it's just sort of a bummer to grow up somewhere and have literally worked for the city government and know more about the history of your stupid town than anyone else and then be constantly reminded that half of the people here want me to die because of my religion or how i look or whatever other unquantifiable otherness i possess. and if i express this perpetual othering to anybody who has not had to experience it they assume it is all in my head and i am clearly paranoid or begging for attention.

I love your writing! And because of that, I thought of something that I would like you to create for us, the reader and Pedro are dating. they have been separated for a few months due to recording some of Pedro's projects, in the middle of these recordings he gave some interviews and in one of them the interviewer flirted with him, and he kindly(?) and habitually flirted back, the reader is now leaving the airport and arriving at the hotel where they would meet and her cell phone keeps beeping with fans (and nasty people) who are tagging her in the flirty part of the interview... she arrives at the hotel and confronts him, this is a little anguish? I leave the ending in your hands, thank you for your incredible stories!
Pairing: Pedro Pascal x reader
a/n: thank you for reading them, babe!💗💗
Tumblr media
"hi sweetheart" he smiled, as soon as you opened the door, wrapping his arms around you "I've missed you so much"
You had to take a deep breath to not tell him to fuck off right there and then.
Look at him, acting so sweet and kind while your phone was blowing up with clips of him flirting with another woman.
The perfect fucking boyfriend no?
"Hi daddy" and although the word would have usually sounded hot and sexy, you made sure it was traced with as much annoyance as possible.
"Uhm... ok?" he frowned, leaning away.
"What? You seemed to like it so much when Lidia said it" You shrugged, walking in and dropping your baggage at the door "You don't like it as much when it's your girlfriend saying it?"
He closed the door and leaned his back on it as he tried to understand what was going on.
Everything was fine when he talked to you this morning, what could have changed in only a few hours?
"I'm- I'm sorry, who's Lidia?"
You shot him a look, looking just as done as you were feeling.
"Don't play dumb Pedro, you know very well who she is"
He looked around the room as if a clue on what to say would just appear any minute.
"sugar, what are you talking about?"
"oh my god," you sighed "the interviewer, Pedro!"
"the interviewer? What interviewer?"
"You gotta be kidding me" you exhaled, pinching the bridge of your nose "The one you spent a full ten minutes flirting with yesterday!"
And at that, his eyes widened in realization and puzzlement combined.
"Flirting? I wasn't flirting" he said, walking toward you
"No? So you go around calling mama every woman you see?" you asked, "You tell every woman they're beautiful and that their dress looks really good on them? Is that it?"
"No baby, but-"
"but what?" you cut him off "How would you feel if I did that? If I flirted with the men who interview me huh?"
"That's different I-"
"Oh fuck off" you muttered, turning away from him. You couldn't stand the sight of him anymore.
"Baby, it's part of the job!" he burst
Your hands curled into fists at your sides as you turned back around.
"Flirting is part of the job!?"
"No- you know what I mean, I have this whole persona online, and I..." he sighed not really knowing what to say
"That's not a good enough excuse" you spoke "Just 'cause people expect certain things from you doesn't mean you should do them. I told you I was fine with the whole daddy thing, but now you go around calling people mama? that's a bit much, don't you think?" you said "And I don't know... I didn't like how you were talking and looking at her, it didn't make me feel good ok?"
He swallowed, taking in your words "Ok, I-I'm sorry, really, but I was just being polite, it didn't mean anything"
You only needed to shoot him a look to make him rethink his choice of words.
"No, you're right." he cleared his throat "I went too far, I-I won't do it again, I promise" he spoke more softly now, as one of his hands reached your cheek to stroke it "I'm sorry baby, please forgive me"
You looked up at him, biting the inside of your cheek as you decided what to do.
"It didn't mean anything?" you asked
"No, of course not baby, I love you, I only have eyes for you, you know that"
"I know..." you bit your bottom lip "It's just that she... well she was really pretty"
A soft smile pulled at his lips
"And you're the most beautiful woman in the universe" he promised, "so what?"
A shy blush crept up your cheeks as your lips involuntarily twitched into a smile.
"Ok" you nodded, as his other hand settled onto your waist
"Ok?" he smiled, hopeful "You're not mad anymore?"
"nope" you shook your head
A smile from ear to ear spread on his lips
"oh thank god" he breathed "'cause I've missed kissing you so fucking much, sweetheart"

I have this idea for a fic and you are the very best to write it🥰.
Sports journalist reader and Pedri being in a private but no secret relationship, she is ok with it until people start commenting that Pedri surely wants to keep her private bc he wants to keep his image of being single and linked with ig models, and maybe it gets worse whe he fucks it up with a public comment along the lines of him not being in a relationship and she is like "ya basta de estupideces" and we get drama. Here I don't know what could happen but it ends with our beloved reader doing the post match interview with the players, when it's Pedri's turn they do the questions as normal but at the end he knows the mic is on and he says something like: "me esperas para llevarte a casa amor?".
It's Enough -P.G8
Summary: You're tired of people assuming things that are not true while your boyfriend shuts them up
Tumblr media
You loved your work, you loved being a sports journalist, you were happy when you got the job at Sport and you loved being able to make people see a different point of view from what other journalist do, make players feel comfortable around you and ask them different questions than: "How was the rival team? Any thoughts on winning a certain trophy this year?"
And that's how you met and eventually make Pedri, your ten months boyfriend, fall in love with you, you being yourself even while working.
You had let people known you were in a relationship together two months ago and while everybody knew that, you both liked your privacy and you both tended to keep things on the low. And mostly, Pedri.
Everything has been great, both of you understanding each other, talking of anything, making time to be together, rarely fought but this one... it was the biggest one, you could ever have.
"I'm sorry"
"You really just think a simple sorry will cut it? I have my best friends asking me if you take this relationship seriously! My mom's calling me like crazy because she saw the video and my co-workers are sending me <<I'm sorry>> kind of texts, my brother wants to hit you in the face and I would gladly let him!" You shook your head "Why did you do that?!"
How on earth will he say "I'm not seeing anyone at the moment" when he clearly has you?!
"Y/N, amor-" You cut him off
"Comments about you with other girls have been going on and on lately, I honestly don't care about them, I know you and I know you wouldn't do that but then, you went ahead and said that shit that sent everyone into madness, it makes me rethink of everything I thought I knew about you once!" You admit with tears at the verge of falling "Did you lie to me? Do you really love me? Or you want me just to keep you company at nights?"
"Hey, no. Please, don't think that" Pedro shook his head "I've never lied to you, I'm in love with you, you are the girl of my dreams and the love of my life"
"Si lo soy, entonces ¿Por qué carajos dijiste eso?" (If so, then why the hell you said that?) Your voice broke lightly and the first tear fell down "You just embarrassed me in front of everyone, Pedri. There's nothing you can do to take it back, people think I'm good with open relationships, with you cheating, people are saying that you are hiding our relationship because you're embarrassed of me, people are saying you broke up with me just because you had what you wanted, people are saying shit about us, about me and it's all thanks to you"
"No, I didn't wanted that. I didn't- I'm not ashamed of us, of you, I just wanted to protect you, I-"
Your phone ringing interrupted him, you looked down at your hand and your boss's name flashed across the screen, you sighed in fear. You were news and bad ones.
"I gotta answer this"
"Please, amor-"
"Don't call me that, Pedro. In fact, don't call me, don't text me, don't even look at me, nothing at all because if you do I will do something I will later regret on"
"Like what?" He asked softly
"Like breaking up with you" You said strongly looking at him "I really can't bear with you right now, Pedro. We'll talk later" You shook your head and answered the phone going upstairs
Pedri felt like crying.
He knew he screwed up the second those words came out of his mouth, but it was as his body just blurted them out before his mind could process it. He just wanted to keep you safe.
But what a way of doing so, right?
He tried to do something else to shift his attention to the small office he set up for you at his house like washing the dishes, play some NBA, laundry and eventually get ready for his match.
He went upstairs with the intention of going straight into his room but his body tricked him and he ended up at your office, his heart breaking up when he heard you sniffing while speaking to your boss.
"You're giving us bad reputation with those news, Y/N" He heard your boss say
"I know, sir; my apologies" You said "He must have been really tired, you know he isn't like that"
"Whatever it was, it's done"
Pedri closed his eyes, his hand on top of the doorknob ready to come in and defend you but his phone interrupted him
Tiburón🦈
"Ya vamos a empezar a calentar. ¿Dónde estás?" (We're starting the warm up. Where are you?)
He sighed and went to your chat: "I love you, always have and always will. I'm truly sorry about everything, my love. But I'll make it up for you, I swear to God"
And leaving a kiss on the door, he left the house quickly, his body was on his way to Lluís Companys but his mind and soul stayed with you at his house.
You sighed, coming out of the shower. You had to go to Barcelona's match because you were scheduled for tonight's interviews, looking at the watch on the wall, you saw you were a bit early but still needed to go so you could make it on time.
You weren't in the mood for anything today. From being called names, to have all of your contacts worried about you and your relationship, to have your boss onto your neck wanting for you to dissolve any rumor but won't even knowing how to do so.
You wanted to simply disappear but you never had powers back in high school and you won't grow powers now being an adult. So the only thing you did was buckle your pants up and act as if nothing was affecting you.
Calling a cab, you went to Lluís Companys and with the help of Aaron, the cameraman you started the reportage in which ended up with Barcelona being the winner. 2-0. Both goals from Pedri.
Both goals that were dedicated to you.
Your heart beating incredibly fast at the gesture of your boyfriend who changed his glasses celebration for your name on a personalized Barcelona jersey, still with the 8 number
"Te quiero" he had said before giving the jersey to one member of the staff and return the game.
You felt extremely proud knowing he was the MVP however your happiness slowly turned sour because as he was the MVP of the match you had to interview him, you wanted it or not and you weren't ready to face Pedri yet.
"Buenas noches, Pedri" You said with a small smile, professionalism running through you
"Buenas noches" (Good night) He said softly
"Vamos a ser un poquito rápidos que sabemos que tienes que irte... Enhorabuena por la victoria de esta noche" (Congrats on the win tonight) ", 2-0 against Getafe How do you feel?"
"Well... Good. We played very well, we had control, we managed to knock the rival mostly from the sidelines, we knew we had to be strong since Getafe is a great team as well. And well, it was a very good game which we won and now to focus on the next game"
"Both goals from you with amazing assists of Fermin and Raphinha. They were amazing, by the way"
"Gracias"
"And you are the MVP for tonight's match. Congratulations as well with that, Pedri. How do you feel about that?"
"Good, good. It feels amazing, my goal is to score more and make more assists this season and hopefully I'll be able to help the team in any way I can"
"That's good to hear, Pedri. Once again, congratulations. Have a good night!" You said quickly wanting to get over with everything. "¿Lo agarraste?" (Did you got that?) You ask Aaron who nods and goes to show you a bit of the footage.
"Amor, ¿me esperas para que vayamos a casa?" (Babe, you wait for me so we can go home?) You heard Pedri asks "Por cierto, esto es para ti" (By the way, this is for you) He hands you the jersey
"What? Why?" You receive the jersey looking at it
"I'm dedicating goals to my one and only girl, is it bad?" And as much as you wanted to refuse a smile slowly came up to your face. You shake your head softly coming over to him to hug him "Te amo" (Love you) He said "And I'm sorry" You smiled and kissed his lips before kissing his sweaty, dirty but rosy cheek
"Don't do it again please" You whispered watching his big brown and beautiful eyes
"Never. You're my girlfriend, I'm in love with you and I see the rest of my life with you by my side, amor" He whispered back before pecking your lips softly "Entonces... ¿Me esperas? Voy a bañarme y a cambiarme rápido para que vayamos a casa y descansemos" (So... You wait for me? I'll shower and change really quick so we can go home and rest) You nod softly
"Better be quick, I really want to go home" You smiled untangling yourself from him
"I'm off right now"
"Y/N..." Aaron called you softly with a panicked look to his face
"What?"
"Football players mic was on and that was live" You open your mouth in shock, troubles keep coming at you.
"Don't mind" Pedri said "Let everyone know I'm taken by the best girl ever" You looked at him and he winked at you squeezing your hand.
What a sneaky boy he was.

my headcanons for trans!myne:
urano's past-life memories are awakened within amab myne
myne decides that because of his body and because his family only knows him as a boy, he should just think of himself as a boy
keeps unintentionally slipping into feminine language because it feels more natural. myne assumes this is because urano used feminine japanese and it's just a bad habit he needs to overcome.
struggles more than he expected to switch over to masculine language but manages to force himself to eventually. however, it takes constant work, and he can't understand why. he’s in a boy’s body now, so shouldn’t it be easier?
lutz notices his occasional slips into feminine language and asks about it. myne claims he's just doing it as a joke, but lutz remains suspicious.
myne doesn't even realize that she exclusively uses feminine language within her internal monologue.
tells his mom that he doesn't want to cut his hair just yet because he wants to try a longer style. he's seen men with ponytails so feels it's still masculine enough and doesn't dig too deep into why he wants it longer. he's already invented rinsham at this point, so his family just accepts that he's got some weird obsession with his hair.
lutz notices the longer, shiny, nice-smelling hair and compliments him on it. myne feels confused happiness and then realizes that being complimented by a boy makes him all flustered. oh no! could he be gay? what even is this society's attitude toward gay people?
tries asking around about gay people and generally gets an answer like, "everyone's gotta marry and have kids, don't they?" which doesn't really answer the question he's trying to ask, which is "if i'm gay, will that get me in trouble?" eventually, effa's like, "myne, you'll have to marry and have kids someday, but you and lutz can still be close if you want to be," and myne gets so flustered he stops asking questions.
lutz confronts myne about not being the real myne. myne confesses that he used to be someone else. lutz asks whether the person he was before myne was a woman. myne says yes, and lutz nods as if that makes sense. for some reason, myne feels really relieved, but that's probably just because lutz isn't going to tell anyone, right?
one day when left home alone, myne decides to try on the baptismal dress effa's been making for tuuli "just out of curiosity." she cries because it looks so nice on her.
the same thing happens with the hairpin they make for tuuli. she's starting to suspect this being a boy thing isn't working out exactly how she expected.
when effa starts working on myne's baptismal outfit, she decides she at least has to try. she tells her mom that she wants to wear a dress to her baptism instead of pants and a shirt. effa nods, smiles, and agrees to sew myne a dress for everyday use as well. myne is shocked. she never suspected that it would be that easy. effa laughs and explains that sometimes that just happens. jurgenschmidt society is fine with trans people, as long as they fulfill their societally-assigned gender roles.
no one bats an eye when myne starts wearing a dress and using feminine language. she finally feels like she's really at home in this world.
fast forward to myne staying the winter at the temple after becoming a blue shrine maiden. it's her first morning in the temple, and she gets summoned to ferdinand's chambers. he takes her into his hidden room, and she prepares for a lecture, but he just sighs and says, "you should have told me when you first entered the temple that your body was different." and myne is like, "huh? different? oh, right." because she genuinely forgets a lot of the time that she has a penis, so much so that ferdinand didn't even question her being a woman in her past life when he looked into her memories. she realizes delia must have noticed when giving her a bath last night and reported it. she tries to apologize, but ferdie just waves her to silence while tapping his temple. "i will need to rethink my plans for your future," he says, and myne's like, "uhhhhhhh, what?" but he doesn't elaborate, and after asking her a few questions about her life as a commoner, he sends her back to her rooms.
it isn't until later, when ferdinand explains to her that she will likely need to marry a noble someday, that she understands what he meant about his plans for her future. ferdinand explains that she will need to marry a man who is capable of bearing her children or have a mistress on the side to provide children for her. myne starts desperately thinking of ways to avoid either of these fates.
fast forward to myne starting to attend the RA. during her return to ehrenfest for the dedication ritual, ferdinand takes her into his hidden room and introduces her to the potions she will begin taking once she is sufficiently recovered from her time in the jureve that her body begins growing again. "potions? like the ultra-nasty rejuvenation potions?" but he shakes his head. "no, these potions are to help you develop the type of body you want." and then he explains that as she grows, she can use these potions to control whether or not her voice changes, she grows facial hair, she grows boobs, etc. myne immediately makes a grab for the titty potion but ferdinand slaps her hand away and reminds her she's still recovering from her time in the jureve.
hartmut and lieseleta both become experts in mixing the potions to help myne manage her body's changes through puberty, and she finally begins using them during her third year when her thinned mana allows her body to begin growing again. she's just sad that ferdinand isn't there to celebrate this moment with her.
when lestilaut tries to woo her at the tea party, she reveals that she is incapable of having his children, but he immediately brushes that concern aside with a, "i don't want you for your ability to produce children. that's not where your value lies." she internally clicks her tongue that the ace up her sleeve turned out to be useless.
during her fourth year, in the garden of beginnings, as anvachs begins to grow her body, she desperately reminds the gods that she's a girl and she wants a girly body with huge titties. when she's finally done growing, erwaermen explains that anvachs was so excited about making her look like mestionora, he hadn't even heard her request. myne gets a chill thinking about how close the gods came to fucking up her entire transition.
after rescuing ferdinand, myne is baffled when various people who know she's trans, starting with hannelore, start suggesting that she marry ferdinand. "it might be a political marriage, but i'm not interested in having a mistress on the side!"
it isn't until she rushes back to ehrenfest's castle to warn ferdinand that people are trying to marry them to one another that ferdinand casually drops the bombshell, "my body is different too, rozemyne."
yeah, that's right this is also a trans!ferdinand AU ha ha bet you never saw that one coming XD
anyway, everyone's fine with myne and ferdie becoming a couple since they're t4t and the two of them laugh all the way into the sunset with their happy qpr marriage
the end

Completely out of the norm type post for me, but I just had such a revelation that I gotta tell everyone... Hey if you don't think you are one of those people who don't think they went through a lot of transphobia maybe rethink it, because I just did over some time and realized I was actually very much bullied only just for being a trans person every year in school and I ONLY just connected these dots even though it was pretty blatant. It wasn't an issue of not recognizing the bullying, but not recognizing it as something coming from transphobic biases.
Like for an example, when I first started to try and transition ( I cut my hair and wore some more masc clothes), the cis boys in my school started to make it a whole thing to insult each other by saying they look like me. They'd make sure I was present to witness it and say " hahaha you look so much like (deadname) today " and at some point one of the boys got so upset by this comment he literally beat the absolute shit out of the other boy and said " dont fucking say I look like an ugly girl "
And like yeah, I knew it was SOME kind of joke at my expense, but I didnt really think of it as transphobia. It was only extremely recently I was like " Oh, they were actually feeling threatened by my expression of masculinity because seeing someone they thought was a girl being masculine made them feel feminine and insecure about it, and they didn't understand why id want to be masculine because they thought it made me ugly, that is most certainly transphobia"
Theres a lot of rlly weird and violent things that happened towards me because I was trans during school that I only just now was able to label as "transphobia" and I was keep wondering how I could miss something so fucking obvious, and like. I think its just because I always was subjected to some form of this? Like starting from when I was labelled a "tomboy" girl as a kid ? so it was just so commonplace and No one told me that this had a specific word so I just took it as " weird bullying against my self that i dont really understand" rather than like. transphobic attitudes. Huh.

So I’ve been trying to make a clearer statement about how I feel about liberals who stay silent on the multiple genocides happening, but then will try shame you into voting for Biden.
One thing that makes me extremely emotional about it is the willful ignorance of it all? The acting like this is a small party disagreement, like student loans or tax reform. This is bodies, this is genocide plain and simple, so if you don’t want to seem like a privileged asshole you need to admit that. And I’ve noticed that the vast majority of posts don’t. They don’t admit what they are asking what you are voting for.
When the world is having a global movement of pain and suffering, and we are now deciding what is ok. If we are ok with our freedoms and safety at the very express oppression of others. Which of course is nothing new, of course this is America one of the biggest colonial powers in the world. A country built on the bodies of Native Americans and on the backs of black people. This country isn’t new to oppression of all types.
But we are seeing a mainstream agreement of ‘This is enough. I don’t want my comfort and safety at the expense of others.’ And when you come against that, you gotta know how you look.
I don’t want a Trump second term. I’m trans, I’m autistic, but I also understand that I’m white and I’m not the one who’d get screwed over the most.
I guess what I’m saying is, if you’re truly think that the best way to help Palestinian, Congolese and other peoples is by voting for Biden, then go vote. But blind support of a President doesn’t make him rethink any his policies. It gives him incentive to do whatever the fuck he wants because he knows he has supporters. By attempting to shut down any conversation (whether you mean to or not ) you’re uncritically supporting essentially a race to the bottom.
Because I hate to tell you guys this but, if Trump doesn’t win this, he’s going to try again. Any if he is by some chance dead or in jail, someone worse is going to run. Where do you draw the line? Where do you say, lesser of two evils is all fine and good but I can’t support this anymore. Or will you always follow the Democrats simply because at least they’re not Republicans?
Voting at this point is a stop gap it’s by no means the solution. Our government is headed becoming more fascist by the day and voting for Democrats doesn’t stop that. What are you doing outside of voting for Biden? Are you calling your representatives? Are you protesting? Are you organizing? Or is voting the only thing you have in your bag?
Because I’ve noticed that when people do talk about voting for Biden no matter what, they have no further ways to help. Which is something leftists get clowned on for all of the time. If you actually want people to vote for Biden you need more than shame and fear. People have completely lost hope for change, what are you doing to bring that hope back?
If you genuinely want people to vote for Biden you have to show some hope, some real proof that if they do their voices will be heard. What a lot of people see is a lose lose game, it’s no wonder that they want to break the game. You need to admit why people don’t want to or have conflicts about voting for Biden, and have an honest conversation with yourself and other people.
I want to believe that we can change the system, that we won’t always have to dread Election Day for the rest of my life. When you are asking people to vote for Biden, are you genuinely looking to change the system or just simply uphold it for your own convenience?

i'm absolutely one to advocate for not assuming capability/it being an affordable psychological cost for celebrities, or anyone really, to do anything. and if you know me i'll hold back on saying 'this mentally ill neurodivergent person with a big following should speak about x' longer than most people. because i know activism and i know what brains and disability can be like and i know i'd rather have someone not push themselves to do what they're not capable of sustaining than be another one who ends up dead.
but the thing is, this is only part of it. it's not enough alone. accepting ourselves with our limitations and the fact that some of us are disabled in so many diverse ways doesn't mean things get fixed without anything being done. and that's where I think we need to ask, how can we accommodate to problem solve the reasons it's hard to do something good? and as fans obviously we can't fix the world but we do have power to put in place some of these things. surely if we learned nothing else from a band who thanks their fans at every opportunity it's that they wouldn't get anywhere without us listening to them. it's a parasocial relationship but a relationship nonetheless and with that comes power. to act in ways with meaningful consequences and may they be good. power of negotiation. to communicate and uplift. to accommodate where necessary.
so how could this look? the first thing i suggest might be counterintuitive but i challenge us to rethink our relationship with celebrity. to learn about life outside the western world and think about art and why we enjoy it together. what draws us to song. think about if we were a village and we came together to sing these songs. if we got to become a village, finding solace with those we go to our concerts with, but imagine the artist in question lives in said village. and we have to contend with the real them maybe not being exactly as their persona suggests and having things they're hurt by, and as a village we need to acknowledge those because they're here to heal. we love them; they know. let's act like that by listening to them. we admire them, but they'd rather us treat them like a normal person. so we do that. we put ourselves in their shoes
how, then, does this relate to activism? imagine we're in the village. as a village we want to make a stand, maybe to negotiate with the neighbouring village or some developer who wants to flatten our home and build a carpark there instead. we bring our points to the table. we acknowledge all of them. and some people's facts are plain wrong! yes that happens!! but then we talk about language. we've gotta unravel the propaganda rampant in today's society. someone thinks arguing for the liberation of one group of people oppresses another? we discuss ways in which we can have both. someone thinks talking about how one group suffers negates the way another group suffers? let's trace it back to a common cause of their suffering even if one is more than the other. one harmed another? acknowledge people do that because they are hurt too but it does mean it's also bad. then, there, we've talked about it. if anyone is unhappy, continue to voice your concerns. we have time for all of them.
and this especially applies to Village Celebrity we've mentioned before; they're gonna be the face of this campaign, in some ways that makes them a lot more vulnerable than the rest of us whose identities are somewhat in obscurity. people don't understand straight away and every threat to the status quo breeds insecurity; they might be in a greater danger. not just physically, but relationally, of losing loved ones before either has a chance to explain their perspective. so when something like this happens for someone you carry it with them. and they don't come perfect. maybe they're a bit cynical and more easily swayed by conspiracy theories than someone with a university education or a kinder childhood might be. maybe they're a bit too cautious about what people think and you don't understand why they get so anxious about it. maybe they're restless and want to do good but every avenue to get there seems stifling and their brain gets overwhelmed by all the bad in the world and it impacts their ability to think straight. maybe they have enough insecurities about themselves that the prospect of attempting to help fix anything bigger seems daunting and hopeless.
you still take them as they are. you think of your own skillset and what you can offer them if you have a perspective that can be grounding and helpful. that's how you sustain an activist.
and i know our current relationship with celebrities offers us no room to be able to do these things. they're stuck behind a metaphorical glass wall often for their own safety. but also, deliberately by those who want to uphold the status quo. we're gonna have to work harder and care for each other better to break through it in order for activism to be accessible to more. because i think we've seen enough examples of good people who get driven to selfishness by the very fact that they're traumatised by seas of people they don't know and forget how to be fearless in the face of potential harm to their name if it's permeated in and gotten bad before. that is an injustice against them that we don't know how to look after them. that they didn't have the right support system. and support systems challenge the status quo.
don't get me wrong there's a time and place for calling out lacking or bad activism. and a lot of the time they've done the work, they know how to take it. but we also have this assumed level of ableism born out of desperation for something to happen. and anyone who's ever come across the challenge of a household of people for whom it prevents every member from doing enough chores to get by knows that simply fighting harder doesn't work. we need radical acceptance too and from there we can problem solve. because there's always a solution we haven't thought of yet.

vyn ritcher relationship headcanons // requested by anons 🍋
bro i’ve seen people say vyn is creepy or manipulative and its like?????? hELLOOO not me yall stay safe tho, i’d marry that man. why did mhy have to make them so flawless like damn
Tumblr media
- vyn is very particular about a lot of things, instinctually keeping within the bounds of things he knows he can see through to the end. hence, he doesn't even really try to avoid romantic relationships, the uncertainty is just something he had never wanted to personally experience.
- but then he meets you. you are so perfectly imperfect in ways that take him off his feet, and you show him that it’s only natural to occasionally fall short. you get stumped by cases, you let your emotions get the better of you, yet there is no part of him that views you as any less than perfect despite this.
- he says that he has never believed in love at first sight, but you make him rethink that. because, there’s something about the way you put yourself into your work, in the way you strive to understand his, that is so immediately beautiful to him. it’s a quiet symphony that is so hard to find and he cherishes the idea of sharing such a connection with you
- there’s so much romantic tension between you, it was bound to break at some point.
- to let down his walls to someone so completely is the most generous gift you could ever give him, because being with you is a feeling of freedom he’s never felt before. he might never outright tell you how he feels about certain developments, but he will always let you know in one way or another. whether through a hushed whisper before you drift off to sleep or a certain look as you talk.
- his love language is absolutely quality time — he’s happiest whenever he’s with you! anywhere, any time. you could pull him out of bed an hour earlier to watch the sun rise from your apartment windows, or show him the most hole in the wall restaurants you discovered back in college, and he still would love it. any new experience is worth it when it’s with you.
- he’s a psychiatrist, so there is literally not a better person to go to when you’re experiencing stress or the strain of life. he knows you on a deeper level and is able to help you and listen in ways that no one else can. and he’s more than willing to do so — he thinks of it as a way of repaying you, but even if there were no debts, he still wouldn’t hesitate. seeing you unhappy hurts him as well.
- you visit his lectures and if he’s not participating in a case, he attends your trials <3
- learns your tastes and learns them well. vyn isn’t someone who spends extravagantly or places a low value on money, so any gifts you receive from him are personal and thought out. they might relate to a past experience, a fleeting moment or even an inside joke. but no matter the context, it without fail always demonstrates how much he truly does want to know every part of you.
- EUGHHGHH one of his gifts. one of them. would be another visit to that park, the one where you put locks on a chainlink fence to represent something you want to last forever: but this time, you buy one lock instead of two, and lock it next to the old ones before making a new promise together. (ch3 of his personal story im sorry most of yall just gotta imagine ;-;)
- one of his favourite things to do is to hold your hand. it’s the perfect gesture, not being too grand nor something that requires too much attention. it shows that you’re momentarily linked and don’t have the intention of parting, and in times of panic can be an anchor. he could be frustrated over a specific part of a case you share, and while his frustration doesn’t show well, you would know what’s wrong when he sneaks his hand beneath the table to tangle your hand with his.
- he teaches you a bunch of different card games :D
- jealous asf. i mean, like you’re hot so ofc he’s jealous of people that hit on you 🙄🙄 he handles jealousy poorly but will try to never overstep a boundary, and 9/10 time will let you handle yourself. he trusts you. but will definitely not hesitate to humiliate creeps in your stead (or with you)
- constantly is reminding you how beautiful you are to him. fixes your hair when it’s mussed by the wind. runs the pad of his finger over your knuckle when he holds your hand. gifts you flowers according to their meanings. teaches you all of the different way he makes his coffee for long nights at work.
- manifesting a vyn richter brb.

save your tears☹︎
starring: suna x reader
angst with a hint of fluff
Tumblr media
“we should end this y/n I don’t want to have a relationship right now it’s way too overwhelming and your way too distracting I can’t drag this relationship any farther” he said tired with a stoic expression, on his phone not even caring about your opinion.
“Yeah I understand, thank you for all the memories, well bye Suna” you said slightly breaking in the end but with a happy smile to show him that “your ok” you ran as fast as you could to the nearest school restroom and started breaking down, you had dated Suna Rintaro since both of your first year, and now he has decided to break up with you, what a waste of three years, maybe you were being too clingy, maybe you were too annoying, maybe it was because you sound annoying, or maybe your just overthinking it and it was just Suna being Suna.
“Save your tears for another day”
The day he broke up with you was on both of your graduation ceremonies
meanwhile Suna’s POV:
“Rintaro do you really want to pursue volleyball that’s ridiculous, no son of mine is going to pick a stupid sport over being a doctor!” his father said angered “but father-“ he couldn’t even finish his sentence his father smacked him across the face “break up with that girl you don’t need distractions and I might consider it or your on your own” his father said leaving his room, Suna couldn’t imagine breaking up with you but he wanted to do what he dreamed of doing
time skip 5 years later:
Your now 23, at a party thrown by Atsumu, you haven’t seen your friends from Inarazaki since graduation because you decided it would be best to keep your distance, “Y/N CHAN YUR HEREE WE MISS YAA!” Atsumu said drunk “Tsumu sannn, I miss you tooo” you said giving him a hug, you decided to talk with your old friends welll didn’t you miss them, you missed the old adventures all of you had together, but it was now all awkward because of your ex, luckily he wasn’t here today you didn’t see him in the crowded room
The music was loud, the room was full of people, and your so drunk right now that the whole world feels like it’s shaking, you were dancing around with Osamu laughing and smiling at how both of you are so drunk,
Suna was late because of practice he didn’t knew you were coming, he wanted to get back with you after he became a professional volleyball player he wanted to make it up with you he still loved you, it hurt him to see you go away from him, he regretted everything he did to you… it was too late he couldn’t find you anywhere and if he did you probaly would of just avoided him
He saw you dancing in a crowded room, you looked happy when your with Osamu, you felt someone was staring at you in your direction and you were correct it was Suna Rintaro your ex lover, Then you saw him caught by surprise, you didn’t know why but when you looked at him you looked like you were about to cry He went towards you and you wanted to runaway and avoid him “h-hey y/n” he said scratching his nape “hi Suna” you said trying to act normal “can i talk-“ he said getting cut off by you “well I gotta go bye Suna” you said, he was hurt by you calling him by his last name, he remembered how you would always call him Rinrin or rin, well that was his fault
But she walked past me like I wasn't there
And just pretended like she didn't care
You went by the nearest balcony to sober up, you didn’t want to sound like a drunk idiot talking to him, for no reason you could feel the adrenaline in you faster and your heart is basically beating out of your chest, you stared at the night sky, you could see a crescent moon, your just staring at the moon rethinking on what to do till “yeah the music gave me a headache too” Suna said standing near you shoulder to shoulder
You remembered a similar moment it was the first time you met him after school
Take me back 'cause I wanna stay…
“Yeah” you said not looking at him “So where have you been?” He said taking a sip of his beer “studying” you said trying to make short responses “I just got into a volleyball team” he said faking a laugh “that’s great Suna ” you said remembering the last words he said to you on graduation “You don’t have to act all serious with me y/n” he said hiding his frown “I feel more comfortable like this Suna” you said with a bitter smile “have you been dating anyone?” the raven hair boy said trying to break the uncomfortable silence “y-yeah I’ve been” you lied… he was the only person you’ve ever been in a relationship with “how bout you Suna” you said already knowing the answer would of been yes “no I haven’t I’ve been too busy with volleyball” he chuckled, he couldn’t date any other girls because he could only remember sweet memories he shared with you that will never be forgotten “well I gotta go bye Suna it was nice talking to you” you said trying to get away from him knowing that you will start to fall for him again “I miss you y/n” he said before you could exit the balcony, “I miss you too Rintaro…” was said in a quiet faint whisper that you could only here,
She could've asked me why I broke her heart
She could've told me that she fell apart
“Cheers too y/n getting a promotion to move to America!!!” your friends said cheering for you, there’s nothing holding you back now except Suna Rintaro

One Single Thread Of Gold Tied Me To You
Summary - Everyone is tied to their soulmate with a red thread tied to their wrist. All except Y/N’s, who’s thread is gold. Tired of waiting for her soulmate to come and find her, she decides to go and find them. It doesn’t go quite how she expected it to.
Warnings - A little angst
[A/N] - This is a soulmate au where you and your soulmate are attached by an unbreakable red thread (or, in this case, gold), tied to your wrist. This was inspired by the song 'Invisible String' by Taylor Swift.
Word Count - 4k
As the early morning sun slowly filtered into your room, through your blinds, you carefully examined the thread attached to your wrist. Everyone had one; it was your link to your soulmate. Yours was different to everyone else though. While everyone had red, yours was gold. As you turned your wrist, it caught the sunlight and glistened a little.
Everyone you knew had always been fascinated by it. As was nearly every stranger you met. Why was it gold? What exactly made you and your soulmate so different to everyone else’s? Questions you had often asked yourself as well. Why were you two so different?
Your family had a theory that whoever it was, they were rich. Very rich. That was surely the reason it was gold. Nothing else made sense to them. Meanwhile your friends were completely convinced that your soulmate was some kind of God.
“Come on, Y/N! It’s the only thing that makes sense!” Tracey said before taking another sip of her third glass of wine. Her usually bright emerald eyes were glazed over from all of the alcohol. “Why else would it be gold?”
“You gotta admit, Tracey might be drunk right now, but she has a good point!” Skylar joined in. She took her brown eyes off the blonde and looked over at you before continuing. “Oh! What if your soulmate is like Wonder Woman or Superman or something! How cool would that be?”
You rolled your eyes and took a sip of your own glass of wine. “Stop it. You’re both being ridiculous,” you had told them because they really were being ridiculous. There was no way your soulmate was a member of the Justice League, let alone an Amazonian Princess or the Man of Steel.
You were, of course, curious of your soulmate yourself. Who wouldn’t be curious of the person they’re destined to end up with? But you didn’t think up the crazy theories your friends and family liked to come up with. Instead you wondered things like, what kind of hobbies do they have? What’s their favourite colour? What type of music do they listen to? Were they a cat person or a dog person? And other things like that.
Another thing about the thread that tied you to your soulmate was that, while everyone could see the thread around your wrist, only you and soulmate could see where it led. While you had always wanted to follow it, you had decided that it would be better to focus on having a decent job and place to live first.
During that time a small part of you had hoped that maybe your soulmate would come looking for you, but since they clearly weren’t, maybe you should? After all, you had a well paying job and a great apartment, so why not? Every job was legally required to allow people time off to go search, so that wouldn’t be an issue. It was paid time off as well so you didn’t have to worry about money. You also had a car so you wouldn’t have to spend a shit ton of money on travel. At least, you hoped you wouldn’t. In truth, for all you knew, your soulmate could be in a completely different country. Now that would certainly complicate things.
Shaking that thought away (because there was no way fate could be that cruel), you got out of bed and set about putting the wheels in motion that would allow you to start following your thread
‘ Welcome to Gotham City! ’ the sign read as you drove past it. When you had told those close to you, your plan, they had been super supportive. Now, if they knew where your thread had lead you, you doubted they’d be as supportive. Hell, even you were rethinking things now. Out of all the cities for your soulmate to be in, it just had to be this one.
How did you know it was this city that they resided in and it wasn’t just another stop along the way? It was hard to explain, but you had a feeling deep within your gut, almost like a sixth sense that just yelled “Yep! This is the place!”.
You felt extremely uneasy as you drove through the city. It was night-time as well which did absolutely nothing to help. Honestly, of all the times to arrive in Gotham, night-time was definitely the worst. Well, there was nothing you could do about that now, you just had to keep on going, so you did.
The golden thread snaked through the gothic city and went from the “posh” part of the city all the way to the worst part of the city. The buildings were run down and most of the windows were boarded up. Each turn you took there were shiftier and shiftier characters on every corner. You started to get the feeling that you really shouldn’t be here. Plus you were starting to wonder if you really wanted to know who your soulmate was if they were hanging out in neighbourhoods like this.
You brought your car to a stop in front of a particularly dark and sinister looking alleyway. A particularly dark and sinister looking alleyway that your golden thread lead straight into. Coming to this part of this city was already a bad idea. Continuing to follow that thread to what had to be your certain doom was even worse. Yet, at this point in your mission, you were pretty much committed.
You couldn’t help out a quiet and very nervous laugh as you climbed out of your car. ‘ This is fucking insane ,’ you thought as you stepped out of your car. Before shutting and locking it (though you doubt that would do much to protect it in this area), you grabbed your pepper spray. ‘ I really hope your worth all this .’
As you followed the thread down the alleyway, you heard a sudden loud bang. A gunshot. You stopped in your tracks and you could feel your heart pick up its pace. Your thread lead in the direction the shot had come from. ‘ I really hope you weren’t involved with that .’ Taking a deep breath, you continued down the alleyway.
The alleyway lead out onto another street. There was a small crunching sound as you stepped out onto the street. Taking a step back, you looked to the ground to see what you had just stepped on. The ground was littered with small shards of glass. Looking up, you figured the shards of glass were from the bulbs from the streetlamps. Something had broken them. It didn’t take you long to figure out what, or rather who ,was responsible.
Further down the street, taking on group of ten men, was none other than Gotham’s Caped Crusader. The Batman.
You quickly ducked back into the alley you had just left. You then carefully peered around the wall, so you could watch the fight. You were well aware of the fact that your thread was leading straight toward the fight. Which meant that your soulmate was involved.
You watched the fight intensely, both intrigued and terrified to figured which one of the men was on the end of your thread. There was a voice in the back of your head praying hardcore that it was the hero in the centre of the fight.
Batman was a blur of black and dark grey as he rapidly made his way through the group of men. With a variety of different punches, kicks and gadgets, he made short work of them. During his combat flow, you followed your thread with your eyes and a small gasp left you as you realised who the other end was attached to.
Holy fuck. You’re friends had, kind of, been right. While your soulmate wasn’t Wonder Woman or Superman, like they had suggested, he was apart of the Justice League’s ‘Big Three’. Your soulmate was Batman . At least now you knew why he hadn’t come looking for you. He’d been busy saving the world.
Now you had to figure out how to approach him before he ended up disappearing into the night.
Exiting your cover, you took your thread between your finger and thumb and gently tugged on it a couple of times.
Batman looked at his end of the thread curiously as your tugs had gotten his attention. Then his head drifted upwards, following where it lead till his eyes settled on you.
If he was shocked, he didn’t show it. He just stood there, his eyes never leaving you. Part of you wanted to cower away from the intense stare, but you willed yourself not to. He was your soulmate, and you weren’t a criminal,  you had no reason to be afraid.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said, finally ending the silence between you. His voice was deep and almost robotic sounding. Probably some sort of voice modulator to help hide his identity, you figured.
“In Gotham? Yeah, this place really sucks,” you replied, thinking about all the things you had heard about this city, “but I came here to find my soulmate; to find you.”
“You shouldn’t have.” His voice was sharp and serious as he spoke. He also sounded irritated at your sudden appearance, which caused you to frown. That couldn’t be right… could it?
“What?” You hated how meek and pathetic your voice sounded, but you couldn’t help it. Wasn’t this supposed to be a happy moment? One of the happiest in your life in fact. Instead you felt like you were being scolded rather than meeting the person who was supposed to be your other half.
“I didn’t want to meet you. Now I suggest you go home. It’s not safe here.”
What? You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. There was pressure behind your eyes and your throat tightened. You took a shaky breath as you took a step backwards away from him. It quickly sunk in that the man you’d been destined to be with, the man you had thought about since you were old enough to understand the concept of a soulmate, wanted nothing to do with you.
“I-I’m sorry I disturbed you.” Your voice broke as you fought back the tears that threatened to fall. You weren’t going to give him that satisfaction. You then turned around and ran back toward where you had left your car.
As fast as you could, you started your car up and made your way to a safer part of the city. It didn’t take you long to find a somewhat empty parking lot to park in. Once the engine was off, you screamed and aggressively slammed against the wheel as you let the tears freely fall.
You felt like a complete and utter fucking idiot. Of course he didn’t want you. You’d probably just get in the way of him saving the world or something like that. Besides, what was that article you had seen a few months ago? Something about Catwoman and a relationship between the two? While it happened very rarely, some people in the world had been known to reject their soulmate because they had found someone they deemed better. Is that what had happened? Whatever the reason, you could feel your heart breaking.
You had used to think that, out of all the members of the Justice League, Batman had been one of the cooler members. Now all you could think was that he was a massive jerk.
Maybe it was your own fault for romanticising the whole thing and thinking that your meeting would be something out of a fairytale. Apparently fate was far crueller than you could have ever thought it to be.
Bruce watched as she ran away from him, back down the alleyway she had come from. A small voice in the back of his head told him to go after her. To grab her, hold her close and apologise, tell her that he hadn’t meant it. He ignored it and headed off in the opposite direction, back to where he had left the batmobile.
Over his comms, he heard a barely audible sigh and he could easily picture his butler and lifelong friend shaking his head in disappointment. No doubt he was going to get an earful once he got back to the batcave. Well it certainly wasn’t the first time.
As the batmobile pulled up in the batcave, he could see Alfred waiting for him. ‘ Here we go ,’ he thought as he got out of his car and removed his cowl.
“I don’t want to hear it,” he stated as he walked past him and toward the batcomputer. He set his cowl down on the desk. Even as the words left his mouth he knew he had wasted his breath. If there was one thing that Alfred had done consistently since Bruce had started down this path, it was letting him know when he disagreed with something he did.
“Was that really necessary Master Bruce? She’s come all of this way…” Alfred started, but ended up trailing off. There was a small moment of silence before he continued. “You know, I remember a small boy who couldn’t wait to go out there and find…” Before he could finish what he was saying, Bruce promptly cut him off.
“What would you have me do, Alfred?!” His voice echoed off of the cave’s walls and disturbed some of the bats still hanging on the ceiling. Bruce gestured toward his equipment and the display cases that held some rather badly damaged batsuits. All of them testaments to injuries that had come far too close to killing him. “Would you really have me force this life on to her? The dangers, the no guarantee I’ll come home…” He took a deep breath and rested both his hands on the surface of his desk. “She deserves so much better.” His voice was quiet, but still easily heard in the, almost, silent cave.
“With all due respect, sir, I believe she should be allowed to make that decision, not you,” Alfred replied before leaving the batcave, not giving Bruce a chance to respond.
He looked in the direction of the stairs that lead up into the manor. The direction that Alfred had headed in. Was he right? Should he be leaving it up to her to decide what she wanted? But with all the dangers he faced nightly… No, it was better for him to stay far away from her.
Over the following week Bruce found himself distracted. It didn’t matter where he was, what he was doing, he couldn’t focus. And considering what he did once night fell over Gotham, to say being unfocused really wasn’t good was a complete understatement of the situation. He had been having far too many close calls recently.
He couldn’t get it out of his head. The way she had looked at him as he told her he didn’t want to meet her, that she should leave. Alfred’s words echoed in his mind and he found himself questioning the decisions he had made that night. Something that Bruce rarely, if ever, did. Everything he did was meticulously planned and there was never any doubt when he made a decision. Was this what happened once you met your soulmate and rejected them?
Bruce was sure that the rest of the Justice League had taken notice. With how off beat and slow to react to certain things, it would be hard not to. Of course, if they had, none of them had mentioned it to him. Apparently they knew better. For the time being, at least. He was sure it wouldn’t be long before they did try to pry into his personal life.
Which lead him here. On the roof of the building opposite of Y/N’s apartment building. He hadn’t needed to do any extensive research to find her, or learn her name, because he had been in this exact spot a couple of years ago.
Two years ago Bruce’s own curiosity had gotten the better of him. He blamed Clark and his soulmate, a reporter by the name of Lois Lane, for it. He had seen them one too many times in the Watchtower together and had found himself wondering who exactly his soulmate was and what they was like. As a result, he had gone looking for them. Not because he wished to finally meet them, but so he could make sure his soulmate was safe and happy. And she was, so he had left. Only ever checking up on her every now and then to make sure she had stayed that way.
He looked down at the golden thread that came out of his gauntlet and lead down toward the apartment he’d been watching. Both as Bruce Wayne and Batman he had made sure to keep it well hidden. With its unique colouring he couldn’t allow anyone to see it. It would be all too easy for his enemies to find her if they did see it.
He knew that by being here he was easily undoing everything he had done to keep her safe, but, then again, had she not done exactly that when she had tracked him down in Gotham? Besides, and while he would never say it out loud, Alfred had been right. It should be up to Y/N to decide whenever or not she wanted all the baggage that came with him being in her life. Baggage that had driven more than one person from his life…
He shook that thought from his head and got up from his crouched position on the roof. Bruce then leapt from the roof and allowed himself to fall for a couple of seconds before opening up his cape and let it catch the wind that was rushing past him. He silently glided over to her apartment’s balcony.
Y/N was in her apartment alone. She was sat on her sofa, the light from the tv was the only thing illuminating the room.
Bruce was unsure of how exactly to go about this. Back in Gotham he had originally thought of approaching her as Bruce Wayne, but quickly discarded it. Bruce Wayne showing up at an out of the way apartment building was sure to garner attention. As would Batman using the front door, so the balcony had seemed to be the best option. But now that he was here, he wasn’t entirely sure it was.
Should he just knock? That seemed like the best way to go about this. It was going to scare the everloving daylights out of her, but he could deal with that.
He gently rapped the glass of the balcony door with his knuckles. As he had expected, Y/N leapt up from her seat. A bowl and the contents of the bowl followed her and scattered across her carpeted floor. She spun around and when she saw him, the look of shock on her face quickly turned to anger. Her eyes narrowed and he swore that glare would be enough to make even the toughest of Gotham’s thugs would cower at its intensity. Maybe she would deal with his life better than he thought.
After a minute of glaring at him, she turned around and walked toward the lightswitch. At the same time, she gestured for him to enter.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing here?” she demanded as soon as he had entered the apartment and shut the door behind him. The rage in her voice was evident and Bruce was sure he could cut the tension in the room with a batarang.
“I came to apologise,” he said, his voice gentle despite how distorted his modulator made it sound. Y/N scoffed immediately. He didn’t blame her. If he was in her shoes, he wouldn’t believe him either. After all ‘Batman’ wasn’t exactly known for making apologies.
“Yeah right.” She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest.
“I’m being truthful. I… I shouldn’t have said what I said. It wasn’t right.”
“Then why did you say it?” A fair question and one he had an answer to. Before he even said it, Bruce was aware how cliché it sounded.
“I wanted to keep you safe. This life isn’t for everyone.”
“So without even meeting me, you decided that it wasn’t for me.” She shook her head. “That’s not your decision to make!” she yelled at him.
“I know. It’s been pointed out to me before.” In fact that night in the cave wasn’t the first time Alfred had told him that. “But that’s why I’m here now. To give you all the information you need to make that decision.”
You listened intently as Batman explained the dangers of the life he was leading. The dangers that effected the people in his life in one way or another. He also made it a point to reiterate the fact that when he left at night or was summoned by the Justice League there was no guarantee he would return. You asked the occasional question, but for the most part you just listened to him to talk and let his words sink in.
You got it. You understood the very clear concerns that Batman had about this whole thing, they concerned you as well, but you weren’t about to let it deter you. You wanted to know your soulmate. Even if it ended horribly, like he was saying it would, you felt it in your core that you would regret not knowing him, especially if the worst truly did happen. And you told him so.
“Even if you’re not wearing a mask, this life is dangerous. Anything can happen.”
“Anything could happen to me when I leave my apartment each day.”
The superhero life wasn’t special in that regard. As you spoke, your voice was a lot calmer than it had been earlier. In fact, as he had spoke and explained you had found your anger slowly fading. You still wanted to slap the jerk superhero before you, but that was a considerable downgrade from your overwhelming need to deck him when you first saw him standing on your balcony.
“It won’t be easy.”
“I’ve never backed down from a challenge before.”
You admired his commitment to deter you, but it wasn’t going to work. You were too stubborn to let it. Something you were positive he was learning very quickly.
“There’s nothing I can say to convince you that this is a bad idea, is there?”
“Nope.” You made sure to pop the ‘p’.
Batman sighed deeply. You watched as he looked away from you and toward the golden thread that linked the two of you together. You could almost hear the gears in his brain turning as he thought. Then he was looking back up at you.
“In that case then.”
You watched as Batman brought his hands up to his cowl. Your eyes widened and you couldn’t help the small gasp that left you as he removed the cowl and revealed his identity to you. Bruce Wayne. While you didn’t live in Gotham City, you were well aware of Gotham’s favoured son. You would’ve had to have lived underneath a rock to not know who he was.
And apparently your family had been right on the money, literally. Not that you cared about the money, you weren’t superficial like that. Personality was far more important than the material items someone may or may not have. In your eyes, at least.
You both stood in silence, his blue eyes studying you, probably trying to gauge how you were going to react. To be truthful, you weren’t entirely sure how to react. Except maybe…
“Well, it’s… it’s nice to meet you Bruce Wayne. I guess this is the part where we forget about what happened and start over?”
“If that’s what you want.”
“It is.”
Yeah, sure, this was probably going to end horribly, but you were looking forward to the adventure that lie ahead.

Zhongli
Believe it or not but he quickly got used to the way you express your emotions. It was a bit confusing to him but he understood it in no time (with some help).
But even though he's used to it he still sometimes doesn't know how to respond. This leads to few awkward moments where he just doesn't say anything.
He knows how much you care for him so your sometimes harsh words never bothered him.
Sometimes he might chuckle when you give him a lowkey insulting nickname. He finds it cute when you try so hard to hide that he doesn't make your heart beat faster... That said you often make him swoon as well.
"There's no need to feel embarrassed, it's no secret that I love you" he says as he lets you feel his heartbeat as proof.
His soft smile often leaves you staring, he of course realizes it but doesn't comment on it or show it in any way that he knows.
Xiao
How in the world did you two started dating is one of the most mysterious of mysteries in existence.
Both of you were equally stubborn on denying how you feel and even how the other feels!
It used to be something like this: "I have no feelings for the likes of you" but the second you were gone from his sight he'd still look back at your direction hoping to see you soon.
Basically you two are a mess. But a good kind of mess.
Always pointing how whatever either of you do is nothing big will make you stay up at night and think "Why did I say that!?"
Luckily to you two it's obvious how much you are in love. So even when you are a bit tough to one another you quickly get over it. Xiao would be usually second to apologize though...
"I didn't really mean what I said... So forget it will you?"
He tries to do better and so do you. So it's kind of sweet to see how your relationship changes.
Kaeya
You can say whatever you want he will still know what you really mean. It's like he's reading your mind. That's Kaeya for ya!
He's the type of person who pretends to take your words literally just so he can see your reaction.
"Oh? You hate me now? I suppose I'll leave since you clearly don't want to be around me" with that petty tone. If you end up admitting that you don't want him gone he's going to tease the living shit out of you.
But if you are more stubborn you'll see how far he can go for a joke...
Still it gets lonely and boring without you so it doesn't go too far. He'd hate to make you suffer.
He's not afraid to admit to that mistake "Did you miss me? Because I sure did... Let's not do something like this ever again"
From that time he'd just joke around how he's the worst to satisfy you and without you realizing he'd get closer and closer leaving you a flustered mess. He likes it more than being away from you.
Childe
If you say something rude to him he'd say something along the lines of "You want to kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid" or "Aww I love you too"
The tension between you two is sometimes too intense. A lot of teasing... sometimes even more flirting.
He likes to leave you without any chance to escape him. Be it by hugging you slightly too tight or by everyone's favorite kabedon.
Or sometimes he does something that just makes it almost impossible for you to respond- what I mean is that when he's confident enough he'll kiss you instead of wasting time with words.
In the end he always gotta win. And winning you over time and time again never gets old. The more "mad" you get afterwards the better.
But he sure does like it when you smile more. So he's not gonna be a total douche.
Diluc
He understands that sometimes it's easier to deny your feelings but... You're literally dating.
It's hard to admit your feelings and he never will force them out of you, it might make the moment awkward at times but it might be better than pressuring you.
He is always confused why you get worked up so easily. But he won't be scared to tell you that you are acting like a fool either.
"Calm down Y/N, you don't need to explain yourself whenever you do something for me... That said let me thank you for your assistance"
You might insult him on accident but he'd always just roll his eyes to this and not react in any other way.
Diluc isn't the most romantic person, however his small gestures are his main charm. Always looking out for you and making you feel so safe around you is enough...
Albedo
He might look a bit exhausted by it but in reality he isn't really bothered by it and it's easy to see once you talk to him.
But the other way around is a bit tricky. He can recognize where he completely messed up but if it's something little he probably won't notice it.
The way you act doesn't make it any easier either. Albedo can be quite oblivious at times so please don't treat him with silent treatment becouse he might actually start ignoring you and do his thing for some time, only to later pretend that nothing happened.
"Do you want something? I was a bit busy but now that I'm taking a break I can hear you out"
If you end up in an argument he'd try to rethink what he did but in the end it would be hard for him to see if he did any wrong since he'd think that all he did was give you time to cool off. So direct question was in order.
After getting the answer out of you he decided to make it up to you. Before you knew it he asked you to get ready to go out.
Next you end up on a little date not so far from the city and yet it felt like the whole world was just the two of you on this small part of the world.
"I want to understand you better Y/N... Will you give me another chance?"
Venti
Just you try to deny him your love. That's a dare. He's going to be sooo pouty.
"D'aww Y/N come on! Don't be like that~" he hugs you from behind looking up at your face.
He's rather affectionate in general. But he sees the thin line between you being uncomfortable and you just being a little bit embarrassed.
I imagine that someone like him knows a lot of ways to make his beloved swoon. He knows how is way with words after all.
And he knows how some of his words work on you. So you can bet that he's gonna use that against you.
All teasing aside Venti is extremely loving you know? His jokes are just his way to show you to not take everything so seriously.
Even when he's acting like an idiot he's your idiot. And no matter how you try to deny it you love him and he loves you back. That's the reality.
Sometimes you'll just sit somewhere far away from any other people and just enjoy the moment. Heck he'll even sing for you.
That's when it's the easiest for you to open up to him, that's why he'd often "steal you away" you from your regular duties from time to time.

-Not to nitpick, but Marinette, you should have led with that box.
-TRIXX IS GONNA USE HIS POWERS OMG FINALLY! A PURE KWAMI POWER. We haven't seen that since Plagg.
-Damn that was a really boss illusion trixx. But question, how was that out of control? Like if anything, that was BETTER then when the user used it.
-Trixx makes a really good point. WHY DOES HE NEED A HOLDER AGAIN?!
-OH, HE WAS LYING. EVERYTHING LOOKS F***ING BANANAS.
-Trixx is now my second favorite Kwami.
-PLAGG! MY SON! HE IS IN THE EPISODE! I MISSED HIM. Also, surprisingly knows.
-Plagg cares about other Kwami.
-Adrien just chilling, watching tv. XD

-Fragrance/Reflekta Power combo is amazing.
-Wow, this gang is MEGA DANGEROUS
-So yea Ladybug. Maybe... idk... TALK WITH CHAT NOIR ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS!?
-So they really gotta plan this time.
-Ladybug smart to disarm Ladywifi.
-Ladybug trying to get lady wifi to fight the akuma. This is touching
-SHE DID IT! ALYA BROKE FREE! LIKE A MOTHERF***ING BOSS.
-No, shadow moth, you's a b***
-Loving this Alya- Ladybug friendship
-Chat noir looking boss by fighting 3 akuma at once while on the phone. Chat noir Leveled up.
-So Ladybug can now pull the miraculous out of anywhere because she has guardian status. Thats a cool trick. Makes it much easier.
-Thats a secret tho, Alya got trusted with a big secret.
-RENA ROUGE IN THE HOUSE!
_______
-And Chat noir is captured... but in his defense. He did have to fight 4 at once this time. So that took longer than usual. So no shame kitty. You did well.
-Lucky charm is an inner tube
-Clever illusion. POINTS! Using the goal of the akuma to distract. Alya gets gull points!
-WOW! REALLY CLEVER ILLUSION.
-Ladybug suave catch of rose tho.
-So that was probably the best Group akuma attack since Heroes day (and honestly it probably tops it)
________
-Marinette patches things up with her friends. That is a relief. She was able to somewhat explain her issues up to the point. Without spilling the details.
-Marinette has some really good friends.
-Alya knows that not everything has been told... Hold on DONT TELL ME.
-Oh wow, Marinette is breaking down.... My poor baby girl is hurting real bad.
-OH S*** SHE SAID IT! SHE TOLD HER! SHE TOLD ALYA!
____________________________________________________________
wow this episode... This one hurt. This one hurt a LOT. But also, it was really good.
Okay so, 10/10.
I haven't been this enthralled with an episode in a long time.
Are there one or two nitpicks? Absolutely.
Do I wish somethings were not mentioned? A little bit.
Am I glad Alya knows? Out of everyone, she is the second person I wanted Marinette to tell.
(The first one being chat noir, but lets face it, we kind of knew that won't be happening for a while.)
So can Alya salt stop now? Cause Alya CLEARLY showed how much of a motherf***ing boss she is.
But damn I didn't feel this emotional since Chat blanc.
I DONT EVEN CARE THAT THE AKUMA WERE REPEATS.
That was OBJECTIVELY, one of the best episodes in the entire series.
This made me rethink my favorite episode. THATS HOW GOOD IT WAS.
Season 4, You keep doing what you are doing. Your writing (minus some very minor nitpicks) has been pretty damn good.

Too Much–Zac Efron
Tumblr media
Zac and I have been dating for six years. Most girls would be irritated that their boyfriend they were living with hasn't proposed after six years, but I wasn't. We've always had a close relationship and a ring wouldn't change that.
Until about eight months ago.
During his Netflix special, we didn't see each other that much. As hard as it was, we made it work. When he came back, things had changed. I couldn't put my finger on it, but Zac was different. He was short with people, he never seemed to smile, and he wasn't as willing to keep a conversation going.
The press hasn't helped either. Ever since people found out about Zac's rehab and accident, they've been trying to get a picture of us or the latest scoop on our relationship. Over time, it's put some strain on us.
I was at home, folding laundry when something on the tv caught my attention.
"Is there trouble in paradise? Could Hollywood's Favorite Couple be headed for trouble? After the break, we'll talk about the Efron Affair."
I rolled my eyes, angrily scoffing as I turned off the tv. I tossed the remote onto the bed and grabbed my purse. I headed to the store, my anger still radiating as I went through the aisles.
Everywhere I went, people were whispering. I saw a few magazine covers that hinted at the alleged affair. From what I could tell, rumors are going around that Zac cheated on me with his costar.
I ignored the looks as I checked out and headed back to our apartment. As soon as I parked outside our townhouse, my car was surrounded. My breath got stuck in my throat as I saw the cameras and the people. I carefully opened my door, not bothering to grab the groceries. I tried to walk inside, but I kept getting stopped.
"Y/N, is it true about the affair?"
"Y/N, are you still with Zac?"
"Why haven't you broken up with him?"
"Do you hate him?"
The more questions that were shouted at me, the more lightheaded I got. I was about to walk away when a reporter grabbed my hand.
"Zac cheated on you," he said, getting in my face. "What are you going to do about it?"
"He didn't cheat on me," I shot back. "It's just a stupid rumor you morons spread because you don't have anything better to do with your lives."
I ripped my hand out of his and stormed back into our place. I closed the door behind me, instantly locking it. I leaned my back against it, a sob getting stuck in my throat.
I struggled to calm myself down, only able to when I heard the news vans pulling away. I kicked off the door right as my phone started ringing. My breath got caught in my throat when I saw it was Zac calling.
"Hey," I answered.
"Hey, babe," he said, sounding strange.
"You okay?" I asked.
"I have to warn you," he sighed.
"About?"
"There's this stupid rumor going around about me cheating on you, but I swear it's not true. I would never cheat on you, baby. The woman in charge of the press for my new movie thought it would be a smart idea to start a dumbass rumor. I'm so sorry, darling."
"It's okay," I said, sitting down on the couch. "I umm. . . I ran into a couple of rumor spreaders after I got home from the store today."
"What?" He asked through his teeth.
"Yeah," I cleared my throat. "They cornered me at the car and wouldn't let me in the house. They kept yelling at me, asking what I was going to do about the affair."
"Oh baby," he sighed. "I'm so sorry. I hate that people never care about what happens to the non-famous partner in the relationship."
"Yeah," I scoffed. "How unfortunate."
"Y/N, I didn't mean. . ." he stuttered.
"It's fine," I cut him off. "Look, I gotta go. I left the groceries in the car when I got ambushed. I should really get them now that those leeches are gone."
"Y/N, are you sure you're okay? I know the rumor is. . ."
"Zac," I said harshly, cutting him off again. My voice broke as I finally said what I've been thinking for a while now. "This is getting to be too much."
"Wait," Zac cut me off, "Y/N, what do you mean? What's getting too much?"
I held my breath, tears returning to my eyes. I bit my lip, knowing that if I say this, it most definitely will change things.
"All of this," I finally confessed. "I'm getting tired of the distance, the rumors, the press. It's getting too much for me, Zac."
"Y/N, wait. . ."
"I'm sorry," I quickly hung up before he could say anything else.
                                * * * * *
After I hung up with Zac, I quickly walked up to our room and started packing a bag. I called my married friend and told her everything. She didn't hesitate to offer their spare bedroom for me to rethink my relationship in.
I grabbed my bag and my phone and headed out the door. The second I opened the door, my heart dropped into my throat when I saw an out-of-breath Zac on our doorstep. He glanced down at the bag in my hand, the look on his face sinking as he looked back up at me.
"Baby, don't go."
"I can't do this," I stuttered. I held my breath as Zac slowly walked up the steps until he got right in front of me.
"Y/N," he whispered as he looked down at me. "Please, let's talk about this."
"There's nothing to talk about," I said, my voice barely audible. "This is getting to be too much. I mean. . ."
As if on a perfectly horrible queue, a van full of paparazzi pulled up. I heard Zac swear under his breath as he quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me back into the house. I let go of his hand and walked over to the couch—not sitting down—as Zac closed the door, instantly locking it, and closed the curtains.
I quickly looked away from him as he turned around. He took a step towards me, but I took a step back.
"Y/N," he said, his voice getting caught in his throat.
"I know we talked about all of these possibilities when we first started dating, but things have changed so much," I started before he could get another word out. "And I don't think I can handle it anymore, Zac. I mean, rumors are constantly being spread about us. I can't go to the store without being bombarded by people asking way too revealing questions about us. Plus, I feel like we barely see each other anymore. And I can't do that. I can't have a relationship where I get your answering machine more than I get you. It's frustrating and painful and exhausting. And I can't do it anymore, Zac. I just can't."
By the time I finished, tears were streaming down my face. As soon as I finished, a sob got caught in my throat. Without hesitation, Zac took one swift step towards me and wrapped me tightly in his arms.
I continued to sob into his chest as he tightened his arms around me and leaned his head on mine. I started to slowly calm down when I felt him start scratching my back.
"I'm so sorry," he whispered, finally breaking the silence. "But if it's any consolation, I don't think I can do this anymore either."
"You can't?" I asked under my breath as I slowly pulled out of his embrace.
He sighed, smiling sweetly at me as he grabbed my hand, instantly intertwining our fingers. I chewed on the inside of my cheek as he led me over to our couch; the same couch we've spent countless hours at night staying up late to talk about random things, amongst doing other things.
"The distance is rough," he laughed dryly, "I'm not going to sugar coat it. I don't sleep much when I'm out of town because I can't sleep without you next to me. Half the time when the director yells cut, I find myself searching the room for you. And whenever I can't find you, part of me. . . I miss you, Y/N. Every day, baby."
Silence fell between the two of us as we stared into each other's eyes. I held my breath as Zac reached up and cupped my cheek in his hand, catching a tear with his thumb. After lingering for a few beats, his hand finally dropped back into his lap.
"So, what do we do?" I asked under my breath.
"I don't want to give up on us," he said instantly. "I know it's going to take a lot of work to go back to how we were, but I'm willing to do it."
"Zac," I said, my voice breaking.
"I will do anything to keep you in my life, Y/N," he continued. "I love you, darling, and I can't imagine my life without you. Please tell me you think we can work this out. Because if you don't. . . I'll fix it. I will fix everything, baby. Whatever it takes to keep you in my life."
I chewed on my bottom lip, struggling to find my voice. It felt like a million thoughts went through my head as I studied the face of the man I'm in love with. It was instantly clear that I never stopped.
"I don't want to break up," I finally said. My cheeks burned when I saw the relief in his eyes. While keeping my hand in his, he reached over with his free hand and grabbed my other hand.
"That makes me so incredibly happy, darling."
"But I can't keep going on like this," I continued. "I'm willing to work through things but I can't be the only one. I understand that your job takes you away at times and it feels wrong to ask you to stop filming but. . ."
"I could meet you halfway," he said quickly. "Or more than halfway if that shows you just how much I love you. I would give up anything and everything to keep you in my life, Y/N. Please, let me show you just how hard I'll fight for us. You won't have to do anything."
"It doesn't just have to be you," I said, a small smile on my face.
"Yes, it does," he instantly corrected me. "I'm the one who's been getting on an airplane at 3 in the morning. I'm the one whose career causes tension. I'm the reason you're followed by the paparazzi. I'm the reason for everything."
I cut him off by leaning over and pressing my lips to his. I let out a small moan as Zac instantly deepened the kiss. The longer we kissed, the faster it got. I giggled, slightly breaking the kiss when Zac grabbed my thighs and brought me over to his lap.
I reached up and ran my fingers through his hair. We moaned as he started massaging my ass. I tilted my head back, squeezing my eyes closed tighter as Zac broke the kiss and started kissing my neck.
"Zac," I moaned, making him pull his lips away from my neck.
"I will do anything to get you to stay, baby," he said between his heavy breaths. "Please, don't leave me."
I reached up, gently grabbing his face in both of my hands. "I'm not going anywhere," I whispered.
"I love you so much, darling."
"I love you too."

Pairing: Doctor/Neighbor!Dean x reader
Masterlist
Word Count: 5,600ish
Warnings: language, bad parenting, past child abuse, violence, blackmail
A/N: Parts of this series are told from two different POV’s. Dean’s POV are written from limited third person. Reader’s POV are second person (like a typical reader insert). Enjoy!…
_________
Reader’s POV
Two Days Later
“We’re here!” called Dean as you followed him inside of his friend’s Donna and Benny’s house. Sam helped Toast navigate the cluster of shoes by the door as Tessa stepped in.
“About time you Winchesters got here,” said a man poking his head out from down a hall. “Hey, somebody’s looking better.”
“Are you that firefighter?” asked Tessa.
“At your service,” he said as he walked over. “Benjamin Laffetite. My friends call me Benny.”
“Aw, he is like a big teddy bear, Dean,” you said. Benny gave Dean a side eye but smiled. “Nice to meet you in person. We missed you at the last party Dean had.”
“Likewise. Me and the missus were out of town. Come on ladies. Let these two handle the bags,” he said as Toast ran up and sniffed him. “Well aren’t you adorable? What’s your name?”
“Toast. He’s my service dog. Kinda,” said Tessa.
“We’ll save him a slice of turkey,” said Benny as he pet him. “Hey you single kid?”
“Benny,” said Dean with a sigh.
“Jack’s here,” said Benny before he turned the two of you. “He’s our buddy Cas’ little cousin. 18. Freshman at Elmdale. He’s got that whole sweetly naive innocent thing going on for him.”
“Benny!” said a young looking guy in a hoodie standing at the entrance to the kitchen.
“Speak of the devil. Hey, Jackie, come say hi to this chick out of your league. Give you some practice talking to girls,” said Benny with a smirk.
“Hi. He’s an ass,” said Jack before Toast wandered over to him. “This your dog?”
“Yeah,” she said as Toast started to lick him. “He likes you.”
She gave you a look and you waved for her to take off, Benny chuckling to himself.
“Always gotta harass the kids, don’t you, Benny,” said Dean. The boys exchanged quick hugs and Benny let out a big laugh.
“Well since Sammy got big enough to beat me up I had to pick easier targets,” said Benny. He gave you a smile and threw his arm over your shoulders. “I got this one boys.”
“Benny…” said Dean as Benny walked off with you. “Play nice.”
“Don’t I always?” he said. He showed you into a kitchen and stopped next to a blonde working over the stove. “Y/N this is my lovely gal, Donna. Deano set us up a few years back.”
“Oh you’re adorable,” she said, ditching a spoon in a pot before giving you a big hug.
“She’s a hugger,” said Benny as he took over the stove.
“We haven’t seen Dean in months. We were starting to think he fell off the face of the earth,” she said.
“Sorry. We uh, we’ve been busy with a lot lately,” you said, getting an eye roll from her.
“Don’t apologize. He is head over heels for you,” she said. “But I will fuck you up if you hurt him, okay?”
“Permission granted,” you said.
“Donna, she’s almost kicked ass for me before,” said Dean as he and Sam carried in two casserole dishes.
“Then she doesn’t have to worry, does she? So you a beer or wine kinda gal?” she asked.
“She likes bourbon,” said Cas as he walked in with a plate full of bugles held strangely close to his face.
“Why are you so weird buddy?” chuckled Dean, slapping Cas on the back. “Everybody else knows Y/N and Tessa for the most part.”
“I’ll take a beer for now,” you said. You followed Dean into the garage and grabbed a bottle from the cooler, a goofy smile crossing his face. “What?”
“I’m really happy you’re here is all,” he said. You set the beer down on the cooler and wrapped your arms over his shoulders, smiling back at him.
“I really like when you’re happy.” He blushed a little as your nose grazed his. His eyes kept lock with yours though and you smiled as you saw the creases near them from his own. “I think I might be falling for you or something Winchester.”
“Fancy that. I could say the exact same,” he said. “The deranged woman shouting toast in the neighborhood.”
“The man who fell on his ass on my front porch,” you said. He giggled and you immediately kissed him, Dean pulling you flush against himself. “That just might be the best sound I’ve ever heard in my life.”
He grinned and you both heard the door open, Tessa coming out and digging around in a cooler for a soda. She looked a little tired as you picked up your and Dean’s beers, Dean ruffling her head slightly. She shut her eyes and you both smiled.
“You’re still recovering. Take it easy if you need to,” he said.
“I know,” she hummed. She straightened up when Jack came out to get a drink, Tessa ducking back inside where it was warmer.
“Jack,” said Dean with a whistle. “Why don’t you and Tessa go sit down and watch some football? Something easy going.”
“She likes football?” he asked.
“She got sick a few days ago and needs some rest is all,” you said. “But you don’t have to-”
“No that’s totally cool,” he said with a smile.
“She is out of your league, Jack. Also in highschool,” said Dean. Jack held up his hands and Dean chuckled as he walked out. “Don’t worry about him. He’s the sweetest kid I’ve ever met.”
“Cas always brags about him. I figured he wouldn’t be like, an asshole,” you said. “So he’s like Cas’ nephew, right?”
“Technically, yes. Legally, he’s his kid. Cas’ whole family is full of nutjobs. Jack’s dad isn’t a great guy. Cas took custody of Jack about two years ago.”
“You ever talk to him about...taking charge before you’re ready?”
“Cas was twenty nine with a very good job and house and security and Jack was seventeen. They’re more like brothers I guess. Cas is one of my best friends but he doesn’t...get it. His parents help a lot. I know you know the difference.”
“I do,” you said. You gave him another kiss and slipped back inside with him, a woman you didn’t recognize giving you a smile as she popped into the garage. “You know her?”
“Must be a friend of Donna’s,” he said as he took your hand. “You’re all chilly. Let’s get you warmed up, sweetheart.”
“I’m officially stuffed,” said Dean that night back at home after his fifth slice of pie that day. He was in his onesie and you’d slipped into your gray one, Dean hopping over the back of the couch and pulling you into his side.
Tessa hummed as she skipped downstairs sporting a pink and white one, Sam sighing loudly as Toast trotted down the steps.
“Sammy, you look cute!” called Tessa. She sounded a little too pleased with herself and Dean gave her a fist bump just as Sam walked around the corner. His was black and he had the hood up, a pout on his face.
“Aw, he’s adorable,” you said.
“I hate you. All of you,” said Sam as he stretched out on the other end of the wrap around.
“Sam, share,” said Tessa. He smirked and flipped her as he pulled her down, Tessa yelping but letting out a few giggles. He sat back and she leaned back against him, leaving enough room for Toast to use his pillow on the floor to hop up onto the end.
“Alright, now that everyone’s settled, let’s watch some football,” said Dean.
About an hour later Tessa was passed out on top of Sam, Sam breathing softly as he slept as well. You looked at Dean to find he was watching them too, a silly look on his face.
“We should do onesies for Christmas Eve too,” you said.
“Definitely. This was the best thanksgiving I think Sammy and me have ever had.”
“Really?”
“I got my girl. I got my little sis and brother. Got my dog. Sammy really liked that Eileen girl he met today. This is definitely up there as one of the best days ever,” he said.
“You know how earlier I said I was falling for you?” you smirked.
“Oh yes. That was a highlight of the day,” he chuckled quietly.
“Looking over at those two, this is the first time she’s not cried on a holiday in years. She had a really good day and I don’t feel like I’m fucking this up as much as I was anymore and I know it’s because of you.”
“Oh I’m doing this all for entirely selfish reasons,” he said, kissing the tip of your nose. “Very selfish.”
“Oh yeah?” you asked, resting your head on his shoulder with a smile.
“I’ve only ever let one person in, all that way down to the shit deep down there. I love my friends and I’d do anything for them. I’d give ‘em a kidney if they needed it. But it was only ever Sam my whole life that got all the way in. Lately though, there’s this girl and she’s making me rethink some things and for the first time in my life, I let somebody else in and it feels terrifying but I’m happy in a way I didn’t think I’d have. She’s making me a better person and I feel so good and I am going to keep being incredibly selfish about that.”
He tilted his head down as you leaned up, meeting him for a kiss. It was soft and lingered, Dean cupping your cheek. You moved and he went with it, slow and lazy, laying back and enjoying a playful game. Something swelled up inside of you and burst open, a moment of pause as you took a breath. Tears prickled the corners of your eyes and you tried to look away before Dean saw but he was still holding your face, big green eyes locking onto yours.
“What’s wrong?” he asked quietly, wiping away the sticky droplets.
“Nothing,” you said, shaking your head. “I’m happy. I’m so happy right now I don’t understand.”
“You let me in,” he said gently. “Way down you let me in just now, didn’t you.”
“I don’t understand why I’m crying,” you said.
“Because the last people you let in there, it broke your heart when you lost them,” he said. “Don’t be scared of losing me. I’m not going anywhere.”
You nodded and put your palm against his chest, Dean wiping off your face. His heart thumped along evenly, strong and steady. He nodded and he turned off the TV, carrying you up to bed. He sat you down and lay down beside you, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
“You okay?” he asked.
“Not really,” you said. He propped himself up on his elbow and you rolled over to meet him.
“Sweetheart you can’t go around living scared of people dying on you. It’s-”
“It’s not that,” you said. “I just...can I ask an unaskable favor?”
“What?”
“If something happened to me, would you help take care of Tessa, until she’s ready to be on her own?” you asked.
“Why do you think something-”
“Dean could you just…” you said before he nodded.
“If anything ever happened, Tessa will always have us,” he said. “I swear.”
“Thank you.”
“Don’t have to thank me for that,” he said. He stroked your cheek again and offered a soft smile. “Is there something you’re not telling me sweetheart?”
“The last boyfriend I had I was twenty three. I’d been with him for three years. I thought he was gonna be the one, you know?”
“What happened?” he asked quietly, still tracing over your skin.
“He moved away after school for a job. It was working until it wasn’t. It was amicable. I still...never quite got over him I suppose. After the accident, he reached out to make sure I was doing okay. I really wasn’t but he was coming into town to see his parents anyways so he stopped over. I thought he cared, maybe I could let the wall down a little and it’d be okay. But he was so rude to her. She was in a real bad place at first and he just...was a dick and I got over him like that for good. But you, and Sam, I feel like, you’re the kind of the people that...if I dropped dead this second you’d be over her house ten years from now helping her put up a shelf or you’d take her out for drinks or something and the fact that she has people she can depend on and I don’t have to worry about her as much...it just kinda hit me tonight, you know?”
“I do. You have people you can depend on too,” he said. You leaned over and kissed him, Dean sliding his hand to the back of your head. “It gets easier. I promise it does.”
“I know,” you said.
“Let’s have a little quiet day at home tomorrow. Maybe we can put up the tree,” he said. “That sound fun?”
“Sounds perfect Dean.”
Two Weeks Later
“Tessa,” you said as she zipped up her winter jacket in the foyer.
“Y/N. I’m going over Jack’s to play video games, I swear,” she said. “I’m pretty sure Cas and Kelly will be home anyways.”
“Your shirt’s on backwards, doofus,” teased Dean from the couch. She huffed and took off her jacket, fixing it as Sam jogged down the stairs in a suit.
“Hot date tonight, Sammy?” she teased.
“At least I know how to dress myself,” he shot back. “Ready to go?”
“Mhm,” she said. She put her jacket back on and hooked up Toast’s leash the two of them heading out.
“You think she’s actually going over to play video games or make out with him?” asked Dean.
“Both?” you laughed.
“Not bad plans if I say so myself,” he said, pulling you into his lap. The doorbell rang and he groaned. “Stay put. We have a makeout session to get to.”
He hopped up and went over to the door, immediately shutting it.
“Something wrong?” you asked as he walked back. He shook his head, the doorbell ringing again, you got up and went to the door, hearing Sam talking loudly outside with someone. You peeked the door open and saw a man on the front porch, Sam rolling his eyes and walking away from a woman. He got in the car and drove off with Tessa, the man giving you a look. “Can I help you?”
“We’d like to speak to Dean,” he said.
“Who are you?” you asked.
“His father,” he said, pushing the door open wide. “Who are you?”
“His girlfriend,” you said, stepping in front of him with crossed arms. “I don’t recall inviting you into my home.”
“Leave. Both of you,” said Dean as they both stepped into the foyer. “I said-”
“We want to speak to you. In private,” he said.
“I don’t think-” you got out before he got in your face and glared down at you. You swallowed. He was as big as Dean but there was something off to him.
“Dean. Private,” said his father.
“Y/N, go upstairs. Please,” said Dean. You sighed but went up, hanging around the balcony to try and overhear them in the family room below. “What the fuck are you two shitheads doing at my house?”
There was a thud and you froze, listening for more.
“You’re a real piece of work, you know that?” said Dean, his voice slightly off.
“You know how this works.”
“Why don’t you get a job lazy ass? Oh wait. You get fired for being drunk at yours?” said Dean. There was another thud and you took out your phone, trying to record whatever was going on. “Oh punching. Very mature of…” said Dean before he gasped and made a whining sound.
“You know how this goes. She calls and you pay. Now pay or we’ll tell Sam the truth.”
“That you’re a sack of shit? He already-” said Dean before he went quiet.
“Have the money tomorrow by noon at the locker or else Sammy’s gonna drop you like the sack of shit you are, Dean. He’s gonna hate you for taking him from us and you know it.”
“I saved his-”
“No, no Dean. You were pathetic and couldn’t stand the thought of being alone so you took Sam. You pay us every few years. That’s the deal for us staying away. If you go back on your word now, we’ll go back on ours.”
“I’m done with you blackmailing me for-” said Dean before there was another thud.
“I’m done with you thinking you’re better than us. You’re nothing, understand boy?” he said. You went over to the hall closet and grabbed a baseball bat, walking downstairs to catch John staring down at the floor, Dean sat back against the wall holding his side.
“Get the fuck out of my house,” you said, gripping the bat tightly.
“Noon, Dean,” he said. He walked out with Mary on his tail. You quickly locked up and rushed over to Dean who had his eyes shut and was sporting a few bruises on his face.
“Jesus Dean,” you said. You moved his hand and saw a bruise on his ribs, Dean holding up a hand when you tried to move him.
“Give me a second,” he said. You picked up the bat and he caught your wrist, shaking his head. “He doesn’t have any problem hitting a woman, Y/N.”
“I should be calling the cops,” you said.
“Y/N,” he said when you tried to tug away. “Please don’t.”
You put down the bat and he dropped your hand. You cupped his cheeks and he winced.
“I need to take you to the hospital,” you said. He shook his head and you shook it right back. “Dean.”
“Help me over to the counter,” he said. You hooked an arm under his and got him up, walking him over to one of the stools. You sat him down, Dean inhaling sharply. You got out the first aid kit from the cabinet and set it down, taking a kitchen towel and wetting it before you dabbed it against this cheek. It soaked up a little blood and you frowned, Dean looking away.
“Dean I recorded the whole thing on my phone. It’s still going on the stairs. We gotta call-“
“Y/N. Just…don’t.” He started to grab the bag and stand when you scoffed. “I can handle this.”
He got up and started to walk, slowing down after a moment and holding his side again. He stopped by the back of the couch and dropped his head. You sighed and took the bag from him, throwing his arm over your shoulders and walking him upstairs, grabbing your phone along the way. You walked him into the bathroom and he sat up on the counter, leaning back against the wall with a wince.
You helped him out of his shirt and saw the bruise was darkening over his ribs, Dean shutting his eyes.
“Hand me your little mirror,” he said, pointing over to your vanity. You picked it up off the counter, Dean holding it up and looking at his face. “Alright. Can you get me-”
“Stop. I got this.” You used a washcloth and got it wet again, holding it against his cheek and around his eye. He tried looking down but kept moving his head and you settled on putting some more cold water on the towel, pressing it over his skin again. When it seemed like the bleeding had stopped you dug out some medication, dabbing it over the cuts. He was quiet, holding his side while you put a butterfly bandage over his cheek. You peeled his hand away and figured there wasn’t much you could do for his ribs.
You went downstairs and got some painkillers and an ice pack, returning to Dean right where you left him.
“Here,” you said, dropping the pills in his hand. He took them with a quick gulp of water, hissing as the cold touched his skin but he soon relaxed. You held the pack for him, Dean taking a deep breath. “You okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“Dean. Your dad just-”
“This is not the first time and it probably won’t be the last,” he said.
“Now I’m definitely calling the cops,” you said. You reached for your phone but he grabbed it first, holding it over his head. “Dean. He hurt you. He can’t just come into our house and do that.”
“What I need you to do is take my debit card, go to the ATM and take out five thousand from my savings and five thousand from checking. Hundreds is fine. Okay?” he said. “The PIN is-”
“I’m not doing anything other than putting you in bed,” you said. He glared and you gave it right back. You grabbed his arm and pushed him into the room and over to the bed, Dean laying back against the headboard reluctantly. “Why on earth do you-”
“It’s how I got Sam,” he said. “Custody of him when I was eighteen. We didn’t go to court. I paid them off. It was five grand at first and it tied them over for a bit but when he turned eighteen, they called and wanted more. Every three years they call. Last time it got bumped up to ten thousand. They called around the time I met you and I didn’t pay this year hence the ass kicking.”
“But why do you still pay them off?” you asked.
“Because Y/N,” he said. You crossed your arms and he slammed his fist against his pillow. “Because Sam was the favorite. He didn’t get the shit kicked…”
Dean trailed off and shut his mouth, looking away. You sat up next to him, holding his free hand and holding him as best you could.
“I got the worst of it but that’s not to say Sam didn’t get some. I knew, I knew that fucker would hurt him once I was gone and I couldn’t stay so Sam had to come with me. I tried looking up how to get custody and that sort of thing and they found out about it,” said Dean. He laughed and you ran your hand through his hair. “Tonight? That was nothing compared to what happened after they found out. But my drunk of a father, well, he owed money and I had some saved up from working for my Uncle Bobby. So I paid to get Sam the fuck out of there. They claimed it was because they were going to travel and wanted Sam to be able to stay in school and shit. It was all shit. Now...now they tried their best to make him hate me on the way out, make it seem like I was stealing him from them. Plant those little seeds. You can’t kill an idea once it’s in there. So I did what I had to and I keep doing what I have to and they stay away from us. It’s how it goes.”
“Do you...do you pay them not to hurt you?” you asked.
“No.”
“Then what’s it for?”
“He will hate me if he knows the truth.”
“Dean he won’t-”
“Our parents fucked us up. I literally bought custody of my baby brother. How is that not fucked up?”
“It’s a fucked up situation. You though, you are not fucked up,” you said as he rolled his eyes. “I’m serious. Your father is...a monster and I don’t know what the fuck is up with your mom but you are good. Sam is good. You have the biggest fucking heart of anyone I’ve ever known. Sam would never hate you for getting him out of that situation. Never. But I don’t understand why you keep paying them money, Dean.”
“So they don’t tell him the truth.”
“The truth doesn’t sound all that bad though. He-”
“If he finds out I’ve lied to him for half of his life, he will not forgive me for that. We tell each other all our crap because we’re the only ones that can understand what went on in that house and I can’t risk losing him.”
“There’s more to it,” you said. Dean shut his eyes and nodded. “Dean, what is it?”
“I stole money,” he said. “When I was eighteen. We needed food and rich people don’t notice when twenty, fifty bucks goes missing out of a drawer. If you just take a little, they don’t notice. Well, my father found out about it and threatened to have me arrested if we didn’t come to some kind of payment plan. He was proof and I don’t deny I did it. We needed-”
“You stole from my dad,” you said.
“I did. Money out of his desk drawer at work. He caught me red handed and in one second I thought my life and Sam’s lives were over. I just...started crying and he shut the door and he gave me some money and he took the rest of the afternoon off and we got some stuff like clothes and toothpaste and food and he gave me a job as a paralegal intern. I had no fucking idea what I was doing and he helped me get into school and I worked there and made way more than I did in the mailroom and he’d have dinner with Sammy and me at our place once a month. You have no idea how badly I wanted him to my dad. But we knew he had a real family so we tried not to bother him. By the time I got into med school, Sam was going into his first year and we were on our feet. I’d gotten a good job at a medical place but he checked in every once in a while. I didn’t know he’d died until I met you. I always thought we’d take him out and repay him someday. If he wasn’t kind that day...I’d have nothing.”
“I’ll share my father with you and Sam any day.” He smiled and you kissed him, Dean starting to relax. “So your dad has proof of you stealing money? How much?”
“I wasn’t particularly great at it. Sam and I both had jobs. It was probably a hundred bucks,” he said.
“How’d he get proof?” you asked.
“What do you mean?”
“How would he have proof of you stealing from some random person?” you asked.
“He has photos,” he said. “He showed me.”
“Photos of…”
“Me with the money.”
“Outside of someone’s house?” you asked.
“I was in my car,” he said.
“Dean. Where was the car?”
“Outside...work,” he said, thinking to himself. “Your dad...he gave me money that day. There was never any proof. I just let him manipulate me again into doing what he wanted.”
“How much did you steal Dean. Altogether?”
“A few hundred bucks?”
“You donate some money to charity?” you asked as he nodded. “Your debt to society has been repaid, trust me. No more feeling guilty. Plus when my dad the lawyer lets you off the hook, it’s fine.”
“Sam still can’t know.”
“Sam’s been outside the door for most of this conversation,” he said. He turned around the corner, Tessa there with him. “Fuck, Dean. What happened to your face?”
“Are you okay?” Tessa asked, climbing up on the bed.
“I thought you had a hot date,” he said. “The both of you.”
“Jack’s just a friend,” she said.
“Eileen understands,” said Sam. “Besides, we both got a bad feeling after mom and dad showed up like that.”
“You really thought it was appropriate for an 18 year old to hear all that?” asked Dean.
“Considering all the shit I just learned about you at 18, I’d say I’m good,” said Tessa. She fidgeted a little and Dean sat up more.
“You can hug him. Carefully,” you said. She moved up to his other side and gave him a gentle one, Dean chuckling.
“I love you too, dork,” he said. He watched with a swallow as Sam stepped inside and moved the icepack from Dean’s body. Dean stared up and Sam sat on the edge of the bed, placing the pack back. “I’m-”
“You have nothing to apologize for. Nothing,” said Sam. “You protected me and that’s all there was to it. Everytime she calls, talking to her tonight, I still get manipulated too. I don’t know why they hate us so much and it’s wrong but you aren’t. Not you.”
“Y/N’s offered up their parents if we’d like to take ‘em,” said Dean.
“Mr. Y/L/N was your guys dad?” said Sam as you and Tessa nodded. “You know I met you once Tessa. You must have been five. You were bragging about something to do with kindergarten.”
“How’d you remember that?” she asked.
“Cause I was so fucking jealous of you. You were so happy,” he said. She looked down but Sam laughed. “It worked out how it was supposed to.”
“You’re a lawyer, can’t you like, do something?” she said, glancing at Dean.
“Tessa, this isn’t that simple,” said Dean.
“Yeah, it is,” she said. He nodded and she relaxed some. “I don’t think you should pay anything. He should pay you while he’s at it.”
“Yeah,” he said, ruffling her head and wrapping his arm around her. He looked at Sam and then you before you nodded. He wouldn’t say anything about his father. Sam was grown and bigger than himself yet Dean still kept paying. With you and Tessa around, there was no way he was risking a thing.
“Sam,” you said. You both got up, Dean pouting when he realized he wasn’t getting up without some help. You walked down to Sam’s room and he shut the door, crossing his arms. “We can’t let him keep paying off your father. Tessa has a point. You’re a lawyer. What are our options?”
“There’s not blackmail evidence and our parents would claim it was a gift. The only things I can think of that we’d have a shot would be the incident tonight which he’d be out on bail like that anyways and...stuff that happened when we were kids.”
“Sam he came to our house.”
“I know,” he said, rubbing your arms. “Dean always gets quiet for a few days after something like this happens. Nobody is paying anything. I’ll make sure Dean doesn’t leave the house tomorrow morning.”
“What do you think John would do? Will do?”
“I don’t know. He’s an abusive dick, not a psychopath.”
“Did you ever tell my dad about this stuff?”
“Dean did a bit I think.”
“Good,” you said as you left the room.
“Why good?”
“Because if I know my dad, he made a note of it and put it on record with a judge,” you said as you headed downstairs.
“Y/N,” said Dean from the end of the hall, leaning on Tessa. “Where are you going?”
“To see if dad ever reported John. Or at least kept a file on him. We still know the partners at his old firm. I’ll be back in an hour,” you said. “Two tops.”
“Sam go with her,” said Dean. “Please.”
“Tessa, put him back in bed and get him a fresh icepack in fifteen minutes. Get some food too, okay?” you said, tugging on your winter coat. “Oh and take Toast-”
“I got it,” she said.
“We’ll be back soon,” said Sam. “Hopefully with some good news.”

Julie and the Phantoms Masterlist
✰ ✰ ✰ ✰ ✰
The third Thursday of every month belonged to your mother. It was her day, when she demanded not to be bothered, when she spent hours out of the house socializing with the women’s group that she belonged to. And, out of all those Thursdays, there were always the very special few when it wasn’t her leaving the house but everyone else. The group rotated their meeting time, everyone for a blue moon meeting at your house, meaning, of course that you were expected to stay out. Staying out was not a difficult thing to do, in fact you relished the opportunity to spend a few more hours with your friends.
It was one of those Thursdays, when all the ladies that your mother loved to lunch with were spending the afternoon at your house and you were making yourself scarce, that arguably the weirdest but maybe best thing happened. Your mom had told you before you left for school that morning that she expected you to stay out, and you would have, if you had remembered your wallet. But you’d left it in your room, on the edge of the vanity, and you didn’t want to be the one owing money when your friends went to lunch. A quick stop home should’ve been easy, the stairs were right off the kitchen and the side door was right there, giving you the opportunity to shoot upstairs and grab your wallet without her being the wiser to it.
The whole thing would’ve gone off without a hitch except that when you walked through the side door and into the kitchen you came face to face with four boys from your school. You recognized them more for the fact that you didn’t hang out in the same circle; most of your friends held a certain level of contempt for the four guys that made up Sunset Curve. You didn’t necessarily dislike any of them, you didn’t necessarily even know them, though you would be lying if you said that the lead singer, who occasionally sat in front of you in math, was seriously making you rethink a deep dive into all this rock music. Luke, Reggie, Alex, and Bobby were standing in your kitchen. They were the Green Day/Nirvana worshipping, head banging rockers that ditched school regularly and got into worlds of trouble and they were standing in your kitchen.
Bobby was the only one who looked up from snacking on leftover hors d’oeurves, saying your name in surprise as the other three all stopped to look at you too. Alex gave an awkward little wave as he set down the small sandwich he was eating.
“Uh...what are you guys doing in my house,” you asked, looking between the four of them.
“Your mom tapped us to perform for her ladies club.” Luke explained, dropping his food on the plate and wiping his hands against his black pants.
Your mom had invited these four to sing for her conservative ladies’ group? You tried not to but you couldn’t help the smile that crossed your face when you thought about it. Whatever your friends said about the guys, you weren’t ashamed to say you had taken one of the free demos that Reggie handed out and had been listening to it on repeat for a while now. “My mom wanted you guys to play a gig for her and her friends?” You clarified.
“Until we started playing,” Reggie replied, and you couldn’t help laughing.
“I bet...you guys aren’t exactly...suburban mom rock.” You joked, “though I totally would’ve loved to see their faces when you guys started singing.”
The grin on Luke’s face was unmistakable though you missed it as you nabbed one of the sandwiches on the plate near Alex. It was probably some really stupid cliche, him liking one of the popular girls. Cute, cheerleader, future prom queen. You hung out with people who listened to Britney Spears and Spice Girls, any knowledge of the rock scene they might’ve actually had was only for the sake of making dumb jabs at him or his friends. Still, Luke had a massive crush on you and he wasn’t so embarrassed to admit it. Bobby joked that he wanted to “bring you over to the dark side” and maybe that sounded cynical but he thought he wouldn’t mind seeing you look a little less perfectly put together if it had something to do with him. Hearing you mention his music almost had him doing a back flip from excitement.
“So you’ve listened to our music?” Luke asked, moving closer to you, leaning on the counter beside you. Behind him, Alex rolled his eyes.
“Reggie gave out demos like...last month.” You shrugged, trying to play it off. You’d been excited to listen to their music, see if it was any good and had discovered that you actually loved it. They were talented guys and you felt surprisingly connected to the songs. “I might’ve listened.”
“I did!” Reggie piped up, “I gave demos to all the-” he stopped, mouthing instead, as if you wouldn’t understand him when he said ‘all the cute girls’.
“I hate to ask but...don’t you think like, actual clubs would be better places to promote your music? I don’t think the middle-aged moms are really a target audience, unless you’re into that kind of thing?” You said, peering down the hallway when you heard the familiar squeak of a floorboard. If the boys were still here than there was no doubt in your mind that your mom had told them to stay for some reason or another.
“You gotta start somewhere.” Luke replied, unfazed by the hint of judgement in your voice.
“My living room?” You asked, jokingly.
He smiled, “actually, we’re playing a club on the strip tomorrow night, we could, maybe, get you on the guest list?”
“We’re opening for someone else,” Bobby cut in, bringing Luke back down to reality, “I’m pretty sure no one’s ever even heard of the band we’re opening for.”
Luke glared at Bobby, sticking his finger in his mouth and then jabbing it into Bobby’s ear, a smile of success immediately lighting up his features when Bobby recoiled in disgust. “So what’d ya say?” Luke asked.
“I mean, I guess technically every band deserves girls screaming for them, so sure…I’ll go.” You agreed, eyes on Luke the entire time.
The last concert you had been to wasn’t even for you, your mom had dragged you to a Beach Boys concert up in San Francisco for her birthday weekend when your father refused to indulge her so-called ‘terrible taste in music’. “There are just some things we will never agree on and music is one of them.” He had insisted back then. It was the same thing you felt like telling your friends when you declined a party invitation in favor of heading down to the strip to see the guys play. You could’ve maybe played it off casually, as if you were heading down there anyway and Sunset Curve just happened to be opening but Bobby was right, you’d never heard of the band that was performing after them.
Not to mention Luke decided to show up for a least a quarter of the day just to mess with your head. You had spotted him in the hallway between classes and smiled when he looked your way, a split second before the sea of students scrambled to get to their lockers. Your own best friends appeared by yours, looking more and more like carbon copies of the Heathers every day. You kind of hated them, truth be told, but you didn’t have too many other options.
They were badgering you about the party as you tried to wrack your brain for an excuse that sounded convincing when Luke stopped, right in front of the three of you.
“Hey, I’ll see ya tonight?” He asked, whole body turned to face you and completely ignoring the looks of disdain and shock cloaking your friends faces.
You felt like a deer in headlights. Say yes and your friends would probably ostracise you, say no and you could just imagine the look on Luke’s face. Anything but this absolutely sincere and hopeful smile was something you didn’t want to be responsible for. You really liked him looking at you like that.
“Yeah, can’t wait.” You nodded.
When he stepped back out into the traffic of the hallway he touched your waist, as if he was anchoring himself for a second and you bit your lip, letting yourself watch him disappear before turning to face the firing squad.
“Luke Patterson?” Both of your friends spoke in unison, one breaking off to elaborate, “you’re ditching a party at Max Turner’s house for Luke Patterson?”
“His band is playing at some club on the strip.” You replied, shutting your locker and heading toward your next class. “They invited me to come watch the show.”
“And you’re going?”
You hadn’t been to anything smaller than a stadium concert before and the implication of a concert at a local club venue, right on the strip with all the ‘riffraff’ that were hanging around trying to make it big like their 80’s punk rock idols wasn’t exactly your scene but, Luke had looked so cute asking you to go and you had the tiniest, maybe delusional, feeling that he’d come to school just to remind you that tonight was the concert. How could could even consider some suburban house party to that?
“Yeah, why not,” you shrugged, trying to play it off like it was nothing, you could see your social status flashing before your eyes and your mom’s voice desperately begging you to reconsider. “Besides, Luke’s hot.”
“Did you have some kind of Freaky Friday switch when you woke up this morning? Luke is not hot.”
“Okay,” you drew the word as if disbelieving. He wasn’t some 90210 reincarnate but he was definitely one of the hottest guys in school, not to mention the sleeveless shirts were an added bonus. “Well, I said I was going, so I’m going.”
And, despite the continued protests of your friends throughout the day, you did go. You promised your parents you were spending Friday night studying at Terri’s house and took the bus down to the strip to wait in line for Sunset Curve and whoever was headlining. You stood there twirling your fake ID in your hands, listening to the two girls in front of you (who didn’t need fakes) talk about some drummer that wasn’t anyone you’d ever heard of and tried to look as mature as possible. If Luke, Alex, Reggie, and Bobby could play this venue, surely you could get into it.
Whether the ID worked or the bouncer at the front door just didn’t care, he let you through, admitting you into a pulsing crowd of people making their way through the small vestibule and into the venue. You slipped your way through the crowd until you made it to the front, pressed against the railing and inches away from another bouncer who seemed just as disinterested in you. The drumkit that was already on the stage had the Sunset Curve logo on it. You ran a hand through your hair and fixed your shirt, maybe it was silly but you were sort of hoping that even in the silhouetted lighting of the venue you Luke might see you. Maybe a little pathetic groupie on your end but he had invited you.
And he did see you. Halfway through Now or Never when he looked down over the crowd, he caught you, dancing along to their music, the smile on your face as you mouthed the words was infectious. It was the combination of seeing someone singing all the songs back to them and that person being you, mixed with the adrenaline of the performance, that had him pushing to give his absolute all. You’d actually come and he was determined to make this a great concert for you.
Alex was the one to announce that they would be in the vestibule during the lull between bands, they got the occasional straggler who dared to leave their post long enough to say hello or great job but usually it garnered nothing more than the four of them splitting some pizza and relaxing by their merch table. Tonight, as they headed off stage to an enthusiastic crowd, Luke chanced a glance back but he couldn’t find you in the sea of people. Reggie grabbed his arm, pulling him the rest of the way off the stage and throwing an arm around his shoulder, going on about how awesome the show was, Luke quickly returning the jovial compliment.
“We were fire, man, that sounded so rad tonight!” He cheered, following Alex and Bobby as they made their way through the small hall that wove back into the vestibule.
“It was insane!” Reggie agreed.
You had made your way back through the venue after Luke mentioned being at the merch table, slipping back passed the bouncer at the inside door, flashing your stamped hand. Their table was set up in the corner, a little way away from the headlining band’s. You stepped into the vestibule at the same time as the boys, waving at Alex when he looked your way. He nodded, reaching over to tap Luke’s chest with the back of his hand.
“That was incredible.” You admitted, walking over to their table. Luke’s smile instantly widened as he walked around to your side, not even thinking as he hugged you, your shoulders hunching at the feeling of sweat that encompassed you. “Ew.”
“Sorry, sorry.” Luke apologized, pulling away and putting his hands on your upper arms for a second before dropping them to his sides. “Still going off the adrenaline.”
“That’s okay,” you promised, “you’re cute enough to get away with it.”
“Yeah?” He leaned against the table, trying to look cool. He felt like he was grasping for words and he didn’t want to start stuttering or sounding dumb, Bobby would never let him live it down if he made a fuck up of himself. The other three tried not to laugh and ruin his moment.
You seemed to recover from the moment first, glancing at the other three before landing on Luke again. “You guys are totally a live band though...like that was so good.”
Reggie came in with a save, letting Luke off the hook for a moment, “Are you heading back in to see the headliner?”
You grimaced, “don’t really know them...not really interested.” You replied, keeping your eyes on Luke, hoping that was hint enough that you’d come just to see him.
It clearly was because, as a few girls stepped into the vestibule and looked like they were coming your way, Luke grabbed your arm, nodding toward the doorway for you to follow him. You did, walking with him into the hallway so that it was quieter, the sounds of the house music and the chatter of people outside being drowned out in the small corridor.
“So, uh, sorry I’m still wigging out that you came.” He admitted.
“I said I was going to, twice. Did you seriously think I was lying?” You asked.
“I mean, I heard your friends giving you a hard time when I walked away, figured you might back out.”
“Well, I’m glad I didn’t, seriously Luke, you guys are amazing. You’re so talented.” You replied.
“Guess I was right when I told Reggie to take that book club gig huh?” He said, fiddling with the rabbit’s foot on his keychain.
“Why’s that?”
“I thought maybe if I was lucky, I’d catch a glimpse of you...having you come here and watch us though? Better than I could’ve imagined.” He replied, grinning at you.
“You wanted to see me?”
“Yeah, don’t act so surprised.” He said, “you gotta know how insanely cool you are. And you look beautiful tonight, by the way.”
“Thanks,” you bit your bottom lip to try and keep your composure, “I uh...damn, you’re making me super nervous.”
“Yeah?” He stepped a little closer to you, his hands brushing against yours as if he was going to hold them. You couldn’t help wishing he would.
“I should probably let you get back to your fans,” you pointed out, glancing back out the door to where a few more people had gathered. If you stayed in this hallway with him any longer there was no way you were letting him back out.
“Hang out? We could grab some pizza or something after?” He asked.
“Yeah, absolutely.”
When he walked back through the door you followed behind him, hanging back so you weren’t hovering around them as they chatted with and signed stuff for the group of people that had ventured out between sets. It didn’t matter though, as he talked, he kept looking back at you smiling as if you were both in on some sort of secret.

BNHA Chapter 319 Spoiler Analysis: Found Family
Holy crap what a phenomenal chapter!  This arc in general has been great, but this chapter might be one of my favorites of the arc.  Not just because it focuses on Class 1-A (I’m so glad to see the kids again), but because of the growth we see in these kids in general especially Bakugo and Shoto IMO.  Like, holy shit ESPECIALLY BAKUGO!  I stand by my opinion that Bakugo is one of the best developed characters in the series.  There’s so much I want to say about this chapter and I’ll try my best to do so if my poor injured left hand will let me 😭:
The chapter starts off with the first of 3 colored pages we’re going to get over the next few weeks to celebrate 7 YEARS OF MY HERO ACADEMIA!!!  CONGRATS, HORIKOSHI-SENSEI!!!  This series revived my love of anime/manga and really helped me in some really rough spots in my life.  I will forever be grateful towards Horikoshi for bringing this series to life and blessing us with such an incredible story full of beautiful characters.  MHA may be a little overrated, but I still think it deserves all the love it can get.
Anyway, the color page.  It shows Uraraka, Iida (who has red eyes here, so IDK why the anime gives him blue eyes though I do think they work better for him personally *shrugs*), Shoto, Tokoyami, and Bakugo after basically figuring out where Deku went.  Bakugo is shown tearing up his letter (which says something like “Thank you for being there, Kacchan”; there’s more but I can’t translate it 😭) and you can kinda see some bandage wrap around his arm where he was stabbed.  Also, both Bakugo and Shoto still have some visible injuries on their faces and Bakugo’s hands, so they’re still recovering from the War.  It’s a really pretty page in general and I can’t wait to see what the next 2 color pages are going to look like.  I also kinda want Horikoshi to take a break after this too again so he doesn’t overwork himself.  Maybe he’ll treat himself to the MHA: World Heroes Mission movie 🍿.
So, Shoto and Bakugo have figured out that Deku is most likely with Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist.  Problem is that none of them are answering their phones.  I like that Bakugo calls Best Jeanist “Pair of Denim Pants” 😂 and Shoto’s image of Endeavor is still a very angry version of his old man.  Shoto’s still making amends with his father, but he’s still not THERE yet.  Regardless, these kids are smart enough to know that something’s up.  Especially since All Might hasn’t returned to UA either.
It’s basically confirmed by Ojiro that because classes have been suspended, our Class 1-A kids are still 1-A; they haven’t moved into their second year yet.  That clears up the confusion on whether we should still refer these group of kids as 1-A still or not.
Now Bakugo’s showing how much of a genius he really is despite his personality.  Bakugo figures out that the Top 3 and All Might are working together as a group based on how they all connected with each other back at Central Hospital.  Also, Bakugo concludes that All Might snuck Deku’s letters under their doors while Deku started running.  Ultimately, Bakugo does know more about Deku and All Might more than anyone else does.  He’s been around his childhood friend and he’s admired his idol longer than most people have.  Bakugo understands how bad the situation is and he’s ready to take action.
As are the other kids.  You can see how determined they are and you can see Kirishima’s black roots coming in 🥺!  Even Uraraka gets some shine here by bringing up the idea to trick Endeavor to come via getting help from Principle Nezu as Endeavor was a UA student.  It’s really interesting to see Ochako in a more serious roll than usual, but I actually like it.  I hope she’s still as bubbly as she always was at the end of the day, but she’s definitely matured and grown a lot over the corse of the series.  Even the simple things like her hair show it as it’s not as floaty as it was before.  I love it when Horikoshi shows small details like this.  It adds to the characters and stories a lot.  Also, the art in this chapter is amazing.
And now it’s Endeavor vs. Class 1-A in a much needed conversation.  All the kids are wearing their school uniforms to make this as formal and serious as they can.  EVEN BAKUGO IS PROPERLY WEARING HIS TIE YOU KNOW SHIT’S ABOUT TO GO DOWN!!!  And, I must say, Bakugo looks damn good with a tie 😳.  You can also get a decent height measurement on the kids here if you want.  Ngl, sometimes I forget that Shoto’s about 2 inches taller than Bakugo.  It’s definitely the hair.
Shoto’s the first to step up and he scolds the hell out of his old man.  Rightfully so tbh.  Endeavor shouldn’t have ignored Shoto’s calls even though I kind of understood why.  Shoto reminds Endeavor of their plan to stop Dabi though thankfully that’s what’s pushing Endeavor forward so he hasn’t forgotten.  Shoto calls his father “Endeavor” and gets mad at him fro leaving Deku and All Might alone.  The rough translations say he called Izuku “Deku” here too btw.  Endeavor has no response.  I think this anger Shoto’s unleashing is very justified and has been burning inside him since Deku left UA.  His best friend just up and left him and his friends with nothing but a letter to kinda explain things.  Also, Shoto and the rest of 1-A (minus Bakugo) have basically been lied to for about a year.  I’d want answers too if someone did that to me.
Bakugo steps in by putting a hand on Shoto’s shoulder (🥺) to calm him down a bit and to say his piece.  Ultimately, he thinks what Deku is doing is right, but that the way they’re all doing it is wrong.  I love Deku and All Might, but they’re sacrificial idiots.  They care more about others than they probably ever will themselves.  That’s how All Might lost his OFA in the first place.  It’s because of that that All Might doesn’t have it in him to stop Deku from going down this path.  They shouldn’t have been left alone.  Someone should’ve kept a closer eye on them.  I know the Top 3 were all worried about getting too close to Deku before, but really, someone should’ve been watching them closer on the sidelines.
The next page is a really cool drawing of Endeavor flinging his phone to the kids to catch.  The previous panels showed Endeavor with this face that’s regretful and I think he realized something: That Bakugo is right and that the kids might be better off finding Deku than he is.  So he basically gives the kids his GPS on his phone.  Those are just my thoughts, but it does look like that.  I don't think Endeavor’s just going to up and give up though.  He’s probably going to start rethinking things though.
As Sero manages to catch Endeavor’s phone, he and the rest of the kids think about how even though they’ve only known Deku for a year, they still think of him as family and cannot let him go down this thorny path alone.  They’ll carry the OFA burden with him if they have to.  They can’t smile without Deku around.  These kids truly have become a family over the year.  It’s amazing to see.  Everyone’s like a brother and sister and it’s really nice to see.  I just love Found Family stories, guys 😭❤️
And really quick, I want to focus on my ❄️🔥 boy, Shoto, really quick.  As he’s thinking about Deku, he mentions how shocked he still is about Deku keeping OFA from them and how Deku thought just a letter would suffice.  He has this sad look on his face like he’s trying to say: “I still can’t believe my best friend hid this from me for so long.  Why?  Did he not trust me?”  That’s just my interpretation.  Still, I can’t imagine how upset Shoto must feel.  I think he still cares a lot about Deku enough to go out and find him, but he’s gotta feel some sort of betrayal.  More so than the other students outside of Bakugo because, again, Deku was essentially Shoto’s best and closest friend 💙😭
Endeavor is rightfully worried about letting the kids out in the state of Japan right now, but now Principle Nezu speaks up and praises the kids on growing up so well.  He’s also took into account Deku's feelings about his mission which is why he agreed to the team up.  Also, Deku’s still welcome back to UA whenever he wants thank god ☺️.  He’s a student who has to be protected.  There’s a cute panel of Uraraka and her mom crying happily after getting her acceptance letter too.  Not 100% why this is shown other than Acceptance Letter part, but it’s cute to see.  Maybe Ochako realizes how much Deku needs to be protected or something.
As for the refugees, Nezu had the security system strengthened in time for the Cultural Festival earlier, but they never used it before.  It’s call The UA Barrier.  God, how strong is this thing?  Is it strong enough to stop Shigaraki who was able to Decay the last barrier?  This seems like something that’ll be used in the final battle TBH.
So, Nezu trust the 1-A kids to bring Deku back home.  Which is exactly what they plan to do as all 19 of them enter Kamino in a badass full page.  I actually wasn’t sure if all 19 of them were there at first since I couldn’t find Shoto for the life of me, but then my eyes saw the BIG-ASS ICE WALL IN THE BACK AND I THOUGHT “OH THERE HE IS!!!” LOL 😂
The next panel actually does show Shoto with Momo as they capture the villain from the last chapter.  Momo politely calls Bakugo “Bakugo-san”, but Bakugo demands that he be called his insane hero name: “GREAT EXPLOSION MURDER GOD DYNAMIGHT”!  I CAN’T WITH THIS DUDE SOMETIMES WHY DO I LOVE HIM SO MUCH 💥🧡
Deku sees his friend and wonders why they came.  Ochako answers because that they were worried about him, but Deku tries to convince everyone (including himself) that he’s fine.  He’s obviously not and Bakugo calls TF out on him!  He even drops a good F-bomb for good measure.  Bakugo mocks Deku for trying to act like All Might and asks Deku if he can even smile right now.  I actually really like it that Bakugo’s calling Deku out on his shit.  I think Deku needs some good tough love right now to knock some sense into him.  Who would be better to do that than Katsuki Bakugo himself?
As Deku is trying to convince everyone that’s he’s fine (while still looking like a demon btw), there’s a small focus on Iida.  Actually, a few panels this chapter have focused on Iida.  Maybe he’s remembering the time Deku saved him back when they went up against Stain.  Deku saved him then so it’s now Iida’s turn to save Deku.  Also, Iida hasn’t gotten much focus lately and I really like his character, so I’m glad he’s being brought back to the forefront again.  Also, I like hearing Kaito-san’s voice in general so I’d be happy to hear him again (thanks for that one, Haikyuu).
The final spread shows Deku telling everyone to move away while Bakugo, Iida, and Ochako get ready to stop him.  IT’S DEKU VS. CLASS 1-A!!!  WE’RE ENTERING CIVIL WAR FOLKS!!!  Seriously, though, this is great.  I was thinking that it would be just Bakugo and a few other students finding Deku.  Instead we got the whole class.  And looks like that “helping hand” thing will happen later because we got a battle to fight first.
Bakugo’s become a damn fine leader and I love to see his growth every freaking time🧡! I like how Iida has his hand on Bakugo’s back to support him btw.  It’s weird that Shoto’s not in this page though.  He’s one of Deku’s best friends, so I would think he would be in this page along with Bakugo and his first 2 friends (Ochako and Iida).  Maybe Horikoshi’s saving Shoto for a more 1-on-1 conversation with Deku.  God, I hope that happens because I think along with Bakugo, Shoto deserves a good talk with Deku the most.
Honestly, I’m not sure who would win this battle.  I’ve been going through scenarios in my head on who would win, but I can’t come to a solid answer.  Class 1-A has 19 versatile Quirks under their belt and they have more energy than Deku to fight, but Deku still has 6 insanely powerful Quirks that he’s been practicing for a while.  The kids could probably win if they strategize enough and use Deku’s exhaustion against him, but again, Deku has OFA and multiple other Quirks.  If he could beat Lady Nagant, one of the best snipers around, he might be able to beat the 1-A kids.  He could just escape with Smoakscreen, Black Whip, and Float if he wants to really.  That would put 1-A on another wild goose chase.  There’s also Deku’s Danger Sense which will be a pain to deal with.  Also, Deku said that he’s as strong as All Might was in his prime with Fa-Jin and OFA combined.  Only AFO and Shigaraki were strong enough to take on THAT.  Plus, we still don’t know what the 2nd OFA Holder’s Quirk is yet.  Deku might use it in this battle.  God, I have so many theories in my head now.  I think this battle will be awesome, but ultimately, I want Deku to come home 😭💚
