Seungmin loves being an idol. 

He loves to sing and performing in front of Stays always thrills him. He loves the other members and really, everyone else that he gets a chance to work with. At times it can be stressful, but for the most part, it’s fairly easy to manage the downsides of being famous.

But when he started dating you, he found out that there are parts of being an idol that he hates.

He always thought that he'd be different from a lot of idols and wouldn't be afraid to show his partner off. The second he met you though, he knew he'd do anything and everything in his power to keep you safe. You understand, of course, and do your part to make sure that only your closest friends and family are aware of who you're dating.

It pains Seungmin to do this, but he knows nothing good can come out of your identity being known.

The two of you are more than careful, sometimes Seungmin feels silly with how cautious he is about meeting up with you. Yet somehow his heart always feels like it will beat out of his chest whenever he sees articles that speculate about idol relationships.

You do your best to stop him from stressing, but it’s something that Seungmin can't quite shake. You're the most important thing in his life, of course his biggest fear would be losing you.

The first time his phone rings during a livestream with the whole group, Seungmin brushes it off. The caller ID says it's an unknown number and everyone he knows has been receiving a lot of spam calls and texts lately. 

He swipes away the notification and tries to focus on just reading comments when the same number calls back, a couple minutes later. He ignores it again, but on the third call, he nudges Chan’s knee beside him and subtly tilts his phone screen so that Chan can see. His phone is on silent so nobody watching the live should be able to tell that he's getting the calls, but the timing feels too coincidental for him not to be suspicious. 

"They keep calling," he says under his breath. 

"We'll get someone to look into the number later, just keep ignoring it," Chan advises quietly.

Seungmin takes a quick screenshot of the number, then tries to get back into the conversation to distract himself. The next time he looks down at his phone again, someone is once again calling him.

Seungmin almost reflexively rejects the call, until he realises it's your nickname flashing up on his screen.

You generally don’t call Seungmin without warning, especially not during the day when there’s a higher chance that Seungmin won’t be able to readily answer.

sorry baby, working right now, can it wait?

His stomach drops when you just call again in response. He doesn’t want to alarm any of the members or the fans when he doesn’t know what’s going on, but he has a bad feeling about this. He once again flashes his phone to Chan briefly and leans in close.

“I want to take this, I don’t know why she’s calling, but something doesn’t seem right.”

Chan bites his lip, obviously torn for a second, before he seems to make up his mind.

“We’ve been live for almost 20 minutes, give me one second and we’ll end it so that you can talk to her, yeah?” Chan puts a hand on Seungmin’s shoulder and squeezes it tightly for a moment before clapping his hands together, effectively ending the conversation that the rest of the members were having.

Seungmin makes himself smile as they all say goodbye, but it's obvious that it's forced.

Even though the live ended as quickly as possible, Seungmin still has 2 new missed calls by the time he’s found himself an empty room to use.

"Hello?"

"Uhm hello, is this Min?" a man asks hesitantly. His voice is unfamiliar and it scares Seungmin. The only thing that brings a little bit of comfort is knowing that you’re careful to never call Seungmin by his full name when talking about him with friends or coworkers, you even have his contact information set as a nickname.

"Who is this?" he asks instead. “Where’s Y/n?”

"My name is Hyunwoo, I work with Y/n-ssi. I’m very sorry for interrupting you, but Y/n-ssi said that you were one of her emergency contacts. We tried to call with another number previously, but weren’t able to reach you."

“Sorry, I generally do not answer calls from unknown numbers. Is Y/n okay?” Seungmin swallows hard, his mouth suddenly dry. “Can I- can I please speak to her?”

“She’s just not feeling well and needs to go home. She’s resting in another room, but I can get her, one moment please.” 

There’s a bit of background noise, the sound of footsteps, murmuring, then finally, your voice.

“Minnie?” you ask, sounding groggy. “I’m sorry for bothering you, I know you were working today.”

“Hey baby, it’s okay. You don't have to worry about me. You know that you’re more important than work to me right? I’m glad you got them to call me. How are you doing?”

“I'm tired. I'm okay, just, I was feeling light-headed and have a headache so I can't work. Hyunwoo said he thinks I have a fever.”

“Okay, I’m going to pick you up and bring you home then. Just continue resting until I get there. I'll see you soon.”

Seungmin doesn’t know what he’d do without the other members. As soon as he finishes explaining the situation to them, they’re already calling a car and working out schedules so that there aren’t any problems.

Hyunwoo eyes Seungmin carefully when they first meet, likely due to the face mask and hat he's wearing. When Seungmin removes the mask and shakes Hyunwoo’s hand, he's relieved when he doesn't appear to recognise him. It's not exactly a surprise, men are generally less likely to follow k-pop groups and Seungmin hardly looks like an idol when he's barefaced and in the jeans and t-shirt that he wore for the live.

“Thank you for calling me, Hyunwoo-ssi,” Seungmin says. “Sorry I didn’t pick up at first.”

“It’s okay, Min-ssi. Y/n-ssi mentioned that your work might make you difficult to contact.” Seungmin appreciates that Hyunwoo doesn’t make any attempt to pry further.

“And thank you for taking care of Y/n.”

“It’s not a problem. Y/n-ssi is a pleasure to work with and we all want her to get better as quickly as possible. Come with me, I’ll bring you to her.”

You’re lying in a small meeting room that has all the lights off and blinds drawn. The table and chairs have all been shifted to the side to fit a yoga mat that has been laid out. You squint up at Seungmin from under a mis-match of jackets with your head resting on a pillow that matches the couches that were in the reception area of your office.

“Minnie?” Your voice is soft and a little bit confused.

“Yes, it’s me, Y/n. How’re you feeling?”

Seungmin rushes to your side, crouching on the carpet so that he can cup your cheek. Your skin is flushed and hot to the touch. You reach out a hand and he clasps it tightly with his free hand.

“Mm, I wanna go home.”

“Let’s go home then.”

The company car is still parked outside of your office building, close enough that you insist on walking yourself. Seungmin tries not to hover, but he makes sure to keep his arm looped around your waist so that you don’t stumble. The drive back to your place is fairly short, but when Seungmin glances over you’re looking unwell. Maybe it’s just the dim lighting from the backseat, but you look paler than usual and your eyes are closed.

“You feeling okay?” Seungmin asks, squeezing your hand.

“A bit nauseous,” you murmur.

“We’re almost there, just take a few deep breaths through your nose for me.”

Even though it's only a few minutes before they pull onto the street that you live on, it feels like forever. Seungmmin tries to keep you preoccupied by rubbing circles into your palm. Instead of trying to help you out of the car and into your apartment, Seungmin thanks the company driver and opts to just carry you all the way in. 

He helps to change you out of your work clothes and tucks you into your bed. You link your fingers together and protest when Seungmin attempts to leave your side.

“I promise I'll be back in a second, I just want to get some things to help you feel better, okay?” he says, pressing a kiss to your forehead. You agree, but reluctantly.

Seungmin tries to stay quiet as he rummages around your apartment, gathering some medicine, a thermometer, a glass of water, and some crackers. Next he dampens a face cloth and brings everything to your bedside table, folding up the cloth and laying it across your forehead. 

He supports you in sitting up slightly to take your temperature, brushing his fingers through your hair as you wait for enough time to pass. You lean into his touch slightly, humming in pleasure when Seungmin switches to giving you a light head massage. When the thermometer beeps, it confirms what Hyunwoo suspected, you have a low grade fever.

“You have a bit of a fever,” Seungmin tells you, keeping his voice low. “Do you feel up to having some water and medicine? It'll help you feel better, I think.”

“Okay,” you say, taking the pills that Seungmin hands you and swallowing them with a bit of water.

“Do you want to rest some more now? I want you to stay hydrated so I can make broth for you or get juice.”

“Do you have another schedule? You don't have to stay and take care of me.”

“I don't have to, I want to. And what did I say earlier? Don't worry about me. I'm not missing anything important.”

“So you are missing something,” you insist, your stubbornness making itself known. Seungmin can't help but find it endearing, especially the way that your bottom lip juts out to form a pout.

“Just vocal lessons. I already know how to sing, so it’s fine. Innie had his scheduled for tomorrow, the two of us are going to swap.”

“Oh,” you say, apparently satisfied by that.

“See, nothing to worry about. Now, what did you want? Broth or juice?”

“Broth,” you decide. “But that means you'll have to leave again. I don't want to be alone.”

Seungmin hesitates for a moment before reaching for something resting on the side of your bed.

“You won't be alone, Daengmo will keep you company, okay?”

Seungmin had gifted the stuffed dog to you the first time he had gone abroad after the two of you had started dating, even though it was only to Japan. You had insisted that he keep it at first, knowing how fond he was of the toy, but he had convinced you that it would prevent you from missing him whenever he was away.

“M'kay,” you say sleepily, wrapping your arms around Daengmo.

“You can close your eyes while I'm gone and I'll be back before you know it.”

“I'm not tired,” you say, although even in the dim lighting Seungmin can see that your eyes are starting to droop. “I'm going to stay awake until you come back.”

“Whatever you say,” Seungmin replies.

He leaves your room, closing the door behind him quietly, and heads towards the kitchen.

Seungmin prepares a couple of pots to make you soup. The first he prepares with some ingredients to make a simpler version of a ginseng chicken soup. He knows it'll take a while to cook though, so he adds water, powdered chicken broth, and ginger to the second. Within a few minutes, the clear broth is ready to serve.

Seungmin scoops a portion of it into a mug and slips an ice cube in so that you won't burn your mouth trying to drink it. He makes his way back to your room as quickly as he can, but careful to avoid the liquid sloshing over the sides.

When he eases the door open, he's greeted with the side of you with your eyes closed, clutching Daengmo tightly. Your breaths are deep and even, although you stir slightly when he sets the mug down on your nightstand.

“I'm here now," he reassures you quietly. “You just keep resting.”

“Thank you for taking care of me,” you say in a small voice.

“Of course, I’ll always be here for you.”

“I love you.”

“I love you, too.”

Na'vi mating with humans headcanons [Poly].

Hello everyone, so I must confess, I have been looking at some Avatar [NOT THE LAST AIRBENDER] 1 and 2 "the way of water" stuff. From fics, to fanart, headcanons, all that good stuff. So here I am reading all this amazing stuff and I thought, "why not put my 2 cents in it?" so while I dont have any fics, I thought I share some headcanons of my own.

Most I have noticed is using either Na'vi reader, or Human reader. And/or both if the author has their person of interesting be an avatar, being in a poly relationship with our two lovely couples: Jake & Neytiri, and/or Tonorwari & Ronal.

And, if it is not a poly relationship, it be a normal two person relationship, that being with either [Tsu-tey, Ronal, Tonowar, Jake, Neytiri, Norm, etc]. Reading all those stories I have begun to list a few things.

In this first headcanon, its going to be as the title suggest, Na'vi with human. If you guy's wish to use some of this stuff as inspiration or ideas for your future fic's, I am cool with it, but please credit me. Anywho, lets start.

Olo'eyktan & Tsahik

(btw this is for any Na'vi tribe in general not just for Tonowari and Ronal)

I feel as the two top leaders of the tribe, having a human as their third mate can mean many things.

Such as: Having a human for a mate shows their rank of status in the tribe. If being leaders weren't enough.

After a long day of doing their duties, they go home happy knowing their little mate is waiting for them to relieve their stress. In more ways than one. {use your imagination I aint going that deep]

Having a human mate will influence how they view the world. The Na'vi seeing their world as its ecosystem as normal as it can get, while the humans see it so different and something so beautiful. The humans may see the same thing every single day but sees it as it was something new to them over and over.

Have a change of paste in life. Talking and sharing things with their human mate is something the leaders look forward to at the end of the day.

The leaders being excited or happy with their human mate wants to know more of something or ask them questions. The leaders seeing it as a sign they their mate relies on them for information.

Speaking of, they enjoy it when their human mate searches for them, having their small eyes only on the leaders and no one else. They can get very protective and if not, a bit possessive should another Na'vi get too comfy with their human mate.

would hiss or give the other Na'vi a warning before shooing them away. Might get a scolding from their human mate but will shrug it off and lead their little human somewhere else.

Should the Tsahik get pregnant, the Olo'eyktan wouldn't be as stressed or worried that their Tsahik is in a vulnerable state. Having their human mate near the Tsahik calms the Olo'eyktan a bit. Since the Tsahik wont be alone.

And if the human is trained in the ways of healing, then the human mate would help the Tsahik if she were to feel morning sickness or dizziness. Giving the Tsahik comfort and a sense of peace.

Assist the Tsahik in duties in which she cannot anymore due to her belly growing. Things that require bending down, gathering plants, and herbs, grinding them, or anything that require lots of energy.

Once the newborn Na'vi is born, automatically, the human mate will be their second parent. Cherishing and nurturing the new born.

when the Tsahik is busing once again with her duties. The human mate will make sure the baby has their needs met, make sure they are clean, fed, and overall comfy with, hopefully, little crying as possible.

Having soft skin brings great benefit for Na'vi baby as they will cling more so the softer and warmer texture. Showing big trust and love to their third parent.

As the Na'vi baby grows, they become attached to all three parents, but will secretly favor their human parent. Since they bring a type of comfort that is different from their other two parents.

Since being the child of the two leaders, they wont have much time to play with their child as much as they want to. So the human mate comes in and plays while teaching showing around the Na'vi baby. Will continue to as the baby grows.

Being a human mate/parent to the Na'vi is something refreshing and somehow brings great comfort to all. Being so small yet have a massive mind and spirit.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that is it. I might add more or change of few things. I am ok with what I put but I know I can do better. If ya'll want more or something else, I don't mind. Thank you for reading this!

Quick Question, does Wade need to eat, as in is eating necessary for his survival need to eat? Forgive me if I'm wrong but in my head the way his powers work is all of his cells dying and regrowing all at once, so he wouldn't really need to eat because of that, the newly alive cells already have the energy/nutrients/etc etc. that food provides. Not sure if I'm reading him wrong but I imagine eating might actually make him sick? If they're all regrowing and dying I don't imagine they're actually working to digest the food he's eating, so it would stay there for a lot longer than is probably healthy. It would probably cause all sorts of digestive problems? Please correct if I'm wrong but in my head that's a cause of why he has a low metabolism and that lovely extra cushion, just very curious. <3

i think you might be putting a little too much thought into it,, the comics certainly don't put that much thought into it. wade eats, like any normal guy. in fact, i think it's been mentioned a few times that the reason wade is so high-appetite a lot of the time is because he needs it to heal. just like normal humans. i don't think his body, in the way it's described, works all too differently than ordinary humans do. except that his skin and brain are in constant flux. i know that on paper, they say his entire body is in flux, whatever that means, but, functionally, it's just his brain and his skin. if we thought about all the ramifications of his entire body being in flux, well, that's just about as good of a time as thinking about how ben grimm's organs work now that he's made out of rock. how does he digest food? he still eats! generally, when posed the question, it's shown that, actually, it's just his skin that's rock and his organs are still fleshy and pink underneath. (i don't like to think about it, so we don't think about it.)

i think the way i approach wade - which, you know, definitely isn't how most people approach him - is that, on terms of abilities he's basically normal. he isn't low metabolism, he's pretty normal. pretty average. he's getting soft in places the same way any man his age with his diet would. it's just that in typical circumstances, his body would be healing from injuries and he'd be, you know, fighting, doing backflips. doing whatever this is.

his metabolism works in overtime when he's pushing his body to the limit. when he's healing from injuries. since he's not doing deadpool stuff, his body is getting all soft. in the way any normal human who is not doing backflips and healing from injuries might.

in a same vein, i know his wiki says "super strength, stamina" yadda yadda, but i don't think so. i think, sure, he's definitely capable of feats of strength and stamina that no normal human would be capable of, but not because he physically is that strong but - that he can push his body beyond what normal humans can, because a normal human worries that if they push themselves beyond their limits they'll suffer injury. but wade doesn't care how many muscles he pulls or bones he breaks. so a normal human couldn't stop a helicopter with sheer strength without sustaining irreparable damage. but wade can. not because he's, like, as strong as spider-man, but because he can take the damage.

i think that's why i kind of write peter as being kind of wary whenever wade says something is "n.b.d" because he knows wade isn't super-strong, and things aren't actually "n.b.d", and that it costs wade just as much as it would cost any normal human, it's just that wade's convinced that he'll heal. ergo, no big deal.

peter knows wade tries to diminish the strain that he's under, and doesn't like peter to know just how much harm or pain he's feeling - whether it be physical or emotional. but peter knows that wade suffers. just as much, or more than any normal, frail, not-blessed-by-spider-bite human being. and so peter tries to protect wade, just as much as he would any normal, frail, not-blessed-by-spider-bite human being. healing factor or non.

i do think the thing that keeps wade's healing factor fighting so hard is that it constantly has something to fight. i think, in my head - in a way that some might think is tragic, but others might think is bittersweet, that if wade doesn't keep exerting himself to his limits and having to heal from physical injuries and, say, decides to retire and live a normal, docile life where he's not putting himself into the line of fire all the time then - well, his healing factor, not having to work so hard, eventually starts to slow down in the same way his metabolism does. his body doesn't have to fight so hard anymore. it gets lazy. he puts on weight, he ages. like any normal human guy. he grows old. the cancer does, eventually, beat out his healing factor. he dies. like any normal human man.

BUT! if he DOES have to put the suit back on, and get back into form for any reason, to say, i don't know, protect eleanor from her inevitable stupid future superhero shenanigans, then i'm sure his drive to be an unbearable dad for his daughter for the rest of all time will keep him from dying a slow, humble death.

RIP to peter, though, eventually. (though i do think, with his spider-longevity, peter could live well into his 100s. I think he'd look amazing, even in his 70s. like cher. (if he doesn't get his stupid ass killed prematurely.)

Someone like Dr. Flug definitely seems harmless. Pathetic, wimpy, and afraid. Labels that have been given to him all his life. Labels that only you never assigned him. Well, he's never lived up to those names. Not completely. Underneath his trembling form hid a dangerous man, who could kill you at the snap of his fingers if he really wanted to. Not like he would! You do have to remember, though, that he still is a villain. For plenty good reason.

But, yes. I'm sorry, but the moment he realized his murderous lovesick tendencies, you've immediately set yourself up for danger. Flug would never hurt you, but he's not saying he wouldn't hurt anyone to have you.

With the baseline of knowing he is sick, twisted, and much more than he seems--lets dig more into how he behaves, shall we? He's quite tame with you at first. If you didn't know any better, Dr. Flug would be as normal as ever in your eyes. He's pretty good at bottling up his obsession. This definitely comes into play as his obsession with you grows stronger by the day.

He's unsure of his feelings towards you at first. Dr. Flug soon recognizes it as love, and he can't get enough of you. He begins with small signs, such as asking you for help in his lab when he really doesn't need it. You also notice that he just happens to show up in the same room that you'd walk into. You viewed it as nothing but coincidence.

Flug grows increasingly worried for you as weeks pass, him still relishing in this new feeling. Unfortunately, this feeling did come with a bit of.. protectiveness, on his part. He still wanted you to visit his lab, yes, but.. maybe he could make his lab a bit more safe? Dr. Flug didn't want you to get hurt by something of his creation. The only thing worse than that would be if someone else hurt you. Which wouldn't happen. He hopes so, at least.

One day, though, he made a mistake. Flug had let you go on a mission with him, and a hero had hurt you. Whether it was a major or minor injury, he didn't care. Someone hurt you--your soft, delicate skin, your sweet smile, the sparkle in your eyes.. your eyes seemed dull now. And something in him sparked a fire that was trying to burn for weeks now.

Suddenly, the normally panicked mood that hung over his mindset completely disappeared. He didn't have time to overthink ever little thing he does--not now. But he didn't want to.. strike, not.. yet.

When Dr. Flug gets mad, he gets scary. Not in the way he was almost constantly angry with Demencia, no, this was a.. spiteful anger. That's the anger that made him the most dangerous. As mentioned before, he could choose when he wanted to be dangerous at any moment. And that moment was now.

Euthanasia could work, but it was too.. painless. Maybe something a bit more lethal would be better. He decided to create his own serum. If he injected the syringe with it in just the right spot in the neck, the hero would be suffering for hours. Perhaps days.. They would be gasping for air they couldn't receive, practically chugging their own blood, yet forced to stay awake during the whole process. Perfect, was it not?

Okay, he may have gone a little bit overboard. But in the end, he knew it would be worth it. You never found out. Why would you? He was much too careful for that. Dr. Flug simply played along, hearing the hero's name announced dead on the news with you. He played a fool, acting surprised. And it was enough to fool you.

Afterwards, though, he felt amazing. To completely get rid of someone's existence.. it was freeing. And the hero deserved it, anyway. The only obstacle in the way now was the challenge of having you to himself. With Dr. Flug's self-esteem, this goal was made generally impossible.

Though, a new idea came to him. A horrible, new, great idea. If Flug wanted you to himself, there was only one other way that came to him. There's no way you'd like him back, he was probably still pathetic in your eyes. So instead, he chose the more obvious choice of just whisking you away. Chloroform should do the trick, right..?

Waking up in Flug's dimly lit lab, tied to an office chair, not remembering the past 12 hours of your life was.. an experience. A horrifying one, at that. What did you even do to him that would make him want to kill you? You were nothing but nice to him, and.. part of you was actually starting to grow attached to him. You started to regret ever becoming a villain in the first place..

That was, until Dr. Flug tried his best to calm your nerves, explaining how he didn't want to hurt you. You could almost hear the sorrow in his voice, almost like he was hurt that you would even think that he would ever want to harm you. Noticing you were now significantly more calmer than before, he began relishing in the fact that you were now his.

Off the bat, he begins overloading you with compliments. Now that you know he likes you, he starts treating you like some sort of goddess. Ignoring the fact that he's holding you hostage, he treats you pretty well! He brings you in 3 meals a day from outside, gives you a warm bed to sleep in at night, all so that he makes sure you know he loves you. Another thing Flug does is make sure 5.0.5. doesn't see you. This portion is a bit difficult, but he gets by, and 5.0.5. just thinks you must've moved away. How peacefully ignorant.

For now, he intends on keeping you here until you gain some sort of stockholm syndrome, or until he finds a better place to keep you without the risk of you escaping. You find yourself wondering how long you're gonna last here.

Helluva Ride

Going to an amusement park with the I.M.P squad would probably include...

Blitz immediately wanting to go on the most intense rides (and then getting sick afterwards). I think he would love rollercoasters.. Maybe a bit too much. He would also love showing off how good he is at beating the rigged carnival games. Ring toss, the water squirt game, the one where you climb on the rope and see how long you last, the sharp shooter games, you name it. And if he isn't good at it, well, it's obviously the fault of the cheap gun or the faulty whatever thing-a-majig. Would absolutely play the games for the prizes. He'd probably give a couple to his partner or friends. Maybe he'd keep a couple for himself (especially if someone else won the prize and gave it to him as a gift). Takes tons of pictures and loves going into the photo booths. Definitely gets drunk and ends up puking either on a ride or in one of the bathrooms.

Stolas only enjoys theme parks if he's with someone like Octavia, the I.M.P squad, or partner. Generally won't go on rides unless it's the teacups or swings. Other than that, he probably just sticks to treating everyone to snacks/concessions, clothes, pictures, etc. Probably enjoys the bumper cars and does that little "oohohoho" and clap whenever he rides with someone or when bumping into another car. Also enjoys the photo booths and gets the biggest print possible to display in his home. Only likes some of the carnival food/drinks, but will pay for the food that his close friends/partners want. Mostly supplies the funds for the day and enjoys watching his friend go on the rides. He's really just there to connect and have fun. Other than that, he's probably reading.

Moxxie canonically hates theme parks. Won't go on the rides (unless Blitz or Millie drags him on). Would probably stick with Stolas and definitely wouldn't eat the food. I don't think he would like being in such a crowded place where so much can go wrong. Hates any mascots/statues of mascots that are present. Will punch them. See also: shooting. His favorite thing to do is probably the carnival games where he can shoot at stuff. Adores being able to win stuff for Millie. Likely gushes at some of the cute children and families he sees, because it makes him think of what he could've had, and what he wants with Millie. Mox also enjoys seeing Millie in the oversized hoodies/t-shirts that are sold at the giftshops.

Millie goes on every. single. ride. Always sits with Blitz at the very front and screams the loudest. Not out of fear- out of unfiltered joy and excitement. Adores when anyone (especially Moxxie) tries to win something for her at the games. It makes her feel appreciated. If she notices anyone feeling uncomfortable, she'll stick with them, even if it means missing out on a ride. Millie also loves trying the snacks offered by different vendors. Overall, she loves the entire experience and makes the most out of the time she has there. Goes absolutely feral on bumper cars. She also enjoys competition, so you can bet your ass she'll be in some kind of contest with Blitz. Crowds will gather around Millie when she's playing the games and she loves showing off. Wins the biggest prizes possible to spoil Moxxie and her friends.

Loona acting like she hates everything (and lowkey she hates dealing with the crowds) but enjoys seeing everyone so happy and care-free. Especially likes seeing her dad actually letting loose and having a good time. Takes care of him when he inevitably drinks too much. Will also go on rides, but will barely react. Doesn't care much for prizes, but enjoys browsing the gift shops, even if most of the designs are corny. Kills fucking arcade games. Not necessarily because she's good at them, but because if she loses, she'll kick/punch the shit out of the machine. If she plays any of the carnival games, she doesn't put much effort in. Spends most of the time either on her phone or teasing Moxxie.

So for your punishment idea, why would the sins, embodiments of seven vices … be punishing those who follow those vices they promote? like for ozzie and rapists for example, ok, you could argue thats more about control and wrath than actual lust, and he could punish val for doing it “wrong.” but what about people who follow “pure” lust - cheaters, promiscuous people, etc.? like if he’s sadistic and encourages people to fall for carnal desires just so he can fuck them up later that could be something, but then why would he not do the same for sa in this case???

Well this wasn't the ask I was quite expecting. I'll answer this the best I can. May not be the answer you're looking for but this is how I'm interpreting it:

Honestly the Sins themselves aren't '100% evil" in my AU. They're not good people, granted, some are quite pieces of work in there own right and have no shame in the actions they take (or even think it's 'that bad' to begin with).

Best way to describe some of the Sins views is kinda like an orange and blue mortality kind of thing. My version of Beelzebub may come across as a sweetheart that'd gladly invite over her daughters friend's or 'Tex for dinner and very motherly, but she's also a cannibal that will devour her citizens in one gulp if they piss her off enough or if their Beelizjuice addiction takes hold of them where it's inversible.

I think another good example is the character of Lucifer from the show Lucifer who also has a bit of a warp sense of mortally where he's not per say evil, but just twisted in what he views right and wrong. Ozzie would turn a blind eye to infidelity and adultery even if he wouldn't engage in it himself (I mean, he both called out and sorta congratulated Stolas in a sick way in Ozzie's) and well Ozzie is kind promiscuous himself so. Heck, he doesn't question most of his fellow Sins actions that much, including the ones he's close to (Mammon and Bee are who he sees as his closes friends and was even in an relationship with Mammon at one point) but when it comes to SA and rape and really anything that involves force, it just enrages him and he'll gladly set you ablaze.

It likely also helps that my Ozzie spent plenty time on Earth fucking around (figuratively and literally) with humans that he gained a bit of humanity himself. His friendship with Sarah from the Book of Tobit, where the bible story was twisted that he killed her husbands because he wanted her to himself when in reality he wanted to protect her from those suiters that forced themselves on her. Of course this did cause issues when Tobias was in the picture where he did almost kill him in a fit of jealousy if it wasn't for Raphael intervening due to he did ended up have feelings for her. One of the few actions he truly regrets.

I plan on Ozzie, along with some of the other Sins, being complex characters in their own right and not falling under good or evil, even if their actions can be considered such. One of the problems I have with Viv's writing is how black and white she made them (and just her general black and white on what's good and what's bad without truly exploring that deeply with Heaven in Hazbin.). Ozzie and Bee are portrayed as completely good and 'unproblematic' while Mammon is an evil prick that only cares about money and exploits people. Greed is bad but Lust and Gluttony aren't? I'm not saying that's what she was aiming for but it comes across that way when Lust and Gluttony can be just as harmful as Greed and Pride. They're called 'sins' for a reason. There's a lack of nuance and complexly in her writing that anywhere interesting she could go with these characters and story, she plays it safe but at the same time she also doesn't? She wants to portray SA as a serious issue (which it is) but the next scene there could be a character being SA'd as a joke?

It's frustrating to say the least.

Anyways I'm sorry I also went into a bit of rant here. I hope this is a satisfying answer and makes sense. It's something I did have to think a bit about for a while.

Have you ever scrapped ideas for Sweet & Sour?

Yep!

My process has luckily been more of "transform an idea that doesn't fit" situation for most things, but I'm happy to talk about some of the things that didn't make the cut. Whipping out the notes page...

Lacey was actually meant to be the spotlighted E4 member that gets close to Juliana, not Drayton (hence the focus on her in Chapter 1 & 2). She was actually my favorite at first, and I envisioned her as being a positive, grounding guide for Juliana, and also somewhat of a middle ground influence for Kieran. But then I wrote my spin on the cafeteria scene, and I was like "oh my god wait, Drayton's character is so enticing and flexible, and he's especially fun to insert as an influence in the Kieran/Juliana dynamic". SOOOOOO I quickly decided to pivot and make him the spotlighted one, and have him do more of this brotherly figurer role who was very cunning and comedic. Before I even realized I got overtaken by the iconicism, and now he's just part of my brand in general. Whoops. The "Drayton Being Iconic" tag existed on this blog before this happened so I honestly should've seen it coming LMAO. I do have very important plans for the rest of the E4 and what role they're playing, though :

Don't laugh at this one - it was also early development LOL. I was going to have a party scene where Drayton convinces Juliana to pretend she got drunk (I know) as part of a roundabout and wild way to find evidence that Kieran had a soft spot for her (I KNOW). Kieran was essentially gonna waltz in (to a social event he otherwise never would make an appearance in) and he'd get all flustered as Juliana latches onto him. He would've decided to sweep her away from the party and take him back to his dorm. I ended up scrapping this entirely because while teens do party and all that...yeah, and also we pretty much got the dynamic moments I wanted to portray much better through the chapters where Juliana got sick.

Kieran/Juliana dynamic was also gonna have a moment where Kieran gets it in his head to start flirting with Juliana because he thinks that she’s flirting to get him to put his guard down. And that's where they both kinda were gonna secretly realize their feelings LOL. In hindsight lowkey fire still, but yeah, kinda just didn't have the space for it. We do have flirty Kieran era though, and that's still based.

This one is kinda known already, but originally the Applins were the only stars of the show (hence the name of the fic). I added Ribombee in early on after enough people wanted it and gave it lore/a connection to Kieran and his mother. Before Ribombee was conceptualized, I had different plans for what happened to Kieran's parents (he would still be an orphan regardless).

Briar was originally going to make a "deal" with Clavell regarding getting Juliana to come to Blueberry early, although it wouldn't be revealed until Juliana discovers this later. I scrapped this in favor of something much better because I didn't like the implications it had on Clavell's character, and honestly, only Blueberry is supposed to have the sketchy admin/systematic stuff going on anyways lol.

Kieran was meant to show more obvious signs of sleep deprivation (e.g. falling suspect to illness more frequently, slowed reactions). This idea is still good and realistic, but yeah, ended up leaning more into other symptomology that went well with the toxic chain curse (e.g. irritability, obsessive fixations, self-criticism, overworking himself, fatigue, etc.)

Ribombee was going to sleep powder both Kieran & Juliana in the cave scene of Ch 5. I decided to make it a bit more organic by having Kieran up and reflecting on everything + having Ribombee appearance in a more mystical way. Plus, I thought it would mean more if Kieran & Juliana opted to cuddle up themselves rather than being knocked out. There was a part of me that was worried the dynamic was progressing too fast this way with this change, but it seemed to have landed well! :)

This doesn't really count as a scrapped idea, but related: I 1000% retconned something with the Drayton POV chapters (if ykyk, LOL). But YEP. It's CANON. And frankly it's a decision I personally love that has implications, but also won't screw up the storytelling for where we're at now, either.

There's actually a lot more, too, but like I said: most of my ideas tend to upgrade. And lolololol OMG this is especially true for some major lore stuff. I just don't want to reveal it because I don't want to give y'all hints on where we're going!! LOL.

And also...there are cuter moments I haven't used in S&S and probably won't be able to because I account for what makes sense with the given dynamic. BUT what I do end up doing is taking those unused ideas and putting them into What-Ifs or other stories. There's one I'm particularly thinking of that I was dying to put in S&S D, but I don't think it would trip up the current Kieran as much as it would've in earlier chapters, lol. SO. It's going in The Dichotomy in Our Hearts instead! xD

i have a more angsty au in the back pocket but i'm gonna go out on a limb and say some more general and positive au stuff (positive being "adam lives and lawrence isn't an apprentice" i.e. incredibly safe happy au)

adam didn't really see himself being a parent due to his financial situation (read: broke as hell), not thinking he'd be a good one, not finding anyone right for him, etc, but overall didn't really think about it too hard. until lawrence. they didn't hook up right out of the hospital, but they did move in together after the gordons' divorce, which in turn means diana visiting on the weekends. and oh wow. even before they're together, seeing lawrence be a sweet dad to diana really. did something for adam. to him, too, honestly.

once they do get together, adam sometimes cracks jokes about lawrence getting him pregnant to fluster him -- which it does most of the time. it gets worse around heat/rut -- and to.... test the waters in a way. lawrence only reacts negatively with regards to the timing of these jokes (adam whispering it to him while they're walking and lawrence just sternly going "adam.") but never the subject matter itself.

they don't really talk about it beforehand. adam's still a little unsure and lawrence doesn't assume anything about the jokes, just chalking it up to adam's strange sense of humor + even if he does want another pup (he loves being a dad sooo much and he has No Doubt about adam being a good parent) he doesn't want to make adam feel pressured by broaching the subject seeing as he'd be doing the hard part of carrying the pup.

but they do finally talk about it when after one heat adam starts having symptoms. morning sickness for him is especially bad (and lasts through the majority of his pregnancy) yet even after throwing up so hard he pisses himself, lawrence still finds adam smelling good (omega biological defense mechanism, pregnancy pushes soothing, attractive notes into their scent to entice people to staying close and keeping them safe), which is what has them both sharing A Look. like. oh. this might be big.

lawrence reassures adam that whatever he decides he wants to do, he'll be behind him 100%. yes, he might be a little sad for a bit if adam decides to terminate, but it wouldn't break them up or anything drastic like that. and honestly that seals it for adam: they're having this pup.

yes they are incredibly shmoopy about it. lawrence can't purr but oh my god he can happy-rumble. he kisses all over adam's face so much that adam almost chokes on his own purr laughing.

the anxiety adam had about taking care of diana by himself when lawrence had to leave (he tries to spend ALL his time with diana while she's there but life happens) is nothing compared to adam's nerves about raising a pup "from scratch". lawrence has to reassure adam so very often that he's gonna do just fine, no, you will not drop the pup nor will you accidentally press on the soft spot and kill them. how easily adam got himself to quit smoking is a testament to how attentive and GOOD he'll be, actually, even when the withdrawals making him moodier on top of the hormones.

speaking of hormones! even after lawrence sits with him and tends to him through the morning sickness (he is late nearly every day he has to work because of this) once he leaves for the hospital, adam very bluntly says "so you hate me". the first time it happens lawrence is so caught off guard he's not even hurt, just completely baffled. and adam is so confident in this assessment, and lawrence is late enough as it is, so he just leaves him be. lawrence is so ??? the entire day as it was just so out of the blue, with no logic in the assumption -- which is unlike adam, who while he can get pretty angry, always has some reasoning behind it. of course, adam is mortified within an hour (if that) of lawrence leaving, so when he gets home that evening, adam has a hard time meeting his eye. lawrence reassures him he's not mad, just worried. adam mutters, "hormones. sorry." and that's the end of that.

after they talk it out (if. you can call it that) those "you hate me" moments still happen, but lawrence simply replies, gentle but firm, "no, i don't hate you, sweetheart." adam doesn't apologize verbally but his regret is still obvious in his body language, like tucking into lawrence's side, curled and small, and purring much softer than his normal motorcycle purring to show he's sorry.

the worst part of all the changes for adam is the mood swings. they are brutal. he emotionally exhausts himself every single day and has never been more thankful to be able to take naps whenever he wants. anger is one he swings to most often as it's the emotion most familiar to him, only this time the anger scares him. it's not as reliable as it once was. there's a nightmare he has after blowing up at lawrence where he's back in the bathroom, killing zep again. he keeps going and going, blinded by the blood in his eyes, until the cistern lid is reduced to gravel. but then he wipes his face and sees blond hair among the brain matter.

on an entirely less upsetting note, adam has never been as regularly horny in his LIFE up until that point. especially the further along he is. the best part is that the knowledge that adam is carrying his pup gets lawrence almost as hot. in fact, lawrence hits three separate ruts over the 9 month period, all of which making him the STUPIDEST he's ever been, much to adam's delight. to his own embarrassment, lawrence has slurred out pleas to get adam pregnant in both systems (adam is trans. obviously) so he'll have a litter. they both have insane breeding kinks, is basically what i'm trying to say here.

anyway. adam also manages to get away with eating more junk by blaming his cravings. lawrence prefers a minimal fast food diet but if adam insists it's a pregnancy craving for wendy's, he'll cave. adam does get cravings, of course (his big one is shrimp. HUGE on shrimp) so he's not lying about it ALL the time at least :3c just like half the time :3c

adam and diana get even closer somehow. she warmed up to the idea of a little sibling fairly quickly for a slightly babied only child, and once lawrence tells her the pup can hear them -- diana is very inquisitive and asks about the development in that sweet child way every time she comes over -- when she first comes in on the weekends she never fails to say hi to adam's belly. it's so incredibly darling. before adam didn't like to intrude on gordon father-daughter time, but after he gets pregnant he's drawn in to the domesticity with incredible ease.

oh my god does that pup kick. absolutely ROWDY fetus. adam once complained that it's something they get from lawrence and lawrence just deadpanned, "adam. do i look like the type to kickbox" while gesturing to his prosthetic. got his ass. it also gets more active when lawrence talks, which when pointed out, made lawrence a bit smug. "seems like they got that from you, actually." adam can barely even argue that, he loves him. got his ass x2.

the actual birth day was...... an endeavor.

the first time adam held their pup was lifechanging. he was transfixed. he even tuned lawrence out for a bit just..... processing it all. holy shit, they have a baby. "lawrence..... we have a pup together." "we do." "we're parents now." "i'm a little ahead of you there, but yes." "oh my god."

within an hour of their pup being born, adam had grumbled at lawrence to "stop lookin' like that." lawrence, who had been babbling like a total goofball to them already, chirped out a questioning noise, adam clarified. "lookin' all dadly. gonna get me pregnant again." lawrence tried to hush him but he had flushed and chuckled so it was just another win for adam that day

my GOD that is the most spoiled pup. adam surprises lawrence by taking their pup out to the park, or the store, or the photo place adam's made some friends at, when before he usually preferred to stay at home. adam's friend circle is a bit chaotic now that he's associated with lawrence and has cut ties with scott but he wants to flaunt So Bad. he buys so many baby clothes despite lawrence's gentle reminders that babies grow fast so they'll be grown out of before they know it. to adam this just means he can shop in 🔥a different section of baby clothes at the mall🔥

lawrence still has some hangups about using a wheelchair even when it's the best option for him on bad days (doctors are terrible patients) but adam has talked him into using more after they have their pup. "use the chair, you can hold the baby and i'll push you along, c'mon it'll be easier lar" and lawrence will grumble about it a little but it's still nice admittedly.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: If you're actually taking care of a real turtle, please be mindful of the noises they make! Chirps can come from stress, water temp, respiratory infection, etc. Yes, they can come from non-concerning reasons, but just be sure. IRL turtles don't have vocal chords! Now that that's said, on to the headcanons!

The turtles can all make turtle sounds! Being half-human mutants (with actual vocal chords, teeth, human saliva, etc.) and isolated from other turtles besides each-other, their range/capabilities of and reasons for using these sounds differ— sometimes greatly—from their IRL turtle species counterparts.

The turtles accidentally created their own sort of pseudo-language that they use to communicate with each other. Chirps, trills, hums, clicks, etc. When words won't come out or they don't feel right to use, when traditional ASL— even their modified TSL (turtle sign language)— wouldn't suffice, it's something they easily fall into. Almost as easy as thinking itself.

Besides unconscious/automatic responses + occasional stimming, they hadn't used their turtle sounds as much as they did as kids. They still use it a couple times a day, typically over the dinner table, during movies, or whenever there was a turtle pile. But after Shredder, and especially after the Kraang's attempted invasion, it's something they've began to do more again.

When the turtles still couldn't form sentences, Splinter had went ham on trying to understand what each means. After guides on pet turtle care didn't do much for him, he was attentive and assumed based off their more humanlike behaviors that accompanied these sounds.

Nowadays, Splinter can't really decipher most of the new noises his sons make. He can still understand some smaller phrases: "Happy," "Sorry," "I want my family," "Stay," "Love you," "Scared," "Yes," "No," and "Hungry!" to name a few.

Raph didn't make many turtle noises when he was a baby, mostly making more humanlike ones. Though he did mew a lot when he was sick or if he had nightmares in his slumber. In addition to that, there's a specific low-frequency hum that only the other turtles could actually hear; typically made during sleepy and/or someone stressful moments. It's both an "I'm right here" and "Come here please" message.

Donnie grunted, though it came off more like a huff as a little one. His chirps sounded more like "cht. cht. cht." When he's thinking hard or feeling a little overwhelmed, he'll also emit a low-frequency hum, one only he could hear— unless he's spending time underwater with Leo, then he could hear it as well. He also hissed a lot. Especially on the days where he's clingy. There's 3 types of Donnie hisses: mildly bothered, "you're pushing it," and "I will actually bite you." How you figure out which is which? For Splinter, trial and error.

Baby Leo really worried Splinter because he kept chirping all the time. He thought that Leo had a respiratory issue and/or was under heavy stress from the sewers' conditions. It really didn't help that Leo got sick the easiest. And when distressed, he'd cry out sounding almost like an upset cat— not really helping with the respiratory infection theory. Turns out, Leo just chirped as a general form of communication, especially when he was feeling excited or happy.

Like Raph, Mikey didn't make a lot of turtle-like noises as a baby— but when he grew into a toddler— he did it a lot. He wore his emotions on his sleeve, and almost every sentence with punctuated with an companying sound. Usually clicks or something similar to a "yep!"/"yp!" sound with his beak.

Leo and Donnie were the most turtle-talkative out of them as babies n' tots. Heck, sometimes, the Disaster Twins™ would sometime just mimic each other's mews and chirps out of boredom (to which Mikey would follow suit, and eventually Raph too).

Splinter, Leo, and Mikey are the only ones who've ever heard Raphael hiss so loud and deep that it turned into a growl.

Raphael is the only one who's ever heard Leo hiss pre-Kraang.

Early on into knowing them, April asked about it. The day after they explained it to her, Donnie and Mikey began working on a "guide" comic together for some of the "basics." It's 40 pages long when they give it to April. As the years passed, she catches on pretty quickly to the various sound cues, and she can have short conversations without them needing to use words.

Casey Junior can understand them pretty well due to being raised around them— when he was small, he would try to mimic those noises (to varying results).

He may or may not have almost cried when he was in the Hamato-family-sleepy-pile and could feel the deep, comforting, low frequency sound reverberating from Raph as he and Leo rested against him— something he hadn't felt since he was just old enough to form memories. And he may have actually cried when Leo sleepily chirped back some sort of unintelligible, but content, response. They were peaceful.

oh man, basically everything i do here ! particularly the different relationships Rei gets to develop...i get legit emotional thinking about her slowly realising she matters as a Person and not as an object or an end to a means. I also love writing the dichotomy between her wisdom and her inexperience, because she's very wise and perceptive but at the same time is a child who's very limited in life.

i also LOVE writing hcs and metas!! there's so much to explore i never get sick of it. I haven't posted any of them yet bc i still have to make my thoughts coherent, but i especially love writing about rei's ""childhood"", as in her time as Rei 1. I also wanna write about the difference between Rei 2 and Rei 3 and explore how I can portray that in how I write them.

hmm both, really. when I read a reply from a mutual I find it very easy to pick out lines that stand out to me, which I then try to either incorporate in my response or build on how Rei reacts to it (which is always fun bc she's a very introspective character)

When writing I blurt out whatever comes to mind then spend a while re-wording + rearranging...a lot of the times i get stuck on a particular thing bc i want it to sound a certain way.

But when I can't start working on a reply right away I'll bullet point my ideas or any lines I wanna use then draft it so I don't forget.

I do ! I think at heart I'm very lovey dovey so I do enjoy shipping a lot. Writing and drawing a ship I have with someone makes me very happy, and it's always so fun developing the relationship and seeing how it blossoms. Despite this, I don't have many romantic ships across any of my blogs, but I don't really mind or care because I have so many lovely platonic + familial dynamics that I find just as if not more investing.

For Rei, in general she's not the most shippable. She struggles enough with making friends as is, and has so many emotional and mental struggles that make it difficult for her to connect with others. BUT she's also a sweetheart and always gives her everything into her relationships, so it's fun and very cute when she gets crushes <3

hello! I hope you are having a good day! I need some help.

i think I have trauma, but I don't want to take resources from people who actually need them, because I'm not sure. nothing awful ever happened to me, but growing up as an undiagnosed autistic is... not fun. and I have bad reactions to things that shouldn't be traumatizing, like, at all.

for example, as a kid, a girl used to yell and scream at me for missing goals at school or not being able to block them or etc. and nowadays, if I miss a goal or let one in (I'm still in school, I'm a teenager) , my chest tightens and I have to run away, and I'll usually have a panic attack or even start crying, because I'm scared that someone will get mad at me. and that shouldn't have been traumatizing, cause its so fucking tiny (I hope you're ok with cusses, I'm so sorry if your not and I inadverdantely made you uncomfortable) and who gets trauma from a mean kid at school?

and my family never exactly showed me a good model for weakness. weakness is something I avoid at all costs, and crying is embarrassing, and at the same time I desperately want to not be able to control weakness, to be forced to show weakness, so that someone will help, but I've seen tons of people talk about that, so I'm pretty sure that's normal.

another thing is the reaction I have to my brother having a cold or getting sick. I keep pinning it on OCD, but I don't think its OCD. for context, my mother's younger sister died of cancer, so it might be generational. since, pretty much, my brother was born, (I was three), I've had such a giant reaction to him ever being sick. Now, my brother is also autistic/ADHD (neither of us are diagnosed, but I've done tons of research etc) and I love him very much, but when he, or anyone really, but especially him, gets sick, I panic, hide in my room, cover my nose when they sniff or sneeze or cough, and even writing this is getting me panicked. I get panic attacks, dread going home, etc.

Hey there,

First. Don't apologize for "taking up space." Everyone deserves to take up space. If you didn't, you wouldn't have been born.

Second. Trauma can come from anywhere, and it entirely subjective, and has many factors. Just because it may seem "tiny" doesn't mean it actually is. Something "tiny" could become huge with a lot of other factors, like repetition, lack of support, negative or disorganised attachments to parental figures, stressful environments, etc. Never discount traumatic experiences because they're "tiny." If it was traumatic, it's not tiny to you.

Third. "Who gets trauma from a mean person at school." Lots of people. Bullying is very traumatic. You're not alone whatsoever.

Fourth. "I don't want to take resources from people who actually need them." What resources could you possibly "take up" to where no one else would be able to get them? Most of the time, trauma resources are things like online spaces, websites, books, therapy, etc. None of those are only available to one person at a time. Furthermore, why do you think you don't need them? If you feel like they could potentially benefit you, then you are the target audience. Period. They don't care why it would benefit you. Just that it would. Take the resources you feel you could use. They're meant for you.

Last. Common does not equal normal. And neither of those equal okay. It may be common to grow up in a household that doesn't allow weakness. That doesn't make it a normal or standard experience, and that certainly doesn't make it a good model or an okay and non-traumatic way of living. Many common things are still bad for you. Don't dismiss it because it's a common experience. It can still be harmful.

Overall, take resources you need, and acknowledge your pain and trauma. The only person you're harming in not doing so is yourself. There is no chivalry or kindness in not helping yourself.

Thoughts on the idea of eggman doing horribly vile shit but still wanting to be seen as in the right for it, like “oh I’m not making them slaves it’s protective robot skin haha”

Feel like it could be an interesting twist on his char, kinda got some of those vibes from the park in colors, the full corporate speak and like, trying to make this obviously evil plan look not evil, feel like there’s a lot to be done there

I love love looove it, that's what I was expressing a desire to share more concepts of just the other day. I have some I've been meaning to share but my favorite part is when he finally drops the act and shows his true colors and mocks them for it like a cold hearted bastard so I focus on that most lol. I do wanna delve into the build up more though.

He has indeed done it in various official media already like X, Archie, games, and promo material and I absolutely loved every instance of it. But since I'm a game canon guy primarily I'm just gonna focus on that for this reply, though in the future I'm probably going to share what I liked about the cases even outside them because I appreciate it in many places.

I love how one of the things about how he likes to take things that are generally considered childish like toys, theme parks, carnivals, circuses, etc and has his own twisted fucked up spin on it is how it can also be used to lure people in with the bright colors and usually perceived innocence of it. The times Eggman has played into it is interesting.

With Eggmanland in Unleashed, he was upfront about the hell on earth that it was to Sonic because he knew he wouldn't have believed his trickery, plus he takes pride in the fact. He enjoyed teasing him with the "If you have any complaints, come deliver them to me in person. If you can, that is!" to emphasize that it was the theme park of horror >:)

Plus the atmosphere was a lot darker so despite the neon colors, it probably wouldn't have fooled anyone Sonic or not. But he still had the Eggshop be a thing where horrible sawdust and motor oil tasting food was sold to make it horrible and unpleasant for his sadistic amusement, so maybe he would've hoped to trick people regardless?

We don't get to know for sure there but in Colors he wants lots of visitors and he really had to do some immense trickery make sure it seemed innocent and appealing enough to get them to use a space elevator to travel all the way up there lol. It's a lot more colorful and fun looking than the more dark and polluted looking Eggmanland from afar.

So for the Interstellar Park, the trickery is both in its design and his words with how he pretended it was a happy wonderland of fun with nothing to do with any evil plot or premeditated misdeeds. What I love is how once you've gotten all the way up there in space, you're fucked. You'll get messed up and killed one way or another.

In his PAs when you're actually inside, the act is dropped quick. He lies about some of it being safer than it looks but for the most part? All his lines are brutally honest about how messed up it really is, with the Wisps he harmed, blatantly acknowledges the dangers of the rides and planets, and how they can cause death, horror, and fear.

I love how sadistic he is in the PAs and his morbid humor that reveals how truly sick he is and that this park was created for anything but pure innocent reasons. He intended for the rides to be deadly and food to be bad and finds it very amusing. He probably loves the idea of these tricked people coming in and quickly becoming horrified and afraid.

But it still looks so colorful and fun from afar! It's so beautiful and with the joys he promises, how could you not want to go? So while it works to lure people in, it can also give its true horrors even more impact when visitors expect something nice but the dangerous disturbing and terrifying reality is revealed and I'm sure that's very appealing to him too.

So you get this funny combination of him both trying to deceive you but then quickly becoming brutally honest as soon as you're successfully trapped in it. This is exactly what happened in the SPINGEAR ride too, where he was immediately like "haha sike you're actually in for a terrible time!" as soon as the ride began and was loving it.

But I think the idea of him playing the long game with his trickery and deceit is interesting too. We've mostly only seen cases where it's a lot quicker like that but he's set up well for him to do an elaborate scheme of dragging it out for longer and the impact would hit extra hard after all that time too, which he'd definitely enjoy and mock after.

The Eggman Empire propaganda Sonic Forces promo video was cool because Eggman was trying to convince people the world being a dark polluted hellscape is actually a good thing, which reflects his twisted idea of a "perfect" world shaped his image, where he has the power of the control and the sadistic enjoyment of the harsh conditions.

Then because people obviously need the clean air to live, he tries to trick them into thinking robotomy is a wonderful helpful treatment for it. That never needing to eat, sleep, or think again is a good thing and that they'll love it. When really it's a trick to get them to submit to him, have control over them and strip them of their freedom and free will.

But there's an eerie glimpse at how he really knows none of this right with how he says love is mandatory. Once he's tricked them and they've submitted and given up their freedom and will, he can use them as he pleases and keep them controlled and brainwashed but if they do realize how fucked up it is there's no going back, they're trapped in it now.

I'd really like to see more of that, where he tries to tell people the vile things he does are genuinely great, for their own good, are nice and selfless of him and genuinely beneficial for them. Where he manages to manipulate so well to the point of mass delusion and brainwashing with people that follow him believing he's doing something the right thing.

It's good to be a mindless slave under his control, never having to think for yourself again! Trapping living beings in robots improves upon nature and is better and more beneficial than natural! The deadly attractions are what real fun and excitement really is! The brutal sadistic punishments if they fall out of line is for their own good! There's no meaning to life if it isn't to serve him and the world is better under his control!

And the idea of people actually believing that in the Sonic universe and following him is interesting to think about. Even though it bothers me when people do it in real life and believe his lies and think he actually has good intentions but I mean hey, they give me an example of what it'd be like at least. Eggman really is a good actor, props to him! XD

I have a few ideas I'd like to share in the future. Showing love, care, and false acts of kindness to trick and manipulate, or not even hiding his vile actions but managing to convince people it's good or that the end justifies the means, and have them falling for it and he sees how far he can take it makes it especially impactful and devastating.

Delusion, deceit, manipulation, and gaslighting in general is very fascinating to me after years of experiencing it and I've always wanted to understand it from the perpetrator's perspective and portray it as dark and disturbing as it really is. It's always been interesting for me to explore in Eggman too, from when he's manipulating specific characters to the masses. I've actually been researching big cases of mass delusion in history again lately so this is timely.

Pulling people into the empire with the lie that it's something great that will benefit everyone but their leader has much darker intentions and the true final outcome will benefit only himself, but he strings them along on a lie, brainwashes them, and has control though mind games and trickery is fascinating and thrillingly devious.

Then slowly or abruptly realizing it's a lie and the impact when it all comes crashing down and Eggman spits and laughs in their face and mocks them for having a heart and wanting to see good in him/believing and having hope in good coming from it. It emphasizes his coldness and cruelty and how much of a threat he is even to the mind.

And if that happens he'll try to shut down their doubts and lie more to keep them deluded because he knows just what they want to hear and promises them they'll get it. So if they don't believe it's right, the ends justify the means. And if that doesn't work, he'll threaten them to keep them in so they can't leave, or have them dealt with.

But he's so good at taking advantage of people's vulnerabilities, saying what they want to hear, and embedding lies so deeply into their minds to warp reality into what he wants them to believe that sometimes they may be too far gone and never see the truth. And he takes it to the darkest places, using them all up and harming them and they die in vain.

Every outcome has the potential to be very fascinating, entertaining, and impactful!

39. How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people? 

For Evie, it's kind of a mixed bag. Obviously if it's something very severe or glaring (like Caleb dating someone as awful as Zoe), she'll call it out. But most of the time, Evie has a hard time judging how severe certain flaws are. "Is this worth bringing up? Would I just be making a big fuss out of nothing if I bring it up? Or am I doing harm and being negligent by not bringing it up?"

Alan is pretty much the same as Evie, but doesn't spend as much time worrying if something is worth bringing up or not.

40. How sensitive are they to their own flaws?

Evie is very senstive to her own flaws and constantly questioning herself. "Did I handle this right? Did I severely hurt their feelings by saying this particular thing?"

Alan can sometimes struggle to recognize his own flaws. Sometimes he's afraid of spiraling into a self-deprecating mindset.

41. How do they feel about children? 

Evie likes the idea of having kids one day, as long as she doesn't have to carry and give birth to them. She and Aiden have about 4 kids when they marry.

Alan is very unsure about kids. On one hand, he loves the idea of being able to pass down the positive influence his Dad had on him. On the other hand, he's not sure if being a dad is quite for him.

42. How badly do they want to reach their end goal? 

Neither Evie nor Alan have spefic end goals. They have some things they'd like to achieve, but they wouldn't consider them "end goals".

43. If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so? 

Evie: "I'm bi with a preference for men. To any dickholes who think this means I'm 'actually just a straight woman looking for attention' or whatever, let me put it like this: I like both mint ice cream and chocolate ice cream. However, I fucking love mint a lot more and it is my primary ice cream flavor preference. Does this mean I dislike chocolate? The correct answer is no, I still like chocolate, I just prefer mint."

Alan: "I'm heteroromantic, and sexually heteroflexible. I only have romantic feelings for women and I tend to have sexual feelings mainly for women as well. However, I'm down to do it with a guy if he's cool."

E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?

Evie is very heavily based off of me, so by virtue of that, I think we'd get along. Then again, god kows how long it will be before we get sick of ourselves.

I think Alan and I would mostly get along, though at times he'd probably be a bit much for me.

F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?

Pride and excitement for both of them. Creating these characters is just so fun. And it's especially fun to make two completely different characters from the same book's MC, and explore how they compare and contrast to one another and how their in-game storylines/experiences are different from one another.

Evie is especially meaningful to me because she's heavily based off of me. One half "the person I was in high school" and one half "the person I wish I was in high school". It kind of gives me a sense of comfort to create this character who has a lot of the flaws I have and is working on them, and in the process gets to attend this high school that provides a sort of a healing experience for her.

Also, making GNC characters and relationships is just very cathartic for me.

G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?

Evie can be impulsive and say or do stupid shit sometimes, to say the least. Moments like those often contribute to her "did I do this right or did I fuck up badly" anxiety.

Alan does not take any shit from anyone that harms or gets in the way of something important to him. In a general sense, this can be good, but sometimes his perception of morality in the situation can get very muddled. Often, he fails to understand a situation's complexity, and instead behaves under the mindset of "does something that harms me = bad".

This becomes most apparent in Book 2. He'll side with the cheerleaders, even rooting for Hearst at the basketball game, but once he finds out that Isa cut cheerleading entirely because of that stunt, he'll be quick to turn around and blame them for it.

This mindset would be more directly challenged in Book 3, when he's pit against Kieran for a special role in the cheer squad. On one hand, that spot was promised to him, he can't just give it up to some newbie Heart kid, he wants what he earned. On the other hand, Kieran is also a male cheerleader, one that is constantly being taken advantage of; and was originally slated for a similar spot back at Hearst– he's not doing anything to hurt Alan on purpose, and he's the type of guy that Alan would likely be best friends with and find a sense of solidarity with.

H) What trait do you admire most?

For Alan, I think it's how masteful he is at the art of not giving a fuck. He's a guy with a huge ego and very little sense of humbleness or modesty, but it works in his favor here. He almost exclusively likes feminine and feminine-associated things, and he's proud of it. He dresses stylishly, he's fantastic at cheerleading, and he owns it. When he achieves something or he helps others achieve something, he's very openly proud of it.

Part of it is sort of taking after the stereotypical "popular diva cheerleader girl" stereotype, but he soon realizes it's also kind of his way of reminding himself that he isn't lesser for having GNC preferences, no matter how much he may have been/might be harassed for it. He understands there is such a thing as too big of an ego, but he also hates that there tends to be such a stigma on self-love. It's okay to be a bit of a diva and a show-off sometimes.
