@contradictivs sent [ ROAD TRIP ]
kim was excited to spend another summer working at camp with ryder. it felt like freedom and not being under her parents roof, endlessly tethered to their rules and constant fighting and blaming her. she'd even been looking forward to the day ryder came to pick her up. their stuff was in the backseat of ryder's car, and their music choices had been playing through his speakers the entire ride. they'd fallen quiet for a while while she'd ended up napping with her hoodie balled up between the window ans the seat. she didn't know how long she'd been asleep, just that the horn from a semi on the highway woke her up. "shit," she mumbled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "how long was i out?" kim blinked, and sat up straighter, looking over at ryder in the driver's seat.

they sat in the open trunk of steve's car like they had in high school except now, kim's son was asleep with his head on her lap. even though she was sure tyler was dead to the world she still whispered when she spoke to steve. "i love you, it's ruining my life." one would think things would get simpler when your kid's father came back into both your lives, but it had only became more complicated in a lot of ways.

Sending this anonymously bc i don’t wanna get the b/t stans attacking me for saying my observation, but this is in regards to your post about tommy not being enthusiastic about buck
for starters i completely agree w everything you said so this is just my own blurb i wanted to add
this plays into my theory of tommy paralleling abby in s1 who was never looking for anything serious w buck, but saw him as a younger man who could be used as a play-thing meanwhile buck jumps in head first only to learn a lesson about what love actually is along the way after being hurt…. and ik a bunch of people are like “i don’t want buck to get hurt by another relationship” but i genuinely think he needs to be burned a few more times because he obviously still doesn’t realize that his own interests should be celebrated by his partner and not put down— buck hasn’t had something BIG happen to him since the coming out arc and that was a mostly positive arc, aside from the gaslighting from tommy but whatever… it’s time for him to go through another hurdle, not as a side player in someone else’s arc [bobby’s injury/eddie’s breakdown] but as his own arc in which he realizes he is worth more than just being a pretty boy who is only valuable when he’s being kissed. I hope that bobby and eddie’s storylines will show him that in the finale and we can end this whole buck/tommy fiasco before s8, but im scared they will drag it out further into s8 and we will get either retconning from the writers, or we will get the fandom backlashing against tommy being used for his original intended purpose which was to be a PLOT DEVICE…..
we also have seen buck’s interests and excited demeanor subdued and looked down on by taylor often during their relationship. i already have iffy feelings on how the writers handled her character and her relationship arc with buck but aside from the treasure hunt, we never really saw her propping up buck’s interests and often tried to subdue his “golden retriever” personality (something the buckley parents also did)
(this is also interesting bc Taylor Kelly and Tommy Kinard…. T-K and T-K, idk it feels very hmmm to me on top of Tommy kind of repping all of Buck’s past major relationships into s ball)
and i feel like the diaz parents and possibly whatever happens with the will could be that catalyst for him to finally be like “oh… i am worth more thsn just being a side piece” which would hopefully lead to a b/t breakup
bc think about it, who IS the only one (besides bobby/maddie) who is always trying to tell buck he is worth more than just what he is at face value? DING DING DING it’s eddie… and if we get that feelings realization of “oh this is what i need from a relationship and i get that from eddie” we can open the door to buck facing the “im in love with my straight best friend who is going through shit” crisis while eddie could have his own “i am projecting my feelings towards buck onto my dead wife because he is what i want and she is who i thought i was supposed to want”
also for eddie’s side of things, it could also be a sense of realizing that he’s projecting and this further idea of “i’m broken” and then realizing who has been there to help him patch things up in the past as he realizes that everything he has looked for in a partner (mainly someone to be a second parental unit for chris) he already has with buck.
anyway i am so sorry for the long ask i just wanted to put this out there and say that i fully agree w you and share my thoughts that coincide with yours
Hi anon!
I love long asks and I agree with every point you made! Buck is still very obviously stuck in the hamster wheel (but only this time with a guy) and the whole "I don't want him to get hurt" is such a weird thing to say. Like except for Abby, Buck wasn't really upset by his breakups and rn his relationship with Tommy is not deep with a lots of buildup, it's just some dates (one of them failed) and two kiss so not a situation that will cause him a lots of heartache
And Eddie is the one who really matches Buck's energy and not only always hypes him up, but he's just as ready to get into the those situations
The pining arc for them is gonna be soo good, but I really hope they won't make it too long, I think a half season for it is more than enough (but I am an impatient girlie and we had enough slowburn now), I just want them to be domestic
I honestly believe we'll either have bt breakup in the next episode or in the first episode of s8. They did nothing to develop their relationship past e6, but introduced many points that could he grounds for a breakup (all coming back to Tommy's behaviour).

here lads have an angsty supercorp soulmate story
It starts exactly 24 hours after Kara’s departure.
It’s subtle at first. It actually reminds Lena of the first few days after they met.
The slow but steady build-up of pain manifesting itself into little things; shaky hands, dizzy spells, chest pains. The pills help, of course. She’s already ingested 5 pills in the span of 3 hours and she’s contemplating taking more. Just to keep the pain—threatening to overtake her—at bay. But what good would she be if Alex finds her passed out on the floor? Veins chock-full of narcotics?
So, she wills her hands to stop shaking and pushes on. She sends a text to Jess to send a shipment of pills to her home address; tells her to be discreet.
She can do it. She’s done it before. She can fucking do it again. And she will bring Kara home.
Because every moment that passes with them apart, means a step closer to Lena’s death.
You might think she’s exaggerating, but really she isn’t. See, Kara’s her soul mate, not just in the figure of speech wax-poetic sense but literally Kara’s her soul mate.
But her being a Luthor of course, soul mates wouldn’t come easy. None of it had ever been easy. Why would this one be an exception? It wasn’t unheard of, no, there were a few rare cases of it being recorded. Of course, Lena would be one of those people. Why wouldn’t the universe add shitty soul mate luck into the long list of misfortunes in Lena’s life? What’s one more curse, right?
See, Kara’s her soul mate but...Lena isn’t Kara’s.
“You look like shit, Luthor. You’re allowed to take a break you know?”
It’s Alex who breaks her out of her reverie. She prays to God that Alex doesn't notice her shaking hands. She’s well aware she looks like shit. She feels like shit, she doesn’t need Alex of all people to point that one out. But now, Lena notices that the whole place is empty, she didn’t even notice J’onn slip out. She didn’t even notice Alex coming in too, really.
Brainy had long passed-out in one of the beds in the MedBay in the 2nd level of The Tower, Nia taking up the opposite bed. There was a brief moment when she walked in that made her feel tempted to occupy the third bed and take a break. But then, her chest tightened and a flare of pain lit up her whole insides, it was reason enough to keep her feet moving and back unto the computers trying to pinpoint Kara’s location.
“I know,” she replies, “But it’s really not necessary, Alex. I’ll rest after.”
She doesn’t need rest, what she needs is Kara to be here.
She refuses to look at Alex, fingers flying across the screen. Alex shifts closer to her, lays a hand on her right arm prompting her to stop. Her eyes land on Alex's hand and continue up to Alex’s eyes.
“We’ll find her, Lena. But you have to rest. I’m serious, Luthor. Come on,” Alex persists, wrapping her hand more firmly and tugging at Lena to follow her.
She doesn’t say that rest will do her more harm than good. She doesn’t say that if she closes her eyes all she would see is Kara’s body floating all alone in space and the pain would start anew.
First, her chest and then travelling up the rest of her body until all there is is pain.
She doesn’t say that she needs to work in order to distract her from the pain.
Instead, she holds her tongue, lets Alex bring her to the 2nd level and tries to have the most fitful sleep of her life.
***
It gets worse on the 5th day of the second week. It really isn’t a surprise considering this is the longest she’s had to go without Kara around.
She’s taken mega-doses of painkillers in anticipation for today. Last night was a nightmare, she had to bite down on a hand towel as waves of pain assaulted her, again and again and again.
When morning came, it slowly subsided. Once feeling had returned to her legs she ran into the kitchen and swallowed 3 pills immediately.
It doesn’t matter if she’s taken 3 or 4 or a whole bottle today, because it will just get worse and worse the longer Kara isn’t by her side.
And so, she drags herself into The Tower again, because she needs to finally find a way to bring her back.
She tries to ignore the tightening of her chest even though she’s really having a hard time breathing now. Not to mention the pain behind her eyes that is bit by bit making it difficult for her to coordinate with Brainy’s computations.
She’s taken to keeping a bottle of pills on her person now. Opting to take them dry as if they were mint candies to keep her tongue moving while programming lines of codes.
She thinks she’s still being subtle.
Well, she is.
Until she isn’t.
She crumples to the floor in front of everyone and a guttural scream of pain breaks free from her lips.
***
When she wakes it’s to Alex sitting by her bedside.
She lets out a groan in response to the sore feeling of her entire body. It’s like the time they were forced to do team building exercises all day in Mt. Helena and Lena nearly passed out.
Alex hands her a bottle of water. She sips greedily before handing it back and wiping her mouth.
“Hey? How you feeling?”
“Like I wanna die.”
Alex sighs and Lena intentionally avoids her eyes.
“It’s Kara isn’t it?” Alex says and Lena doesn’t bother with lying anymore.
“It is.”
“How you survived almost two weeks away from her, I wouldn’t know. Two days away from Kelly—” Alex breaks off, inhales deeply and then sighs again, “That’s already torture for me.”
“I’ve had a lot of practice,” She retorts flatly, hands fiddling with the rough edges of the blanket. Alex looks like she wants to say something about that but Lena beats her there.
“How?” She asks, gesturing to the IV drip. How am I not feeling pain right now? How am I still breathing? How am I still alive?
“The DEO created a special fluid for agents,” Alex reveals, “They distribute it to agents on field assignments. That way, them and their partners don’t die from pain. Good thing, J’onn had a stash hidden here, well, we always thought it would be for me and Kelly. Never expected you, Luthor.”
Lena takes that in for a moment. So, the DEO had a special formula of Dextrose to stave off the pain of soulmate separation and apparently she’s using up all the remaining bags of it.
And it’s not even supposed to be for her.
“Don’t worry about it. Brainy can replicate the formula.”
Worry must’ve shown on her face. So, she works on schooling her features again, she knows that Alex is itching to ask her questions but is trying to be polite.
There’s really no use hiding anything now though.
“K-Kara’s my soulmate,” she finally says out loud, and she’s always thought that it’s supposed to feel cathartic and freeing but instead it just feels heavy.
“But I’m not hers,” she quickly finishes, better to rip the band-aid off. She briefly looks at Alex, whose face doesn’t give her anything; mouth a tight line and eyes shining with curiosity.
She doesn’t know if Alex had ever had a conversation with Kara about soul mates before. Had they talked about it? Had Kara ever mentioned Lena acting too clingy whenever they don’t see each other for a short period of time? Had Kara ever told Alex if she would want a soul mate of her own?
But the look and silence from Alex’s side makes Lena refrain from asking.
Instead, she starts to tell her how it had hit her the instant Kara walked in her office. How there was a zing! and her brain had immediately screamed HER. That’s the one. She’s the one.
How when they met eyes and Kara had told her her name it felt like Lena’s soul finally found her home.
“I asked for her name and I kind of thought she’d wait for me to get out of the office,” Lena trails off and Alex takes it for what it is.
Their first meeting was all sparks for Lena but then, the conversation kept going and going and Clark had tried interrogating her and Kara didn’t do anything.
Didn’t approach her afterwards, didn’t show any reaction that might’ve given Lena a clue that she felt the way Lena did.
A conclusion was easily reached.
Kara was hers but she wasn’t Kara’s.
After the initial shock settled in, Lena set to work. Because that was what she did best. Work out a solution to everything and anything that poses a problem.
How many people have dreamed about meeting their soul mate? How many years had Lena sat there hoping that tomorrow maybe, maybe she’ll finally meet them? She never expected this, never expected her soul to find a home that isn’t hers.
Staying away from Kara was a non-starter, it’s only been a day since they parted but Lena can already feel the beginnings of pain. Slow but sharp shots of throbbing from behind her eyes then came the shaky hands then the dizziness and then—
They became friends and Lena made sure Kara didn’t know anything about her growing need to be close to her; didn't let Kara know about the fact that the universe made Lena its most epic punchline yet.
She agreed to scheduled game nights and movie nights and lunch dates. She never knew the pain of soulmate separation during those early days. Kara was always around; bringing her a salad, covering an L-Corp gala, crashing on Lena’s couch.
“It was easy, you know? Kara was always there. What are friends for?” Lena mimics Kara and then repeats somberly, “It was easy, Alex.”
Or at least, Lena kept telling herself it was easy. She had it easy. She didn’t have to think about painkiller pills or cutting her business trips short—because the pain becomes unbearable too soon—like so many of her board members do.
She had it easy with Kara, she can just call and she’ll be there.
Until, Kara started going MIA. And for three days pain overtook her entire life. The pain made her unable to think clearly, the pills kicking in at the last minute.
“You haven't been around. Supergirl's been there for me. Person who judges me on the very premise of my last name, but my best friend hasn't,” she accuses because Goddamnit Kara has no idea what kind of shit Lena had to endure with her going away with no warning.
Logically, Lena knows it’s partly her fault.
She knows that if she only just told Kara that she needs her to live, Kara would stay. But she doesn’t want anything to change.
Of course, Kara would stay, it was the kind of thing a person like her would do.
Kara would take care of her, whatever Lena needed she would give.
But Lena didn’t want things that way.
She wants Kara to want her the same way she wants her.
But no, Lena’s not going to tell her that. She is never going to know. She will find an alternative. So, she injects as much venom as she can into that accusation, “B-but maybe it’s better if I leave.”
She makes Kara leave.
She just got her cure back and immediately Lena had pushed her away. The moment Kara stepped out of the door, a dull throb already kicked in her chest; as if telling Lena she was making a big mistake.
She regretted that night so much, Jess had to drag her drunken body out of her office.
Then it became normal again and Lena went back to not worrying about body pains again.
Because a different kind of pain is trying to make itself known.
A gaping hole in her heart that is entirely unrelated to the biological consequences of being separated from your soul mate.
She was falling in love.
She was falling in love and she wasn’t prepared for how it would hurt to have Kara not love her back. She can endure the physical pain, there are pills for that.
But there wasn’t any type of medication to see your other half everyday and not have them see you as theirs.
When Lex told her Kara’s secret. Something broke inside of her. Which was saying something, considering she was getting her heart broken every single day that Kara wouldn’t look her way.
But to know how stupid she’s been? To realize that the flutter of her heart whenever Supergirl was near was her brain telling her it was Kara?
There was no word for that.
“I think, I kept rejecting the idea of Supergirl being Kara you know?” Lena huffs out, laughs drily, “Imagine how fucking painful it would be, Alex, if Supergirl was my soul mate. This person who didn’t trust me wholly, who lies behind my back, imagine if she was my soul mate? It would have felt humiliating. My body knew better, though,” she admitted sadly.
“When Lex told me, all the little painful outbursts every time Supergirl flew away? It made sense. Everything made sense, but at the same time? Everything hurt too.”
She tried hurting her back. Created Hope. Experimented with Q-waves. Foolishly used Myriad. Teamed up with Lex.
But even through all of those? The separation pain never knocked her out.
Even when they were fighting, Kara was still always around. Even when the world—the fucking multiverse got reset. The pain wasn’t enough to knock her out. Not like today.
Because Kara was always lingering around convincing her not to join Lex, crossing paths in CatCo, flying into her home even if it was to call her a villain.
All of those interactions were still sustenance for Lena.
But this? This separation? This knowledge that Kara was somewhere out there, unreachable. That she could be lightyears away in space and it has been two weeks since Lena had last saw her, it has her every molecule shouting to go find Kara.
“It’s never been like this before,” Lena confesses, “I thought I could do it without-”
“Help?” Alex supplies and Lena finally turns to her and she feels a hand squeeze her.
“Yeah.” She mutters back softly.
“Well, that’s where you’re wrong, Luthor. You’re part of the team now whether you like it or not. We are going to help you, we’re going to find a temporary solution for that pain and then we’ll get back to work and we’ll find Kara.”

All in the Family
Chapters: 1/1 Words: 4,150 Fandom: Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Luna Lovegood/Ginny Weasley, Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter Characters: Ginny Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Draco Malfoy Additional Tags: Harry Potter Epilogue What Epilogue | EWE, Post-Canon, Established Relationship, Both Linny and Drarry, Meet the Family, The Talk, Mentions of Ginny having tattoos, because she'd look awesome in tattoos and i just had to add that in, POV Ginny Weasley, POV Draco Malfoy
Summary: There comes a time in many romantic relationships when you have to meet the family. It’s usually nerve-wracking and awkward and something to be dreaded. Take a peek into Ginny’s and Draco’s minds during this step.
Story:
Ginny took a deep breath and squinted at her image in the mirror. She looked like her usual self, but a little neater: hair in a sleek ponytail, skin tanned from hours of practice and games, far too many freckles for her liking, but not a thing she could help, brightly colored tattoos wiggling on her arms. She smoothed hands over cropped jeans that probably sported a few too many holes. Did the green shirt make her look like a Christmas tree? No, Luna called it kelly green, not Christmas green. She said it complimented her skin and freckles, which she liked far better than Ginny did. She smiled at the thought.
“You look lovely, dear,” the mirror told her. But the mirror always said that, being owned by Luna who was (1) Ginny’s girlfriend and therefore prone to overcomplimenting and (2) a ball of sunshine even in the darkest times and would never own a mirror that wasn’t similarly inclined.
“It’s not too butch? Is it butch enough? I need to give the perfect impression here: respectable but not a floor mat. Meeting the family doesn’t happen every day.”
“You look like a beautiful summer day.”
Ginny huffed. Help would not come from this corner, apparently. She was about to call in her girlfriend, but Luna must have felt Ginny’s need, as she somehow always did, because she wandered in just then, putting on her earrings as she walked. She beamed.
“You look like a beautiful summer day!”
Ginny could feel the mirror puffing up behind her. She rolled her eyes.
“But is it good for a first impression?”
Keep reading below the cut
Luna frowned and tilted her head. “But it’s not a first impression. You’ve known him for years.”
“But not …” Ginny began, waving her arms when the words wouldn’t come. “Not like this. With romantic intention or whatever.” She wiped sweaty hands on her trousers again. “I have to give off a specific impression today. I have to be firm but, ugh, friendly.”
“You’re always friendly.” Luna smiled dreamily. “I remember when we first met, when your family invited mine to dinner. Your brothers were so loud, and you were too at first. It was overwhelming. But then you stopped fighting with them and came over to me. You smiled like the sun and said, ‘I like your hat.’”
“It was a very cool hat.”
They hadn’t seen much of each other before Hogwarts, but Ginny had always liked the rare occasions she got to spend with the odd, quiet little girl who was one of her nearest wizarding neighbors. She was so much the opposite of the rowdy Weasleys—calm, thoughtful, so very smart, and most importantly, a girl her age. It was peaceful and fun being with Luna.
Realizing how good being around Luna felt was what made Ginny finally break things off with Harry the year before. Harry was always in slight opposition to whatever life threw at him. Yes, he weathered storms durably, but he was never … comfortable. Content. Even after she talked him out of joining the aurors—which had at least taken off some of the pressure to be the perfect Boy Who Lived Twice—he still seemed restless. Even with Ginny. Especially with Ginny. So she’d let go of her dream of marrying the boy she’d had a crush on for as long as she could remember and soon after had fallen into the arms of someone who made her feel more wanted and loved and perfect than she’d ever felt before. Life was better now, with Luna to help ground her. Perhaps Ginny had been at odds with life too. She and Harry were very alike in some ways.
Which brought her back to her current dilemma.
“I’m not going for happy summer day vibes, though.”
Luna’s eyebrows crinkled. “What vibes are you aiming for then?”
Ginny rubbed an arm. “Ummm. Respectable but intimidating?” At the skeptical look from her girlfriend, she continued. “I can be intimidating.”
Luna smiled softly and laid her hands on Ginny’s cheeks. “Of course you are. You wouldn’t be a starting chaser for the Holyhead Harpies if you weren’t intimidating.”
Ginny snorted. “Are you ever going to get tired of stating my full position title? I was moved up to starter, like, four months ago.”
“Never!” Luna said with a grin.
After giving her a quick peck on the lips, Ginny turned back to the mirror, and Luna put her arms around her waist from behind. “Why do you need to be intimidating for family dinner?”
“Because it’s not just family dinner. It’s meet the family dinner. I have to give the right impression.”
“Which would be intimidating?” Luna’s breath and the vibration of her voice tickled Ginny’s neck. She liked it.
“Yes.”
“Even though you’ve met before. Many times.”
“Yes.”
There was a pause. “I still don’t get it.”
Ginny sighed and turned in her girlfriend’s arms. “This is Harry.”
“Whom you’ve known since you were ten. Whom you’ve dated. Twice.”
“I don’t want to intimidate Harry.”
Understanding smoothed out Luna’s face and widened her eyes. “Oh. You’re protective of him.”
“Yes!”
“Is Draco intimidatable?”
“Is intimidatable a word?”
“It is now.”
“Then yes, he is. I remember his pointy little ferret face completely blanching when I threatened him with hexes.” Good times …
“Your bat bogey hex is pretty frightening. Also, you should be nice.”
“It’s fucking Malfoy. I’m still not sure how Harry is even dating him. And I’m ninety percent sure I don’t like that they’re dating. Ugh. Malfoy. I’m getting annoyed just thinking about it.” She buried her face in Luna’s shoulder. She smelled like lilacs and sparkles. Ginny wasn’t sure how she managed the latter, but it was true. She smelled like sparkles. It was nice.
“You promised Harry you’d stop hating him. And you promised your father before that.”
“Ugh. I know. But it’s Malfoy. He’s an arse!”
“Ginny.” Luna’s voice turned stern, as it only rarely did, so Ginny straightened up.
“Sorry. I really am trying. It’s just … Harry hated him for so long, and he used to say such mean things to us, especially to Hermione. My brain has trouble believing he’s changed enough for Harry to fall for him. Are you certain he’s not under a spell or love potion?”
“Ginny.”
“Yeah, I know.” She sighed. “He helped you when you were a prisoner at the manor. And he kept Harry from being recognized. It’s just …”
“It’s hard to flip around what you knew about him all through school.”
“Mmm,” Ginny grunted in agreement, going in for another hug. Luna hugs were the best. She always felt so protected and calmed in a Luna hug.
Luna tightened her arms in a squeeze before letting go and stepping back. “I think the dark gray button-down and the obsidian necklace I got you for your birthday, if you’re going for intimidating.”
Ginny raised her eyebrows before shucking the green tee and rifling through the wardrobe for the suggested top instead. “You’re helping me?”
“Well, I was actually going to suggest it anyway. George told me that since Bill isn’t able to come, you should give Draco the ‘you hurt him, and I break your kneecaps’ talk. Ron can’t give it, because he’ll just get yell-y, and he’s not terribly intimidating even like that. And George is afraid he might actually break Draco’s kneecaps, and he can’t go to Azkaban right now, what with the baby on the way. And Percy would just put him to sleep explaining the details.”
Laughing as she buttoned up her shirt, Ginny privately agreed. Being a professional athlete meant she’d had to learn rein in her temper, and she’d always been closest to Bill in temperament anyway. “We could ask Charlie to swoop in on a dragon. That might work.”
“George asked, but apparently he’s busy watching over this year’s births. He offered to send a howler though.” Luna’s expression said that she thought these were perfectly reasonable suggestions.
That sounded about right for her brothers too. “We’ll keep that tactic on reserve in case my intimidation doesn’t work. I dunno about being the one giving the talk, though. I thought I was just going to glare at him across the table all through dinner …” She finished rolling up her sleeves to her elbows, letting the bottom half of her tattoo sleeves show on her forearms. She eyed her image critically. “Better? Are you sure about the necklace? I need to be more butch, don’t I? To be intimidating?”
Luna shook her head, taking the ends of said necklace to clasp them behind Ginny’s neck. “Draco likes classy. He’d probably be more impressed if you wore black trousers, but then you wouldn’t be you.” She wrinkled her nose, and Ginny agreed with the sentiment. She lived in jeans and trainers, only owning black trousers to wear at semi-formal events for work. Not to mention that her brothers, Harry included, would take the mickey if she showed up in something beyond her regular clothes.
She sighed a final time and turned to her girlfriend. “Okay, let’s get this over with. Ugh. But I swear, if he is at all acting like an arsehole, I will cut a bitch.”
***
Draco wiped his sweaty palms on the sofa fabric for the eightieth time in the twenty minutes he’d been at the Weasley abode. He’d met them all before, of course. Most of them had attended school with him. And he’d seen them at his trial. Arthur had even been kind enough to shake his hand after he’d been cleared of the worst of his charges. Granted, it hadn’t been completely out of kindness. Draco’s community service sentence had been to work in Arthur’s office for two years after his release, so he’d also been officially introducing himself as Draco’s supervisor. But even with the formality of it, Arthur had seemed kind. Serious, yes, but not in any way malicious or aloof, which was more than how the Malfoys had addressed the Weasleys in the past.
And Draco had quickly become comfortable around the eccentric man. Arthur might come off as a bit kooky, but he was ever the professional at work, and Draco appreciated that, along with being so thankful that the man wouldn’t continue to punish him for his past (terrible) choices. So yes, he’d worked with Arthur for two years, and gone to school with most of the other Weasleys, but this was different. This wasn’t just dinner with friendly acquaintances (though only Arthur fell into that category), this was meeting the family as the romantic partner of their practically adopted son/brother.
He and Harry hadn’t been dating that long, and the only Weasleys he’d interacted with since the relationship had begun were Percy and Ron. Percy was fine, if a little dry, and even Ron had graduated from angry scowls to only looking like he had a slightly upset stomach. But the other Weasleys were more unknown. Luckily Bill and Charlie were busy, so tonight that only left Molly, George, and Ginny (“if you call her the Weaselette, Draco, I will hurt you,” Luna had warned during their latest tea date). At least he’d had some interactions with Molly and George back when he and Harry were still just friends and he had with Arthur for two years, but Ginny he probably hadn’t said a dozen words to since they’d left school.
So even though the brothers might be intimidating, Ginny was the unknown. Harry swore they were completely over each other, and closer now as almost siblings than they had been as paramours, but Draco wasn’t sure what to think of her. He’d tossed out jealousy pretty early. Harry only ever spoke of her in the fond way of close friends/family. But that still left a lot of unknowns. He’d been on the wrong end of her hexes on several occasions, and she was a chaser for a professional quidditch team (one of the scariest teams out there, no less), so he knew she had both bark and bite. It was likely she’d employ some intimidation tactics, but would it stop there? Was she jealous of him? He didn’t think so, hearing Luna wax poetic about her constantly during their tea dates. But there could still be some genuine hate from her. Nothing he didn’t deserve, though.
He wished Luna and Ginny would just show up already, so he could get this dinner thing over with. Harry warned that there would probably be a “hurt him and I’ll hurt you” threat taking place that evening, but he didn’t know who had drawn the short straw on that. Unless they went in for a four-pronged attack from all of the present siblings. Merlin, he hoped not.
As if he’d summoned them with his thoughts, the two women burst through the door, calling out greetings to everyone else. Ginny headed for the kitchen without a glance at Draco, but Luna brightened further and made a beeline for the sofa.
She gave him a quick hug. “I would say you clean up well except …”
“Except I always look this good?”
“I was going to say except that you could still use some work, but if you want to go with yours, that’s fine. What’s important is that you believe it.” Her smile was deceptively serene, and the glitter in her hair and the fairy necklace didn’t help present her as anything other than innocent. But Draco knew better after years of slowly cultivating their friendship.
Draco clutched his heart in mock hurt. “Harsh. When does the girlfriend start full-time training again? I think you’re spending too much time together.”
Luna’s effervescent smile dimmed a little. “In three weeks. This will be our first full season as a couple. From what I gather, I’ll barely see her between the start of training and their first season game.”
Draco felt similar trepidation. School would be starting soon, and Harry would be a full-time professor for the first time this year. He’d spent the last few years tutoring and job shadowing while waiting for the current DADA professor to retire, so they were somewhat used to being apart as friends, but never as a couple.
(It was odd knowing that Hogwarts had employed the same DADA professor for six years running; odder still to think of perpetual disaster Harry James Potter as a professor. Draco really wished he’d use the hair potion Draco had bought him a few weeks ago; he needed to look more professional, but Harry had argued that if Dumbledore and Snape could get away with long, shaggy hair, so could he. Draco knew a losing argument when he saw one, so he’d given up after a week.)
Beyond Harry’s soon-to-be-full schedule after a summer of freedom, the two of them had only been dating for a few months, and Draco wasn’t sure how the change in daily routine would affect them. Harry tried to subdue the worries, but Draco saw that he was hiding some qualms of his own. They’d each only been in one prior relationship, so there was a chance that any change would break them apart.
Luna, reading his mind, as always, swooped in for another hug. “It’ll be fine,” she whispered in his ear before pulling back. How did she do that? “Your face, silly. You’re an open book. Not to mention, I got to hear you list your worries ad nauseum during tea last week.”
She had him there. “I just want tonight to be over already.”
“Mmmm,” she hummed in sympathy. “I remember how my meet-the-family dinner went. Oh! I wanted to warn you. Ginny’s giving you The Talk tonight.”
Draco leaned back in surprise. “Just her?” If any single one of the Weasleys was going to give him The Talk, he’d have expected one of the older ones, or maybe Ron, because he and Harry were best friends. But Draco had never expected The Talk from solely the youngest (and only female) sibling. Her status as the baby should have kept her out of the running. Just because Draco lived in constant slight terror to this day of being hit by one of her hexes, he didn’t expect the others to feel the same.
“Well, she’s most similar to Bill, isn’t she. The others know you’d respect it more coming from her.”
“Yeah, I reckon. Do you know when she’s going to do it?”
Before she could answer, Ginny entered the sitting room and addressed the others who peppered the space. “George and Ron, Harry and Dad need help outside.”
The two men looked up from where they were brainstorming new ideas for the shop, shrugged, then left the room. Hermione looked up from the baby jumper she was knitting for George and Angelina’s upcoming baby—at least, she said it was a jumper; it looked more like a lumpy blue snowball with arms.
“They’re not still trying to charm the new car, are they?” Ginny gave her a “what do you think” look, and Hermione sighed, dropped the knitting, and followed the others outside.
“I’m going to see if Molly and Angelina want help in the kitchen,” Luna added with a sympathetic look at Draco before hurrying out as well, the traitor.
Draco took a deep breath. “So it’s to be you, then? Lose a bet?”
Ginny looked a little stunned, then reluctantly amused. She dropped down onto the coffee table across from him. “I’d like to think I won.”
She leaned forward to rest her elbows on her knees, and the dragon tattoo on her right arm blew out an inky flame, as if to back her up. She looked more serious than usual, which was enhanced by the dark button-down she wore, so in opposition to her usual bright but scruffy t-shirts. She still sported holey trousers and her grungy trainers, though, but she made it work. Or maybe Draco was just getting inured to the sloppy look, dating someone who wore the same style like a uniform. He looked down to see that he still had on his own high-end trousers and button-down and relaxed a bit in relief.
He waved a hand so she’d get started. The sooner they talked, the sooner they’d be done, the sooner dinner would be done, the sooner he could get back home and revel in the warmth of Harry’s body in bed next to his (Harry called it cuddling, but Draco never would, ugh).
She raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. “Look. I know Dad respects you, so I learned to stop hating you a while ago.” She sighed. “And for whatever strange reason, Luna likes you, so I can admit that you’ve probably changed from the utter fucking dickhead you were in school.”
Draco choked on his own saliva. He’d forgotten she had the same sailor mouth Harry did. Or maybe he’d never known. It shouldn’t have been a surprise, given her whole … persona. Still, Luna was all rainbows and puppies about her, and Harry talked about her like a little sister, so he forgot sometimes that she was an adult and a quidditch star with the mouth to go along with it.
She glared, and he cleared his throat. “Yes, thank you. I appreciate that. Go on.”
“Thanks,” she said with so much sarcasm, he could practically hear the “I hate it” she didn’t voice. “So yeah, you’ve changed. You’re a new fucking man. Bright and shiny new leaves turned over. Whatever.” She sat up straight, her eyes boring through Draco so hard, he expected to feel two dots of heat on his forehead. “I’ll even say I’m okay with you two dating, even though it’s completely weird. I never thought I’d see the day someone in our family dated a Malfoy.”
She spit out his name out in a way that made him think back to an altercation their dads had had in Diagon Alley years ago. Harry had been there too, now that he thought about it. Her tone now was the same as Arthur’s had been then. Trying so hard to be a respectful adult, but barely hiding anger underneath. He didn’t think she was quite as okay as she claimed. He really didn’t blame her. His family was bad news. He shrugged, hoping he’d convey that the idea was still weird to him too. Him. Dating Harry Potter. What alternate universe had they fallen into?
“But Harry really likes you,” she continued, “and I trust him. I think.” A wrinkled eyebrow said otherwise, but Draco kept mum. “He’s an adult, and so if he wants to date you, that’s his prerogative. But know this.” She leaned forward again. “You even look at him wrong, and I’ll dropkick you so hard into last Tuesday, that even if we hadn’t destroyed all of the ministry’s time turners, you still wouldn’t be able to get back. Got it?”
He tried to tell himself they were just words. This was a ritual every new boyfriend went through. It was normal. But then again, this was Harry Potter. Nothing about him was normal, and that included his family. Draco had seen Ginevra Weasley in battle, and he’d been subjected to her hexes in school. She’d dated Harry and must therefore know the feeling of wanting to wrap him in cotton fluff and hide him from the cruel world. They weren’t just words to her. She meant business, and he appreciated that. They both wanted the best for Harry, and if Draco failed to be that, he deserved whatever punishment she and her clan would mete out to him.
“Thank you.”
She jerked her head back and frowned. “What?”
“Harry deserves to have the fiercest warriors in his corner. I’m glad he has friends and family who will be that for him.”
“Hm. Yes, he does.” Despite her words, she looked suspicious.
“And, in that vein,” he continued with a spark of realization, “you hurt Luna, and it’ll take them a month remove all the curses from you.”
She cocked her head for a moment, then relaxed her shoulders and almost smiled. “Deal.”
She held out a hand, and he took it, wondering if his own was about to be crushed so hard, he’d need SkeleGrow to knit his bones back together. Her grip was firm to the point of being uncomfortable, but after they shook, all of his bones still seemed to be in place and whole.
A call came from Molly in the kitchen then, so they both stood, back to feeling slightly awkward with each other. Just as they were about to head through the door, Ginny put a hand on his wrist. Draco looked over at her face in question.
“Um, Harry. He’s … he’s really happy these days. The happiest I’ve ever seen him. Thank you.” Her face was soft, and the most open Draco had ever seen it.
“I’m glad you think so.” Uncomfortable with the serious mood coming from a Weasley, he smirked. “Luna seems to be rubbing off on you as well. I think this is the most cleaned up I’ve ever seen you. Not bad, Weasley the Youngest.”
She barked out a short laugh, then got an evil glint in her eye. “I’m glad you approve, since I stole this shirt from your wardrobe. Who wears such drab colors voluntarily? I’d be getting hives from it if I didn’t have my tats to liven it up.”
He let out a surprised laugh of his own, which was drowned out by the lively mess of humans crowding around the kitchen table. He’d survived The Talk with the scariest Weasley (besides Bill). He felt confident he could survive the rest of the family.
***
After they’d apparated back to their flat, Luna jumped on Ginny to give one of the octopus hugs Ginny loved. After a quick peck on her cheek, Luna snuggled closer. “I love you.”
“I love you too. Any particular reason at this moment, or just my general awesomeness?”
Luna giggled. “You are pretty awesome, but it’s not just that this time.”
Realization dawned in Ginny. “Were you spying on my talk with Mal- Draco?”
“No.” Luna shook her head vehemently, eyes wide. “But I saw the way you two looked when you came into the kitchen afterward.”
“Which was …?” Ginny prepared herself for any number bubbly adjectives about to come out of her girlfriend’s mouth.
“Like two adults who have come to an agreement of mutual respect.”
Eyebrow raised, Ginny only said, quite intelligently, “hmm.”
“But also adorable and chummy. I saw the way you were smiling, Ginevra.”
“And there’s the girlfriend I know and love,” Ginny said drily, but she gave said girlfriend a kiss.
“I’m proud of you.”
Ginny grinned. “Good. I like making you proud.”
Luna hummed. “My respectable, beautiful, starting chaser quidditch star girlfriend.”
“That’s me.”

If I was to catch up on Supergirl (watched literally e1 only), would you recommend a strategy? Like "try to avoid season X or skip episode y"? Or should I buckle up for queercoded bad writing and squeeze through? :D
Well, it really depends on what you want to get out of the show. I was watching from e1s1 and really enjoyed that season, and Lena wasn’t even in the picture then. The characters were well written and their stories were fleshed out. Plus we had Cat Grant, Lucy Lane, the Red K episode and Kara’s trauma around Krypton was explored. Plus there were serious vibes between Lucy and Kara (it’s true and I should say it).
Since season one... well, there are absolutely amazing things. Alex’s coming out, Sam, Nia, Brainy and Kelly for starters. Not to mention the obvious, Lena Luthor. Episodes were hit and miss, though I did feel like the overarching plot for season 2,3,4 were ok, if their final execution was a bit meh.
There’s so many problems that just pop up like meerkats, mixed with moments of raw brilliance in regards to the acting. It’s hard to pick out episodes to watch vs episodes to avoid so much as scenes to watch and ones to avoid, and I don’t have a master list for that I’m afraid. As a general rule, I’d avoid most of the Mon-El romance in s2, his character was written badly to say the least, though he’s better in s3 (better being the operative word). Maybe I just liked him more because I loved Imra lol. Hang around for the female centred scenes, and avoid basically everything post-crisis except the 100th, Nia’s episode, and scenes Lena’s in.
Regardless, it’ll probably still be a bumpy ride.

@contradictivs sent INSOMNIA : for one muse to find the other still awake at 3am.
kim had gotten the call from daniel around midnight and the whole conversation had lasted an hour and a half. it wasn't what she'd expected, or maybe it was. they fought a lot and often. a summer without as much of it was really nice, and then they'd managed to fuck that all up with one phone call. ever since the call ended she'd been sitting on the steps of her cabin, watching the stars and trying not to stew. she couldn't help it though, and she couldn't sleep either. it was awful. she looked up from studying the dirt below the steps when she heard someone coming. she breathed a sigh of relief when it wasn't a camper. as soon as ryder was within speaking distance, it all just came out. "my fucking boyfriend broke up with me again! how could he do that? it's not even like we're apart for that long and he can't live without me! what the hell?"
#contradictivs#rip ryder you get introduced to her shithead on again off again boyfriend#*[ KELLY K : STARTERS ]#character : kim kelly

@balisongz sent ❝ i didn't lie, i simply presented a selective truth. ❞ / bill haverchuck
kim's expression showed how absolutely unamusing she thought he was. "so you lied, that's lying." she sighed. the worst thing was, she understood exactly why he'd done it. she did it too. regularly. the difference was, usually she was the one doing the doing and not on the receiving end of it. "are you proud of yourself, twerp?," she raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest and waiting for a response. she wanted to know why he'd done it. she wanted to know what motivated bill to lie to her. she was upset, but she was also pleasantly surprised.
bill, nerdy geeky bill, managed to impress her once again by lying. that was crazy. how impressed she might feel didn't change the fact that he'd let her go into a situation assuming one thing when there was actually a whole lot of missing information. "spill! what did you leave out?"

DECEMBER 2019 DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of January 7 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: November schedule posts are due by the end of December 7 KST.
Overall Company
Renovations continue on the new building the company will be moving into in 2020 and everything is ahead of schedule so far. Lucid’s impressive comeback this month reassures the higher ups that there’s only room for the company to grow and the involvement of Unity in a cross-company unit with BC Entertainment is proof they’re being taken seriously as one of the top three companies..
Important dates:
N/A
Dimensions Soloist 1
For most of the month, she’s granted a vacation as a reward for all of her hard work touring and promoting this year, but Dimensions has scheduled her to help volunteer at a local soup kitchen for the elderly on Christmas day with some of her label mates. It’ll look good in the press and help boost her image positively, even if it doesn’t give the thrill of performing
Important dates:
December 25: Volunteering at local soup kitchen for the elderly (also volunteering: Dimensions Soloist 2, Gal.actic, and MARS).
Dimensions Soloist 2
Before he begins preparations for another comeback in the new year, Dimensions has scheduled him for some positive media play by signing him up to volunteer at a local soup kitchen for the elderly alongside the other company soloist as well as Gal.actic and MARS to feed his caring and thoughtful image.
Important dates:
December 16: Filming of Idol Star Athletics Championships in Seoul, South Korea (also attending: Knight, Lipstick, CHARM, Alien, 7ROPHY, Lucid, and Aria.)
December 25: Volunteering at local soup kitchen for the elderly (also volunteering: Dimensions Soloist 1, Gal.actic, and MARS).
Gal.actic
While some of their company mates have comebacks or attend year-end festivals, Gal.actic continues to prepare for their own comeback by learning and endlessly rehearsing the choreography for their title track, “B.B.B”. Clean choreography is especially important for this comeback as Dimensions plans to send them out for more concert and fan meetings opportunities in 2020. Near the end of the month, they’ll have stage outfit fittings to prepare for teaser and MV shooting next month. The members will be granted New Year’s Eve off from practice this year, but on Christmas day, they’ll be volunteering alongside MARS and the company soloists at a local soup kitchen for the elderly. The crowd they’re serving are likely unfamiliar with their work (which may be for the better), but it’s all for appearance’s sake anyway.
Important dates:
December 25: Volunteering at local soup kitchen for the elderly (also volunteering: Dimensions Soloist 1, Dimensions Soloist 2, and MARS).
December 27: Stage outfit fittings.
Alien
Alien has a break from their tour this month to focus on activities closer to home like award shows and year-end festivals, but they also have a brief stint in the US to perform as a part of iHeart Radio’s Jingle Ball lineup. On the 12th in New York, in between Jingle Ball performances, they’ll have a meeting with their US management to discuss plans for 2020 onward, which will include more all English singles and plans for an all English album.
Important dates:
December 4: Mnet Asian Music Awards at Nagoya Dome in Nagoya, Japan (also attending: BC Soloist 1, BEE, CHARM, WISH, 7ROPHY, Gold Star Soloist 2, Origin, and Impulse).
December 9: Performance at Jingle Ball at Xcel Energy Center in Minneapolis, MN, USA.

MARS
The MARS members continue preparation for their January concert and continue to be filmed all throughout preparations. The focus will be on performance rehearsals this month (see November’s schedule for special stages) and getting fittings out of the way. Dimensions will also be using them to get some positive media play this month too by having them volunteer to help out at a soup kitchen for the elderly on Christmas day with their labelmates Gal.actic and the company soloists, and hosting a fan sign with canned food donations as the lottery entry for access.
Important dates:
December 7: Initial concert outfit fittings.
December 9: Holiday charity fan sign in Songpa, Seoul.
December 25: Volunteering at local soup kitchen for the elderly (also volunteering: Dimensions Soloist 1, Dimensions Soloist 2, and Gal.actic).
December 27: Second concert outfit fittings.
7ROPHY
Their comeback is next month, so December is filled with hours is the dance studio and time at the salon. Stage outfits, teaser photos, and the music video for the single are all taken care of this month for a seamless transition into promotions in January without anything getting in the way. Dimensions is already looking to the future and promising a second comeback in the first half of the year with a mini-album, though it’s not clear whether that says something positive or negative about their expectations for the upcoming digital single.
Important dates:
December 10: Comeback stage outfit fittings.
December 11: Performance at DongA Sports Awards in Seoul, South Korea (also performing: Lucid).
December 16: Filming of Idol Star Athletics Championships in Seoul, South Korea (also attending: Knight, Lipstick, CHARM, Dimensions Soloist 2, Alien, Lucid, and Aria)

Unity
While Dimensions begins to prepare the three members chosen for CHAMPION, Unity’s schedule is actually relatively calm for once. They have two schedules in the US to attend, but then they return to Seoul and the news that Dimensions plans to open a network of YouTube channels for Unity in the new year to help promote them. This is an expansion of Dimensions’ interest in YouTube as a promotional tool as they’ve been testing with MARS. To kick off the channel, they’re going to have the members film a series of selfcams in a 24 hour relay assigned as follows (three hours for each member, with CHAMPION unit members getting an additional hour):

↳ CHAMPION
On the 8th of the month (in the morning, before the self-cam relay starts), Unity’s leader/main rapper/vocal, main dancer/rapper/vocal, and lead rapper/vocal are brought in to a meeting at the BC Entertainment building. They’re not told why, but when they arrive at the meeting room, they’re joined by Decipher’s maknae/main dancer/lead vocal and Knight’s main vocal 2 and main dancer/vocal/rapper. Representatives from management announce to them that they’ve been chosen as members of a BC and Dimensions joint sub-unit effort in collaboration with an American music label. The group will be called CHAMPION and will be marketed as “the Avengers of K-Pop” with a goal of capturing the hearts of the American market and will be a major focus for both companies in 2020. Debut album preparations will not begin until the new year, but this month, the members will begin to be pushed into English lessons in addition to public speaking and US-specific media training both individually and all together. The members have been hand-picked for their performance ability and perceived potential execution of the supergroup concept by top executives of their respective companies. BC Entertainment will work alongside the American label in marketing and management for the sub-group while Dimensions will mostly focus on the group’s music and concepts. This is a major and planned-to-be permanent project between the two companies, with a higher budget for their debut than is planned for any of their respective original groups’ next comebacks and plans for a tour are already underway before they’ve even been announced to the public. This information is all dropped on the chosen members during the meeting. Before leaving, the members are told that the news is meant to be kept strictly secret from the public with no spoilers or hints yet, as a careful promotional campaign is planned for its unveiling.
Important dates:
December 8: Announcement meeting.
Lucid
Their comeback this month is a runaway success, earning them their first number one single and their first (of many this promotion period) music show win. By all metrics, it’s the most successful song to come from a Dimensions group this year and also one of the most successful songs released from any girl group in 2019. Their perceived rookie spirit is what led to such interest in them in the first place, though, so Dimensions is careful not to praise them too much for their success. Their radio show promotions seem endless on top of music show promotions, which include a special Christmas stage covering “Feliz Navidad” on Music Bank as one of the groups promoting during the Christmas season. The three dancers of the group and the lead vocal will also do a special stage cover of Silhouette’s “Bad Girl Good Girl” at this year’s Gayo Daejeon alongside their first performances ever at all three Gayos.
Important dates:
December 2: Release of “Rough” & Snowflake showcase, promotions continue until January 2.
December 4: Guesting on KBS Cool FM Kiss The Radio radio show.
December 5: Guesting on SBS Power FM Old School radio show.
December 6: Guesting on MBC FM4U Dreaming Radio radio show.
December 7: Fansign in Mapo, Seoul.
December 8: Fansign in Hongdae, Seoul.
December 9: Guesting on SBS Power FM Love Game radio show.
December 10: Guesting on SBS Power FM Power Time radio show.
December 11: Performance at DongA Sports Awards in Seoul, South Korea (also performing: 7ROPHY).
December 12: Guesting on MBC FM4U Songs of Hope.
December 14: Guesting on MBC FM Moonlight Paradise.
December 15: Fansign in Incheon.
December 16: Filming of Idol Star Athletics Championships in Seoul, South Korea (also attending: Knight, Lipstick, CHARM, Dimensions Soloist 2, Alien, 7ROPHY, and Aria.)
December 20: Feliz Navidad special stage on Music Bank broadcast.

@thebrxkenfatales gets a plotted starter
Winn often thought of National City and everyone he left behind. In fact he was constantly checking headlines and reading about just how amazing Supergirl had been doing. Every time he did he felt like he was back on the other coast, helping Kara create her supersuit, watching her become a hero.
And he felt guilty, he really did. But it was just so much, the possibility of becoming like this father, it was too great in National City. He had to go, he had to get away. And everything that happened after? He never expected that it would happen, Broadway was never on his list. But now the world knew him as Owen Lucian and there was no going back. Instead all he could do was stay along for the ride.
His hands were shoved in his pockets as he neared the theater, ready for another show. He loved getting to play Jack Kelly, it was a role that he understood. And the fact that he got to tell an incredible story every night? Well that was even better. It was bitter cold outside and all he wanted to do was get in his dressing room and sit under the heater for hours.
But then he saw it, a face that he hadn’t seen in over a year and a half. The face of his best friend, the one that he was hopelessly in love with. The one that no matter how far he went away he missed every single moment. The one that he left without a goodbye, nothing but a note. And he couldn’t help himself as he took a step forward. “K-kara?” He asked as he took a small step closer to her.
He knew that it was a bad idea, that they were out on the street and it might not even be her. But he was sure, he could tell Kara anywhere.

20 Paperbacks to add to your TBR
Real talk: we can all agree hardcovers make for gorgeous collectors’ items, but there are times when only a paperback will do. They’re easier on the wallet, way more portable for reading on the go and they’re easy to conceal (oh, say, for some sneaky reading during family functions). Here are 20 new and upcoming paperbacks we wouldn’t want to live without:
The Black Witch by Laurie Forest
Powerful magic. A deadly legacy. A world at the edge of war.
Evil looms on the horizon, and for Elloren Gardner, granddaughter of the last Black Witch, pressure to live up to her magical heritage is building. Elloren’s people, the Gardnerians, believe she will follow in her grandmother’s footsteps. But Elloren is utterly devoid of power—in a society that prizes magical ability above all else.
Granted the opportunity to study at the prestigious Verpax University, Elloren sets out to embrace a destiny of her own, free from the shadow of her grandmother’s legacy. But the university may be the most treacherous place of all for the granddaughter of the Black Witch, and Elloren soon realizes that the world she knows is not what it seems. If she is to survive the coming danger, she’ll have to free her mind from the assumptions she was raised with, and learn to trust the very people she’s been taught to hate and fear.

(Don’t) Call Me Crazy: 33 Voices Start the Conversation About Mental Health edited by Kelly Jensen
Who’s Crazy?
What does it mean to be crazy? Is using the word crazy offensive? What happens when such a label gets attached to your everyday experiences?
In order to understand mental health, we need to talk openly about it. Because there’s no single definition of crazy, there’s no single experience that embodies it, and the word itself means different things—wild? extreme? disturbed? passionate?—to different people.
(Don’t) Call Me Crazy is a conversation starter and guide to better understanding how our mental health affects us every day. Thirty-three writers, athletes, and artists offer essays, lists, comics, and illustrations that explore their personal experiences with mental illness, how we do and do not talk about mental health, help for better understanding how every person’s brain is wired differently, and what, exactly, might make someone crazy.
If you’ve ever struggled with your mental health, or know someone who has, come on in, turn the pages, and let’s get talking.

Our Own Private Universe by Robin Talley
Fifteen-year-old Aki Simon has a theory. And it's mostly about sex.
No, it isn't that kind of theory. Aki already knows she's bisexual—even if, until now, it's mostly been in the hypothetical sense. Aki has dated only guys so far, and her best friend, Lori, is the only person who knows she likes girls, too.
Actually, Aki's theory is that she's got only one shot at living an interesting life—and that means she's got to stop sitting around and thinking so much. It's time for her to actually do something. Or at least try.
So when Aki and Lori set off on a church youth-group trip to a small Mexican town for the summer and Aki meets Christa—slightly older, far more experienced—it seems her theory is prime for the testing.
But it's not going to be easy. For one thing, how exactly do two girls have sex, anyway? And more important, how can you tell if you're in love? It's going to be a summer of testing theories—and the result may just be love.

#2, 4, 8, 10, 11, 16 and 19?
Yaaaas I knew y’all would come through!
2. Most overrated look?
Tbh Katya’s pants on the runway. I really did like the look and Katya sold the shit out of it! but I think people love it so much because 1) it’s katya and 2) her runway presentation. Its really just a brown tracksuit with yellow accents. Its a good look don’t get me wrong, but some people just go SO unnecessarily crazy for it…
4.Most dissapointing runway theme?
The first Madonna runway OMG THE KIMONOS. I was almost as mad as Raja! Tbh almost every time they’ve done a runway based on a celeb its been kinda meh. The second Madonna one wasn’t that great either and Gaga was alright but I feel like could’ve been better.
8. If queens were no longer allowed to bring clothes but had to make them all during the competition, how do you think that would change things?
Uhh well for starters half the queens that have been on the show in the last few years would be SCREWED lol. Honestly we would probably have very different winners and it would even the playing field for queens like Monique who couldn’t afford to splurge on fancy costumes. Ultimately though it would be very unrealistic because they don’t give the queens enough time to construct a new look every week, plus the sewing challenges would be less exciting because they are essentially doing it every week anyways. However I do think there should be more sewing challenges incorporated into the season overall.
10. Manila Luzon’s pineapple dress or Asia O'hara’s feather dress?
Asia’s feather dress just because I feel like it took camp to another level with the hair and unexpected silhouette. Manila’s was cool for the time but it was very much just a regular dress made to look like a pineapple.
11. Raja’s money ball dress or Shea’s construction worker look?
Raja’s money dress of course. The construction and detail on that garment is incomparable to anything else I’ve seen on the show.
16. Aquaria’s Mermaid Couture or Trinity K Bonet’s Animal Kingdom look?
Ooh shit this is a hard one. I’ll go with Aquaria’s mermaid look just because it was so out of the box and high fashion.
19. Mystique’s Country Realness or Kelly Mantle’s Downton Abbey dress?
LMAO I don’t even remember Kelly Mantle’s and Mystique’s was ICONIC mess so Mystique’s country/mall realness

' spotify wrapped has arrived. send me a number from 1-100 for a starter based on that song, or a lyric from it, or send a 🎁 for me to shuffle. '
@supcrfriends asked: 🎁kara body bag - machine gun kelly ft. yungblud
“ I’m not mad. ” The murmur that slipped free of Alex’s lips, as spiritless as it was quiet, escaped just shy of a self - reproachful quiver.
Mad didn’t come close to factoring into the devastation roosting in the marrow of her bones, the squirming, unsettling discomfiture that weighed down the tear - shimmered line of her gaze. If everything that Kara had spat at her under the influence of Max Lord’s synthetic k held any weight ( that Alex was nothing, nothing but a pale shadow, nothing but the lone participant in a life without meaning except for Kara ), then the only person deserving of her ire was herself. “ I just want us to be better. ”

@contradictivs sent so you lied to me.
"i didn't lie to you!" kim exclaimed, her voice booming out in the parked car. "god, why does everyone have to be such a stickler?" she shifted uncomfortably, frowning as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a cigarette and her lighter. "mind if i smoke?" she asked, not waiting for him to answer before she lit up. at least she rolled down the window a little. if he was going to go around nitpicking shit, she was going to smoke. "i didn't lie! i just didn't tell you how shitty everything at home is. people like other people better when they're not as fucked up."
