And it definitely shakes her a little bit. Before all this she was kind of on the fence about the whole Andraste thing. She wanted to believe Andraste had rescued her from the fade, but everything in her rebelled against that idea that anyone who choose her for a task like this.

And it turns out that's right. She wasn't chosen, she was just in the wrong place at the right time (or wrong time depending on your definition.) And knowing for sure that this is just one big fuck up definitely shakes her confidence in a way she wasn't expecting. She almost wanted it to be Andraste who saved her, even if the notion was ridiculous. Because then it meant at least someone had faith in her.

"shit," she mumbled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "how long was i out?" kim blinked, and sat up straighter, looking over at ryder in the driver's seat.

Joshua knows they haven't talked much since he sent her to the Hideaway. And he understands it must be hard for Jote because following him is all she has ever known. But it wasn't a life. While they were traveling together, Joshua was craving his freedom, but he was also wishing the same for Jote. The Hideaway already feels like home to him, and he hopes it's gonna be the same for her soon. Or maybe she'll decide to leave, and to find her home somewhere else. That's what she would deserve, to finally feel home somewhere.

He approaches and offers her a soft smile. "How are you doing, Jote ?" he asks gently. Everyone here is incredibly kind. Joshua knows they probably consider her as a part of the huge family already, but he's wondering if she feels the same. Hopefully, she does.
