rolling in," lucy said as she put her arm around your shoulders. all of their words made you feel warm and fuzzy inside. you had no shortage of love and attention from your mum, but this felt different. you had been trying to distance yourself a bit from the pressure that came with being a bronze, and incidentally distanced yourself from her completely.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the light turns red, you slow down smoothly. the glow from the traffic light illuminates mina’s face with a red glow. you turn to catch a glimpse of her.
she catches you glancing over and raises a brow, you smile playfully and turn back to watch the cars pass.
“why do you do that?” she asks you, rolling her eyes. “you’re so weird.”
“don’t say that, i’m amazing.”
mina shakes her head and turns to face the passengers window, hiding her smile from you. the music in the car continues to play, you giggle, and the light turns green again. you gradually press down on the pedal.
you and mina have been friends for 8 years and counting, luckily you both ended up at the same university—which meant no long-distance friendship and no problems.
(well— there was one problem, one that kept the two of you up at night: the mutual attraction the two of you had for each other.)
(but both of you choose to ignore that in order to keep yourselves sane.)
(it doesn’t keep any of you sane.)
mina was someone you could be completely transparent with, and despite how stupid or unhinged you’ve been, she’s stuck by your side throughout the years. and speaking of which, throughout the years she’s only gotten prettier, and she’s been undeniably beautiful. she matured physically and mentally, the physical aspect unquestionably catching your eye more. years pass and her features are sharper, yet as elegant as ever. more eye candy for you, and more excuses such as: “i was zoning out” to repeat after getting caught staring. both of you had a staring problem.
“and~ we’re home.” you beam, watching mina unbuckle the seatbelt. “give me your bag, you must be tired.”
mina hands you her small shoulder bag and smiles at you, you return the smile. she gets out your car and stretches her arms out, sighing as she does so.
the night breeze hits you in the face hectically, but it passes through mina’s hair in a way that reminds you of some commercial, with her as the conspicuous model.
the two of you walk over to the entrance of your apartment complex, then up the stairs. you follow mina up as she walks to the third floor, and you feel a little bad since her legs must hurt.
once you get to your shared apartment, mina reaches inside the pocket of her jacket for the keys, then pulls them out and starts to unlock the door. she turns the lock to the right once and pushes the door open, turning on the light as soon as she steps inside.
mina plops on the couch and you giggle, smiling at your best friend and roommate. you plop down next to her and she puts her feet on your lap, sinking into the cushions deeper.
“shift must’ve been rough, huh?” you ask, watching her nod in response. she closes her eyes and turns to the side, sighing.
“i have a test tomorrow too.”
“seriously? on what?”
“physics.” she groans, then sits up. “i figured majoring in architecture would be less grueling. i was wrong. so wrong.”
“you set yourself up for more of that.” you tease, tapping her shoulder and urging her to turn around. “let me ease the tension, then you can rest a bit and study a bit. it’s only 5:50.”
she hums and turns around; you place your hands on her shoulders and begin to work at the stiff muscles with your nimble fingers. she gasps at the sudden contact, shrugging then easing into your touch. mina lets out a variety of sighs and groans here and there, but otherwise stays pretty inaudible the rest of the time. she leans away from you after she’s had enough, rolling her shoulders back and then cracking her neck.
"thank you y/n, for everything.”
you can’t help but chuckle after hearing her words of gratitude. she sounded so serious and sincere, which caught you off guard. you stand up and intertwine your own fingers together, stretching them up and behind your back a bit.
“i just drove you back from work and massaged you, that’s what friends are for. no need to be to sentimental minari.”
she rolls her eyes and scoffs at your teasing tone, “oh so i guess i’ll just quit showing my gratitude.”
“hey i didn’t mean—”
a pillow is thrown at your stomach before mina starts giggling, showing her gums and all as she beams; just how you adore. you throw the pillow back at her and she catches it with her hands, then stands up and sets it down on the couch.
“okay now go study, can’t be wasting your tuition on a failed physics grade.”
“i don’t want to hear that from you y/n. didn’t you get a 67 on that anatomy module?”
“hey!” you raise your hands up in defense, “i passed, that’s all that matters.”
“yeah, whatever. i’m going, thanks again.” mina mumbles, grabbing her bag and walking over to her room.
she smiles as soon as she enters her room, then laughs to herself. she sighs dreamily, something out of a romcom.
--
“so the both of you aren’t actually togeth—”
“no.” mina dismisses momo immediately. momo looks at you whilst you talk with the girl you met in your kinesiology class, the girl that’s a little too touchy and flirty for mina’s liking. “she’s occupied anyway, always talking with any girl that’s in her line of sight.” mina scoffs.
“oh, so you’re jealous?” momo laughs, grinning at mina.
the younger woman shoves the older one in the shoulder, rolling her eyes. “no. she’s just taking her sweet time when we need to be somewhere.”
you’re smiling, you’re laughing, and she is doing the same. her hands are resting on your chest every now and then and she’s also giving you heart eyes. of course, you’re too oblivious to realize – just how you always are with girls like that – mina hates it.
finally, after what feels like an eternity, you finish talking to the girl, make an excuse that you have to leave, and check your phone. you look up and mina is talking to momo, and then you walk over — no, rush over and almost trip in the middle of the lobby — and apologize for being a couple of minutes late. mina grimaces and momo gives you a toothy smile.
“let’s go, we need to pick up sana too—right?” you ask, mina simply nods, no small smile or anything before she turns away.
she starts walking out the doors first and you frown at the sudden moodiness from her. you know mina well, well enough to know when she’s having her mood swings and feeling down. you learned to be attentive at a young age, and mainly — only — for her.
you look over to momo and she shrugs, then suggests, “maybe if you weren’t so late.”
“it was six minutes.”
“maybe it’s more than the time then.”
“momo—” you’re unable to finish your sentence because now she’s the one turning around and following mina’s path. your shoulders sink and you frown again. your legs carry you out the doors to follow the two women despite the sinking feeling in your heart.
mina is standing beside the passenger door waiting for you to unlock your car, and momo is on her phone leaning against the door to the backseat. you click the button on your keys, your car makes that clicking noise and lights up, then mina and momo get inside at the same time.
you get into the drivers seat and turn on your engine, then face mina to ask, “want the aux?” then she hums in response, plugging her phone in. momo observes from the back seat; the way you clench your teeth subtly, mina’s hesitance, the way your hand grips the steering wheel tighter than usual, mina’s body turning away from yours.
sana is in the car ten minutes later and immediately, the tension starts to die down.
“i’m so hungry…” sana sighs, linking her arm with momo’s.
you laugh and assure her, “i’ll drive quick, i think everyone is as hungry as you.” mina smiles and you catch it from the corner of your eye; you grin sheepishly..
it’s silent for the most part other than sana starting all the conversations and everyone responding. then, halfway through the car ride, sana beams and mentions: “hey, sebastian is throwing a house party, everyones going to be there you know.”
“…and?” you hum, eyes on the road.
“we should go!”
“sana,” mina begins, “you know i’m not a party person.”
sana pouts. “come on~ that chaeyoung girl you’ve been all flirty with is going to be there. maybe you can hit it off with her.”
the light turns red and you hit the brakes – not so smoothly – and quirk a brow at mina. you’ve been able to hit it off with some girls on campus, hooking up with them and whatnot, but the mention of mina talking to someone – which, you’re been completely unaware of – strikes a nerve in you for some reason. she’s not yours, you’re not hers, yet there’s a sick feeling in your stomach.
“you’re— you’re talking to someone?” the uneasy atmosphere makes its comeback as soon as the question slips past your lips, and mina shrinks in her seat. “you never told me that.”
“you never tell me about all the girls you talk to, i can’t talk to one?” mina says, her tone vicious.
“i- no, i just, i thought you would’ve told me about something like that.” you look at her apologetically, she doesn’t bat an eye at you. “i didn’t mean that, mina.’
sana and momo glance at each other in the backseats; momo shrugs, sana raises her brows, and then sana decides to clear the air.
“so, let’s go as a group?” she insists, and you can only hum as you pull into the parking spot near the café.
momo decides to find seats for the four of you and you thank her before grabbing mina’s wrist and dragging her to the bathroom. sana and momo watch, both as surprised as mina.
it’s a single person restroom, and you close the door behind you harshly before backing mina against the sink. you’re only an inch or two taller, nothing too significant, but somehow it feels like you’re towering her completely.
she looks into your eyes, you look into hers tenderly; mina surrenders and breaks the eye contact.
“what’s going on mina?”
“i’m sorry, it’s nothing.”
“it’s clearly something.” you murmur, curious and confused. “please, you can tell me anything.”
without thinking, you cup her face. your hands are warm, they’ve always been warm and mina’s have always been on the colder end. mina feels her heart shatter and pound against her chest at the same time, her cheeks flush but her lips twitch into a frown.
hesitant to give into your touch, she shudders away subtly. “it’s nothing, i’m just, you know—“
“mood swings?” you ask, moving your hand to her shoulder and rubbing your thumb against the material that covers it. mina leans in to your touch this time and nods, looking back at you. “i’m sorry for, sounding so… i don’t know, angry. it’s not my business, and if you’re talking to someone…” you gulp down your feelings and decide on what anyone would say. “then i hope they make you happy and whatnot, it’s not my business. i shouldn’t have pushed it.”
“no,” mina mumbles. you turn your head, confused. “i think i’ve been a bit distant recently, i haven’t been as open.”
“hey don’t say that, i guess the stress is killing both of us.”
“i’m sorry again.” mina sighs.
“it’s okay, i love you always, no matter what.”
“and how do you?” mina questions, tensing up at the feeling of your thumb rubbing against her shoulder now. you slide your hand down to her forearm subconsciously, pausing your actions.
“what? mina, you know i love you. we’ve been friends since like, forever. i’m just saying i’m always here if you need me.”
friends.
“okay, yeah thanks.” mina rushes her response out, then recomposes herself. she grabs your wrist briefly before letting go, then opens the door. “i’m hungry, hurry up.”
“yeah yeah, whatever.”
--
mina’s normal for the rest of the week and there are no complications or mood swings for the most part. the two of you are pretty busy anyway, no time for arguments when your professors are up your asses.
there’s those moments of solitude with your roommate that bring you some peace of mind here and there, which makes it harder to push down the trivial feelings you have for mina. like that one time mina helped you out with dinner, pushing you to the side with her hand on your waist. yeah, that one had your heart racing.
other than a near heart attack and some domestic and weirdly intimate alone time with mina, there hasn’t been any tension or bickering since that car ride. things seem good and you’re happy with that.
sana reminds you of the party the day of, it reminds you of what had happened in the car. you’re reminded of mina’s ‘talking stage’ and it bothers you more than you’d like to admit, but there’s nothing to worry about since mina isn’t the biggest partygoer. she’d probably be cooped up in her room playing games while you drank more than you intended to again, just like always.
tonight was an exception.
you’re leaning against the counter in your baggy jeans and the fit t-shirt where the sleeve cuts off just above your bicep – the shirt that makes your arms look good and shows your tattoos better – and sana is texting the group chat saying she’ll be there in five. you wait patiently and pass the time by mindlessly scrolling.
what you don’t expect is to see mina emerging from the hall looking effortlessly beautiful like she always does. she meets your gaze then drops it to your own body, quickly returning back to the shared eye contact. there’s something in the way she holds herself up that’s keeping your look on her for a moment longer, afraid to look away just in case you’ll miss something.
she’s fucking stunning, no doubt about that. a cropped, white top hugs her figure perfectly and shows a good amount of her defined abdomen, the light shines in a way that highlights her grooves. she has that naturally striking body, the one that girls envy or swoon over, and the ones that guys eye not so subtly in public, much to your dismay. she’s also wearing some light makeup — a rosy sunset lightly decorating the outside of her eyes and a darker shade of red painted on her lips — and even without it your jaw would be on the floor. her wavy hair falls loosely around her and her bangs are tousled – different than her usual well kept look – it all captivates you. mina’s fucking hot, no doubt about that.
your eyes do a lot of the talking, they run up and down her body, down to the curve of her hips that are covered by her low-rise boyfriend jeans. mina’s inching closer and you recompose yourself, try not to eye fuck your roommate too hard.
“you’re going to the party? thought you weren’t a party person.”
“i don’t have anything better to do.”
“not going to stay and play games? that’s new.”
she scoffs, then crosses your arms and it makes you realize that you’ve been looking at her exposed tummy again. you make eye contact with her again. mina raises her brows, then responds with a hint of test in her tone, “do you not want me to go? sounds a lot like it.”
not when you look like that. you should only look like that for me, you think, and you want to respond with that thought. but you hold yourself back and decide to laugh it off, masking your odd jealously that looms.
you clear your throat, then respond, “no, just curious. we should take my car over then, just in case you want to leave early.”
“yeah, okay.” mina says, suspicious of your sudden change in mood. “let sana know then, and don’t drink too much, or really anything since you’re driving.”
“you know i’m a heavy weight. three shots and i’m still walking straight, functioning, and able to have fun. don’t worry about me.” you wave your hand and grab your phone. “i’ll ring up sana.” you say, then motion for her to leave the house with you.
-
the walk to the house is not too long, but unfortunately you were too late to bag a spot in the astonishingly large drive way. it was already filled with seven cars, all different brands besides the two honda civics that are next to each other, one red and one black. how generic, and probably driven by men who’d try to hit on you and your friends later.
there’s a fence to the backyard and you easily lift up the metal that prevents the door from opening. you push the door open and mina slides in through the gap, then you slip through and lock it again.
the music was already noticeable before the two of you had actually made it on the property, but now it’s much louder and disturbingly raucous. but that’s just how parties are. there’s a good amount of people in the spacious back yard, maybe fifteen or more – give or take – some are talking in a group with bottles of beer in their hands, two people makeout against the tree in the right corner, and others are cackling while some shirtless guy with a buzzcut and shotguns a can of cheap alcohol. nothing too surpassingly other than the size of the house and yard, pretty normal for everything that’s unfolding.
you lean down a bit to bring your lips to mina’s ear, making sure your voice is heard over the drake that’s playing at a volume that’s surely going to bring noise complaints.
“you okay?” you ask loudly, almost a shout. mina nods, then turns over, her face only inches away from yours. you look down at her lips, and back up to peer into her dark eyes. “we should go inside.” you suggest, mina nods once more.
compared to outside, the house held a lot more people. the kitchen was filled with people getting refills of sodas alcohol, and maybe one or two people ended up with water in their cups — though only those few — the rest of the bunch that crowded the house were either tipsy or drunk out of their minds.
“i think i’m gonna grab a beer or something, text me if you need anything – actually, just call me.”
mina wants to cling onto you the whole night and if anything, she only came in hopes of making you jealous. but here you are, actually indulging in whatever the hell is going on around the two of you. she feels sick to her stomach when she sees you wave goodbye, and prays that you won’t end up like those two girls in the corner of her eye that are eating each others mouths. at least not with anyone but her. fuck.
“hey, it’s you.” mina feels a tap on her shoulder and turns around to face the girl she met in her design class. “i didn’t know you were a party person, didn’t strike me as the type.”
chaeyoung is also wearing a crop top, revealing the various tattoos that decorate her skin. mina liked the tattoos, but all she could think about was the ones you had on your own skin, the ones mina always found herself staring at. her dark hair is messy, yet it suits the younger woman, so does her whole outfit: some crop top and paint splattered jeans.
“you here with anyone?” chaeyoung asks, then takes a sip from her can of beer, mina thinks it’s the rocket pop based on the colors.
“no, you?”
“nah, i came here with a friend though. i think she’s out flirting now though.”
“yeah, i came with a friend too. she’s probably doing the same too.”
“you don’t sound too happy about that.” chaeyoung says, observing the faint disappointment that spreads across mina’s features. “wanna get a drink?”
mina hesitates, then nods. chaeyoung smiles and grabs mina’s hand, leading her to a fridge in the kitchen.
“oh, and by the way,” the younger woman starts, turning to mina. “you look good.”
“thanks.” mina responds.
it’s not that mina doesn’t enjoy chaeyoung’s company, if anything she’s actually really intrigued with her little anecdotes and cute little rambles. mina likes the way chaeyoung giggles with her over some small thing, and mina doesn’t necessarily hate how chaeyoung leans closer to her, the skin-to-skin contact isn’t anything that bothers her. mina simply can’t feel anything for chaeyoung, and it frustrates her because one: chaeyoung is pretty, quite nice on the eyes. that’s something mina can’t deny. two: she’s attentive and sweet, mina know’s this from the times she’s interacted with her before this headache of a party.
she’s just not you.
“you okay?” chaeyoung asks, rubbing her thumb on mina’s hand.
“yeah, i just, um— i need another drink.”
“you’ve had two cans already, and you seem all hazy. you sure you can take it?”
“it’s fine, i’m fine. yes, yeah.”
“okay… careful then. let me go with you.”
“no.” mina says almost immediately, then pauses. “i mean, um, i can go myself. sorry.”
chaeyoung nods, letting go of mina’s hand. “i’ll see you around mina, hope we run into each other again. i liked talking to you.”
“me too, i’m sorry.”
“it’s okay.”
mina leaves chaeyoung on the couch alone, finding her way through the crowd and towards the kitchen to grab something stronger. she does in fact find something stronger in the fridge: some bottle of (most likely) cheap vodka. mina fucking hates vodka, but she also fucking hates that you’ve been plaguing her mind all night. so, mina grabs some small, plastic shot glass and pours herself a quick remedy to her growing disturbance. she shoots her head back and winces, groaning at the stinging taste of it dying down in her throat.
to make matters worse, you only plague her mind further. and to make it even worse (yet again), she catches you in the corner of her eye.
the girl from that day she got mad at you stands awfully close, putting her hand on your chest as she laughs. you only smile and laugh with her, not really paying attention to anything else.
this is the closest you’ve been to the girl, courtney was her name. she’s in your anatomy and has a similar hairstyle to mina, though mina’s looks ten times better. her eyes shine as she looks at you, well, mostly your lips. she smiles and slides her hand around your neck.
“you know, i’ve always thought you were pretty.” she says, “how about we find a spot to be alone?”
“oh,” you say, features shifting into one of confusion. “courtney i don’t— i thought we were just having fun…?”
“don’t be stupid baby,” you wince at the petname, it doesn’t sound right coming from her. she twirls your hair around, it irks you, you definitely don’t like it. “we can have fun if we find a place with a door that has a lock.” and all you can do is laugh awkwardly.
“courtney i don’t—” you look past courtney and towards the familiar girl in the kitchen, making direct eye contact with her and freezing as soon as you realize just who you’re looking at.
mina huffs, frowning at you disappointedly. she shouldn’t be disappointed, but she is.
if only that were her, she thinks.
she bites back a tear, clenching her teeth and shaking her head – which somehow makes her more uneasy than she already is – and starts to walk away. she doesn’t know where she’s going, just as long as it’s less overwhelming and there’s no sight of you with someone that isn’t her.
“shit,” you mumble, and then courtney desperately tries to postpone your departure with small talk, but it’s no use. you speed through the crowd and bump into various bodies as you try to keep mina in your vision, pushing anyone in your way just to find her.
you watch her turn into the hallway and manage to make it to that turn only two seconds later, but by the time you get there she’s already stepping into some room and closing the door. a curse slips from your breath as you run towards the same door a second after it had closed, hitting your fist against it in defeat.
“mina!” you shout – no response. “fuck, mina, please.”
you lean your forehead against it, flattening your hands against the door before you bang on it again.
“please? please mina, i know something is up.”
“go entertain yourself with whoever you were with earlier.” and what the fuck did that mean? you didn’t know. could mina mean courtney? you didn’t want her like that, mina can’t possibly be bothered by her – and, if she were, that wouldn’t make sense. courtney is just a friend, if anything, you wanted mina in her place.
“what does that mean? mina you’re being so—” she cuts you off, opening the door. she’s got that flush, the same one that she did when she lost to sana in that one drinking game a few months back. mina’s not sober, meaning she’s ten times more vulnerable and even moodier, but why? hell, you never know.
“weren’t you enjoying that? that girl, she’s all up on you so why do you run after me.”
“courtney? mina you’re being irrational, she’s just a classmate, a friend i guess. i don’t want her like that.”
“we’re friends and you never look at me like that,” she says, voice being muffled by the music playing in the house. “why don’t you smile at me like that?”
you step inside and close the door, now it’s just you and mina, alone.
“mina what are you saying? i smile at you all the time. are you pissed over a smile?”
“you’re so dense.”
“well i don’t know what the fuck is wrong if you’re not going to fucking tell me mina.” maybe that was harsh, considering the fact that she’s most definitely drunk, but you’re also irritated because she’s been tip toeing around the things that have been pissing her off. “you always tell me what’s bothering you and about your mood swings, but what’s been going on recently? you’ve been so, i don’t know—difficult to read.”
“and you’ve been so dense.” mina scoffs, looking you in the eye. “you flirt and charm all these other girls – any girl – why not me? what’s wrong with me?”
“mina there’s nothing wrong with you. and… you want me to charm you? what does that even—”
“why do you run after me when you don’t even want me like that, why don’t you love me like i love you.”
you halt, watching mina’s bottom lip twitch and brows crease as she looks at you.
“mina,” you begin, shoulders relaxing a bit. “of course i love you.”
“then why do you-“
with no warning, you lean in, capturing her lips with yours and cupping both cheeks with your hands. this is one of the dumbest decisions of the night, undeniably so. reality hits you and you’re pulling away, but mina pulls you back in.
you should stop this, you have to stop this, it can’t be right.
you don’t stop, partially because mina is wrapping her arms around you, keeping you close.
(and mainly because this is what you’ve been needing – dreaming – of for years. you’ll let your morals come back to you later, because right now this contact feels better than anything.)
her hands almost sting from how cold they are when they graze your neck, sliding up to grip your hair. you reciprocate and place your hands on her waist, the music fades out in the background, her back is pressed against the door, and you’re keeping her place as you savor what you’ve daydreamed about countless times.
using the part of your brain that isn’t overtaken by lust, you try to make sure everything is alright after remembering she’s had a drink or two – at least before you indulge again – and that she’s not sober—which is very rare for someone like mina. you pull away first and fight the urge to ruin her right here and right now.
“wait mina—” mina doesn’t give you time to speak, immediately leaping back onto you and locking lips again, whining as she tugs at your hair. she bites your lip slightly, which makes you push her against the door harder, fingers leaving marks in her skin.
there’s too much going on, too much you want to do all at once – mina wants the same.
you pull away successfully, mina doesn’t pull you back in hurriedly this time. her eyes are partially closed, lips puffy, her breath is heavy – chest heaving up and down since she hadn’t gotten the chance to properly catch her breath – and her cheeks are a rosy shade of red.
“y/n…” mina murmurs. her tone is whiny and desperate, and all it urges you to do is close the distance again.
first, you’re exchanging saliva as you slide your tongue in, sloppily making out as you shift mina over to the counter of the bathroom sink. her moans are muffled as you kiss her and it leaves you ravenous, wanting to hear it clearly. the two of you indulge in each other, just as you’ve been craving for years.
you fall to her jaw, then the soft skin of her neck, spending your time marking it up and tending to it how you’ve been wanting to. no, needing to.
mina grips your shoulder tight and her head tilts back as her lips part. it’s odd, this is what you’ve been craving, but there’s a uneasy feeling in your stomach and it’s not from anything you’ve consumed.
“shit,” you murmur, partially because mina’s tugging at your hair again, but mainly because the realization hits you: mina’s under the influence. “what am i doing.”
the spell she’s casted on you by giving you the taste of her lips finally wore off, it takes a good amount of self-restraint to pull away one last time – and this time it’s for real, you don’t dive back into her pool of temptation – though you linger a moment, lips dangerously close to the skin just above the crook of her neck.
again, you look at her: hair messy, eyes now opening, and a pout plastered on her face.
“y/n… please, keep going.” you can’t, you know better than to keep going, despite how bad you want it.
“we should get going, minari.”
“but i need you, please.” fuck. fucking shit. you want her too, more than words can tell.
“mina…” you start, bringing a hand to cup her cheek. she leans into the touch, not hesitating for a second. mina’s beautiful, you know that. she’s against the counter of the bathroom and the only thing you can really notice right is how beautiful she is despite the music from outside getting louder. it’s strange – time slows down for a moment.
your fingers push the strands of hair that messily frame her face behind her ear and she frowns harder. against a canvas of flushed cheeks and pale skin, her eyes radiate an ethereal luminescence under the glow of the bathroom light. exuding an ineffable brilliance. her eyes, wow, her eyes are pretty in the moment. they’re staring at you and captivating your senses, holding you captive as you try to fight everything telling you to go on with your desires.
“you drank lots, didn’t you?” you ask, laughing a little to shake off your nerves. two beers is the equivalent of “lots” for mina. enough to make her all hazy and cuddly. “let’s go.” you insist, “home isn’t far and i can drive. i only had a can of beer, and i have work in the afternoon.”
“why can’t you just— fuck, y/n, i just—“
“we can talk when you’re sober.”
mina mumbles something under her breath, the sound of her voice thin and vulnerable. you hold her hand and squeeze it gently before letting out a breath.
“stay close, you were stumbling earlier.” you insist, “keep my hand in yours, ‘kay?”
you don’t let mina respond and instead, you’re out the door with her hand in yours trying to find your way out of the overwhelming atmosphere. trying to get yourselves home so you can compose yourself in an environment that isn’t making your skull pulse.
momo is dancing with sana, heat radiating off the both of them as their mutual allure drags them closer and the alcohol kicks in. momo’s eyes are only on sana, that is until she catches two familiar figures struggling to pass by the crowd blocking the door.
your hand slides down and snakes around mina’s waist, keeping her ever closer as you swim through the crowd and towards the door. sana looks at momo, who’s looking in a different direction, then turns to see what’s up with whatever is going on. “whatever is going on” is something that has sana smiling cheekily, giggling and then turning back to momo.
“you see it too?” voice low yet audible as sana speaks into momo’s ear, lips brushing against the lobe. “i wonder if they had any fun. most likely, knowing how y/n is.”
“mm, maybe,” momo mumbles, distracted by the woman placing a hand on her chest. momo gulps, then faces sana fully and smirks. “maybe… they’ve never been that close, touchy yeah but…” momo shakes her head. her hand slides to the curve of her waist and pinches just barely, just enough for sana to gasp. “let’s find out tomorrow and find out way to the bathroom instead, hm?”
sana smiles, nodding eagerly before they find their way out the crowd and into the same bathroom you and mina had been in.
it takes a few at least ten curses under your breath before you reach the door, opening it and slipping past like you had done before with the entrance to the backyard – though this time, none of you are afraid of being close.
mina is following you, your hand still on her waist – holding onto her even though it’s not necessary – and leading her to the car.
another small curse slips your lips while looking for your keys, scared that you’ve lost them throughout your late night rendezvous. luckily, they’re shoved in one of your pockets, you sigh out a breath of relief as you press the small unlocked logo.
you help mina get into the passengers seat, then close the door for her and get into the drivers seat yourself. once you close your own door, you reach over mina and grab her seatbelt, invading her personal bubble with your own body. mina watches you with tired eyes, watches you grab the end and fasten her seatbelt with a click of the locks. before you lean back into your space, mina stops you, putting a hand on your shoulder.
she presses her lips to your temple – sloppily and sweetly – then leans back into her seat, closing her eyes.
you huff, then your lips curve--? turn? they display something that’s something in between a frown and smile, something that shows both at the same time, even if it sounds impossible.
the engine starts, you turn to look at mina once more, then drive.
-
hangovers are not for the weak, and they’re surely not for mina.
mina wakes up and it feels like she’s gotten run over countless times in the head. she groans and sinks into her matress more, hugging the pillow in her arms and then groaning once more – if the first, annoyed one wasn’t enough already.
she tries to recall everything from last night, only remembers a brief image of chaeyoung and a beer in her hand; and then everything else. everything.
it’s like being hit by a life-threatening gust of wind that’s trying to knock you over and over, it hits all at once and keeps bombarding you more and more and more. each gust is worse than the one before. it feels like being stuck in the middle of the sea while waves keep crashing and crashing and crashing against you. that’s how mina feels when the memories come piling back.
she remembers the push and pull – desperate fingers clawing at cloth or skin, lips parting so the two of you oculd catch your breaths – she remembers the sensation of it all – her shoulder blades meeting the material of the door – the chill of the material making her shiver – your tongue against her own, the teeth nipping at her skin, and shit she even remembered the smell of your perfume: amber and vanilla. she could seriously lose herself in that fragrance if it meant being that close to you again.
mina jumps when she hears three knocks, groggily rubbing her eyes before seeing someone her bedroom door. her eyes are squinty, but the figure is unmistakable. mina feels her cheeks burn again, and now she’s figuring out that they always grow warm whenever you’re around.
“hey… morning.” you greet softly, smiling. “i um, i have work soon. i just wanted to let you know there’s advil and vitamins on your bedside before i left. figured you’d need it.”
“t-thank you.” mina stutters embarrassingly. “y/n i’m sorr—”
“let’s talk about it later. just take your time, you have work later, right?”
“shit,” she mutters, closing her eyes tight and pinching the bridge of her nose. “yeah.”
“i’ll be home later, you should ask momo to take you.”
“i’ll do that, yeah.” mina answers. she watches you nod awkwardly, and then without a word; you leave.
--
mina calls momo later, later as in 12 o’clock pm because there’s no way momo would ever be up before then on a saturday – especially not after a party with sana around. still, momo answers tiredly, voice all stuffy and low.
“mina it’s so fucking early can we please—”
“come, now.” mina orders, “i’m tired too but i really need to talk to you and i’m saying this as in it’s urgent. you know it is if i’m begging like this. momo please come, now.”
she hears momo groan on the other end of the line, a few seconds of silence pass before momo answers: “give me ten.”
“thanks.”
momo gets to the apartment in thirty minutes and mina answers the door, making the older woman look at her shockingly. mina’s hair is disheveled with some strands loosely having a mind of their own. her eyes peer at momo tiredly, and she’s wearing an oversized tee with pajama pants to finish the “i just got out of bed and no hangover remedy could fix the headache i have” look.
“um, morning sunshine?” momo tries. mina turns and walks over to the couch, landing on it exhaustedly. momo follows over and sits down in the space next to her, watching her stare up at the ceiling.
“i think—no, yeah we definitely…” the younger woman starts, shutting her eyes. “there’s a hickey on my neck and i know it’s from last night. i remember, vaguely – but also so much at the same time.”
momo deadpans. “mina what the fuck are you saying.”
mina practically breaks her neck trying to lift it up just to glare at momo. “y/n gave me the hickey.”
“holy shit mina, that’s great! so you guys fuc-“
“no. i think we just… madeout.” mina sounds dissapointed when she says it, and she definitely is. “y/n’s being distant and i’m just—scared i ruined everything.”
the younger woman groans again, then leans back against the cushion. momo watches and moves over to sit criss-cross on the couch now, pulling mina by the wrists to sit her up. “stop moping, you kissed her. you’ve been complaining to me like, ages about her.”
“what if she regrets it?”
“i doubt it. maybe y/n is just worried that you regret it, i mean, you seemed pretty fucked last night.”
“i wish i were.” it slips out of mina’s mouth, momo tilts her head in surprise, this isn’t something mina would say, ever – at least out loud. “don’t start.” mina warns, glaring at her friend.
“i wasn’t going to.” momo assures, putting her hands up in defense. “maybe you should talk to her, she’s picking you up after work today, right?”
fuck.
“yeah.”
“perfect. good time to bond then.” momo chirps – mina deadpans, then collapses into the cushions again.
“i can count on both hands how many years we’ve known each other, i just can’t lose her.”
“you won’t. don’t worry, everything will be fine.”
-
mina’s worrying, and everything is not fine.
mina cannot take her mind off of you, the night before, and just you in general. it’s you you you you you running through her mind as she collects tips from the old couple in the corner of the restaurant. even as they compliment mina’s features she can’t help but think of you. it’s only you, you’re plaguing her mind even worse than how you did while she was all hot and heavy.
you tap at the wheel anxiously with your pointer and middle finger – a habit you’ve developed as soon as you had gotten your license at seventeen – as you wait for mina. the restaurant closes at 10, but mina’s leaving at seven because she can’t do closing shifts, you remember her rambles and complaints. you remember everything about her.
work had been as rough for you as it had been for mina, just the thought of her pulling you closer, bruising your lips, and just her drove you crazy. it took everything in you to function normally as people would come up to you asking where a certain book was in the library you worked at or if you could renew their copy of who fucking knows what novel.
your head shoots up when you see a familiar figure step out from the entrance to the restaurant. she pats down her clothes and adjusts the bag that hangs from her shoulders. mina looks at you through the window and you simply smile at her, fixing your posture. she smiles back and walks towards the car, then gets into the passengers seat.
you greet her like you always do: “hey.”
“hi.”
“how was work?”
“busy, but good tips.” she says, putting on her seatbelt and desperately trying to compose herself. “how was your work?”
“good, good. just the usual.”
“could be worse.”
“yeah.” she responds. there’s a short silence that sits in the air and that urges you to start driving. mina looks forward, but still, she can see you shifting the stick with your hands – the hands that were leaving mina breathless.
the car ride is silent, deathly silent.
sure, carrides back to the apartment after mina’s shifts have always been pretty nonverbal, but at least a few jokes and anecdotes were shared. the only thing shared is the silence, it makes you grip the wheel tight and has mina facing out her window.
“did you um, eat yet?”
“yeah, did you?”
“yeah… jonathan gave me half his sandwich before i clocked out.”
“good.”
“yeah.”
you reach the apartment complex after the most apprehensive car ride you’ve ever been in – which says a lot, considering the fact that you’ve been in a car driven by sana. not the best experience ever, she’s definitely a passenger princess, and should stay one.
the engine stops, you two get out the car at the same time – no words exchanged, but you’re both thinking the same thing – and then you hold out your hand so mina can give you her bag, just like always. the two of you head into the complex with you following behind mina, then up the stairs to your shared place.
the tension is cleared for a moment, mina watches you fish for the keys in your hoodie pocket, only for you to drop them on the floor and curse under your breath. mina laughs, you laugh with her and this is the first time you two have shared eye contact since last night, probably.
“you’re so clumsy, always.” mina snickers, looking at you with a gummy smile. you roll your eyes and put the key into the lock, twisting it right and responding,
“shut up.” you say in a tone of fake annoyance.
the door opens and you step inside, mina follows behind. your shoulders sink, untensing as soon as you close it again.
“i’m sorry, i made a move while you were drunk and if i hadn’t controlled myse—”
“shut up.” mina orders, using one hand to pull you close by the wrist and the other hand immediately slides to the back of your neck as she closes the distance again.
mina kisses you first this time, and now both your senses are fully there, no alcohol to fuck any of you over this time. you almost stumble backwards from how ttaken aback you are, but shortly after the contact you’re kissing her with the same force.
you drop the bag in your hand – it’ll be tomorrows problem, it’s not that big of a deal anyway – and cup her cheeks, slowly inching forward towards any surface that’ll keep you two from fucking on the floor right then and there. where’s the fun when there’s no action building up to everything?
mina’s feels the marble of the counter in the kitchen above her waist as you push her against it. her hands find the edge and grip onto it tightly as your hands start to roam down the curve of her hips. mina’s tugging at your hair and it earns a small whine from you, and then she’s swiping her tongue against your bottom lip since it’s the only way to ask you to sloppily make out with her without pulling away for too long.
it’s actually not that sloppy, it’s like your tongues know each other already, they accustom to each other almost immediately. minutes – it feels like hours – pass and you pull away to glance at her for a moment; cheeks? flushed. pupils? taking over mina’s eyes completely from how dilated they are. your lips? oh, they’re craving more of the woman trapped between your arms right now.
your lips fall to her jaw, pressing feathery kisses that leave her breath shaky. when mina thinks it can’t get any better, you take your time tending to her neck – which, is too empty for your liking – sucking, nipping, doing anything that’ll make her have to wear a scarf, your hoodie, or extra foundation the next morning.
as you mark up her skin, she blindly reaches to take off the jacket you’re wearing, and you reach for the end of her black shirt that she has on, then slide it off her figure.
you eye her up and down, lingering on her chest. “fuck, fuck i want to leave you a mess.”
“do it then.”
“gladly.” you say. mina feels a pulse in between her legs.
the two of you make it to mina’s room and leave pieces of clothing out on the way. mina grows louder with each kiss, and you grow touchier.
she pushes you through the door – you make sure to quickly turn on the lights so you can get a good view of her the whole night – and then her hand is on your chest, pushing you down on the bed. you prop yourself up with both hands, watching her take off her black pants and then making her way to your lap.
you can’t help but smirk at her, smirk at the exposed skin, the new territory, the groove down her abdomen, everything. she’s grinding on your lap and it feels like a dream, but it isn’t, not when you’re hyperaware of your hand sliding up the smooth skin of mina’s ribs, hyperaware of all the contact, the heavy breaths, the shaky ones, mina’s arms around your neck.
“my bra, take it off.” she orders. of course you’ll comply, it’s mina telling you this after all.
you slide your hands over her skin and feel her shiver against you, then you unhook her bra, sliding it off and throwing it somewhere around the room.
“fuck,” is all you can say. mina’s topless, she’s on your lap, straddling you, and you give up on trying to savor anything because all it’ll do is make you short circuit. it’s all so much to handle, far too much for you, so mina helps you out while she watches you amusingly.
“just gonna check me out? how about you use that mouth of yours again baby.”
“yeah.”
mina moans as soon as you indulge in her tits. she trembles as your hold on her tightens, as you swirl your tongue around her nipple, and as your other hand stimulates her other breast. she grinds against you, trying to ease the tension down in her soaked pussy, but it’s no use. she thinks she might cum just from you tending to her chest, and honestly she could—she might.
but you won’t let her reach her high that easily, not so quick. you need to savor everything—well as much as your overwhelmed brain can — because this is mina.
“so,” you kiss her breast once more, then pull away with a slight ‘pop’ sound. “fucking pretty.”
she throws her head back as you trail back up to hee neck, sinking your teeth until you get the faint hint of blood on your taste buds.
“i’ve been wanting to do this for years.”
mina’s breathless. “hnghh— yeah, fuck y/n, me too—“
you stand up slowly snd hold onto mina, who’s still straddling you. her legs wrap around your waist and she lets out a sharp breath as you turn over and set her down on her back. you stand in between her legs, then brush a finger over her nipple while running a hand down her stomach. her skin twitches as you trail down to her underwear, sliding two fingers under the rim of it and pulling it off.
“you’re so pretty mina, always have been.” you mumble, brushing your fingers over the sensitive area. “bet you sound even prettier when im going down on you.”
“y/n,” mina gasps, watching you lower yourself so that you face her cunt — it’s aching, it’s craving. “please.”
you kiss the inside of her thighs lovingly. “if you say so.”
mina’s hand grips at the sheets tightly as soon as your lips meet where she needs, a loud moan reverberates around the room. you work at her pussy with your mouth at first, eating her out at more relaxed pace since this is your first time with her. when mina ruts her hips and pushes your tongue further into her, you quicken the pace and add a finger in.
“oh fuck y/n, ngh— keep going, don’t stop.”
she twitches and jerks around the more you fuck her, a plethora of whiny moans of your name leaving her mouth. another finger is added in, plunging in and curling at the spot that makes mina’s hand immediately move to your head, gripping your hair tightly as she loses her voice.
“c’mon, gonna cum soon?”
“y-yeah, fuck i’m so, fuck, so close.”
you reach up for mina’s hand, accidentally meeting her wrist but then finding her fingers and intertwining them with your own. mina’s thighs close around your head slightly, making you groan into her lazily. then, mina moans loudly, so loud and it sounds like a near cry. her thighs tremble around you, and she holds your hand tightly as her chest heaves up and down.
you slow down your pace, taking your fingers out and savoring mina’s essence with your tongue. she’s sweet and warm, you’re drunk on her arousal. the repeated murmurs of your name ring throughout the room like a song you could listen to and never get tired of. her grip loosens and you pull away, climbing up the beauty of mina’s body and leaving kisses as you make your way up to her jawline.
she lazily puts her hand on your neck, then gradually pushes her fingers into your scalp as you kiss her lips. she tastes herself off you, then hums once she’s satisfied.
when you pull away she’s looking at you with hooded eyes, putting her hand on your cheek and rubbing her thumb against your warm skin.
“everything okay?” you ask, and mina just kisses you.
“i’m tired.” she mumbles against your lips after a peck, “stay and sleep here.”
“i didn’t plan on leaving.” you say, laughing lightly. “let’s clean up a little, okay?”
mina nods and kisses you again, letting herself sink into the cushion as you run your hands down the side of her body.
-
the morning after is so normal it’s as if you two have been fucking ever since you moved in together.
there’s some morning pillow talk that consists of you groaning into mina’s bare skin and her teasing you for being so tired. her hands massage your scalp and your lips kiss the skin that covers her ribs. her cheeks flush.
“do you have work?” she asks, voice low and tired.
“no, do you?”
“no.” she mutters, “let’s sleep in.”
“okay.” you say. you weakly lift yourself up so you can lay your head on her shoulder. “how long have you been wanting to do that?”
she turns around so you’re spooning her, then lazily moves your hand over with her own so that your arm is over her body. you pull her closer and she answers, “sophomore year.”
“highschool?”
“yeah.”
you laugh. “why didn’t you say anything earlier?”
“you were too busy getting attention from other girls.” mina says annoyingly, though she scoots back so she’s closer to you. “didn’t want to waste my time waiting in line.”
“you should’ve skipped the line.” you feel for her hand and hold it, linking your fingers together. “i’ve liked you since middle school and you never noticed.”
if mina weren’t half asleep she would’ve had a bigger reaction, she’d be punching your shoulder and scolding you for being such a coward for not telling her. but what use is it when she’s already living the scene she’s been dreaming about for years. your breath is warm on her skin and she’s too content to yell at you.
mina yawns. “well it’s all figured out now, sleep.”
you kiss her shoulder and smile. “okay.”

Present Day
David waves one final time before slipping into his car, the parking deck of the quantico office quiet and still in the late hours. It’s nearing 12am, you’re mentally taxed, your brain begging to shut down but you can’t stop fidgeting in the passenger seat beside Aaron.
Aaron’s face is hard set, his eyes gauging your every move. “What do you want to do?” His voice is soft, filling the quiet cab, “I can take you to your neighbor’s if that would make you feel better…” There’s another option he would like to give you, his own nerves firing in overtime, afraid to let you leave his sight.
You’re staring out the window at the concrete walls, you feel hallow, like something inside your body has shattered and you’ve lost all of the important pieces. “I…” you like your lips, trying to find your voice. “Anna said she was okay with Bruce, right?”
“Yes.” Aaron draws out the word, searching for your face in the darkened glass, barely able to make out your reflection. You look torn down, the strong woman he has known chipped away to reveal a scared little girl, running from whatever darkness haunts her past. “We can go wherever you need to.”
“I’d… I just…” you take a deep breath, squeezing your eyes shut. There have only been a few hours between what happened and now, and each one has been filled with flourished activity. You haven’t had time to stop and process what has happened, your brain now catching up to your body. Your head throbs slightly, the few cuts in your palms sting when you close your fists, your eyes hurt from crying so much. But the worst of it all is the war raging in your mind, the struggle of keeping it all in or letting it all out a constant battle that you seem to be losing more and more control over.
“Why don’t we take a ride?” The suggestion breaks through your thoughts, making you turn towards Aaron. His face is so soft, an expression you’ve never seen before, and you aren’t sure if you want to hate it or long for it.
“Okay…”
And so he does just that. He drives into the city, the street lights zipping by, barely illuminating dark houses and empty streets. Aaron drives with no real destination in mind, taking random turns, navigating the roads as you sit in silence. Eventually one of his hands come to rest beside your thigh, the flash of light on his watch catching your attention.
It’s a reminder.
An offer.
Salvation.
An hour passes in stark silence before you take your first deep breath, the noise loud in the small space. “Thank you… for saving me.” You force your voice to steady out, grappling for the mask you so carefully constructed all those years ago to shield the rubble of your true form.
“Do not thank me.” Aaron responds, rolling to a stop at a traffic light. You’re unfamiliar with this part of town, but it looks like a nice area with large lawns and small houses. “I just want you to talk to me.”
Your lips press together, glancing down at his large hand. Slowly you let your own hand slip off of your lap, tentatively touching his pinky with yours.
“I… it’s hard… and messy.” You whisper, watching how his fingers twitch but he makes no move to take your hand.
“I understand… but please, let me help you.” The light above suddenly cascades the car in neon green, and Aaron’s drives on, his face stoney and a twinge of desperation in his voice.
You turn your gaze back to the window with a deep breath, the cracks in your soul widening as you speak.
“I… I had a fairly normal childhood when I was younger. Very typical suburban family, my mother stayed home with me while my father worked at a mechanic shop. Happy, picturesque family…” You swallow thickly, choking on the pressure building in your chest. “I was 8 when my mom died… she was hit by a drunk driver and my dad just… he couldn’t handle it. He loved her so much that when she died he snapped. He started drinking and I… he would drink so much that I would find him passed out for hours on end and I was still just a child…”
A dark bitter laugh leaves your lips, shaking your head as you lean back into the seat. “Then one day he seemed to wake up. Instead of being mad at the world and God, things that felt no retribution from his anger, he decided that he needed something that would. Me. The night she died she was on the way home from seeing her mother. It was so late but I missed her, she had been gone for two days. I begged her to come home.”
You can still see that night vividly when you closed your eyes, the old house filled with police officers, the broken sound of your father’s begging screams. The female officer who had taken you to your room to explain that your mother would not be coming home as she sat with you on the floor surrounded by coloring books and stuffed animals.
“He told me my emotions caused everything. That if I had just sucked it up and been strong she would still be with us. He made me believe it, and… I still do to this day. From that moment on he had decided to train me to be better.”
Your fingers inch farther across Aaron’s knuckles, and finally he flips his palm, lacing your fingers through his. The feeling of him squeezing your hand settles your rolling stomach.
“Our house was a fixer upper, the guest bathroom had never been completed so my dad… painted over the small window, put foam over the gaps to the door and threw me in. I…” Your grip tightens, your throat restricting. You look over at Aaron’s normally stoic face and see barely restrained rage. “Hours and hours I’d spend in that room…. As I grew older it grew worse. He’d keep me from school… have me do everything my mother used to do. Clean, make all the meals, laundry. By the time high school rolled around I had missed so much school CPS has been called. The case was dropped in an instance because my dad charmed the woman over, said I was a run away most of the time since my mother died.”
Aarons grip on the wheel is white knuckled, his lips pressed into a hard line as he focuses on the road ahead. “I was beat with a belt that night. It gave me the courage to leave though. From that moment on I worked my ass off to get here… I just… I didn’t want there to be another kid like me… I know what my father did was wrong but it’s so ingrained in my head that every emotion I let slip through could be my undoing, could be the reason the next bad thing happens to me or those I care for… I can’t… I can’t let that happen again.”
You glance over to Aaron, who’s silence is becoming unnerving as his thumb strokes over your own. Finally he pulls your hand to his lips, kissing your knuckles for a long moment before he speaks.
“I’m sorry. I know those words do little for what you have been through… I also know you don’t want to be pitied, and I’m not going to do that. You are extremely strong, Y/n. You have over come something that most people would let consume their lives, steer them to destitution.” He licks his lips and glances your way briefly, noting the solemn look on your face. “You know my opinion on your emotions, and I think you’re wrong about believing they can only bring you harm or failure. You’ve done so much involving them already you just haven’t realized it yet.
You have accomplished things that others only dream of, you alone and no one else. Your father played no role in this, he didn’t train you to become the woman you are, that was there all along. And I know deep in my heart that your mother is watching you with pride.” Your heart, the damaged organ that it is, swells from the praise and the thought of your mother. Your eyes burn and you’re surprised you have anything left to let out. But then again it’s years of buildup all coming to a head.
“Is he the reason for these?” Aaron gestures to your thigh, and you nod slightly.
“He threw me into the bathroom once and some of the tiles were broken… I can’t really feel the area anymore but I have what I guess you would call a phantom pain every now and again.”
Aaron brings your hand back for another gentle kiss, the delicate action such a contrast to the gleam of fury in his dark eyes. “My brave girl.” And for whatever reason, those three words break you. Maybe it’s because Aaron is seeing you, and not a facade, maybe it’s the perception of the fact that you are brave, or maybe it’s the simple claim that indicates so much more than ownership.
Comfort.
Safety.
Someone to rely on when you need it the most.
You clamp your other hand over your mouth as you sob, leaning into his shoulder as you feel everything fall into you all at once. Letting another person hold the weight of your world for just a little bit.
Aaron turns into a parking lot, into the first spot he can find before killing the engine and wrapping you in a tight hug. The consul is digging into your ribs, his hold is a little suffocating, but you bury your face into his chest anyways.
*~*~*~*~*~*
“Are you sure?”
Once you had finally calmed down Aaron offered you his guest room for the night. You were an hour away from home but only 20 minutes from his. After a long moment of hesitation you agreed, much to his visual relief. But now standing in front of his door you feel your reservations creeping back in.
“I wouldn’t have offered otherwise.” He pushes the door open and steps into a dark room. Your breath unintentionally hitches, your eyes scanning the deep darkness until light floods the area. “I have a security system installed. We will get you the same one for your home.”
The beeping of the alarm would have went completely unnoticed had Aaron not said anything as he fiddles with the control panel on the other wall. He turns once it goes silent, watching you as you linger in the doorway, doubt and fear waging in your eyes as you scan over his simply furnished apartment.
“It’s okay. I promise.”
He’s warm reassurance makes you feet ease into the room, the door shutting firmly behind you. You’re entire body is rigid, arms slung around your center like you’re holding yourself together with your own white knuckled grip. Aaron bites his lip slight before stepping closer, gesturing to the rooms behind him.
“What would you like to do? Are you hungry?”
You tug slightly at your necklace, opening your mouth only to find the words are stuck deep in your throat.
“Y/n?” He steps closer and your eyes snap to his.
“I… I don’t know what I want to do… my head is pounding and I just… I can’t figure it out, I can’t decide.” Your stare is helpless, eyes flickering back and forth between his brown ones. It’s your way of asking for his help without letting the words out because if you do you’re scared of what you will become after that.
Something in his face shifts, it’s ever so slight but you can see it in the way he shrugs out of his coat, tossing it on the back of the couch. You can see it in the way his shoulders roll back and the lines around his eyes soften. “I know baby.” He closes the distance between you, cupping your face between burning hands and you physically feel the tension draining from your jaw. “Let’s get you cleaned up okay? We will go from there.”
Aaron leads you through the apartment, flicking on the lights as he goes, he walks you into his bedroom, a space as simply furnished as the rest of his home; and towards his joint bathroom. “Why don’t you wash your hands and I’ll find you something to wear to bed?”
Even though he is phrasing everything as a question you know he’s giving you the guidance you need, not making you over think or pick what needs to be done first. You nod your head and he gives you a soft smile before ducking out of the restroom.
You glance at your hands, the nurses had cleaned your hands enough to remove the shards of glass but there is still blood caked between your fingers and under your nails. Turning on the water you test the temperature before easing your hands under the flow. A soft hiss leaves your lips at the sting but you find yourself leaning into it.
You don’t notice Aaron standing in the doorway, watching as your hands tremble under the steaming water. “Here.” You jump faintly at the sudden rasp of his voice, finding him in the mirror.
He steps by you, his hand skimming your waist and your attention zeros in on the touch. Aaron grabs a rag from the shelf over the toilet, gently pushing you from in front of the sink. He wets the rag and turns to you, reaching for your hands without another word and begins to wipe away the blood and grime.
His hands hold yours softly, and you never knew he could be so gentle. Your eyes can’t leave his face, the concentration making lines appear between his brow, his eyes squinting slightly.
Aaron glances up at the feeling of you watching him and your cheeks flush, having been caught but still unable to look away. Once finished with your hands he rinses the rag, cupping your face once more as he runs the rough material over your cheek, cleaning away the stains of makeup.
Your eyes flutter, something in your body thrumming to life with each swipe of the cloth. “Aaron…” You don’t even mean to say his name, the syllables just fall so easily from your lips and he stills, eyes boring into yours.
“Sweet girl.” He breathes back, and your insides twist sharply. The tension is undeniable, the feeling of him so close forcing your body to react. You inch closer, your eyes dropping to his lips, watching as a smile curves the corner of his mouth.
The rag falls to the counter, his hands pulling you in the rest of the way. You’re nearly on your tiptoe, your hands finding his arms to steady yourself. He brushes a soft kiss against your lips and you whimper, the sound high in your throat and he breaks, deepening the kiss with hunger.
Electricity shoots through your body, pinging off of every nerve, setting them all ablaze. His hands move to your waist, bunching up your shirt until his palms meet your warm skin, and you shudder at the feeling. Aaron moans, the sound deep in his chest and you whimper as it travels through your bones straight to your core.
Pressing you backwards, Aaron walks you out of the restroom, hands wandering the plains of your back. You stumble against him, letting him lead you to the bed where the backs of your knees brush the king sized mattress. Your heart pounds in your chest, but when Aaron breaks the kiss to look down at you, he finds no hesitation in the dewy set of your eyes.
“Can I?” His voice is husky as he tugs at your sweater and you offer a small nod. He kisses you again, knocking the air from your lungs as he helps you pull your arms free, backing away to slip the cotton over your head and throw it to the floor. You’re in nothing fashionable, a simple black t-shirt bra but the hunger in his gaze is undeniable. “You’re so beautiful.”
Your hands find his chest, going for the buttons of his white shirt only for Aaron to grab your wrists, pulling your hands to his lips to kiss your palms. “Aaron I…”
“Do you know how hard it was to work today? Knowing you’re just a few feet away from me?” You shake your head, swaying slightly on your feet. “All I was able to think about was you. How your lips taste, how you moan my name, the way you looked underneath me in the morning.”
All of those things felt like a lifetime ago, and as his teeth nipped your skin just over the pulse in your wrist, you realize you would do anything to relive it. “I need you.” Your voice is a desperate, soft plea; your eyes alight with need making his lips curl.
“Then let me take care of you.” He whispers, his grip tightening slightly. You lick your lips, his gaze darting down for a breath before snagging your eyes again, there’s so much lust and need swirling in the depths of his brown irises that you find yourself lost in them. “Let me show you how you deserve to be treated, princess.”
“Please.” It’s a soft breath of a word, but it’s all that’s needed.
Aaron kisses you so forcefully that you’re sure your lips will be bruised, but you don’t have time to care as he suddenly pushes you. The bed springs squeak under the sudden impact of your body, the air leaving your lungs in one big whoosh. Aaron’s fingers expertly pop the button of your jeans, and your blood buzzes with excitement as you lift your hips, helping him pull them down and off your legs, taking your shoes and socks with them.
There’s something about the way he is suddenly above you, still fully dress in his work clothes where as you’re laid out scarcely clad in your underwear set, with nothing to hide behind. It’s a display of dominance that sends a rush of wet heat to your center.
Aaron smiles down at you, his hands making their way up your thighs, spreading your legs for you to display the soaked gusset of your grey panties. The moan that rips from his throat makes your stomach clench, your teeth impaling the pink flesh of your lip.
“You are all I have been able to think about,” He whispers, his fingers curling into the band of your panties as he moves to his knees. “And now I finally get to have you.” Aaron pulls your panties down your trembling thighs, laying you bare before him as he slips one of your legs over his shoulder.
His warm breath fans over your soaked lips, your vision going hazy as you prop yourself on an elbow to see. He looks sinful between your thighs, dark eyes looking up at you through darker lashes, his hair tussled, jaw hanging open slightly. The anticipation makes your stomach swoop and the breath in your lungs freeze.
You’re given no warning before he ducks his head, his tongue licking a fat stripe from your entrance and catching on your clit. You gasp at the sensation, your head falling back against the bed. Aaron wraps his arm around your thigh, holding you still as he circles your clit with the tip of his tongue, your legs threatening to squeeze his skull.
“Oh fuck…” You moan, your hand finding his short hair and tugging almost painfully, back leaving the bed. Aaron smiles against you, his teeth nipping at your folds before he lazily fucks his tongue into your dripping hole. “Oh god, Aaron…”
“You taste so fucking sweet.” His arm tightens on your thigh, his other hand tracing patterns on the inner skin of the other. You squirm at the feeling, your eyes pinched shut as waves of arousal roll through your body. Aaron’s dark eyes travel up the expanse of your body, seeking your face but he can only see the way your chest rises and falls with each gasping breath, your head tossed back as noises of pleasure fill the room.
His cock pulses in the tight confines of his slacks, the need to feel your wet heat wrapped around his aching member nearly driving him insane.
“Fuck, please Aaron…” You aren’t sure what you are begging for as your orgasm begins to swell under your skin, pulling your muscles taught. A part of you wants to feel embarrassed at how easily he has been able to bring you to the brink, but the sounds of his moans between your legs quickly floods the thought out.
“Cum for me baby, make a mess on my face.” It’s dirty and mind reeling all at once, your jaw going slack as your hips grind up to meet his mouth. Aaron slips two fingers to your opening, gathering the combination of slick and spit before easing into you.
A soft whimper accompanies the sudden intrusion, your hips undulating to take more of his thick digits as your orgasm creeps ever closer. He sets a steady rhythm, slow and deep that leaves stars dancing around your vision and with one final swirl of his tongue as his fingers curl into that spongy spot deep in your walls you break.
Your orgasm rips through your body like a bolt of lightening. Your limbs lock and your back bows up, your lips form a perfect ‘O’ as waves of pleasure crash over you.
“That is, that’s my good girl.” Aaron praises, keeping his pace steady as you moan his name like a prayer. It’s a few more seconds until your body collapses back onto the bed, your fingers falling from his hair taking a strand or two with them. Aaron pulls away, standing back up licking your slick from his fingers with a grumbling groan.
Climbing back up your body he creates a trail of kisses that leave you feeling hot and desperate, a distinct emptiness between your legs as he settles over you. Aaron cups the back of your head, lifting you to meet his bruising kiss. The tangy taste of yourself is heavy on his tongue as he explores your mouth, your still trembling hands finding his back and pulling him closer.
The hard ridge in his slacks presses against your heated, slick core, grinding slowly. You whimper into his mouth, hands trialing up his back, scratching at his shirt. You break away with a gasp. “To… too many clothes.” Going for the small plastic buttons Aaron lets out a soft laugh as your fumble over them.
“Easy princess. All you had to do was ask.” He sits back on his heels, your legs draped over his thighs and you watch mesmerized as his fingers easily work the buttons free, revealing his chest full of dark hair. You manage to twist your arm behind your back, freeing the clasp of your bra and quickly throwing it somewhere in the floor to join the growing pile.
Aaron groans at the sight of you, his mouth watering as he thinks of every spot he wants to cover with bites and bruises. Starting with your breasts. He leans over you, snagging your wrists and pinning them to the bed.
You bite your cheek, surprised that you welcome the weight of him above you, that you like the feeling of him pinning you down, leaving you to his mercy. You find your mind slipping more, every worried thought falling into some unreachable place that can remain in the dark.
Clearing his throat lightly, Aaron licks his lips. “Maybe I should have asked this sooner but… when was the last time you were with someone.?”
An awkward but none the less important question to ask, even if he is seated between your trembling thighs, staring down at your naked body.
A new flush spreads over your cheeks and you shift against the bed, against the hold he has on your wrists. “I… I was in high school.”
A moment of shock steals his features before he can school his face back. “Do you take birth control?”
You squirm again, chewing the inside of your cheek as his thumbs rub over your galloping pulse. “I.. Every three months I go get a shot. It’s better than taking a pill every day that I might forget.” You explain weakly, searching his face.
Aaron nods, shifting his weight on his knees, his cold belt buckle pressing into your thigh. “I can always grab a condom if that makes you feel better.” One hand leaves your wrist but you don’t dare move as he places it on your lower tummy, spreading wide. “But I have to admit, the idea of fucking you full of me is very, very exciting.” Your breath catches, eyes widening and Aaron’s grin turns devilish. “You think so too.”
All you can do is nod slightly, a thrill working through your body that makes the hairs on your arms stand on end, gooseflesh cascading over your skin.
Sitting back, Aaron releases you completely to fiddle with his belt. The brown leather hisses through the belt loops and when he stands he takes his pants and boxers down in one swoop. Your eyes instantly fall to the hard member standing up between his legs and your thighs clench.
His cock is long and thick, the dark hairs at the base trimmed neatly like the rest of him. A few veins run along his shaft, the prominent one on the underside pulsing slightly. He takes himself in his hand, pumping once, twice, to relieve some of the ache, the mushroom head a light shade of pink.
You whimper at the sight of him, the need in your belly almost painful. “Aaron… I want you.” Your voice is sultry, your eyes glazed over when you finally look at his face. He smiles crookedly as he slinks back onto the bed, his eyebrow cocked.
“You can have me, princess. Every part of me is yours.” The words scorch through your chest right to the very center of your soul and you find your legs falling apart, your hands still gripping the sheets above your head. “Come here.” Instead of covering you with his body, Aaron lays down beside you, turning you so you lay on your side as well.
“What?” He pulls your back flush to his chest, his hand slipping over your thigh and dragging your leg on top of his. You whimper when you feel the smooth heat of his cock glide through your wet folds, your back instinctively arching into him.
Aaron’s arm tucks under your head, his other hand free to roam your body as he rocks his hips, slipping his cock between your folds with ease, gathering your slick. “So wet baby, so ready for me aren’t you?” He breathes, pressing kisses along your shoulder and neck. You whine and press your head back into his shoulder, exposing your neck more. “That’s my girl. Are you going to let me mark you up? Show everyone just who you belong to?”
You nod without a thought in your head, “Y-yes… please Aaron.” He smiles against your skin before nipping the delicate area, turning the skin a deep shade of red as he closes his lips over the spot. You moan loudly, rocking your hips back against his, the steady glide of his cock bumping into your clit driving you wild.
“So fucking pretty.” He whispers and you force yourself to turn your head and look at him. When you do your heart jumps to your throat, his hooded eyes burn with lust but there’s something else swirling just below the surface, something that makes your head groggy and your body melt into his.
“You belong right here.” His voice is deep and rough and it makes your jaw slacken. Your chest squeezes, butterflies erupting in your stomach, beating at you with their wings as his hips draw back. The round head of his cock presses against your entrance, his hand tightening on your hip. “I’m going to enjoy every moment of watching you come undone for me.” He presses forward, stretching you around him and your nails dig into his forearm with a whine. Aaron’s gaze never wavers from yours, caught in the depths of your irises. “Then every moment of piecing you back together.”
Leisurely Aaron rocks his hips, slipping deeper and deeper into your wet heat. Every inch has your back arching, the ridges and bumps rubbing along your walls in the most perfect way. Your eyes slip nearly shut, your breath puffing across his pink lips and your only awareness is of Aaron. How his muscles bunch under your hand, how your body sticks to his from the heat radiating between you both, how his fingers dig into your flesh guiding your hips back to meet his as he sinks home.
Never have you felt this full, the stretch burns and it boarders on painful but you wouldn’t want it any other way. Ecstasy skirts down Aaron’s spine, making his own groan slip free and his cock twitch. You jump at the feeling, your breath wheezing in your lungs and he smiles, repeating the motion.
“Aaron… oh fuck.” It’s all you can manage, head falling back into the crevice of his shoulder, one arm wrapping up around his that pillows your head. His name is a soft, sweet beg and it has Aaron’s stoicism crumpling.
“Tell me what you need, princess. I’ll give you everything.” His breath is warm against your ear, your eyes starting to water for reasons you can’t explain the longer he stays seated inside you. His hand continuously strokes your side as you fight for your words, kisses littering your jaw as the seconds pass.
“I need… I need you to move, Aaron.”
There isn’t a chance in hell he would make you beg twice, slowly he pulls back, ensuring you feel every part of him before pushing back in. Your jaw drops, uninhibited moans falling past your lips at the steady rhythm he sets. Aaron slips his hand to your cheek, caressing you with his thumb in time to each deep thrust. “You take me so well, my cock was made just for you wasn’t it?”
It consumes your body like a wild fire, burning intense and bright, cracking through your skin which each grind of his hips. You cling to him where you can, your eyes rolling back into your skull, and he uses the opportunity to turn your face back to his. Aaron kisses you with no sense of urgency, no rush to throw you to the end, he claims your mouth the same way he claims your body; with a measure of patience and understanding that leaves you reeling.
You break away first, moaning his name and his hand travels down your neck, cupping your heavy breast as his lips find your neck. His long fingers toy with your pebbled nipple, sparks flying into your stomach with each pinch and roll. Your leg tightens around his thigh, your breath coming faster as your body arches into his touch.
“I’m… fuck I’m going to cum.” You breath into the warm air, your cunt fluttering around his cock rhythmically.
“Cum for me, take what you need and cum all over my cock.” Aaron’s rhythm doesnt falter in the slightest, the pump of his cock hard and slow hitting spots you’d never dreamt of finding. His hand leaves your breast, trailing down your stomach slowly circling your belly. You moan at the feeling, his lips pulling into a smile against your skin. “This little part right here, this part of your beautiful belly, drives me mad.” His hand presses down into your lower stomach slightly and you see stars at the sudden pressure, feeling his cock against rubbing against your muscles. “Imagining you heavy and round-.” Aaron groans as your cunt tightens, your breath uneven like the sudden stutter in your hips. “Pregnant with my baby.”
A guttural version of his name leaves your lips as you snap in two. The fire inside your body turning into an inferno, consuming you entirely as you cling helplessly to Aaron. Your head is flush with his shoulder, your foot hooked around his leg as your pussy spasms and coats his cock with cream. Aaron’s pace suddenly falters and he moans loudly, the feeling of your velvet walls clamping down around him nearly his undoing.
Slowly you drift back to yourself, gasping for air and shuddering as the aftershocks rock through you. You lick your lips, about to say anything when suddenly Aaron is pressing you forward, rolling you onto your front. He slips free of your pussy and you whimper, letting him adjust your pliant body to his needs. With your chest pressed to the bed and your ass thrust into the air Aaron groans at the sight of you. Your thighs tremble in effort to keep yourself up right, sweat gleams across your back and shoulders, flushing your skin a beautiful shade of pink. “You’re doing so good for me.” His hands graze over the globe of your ass, settling on your hips as he nudges your knees apart, adjusting your stance. You make a soft noise in your throat, fingers finding hold in the bedding. “I know baby, you’re being such a good girl though. I know you can take it, just relax for me.” Your brain hardly keeps up, picking out the important words in its state and your body melts into the mattress with a sigh. His cock aligns with your opening, teasing until you whimper, rocking back trying to impale yourself on him. Aaron smiles, sweeping your hair off of your neck and into his fist. He's gentle as he tugs at the strands, testing the waters and you moan, eyes rolling into the back of your head.
"That's it baby. Just like that." He draws out the words as he sinks into your heat. The angle is so much different than before, the head of his cock rubbing along the front wall of your cunt and you gape at the sensation. Your grip tightens on the bed as his hips become flush with your ass, giving you a moment to adjust.
"Oh fuck... Oh fuck." You mumble, electricity skimming up your spine as Aaron pulls back until only the tip is left.
"Beg for me." The words are a laced growl and you simper below him, the hold on your hair growing tighter.
"Please, please Aaron I want- I need you so bad. Please fuck me." You don't know where the words come from, somewhere deep and primal in your guts but they have never felt so right.
Aaron's hips snap forward, sinking into you at a punishing force and you cry into the air, the need and pleasure curling back into your stomach with a vengeance. To say Aaron is fucking you into the mattress is an understatement, the hold on your hip is bruising and the grip on your hair is punishing. The lewd sounds of sex fill the air, wet squelching as his cock sinks into you, the slap of skin against skin and the unmistakable moans of pleasure.
"Such a good. Fucking. Girl." He breathes, his body curving over your own, husky moans falling from his lips as he pounds into you. "Fuck baby, you're squeezing me so hard. Are you gonna cum for me? Gonna cum all over my cock?"
Your head tips back a smile curving your lips at his praise and you nod what little you can. "Yeees! Oh god yes Aaron.” You hold onto the sheets with white knuckled force, your moans and gasps mixing with his grunts making an intoxicating song. He growls low in his chest, his teeth bared, sweat gleaming on his shoulders and forehead.
“I’m gonna cum Y/n… I’m gonna make you mine. Again.” A harsh thrust makes you keen, your head tilting back making your neck strain. “And again.” Another one leaves you gasping, your mouth falling open. “And again.”
You snap simultaneously, his hips slamming into your ass as you cry his name. His cock switches, painting your walls with ropes of milky cum, your cunt squeezing every last drop free as you shudder and collapse. Lights dance behind your lids, your orgasm moving through your body with such force you are scarcely aware of the moans falling from Aaron’s kiss bitten lips.
“Mine. My good girl, my pretty little thing.”
It takes a few more moments before Aaron is able to roll onto his back beside you, grunting slightly at the burn in his hips as you let out a soft moan, stretching out your soar muscles. Aaron pulls you into his side easily, wrapping an arm around your waist as your head finds his shoulder.
You both lay like that for several minutes, basking in the afterglow of it all as you try to catch your breaths. Your brain hasn’t quite caught up to your sated body, letting the euphoria and calm take the lead for a while longer.
Aaron is the first to break the soft silence. “We need to get you cleaned up.” A soft noise of protest leaves your lips, your limbs too heavy to move. A smile in his voice makes your own lips curl, “I know. But we need to. There’s going to be a lot going on tomorrow.”
With that you can’t argue, so you allowed Aaron to slip from your grip, the sound of water running in the bathroom filling the quiet. Moments later he’s back, helping you into the restroom on unsteady legs where a warm shower awaits.
When he steps in behind you, you only have a moment to be surprised before he pulls you under the stream of water. The shower is small with just enough room for the both of you, but you find no protest on your lips as Aaron begins massaging his fingers through your hair.
You sigh blissfully, letting your weight rest against his chest as he works away the agony of today, but also a little off of the mountain that has weighed you down for so long.
“I don’t care about the contact.” His deep voice is sudden making you jump slightly.
“What?”
“I don’t care about the contract.” Aaron runs his hands down to your shoulders, turning you slightly so you can gauge his face as he speaks. “I care about you, the contract was… is a piece of paper to ensure neither of us got hurt. We don’t need it.”
You scan his face, his dark eyes reading so much more than he is saying. “What… what do we do then?” Your throat works as you swallow, butterflies eating once more at your belly as Aaron cups your check.
“Whatever you would like… but… I like the idea of you coming to me with your problems, of taking care of you, of you being mine.” He curls your necklace around one of his fingers, tugging softly and a new heat flairs at the bottom of your spine. Aaron’s dark eyes scan your face, trying to read your thoughts.
“I…” You swallow, the reality hitting you. These last few days had you thrown through the wringer, forced out of your comfort zone, and brought dark secrets to light. You’ve struggled and cried and raged all while finding comfort and passion and acceptance in ways you didn’t know existed before Aaron Hotchner knocked on your door one dark morning.
You nod your head slowly, licking your lips as you run your hands up his chest, the water spilling over his shoulder and the mist sprinkling your cheeks. You press in tighter and Aaron cups the back of your head, angling it ready to capture your lips at a moment’s notice.
“I can still call you ‘Sir’?”
A large smile breaks across his face, wrinkling the corners of his eyes as he cups your face, bringing you closer. "You can call me whatever you would like, little one..." His palm slips into your wet hair, tangling his fist into the strands and giving a soft tug. "As long as I get to call you mine." He laces the word with a growl and crashes his lips to yours with surprising force, need instantly flooding out the exhaustion from your system. You gasp against his lips, whimpering a soft yes as his tongue sweeps over your own.
"Good girl."

three’s a (choi) charm! ˙ ⋆ . ˚ ☆
03. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER.
warnings: profanity, written + socmed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the five of you are in the car, blasting music and talking amongst yourselves as taehyun continues following the gps to take you all to the most popular beach in the area. there’s a bunch of snacks, towels & flip flops shuffling in trunk as the car rolls over a speed bump.
you scroll on instagram as you talk to yunjin about your plan for the three men that await you. “let’s say they’re literally besties or even so, related! what do i do then?”
“i say run away, honestly. like that’s actually kind of embarrassing idontknowthough.” yunjin says as a matter of factly, mumbling the last few words. “okay but think about it, what if… nevermind, i wouldn’t know what to do if they were related or something, that’s truly humbling and embarrassing for me.” you add, straightening your lips into a tight lipped smile.
“exactly. don’t even try to act like your awkward ass would do something ‘cause we all know you wouldn’t.” yunjin laughs softly as the rest of the group agrees with mhmm or yup.
you roll your eyes playfully and smile at them, “yeah, i guess you’re right, i’d probably be too scared to even text them after that if that were the case,” you pause, seeing the beach come into view. “oh fuck we’re here.”
taehyun barely nods as he pops the trunk for ryujin and huening to retrieve the items in there. once they finish doing so, he turns off the car and hops out after unbuckling his seatbelt and you all follow suit.
everyone wraps a towel around their necks, switches out their shoes for flip flops and puts their hair into whatever style would be suitable for them. you on the other hand are nervous, extremely nervous. you can’t help but check your surroundings and be conscious of your looks. you begin pulling out your phone camera to check yourself until yunjin stops you, “babe, you look good, c’mon.” she reminds you before interlinking your hands and dragging you alongside her.
you see ryujin already setting up the area where you’ll all be coming back to and taehyun pouring a pound of ice into a cooler. huening is quick to come behind you with a case of water and other beverages to help with the heat. you smile in fondness as you see that you’re finally spending time with your childhood friends.
halting your thoughts, you feel yunjin nudge your arm and motion her head in front of you. “is that soobin?” she asks, making your head quirk up at the mention of your tinder match’s name. it is soobin.
you see him in all his glory, standing about 6feet tall, grey shorts, blue button down and his gorgeous dimples prominent as every word falls from his perfect lips. you sigh in awe, pulling out your phone and texting him look up and look to your right! he’s very quick to check his phone and his smile grows as he sees your message, doing exactly what you told him.
you see him look around, smiling and waving as he does so. he finally catches your eyes and begins walking over to you but someone, more like people, call his name. he’s quick to change his direction of sight and guides it over to two other men standing up and motioning him over.
you can’t exactly make out their faces from the spot you’re at but it would be easy to say that those are the people he came with, the few family members he mentioned. both of them have long black hair but one has his hair tied up in a half up half down. you wait for soobin to finish his conversation and watch as he begins to make his way over to you, also noticing that his two family members are trailing him with their eyes.
once he approaches you, they both furrow their brows and sit up to make sure that they’re seeing this right. you look back over to both of them and shock slowly creeps into your face.
no fucking way, is exactly what you’re thinking. the two men that soobin just so happen to be with are the other men you matched with on your tinder. yeonjun and beomgyu.
soobin watches as your face contorts with fear and looks over to see who you’re so scared to see. he sees you looking at his cousins and looks back over to you with furrowed brows.
he finally speaks, “is something wrong?” he asks, voice laced with concern. “yeahyeah everything’s fine, just give me a sec okay?” you blurt out, catching the man in front of you off guard as you begin running towards yunjin who’s at the bar.
“yunjin, i fucking jinxed it, we fucking jinxed it.” you say, panting heavily as if you had just ran a marathon. she looks at you with distraught and confusion adorning her features, blinking rapidly. “what the hell are you talking about?”
“they’re fucking related, yunjin!” you yell with agony lacing your voice. her mouth drops open with her straw falling back into her cup. “say you’re lying.” she says as she darts her eyes to behind you. “i wish i was fucking lying. i kid you not, i see soobin right? he sees me, he begins walking over to me but somebody calls him, oh! not just somebody, yeonjun and fucking beomgyu,” you pause, catching your breath, “and mind you, at first, i didn’t fucking know who the hell they were because i didn’t really care! i was here for soobin! but turns out, i was here for all three of them!” you groan, shoving your head into your hands.
yunjin, who listened to everything, is quite literally in utter shock. “so guess what, i took your advice and i ran away, soobin was definitely confused to say the least but yeonjun and beomgyu looked fucking disgusted so now i’m scared as shit because what if they find me and confront me or some shit?”
yunjin sighs heavily as she looks up but her breath gets caught in her throat and her eyes widen. “y/n, i want you to look behind you very slowly, do not freak out and do not run away. please.” you take in her words, doing as she says and freezing up immediately.
all three of them are looking at you along with three other men. yeonjun is nodding slowly with a smile on his face, beomgyu has his tongue poking his cheek and soobin looks completely confused. they begin talking amongst themselves before the main three begin walking towards you. your eyes widen and your feet start moving before you can even process what you’re doing.
yunjin yells after you, face immediately dropping once she sees you’re already too far away to even hear her. the three boys are shocked at how fast you ran, eyes widened and mouths agape. so instead of approaching you, they approach yunjin. she looks at them, looks away slowly and proceeds to sip her drink. she gulps down every last bit of her virgin pina colada and turns to face the three men in front of her.
beomgyu slightly cocks his head to the side with his eyebrows raised as a way of saying did you know? which causes yunjin to sigh and speak up.
“i didn’t know y’all were related in any way but i did know she matched with all three of you on the same day.” and to that, soobin raises his hand, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. “that’s weird, that never usually happens does it?” he asks yunjin. she responds with a small shrug, “i don’t know, it never happened to me,” she adds.
“if you want her to choose between you three, i’ll try to get her to do so, it might be hard but i could at least try if that’s what you want.” she says with an awkward smile.
yeonjun chuckles at her response, looking at the two next to him and watching as they motion him to proceed before saying something that yunjin will ever forget.
“tell her that it’s fine, we love a good competition anyway.”

"See you when you get back," Voight says over the phone before ending the call. Y/N places her phone back in her pocket as she makes her way back over to Jay.
"Voight wants us back at the district," she says as they clamber into his RAM truck. She fastens her seatbelt before removing her frozen gloves and holds her hands in front of the heater that is blasting hot air into the vehicle. As she warms up, her shivering and chattering teeth ease off. "How can it be any colder in Chicago? It's already below freezing."
"I told you we should have called in sick and stayed in bed all day," he recalls from their conversation as they lay in bed for an extra five minutes this morning, savoring each other's warmth.
"I'm sure Voight would have appreciated being two detectives short," she says, reminding him of why they couldn't. As much she loved the idea of spending the day curled up in bed with Jay, keeping warm in more ways than one, she is aware that Voight and the others would never believe that she and Jay are both sick.
"I was thinking that after shift, we order some food and crack open that bottle of wine your parents gave us," Jay suggests, smiling and tilting her head towards him. Before starting the drive back to District 21, he gently kisses her with his frosty lips.
As she watches him driving, she quips, "What are we celebrating?"
He responds, "Not having to go to work tomorrow and getting to spend the day in bed like we should have done today."
She smiles, turning her head to stare out the window, "That is something worth celebrating."
"I was thinking we could also talk about getting married," he says, prompting her head to jerk back to face him.
"Say that again," Is all she's able to say as she looks at him with wide eyes and a shocked look on her face. This was the first time that marriage was spoken between the two detectives, who had been dating for just over a year.
Y/N is convinced that Jay is the man she intends to settle down with, marry and have a family too. Jay has always been her person, even before they went on their first date. He wasn't just her work partner and boyfriend. He's her best friend and she couldn't imagine her life without him in it.
"We should get married," he says being more up front about it as he quickly glances at her before looking back out at the road.
"Right now?" she asks, unable to form any other words, still in shock.
"If Voight didn't need us back right away, I would marry you right now," he admits. "But I was thinking, give us a few months to plan an actual wedding and we get married then."
"You want to get married?" she asks, still processing his words.
"To you?" he asks rhetorically. "Fuck, yeah."
"Pull over!" she orders him, her voice coming out a little louder and more commanding than she anticipated.
"Are you okay?" he asks glancing at her quickly again, this time with a concerned look on worried face.
"Just pull over," she tells him, her voice much softer this time.
He indicates and pulls to the side of the road, only having a second to put the truck in park before her lips are attached to his in a passionate kiss. He reaches a hand behind her head, tangling his fingers in her hair, as he kisses back just as passionately.
Becoming breathless, they break the kiss but remain close, an inch barely between them as they look at each other lovingly. "If not right now, let's get married tomorrow."
"You don't want to plan a wedding?" he asks, massaging the back of her head, where his hand is still tangled in her hair.
"We can do that later," she says and bites the inside of her cheek waiting for his response.
"You really want to do it tomorrow?" he asks, making sure it's what she wants to do.
"Why wait?" she asks. "We both know this job is unpredictable, who knows what can happen in the next few months. But what I do know is that I want nothing more than to be your partner and your wife."
"I'll give Will a call and see what he's doing tomorrow," he smiles and kisses her once more. "I love you."
"I love you too," she replies kissing him back before moving back into her seat. Putting her seatbelt back on as he starts to drive again, she looks at him before asking, "So where's my ring?"
"In my locker," he tells her, looking sheepish as he bites his bottom lip.
"At work?" she asks surprised he had brought it with him.
"At the gym," he teases with a chuckle before adding, "Yeah, at work."
"Was this your plan all along? Propose to me while at work?"
"I was going to do it tonight but then I saw you all wrapped up in five jackets, 6 beanies and three pairs of gloves and I just knew I couldn't wait until then," he continues, teasing her about how many layers she's wearing to keep warm on Chicago's coldest day of the year.
"Maybe we should wait a year to get married," she teases back.
"You couldn't wait that long," he smiles and takes her hand in his, placing a soft kiss to the back of it.

“Ma’am, I need you to get out and walk in a straight line for me,” Johnny opens your door with a grin on his face.
“What?” You hiss.
“You heard me. Standard check.”
“Why are you doing this?” You stare up at him.
“You’re not the one asking questions. Now get out and walk a fucking straight line before I drag you.”
You undo your seatbelt and get out. He doesn’t back up. You’re forced close to him as he crowds you against the car. He swings the door shut and points down the tarmac.
“Ten steps away and back.”
You obey, walking steadily while counting aloud, then turning and coming back. His smug expression irks you, more so it saddens you. You thought he loved you. All those years…
“Alright, now this time, I want you to touch your nose, back and forth,” he taunts, “tap with your finger, both hands.”
You cringe and turn your back to him. You take even paces, taping your nose first with your left, then your right, repeating it over and over until you’re back by your car. He snorts and taps his pen on his notepad.
“I think we should do a breathalyzer,” he glances over pointedly. You see Carol across the street, watching. Really?
“Can we just get this over with?” You whisper.
“What was that, ma’am?” He cups his ear, “you’re gonna have to speak up.” You frown and cross your arms. He tilts his head, “you getting defiant?”
You pull your arms apart and drop them straight. You lift your chin and stare at him. He directs you to follow him to his car. He has you stand by the hood as he goes inside to get the breathalyzer.
He brings it before your mouth and you put your lips around it. He tells you to blow, watching you with a sneer.
“Is that how you do it with him, hm? Getting sloppy all over his dick–”
You hear a car honk and another veers around. You glance over, popping your mouth off as the machine beeps. A door flings open as you recognise the car. You’re not so relieved to see Lloyd as he marches through traffic without a single concern for the residential traffic.
“Ey, Officer Fuckface,” he blusters over, only one button on his satin shirt buttoned, “you’re ruining date night.”
“Sir, go back to your car–”
“Sir, fuck off!” Lloyd retorts, “she’s over your limp dick. What do you want? You gonna smash her face in again? I’m sure resisting arrest is a fair story when you don’t have a dozen witnesses hanging around.”
His blunt words, the reminder of what Johnny did, makes you wince. He's so nonchalant it hurts as much as the memory.
“Sir,” Johnny puffs out his chest as he faces Lloyd and they come up close, “I said back up.”
“Make me, Officer Cum Sock.”
“You think I care about a slut?” Johnny growls.
“I think you get lonely without someone to tug you off for the thirsty seconds it takes you to drain those raisins you call balls,” Lloyd barks, “now I got a date. I’m due at six o’clock to blow a certain lady’s back out–”
Johnny doesn’t hold back. You feel the crack in Lloyd’s nose as Johnny suckers him. Lloyd recoils, covering his face with a hand as he snarls. Johnny pulls free his nightstick and you gasp. You latch onto his arm before he can swing at the other man.
Johnny tries to shake you off, knocking your head with the end of the club. You cry out and splay over the pavement. Dizzily you look up as Johnny staggers back. The men swing at each other. Lloyd deflects the night stick, grabbing onto it and twisting it free. He aims it at Johnny’s leg and knocks him on his ass.
You whine and try to crawl forward as Johnny shields himself. Lloyd lays another strike on his shoulder, then his forearm. Johnny cries out, grunting as he’s beat down by the angry man, satin fluttering in rage.
“Lloyd,” you get to your knees, regaining your senses, “please, stop, stop! You’re gonna kill him.”
“I fucking should,” Lloyd throws the night stick at Johnny so it bounces off his stomach.
“There’ll be more cops on their way,” you gulp.
“So the fuck what,” Lloyd nudges past you. You cling to his arm as you try to stop him. He wipes his face and spits blood onto the pavement as he bends over Johnny, “say hi to Fowler for me.”
“Fowler,” Johnny gurgles, his teeth red with blood.
“Have fun working the turf for life, scumbag,” Lloyd tries to shrug you off as you tug on him, “dollface, the men are talking.”
“You’ve done enough of that,” you turn and put your hand on his chest, “let me get you home. You’re bleeding all over.”
“What– huh?”
You reach up to touch his jaw as he looks down at you. You swipe your thumb over his mustache as the blood gushes down and stains the hair.
“Come on, you did good, let’s just go,” you plead gently, shaking, “I’ll get you cleaned up…” You try to look flirty but jitter instead, “so we can get dirty…”
You don’t sound convinced but he doesn’t seem to care and his lips curl, “oh, fuck yeah.”
“Alright, let’s go,” you pat his chest, “I’ll just go leave my car at the daycare, alright?”
His eyes are fiery with adrenaline. He peeks down at Johnny and you shake your head, saying his name firmly.
“I owe you, right?” You say, “can’t pay you back if you’re all messed up.”
He huffs and raises his hands. He takes a step on his heel. Johnny groans and coughs, “you’ll fuckin’ see–”
“Want more, baby dick?” Lloyd goes to charge at him and you insert yourself between them once more.
“Hey, hey,” you raise your voice, just a little, louder than you would ever dare. “I said get in your car,” you point at him, “if we’re not home by six, I’ll be too tired to…” you let your eyes trail down, unable to say the words out loud.
He follows your gaze, “you gonna… suck it?”
“Sure, please, just wait for me. In. The. Car.” You enunciate each word.
“What about this fuck?” He gestures to Johnny.
“Don’t think he’ll get up anytime soon,” you mutter, “go.”
“Hey, with that mouth on my mind, the weight of my balls is gonna throw me off too much to throw a good hook,” Lloyd cackles.
You give him a pointed look and he winks. He retreats and strides across the street, legs slightly apart as he ignores the car that beeps at him. You turn and look down at Johnny.
“I never cheated on you. Never would’ve,” you say softly, “I loved you, J.”
“Bullshit,” he spits.
You shrug and step over him. You can’t say your feelings for him are entirely gone, but you feel them dwindling. It’s clear to you now, he never cared as much for you as you did him.

I’m ready. delivered 8:47
Okay! On my way read 8:48
Peter grabbed his keys from off the key hook leaving his dorm in a silent rush his roommate having been absent at the time he was leaving the reminder to shoot him a text disingestes in the back of his mind as he flys down the stairs of his dorm building ignoring the questioning stare he gets from one of the campus security officers as he speeds through the lobby out of the doors and into the parking lot resisting the urge to get to his car with a web from his wrist it’s slightly sprinkling a little cloudy making it cooler with the fall breeze roaming the streets stray leaves that had fallen off the trees drag along the streets when the wind blows on them he starts up his Lexus crossover truck payed in the full by Tony Stark as a graduation gift before pulling out of his parking spot and out of the lot the drive not long to your Sorority house
Before the brunette could pick up his phone to alert you he was there you were already coming out the door after one of your sisters yelled into the house from their position on the swinging seat from the front porch and when you stepped foot out the door he watched you two hug the dirty blonde girl whispering something in your ear before slipping through the door shutting it closed behind her before you trot down the stairs making a way to his car
“Hey you look, you look…” The pale skinned boy couldn’t seem to find words up fitting enough to describe your appearance his chocolate colored eyes raking over your figure as you took a seat next to him your face holding a smirk as you playfully flipped your hair over your shoulder
“You should close your mouth you’ll catch flies” You hummed pulling your perfume from your purse spraying it all over your body as Peter began to drive off from the front of your house after swallowing the thick nothingness in his throat is Adams’s apple bobbing
“Make sure to keep it like that” You demanded turning on your side to watch the brunette lying a hand on his arm that he let you take control of his opposite sat against the steering wheel driving you through traffic
“Keep what?” Your perfume was clouding his senses you skin cells transferring onto his while he occasionally glanced at your features taking them all in one at a time
“Your hair I like the curls stop gelling it down” You spoke softly probably the most soft he’s heard you speak in the time knowing you Peter would be lying if he said he didn’t hear or get told things about you, you were someone he should’ve stayed far away from, should’ve had his guard up around, yet he let you collect his heart and put it in your collection for you to toy with anytime you wanted and he let you do so without any protest
“Yeah, yeah okay” He whispered a small smile on his face as you pulled up to the restaurant you were dining at you unbuckled your seatbelt opening the truck door a slamming it shut while Peter rolled down the window the once genuine beam on his face now dimmed and a lie
“You swear this is your last one?” The brunette mumbled his doe chestnut eyes sad and puppy dog like
“See you later bug boy” You hummed before stepping up on the curb your heeled boots clicking against the pavement as you entered the winery restaurant Peter knew he should’ve drove off prevent his own feeling from being hurt and not invade your privacy but he couldn’t help himself especially when he viewed you hugging Brad Davis out of all people

Entirely Forbidden and Completely Fucked- Chapter Six
Tumblr media
MDNI, 18+, NSFW
Author's Note:
I am going to start adding episodes from the show into the story. But it does not follow the show completely. For instance, they're not looking for John (yet), Sam and Jess were never a thing, although Sam did go to Stanford a few years ago but came back before y/n came in.
Trigger Warnings: Wincest + Half-Sister, Praise, Degradation, Choking, Withheld Orgasms, Squirting.
Chapter Six
Dean
“Come on, let's go!” I call out to Sam and y/n as I throw my duffle bag into the back seat of the Impala. We don’t have time to waste, and we need to hit the road. We should’ve left last night but I couldn’t leave Sammy and her unsatisfied. Those two, I swear to God. Since that night on the hood of the Impala on our way back from Ellen’s, we’ve been fucking like rabbits around the bunker. Thank God that Dad isn’t here. Never thought I’d say that.
“You need to relax,” Sam chuckles as he throws his and y/n’s duffles into the back seat and closes the door. I throw him a glare and shake my head.
Y/n slides into the middle seat between me and Sam with a yawn. “Where are we going again?” She asks tiredly.
“Jericho, California,” I remind her as I start the engine, and Sam slides in next to her. “Seatbelt,” I tell y/n as I put the car in drive.
Y/n laughs and rolls her eyes. “Since when do you care about seatbelts?” She quips with a smirk.
“Just put the damn seatbelt on, y/n,” I snip back.
“Yes, big brother,” she flirts in that tone of voice she knows drives me crazy. She puts the lap belt on and pats it on her hips.
“What about me? I’m your big brother too,” Sam flirts, putting an arm over her shoulders on the back of the seat. “Or is Dean your favorite now? Because last night,” he leans down and kisses her neck, and I feel her suck in a breath. “It was my name you were screaming,” he mutters as I pull out of the bunker garage.
Tumblr media
Y/n
“I swear, man, you’ve gotta update your cassette collection,” Sam jokes as he digs through the box of cassette tapes Dean has.
“Why?” Dean asks as we pass the sign that welcomes up into Jericho.
Sam laughs as he pulls out some of the tapes. “Well, for one, they’re cassette tapes. And two: Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Metallica?! It’s the greatest hits of mullet rock,” Sam jokes, holding up the tapes. He has a point Dean could do with updating his music collection. But I think his head would explode if he tried.
“House rules, Sammy,” Dean says with a smile as he looks over at him. “Driver picks the music. Shotgun shuts his cakehole.”
I laugh and take the box from Sam. “Here, I’ll pick something,” I say, looking through the box.
“Hey, hey. What did I just say?” Dean says in an offended voice as I pull out the tape I was looking for.
I give Dean a fake pouting look and give him my best innocent voice that I know he loves. “Please, big brother?” I beg, batting my eyelashes for good measure.
Dean sighs and narrows his eyes, holding up one finger. “One song,” he says sternly.
I smile victoriously and switch the cassette tapes, putting in a Bon Jovi one. I skip to the song I want and turn up the stereo volume as ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’ plays over the speakers. I turn to look at Dean and smile. “Good enough for you?” I tease.
About halfway through the song, Dean turns it down and pulls onto a bridge where cops walk around. This must be where the guy we read about crashed his car. “Stay in the car,” Dean orders me as he reaches over to the glove box and pulls out fake IDs for him and Sam.
“Why can’t I come?” I ask as they both get out.
Sam sighs and leans down into the car. “Okay, fine, you can come. But don’t say a word. Watch and learn,” he orders me and moves out of the way so I can get out. I smile and get out, noticing the look of disapproval from Dean. But he doesn’t say anything as we walk up to the cops.
My heart races as my nerves fire off, scared the cops will figure out we’re not law enforcement.
“Evening, Officers,” Dean greets the cop with a handshake.
The cop looks at Dean suspiciously but shakes his hand. “Evening, gentlemen. This is a crime scene. You need to be behind the tape,” he says firmly, pointing behind us to the yellow police tape.
“Agents Angus and Young,” Sam says as he and Dean flash their fake badges.
The officer nods, and his demeanor changes as if he’s talking to a colleague. “My apologies, agents. And who is this?” He asks, looking at me between them.
“Junior agent Smith,” Dean answers cooly. The cop nods and walks them through the crime scene.
“We don’t know what exactly caused the crash or where he is now,” the cop says disappointedly with a sigh.
“Was he drinking?” Sam asks as they look over the bridge.
The cop shakes his head. “No. I don’t believe so. Troy is a good kid. His girlfriend is in town putting up missing persons papers.”
“And I assume you checked all of the hospitals in the area?” Dean asks.
The cop nods. “Hospitals, morgues, friends and family, nobody has seen him or someone who resembles his description.”
“You said the girlfriend is in town?” Sam asks. The cop nods. “What’s her name? We’d like to speak with her.”
“Amy, my daughter,” The cop answers. “Be gentle, she’s obviously upset.”
“Will do, sheriff,” Dean answers with a nod.
We find Amy outside of a diner in town, and Dean talks to her. “Amy?” Dean says, getting her attention.
“Yeah?” She asks, turning around. Her eyes are bloodshot, and she looks like she hasn’t slept since Troy went missing.
“I’m Dean, and this is my brother Sam and his daughter y/n. We’re Troy’s uncles,” Dean introduces us.
“Oh, hi. I’m sorry. I’m doing everything I can to find him,” Amy says with tears in her eyes.
Sam puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. “I know, Amy. Your dad told us where we could find you. We were just hoping we could ask you a few questions.”
I can’t help but feel a pang of jealousy course through me at Sam touching her. I feel bad for her. Really, I do. But I don’t want their hands on anyone but me.
“Of course,” Amy sniffles. “Um, we can talk inside,” she says, pointing to the diner where she was hanging the posters.
Inside, I sit quietly while Sam and Dean talk to Amy and her friend Rachel, who showed up. I might have said something if I wasn’t biting my tongue so hard I draw blood. I hate the way Rachel flirts with Dean, but considering he’s supposed to be my uncle, I can’t really say shit. Dean doesn’t flirt back, but that doesn’t make it piss me off any less.
“I wonder if it has something to do with the legend,” Rachel says quietly to Amy.
Amy shakes her head. “Don’t be ridiculous, Rach.”
“What legend?” Sam asks curiously next to me, leaning on the table with his elbows.
Amy sighs. “It’s just some stupid local legend,” she says, turning to Rachel. “And it doesn’t have anything to do with Troy.”
“Think about it, Ams,” Rachel says seriously. “The crash, the fact nobody has seen him, it all points to it.”
“What legend?” Dean says impatiently on my other side.
Rachel turns to Dean. “There’s a legend that a girl got murdered on Centennial Highway, and now, her ghost hitchhikes, and whoever picks her up disappears forever.”
“That’s not what happened to Troy,” Amy says angrily before storming off. Rachel follows after her, quickly apologizing to us before she leaves.
“Let’s hit the library,” Dean says, standing up from the booth.
Tumblr media
Sam
“Move,” I push Dean out of the computer chair and sit down. After all these years, he still sucks at research.
Dean slaps me on the shoulder. “Dude! You’re such a control freak,” Dean scoffs and stands next to y/n.
I ignore it, pull y/n into my lap, and open up the search bar again. “So, angry spirits are born out of violent death, right?”
“Yeah,” Dean says, irritated, leaning on the table next to us.
“Well, maybe it’s not a murder,” y/n says on my lap.
I smile and kiss her. “I love how you think,” I praise her, and she smiles. I type ‘Suicide on Centennial’ into the search bar and hit ‘search.’ I find an article from April 25, 1981 and click it. Dean leans over me and y/n and reads along with me.
The article describes a woman named Constance Welch, who jumped to her death off the bridge after she made a frantic 911 call that she found her two children, ages five and six, drowned in the bathtub when she stepped away for a few minutes.
“How awful,” y/n says sadly as she reads, wiping a tear from her eyes. I rub her side, comforting her. After losing her mom and still getting no answers, I can only imagine how hard this is hitting her.
I kiss the side of her head when she leans it on my shoulder. “There’s a statement from her husband,” I point out before reading it aloud. “What happened to my children was a terrible accident. And it must have been too much for my wife. Our babies were gone, and Constance couldn’t bear it,” said husband Joseph Welch. “Now I ask that you all please respect my privacy during this trying time.” I finish reading the quote from her husband.
Dean points to a picture of the husband standing next to the bridge where Troy died. “Does that bridge look familiar to you?” Dean asks.
Tumblr media
“So this is where Constance took a swan dive,” Dean says, leaning over the bridge railing.
“Dean, be careful,” Y/n says next to me, a foot behind Dean.
Dean turns around and smirks at her. “What? Are you scared I’ll fall?” Dean jokes and pretends to fall backward toward the rail.
“Dean!” Y/n and I say simultaneously and reach out for him.
“I’m kidding,” Dean laughs. “Seriously, chill out,” Dean says with a smirk to both of us.
Y/n slaps Dean’s chest hard. “Fuck you,” she seethes and whips around, flinging her hair over her shoulder.
Dean smirks and stands behind her, gathering her hair in his hand and pulling her head back, making her gasp. “What did we tell you about tying back your hair?” Dean asks, holding her waist to his chest.
“I got a headache,” y/n says softly, leaning into Dean.
“Mm, you want a different type of ache, princess?” Dean teases, running his hand down her waist and cupping her between her legs. My cock tightens in my jeans as I watch them together. I never imagined sharing Dean with anyone, but then again, I never imagined I’d have a half-sister to share, either.
I move to stand in front of y/n while Dean stands behind her. I grip her throat and bring my lips to hers. “Pretty sure he asked you a question, baby,” I whisper against her lips.
She hums and tries to press her lips to mine, but I pull my lips just out of her reach, teasing her. She gasps, and her eyes blow wide. “Sam!” She screams.
I jump back and turn around. A woman in a tattered white dress stands on the rail of the bridge. Dean moves into action and pushes y/n behind us, standing next to me. We only see her for a second before she steps off the railing down into the water.
We all run to the railing and look over. “Where did she go?” Y/n asks, looking down at the water below.
“I don’t know,” I respond, shaking my head softly.
Behind us, an engine comes to life, and we all turn to see the Impala with a running engine and the headlights on. “What the fuck?” Dean questions.
“Who’s driving the car?” I ask Dean. Dean pulls out the keys from his pocket, jingling them in his fingers. The engine revs and shoots toward us. “Go! Go!” I shout as well and start to run. But the car is going too fast, and it’s going to hit us. Dean hops over the railing, and I push y/n over it to Dean before jumping over myself. The car stops right in front of me and suddenly turns off.
I clutch y/n close to my chest for a moment and help her over the railing, thanking God that she’s okay. When I notice Dean isn’t already over the railing with us, I start to panic. “Dean?!” I call for him. I know he wasn’t hit, there’s no blood, and he went over the railing before us.
“DEAN!” Y/n shouts, looking over the railing.
I run over next to her and look down to see Dean crawling out of the water, mud coating his body and a pissed-off look on his face. “Hey, you alright?” I call down to him as he stands up.
Dean gives me the A-Okay sign with his hand. “I’m super,” he says sarcastically and makes his way back up to us on the bridge.
Dean puts down the hood of the Impala after checking it and leans on the hood. “Is your car alright?” Y/n asks Dean.
“Yeah,” Dean sighs. “Whatever she did to it, seems alright now,” Dean says, sitting on the hood. “Constance. That bitch.”
I sit next to y/n on the hood, her between me and Dean. “She doesn’t want us digging around, that’s for sure,” I point out, y/n scooting closer to me. “So where’s the job go from here, genius?” I ask Dean sarcastically.
“You smell like a toilet,” y/n points out when Dean notices she’s scooting away from him. Dean rolls his eyes and looks at us with a ‘really?’ expression. Me and y/n chuckle softly, and after a moment Dean looks down and chuckles too.
Y/n
Dean gets a hotel room and cleans up, thank God. I fall back on the motel bed with a sigh. I have no idea how we’re going to get rid of Constance. We don’t even know where she’s buried. There was nothing in the article about a funeral.
“You alright?” Sam asks, lying down on his side next to me.
“How are we going to get rid of her?” I ask him softly.
Sam takes a deep breath and brushes my hair behind my ear. “We’ll find her bones and burn them,” he tells me.
“We don’t even know where they are,” I remind him.
Sam kisses me. “You’re too stressed out,” he says against my lips.
I huff a laugh. “And you’re not?”
Sam runs his hand down my body to the waistband of my jeans. “Maybe we need to blow off some steam,” Sam says, leaning down to kiss my neck.
I moan softly and bite my bottom lip. “What about Dean?” I ask as Sam unbuttons my jeans.
Sam moves on top of me and smirks. “Give him a show. The man jumped off a bridge after all,” Sam quips as he pulls my jeans and underwear down my legs.
I sit up just enough to pull off my shirt and bra. “I like that idea,” I moan softly as Sam starts to kiss up my thighs. I fall back on the bed and squeeze my breasts as Sam’s tongue lands on my clit, licking slow circles. “Mm, Sammy,” I moan, pinching my nipples.
Sam slides two fingers into me as he starts to suck on my clit, nipping it softly with his teeth, melting pain with pleasure as the knot in my stomach starts to tighten. “Ah, ah,” I moan, my back arching against the mattress. “Just, just like that,” I pant as he curls in fingers inside of me and thrusts them in and out.
The bathroom door opens, and I watch Dean stop in his tracks at the sight of his brother between my legs, his face buried in my pussy. “Mm, hi, Dean,” I tease and let out a louder moan as Sam thrusts his fingers into me hard. “Sammy is going to make me cum like a good big brother,” I tease him further as he stalks toward me on the bed.
“Is that so?” Dean asks, dropping the towel from around his waist, and his long, hard cock drips with pre-cum. Dean kneels on the bed next to my head. “Are you going to be a good little sister and make me cum too?” Dean teases as he runs his fingers through my hair.
Sam’s tongue swirls around my clit again, and I moan. “Yes, Dean,” I open my mouth and stick out my tongue, inviting him inside.
Dean slides his cock across my tongue and inside of my throat with a hiss. “Fuck. Such a good little slut for your big brothers. Aren’t you y/n?”
I nod as best I can with Dean in my throat. “Mhmm,” I hum around his cock. I cup his balls with my hand and play with them how he likes.
“Fuck, yeah, you are,” Dean groans as he thrusts in and out of my throat. “Breath through your nose, y/n,” Dean reminds me when I start to gag around him. I follow his direction, and I can take more of him down my throat without gagging. “Good girl,” Dean praises.
I’m so wrapped up in pleasing Dean that I don’t notice Sam has stopped eating me out until I feel the tip of his cock push into my entrance. I moan, and my eyes roll back as Sam stretches me, filling me with his long and thick cock. “Ah, ah,” Dean corrects me, grabbing my throat and forcing me to look up at him above me. “Eyes on me when my cock is in your throat, princess,” Dean smirks.
I moan and do my best to keep my eyes on Dean as he watches Sam grip my hips and plow into me hard and fast. “How’s her pussy, little brother?” Dean groans.
“So,” Sam moans and thrusts hard into me again. “So fucking wet,” he groans and spreads my legs impossibly far apart, letting his cock reach deeper inside of me. I whimper around Dean’s cock in my throat as Sam repeatedly hits that spot inside of me harder and faster.
Dean pulls himself out of my throat, and my saliva and Dean’s pre-cum drip down my chin. “F-fuck,” I whimper, gripping the blanket on the bed. “I’m, I’m gonna cum,” I cry out in pain and pleasure.
Dean slaps my breast, making me gasp, and then massages it. “Not before you ask permission,” Dean teases.
My head falls back, and my back arches. “P-please,” I whimper, trying to keep the tether inside of me from snapping.
Dean grips my hair harshly and forces my head up to watch Sam fuck me. “Beg again and watch Sammy fuck that tight little cunt. And maybe we’ll let you,” Dean taunts.
I make eye contact with Sam. “Please, Sammy,” I whimper, watching his cock pump in and out of me, repeatedly hitting that spot inside of me. “Fuck, please,” I beg again.
Sam smirks and looks over at Dean. “I’m gonna bust Dean. Does she deserve to cum?” Sam checks with his brother before letting me find my release.
“Cum with her,” Dean groans, pumping his cock. Dean looks down at me. “Cum. Now,” he demands.
My legs shake, and my vision blurs as I cum the hardest I ever have before, even with them. I feel Dean shoot ropes of cum across my chest and barely feel Sam’s cum as a gush of wetness squirts from my entrance.
“What,” I pant, trying to catch my breath. “What was that?” I ask.
“You squirted,” Sam smiles and runs his fingers up my folds before bringing them to his mouth and sucking them with a satisfied hum. “Have you never done that before?” I shake my head.
Dean lifts me and moves me to the other bed, laying on top of it with me, and Sam follows, lying down on the other side of Dean, putting him in the middle. “You will again,” Dean promises me.
“Tonight?” I ask him. I could probably go again.
Dean shakes his head. “Not tonight. We have a long day tomorrow, and I need you both on your game.”
“I’m always on my game,” Sam chuckles and kisses Dean, then me.
“Shut up, both of you and go to bed.”

Your first night out of the hospital was the best you’ve felt in days. After Jake’s conversation with your parents, things between the two of you began to go back to the way it used to be. There was still the need to talk about what happened between you but for now, Jake’s biggest concern was your recovery.
Jake has always been incredibly protective of you. Even before you got together, it was something in his DNA that had him always on high alert whenever you were around. Now, those senses were heightened by one hundred upon your release from the hospital.
You were doing better, you even looked better but Jake was still afraid to let you out of his sights. Your left arm was still in a cast and your knee was still sprained. Your bruises were still very evident and extremely sensitive. Jake hated watching you wince in pain every time you did something as effortless as breathe.
Jake was carefully buckling your seatbelt when he heard your breath hitch. “Shit, sweetheart, did I hurt you?” His eyes skim over your body.
You grab hold of his hand to keep it steady on your waist, noticing his abnormally clammy skin. You hated that you were causing him to worry so much. “No, you didn’t. Just sensitive, is all.”
“I’m sorry, baby,” he frowns, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
“Nothing to be sorry for,” you whisper in reply. You can feel the last of your pain medication wearing off, signaling that you may need to take another dose when you get back to the apartment.
Jake only nods, despite the string of apologies that threaten to spill from his lips. He has apologized to you at least a thousand times since you woke up and each time you told him the same thing. But seeing you like this, in pain because of him, broke his heart.
You fell asleep before Jake even backed out of the hospital parking lot. The entire drive back to your apartment, he keeps a hand on your knee. A reminder that you came back to him.
Pulling into the front of your complex, Jake hurriedly puts the car in park before grabbing the wheelchair from the hospital in the back of his truck. He swiftly unfolds it and wheels it to the passenger side. Opening the door, he softly coaxes you awake.
You groan and flutter your eyes open to see Jake softly looking down at you.
The journey from the car to the apartment was full of arguments and shared looks of disapproval from the both of you. You were trying to convince Jake that you could wheel yourself, while Jake adamantly refused. After a minute of going back and forth, you finally let him have his way, knowing he wasn’t going to let up any time soon.
Upon entering the apartment you’re met with all your best friends gathered in the living room under a poorly executed banner that said, “Welcome Home, Ace!”
You giggle at the lopsided writing and oddly sized lettering, making the banner look like it was written by a seven year old. You reckon that was done by Mickey due to the way he sheepishly stares down at his feet when Jake comments on the artistry.
Natasha gathers you in her arms in an instant barely giving Jake enough time to close the front door. “It’s so good to have you back here.”
“It’s so good to be back,” you sigh into her shoulder.
She lets you go in favor of helping Jake bring your bags from your hospital stay into your room.
Bob is the next one to greet you with tears in his eyes.
You squeeze his hand with a soft smile. “Oh, Bobby.”
“Sorry, I just missed you.” Bob blushes at his confession.
“Missed you too,” you grin and playfully pinch his cheek.
“Thank goodness you’re back. I haven’t watched any new episodes of The Mandalorian yet because I was waiting for you to come home.” Mickey smiles as he comes to greet you.
“Fanboy, you are just the sweetest.”
He nods proudly at your words.
“No he is not. I came over here last weekend to help with some cleaning and I saw him start season three!” Reuben interjects with a playful slap to Mickey’s back.
“Dude!”
You tsk in faux disappointment. “And I thought we were friends, Mick.”
Reuben laughs and brings you in for a hug, whispering in your ear that he’ll watch it with you instead—to which Mickey takes full offense.
Just as Javy goes in for a hug of his own, Jake comes back into the room and stands behind you.
“Careful, Javy,” he says pointedly. “Watch her ribs.”
Javy snorts. “Geez, sorry dad.”
You laugh at the two of them and roll your eyes.
Bradley is the last to approach you and you open your good arm in a warm welcome. “Hey, Chicken.”
“You’re just saying that because I can’t get you back right now!” He groans into your shoulder.
You smile and shrug innocently. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Yeah, whatever,” he shakes his head.
You feel Jake place a hand on your shoulder and you look up at him with a grateful smile.
It really did feel good to be home.

The rest of the night was spent with an incredible home cooked meal by Natasha and joyous laughter as you enjoyed some time with the people you loved most.
You moved from the wheelchair to the couch, settling in beside Jake as best you can as he used his own legs to prop up your sprained knee.
He checked up on you every once in a while. Making sure you were comfortable and drinking water. When the laughter got a little too hard to stop, it made your ribs ache and he noticed right away whenever you went to clutch at your side.
Jake would scold the group for making you laugh too hard which resulted in another round of endless teasing from them.
As the night finally wound down, the boys began to clean up the kitchen area while Natasha brought you to your room to help you redress your wounds and get ready for bed.
Nat and you sat on your bed in comfortable silence as she brushed your hair gently. Your eyelids feel heavy at her soft gestures and you almost find yourself slipping into sleep until she breaks the silence.
“Why didn’t you come talk to me?” She questions, hurt evident in her words. “Why didn’t you just talk to me instead of going to that party?”
You swallow harshly, feeling guilty for making all your friends worry about you. At the time, you weren’t in your right mind. With everything going on you didn’t want to become another burden for them to bear. Like your parents had told you so many times before, you didn’t want to become an inconvenience. Though, you knew that was hardly an excuse for your rash behavior.
“I’m sorry,” you tell her softly, turning to look at her. “I know I should’ve come to talk to you about everything instead of dealing with it on my own. I shouldn’t have done what I did. I—“ You pause to inhale deeply, feeling a sharp pain in your chest from the bruises on your ribs.
Nat smooths your hair back with a sad smile, shushing you gently. “It’s okay, don’t push yourself too hard.”
“It’s not okay if my actions ended up hurting everyone. Especially…” You stop once more to catch a break.
“Especially Jake?” She finishes for you. There’s no malice or judgment in her tone, just pure observation and understanding.
You nod. “Especially him. If I could I would take it all back in a heartbeat. I would’ve come to you for advice instead of dropping it on you through a text message. I would’ve talked to him instead of running away.”
Nat hums in understanding. She was one of the few people who really understood you. She may have been a little hurt by your decisions, but she knows none of it was done with ill intentions.
Seeing you beat yourself up like this hurts her, so she tries her best to soothe your self blame and guilt. “But he’s here now, Ace. You are so incredibly lucky that he loves you the way he does. I mean, sure, you guys fought and it led to something terrible. But he came back, he’s here and it doesn’t look like he’s leaving any time soon.” Grabbing your hand, she pulls you into another embrace. “And neither am I.”
“I love you, Nattie.”
“I love you too, Ace.”
The door opening brings the two of you apart and you’re met with Jake’s teasing smile.
“Making moves on my girl, Natasha? I’m telling Javy,” Jake crossed his arms over his chest.
Nat rolls her eyes, getting up from the bed. “Oh please, you and Javy are practically married,” she retorts, making you huff out a breath of laughter.
With one last squeeze of your hand she gives you and Jake a soft goodnight before exiting the room.
Seeing Jake freshly showered and changed into his pajamas as he stood into your room, almost brought tears to your eyes. The last time you remember him being in your room was the night you fought. Seeing him like this made your heart skip a beat. Nat was right, you were so incredibly lucky to be loved by Jake Seresin.
He walks over to you with a soft smile and gently scoops you up in his arms bridal style, eliciting a soft chuckle from you. “What are you doing?”
Jake nudges the tip of his nose with yours as he continues to move. “Putting you to bed, sweetheart. The doctor said you need to rest up and it is currently 11pm which is definitely past your bedtime.”
You scoff playfully. “Bedtime? Bedtime is for the weak!”
“Which is what you will be if you don’t get some sleep, sweetheart,” he tells you earnestly as he sets you down and begins positioning your pillows just the way you liked it in the hospital.
With your left arm laying gently on your abdomen and your knee resting on another pillow, you bury yourself deeper into the sheets with a content sigh. “God, I missed this bed.”
Jake smiles at you and lays a soft kiss to your forehead. “Clearly. Now sleep, you’ve had a long day.”
Your smile falls as you watch him take a step away from you. “Where are you going?”
“To set up my spot right here.” He taps the linoleum floor with his sock clad feet.
“The floor?” You look down at his feet and back up to him with a look of distaste. “Why are you staying on the floor? There’s plenty of room up here next to me.” You pat the spot next to you.
“I just… I don’t wanna hurt you, Ace,” he confesses.
“Jake, you could never hurt me.”
He wants to believe you. Maybe before everything he would’ve. Now he knew he was capable of doing such a thing and he promised you and himself that he would do everything in his power to never hurt you again.
“I can if I move the wrong way in my sleep. Or if you move and hurt yourself because I’m here. I won’t risk it.” He shakes his head adamantly.
“Jake—“
“Please, baby.” He cups your face in his hands gently. “Give me some peace of mind and let me sleep on the floor. Just so I know you’re safe and away from harm up there.”
“I’m always safe with you,” you sigh and pout. But you comply with consideration of, as Jake said, his “peace of mind.”
As he settles onto his incredibly uncomfortable looking cot on the floor, your own worries start to creep in. “You’ll be here when I wake up, right?”
Jake looks up at you from where he sits on the floor and gives you a reassuring smile. “I promised I’m never leaving you again, didn’t I?”
You nod.
“Then yes, I’ll be here tomorrow and every morning after that.”
Feeling more at ease, you lay back down completely onto your mountain of pillows and wait until Jake turns off the light.
“Goodnight, sweetheart. I love you,” he tells you in the darkness.
Your heart skips a beat just like it does every single time he tells you. “I love you too, Jake.”
Despite Jake being right there next to you, you have never felt so alone. His soft puffs of breath and the occasional car passing by are the only things you could hear. While Jake’s breathing usually gave you a sense of comfort, knowing he was so close yet so far away from you made it hard for you to sleep. Even with him telling you he wasn’t going to leave, there was still the nagging voice in the back of your mind, scaring you with the image of waking up to him being gone.
“Jake?”
You hear him shift and then you receive a reply. “You okay, baby? Do you need something? Are you hurting?”
“No, no I’m okay. I just… Never mind, it's stupid.”
“Nothing you could say can be stupid.” You can hear the smile in his words, but you still feel stupid anyway. “What do you need?”
“Can you hold my hand, please?” You almost feel pathetic saying it out loud.
“Of course,” he breathes. Jake immediately shifts into a sitting position and reaches for your hand that was resting on the edge of the bed. He intertwined his fingers with yours and pressed a kiss against your knuckles. “Better?”
“Much.”
“Good. Now will you get to sleep?”
“I will, promise.”
True to your word, you do. Jake waits until your breaths even out into a familiar pattern of sleep. Even as you drift off into what he hopes is a restful slumber, your grip on his hand stays strong. His neck hurts and his arm is starting to feel like pins and needles, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. As long as you were comfortable, that’s all that mattered.
Feeling your touch and hearing you breathe wasn’t nearly enough to ease his racing thoughts. He was afraid that if he closed his eyes, you would disappear. Deep down, Jake knew it was irrational—that people didn’t just disappear in thin air. But he had gotten too close to losing you and he never wanted to feel that type of fear ever again.
It hit him then that you were his light in the darkness. His daylight in the cloudiest of storms. His person and the other half of his heart. The one thing he absolutely cannot live without. He knew he loved you more than anything and being faced with the possibility of not being able to tell you again put so many things into perspective for him.
The two of you were young, he knew that. Still in your early twenties and your whole life ahead of you. But he also knew that he never wanted to risk losing you again. You were it for him. He couldn’t imagine himself loving anyone else.
Three years ago, Jake would’ve laughed at the idea of him settling down and finding one girl instead of messing around and being a bachelor for life. Three years ago he couldn’t imagine being in love. Now, he couldn’t imagine life without you.
Bringing your hand to his lips, he gives you another kiss. He keeps your hand against his lips and swears on everything he is, that he is going to marry you someday.
The sureness of his own confession should have scared him, but it didn’t. For once, Jake Seresin had never been so sure of anything in his life.

Recovery is a bitch. Your body felt like it had gotten run over at least a hundred times. The bruises had gone from their dark purplish hue to a lighter green and yellow color. Your flesh was still tender to the touch, especially near your ribs but it was definitely better than the first day you were released from the hospital. The most annoying of it all, was the constant fatigue and visits to the physical therapist’s office. Stubborn as always, you swore you didn’t need it. Most times, you found the exercise ridiculous. You thought it was a waste of your time. However, Jake made sure you didn’t miss a single appointment.
You spent most of your time in the apartment with Nat, Mickey, and Bob. Bradley, Reuben, and Javy dropped by when they could as well which you were extremely grateful for.
But Jake was the only thing making your recovery bearable. Not once, had he left your side since the hospital. With the final days of exams winding down, Jake was able to give his full and undivided attention to you.
Yet the constant company and loving wasn’t enough to stop yourself from stressing and worrying about where you stood with Jake. Things may have felt normal, but you were afraid that things would break at any moment.
So you kept quiet and hoped he wouldn’t notice that you were slowly losing it on the inside. You should’ve known you couldn’t keep anything from Jake. He could always read you better than anyone else.
The two of you had fallen asleep on the couch after a long day of follow up doctors appointments.
Jake had his arms wrapped snugly around your waist and had you tucked delicately into his side. It took a few days to finally get him to agree to hold you again and now that he was feeling better about it, you never wanted him to stop.
But your throat was feeling dry and you desperately needed a glass of water. So you ever so carefully unravel his strong arms from around you as not to disturb him.
He needed rest just as much as you did. You hate that he hasn’t been taking care of himself as well because of his constant concern for you. It was sweet, but you didn’t need him constantly at your beck and call.
You softly lay his arms on his abdomen and wiggle out from beside him as best you can. You quietly pad over to the kitchen and pull a glass from the cabinet to grab yourself some water.
You barely get to opening the fridge when you hear Jake from behind you.
“Ace! What’re you doing up? Let me get that for you. Sit down,” he groggily exclaims.
You turn to look at him over your shoulder and giggle at his disheveled hair and light pink cheeks.  “It’s okay, Jake. Lay back down. I’m just getting water.”
“No, no, you’re not supposed to be overexerting yourself. Get back here and let me do it.” He’s fumbling over his feet just to get to you.
You extend your one good arm across the  fridge and block what you can with your body. “I’m fine,” you insist. “Besides, I’m hardly lifting a finger.”
Jake rolls your eyes at your stubbornness. “Yeah, you’re lifting a whole arm. Sit down.”
You narrow your gaze at him. “No.”
“Ace,” he scolds you like a father would his child.
“Jake,” you mimic.
“Ace, so help me God, I will move you myself if I have to.”
“You wouldn’t.” You challenge him, despite knowing very well that he would.
“Alright, you asked for it.” Jake walks over and stops right in front of you with bent knees. Hyper aware of your bad knee, he gently cradles your legs before using his other arm to go around your waist. Not a fan of the wheelchair, Jake had gotten used to carrying you around the house this way.
You could easily walk yourself especially with how well physical therapy has been going but Jake insisted that you save your strength.
“Jake!”
He easily brings you to the stool at the kitchen island with a look of disapproval. “You could have woken me up, you know.”
“For someone that is so obsessed with getting good rest, you seem to be doing the exact opposite,” you point out.
“Okay, snippy, watch the tone.” Jake rests his hands on his hips. “What’s going on, Ace?” He moves to slot himself between your parted legs.
You avoid his intense gaze, finding a loose thread on your shirt to pay attention to instead. You didn’t want to tell him you were struggling—with your recovery, your mental health—with anything.
Jake was so great and so incredibly supportive of everything but you needed to do some things on your own. You want the reassurance that you could still be independent. The accident took that freedom away from you.
He gently cups your face in his hands, bringing you back to him. “Talk to me, Ace. I can’t help you if I don’t know what’s wrong.”
You shake yourself out of his grip, angling your back towards him. You knew Jake would never judge you, yet you still felt ashamed for being so weak. “Nothing’s wrong, Jake.”
“Bullshit. That’s bullshit and you know it.” He sighs and opens his hands towards you palms up. A silent invitation to let him hold you.
Jake raises his brows, waiting for you to reciprocate. You look up at him and dramatically clasp your hands into his, which he grips in a silent thank you.
“You haven’t been yourself lately, baby. And it’s not just because you’re recovering. There’s something else going on in that head of yours.”
Your heart skips a beat. Jake has always been able to read you better than anyone else.
“So, what’s going on? What can I do to make it better?” He practically begs.
Your sweet boy, always wanting to make things better for you. Squeezing his hands tighter, you release a shaky breath. “I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean,” you pause as you try to explain to him what you’ve been feeling. “Before I tell you, I need you to know that none of this is your fault. You hear me?”
“Ace—“ He starts with worry flooding his features.
“Jake.” The look on your face quiets him down.
Running a hand through his already disheveled hair he reluctantly complies. “Yeah, okay.”
You close your eyes. You couldn’t look at him as you explained yourself. You wouldn’t be able to control the tears if you looked at him. “I’m lost, Jake. I’m so fucking lost and I don’t know how to find myself again. After coming back from the accident, I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
Jake’s expression morphed from worried to pained in an instant.
“I’m drowning in this vast sea of nothingness all the time and I don’t know what to do to fix it. I don’t know how to fix things.” Your tears are free flowing as you bear your soul to him.
His heart fractures in two to hear what you’re going through. “What’s there to fix, baby?”
“Everything, Jake. Me, my grades, our relationship, my parents, all of it. Nothing is the way it should be. I’m not the way I should be. And I know you told me to focus on my recovery. I’m trying. But it all just feels wrong.” You don’t know how else to describe the hollowness in your chest to him without
Taking his hands from your grip, he plants them firmly on your hips as he slides you further to the edge of the stool so you could wrap your legs around his waist. Jake shakes his head and kisses you on the nose. “I know you’re trying and I am so proud of you. Don’t worry about your parents and your grades right now. We’ll deal with it when we get there.”
“We?” You choke out meekly.
He continues with a lovesick smile. “Yes, we. As for us, there’s nothing to be fixed between us. I know we never talked about it in detail, but baby, I forgave you the second I walked out that door.”
He kisses away your tears as they continue to flow down your cheeks. “I just wish I was there for you sooner. I wish I could fix this for you. If I could, I would carry the weight of it all on my shoulders. But Ace, if lost is what you are, then I will find your missing pieces. I will be by your side, helping you figure out what you lost.”
The heavy pressure on your chest gives way. No one has ever cared for you the way Jake does. No words could describe just how much you loved him. If there was any other way you could express your gratitude for the boy, you would.
In that moment, words fail you, and you resort to showing him how much you love him instead.
You lean up to brush your lips against his, softly at first. The heat in your cheeks heightens at his calloused fingertips sneaking under your shirt and digging into the skin of your hips.
Pulling you closer against him than you thought was possible, he relaxes into your touch as you let your own hands wander to his sun kissed hair.
Jake doesn’t hesitate to let his lips loosen against yours as he kisses you back fervently. Your lips glide against one another, performing motions the two of you knew by heart. Chest to chest, hip to hip, lips against lips, he continues to kiss you like a man desperate for air.
“Ace,” he pulls away breathlessly. “Let me take care of you, please?”
Opening your eyes to be met with the most beautiful hues of green, you nod against him.
With your permission, he takes you upstairs to show you just how much you mean to him.
_________________
Intimacy isn’t something you and Jake are unfamiliar with. He has seen you bare and you have seen him in the same state. Physical intimacy, however, was a little more on the reserved side. Earlier on in your relationship Jake had talked to you about boundaries and what you were and weren’t ready for. Still respecting your wishes, no matter how desperately he wanted you, he promised he’d wait until you were ready.
So no, you hadn’t slept together just yet, but the two of you were more than comfortable with being vulnerable with one another.
Sitting in the warm water, you sigh as Jake softly rubs his fingers through your wet hair. The smell of lavender fills the air as the two of you sit together in the bathtub.
The feel of his chest is slippery against your back from the bath soap you had pumped into the tub. Being engulfed in Jake’s scent and his warmth, soothed your aching body.
Your left arm was wrapped securely in a large trash bag as you rested it against the rim of the tub. It wasn’t the most flattering accessory, but it didn’t make the moment any less romantic.
He was gentle as he carefully assessed your body, lathering you with soap. Jake was careful of your injuries, letting his lips show each of them some love. To speed up the healing process, he had said.
You sat contentedly in his arms, feeling closer to him than you have in weeks. You intertwine your free hand with his that rests atop your abdomen, leaning back on his chest and settling into his shoulder.
“You alright, baby?” Jake asks. He’s afraid that your pain medication was beginning to wear off due to your tight grip on his hand.
Bringing your lips to the hinge of his jaw, you breathe, “I’m alright.”
Jake focuses on your steady breaths as the two of you stay in each other’s embrace. He was, quite literally, holding his heart in his hands. You were his entire world, the center of his universe. Everything revolved around you, even if you didn’t know it.
“Thank you for telling me about how you’re feeling,” he says softly into your ear. “I’m sorry you felt like you had to carry all of that on your own.”
You hum in response. “You’ve just done so much for me already, I felt like I had to start doing some things for myself.”
“It’s okay if you’re not ready, Ace. But just know you don’t have to go through it alone. Asking for help doesn’t make you weak. You are so strong—one of the strongest people I know. And if anyone can get through this, it’s you,” he confesses.
“You think so?” You can’t help the hope brewing in your chest and the smile that tugs on your lips.
“I know so. And all of us will be there for you every step of the way. I will be here for you, always. I love you.”
You look up, taking in the glow of his smile.  “I love you too.”
Jake’s love for you was brighter than the sun—golden like the daylight seeping through your bathroom window.
You knew things wouldn’t get better overnight. You knew you still had a long way to go before you were completely healed.
He was the light guiding you through the darkness, just like you do for him. Jake’s warmth would protect you from the cold and bitter storms brewing in the confines of your mind that threatened to drag you down.

One Long Weekend: - Clyde/YN One-Shot Series CH 06
"We've already slept together. I figured it might be nice to enjoy the honeymoon phase." "You probably can't tell but I'm swooning."

SATURDAY, 2:00PM
When Clyde woke up, his arm was trapped. He tried to pull it from underneath y/n's hold but she had a death lock on his right arm as he spooned her from behind. He could feel how flushed his face was just realizing how close they were. He didn't have time to be embarrassed though because she turned over to face him, eyes still closed and burying herself into his chest. His arm was free now but he decided to put it around her body instead of use it for himself.
She was still very much asleep as he pulled her tighter to his chest, enjoying the feeling of her holding onto him. He closed his eyes, trying to will himself back to sleep but the loud banging at the door startled the both of them to jump out of the bed. Y/n reached over and grabbed Clyde's aid and handed it to him, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.
"Remind me to kick Johnny in the back of his knee later." She groaned rolling out of the bed to find her jeans. Clyde ran a hand through his hair and unlocked the door.
"Dude! Why did you lock the...no fucking way!" Johnny put his hand up for a high five and Clyde shook his head at him.
"Is there a reason you're busting the door down so early?" Clyde rubbed his eyes as Johnny pushed past him and gave y/n a cute wave.
"Dude it's 2PM. We were supposed to meet Dave at the shop to get the bass restrung for tonight. Didn't mean to break up your little love fest." Johnny teased.
"Give us a minute and we'll meet you at the van." Clyde held the door open for Johnny who seemed stunned to be getting kicked out. He put his hands up in defeat. Y/n still had Clyde's shirt on as she pulled her hair up in a messy knot atop her head.
"Good morning...or afternoon I guess." Clyde smirked.
"It was. How did you sleep?" Y/n asked Clyde reaching into her bag to find a black tank she normally wore under her jacket.
"Surprisingly well. How about you?" Clyde moved towards the small refrigerator and grabbed a small bottle of orange juice which he smelled before putting to his lips.
"Honestly, it was really nice. It was good to be able to sleep not listening to my roommate snoring or rain machine for a change." Y/n turned away from Clyde and pulled the shirt over her head to pull on her tank. Clyde tried not to choke on his juice catching a glimpse of her naked back.
"So I can drop them off first and then take you home. If we take them, they'll only be more annoying and I refuse to give them that satisfaction." Clyde laid out the plan offering his juice to y/n now that she was dressed.
"That's fine. I think my roommate shouldn't have a problem with me coming home now." Y/n followed Clyde out of his apartment watching as he didn't even bother locking the door. The guys were already hanging around the van waiting on them.
"You better had fixed my steering wheel you fuckers." Clyde pointed at Johnny with his keys dangling in his hand. Everyone loaded up in the van and Clyde waited for y/n to put on a seatbelt which he didn't bother doing when they originally got into the van.
"Can you idiots maintain until I get back? I want to drop her off. I won't be too long." Clyde explained instantly receiving a bunch of teasing. Y/n shook her head and looked at Clyde who was blushing.
"Do you not hang out with women at all or something? Your friends seem to think you're inept at being charming." Y/n joked as Clyde pulled away from the music shop.
"The majority of the women who come back to our place are just band hopping. It's out of the ordinary that anyone is there with me exclusively." Clyde explained.
"Oh so you think I was there for you exclusively? Someone thinks awfully high of themselves." Y/n teased pointing at the next street over for him to turn.
"My mistake. Was it because you wanted to take a ride in my sweet van? Maybe it was the subpar burger and fries?" Clyde knew that Y/n enjoyed his company. She had told him so herself but the thought did linger in the back of his mind that maybe she was just hanging out because it was convenient.
"This is me up here." Y/n pulled him from his thoughts to pull into an apartment complex. He looked around for an open space and parked.
"So...any plans this weekend?" He asked with a smile. Y/n laughed taking her seatbelt off and turning her body towards him.
"Why? You wanna hang out with me again already? I haven't even left the van yet." Y/n teased Clyde but he shook his head.
"We've already slept together.I figured it might be nice to enjoy the honeymoon phase." Clyde smiled a toothy grin making Y/n laugh.
"You probably can't tell but I'm swooning." Clyde wanted her to stay. He wanted more time with her. He wanted her to want to stay. He just didn't know how to go about asking without sounding like he had literally fallen in love over night. I mean he hadn't..he just really really wanted to be in her presence.
"I don't really have any plans but I probably need to make sure my roommate wasn't murdered by her lady of the night." Y/n opened the door and Clyde wasn't sure what to say.
"Y/N!" They both jumped hearing someone scream her name.
"What the hell?" Clyde tried to look at where the screaming was coming from.
"Oh that's my roommate." Y/n hopped out of the car and shut the door as she looked up to the balcony three floors up.
"Hey! I was just coming up to check on you." Y/n said seeing her roommate in her familiar robe, very flushed.
"Yeah about that. I'm going to need you to do me a HUGE solid." Clyde had gotten out of the car and stood next to her.
"Who's that? I thought you just got a really weird Uber ride." Her roommate pointed to him.
"I'm Clyde..." He waved up at her.
"Hi Clyde, thank you for not murdering my roommate." Y/n shook her head and interrupted her.
"What is going on? Why are you screaming for me from the balcony?" Y/n asked watching her roommate glance over her shoulder.
"Listen I love you, you know this but this girl is my dream girl and she's agreed to stay for the long weekend. She knows I have a roommate but I told her you were on vacation on the East coast." Y/n was so confused as to why she would say the East coast. She's never even been to the East coast.
"Well news flash, I don't know anyone on the East coast and you know I can't stay with my dad unless he's in bad condition so what do you want me to do exactly?" Y/n threw her arms in the air annoyed.
"Clyde's a good guy, aren't you? Can you stay with Clyde for the rest of the weekend?" Y/n felt heat on her face from the imposition her roommate just threw on someone she has literally known for 24 hours.
"Dude no! You cant just-"
"I mean she's more than- you're more than welcome to crash at my apartment. I don't mind at all." Clyde cut y/n off and she stared at him. He was far too sweet for his own good.
"See Clyde doesn't mind. Clyde wants you to stay. Please just do this for me. I will owe you one. PLEASE!" Y/n chewed on her lip looking from her roommate towards Clyde.
"Are you sure? I mean you don't have to say yes to her just because she's being a complete ass." Y/n lowered her voice and Clyde smiled.
"I told you, honeymoon phase. It's cool, I promise." He nudged her arm and Y/n looked back up.
"You're the worst, you know that?" Y/n gave her roommate the middle finger. Her roommate blew kisses to her thanking her and Clyde as quietly as possible.
"Here, I threw a few things in the bag just in case. Some clothes phone charger, underwear, deodorant-" She tossed the bag down at the two of them and Clyde caught it as a few of the contents started to spill out, a box of condoms hit his foot.
"Oh wow." Clyde reached for them to put them back in the bag.
"DUDE! What the fuck!?" Y/n yelled but her roommate had already run back into the apartment. Y/n covered her face shaking her head. Clyde kept his thoughts to himself and smirked as they walked back to the van together. Clyde had never been so happy for two lesbians spending a long weekend together. Now all he had to do was not screw things up in the next few days.

byler 22 for the touch prompts??
22 for touch prompts: falling asleep on the other's shoulder (+ bonus mini soundtrack that i listened to on repeat while writing this)
“Remind me again,” Mike says, as Will climbs into the passenger side of the car, “why we have to go to this thing today?”
Will gives him a look. Or his best attempt at a look anyway. He’s ninety percent sure they fall too flat to ever be effective, or Mike would have stopped saying stupid shit years ago. “This thing?” He struggles with the seatbelt for a moment before it finally clicks into place. “You mean your sister’s wedding? To my brother?”
Mike pulls a face. “If you want to get into the semantics,” he mumbles, adjusting the rearview mirror, and Will laughs.
“You’re ridiculous. It’s their wedding, Mike.”
“Rude to get married on a Saturday night,” Mike says, as if every wedding in the history of the world ever hasn’t taken place on a Saturday night. “Maybe some of us had things to do.”
“Yeah? What did you have going on?” Will asks, smoothing down the lapel of his suit. This jacket is a lint magnet like nothing he’s ever seen before, and he plucks a little piece of it away. “Hot date?”
Mike wiggles his eyebrows, and Will realizes immediately that this was the wrong thing to say. “Yeah,” Mike chirps, looking entirely too pleased with himself. “You.”
Despite himself, Will feels his cheeks turn red. It’s stupid, because he quite literally handed Mike the opportunity to say this on a silver platter, and it’s more dumb than any sort of flirtatious, except the unfortunate truth of dating Mike Wheeler is that he doesn’t even have to try and actually flirt to get Will blushing like a teenage girl. “I had that coming,” he admits, and Mike grins even harder than before. “And we didn’t have a date tonight.”
“We did! We were going to–”
“We can order pizza and watch TV when we get back, Mike,” Will chides, and, when Mike’s lower lip turns downward in something reminiscent of a pout, “this is Nancy’s wedding.”
“I was never Nancy’s favorite sibling,” Mike says noncommittally, releasing the parking brake, “she won’t even notice if I’m not there,” which one, is not true because Mike makes up about a third of Nancy’s bridal party so she will most definitely notice if he goes AWOL. And second, this is also not true because Will knows that Holly is currently in the throes of teenage angst, and Mike is still working on the angst but he’s moved on from the teenager part, at least, which is definitely earning him some points in Nancy’s book. So at worst, he’s tied with Holly. At least for the next couple of years.
And Will knows he’s not being serious anyway. For all of the fuss he’s kicking up, he knows Mike is happy for them. Will checks the backseat to make sure he put the presents in the car earlier that afternoon, and says, laughing, “Cold feet? It’s not even your wedding, Mike.”
“I know,” Mike moans, falling forward until his forehead hits the top of the steering wheel. “And it’s exciting! I’m happy for them! And your brother too, and I know your mom and Hop are so pumped, and– it’s just that I’m not so pumped about spending the evening with my family.”
Will suddenly feels very, very stupid. Jesus, he hadn’t even thought about that– about Mike’s parents being there, and his nana, the one that his mom had totally guilted Nancy into inviting because she might not live long enough to see Mike and Holly get married, Nancy, just let her have this. Which was kind of a depressing enough thought on its own, Will thinks, even without the entire conversation that had followed, the one he’d overheard Mike have on the phone in the living room, loud and frustrated before he’d slammed the phone down on the receiver hard enough for Will to hear it from their bedroom.
“I’m sorry,” he breathes out, then rests a hand on Mike’s shoulder. “Don’t listen to them, okay, Mike? Just– hang out with us instead. I know Dustin’s been dying to break out his new dance moves.”
Mike cracks a tentative smile, then turns his face slightly so that one side of it is illuminated by the glow of the street lamps outside. “I’m scared he’s going to get driven away in a stretcher,” Mike admits, and Will grins.
“Yeah, probably. It’ll be a good distraction, at least. I’ll tell him to take one for the team.”
Mike nods once, but he doesn’t look convinced. “Yeah. Thanks.”
Will hesitates, then drops his hand to Mike’s and slots their fingers together. “Hey,” he says quietly. “Look at me.”
Mike looks up the rest of the way. He looks incredible tonight, which is something Will’s been thinking ever since they’d started getting ready an hour ago, and at least half of the reason it took him so long was because he’d been totally distracted the whole time. Maybe Will is just biased, which is a little true, sure, but Mike should definitely wear suits more– and he’s officially taking it upon himself to make sure that Mike wears suits more– because suddenly he’s tempted to take Mike up on his offer of becoming a runaway best man and going back inside and collapsing on the couch and kissing him stupid into the early hours of the morning.
“What?” Mike is saying, eyebrows twisting a little self-consciously. “You’re looking at me funny.”
“You just look really nice,” Will says simply, and then, because that comes nowhere close to how good Mike looks in a tie, “no, actually, you look– wow.”
Mike’s lips twitch, but he looks a little pleased. “Wow? Really?”
“You’ve rendered me speechless,” Will nods rapidly, and Mike’s shy smile breaks into something more genuine. “You– look at you, I mean– I can’t even– wow.”
“Will,” Mike says, drawing out the single syllable until it feels big enough to fill up the whole car. “Okay, I look nice! You can stop playing it up now.”
His cheeks are turning red, slowly, visible even in the dim lighting of the street lamps through the windows, because it’s early fall and it’s started to get dark ridiculously early in the day. It feels like a victory, getting Mike flustered, even after a year of dating. Will smiles to himself.
“I’m not,” Will says, then leans in across the console. “Come here. I’ll prove it.”
“You’ll–” Mike gets out, eyes going wide in surprise, “–has anyone ever told you that you’re–”
Whatever it was that people may or may not have told Will is apparently a mystery that will die with the universe, because Will never finds out. He kisses Mike with one hand still holding his, threads a hand through his hair and cups his jaw. Soft. Slow. Unhurried, even though they should have left ten minutes ago and they’re going to be cutting it real close– Will can’t be bothered to rush.
Mike hums low in the back of his throat, pleased, and shifts closer. He’s pushing himself up over the console, a hand ghosting the side of Will’s neck, when–
Beeeeep.
“What–” Will jerks backwards, startled, and Mike immediately lets go of his hand. “Did you just–”
Mike rubs his elbow and moves further away from the wheel. “I got a little distracted,” he laughs, but the tension has ebbed from his shoulders a little and his eyes are creasing up at the corners, so Will considers this a mission success, thank you. “We should probably go?”
“Good idea,” Will says, then reaches over to smooth out a stray tuft of Mike’s hair that was– he thinks, a little proud of himself– definitely not out of place before. “And hey,” he adds, before Mike can take the car out of park. “Seriously. Ignore your parents. It’s not their wedding, okay, it’s Nancy’s. And Jonathan’s. And they both want us there. Together.”
Mike’s lips press together into a thin, determined line. “You’re right,” he nods, “I know, it’s just–”
“I know,” Will echoes, and Mike shoots him a grateful smile. “Now let’s go, or we really will miss the ceremony.”
—-
They don’t miss the ceremony, which is good, because having both the best man and the– whatever Mike was– would probably not be a good look for anyone involved.
“I can’t believe you cried,” Dustin says, after the toasts are done and the speeches are given and everyone’s been supplied with enough champagne to go a little loose and maybe a little tear-happy.
Mike scowls across the table at him. “I didn’t cry,” he insists, which is kind of pointless because Will had been watching him the whole time he’d been standing up there, shuffling his feet awkwardly in place at his designated spot in between Holly and Robin Buckley, and he’d definitely cried. Just a little, but he had.
“You did,” El chimes in primly, plucking at her shrimp cocktail. “I saw.”
“Thanks, El,” Mike mutters, sinking back in his chair a little and crossing his arms. “It’s– the vows were very emotional, okay, you’d have to be made of total stone to not tear up!”
“I didn’t cry,” Lucas announces, which is a fucking lie, by the way. Will saw him dabbing at his eyes in the bathroom on the way here.
“I think it’s sweet,” he says, instead of throwing Lucas to the dogs like he maybe should have. He flashes Mike a grin, leans over in his chair to bridge the space between them and squeezes his hand, once. “They were very sappy vows, to be fair.”
Mike blinks up at him from where he’s slumped down to somewhere around shoulder height. “You didn’t cry.”
“Oh, I did,” Will assures him. “I just cried in the back with Jonathan while he was getting ready.”
“Really?” Mike perks right up. “You did?”
“Yes,” Will laughs, “and I can’t believe you’re happy about it,” and then Mike grins so wide that Will can’t help but lean in the rest of the way and press a quick kiss to Mike’s cheek.
“You two are disgusting,” Lucas says, and he’s maybe one strike away from Will speaking up about the bathroom incident after all.
“Maybe so,” Mike relents, looking properly cheered up now. “What about it?”
Mike’s grip on Will’s hand never falters. Will feels himself turn warmer with every slow pass of Mike’s thumb over his knuckles, even with their hands tucked under the tablecloth and out of view. And it isn’t from the champagne. He’s had just the one glass with dinner, which is nothing, so it must be something else that’s making him feel like this. Something–
“You okay?” Mike murmurs as his thumb pauses, briefly, on the back of Will’s hand. “You got kind of quiet out of nowhere,” and yeah, there it is.
“I meant it,” Will says, lowering his voice so their friends can’t hear them from across the table. “What I said in the car, I mean. You look beautiful.”
It’s a little amusing just how fast Mike can turn such a violent shade of red. “You can’t just say that,” he splutters. “Give a guy some warning, Jesus, Will–”
“Mm, no,” Will decides smugly, watching the red creep down the collar of Mike’s carefully starched dress shirt. Then, because the soft lighting of the venue and the way Mike’s hair has started to fall free around his face is doing something funny to his chest and stomach, Will nods to the dance floor and says, “You wanna?”
Mike hesitates, looking over his shoulder. “Dance?”
Will shrugs, then looks over to where Jonathan and Nancy are trying– and failing, quite hilariously and miserably– at a dance of their own. “I mean, it’s a wedding, and people dance at weddings. Not that either of us are good at it, but it might be fun to try?”
Mike chews nervously at his lower lip and nudges Will’s foot with his own. “I don’t know,” he admits. “My mom was eyeing me earlier and I was totally avoiding her by hiding out over here but I feel like the dance floor is fair game for a–” he waves his hands around, “pseudo-confrontation. Nancy’s only three years older than you, blah, blah. When are you going to settle down, blah, blah. Even though I’m here with my boyfriend, which apparently doesn’t count for shit, and–” Mike sighs dejectedly. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to bring the mood down, it’s just– I was having such a good day, too.”
Will squeezes Mike’s leg, just above the knee. “You were having a good day? Really? Even though your hot date got canceled?”
“Well,” Mike rolls his eyes. “My sister got married, and now my hot date is all dressed up and sweet-talking me, so I think this is even better than pizza on the couch.” He pauses, contemplating. “Actually, scratch that. It’s not. But it’s a close second,” Mike adds, then grins and picks Will’s hand up again. “Dance– later, maybe? I’m really enjoying this for right now.”
“Of course. Anything you want,” Will smiles, as the music in the background softens into something more mellow. He pulls his chair up so that it’s flush with Mike’s, their thighs pressed up together in one line, and passes Mike a flute of champagne from the table. “You might want to drink this, though, because your mom looks like she might be heading over here any second.”
“Thanks,” Mike groans, then knocks the whole thing back in one go.
—-
Will knows that a big fancy flashy wedding isn’t really Jonathan’s style, and he didn’t think it was Nancy’s either. Which is why he was surprised to get an invite to an event at all, because he’d honestly sort of thought they’d make a courthouse affair of it and then have everyone over for dinner or something. They’d been engaged for, like, three years, because it was career stuff and then more career stuff and then a couple months of long distance while Jonathan was doing some photojournalism thing in London, and Will had figured at some point that they’d get so tired of being engaged that they’d show up the next day with papers from City Hall and that would be that.
Apparently, though, in a not-so-surprising turn of events, Nancy Wheeler takes to event planning like a moth to flame, and Jonathan was immediately dragged along for the ride. He didn’t seem too upset about it, though, when Will had asked. “It’s Nancy,” he shrugged, like that explained everything. And maybe it did, because not too long after that, Will started dating Mike and everything immediately clicked.
Which is maybe the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to him. For anyone else, Will would not even entertain the thought of fussing over seating arrangements, and he’s certain he only knows, like, five types of flowers– if pink and red roses count as two different types. It’s Nancy, Jonathan had said, and Will hadn’t gotten it then but he does now.
Mike’s hand twitches on Will’s bicep, fingers clutching once at the fabric of his shirt. Will’s suit jacket lies abandoned on the chair behind them. Mike had leaned over maybe half an hour ago to rest his head on Will’s shoulder, as it got later in the night and guests started slowly trickling out of the room. And then, maybe fifteen or so minutes ago, his breathing had evened out, fingers slackening in their grip against his arm, and Will doesn’t know how the hell Mike can fall asleep in a room that’s filled with so much noise, but he can’t help but find it endearing– wholly, completely, embarrassingly endearing.
And he gets it, he does. It’s Mike, he thinks, chest flooding with warmth in a strange, hollowed-out way, like there’s nothing left inside him except this feeling. It’s Mike. It’s Mike. It’s–
“Hey, hon,” comes a voice behind him, and Will startles, just a little, then immediately relaxes.
“Oh, hey mom,” he whispers, and Mike’s hand twitches lightly against his arm again. Joyce gives him an amused look, glancing down at Mike, then back at Will.
“Did he fall asleep?” she asks, pulling up a chair next to them. “I’ll be quiet, don’t worry.”
Will feels himself smile before he actually realizes he’s doing it. “Yeah,” he snorts softly, “but I have no idea how.”
As if roused by some sixth sense, like he knew they were talking about him, Mike stirs, lifting his head off of Will’s shoulder and blinking blearily. “What–”
“Shh,” Will says, and Joyce bites back a smile. “Go back to sleep.”
“I didn’t mean to,” Mike says, and then yawns loud and conspicuously. “Shit– I’ve just been so tired this week, sorry, Will–”
“Don’t be,” he says immediately, even though his shoulder and arm are starting to fall asleep, just a little. Will drops a kiss to the top of Mike’s head, and feels him start to smile into his shoulder before stiffening, a little self-consciously, and glancing up at Joyce.
“Um–”
“Oh,” his mom waves a hand, “don’t mind me. You two are so sweet. You remind me of Nancy and Jonathan after they started dating. Jonathan would turn so red, but maybe not as red as you’re turning right now, Will–”
“Mom!”
“Red?” Mike perks up, and then, “Oh you are turning red!”
“Shut up,” Will mumbles, but he’s sure it’s not convincing in the slightest. “Did you come over here just to embarrass me?”
Joyce puts two hands up in the air like hey, don’t look at me. “I was just going to let you know that Hop and I are taking off,” she says, eyes sparkling. “He has the early shift tomorrow, but Mike, now that I’ve caught you– your speech was wonderful. Really. Jim was tearing up and he told me to never let you find out but I figured you’d want to know.”
Mike blinks. He still looks a little out of it, still a little red from sleep or the champagne from earlier, but he smiles, sudden and pleased. “Really?”
“Don’t tell him I told you,” Joyce grins conspiratorially. “But yes. It was very sweet.”
“Thanks Mrs. Byers,” Mike says, the words stretching into another yawn, quieter this time. He groans lightly, then pushes himself off of Will’s shoulder and sits back up.
Will peers over at him. “Are you tired? You want to head back?”
Mike rubs at his eyes with both hands, blinks a few times in rapid succession, then shakes his head like he’s trying to shake the sleep out of his body, like it’s a physical thing. “No,” he smiles, and it’s a little bit tired, but he looks happy. “No, not yet.”
“Okay,” Will whispers, and he’s probably grinning like an idiot, but he can’t help it. That’s the common denominator here, between every interaction he ever has with Mike– that he’s so happy that he just can’t help it. “You still want to get pizza on the way back?”
“God, yes please,” Mike groans in relief. “Um. No offense, but wedding food is just– like what the hell, man, I’m starving. That was nothing.”
“Pizza it is,” Will agreed easily, mentally making a pros and cons list of getting a large and having leftovers or saving money and going for a medium. “Pepperoni?”
“Anything goes,” Mike is saying, and then Joyce clears her throat.
“Well,” she says, snapping her purse shut and smiling. “Hop and I are heading out but– oh, drive safe you two. Eat a slice for me, actually, I’ve been craving pizza all week.”
“Bye, mom,” Will smiles, craning his neck upwards as she plants a kiss on top of his head.
“You too,” she says to Mike, who barely has time to blink in surprise before his mom is dropping a kiss on his forehead. She rests a hand on his shoulder briefly as she smiles and says, “I’d welcome you to the family, Mike, but you’ve been a part of it for years already.”
“I– bye, Mrs. Byers,” Mike says faintly, eyes wide, as Joyce waves goodbye. He turns back to Will. “Part of the family? Really?”
“It’s what you get for dating your best friend,” Will murmurs, glancing out over the rapidly emptying room before tugging on Mike’s arm until he falls into him with a small, startled noise. “You get smothered by my mom.”
“I wouldn’t call it smothering,” Mike laughs, eyes darting down to Will’s mouth. He swallows, and says, softly, “Plus, I like your family. No complaints from me.”
Will hums, soft. “I’m sorry about– you know. How did that go?”
“Nancy said she survived mom and dad with minimal damage,” Mike laughs drily. “And nana too. And I managed to avoid them long enough that they didn’t have a chance to ambush me, so.”
“Good,” Will says, kissing Mike softly on the corner of his mouth, then again, right over the curve of his cupid’s bow. He’s a little warm, a little loose and pliant from sleep, and he moves easily, tucking a finger into the loop of Will’s tie and pulling him in closer. Their knees bump against each other under the tablecloth, chair legs scraping gently across the polished floor as Will leans forward. “I’m glad,” Will says into the kiss, and Mike smiles.
“Me too,” Mike whispers, tucking his hands into Will’s hair and pulling away, just barely. “Because now they’re gone and all of our annoying cursory invite relatives are gone and it’s just you and me– and Nancy, and Jonathan, and El and Lucas and– whatever. I think I owe you a dance.”
There’s something slow and melodic playing as Nancy and Jonathan make the last of their rounds, most of the tables empty and the dance floor cleared out. Will grins, kisses Mike one more time for good measure, then stands up. “Okay,” he agrees, “but I’m leading.”
“I don’t think it makes a difference, because neither of us can–”
“I’m leading,” Will says again, and Mike chuckles, shaking his head.
“Yeah, sure. Lead the way, Will.”

the occasional beeps from heart monitors down the hall accompanied by the sounds of hushed sobs and footsteps were the only noises in the lobby of the hospital besides cody’s own beating heart. besides him, austin sat with his arms crossed over his chest and his headphones turned up so loud that cody could hear the painfully sad music that he was listening to. however, cody could only assume that listening to sad music was better than listening to the chaos that was happening around the halls of the hospital as nurses and doctors constantly changed rooms to watch over a multitude of patients. this did, however, gave cody a chance to finally sit alone and face his own thoughts and emotions. he leaned forward, rested his elbows on his knees and held his head in his hands as he closed his eyes and imagined how different life would be if he didn’t get tired of waiting.
“cody! holy shit cody you’re no fucking help! what do i do? cody!” y/n screamed, her eyes wide in panic as she struggled to put the car in reverse and pull away from the parked car that she had just hit while trying to park in the spot beside it.
cody laughed beside her, not even bothering to hide how humorous he found the entire situation. he took a second to calm down and catch his breath so he could say, “alright, alright. just pull out a little bit, put the car in park and switch with me.” he unbuckled his seatbelt, watching the woman’s shaky hands as she pulled back and put the car in park. as she moved to unbuckle her own seatbelt, cody reached over and grabbed her chin. he turned her head to face him so he could lean in and leave a gentle kiss on her lips. “you’ll be okay honey, don’t worry. just breathe.” he reassured her, holding his face in his hands as he watched the panic slowly leave his girlfriend’s face.
cody smiled, which y/n tried to mirror but it was clear she was still very much worried and embarassed about the entire situation. she found comfort having him touching her, and cody’s reassuring words and smile had eased the woman even more. “thanks honey, alright, now let’s switch.” she said, unbuckling her seatbelt. at the same time, cody quickly opened his own door and stepped out.
he jogged to the other side of the car and opened the door, only to see brandi step out of the car instead. cody felt brandi kiss him and thank him for opening her door, and he nodded to acknowledge her words. he shut the door behind her, and she quickly looped her arm with his. “alright, remember, no getting distracted on this grocery run, ok honey?” she reminded him, staring up at cody.
cody remembered how weird it felt at first to have some other woman that was not y/n on his arm. but now, as brandi does it, cody just takes it as routine. he nodded his head again, clearing his throat before asking, “shouldn’t i be telling that to you?” which earned him a confused look from brandi.
brandi was not the type to get distracted on these grocery runs and cody knows it. it was y/n. y/n who would sneak away from him whenever he was too focused on reading a nutrition label to run off to the trading cards section to feed her addiction. y/n who would hide between aisles as cody paced them looking for her, only to jump out and shoot cody with some toy gun she would find. y/n who would wonder off to stare at the ice cream section to debate about which flavor she should get before grabbing the cookies n cream ice cream that she would leave with… every.. single… time.
with y/n, everything was unexpected, exhilirating, but at the same time predictable because that was the type of person that y/n was and cody found her absolutely endearing. with brandi, everything was planned, calculated, and routine. cody knew exactly what brandi would do and where she would be, because that was the type of person that brandi was.
and although with brandi, cody found a stable foundation that he could rely on if nothing else worked out. with y/n, cody had an exhilirating love that pushed him to actually work for the life he wanted and when things didn’t go exactly as planned, he always had her to pick up the pieces, put him back together, and get him out there.
so why, why couldn’t he just wait a little longer? he remembers when he and brandi became official, something that was born out of the guys in the locker room peer pressuring him to finally get cuffed and that the hot ring announcer was interested in him. and he remembers never seeming to find a reason to break off the relationship with her. it was convenient, and filled a hole in his heart that only a relationship could heal, although it would never heal completely.
he remembers the first time he saw her again. it wasn’t anything spontaneous, and he knew that she would be there. she had come to the wwe with her first run for the company a few months before cody would make his return to the company at wrestlemania. it was backstage at this event that cody remembers meeting her behind the tour buses when no one else was supposed to know he was there.
“oh my god!” y/n yelled, running towards the hooded figure that stood between a tour bus and a concrete wall. she jumped, trusting that the hooded figure would catch her in his arms, and he did.
y/n wrapped her arms around cody’s neck and her legs around his waist, feeling his arms squeeze her by the waist to hold her impossibly close to him. he spun around, out of pure joy of finally having his favorite girl in his arms again. he remembered how shaky his hands were when he finally sent her that “i’m here at wrestlemania. meet me behind tour bus 073.” text. the first text he’d send her since they last spoke all those years ago. cody wasn’t even sure she’d even see the text, as he had to message her through instagram since he no longer had her number. but it was as if y/n was waiting, as he watched the “seen” message appear just under his text followed by a “no fucking way…” in response.
“hush, y/n” cody whispered, hating how calling y/n her own name to her face felt on his mouth. “no one knows i’m here besides the big guys. ok? i just…i just had to tell you, you know?” cody continued, leaning down as a sign for the woman to place her feet back on the ground. he set her down gently and pulled away, standing up straight and pulling off his hood so y/n can look at him.
and as he finally got to see her again, cody could feel the way his heart wanted to jump out of his chest. he could feel his lips tingle, as if they were telling him that he should kiss the woman in front of him whose lips were pulled into the widest smile he had seen on her face since the days that he would surprise her with pink carnations. however, he could feel how much his brain hurt at the thought that his wife could be watching them from the tour bus windows, as he was unable to lie to his wife and had told her that he’d be meeting with an old friend behind the bus that he wanted to introduce her to.
“cody… wow..” y/n breathed out, not hiding the fact that she was most definitely checking out her ex-boyfriend in that moment. how could she not? cody was certainly bigger than she remembered, and the feeling of his muscular arms around her just seconds before confirmed this thought. “you look amazing.”
cody could feel heat start creeping up his neck and bleed into his face, as he nervously placed his hand on the side of his neck. “you’re stunning, y/n. always have been and always will be.” he admitted softly, hoping that the tour bus was sound proof enough that his wife couldn’t snoop in on their conversation. “i.. there’s… my wife, she’s been dying to meet you. i’ve told her all about you, just.. just not about us. she doesn’t know about that.” cody whispered, hating the way that he saw something like sadness flicker in y/n’s eyes for a moment before the woman enthusiastically nodded her head.
“well, what are you waiting for? put your hoodie back on rockstar and take me go meet your hot wife!” y/n quickly replied, reaching up to pull up cody’s hoodie on for him before turning quickly on her heel and making her way out from behind the tour bus. she heard cody’s footsteps behind her to get in front of her and lead the way, and she quickly mentally punched herself in the head for forgetting that cody was, in fact, a married man now. married to a woman who only thinks  y/n and cody are only good friends, might she add.
she would be stupid to think that she’d have a chance again.
but little did she know, cody was already imagining what it’d be like if it was y/n in that tour bus helping him prepare for his big return instead of his wife.
cody shook his head at the thought, being pulled out of his thoughts by austin who was attempting to get cody’s attention by tapping the man’s shoulder.
he opened his eyes and turned his head to look at austin to meet his gaze, before breaking the eye contact and sitting back in his seat.
austin cleared his throat before speaking, “sorry about what accusing you of being unfaithful to your wife. i completely overstepped and that’s on me.”
cody nodded his head in acknowledgement before letting out a sigh, to which austin cocked a brow at. “it’s okay. it’s my fault anyway, through and through. i…” cody paused, fully aware of the fact that they are in a public area and they are public figures and anyone could be listening in on their conversation. despite knowing all this, cody continued after a beat, “i love her, you know.”
who this “her” was, austin couldn’t decipher. but it was clear that cody meant it towards whoever he had in mind and that it was something that cody would only know. “yeah, yeah i know. but, for the record, when it comes to y/n, i want to be there for her.” austin found himself admitting. cody bit back his tongue at austin’s words to prevent him from saying anything else that could hurt somebody.
“cody runnels-rhodes?” a nurse called out, catching the attention of both men. cody stood up and took a step towards the nurse before glancing back at austin and motioning him to follow. cody continued making his way towards the nurse, knowing that the sound of footsteps beside him was austin.
“oh, uh. is, is this your partner?” the nurse asked, and before austin could deny it, cody simply nodded and shot austin a look. austin finally caught on to what cody was doing, and nodded along side him. “good news, ms. y/n is in stable condition. you’re listed as one of y/n’s emergency contacts, so if you and your partner would like, you can both come in and visit her. but please, do be quiet, she should still be resting.”
the nurse lead the two men down the hall, and lead them to y/n’s room. the nurse quickly reminded them to be quiet before opening the door for the two of them.
cody stepped into the room first, feeling the tears quickly pool in his eyes at the sight of y/n laying in the hospital bed hooked up to countless machines and an oxygen mask over her face. his feet felt as though they were glued to the ground, before he felt austin lightly shove him towards one side of y/n’s bed. the two men pulled up two chairs closer to the bed.
austin wiped away his tears as he sat back in his seat, his eyes fixed on y/n’s sleeping body. he did his best to keep his eyes off of the crying man that sat across from him, wanting to give cody some sort of privacy.
cody had grabbed y/n’s hand the moment he sat down, bringing her hand up to his face so he could kiss it. he hadn’t even known he had started crying until he started tasting his own salty tears and he lightly kissed her hand.
the two men didn’t know how long they sat there for, listening to the sound of y/n’s heart on the heart monitor. finally, after what seemed to be forever, the room was filled with the sound of austin gasping out a “y/n… you’re awake” followed by y/n’s very light chuckles and coughs as she teased cody,
”oh codes. don’t tell me all those are for me.”
cody looked up at y/n in disbelief. he couldn’t believe that she had enough energy to still tease him after nearly dying in his arms because of him, but it did cause him to smile. he felt her take her hand out of his grasp so she could wipe away at his tear stained face, and cody allowed himself to lean into her touch.
“of course they’re for you, y/n. i’ve told you before there’s no point of living in this world if you weren’t in it.” he whispered, ignoring austin’s presence in the room and allowing himself to imagine that just for a moment it was only him and y/n in this world.
“god, i love you so much cody.” y/n breathed out, followed by a coughing fit which earned a shocked look from both of the men beside her. she brought her hand up to her lips, coughing out a petal. she stared down at it, noting that it wasn’t as painful as her previous coughing fits that’d happen. additionally, a single petal was nothing compared to the countless bouquets that the woman had already spewed out. if she remembers correctly, the effects of hanahaki decreasing in intensity was a sign of the disease being cured. so… why? clearly the doctors hadn’t performed surgery on her to remove the plant growing in her lungs - she would not be able to give consent to the surgery in the state she was in.
she looked over at cody, who looked relieved to hear her confess her love out loud and reached to take the petal out of her hand and throw it to the ground. he took her hand back in his and brought it up to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to the back of her hand.
could it be?
before she could question cody, the door to her hospital room was opened and a doctor stepped in.
