I refuse to believe there is an ending of 2521 that does not have Heedo and Yijin together. And itā€™s not just because Iā€™m deeply obsessed with this pairing and need a happy ending or Iā€™ll die (which might be true) but I think the very nature of the story insists on it, too, even if they try to psyche us out with the present story. I think thereā€™s been a lot of moments specifically designed to make us frantic and worry - like ending episode 14 onĀ ā€œCongrats on the weddingā€ but I feel strangely certain that they will not destroy our hearts with the ending of this story. I canā€™t say I know HOW weā€™ll get there; two remaining episodes certainly makes me nervous, because it feels like a lot to reconcile, but in the grand scheme of things, it may not be as much as I fear?Ā
Iā€™ve seen some people try to rationalize that this is obviously a story of people coming into your life and being important but how that doesnā€™t always last forever because life keeps going on, or that itā€™s a story aboutĀ ā€œgaining and letting goā€ of I guess people and things in life. But.... honestly thatā€™s NOT what this story has been telling us at all, so if we were to watch Yijin and Heedo actually drift apart, it would be completely at odds with the story told so far, wouldnā€™t it?
Who has actually come into anyoneā€™s life and gone away? Jiwoong and Seungwan have had each otherā€™s backs since day one. Seungwanā€™s mom has been on her side. Yurimā€™s family has gone above and beyond for her. She may be leaving, but even though she tried to make a clean cut, Jiwoong refused to stand for it. Sheā€™s not leaving his life - or their friendā€™s. Even when Yijin actually physically left, he was never truly out of Heedoā€™s life, because they remained connected to each other through unwavering support and belief in each other. If the story was about people coming and going, weā€™d have seen more of that. Weā€™d have had to see Yurim leave and then lose contact with everyone - but thereā€™s only two episodes left, so to show that would feel sloppy and rushed. Maybe they could have shown us Seungwan and Jiwoong drifted as he took interest in Yurim, but no, their friendship remains just as strong, just as important.Ā
I donā€™t think itā€™s even about gaining and letting go, either. Heedo may not have initially gained Yurimā€™s friendship, but she persevered at becoming her rival and gained her friendship through the process. Although initially her career and opportunities were taken from her when her school cut their fencing team, Heedo fought to ensure she never had to give it up. Yurim does what is hard for her family, but I donā€™t think sheā€™sĀ ā€œlosingā€ anything - she made an active choice, and for her, what she gains far outweighs what sheā€™s losing (and I think her time in Russia will not last a long time). Yijin lost literally everything, separated from his family, but he still learned to have the courage to find a new dream and start again. I suppose you could argue that his job at the current is presenting him difficulties that put him at odds wtih what heā€™s gained, but really that brings me to what I think the real theme of 2521 is.Ā
From the very moment we meet Heedo, from the very first episode, this has been a story about finding the courage to fight for what you want. Heedo refuses to give up on fencing - and because she doesnā€™t, she develops her career and wins medals against her idol/rival. Yijin learns thatĀ  he has to face what is overwhelming and scary, that like Heedo, he needs to go after it with all heā€™s got, and he comes back to Seoul and becomes a reporter. Yurim endures because she loves her family far more than her accolades, because what matters most to her is helping her family.Ā
Rather than about receiving and losing, 2521 is about facing and chasing, about mustering courage, about the obstacles that trip us up and how we face and overcome them.Ā  And no, it does not always happen the way they want to. Seungwan quits school just shy of the csats and graduation, because her convictions are so important and she refuses to fold at this time. She will not be joining her friends in college and will be a year behind everyone else. But she faced her obstacle with courage and overcame it.Ā
Yeji works hard to succeed in competition and still chooses to walk away, because she knows in her heart what she really wants. Jiwoong literally faced his absolute fear of driving to rush to not only tell Yurim goodbye, but to have his selfish moment and say what he really fees.Ā
Thereā€™s numerous moments within Heedo and Yijinā€™s relationship, that further support that this is the real theme. Their individual careers threaten to pull them apart - now that Yijin has had to report on Yurim, he knows that there may one day be a time he has to do the same to Heedo, and it eats him up. And I think thatā€™s an obstacle thatā€™s been built up to us in a way that we came to anticipate it, that we will see them overcome, too. I think seeing Yijin sobbing in the tunnel the way she did will help Heedo come to see things from Yijinā€™s view - that his hands are tied by his career and sometimes we do things we donā€™t want to because the world is cruel and cold in that way. (And maybe she will hopefully also see that Yijin breaking the news was the best thing that could have happened for Yurim, that anyone else might have torn her apart, that no one but Yijin could have delivered the news in the most respectful way to her.)Ā
So much of this story has been presented to us as people who overcome what challenges them, resolve the issues they face. They have developed such a healthy relationship, built it up SO MUCH that I donā€™t for one moment feel like the best theyā€™ll give us is two episodes and thenĀ ā€œbut people drift and nothing lasts foreverā€; itā€™s not, in fact, in the theme of the story being told, which is that anyone can persevere if itā€™s worth it. Yurim and Yijinā€™s fathers both persevere even though itā€™s hard, for families they love. Heedoā€™s mother has persevered when she was never given room for capacity to grieve and had no room in her career to carve space to be a mom, because so much was already on the line. Yurim perseveres because she has shoulders such a heavy burden of guilt and had a family she wants to protect so badly sheā€™s willing to leave home to do it.Ā
And I think Heedo and Yijin will persevere, because they love each other so much that they must. Because Heedo guides Yijin to do what is right and courageous, because they both make each other better people, who mean so much to each other.Ā
The opening and closing of episode 14 is absolutely designed to make us fear the worst - to think ahhh itā€™s been years since they last spoke, they seem so awkward and distant, to tug on our hearts. But if thatā€™s the case, why would they reiterate their support for each other?
ā€œEver since the beginning, I give you my unwavering support to root for you, Ms. Na Heedo.ā€
ā€œWherever I am, I will give you my unwavering support Mr. Baek.ā€
That doesnā€™t read like the relationship of an report turned anchor and the athlete he uses to cover; it reads like I love you slipped between the lines.
ā€œWherever you are, Iā€™ll make sure my support reaches you. Iā€™ll take care of everything.ā€
If Heedo really married someone else, if they really drifted apart and were no longer important people in each othersā€™ lives, then why these lines?Ā
Maybe in the same way that Heeodā€™s mom has to hide her relationship to Heedo, Yijin and Heedo will find that hiding their relationship works best to not interfere with their careers - so that THEY can handle things TOGETHER the way they want. I think paralleling it with her mom would tie in really well, too; weā€™ve been made to better understand her situation, so itā€™s no longer just to show how alone Heedo was. For them to repeat the same pattern would be Heedo coming to understand why her mom handled things the way she did, too.
And though their conversation initially looked awkward, almost painful and wistful, going back through it again, you can also read it like two people trying VERY HARD to mask their real feelings - two people who maybe havenā€™t been able to see each other in a while due to their individual careers and miss each other but must not show it on the news.Ā
idk. I have some hang ups with the present (with the actress playing adult Heedo) but I think I can trust the writers to not break our hearts. They wanted us to fall in love with this pairing, they wanted us to root for them and support them. Why would they take it all away, right?Ā
Next week cannot come fast enough. Please give me the ending Iā€™m looking forward to.Ā

another great ep i had to commemorate it in points:
- i freaking love diaper bestie friendship. seungwan protect jiwoong like a lion mom. it hurts to see how she cornered when she's done nothing wrong. she even sacrifice her futureć…”altho it more like her staying true to herselfć…”but thats also partially because man who continually abused her best friend never deserve her apology. she's so fucking cool and brave and awesome. i know she'll do even greater things and she will stay awesome. thank you for this seungwan's centric ep!!
- jiwoong crying on seungwan's shoulder... blaming himself bc all misfortunes in seungwan's life come from their friendship but seungwan saying she'd have been dying from boredom if it's not bc of him GAH THATS A TRUE KINDRED SPIRIT THING
- seungwan and her badass mom put the abusive teacher on his place that's so true!! and well they do really look a like I'm surprised!!!
- i love how yijin taking care of seungwan, even lying that she is his cousin (well, partially, it's true now given how they live in same house). i love yijin is so nonchalant to jiwoong but he's also taking care of him. we know he's been taking care of yurim since forever, and we know he's been more than taking care of na heedo. he's been looking out for everyone; his friends, his family. aside him being responsible adult, it's just him give the love he has been receiving from his fam back to others. and that's so heartwarming to see.
- yijin having another live broadcasting breakdown and almost ruining it POOR HIM but also that's funny to see his ruined notes
- yijin swooning over heedo's french bc yea man SAME
- i thought yeji gonna continue fencing once she taste win but she's really eager to give up i didn't see that coming... her coach doing everything she can to make her stay so it's sad to see her lost her student but also it's encouraging to see her brave enough to take another path, stray from one she had been doing all of her life that's must a life challenging decision
- yijin trying hard to put umbrella right above her head when she's rambling & keep her close while walking ajhdakvdsksjskkd
- based on still cut preview when heedo at the hotel i thought yijin was talking to another reporter regarding heedo and something about the docu that went wrong I DID NOT EXPECT IT AT ALL HE'S HAVING A HEATED (thanks to jealousy????) CONVO WITH DALKONG WHERE HE GATEKEEPING HER???? pls that's hilarious
- heedo flirting using yurim's banana milk as excuse to stay longer with him and him knowing EXACTLY what she means and smiling like a fool PLSSS THATS CUTE
- heedo & jiwoong ended up the only one taking CSAT none of them see this coming neither do i
- overthinking time when heedo say yeji & seungwan event make a crack that make things no longer same PLS IM SCARED?
- heedo's new straight her looks cute & pretty
- and yeah... finally... the ending scene.... well i guess the world end for me at that moment bc when she make first move and kiss him THAT LONG i feel my world EXPLODEEEEE like heedo??? how long have u been holding back urself???? i know it's a lot of hard work we've seen how yijin did all kind of heartfluttering things it must been hard AAAA HEEDO MY GIRL YOU'RE UNSTOPPABLE
- yijin???? man???? you're just staying still??? like i know he shouldn't be doing this but i know he can't push heedo and I KNOW he kind of want it too right man don't lie to me i know it's right
- GIVE ME ANOTHER KISS WHEN HE KISS BACK!! BETTER YET WHEN HE INITIATED IT FIRST!!! GIVE ME THAT BEFORE ANY ANGST SHIT HAPPENED I BEG U

heedoā€™s support is reaching yijin, theyā€™re not growing apart, is the fact that heedo has no idea what yijin is feeling, so she wonā€™t have the right words, you know. not always, not in moments like that. the same way he couldnā€™t understand why she wanted him to tellĀ ā€œyurim was wrongā€ back in ep3. but if they could only see that!, I guess yijin being the first one to sacrifice himself and his happiness to do what is right makes it all worse. I do think part of his growth is learning that he canā€™t save everyone, and thatā€™s ok. he isnā€™t the one to have to feel everything every time. I do think they can talk and communicate, what will come out of this, I donā€™t know. but itā€™s so on character for them to be acting/re-acting that way and that conversation heedo had with her mom was very important too. is it worth it? whoā€™s to say but them.Ā

Don't you think the choosing someone's career over love/connection is so??? Like there's not a way to make that happen? Why is it always one or the other. It's starting to feel as if they're going with "right person wrong time" and that doesn't make me feel any better *sigh*
Hmmm, i guess it doesn't bother me (yet--lolol i know it will break me when it happens on screen). They're two incredibly ambitious people, moreso than other most other people--after all, it was their ambitions that drew them to one another in the first place--so i can't imagine either one of them letting the other "settle" for staying in a certain place over reaching for further career ambitions. Even when they're apart, it's Heedo's accomplishment that helps compel Yijin to stop hiding out in Pohang, go back to Seoul, and be ambitious again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even Heedo says this to him in her voicemail:
Tumblr media
All that being said, i do think the drama is trying to set up a parallel to Yijin's parents' marriage. His mom is definitely annoying in the way she wails after his dad at inappropriate times, but once she stops being insufferable, she has this to say:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's right after this, when he's clearly thinking of Heedo, that he says he wants to try again in Seoul. But interestingly, he doesn't search for her right away either. He still focuses on accomplishing something before deciding to show his face again, which contrasts with what his mom says about wanting to improve by being together with that other person.
Ultimately, i think the drama is going to eventually land on the idea that true fulfillment lies somewhere in the middle between pure ambition and the value of interpersonal relationships. It's telling that Heedo's mom in the past was so focused on accomplishments over anything else that it created a strained relationship with Heedo, and the same thing happened with Heedo's daughter valuing accomplishment over the joy of ballet, even when Heedo wasn't trying to push that on her. And Yurim can't fathom the idea of friendship with Heedo over her passion to stay on top. I wonder if it's that same focus that will strain the relationship between Yijin and Heedo as well. What brought them together could also tear them apart?
So to say "right person, wrong time" is probably (hopefully) a bit of a misnomer, but instead it should be "right person, wrong mindset," or "right person, wrong balance" or something like that. This drama really is about hope at the end of it all, so i can't imagine it ending up being about a broken relationship that can't be fixed. Not after everything we've already seen about Heedo and Yijin coming back together despite everything pulling them apart.

okay, theory time!!!
so this is solely based on the description of episode 14
Tumblr media
i guess the truck of doom got to yurimā€™s dad after all :(((
but what could be bad from a personal standpoint about reporting this? you would think the only thing yijin would have to do would be reporting on the accident bc it has to do with yurim. but what if itā€™s not that simple?
my theory is that yurimā€™s dad and another car hit each other and the people in the other car want to blame her dad for it. yurimā€™s dad is either dead or is in a critical enough condition to not be able to defend himself.
therefore, yijin, just like jaekyung, will be asked to report on the accident as if it is solely yurimā€™s dadā€™s fault as it will bring a lot of media attention that a national fencerā€™s family would be involved in this.
obviously, this would not sit well with the taeyang squad. but the audience knows yijin would not do this. even if it cost him his job. but maybe this isnā€™t clear at first to us or the rest of the taeyang squad. maybe yijin even has to contemplate it at first. this would also correlate to heedo saying in the preview ā€œi need to give you a warning as your girlfriend.ā€
ultimately, because it would be very out of character for yijin to go through with something like that, he doesnā€™t do it. but maybe there is a misunderstanding along the way that leads the squad to believe he DID.
this would hurt them all immensely but it would also hurt yijin when he finds out that they honestly thought he could do something like that too.
this would explain how yijin and heedo would hurt each other at 20 & 24.
my theory isnā€™t as in depth past this point but if by any chance Iā€™m right I would assume this is where a time jump would be implemented and the last two episodes would be baekdo finding their way back to each other and forgiving each other for the situation above.
this would be angsty, yes, and im not sure if i want this to happen or not, but I do think it would make a happy ending in the present more likely bc if the two of them were to break up in ep 14 than what is the point of the last two episodes?
again, this is only a theory and i could be completely off on what the actual storyline is but i just couldnā€™t find any other reason why it would be a problem for yijin to report the accident unless yurimā€™s dad was portrayed in a negative light.
let me know what you guys think! sorry for this getting longer than intended!

omggg hi! 25 21 update pleaseee! fav characters, fav scenes and so on. rant your head off, please and thank you
finally someone asked me to talk about this show (i wouldve still talked about it but still thanks) im halfway thru Episode 5 btw.
Characters:
Na Heedo: remember how i said i want to protect her after reading your synopsis? the adoption papers are under process right now. she feels like a younger sister, so full of life, so full of hope, full of joy and bravery. she is so simple in her view in life, she has barely any forethought. she no has filter in her expression, and that makes her such a genuine and caring person. Her smiles the widest smile ive ever seen (im obsessed with her smile btw), then in the next scene her eyes are teary. she screams, she whines, she even throws her body around. bc she lives her life dramatically. and given the nature of the show i know sheā€™ll grow up and time will take these things away from her. and i want to protect her from all of that. the faith that she has in herself. when no one believes that she has it in her, when she has no achievements to show for herself. She decides fencing is her destiny, she decides sheā€™ll reach the top, and she makes it happen. For her, liking fencing, the excitement it makes her feel, is reason enough to stand against all the disbelief. I wish i had that too.
Baek Yijin: i intially thought he is the love interest former rich kid and i couldnt care less about him. Guess who was bawling her eyes out in Ep 2? I quickly realized that he is the one dealing with the actual adult repercussions of the IMF crisis. He used to be fun and popular, he had good grades, he wanted to go to NASA. but overnight he lost his dream, and most importantly, his family. watching him face humiliation after humiliation, worry over his brother, yearn for contact with his father, broke my heart. its easy to forget, he is just 22, too young to stand on his feet and face the creditors hounding at his door. He had his whole life ahead of him, and now all the good things in his life are gone. I remember the look in his face in the school flashback. I want that back for him. I want his happiness back.
Ko Yurim: i think the writers are showing her from a distant POV right now and will go in-depth with her character later. but yes i do have some resentment for her. I am genuinely confused as to why she cant stand Heedo. If its simply because she is worried that sheā€™ll overtake her, im sorry but thatā€™s not a good look. I understand the pressure she feels to follow up her gold medal, but unfortunately as of right now that doesnt balance it out for me.
Heedoā€™s Mom: i know she means well. but her view at her daughter is incomplete, she doesnt even know who she is, what she wants. and the parts she does see are always the ones she interprets negatively. she doesnt believe in her, and that ā€˜rejectionā€™, you might say, hurts her deeply. That hits too close to home. Usually all that a kid want from parents is their support. They want them to accept them, for their achievements and their mistakes. And not getting that can haunt children forever. ā€œThatā€™s who you are to me. Youā€™re someone i dont want to talk toā€ šŸ’”
Coach Yang: she is so funny, and the accent, i keep trying to copy it lol. i initially thought that sheā€™d be the tough love kind of coach, but i was surprised that from time to time she praised Heedo and made her aware of her little achievements and her strengths, and also valuable insight on the specific things she needs to work on. Like Heedo mentions in her monolouge, other than Yijin, she is the only one who has shown trust in her.
There hasnt been too much on Jiwoong and Seungwanā€™s characters yet so šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø.
Jiwoong is a damn smooth flirter. he doesnt come off pushy, and his compliments feel genuine. Yurim seems to respond, the coast is clear given that she actually moves on from Yijin lol.
And Seungwan im really intrigued by bc sheā€™s the top student and i immediately empathize lol. and another reason why i wanted to watch the show was that i saw a gifset of a scene between her and her mom. and i really need to get to the context of the scene.
So this was supposed to have a General Thoughts segment but this is already way too long so ill make the second post on my blog please check it out over there!!!

so 2521 team really did that cliffhanger and expect me (us) to go on our days completely sane?????????????? ??????? when I am trying so hard into not reading their relationship as romantic????? convincing myself that they're just an example of a hetero wholesome relationship???? ??????? i actually succeeded quite well...ahemmm. Indeed, their relationship is very wholesome and btw a loud shout-out to yijin for not making things weird that would make things kind of creepy. i've seen it happen in age gap kdramasšŸ‘€ and heedo i'm sorry if i am not taking your crush on yijin very seriously. it's cute but your bond with him is much more more more more special <3 kinda jealous ngl
..........šŸ‘€ not to sound like a very much super gay person who projects on pieces of media on main but heedo and yurim is really going all out with their lesbianisms. the full extent of their LGBTQIA+ power! wew you go girls!!!! I think the majority of this episode is dedicated to the kinda alternate universe of 2521 where it is a lesbian coming-of-age drama and the leads are starting to come out from their rival era and gradually inching to the long-awaited lovers period. is this queerbaiting...or am i just projecting? my brother who is watching over my shoulder told me there's nothing to be giddy about in the whole lovery-dovey documentary shoots.... lollll
however, our favorite hetero couple would not permit their moments be outshined by the sword-wielding bisexuals whose one half of the latter duo is ironically also the other half of my favorite hetero couple. wowwwww a screaming shout-out that can still be heard in outer space to the 2521 team, especially to the screenwriters who wrote this drama!!!! you ma'ams and sirs deserve a kiss on the mouth, platonically of course. i am in aweeeee of the main lead's dynamics. there is no gaudy love triangle involved! (except the one that i've created in my head; a bisexual loves both girl and boy and the girl she loves also loves (?) a himbo and the himbo loves her in return and also his bestie who is with him since birth and the bestie respects the first bisexual's boy and the main boy loves them all btw. wow i don't trust my mind) a very organic webs of relationships! legitimate friendship! besties forever! ohhhhhh the next episode will be so much funnnnn!!!! focusing the spotlight again on my favorite hetero pair, heedo and yijin's relationships in this episode is slowly blurring the line.....however, it is done in a way that feels very natural. and cute. don't forget the cute that i have to pause the video to scream my lungs out or to slap the table like i'm in a rowdy bar to bet on something or someone. poor table and poor lungs but for yido i would destroyšŸ˜ž
---"You said to had to have me and I was wondering how." šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜† banger #1
---"Don't you have any faith in me?" "What am I to you?" "Have faith in me" bangers # 2, 3, and 4 but also yoooooo yijin's lines remind me of the questionable tv and radio dramas that I grew up watching and listeningšŸ˜†in which that lines are usually uttered by an unrepentant fuckboy who is deceiving yet another innocent victim in the game of love or a main male lead who is promising his lady love of being faithful to her always wherever he goes ksdjlkjslkgjdlksjg
---"Don't avoid me again, I won't forgive you"
"I guess you hated it."
"The word "hate" doesn't even begin to describe it"
hall of fame #3667 in the 2521 investigation department for making my mind drown with thousands of theoriesšŸ¤” who left who? who left first? who's the "heartbreaker"? what the fuck actually happened???? lots of question markssssssssssss
---when he said "her left side"sososososo quicklyšŸ‘€ keeping an eye on her more than often, bro? memorizing her face? just in case? you leave? for good?
---the "look at me" one šŸ„ŗ
---the heedo living in yijin's head rent free exhibit #3
---their moments in heedo's living room šŸ˜šŸ”« won't start thinking of the logistics of their relationships now when heedo is even more confused and yijin is of no help. not that i want him to help though. the responses he's been giving is perfect until he said that damning "It's love. I love you, heedo. I don't need a rainbow." asfadsfgsadjhasbdbajshvdja jfshjgahšŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ‘€šŸ¤”šŸ’€šŸ˜šŸ˜¬šŸ¤©šŸ’•ā£ i don't fucking know what to do with myself that i called out lord many times!!!! lord or whoever is in charge in the sky must have crossed out the tally under my name several times and said "this girl seems to be excited of being reunited with her creator once again" i know this is so christian of me, i'm sorry non-christian or atheist citizens of the world. if it helps, i only draw on the religious teachings for non-religious purposes most of the time, if not always šŸ˜‚
--- the color grading in that last scene in this ep is so pretty!!!! i suddenly remembered the near-death scene in the Black Butler live-action film. loooooordddddddddd. and yijin have to say that "you have a knack for leading me to a good place" and not expect me to interpret this as a death foreshadowing. hello? it's called rest in peace for a reasonšŸ’€ nonetheless, the yijin is still alive in 2022 agenda is still solid in my mind but i am also open to possible...... realitiesšŸ‘€šŸ’€
---"you made me do what was right for a reporter to do"šŸ‘€ uhmmm....is this....it? heedo committed something realllllllly bad that yijin must report it? ???????? ????????
---the feral yijin mode when heedo was injured?????? (top notch! one of my favorite tropes everrrrr!!!!!) šŸ„ŗ that he went up against the producer?! not going to lie, i am expecting a "you're fired" or you're out" line from the producer but I guess i just had too much melodramatic and frankly exaggerated mexican and spanish and sometimes indian dramasšŸ˜. Him insisting that they must go to the hospital? them riding together in that red sports car again? natural wonders of or world #9832
diverting from my favorite homo and hetero duos, this episode shows why i don't hate yurim. i remembered writing that "i feel for her" in episode 7 and i still stand by that. she is relatable...to me... to the children who are raised as a member of an economically-challenged household. who have learned to ignore their wants because the money is to be used for something more important. to strive harder because failing is never an option. not when you don't have any fallbacks. it's like that when you're a poor girl btw guys in case i am reading opinions from rich people. middle-class counts as richšŸ˜” of course her emotional outburst is not really acceptable but at this point i'm becoming more of a yurim apologist so i won't elaborate...... and feeling for yurim doesn't equate to disliking heedo or not sympathizing with heedo. our society grew past the need for looking at things from a binary glass. unless i tell it so.
yurim's mother......wow i am such a judgemental bitch when I WAS READY TO THROW HANDS WHEN SHE ASKED HEEDO IF SHE WAS THE ONE WHO BEAT HER DAUGHTER AND TOOK THE GOLD AND WHEN SHE SUDDENLY HUGGED HEEDO I FELT LIKE A STRAY CAT WHO'S BEEN TREATED WITH LOVE AFTER A LONG TIME!!! AHHHHHHHHšŸ˜ mrs. ko adopt heedo pleassseeee and ms. shin would just send the child support.....loll....just kidding....unless??? yes, so they showed ms. shin with that kinda undignified pose as an act of making amends with her daughter...whatever she's still in my hitlistšŸ™„šŸ™„šŸ™„
Presently, i am very much tempted to try divination in knowing what is the ending but i have to stop myself. maybe tomorrow i'll run 2521's natal chartšŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ or do tarot. i actually already tried shufflemancy which has been mostly accurate for me. i asked if yijin and heedo's married currently btw and the songs are positive. but idk it's for a show and it's not my energy so i won't put a significant weight on itšŸ˜ if u read this part, no u did not

So I have two theories for the Twenty-Five Twenty-One ending
Theory 1:
Tumblr media
Heedo is not with Yijin in the present but some other guy. Minchae's father is someone we haven't met in the show. Yijin was adopted and that's why he doesn't have his fathers business under his name. Yejin has to work over seas which caused Heedo and him to end their relationship. Yurim and Jiwoong are together in the present. Heedo and Yijin finally meet again towards the end of the drama and the two of them work it out for a happy ending. It would explain why Minchae doesn't know Yijin, why present day Heedo seems so surprised that her mother saw Yijin, and also why present day Heedo wants to forget about that past. Lastly the "Full House" comic is about a man and a women who grow to support each other and end up falling in love.
Theory 2:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yijin dies at the age of twenty-five, this is what causes a rift between the friendship. Minchae might possibly be adopted, which would explain the "Choi" Minchae name. Heedo is either together with some other guy or with Yurim. Seungwan and Jiwoong were in love the whole time and they are together in the present. The reason why I state this theory is because in the drama they play the song "25/21" which is about an actual Korean artist who fell in love with a guy at age twenty-one and twenty-five, in which that guy passed away. There is also the actual history of two SK women dueling for the gold medal in the Olympics during the early 2000s. And the comic book "Full House" is a story about two people who support each other and fall in love after they were rivals.
Tumblr media
Please do not take these theories too seriously, as I can be completely wrong. One thing is for sure though, someone probably died. In the present Heedo's mom tells Minchae a complement saying, "how did Heedo get so lucky to end up with a daughter like you". This is what really has me wondering. Plus the show has this feeling while looking back in the past that makes me think that something else bad happened. It is just hard to tell who or with what characters. Like maybe Jiwoong and Yurim accidently passed away after having a child named Minchae. You see there are so many different ways the writer could have went that keeps us guessing. And we will soon find out. Enjoy the rest of the show !

The Bias List
@avatarfantxsy @quyennieĀ @despairandjo I decided to just list them. I need to make a separate post for bands tho. (that was a lie almost as fat as me) So in this bias list I will only list groups that I listen to. The last bias list I posted there were a lot of groups that I hadnā€™t listened to yet so this one will just be the groups I know of. I have a few to add, some I have taken off and I will have a section at the end for potential biases. Also some groups have 2-6 biases. For example I literally canā€™t choose with UP10TION. And sometimes I go back and forth and members in groups so often Iā€™ve somehow tricked my brain into thinking I have more than one. If itā€™s confusing I promise the first member of each group on the list is definitely a locked bias. And another thing, if the member is specifically on my list of moms or daddies they wont be on here, unless they both

yeah donā€™t watch it, itā€™ll make you sad :( yeah exactly, like i guess heedo was still traumatized from her mom always being gone that she was also worried about what would happen with yijin? but what doesnā€™t make sense is her husband in the present was gone the whole time too :/ it was a dumb ending for a kdrama exactly! media is an escape we donā€™t need to be reminded of the real world!! jiwoong and yurim made their long distance work why couldnā€™t baekdo :( we can talk about bp when it ends! :)
oh I didn't know that's why heedo was worried about the long distance T_T... from that perspective I can see why, but didn't BYJ come back to Korea? That's how I could see them being reunited again.. again super unlikely in real life but they were so good for one another, so painful for them to end like that.
Oki <333 im so excited for it eheh
have a good evening <3

What do you think of Kim Taeri saying that Baek Yijin had the biggest influence on her?? I always felt like it was Yoorim?
Did she say that? I haven't read anything about it so far. I guess ms. Tae Ri is entitled to her own view, too. I feel like yijin and yurim were crucial to her at that moment in time, but they were doing their own thing, inspiring/influencing heedo in different areas, so I can't say who had the biggest influence because it all depends on how heedo sees it. since she isn't real, it's up to you to decide that, or decide if this is even relevant, too. in my humble opinion, heedo's biggest influence was her father.

he made SURE he wouldn't lose contact with her again... parallel this to when she was trying to page him and didnt have his number "i guess we're not that close" say says and look at this. oN SPEEDDIAL. also pls share your thoughts on this ep i love your reading what you think ;-;
Anon! My dear, faithful anon! I lament letting your msg languish for nearly a week w/o responding to it. (No, truly, i am rly sorry about that.) I kept meaning to make a meaningful reply to it, but alas alack, the new ep is nigh and shall be upon us in a few short hours, so i fear my reply is nothing but the wasted potential of the frenzied brainrot that could have been.
I love how this drama is depicting how interpersonal relationships work, and how the language we use to describe them doesn't always match up with reality. Like how Heedo, thought her fandom would bring her and Yurim closer, but in reality they ended up in a strained, oppositional relationship. Or how quickly Heedo accepted whatshisnamesweetiepie as her boyfriend, which would imply closeness and connection, yet she rly didn't feel much of anything for him. And how she and Yijin have never rly defined their relationship, and yet just calling each other a friend would belie how deeply they care for each other consistently and unflinchingly, despite the impermanence of the changing times pulling them apart via changing pager numbers and cell phone technology.

@press-one-to-replay ohhhh...I love all the scenes you mentioned especially, the first and last 2. I loved the conversation that Yijin had with his uncle and shared how he is scared and tired of rejection and feels like a loser cause #relatable king!
I would also like to add another scene that is my favorite episode 9, seungwan and her mom's conversation about dropping out. The dialogue, "Seungwan, you have to learn how to be flexible. You can't live in this world if you only know how to break." "I know. But I can't do it just yet, mom." I only know pain and suffering šŸ˜„šŸ˜
Also the exchange between Heedo and Yurim in episode 3 after their senior bullies them and Yurim gets all catty with Heedo. The dialogue, "Gosh, i guess there are tiers even in effort." šŸ˜¢
This show truly was a gem. The more I think about, the more scenes I am able to find myself going back to time and again. Thanks for participating. Feel free to add more if you want.
Let's erase all this negatively. Talk to me about your favourite episodes or scenes. I want to appreciate the series for how wonderful it has been till now and hopefully will continue to be till the end. We must celebrate the brilliance of 2521 šŸ¤ŗšŸŒˆšŸš—
I'll go first. Although I'm most likely to say "Oh, that's my favourite scene too" when someone mentions one because I dearly love this series but here are a few scenes that I've rewatched more times that can be considered healthy....
Episode 1, My mom ripped up Full House
Tumblr media
Episode 9, Gym room confession....
Tumblr media
Episode 3, I was unable to maintain distance
Tumblr media
(I wouldn't be able to maintain distance from NJH too sweetie, it's okay!)
Episode 7, There's no way the fencers don't know
Tumblr media
Episode 4, You give me hope
Tumblr media
Episode 9, It's not rainbow
Such an emotionally charged moment and an honest conversation about their feelings
Tumblr media
Episode 9, Heedo and Yurim Reconciliation
All of episode 9 tbh šŸ¤£
Tumblr media
Episode 6, Wait for me Heedo-ya
Tumblr media
The whole transition from the sound of coins dropping to the OST and focus on Heedo's tears and the snowfall was gorgeous
Episode 13, "Did you come here to tell me that?" "I came here because I missed you"
Episode 7, Gold medalist Na Heedo
Episode 13, German introduction of Yurim
Episode 12, Seungwan reporting the teacher to cops right in front of him
Episode 13, Lifting the car sequence
Episode 11, Baekdo forehead finger flick and affectionate head bumb sequences and ofcourse
Episode 13
Don't take a step away from me
Tumblr media
And so many more....

but you know whats so sweet of him saying it to her when she was all confused on what it was. he was being straight up with his feelings. he wasn't telling her it's something... ambiguous. it's what love is. the way he cares for her deeply and wants the best for her but more than just friends. it's so sweet, regardless if they don't do anything right away cause they won't. it's just sweet to know he truly deeply loves her. there was no other word that could substitute it. but you know i am also very scared cus its not the age they're in love yet and idk how im gonna handle a falling out after this šŸ˜ this show def makes you think about your own life and how you define these things with people you love. also can i talk about how adorable yurim and heedo are now that they are friends? tho i kinda wish yurim didnt feel bad just cause it was her online friend but i suppose she did have a moment to see how mean she was and even yijin said it too. them being all cute with each other ;-; i loved when heedo overheard those girls and fought them like i want someone like heedo around, she might not be on the best terms with yurim at that point but she doesn't let people get walked over. god i just love her?
no, you're totally right! that's why it was all so much for me, because honestly, he was just saying that and jfc, the way he said it was so sweet. it almost hurt me how sweet everything about that was. but yeaah, i also am scared about what's going to happen!!!, this show keeps me guessing in a way not even days or happiness had me, so that's saying a lot.
i feel like it was easier for yurim to not confront her own behavior when she was thinking of heedo as someone who appeared to disturb her life, a nuisance. but the moment she had to look at heedo and see a real person, one she actually knows and love... there was no coming back from that, it was the wake up call she needed.
heedo is just her biggest supporter, and i love them so much, i honestly could watch 8 more episodes of them being cute and that'd be fine with me.
