Aragorn said, "You have my sword."
Legolas said, "You have my bow."
Gimli said, "You have my axe."
Gandalf didn't say, "You have my staff," because it's Gandalf, not his staff, that's powerful, and besides, I think it was pretty well established for the Hobbits by now that Gandalf was on their side.
But what did Boromir offer? He was, in a way, the odd one out. He was new to this whole Hobbit thing. He struggled to grasp the reason for this whole mission. Some may have been unsure at first if he was really dedicated. They may accuse him of being less noble than Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, especially because he briefly fell to the Ring's influence.
But when all was said and done, what Boromir offered was the most touching. No, he didn't offer his sword or his shield or even the horn of Gondor. But in the end, in the moments that counted, even though Frodo wasn't there to see or hear it, Boromir's deeds declared:
"You have my life."

The other day I was watching Fellowship of The Ring with my fam, and we got to the end where Frodo & Sam are on a mountaintop looking at the view,
And I think it says something about how much Tears of The Kingdom I play that my first thought was to paraglide down from there.
Now I want an AU where Link is part of the Fellowship

I’ve started watching fantasy high and I am enamored! Doodled the cast while listening to all the introductions. I’m on episode 5 and loving it! Here’s the kids!

so, this week, I loaded up AO3 and saw that i fear no fate (for you are my fate) had reached 400 kudos and over 9000 hits, and I'll be honest, on some level, I don't quite believe it.
I promise you I'm not normally this soppy, but when I published my first chapter, I expected maybe a handful of people to ever read it. this story and these characters, they're extra-special to me because they got me back to writing after a long (for me!) burnout, and they kept me writing during the darkest days. I truly can't express in words how grateful I am for everyone who decided to give my silly pair of dragons a chance. your support, your kind words, any jokes or rambles we share, your time whether you've read eight words or all eighty thousand (so far)—it all means so very much!! 💖💞💖

I don’t know murdoc but I still want to know!! hit us with #7: what do they smell like?
black tea. bergamot. lavender. vanilla. maybe just a little bit of orange blossom.
... it's london fog. murdoc smells like london fog to me. specifically london fog made with lavender earl grey. i imagine he wouldn't use perfumes or scented oils or anything like that on himself - that's far too much sensory input - but he creates and blends brews of tea. so i imagine he smells like his craft, as one tends to do.
it helps not only that he likes the smell of tea, but that he always has tea on him, or at least in arm's reach. tea is comforting to him. tea scents are comforting, good sensory input. and you never know when you might need to brew up a nice, warm cup for someone who needs it.
so yeah lmao boy's got tea leaves in his pockets. at least he smells good kjdhfdskjsm.
and thank you so much for indulging me!!! since you've said you don't know him - murdoc is my hobbit bard player character in @potatoobsessed999's tolkienverse d&d campaign, the mirkwood campaign!! i've uh. talked about him quite a bit, if you want to check this out. or this. or this. x3

Hi! I saw you’ve finished Mnemosyne and I was like “yes! Gonna sit down and read this beautiful thing all the way thru!” I’d been sitting out the past few updates so that I got a whole “binge” feeling (like a normal book I guess?) so I didn’t have to sit with all the new emotions I knew each chapter/update would leave me with. I could just keep powering through!
But now I have to go through all of those emotions at once…it’s never ending!
Anyways, I love you and how alive your stories feel!
Ps if you ever do make a print book lmk cuz I’d spend money on that!
Always delighted to be the purveyor of emotional turmoil!!
And that my stories feel alive might be one of the loveliest compliments I can think of<3

Nolofinwean Week Day 6: Erien and Finbor
(Am I aware that Tolkien ended up leaving these two on the cutting room floor, and therefore shouldn't really count? Yes. Do I care? No.)

I have a pain playthrough and a therapy playthrough of dark souls
#the pain playthrough is bow only#the therapeutic playthrough is a 'knight' playthrough#that means I have to wear only fashionable & matching armour sets. particularly knight armours like the armour of favour and elite knight#& steel set & catarina knight set & such#and I also I have to fat roll or medium roll if I must#and I have to use knight-y weapons. but I'm lenient with that one. I'm using fun early weapons like the drake sword & gravelord sword#& crescent axe (I killed patches to see how reah's quesline plays out)#I'm just gonna use the fun & not generic weapons. but not anything ugly/non-knight-y like clubs#& not anything that I'm too used to like zwei or most straight swords and greatswords#& another rule is to use shields heavily. I'm gaining an appreciation for them after the loooong playthrough where I was averse to them#(my 'brute pyromancer' build turned 27/45/50/50 str/dex/int/fai 100%ing the game build (which was a lot of fun but was tiring & *punishing*#I used all of the magic & all of the weapons but I grew weary#so this time I'm making things easy for myself & I'm sctually gonna level vit for once in my life#the stat distribution is gonna be like 20/20 str/dex; a bit of faith for healing miracles; high end for armours; & a lil' vit#I'm also probably not gonna use havel's ring so that I can keep my mid/heavy roll @ 40 end#this build is basically the knight starting class elaborated upon#I'm also a freak who doesn't ever use the ring of favour & protection#you should try it. unshackle yourself from neeping the fap. using different rings is fun#dark souls#important wisdom

It is a real problem that I cannot reblog this like 20 consecutive time, without looking crazy! A real shame indeed!
I know that Peter’s Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy technically has flaws but also….it doesn’t. It’s perfect.
