I do think that a large part of why Glinda would be attracted to Elphaba is because Elphaba is like, the first person to push against her and not fall for her usual tactics of wooing her peers.

like she’s used to people being all over her and being swept away by her. she is NOT used to people challenging her and keeping her on her toes.

And like of course she gets pushed back on like that and feels a certain way about it and is like “I hate you? That makes sense it isn’t something else.”

Meanwhile with Elphaba I’m pretty sure it came more gradually as their “loathing” went on and it became more and more clear how much she’s enjoying sparring with Glinda constantly
