The Dollhouse

Pairing: Bucky x reader (1940s!Bucky Dad AU)

Word Count: 2,286

Summary: It’s your daughter’s 4th birthday and Bucky is making her the best surprise ever!

You weren’t sure if was the rain that woke you or the lack of warmth in your bed. Maybe both. Sliding into your slippers you padded with soft feet toward the kitchen. It only took a few steps in your small Brooklyn apartment to reach anyplace and you barely noticed the light coming from under the door of the ‘spare room’ as you walked by.

It wasn’t until you heard the quiet curses of your husband that you realized he was hidden away in there, the soft illumination of the lamp casting a warm glow on his cheek as you watched him from the doorway. He was working on something incredibly special, handling it with the utmost care and his pained mutterings were making you giggle.

“I hope I didn’t wake you, doll,” he whispers, his long fingers delicately holding the smallest door you had ever seen as he gave you a sweet smile over his shoulder. “No, baby, just missed you in bed, I was wondering where you were. How’s it coming?”

He carefully attaches the door, opening and closing it a few times before standing and holding out his hand. “Well, now that I got that on, much better! Come here, have a look.” You shuffle over, handing him a warm cup of tea that he eagerly sips from as you look over his handiwork.

“Oh, Bucky, it’s just so precious and beautiful. Rose is going to be SO HAPPY!” You throw your arms around his neck, forgetting all about the tea as some of it spills onto his pants. “Ooooo, eesh, that’s hot,” he grits out, “but worth it.”

You let out a quiet laugh, “oh, baby, I’m sorry! I’m just so exited!” He places the cup of tea on the floor, picking you up and bringing you onto his lap. “Do you wanna see what I’ve done so far?” he asks, his tone proud.

“You know I do, Buck, show me everything please,” you reply, kissing his warm cheek. He spends the next hour going over all the special details about the dollhouse. Each window shutter is painted with precise detail and attached in just the right spot, the archway over the door and the window flowerpots giving it such charm you could barely stand it.

“I want to live in this house, Bucky, it’s so beautiful! It looks like you’re almost done!” Bucky gives you a wide grin, his hair falling in loose strands over his forehead, “well, sort of, I still have to paint the shingles and do all the furniture!”

“You’re so handsome, you know that,” you whisper, slowly pushing the hair from his face and tracing your fingers down his cheek. Even in the dim lighting of the old lamp you can see the softness in his eyes, “it’s a good thing you married me, then, huh,” he teases, nuzzling his face into your neck.

“Can I help you with any of it?” you ask, as your fingers massage his scalp, “I’d be happy to.” He finally looks up, his eyes looking a bit more tired now, “actually, maybe you can help with some of the shingles then we can go to bed.” “Deal,” you say, sealing it with a kiss.

The two of you spend another hour painting shingle after shingle in a soft pink color, each one no bigger than Bucky’s thumb nail. After doing about 50 you start to lose focus and instead start watching Bucky. His movements are meticulous as he picks up each tiny piece and holds it between his fingers, taking the paintbrush in his other hand and covering every spot in the pretty color.

“What happened, doll, worn out?” he asks with a smile, still concentrating on his latest shingle piece. “Hmmm, oh, well not exactly…” you trail off, running your fingers up his thigh. Placing the piece down he looks you over, “not exactly, what baby?” Biting down on your bottom lip and giving him innocent eyes, you state simply, “I was just enjoying watching you work with your hands, that’s all.”

Bucky washes off his paintbrush, placing it on the towel. He crawls over to you, his hands sneaking under your nightgown to touch the smooth skin of your thighs. “My hands, huh. Something else you’ve got in mind that I could use them for?” Leaning up to brush his lips to yours he runs a finger over the damp patch on your underwear, sucking in a breath, “aw, baby, all this just from seeing me paint shingles.”

Your eyes close and your head rolls back as he continues to rub you through the thin fabric, “let me show you what else these hands can do.” Bucky dips his fingers into the waistband of your underwear, his touch languid as he teases you. “Gotta be quiet for me, doll,” he whispers into your neck before he spends the rest of the night taking you apart with those hands.

You awake to the sound of small feet slapping against the floor as Rose skips into your bedroom, bright eyed and very ready for the day. “Mornin’ mommy! WAKE UP DADDY!” she yells, climbing onto the bed with her stuffed bear. She crawls atop Bucky and sits on his back, “Daddy, daddy, whatcha doing still sleeping, the sun woke up already!” Rose continues poking him as you try to hold back your laughter, the late night leaving you both very satisfied but very tired.

Bucky starts to move his hips, Rose bouncing high into the air and squealing. He quickly flips over and grabs her by the sides, tickling her until she’s screaming in laughter. “DADDY’S UP!” he yells, throwing her small body over his shoulder as he stands up. “And I’m hungry, for tiny feet!” He grabs her feet, bringing her toes to his mouth as he gently nibbles. She erupts into another fit of giggles, calling to you for help.

“Who wants pancakes?” is all you offer as you walk into the kitchen. “Oooohhh pancakes,” yells Bucky, “I do.” Rose’s tiny hands grab hold of Bucky’s hair, “Daddy, if you’re gonna have pancakes, then you don’t gotta eat my toes, right?” Both you and Bucky start laughing, his arms circling your waist as you work at the counter, Rose still dangling off his shoulder, “you’re right baby doll, I’ll have those instead.”

He places her down on the floor, ruffling her hair before grabbing plates and milk. “Ok, good, I think I need my toes. What would I put in my shoes if I don’t have ‘em?” Bucky looks down at her, her smile mirroring his own, “hmm, good question, baby.”

Once breakfast is made and the three of you are settled at the table, Bucky leans over to you, mouth full of pancake, “sweetheart, you think we could send Rose to your Ma’s for a little today, I uh, have some stuff to do.” You smile over at Rose, her small mouth stuffed full and whisper back, “yes, definitely, I have some party prep to do myself.”

Rose was more than happy to go to Grandma’s, leaving you and Bucky the afternoon to prepare for the big party tomorrow. You blow up balloons, make streamers, and a ‘happy birthday’ sign. Taking a break, you search for your husband, finding him once again crouched down on the floor, placing the last shingle on the roof.

“Bucky, it looks perfect!” you squeal, clapping your hands together and running over. You lean on his back, peering over his shoulder as you both admire his work. “Is the furniture next?” you ask, before peppering his jaw with kisses. “Yea look at this,” he says, holding up a tiny little bed and dresser. “And I have a table and chairs and a couch, some bathroom stuff, even a doghouse!”

“Aww it’s all so adorable baby, she is going to love it.” You continue kissing down his neck, gently massaging his shoulders. Grabbing you and dragging you into his lap he stares down at you, “if you want me to get this done before she gets home you better stop distracting me. You remember what happened last time we were in this position,” he purrs, his hand snaking up your skirt. “I’ll just go bake the cake then,” you breathe out, stopping his hand before it gets too high. He swats at your ass when you stand, sending you running into the kitchen with a shriek.

The sweet smell of baking drifts through the house, Bucky’s stomach grumbling as he sits and paints the small dresser for the bedroom. “I brought you a bite of cake to taste,” you hum, sitting down next to him. His tongue darts out to wet his lips as he concentrates on the finishing touches. “Bucky…,” you whisper, lost in the sight of him.

Turning his face to you he opens his mouth for a bite, his moan sending shivers down your spine. “Delicious, doll.” You stare at each other for a minute while he finishes the bite, chocolate frosting on your fingers and the side of his mouth. “You got a little something here, baby,” he says, taking your hand and pulling your fingers to his mouth. He licks the tips clean, eyes on yours the whole time.

You put down the rest of the cake, winding your arms around his neck and kissing the side of his mouth, licking off the frosting. “If watching me work with my hands gets you this turned on, I’m going to be building Rose every damn thing out there,” he says against your mouth. “Mmmhmmm, maybe you could just stop talking and put those hands to work again…”

Bucky’s hands card through your hair, his lips trailing down your neck and he dips your head back. “MOMMY! DADDY! I’m back, where are you?” Rose’s shrill voice surprises you both, Bucky’s wide eyes springing you into action. “Quick, Buck, clean this up, I’ll go head her off, so she doesn’t come in here.”

You fly out of his hold, rushing to the front door, arms wide open, “hi baby doll! Did you have fun at Grandma’s?” Thanking your mother, you listen to Rose chatter on and on about their fun afternoon, only placing her down once you see Bucky emerge from the other room.

She takes off running, throwing herself into his arms and burying her little face in his neck. “Hi daddy, I missed you.” He cradles her close, blowing raspberries on her cheek, “me too, doll, did you have fun?” Rose begins her story all over again, this time with some changes and you laugh as you start to prepare dinner.

Rose’s excitement for her party keeps her up later than usual, both you and Bucky exhausted but excited just the same. Once she’s finally asleep you and Bucky decorate the house together, placing the dollhouse front and center on the table. “I can’t wait to see her face, y/n. I hope she really does like it.”

Resting your head on Bucky’s chest you squeeze his waist, “she will, it’s a dream come true.” He kisses the top of your head, pulling you closer and wrapping you up in his arms, “come on to bed, baby, I want to finish what we started earlier.”

Once again, you sleep later than intended, the day, and night’s events catching up to you. “IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! EEEEEEEEE!” you hear from Rose’s room, causing you to bolt out of bed to stop her from seeing any of her surprises without you.

“Morning my birthday girl! Should we go get daddy so you can start your day?” Rose grabs her stuffed bear and jumps into your arms, “yes, yes, yesssssss, hurry, hurry mommy!” You take her into your bedroom just as Bucky sits up and rubs the sleep from his eyes, “there’s my beautiful birthday girl.” Holding his arms out for her to come, she hops over the bed and settles in his lap. “Ready daddy, can we get up now, pweeease, pweeease!!!” Bucky falls back on the bed, pretending to snore and trying to hide his smile. Rose’s scream most likely wakes the neighbors as she starts pulling on his arms, “NOOOOOOO DADDY, GET UP.”

Bucky lets out a loud groan, rolling over on top of her and squishing her into the bed, “ok, ok, I’m up! Let’s go.” He carries her into the kitchen, watching as her eyes go as wide as saucers and light up. “WOW,” she whispers, looking in every direction and trying to take it all in.

He places her down, her little feet moving before she hits the floor. Rose runs to every balloon and streamer, touching them all reverently as she talks a mile a minute, cooing over the colors. She finally gets to the table, her small body stopping short as she stands in front of the dollhouse.

“Daddy,” she breathes out, clasping her tiny hands together and jumping up and down while twirling in circles. “DADDY!!!!” she squeals out again, grabbing Bucky’s hand and pulling him down to sit with her. “Daddy, LOOK, it has a bed and chairs and windows and flower thingies and….” Her high-pitched happy voice rings out through your small apartment as she goes on and on about the dollhouse, taking each piece out and showing it to Bucky.

Bucky’s smile matches her own, your eyes watering at the sight of your little family, everything you’ve ever wanted right here in this moment. You sit down next to them and Bucky puts his arm around you, holding both you and Rose close. His eyes meet yours in understanding, no words necessary, the love you feel stronger than anything that can be said.

Day 1 (10th of February) - Secret admirer @buddietinesweek

Secrets, Lies, and What You Hide Inside.

Today was starting out good as Buck didn’t hit much traffic on his way to work. He managed to be in before pretty much everyone today. Confusion crossed his face as Buck looked at the card currently in his locker. He picked it up as if it was dangerous to touch. No one was around to see so he read it out loud.

“I can’t keep my eyes off of you.” Buck flipped it over and held it up to the light as if there was invisible ink. No one had signed it.

He stuffed it into his bag before going to start his shift with the card on his mind the rest of the day.

Who was it from and why didn’t they sign it?

Eddie came in a little late but not too badly as he saw the others upstairs with Cap already having breakfast. He waved before going to change. He had his shirt in his hand ready to trade it for the one in his locker when something fell out of it and onto his feet.

He bent down to grab the fuzzy thing. It was two teddy bear holding a shared heart between them.

Eddie huffed amused. The tag on one of the ears was left blank. He started at the different colored bears before stuffing them back in and tugging on his shirt with a smile.

He didn’t give it another thought until later when they were coming back. Was it a friendly gift or a joke? The only gay guy he knew at the station worked the other crew shifts and he barely knew him.

“Something on your mind Eddie?” Buck asked.

“Yeah. No. It’s nothing. Nice save on that debris.”

“Ha. Gotta keep you safe man. You’d do the same for me.” Buck bumped Eddie as he returned to looking out the window of the truck.

Could it be-? No.

Buck walked up to his door. He froze and pulled out his phone.

“Athena!”

“Buck, what’s wrong?!” He heard her shuffling around.

“Someone left a package at my front door! My mail goes to a P.O. box or our mail room drawers. I didn’t know what to do.” Buck’s voice was shaky.

Athena huffed. “You piss off anyone lately kid? No right?” She must have closed her car door because buck heard it.

“I don’t think so. But, I- what if it’s.”

“Buck it’s okay. He’s still in jail. Do you know what day it is?”

“Yeah. It’s the tenth, of, February.”

“Yeah Buck. You don’t think it’s a Valentine’s gift. It could still be something you don’t want just not as bad. I’m almost at your place.”

Buck stood still until he heard Athena coming.

“You good?” she asked.

“I’m sorry. I just- I don’t know why. I forgot what day it was.” Buck apologized.

“It’s fine Buck. We have every reason to be a little jumpy but I highly doubt it’s that bad.”

Athena pulled out a pocket knife and opened it with Buck beside her.

Balloons floated out as chocolates were inside a sealed package from a local gift shop.

“Oh thank God.” Buck breathed a sigh of relief.

“See. Nothing to worry about. You feel better?”

“Yeah. Thanks Athena. I’m sorry I wasted your time.”

“You’re never a waste of anything. Now go inside and get some sleep. If this secret admirer is any trouble you tell us alright?” Athena hugged Buck before going to leave.

Buck gathered the balloon strings and pulled it all inside.

They both had noticed there was no note or card on this one too. He sniffed the chocolate questionably before taking a bite, they had a crunchy inside to them.

Well at least it wasn’t that bad. Maybe he did jump to conclusions. But buck still had no idea of who it was. Whoever it was they had access to the firehouse and knew where he lived. He hoped they didn’t take rejection badly if he didn’t feel the same. If it wasn’t the person he wanted it too.

He thought about taking some to Eddie and Chris but how would he explain where he got it and why. Plus Eddie was just as tired after their late shift so he wasn’t going over just to wake him for the same reason he called Athena first.

Buck went up to bed and plopped down like a starfish.

“Who is it?” he wondered.

Eddie was checking his mailbox as he saw something on his windshield. He walked over to look at the paper..

“How the hell did I get a ticket? I didn’t-”

Eddie paused and looked around.

He grabbed the rose and opened the note tied to it.

“You’re always on my mind.”

No one was outside aside from Ms. Cooper and a jogger he barely waved to once in a while.

He took it inside with his mail.

“Aww Daddy, you got a rose for Valentine’s day?” Christopher looked up from his bowl.

“Umm. Yeah. I guess so. Let’s finish getting ready for school mijo.”

Eddie left it on the kitchen table along with the mail.

The last person to visit them was Buck. But he left before Eddie came inside and that wasn’t there. He wouldn’t turn around just for that, right?

Eddie was thinking. Whoever it was they knew his house and truck and snuck to deliver it. Then they got to his locker the other day too. It had to be someone he knew. Maybe it was-.

“Dad I’m ready!” Christopher said by the door.

Eddie walked into the firehouse with his secret weapon at the ready in his pocket.

He saw buck upstairs with the others. He got changed and headed up.

“Hey Buck. Can-”

“I need to talk to you.” Buck interrupted him.

“Yeah. Bunk room, now.” Eddie motioned over.

They didn’t see the others faces as they went to talk.

Buck closed the door to the empty room so they could have some privacy.

“I’ve been getting these gifts leading up to today. Did you-?” Eddie asked.

“Yeah. I did.” Buck said nodding. “And. I wanted to give you this.”

Buck pulled out a chocolate kiss and handed it over.

“I have something for you too.” Eddie smiled as he pulled out a conversation heart that read ‘I ♡ You’.

“Ha. We’re nerds.” Buck chuckled.

“Wrong candy Buck.” Eddie laughed with him at that.

“I can’t believe you feel the same way. I- I’m really glad you sent those too me even if it was scary that one time.” Buck said pulling Eddie into a hug.

“Wait. What? ” Eddie asked.

“The box. I thought it was a bomb but you sent me those chocolates and balloons. I was so dumb I called Athena because I was scared.” Buck said.

“You have every right to be scared Buck. I’m glad you’re ok but I didn’t send that.” Eddie tilted his head.

“What are you talking about. You just said you were getting me these things leading up to Valentine’s today Eddie.” Buck said.

“No. I was getting gifts sent to me and I thought it was you that sent them to me. I got bears and a rose.” Eddie said.

“But. I didn’t get you anything. I couldn’t risk doing that. So you really didn’t get me anything? But, you do like me too though right? As more than a friend?” Buck looked like he was gonna throw up.

“Yes. God buck. I think I love you. I just couldn’t risk, us, this.” Eddie said.

“But if you didn’t give me gifts and I didn’t give you gifts then who did?” Buck asked as they heard movement outside.

“Ah ha. Caught you red handed!” Athena said.

“What?” “I’m innocent” “Thena?”

Buck and Eddie moved to open the door.

“Aww man they were finally talking.” “The waiting for them to realize it's over we're free.” “I didn’t do anything” Hen, Chimney, and Bobby said as Athena looked at them.

“What’s going on?” Buck asked with Eddie in the doorway.

“Just these three meddlin’ is all. I bet Maddie was in on this too.” Athena said as Buck asked her to explain.

“The chocolates are from Maddie’s favorite place which I was reminded of this morning when I saw her. Chimney got her strawberries there. The bears Harry thought Bobby got me were in your locker weren’t they Eddie?” Athena asked.

“She’s really good.” Eddie said.

“You can say that again.” Buck nodded.

“I’m glad you’re not cheating but pretending to be Buck for Eddie. Bobby really? What’s all this matchmaker fever about? They’re grown men. They can talk and so can y'all,“ Athena said.

“You don’t have to work with them though.” “We can see it, they’re just blind.” Chimney and Hen said waving their hands up in exasperation.

“Wait. You two tried setting them up too?” Bobby said taking in what Athena said.

“Thank you.” Buck said silencing everyone. “If you’ll excuse me and my boyfriend to be we’ll be laughing at this actually working for us. Bye. Thanks for explaining things Athena.” Buck grabbed Eddie’s hand and and pulled him over to the couch.

“You’re lucky they didn’t get angry at you or this didn’t ruin their friendship. And you mister owe me a bear and dinner tonight. Happy Valentine’s.” Athena said pointedly before heading out.

“So, umm. Who wins that bet if all of us are disqualified for interfering now?” Chimney asked.

“Wouldn’t it be Thena?” Hen said as they saw her smirking as she turned to say good bye.

She totally knew it. And she was getting dinner to top off her winnings tonight.

“So Chimney and Hen got me stuff to make me think it was you. I can share the chocolate with you and Christopher now.” Buck said as they sat together.

“And i guess Bobby and maybe Maddie left me the bears and rose to think it was from you. I’m just glad you didn’t turn me down.” Eddie said smiling at buck.

“Pft. Like anyone would wanna turn you down. I had my own doubts to worry about.” Buck said.

“I’ll be happy to get rid of those if you’ll let me.” Eddie said grabbing Bucks hand.

“Yeah? I- think I’d like that.” Buck laughed.

Maybe they did owe the others for helping them in their round about odd ways.

More than the Roses

A Kuroko no Basuke fanfiction

Summary: Aomine is not into romantic words and gifts. Kise tells himself that it’s okay.

I’m not one for surprises…

Because Valentine’s Day isn’t really our thing.

...

All I need is him.

Kise knows there aren’t any surprises waiting for him today.

No flowers.

No chocolates.

No cheesy love notes tucked on gifts carefully wrapped in fancy paper.

It just wasn’t their sort of thing, making a big fuss over the so-called day of hearts.

Daiki thinks it’s only a huge-ass gimmickry, the perfect ploy of flower shops and bakeries to wring out bucks from people’s pockets, as if love can be stowed into something too ordinary and tangible, not to mention, something that’s store-bought.

“Besides,” Daiki tells him, midnight-blue eyes serious, unwavering, “...you always knew how I felt for you, these gifts are too overrated, anyway.”

So Kise learns to dismiss all sorts of expectations, when a dash of crimson sneaks into his periphery, a delivery guy bearing a bouquet of roses approaches his desk (guy’s been the fifth one to do so today, because Kise’s desk is closest to the office entrance).

No, it doesn’t affect Kise at all, that the person the delivery guy had asked for is his co-worker, Takao Kazunari, whose head had immediately perked up at the sound of his name. Seated from the far end of the room, Takao is quick on his heels, bouncing beside Kise to meet the delivery guy and claim his gift.

And Kise ignores the slight twinge of jealousy ripping in his chest when Takao sniffs the roses, pulls the note card out from the tiny envelope and claps a hand over his mouth to suppress a laugh at what he just read.

“What did it say?” Kise dares to ask, he’s only curious, and that’s just about it.

Takao turns to him, cheeks aflame, slate-blue eyes practically sparkling. “Oh, it’s just my prudish Shin-chan! I just find it too funny when he’s being sweet like this.”

With lifted chin, Takao shows Kise the message.

Happy Valentine’s Day, gorgeous. Tonight is all ours.

Kise lets out a chuckle, it doesn’t sound like Midorima at all, he probably chose from the message templates that the flower shop had offered, but still, Kise would give him props for being the thoughtful and sweet boyfriend for this occasion.

“Tee-hee, that’s the love of my life! Gotta thank St. Valentine, we get to experience the cheesy side of our emotionally-challenged boyfriends even for once,” Takao remarks.

Kise chews on the corner of his bottom lip and goes quiet with a nod. For years, Daiki and himself hardly do anything special during Valentine’s Day, it just kind of... got obscured by their daily routines and busy schedule, more so because Daiki has been duty-bound and is always on-call as a police officer. It gets to a point where Kise no longer cares about Valentine’s Day too, doesn’t give much thought to it, that it completely slips out of his mind, until he walks to his office today and notice the considerable number of flowers, balloons and other gifts adorning his co-worker’s tables.

It’s even worse when Valentine’s Day falls on his and Daiki’s workday, like today, for instance. It gets ditched from their schedule altogether, in favor of other ludicrous activities such as getting groceries and stuff. Kise recalls not having to greet Daiki Happy Valentine’s earlier this morning before each of them left for work, he recalls that today will be spent just as ordinarily as the day before, there is nothing special, it’s just their laundry day.

So while other couples will be holding each other’s hands inside movie theaters later or having dinner at high-end restaurants or both, Kise can just look forward to... doing chores with Daiki.

How stupidly romantic and domesticated is that, Kise reflects.

Not wanting to be weighed down by such miserable thoughts, Kise schools his emotions just enough, lets up a forced smile to his lips as he turns his attention back to his friend.

“You know us, we just low-key celebrate because we’re both busy,” Kise tells Takao as he leans back against his chair, not quite sure if he just imagined the bitter aftertaste of the words in his mouth. “Just dinner at home and that’s it.”

“And wild sex,” Takao adds, casual and unabashedly audible, like they’re not anywhere near their other co-workers.

“Right, the sex,” Kise agrees, realizing that no one is paying attention to them. His friend is right, sex is his saving grace. That, at least, is something he can work on, bring Daiki into the mood and make him fuck Kise senseless tonight. With Daiki being a total beast in the sheets, maybe he’ll insist on using the handcuffs again…

“Now, now… I see your thoughts are seriously going astray!” Takao laughs, shoulders bobbing up and down.

Kise’s face grows warmer. “No, I was just thinking about what I’m supposed to cook for dinner.”

“You are the lousiest liar!”

“Am not!”

“Ahem!”

Kise and Takao both turn their heads towards their brunet co-worker, Oikawa Tooru. If looks could gut, both he and Takao will be bleeding immensely on the floor by now, Kise thinks.

“In case you two haven’t noticed, people are working here and we’re not interested in your sexcapades!” Oikawa hisses, a dour expression on his face.

“Talk to you later, Single’s Awareness Day hits some of us hard,” Takao whispers with a wink.

Kise watches as Takao sashays back to his desk grinning from ear to ear, admiring the rose bouquet he got. From the corner of his eye, Kise steals a glance at Oikawa, the Salt of Valentine’s Day, already typing furiously on his computer. Smiling to himself, Kise thanks his lucky stars, he might have no gifts waiting for him today but at least, he’s got a boyfriend who can keep him warm tonight, unlike Oikawa who’s been on a prolonged sullen mood, having been single for almost half a year, all alone on the day of hearts.

Kise reverts his attention to his PC screen and gets himself to work. He skims through thick pages of printed documents, sends emails and makes several long phone calls to clients and other associates to distract himself.

However, time trickles away, unbelievably slow and harrowing, and the pensive mood grows, sinking deeper and deeper within him, it’s almost impossible to overlook.

Kise tries not to overthink these matters even as several more delivery guys came in with flowers or cakes for his other colleagues.

He tunes out the hushed words of affection from his co-workers, sweet nothings whispered over the phone to their significant others. Grabbing his own phone, Kise takes a selfie with the brightest smile he can possibly muster at the moment, sends it with a quick text to Daiki, I miss you so much.

Hours went by. Daiki doesn’t reply.

Then comes the biggest discovery of Kise’s day.

Intending to replenish his stock of paper clips, Kise walks into the supplies room and hears suspicious noises, rattling the shelves somewhere. And he knows he can’t be wrong, because right there behind one of the steel cabinets, there’s Oikawa, oblivious to the world around him, too busy making out with the tall, broad-shouldered guy from the IT department, Ushijima-san. If Kise’s memory serves him right, Oikawa has been bad mouthing the poor guy non-stop since time immemorial, and now this.

Careful as not to burst Oikawa’s little bubble of fun, Kise retreats quietly from the supplies room, biting his lips to keep himself from laughing out loud at the irony of it all. He can’t wait to share the juicy news with Takao.

And when Oikawa bounces back to his office chair a few minutes later, he’s humming a soft tune under his breath and he’s noticeably less catty--the sly little bitch is flushed pink, the glow in his hazel eyes unmistakable. Further observing the brunet, Kise feels genuinely happy for Oikawa and then somehow, feels himself missing Daiki even more. For the gazillionth time, he checks his phone for any message though he knows, he knows…

...Daiki is just not that kind of guy.

And for all of Daiki’s shortcomings, Kise still loves him, all of him.

To cheer himself a little, he pulls up the gallery app from his phone, browsing and swiping through the countless saved pictures of Daiki. Shortly after, Kise finds himself smiling, and he tells himself not to sweat over the trivial stuff.

When Kise’s shift ends, he’s surprised to see Daiki already waiting for him outside the office. Kise finds him leaning casually against his black vintage Mazda, arms crossed over his chest, the first three buttons of his police uniform undone, his sexy smirk well in place and it makes Kise swoon, heartbeat accelerating.

“Hey,” Daiki says, hooking an arm around Kise’s waist. His other hand climbs up and trails the side of Kise’s face, a thumb softly grazing Kise’s cheek and for a moment, Daiki pauses, an affectionate gaze pulling Kise into the depths of his midnight-blue eyes, before leaning down to catch Kise’s lips on his.

Daiki doesn’t bring him flowers but then, Daiki doesn't really need to...

Closing his eyes, Kise lets himself melt into Daiki, everything becoming clear as crystal as he savors Daiki's presence. In that moment, Kise feels thoroughly ashamed for dwelling over thoughts of self-pity, yearning for words, for gifts that mean so little compared to all the years they spent growing together, the moments in between their shared lives, Daiki always rooting for him, challenging him, seeing the best in him, always fanning the flames of passion in his heart.

All Kise has ever needed is right there in front of him.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day isn’t really their thing. They have their own version of romantic, only it’s not anywhere under the spotlight of typical couple venues, of fine-dine restaurants, movie houses or concert halls.

And Kise concludes, they’re never the typical couple, anyway.

Today is laundry day, he and Daiki are doing it together just as they did on the weeks before, on all the years since the two of them decided to move in under one roof.

At the laundromat just a short walk from their apartment, Kise slips a few coins into the money slot of one of the washing machines before pouring detergent and fabric conditioner into the drawer while Daiki sorts the soiled clothes on a nearby table.

“Whites first,” Kise says. Obediently, Daiki hands him socks and shirts, few pieces at a time, while Kise tosses them inside the washing machine. Kise bends his knees a bit, peering into the opening, one of his hands pushing several pieces of clothing further inside the machine. He gestures for Daiki to hand him more clothing, his free arm stretched out towards Daiki behind him.

“Towels now...”

And instead of soft fabric, Daiki has put something else on the palm of Kise’s hand. Turning his head, he sees that Daiki has given him—

A small white box.

Next, Kise’s eyes are blown wide.

A glimmer of something small and precious, a golden ring inside.

“What—” Kise’s heart stutters, as also his tongue; all the words, the question, the awe remains trapped behind his throat.

“Roses are expensive, so I got you this instead.”

Taking one of Kise’s hands, Daiki gets down on one knee. Then Kise hears the words, the only words he never thought he’s been longing to hear all his life until now.

“I want to spend every Valentine’s Day with you, the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me, Kise Ryouta?”

Kise revels at the rich, honeyed baritone of Daiki’s voice, and for the briefest of moments, a flood of emotions well up in his heart, bringing with it fond memories that he and Daiki had weaved together over the years, starting from the instant that the ball had hit the back of Kise's head during middle school. They sweep across Kise’s mind, and he lets himself be buoyed through the bliss, through the turbulence of being endlessly in love with Daiki.

“Aho. You could’ve picked out a finer place to propose to me instead of here,” Kise whines. Not that he's complaining, he just can't believe this is all happening right now. With his heart drumming so hard in his chest, he worries that he’s gonna fall, he's so sure his knees have already turned into jelly.

“I want to surprise you,” Daiki says, gently squeezing Kise's hand. There's a very visible shade of red on Daiki's cheeks which Kise finds too adorable, and Kise feels proud he's the reason Daiki is blushing like that.

“You did a great job.”

“So it’s a yes?”

Kise grips Daiki’s hand and pulls him up from the floor. “Yes, of course, I’ll marry you, aho! In this life and in the next and the next!”

“You’re a cheesy shit.”

“And you want to marry this cheesy shit!”

As soon as Daiki slips the ring around his finger, Kise wraps his arms around Daiki’s neck, pulling his soon-to-be-husband by the nape, colliding their lips together in a kiss.

The ring grows infinitely warmer against Kise’s skin as he feels Daiki smiling in his mouth.

Giveusakiss413: Bucky has spring break coming up. Hawaii is so nice during spring break. Or cabo. Omg Bucky would probably go missing in cabo tbh.

Steve would find him two weeks later on a Mexican reality show. "Stevie! Stevie look I got a rose and I went on a hot air balloon ride! Guys, this is Stevie!"

ColorCoated: "They had Churros, Stevie! CHURROS!"

Giveusakiss413: "And free booze! You can drink as much as you want, they're super cool with it! Hold on I gotta stand in front of this wind machine for pictures. Two seconds! Go get some churros and meet me at the fake lake"

ColorCoated: "Yes, it's a flower crown. DUH. It makes my hair look pretty! You want a drink?They like me when I get drunk, Stevie. They think my antics are adorable! Adorable! Wanna watch me do shots?!"

Giveusakiss413: Oh god he makes the flower crown out of the roses. And he and the bachelorette chick meet up at night and discuss the hottest contestants and the guys are all convinced they're sleeping together and when they confront Bucky he's like "I've never touched a woman in my LIFE" and throws drinks. He's thrown like four drinks. The producers don't even care that he can't speak Spanish. They love him.

ColorCoated: He throw the drinks off the table, and then he flips the table! The only Spanish word he knows is "zapatos" and because of it, sponsors keep sending him new shoes and he loves it! He and the bachelorette take turns doing each others hair and sharing crop tops. His tan is on point.

Giveusakiss413: His tan is perfection. His beach wave flower crown has started a new trend. His biceps are getting really defined from all the table flipping. I'm dying from the shoe comment. Dying.

ColorCoated: Steve shows up and Bucky is spread out on a lounge chair in the tiniest, tightest briefs he's ever seen. His hair is tied up, but he's still got his flower crown on. He's got a giant boozey slushy with 5 tiny umbrellas in it, and he's wearing sunglasses shaped like palm trees. "I'm in the finally four, Stevie! And my competition is almost as hot as I am! I have a chance at winning the whole thing!"

Giveusakiss413: Oh god. The production promised him a boat if he stayed. He's ratings gold. Steve is so confused by everyone and everything and Pete and Clint had to get dvr to record it because telemundo has it on at the weirdest times. Bucky is in every promotional still. ColorCoated: Steve's sees a charge for a new DVR a monthly comcast bill, and he wonders how the heck Pete and Clint got a hold of his credit card! And Bucky wants a boat so bad! He's already ordered himself a hat that says 'captain'. He's starting to bat his eyelashes at Steve and call him 'sailor'. The promo stills are Bucky's favorite thing ever and he makes the sexiest faces as possible Giveusakiss413: Oh god we finally get cap!bucky lmao. Pfft, Bucky will always take care of his boys. He memorized Steve's cc number by month three. The photographer doesn't even have to give Bucky instructions he's just like "and go!" And Bucky is pouting and smirking and glancing over his shoulders. Steve only found him because he passed by a billboard with Bucky shirtless with a rose between his teeth. ColorCoated: Shirtless, a rose between his teeth, laying on his back in a bed of rose petals with jeans low on his hips with the button undone" “They tell me I'm pretty, Stevie!" Bucky takes additional photos with his selfie stick so that he can send them to his Boys and Sam Wilson Giveusakiss413: Oh my god that's perfect. Just a tiny hint of a happy trail and bedroom eyes. Steve's gone all over searching for him and then he's like "buck? Wtf?!" And buckys so casual about it. Like "I had to live my dream Stevie! I was gonna text you but they won't let us have our phones more than an hour a day". Cause all Steve's been getting are proof of life dick pics and random artsy photos of shots of tequila surrounded by rose petals. He's been worried. Oh god and Sam watches. Meets up with the boys and they've bonded over it so hard. Sam pays for pizza and the boys have adopted him as one of their own. He contributes to the third base jar now. ColorCoated: "Bucky, I've been so worried!" "I was sending you photos!" "Yeah, of your dick and nothing else!" "Don't act like you didn't enjoy it." "Not the point!" "Daddy, did you miss the part where I'm going to get us a boat??!" "Bucky, you don't even speak the language, how are you going to win?" "Zapatos!" (The guy holding the boom mic sets it down and hands Bucky another new pair of shoes.) Sam loves the boys and they love him, but he's a little concerned that Pete hasn't left Sam's house in four days. All of the framed photos of his friends and family all around his house have been suspiciously replaced with photos of Clint as a baby. And Sam doesn't understand why there are bags of marshmallows stuffed in his medicine cabinet. giveusakiss413: Oh god I just pictured Pete and Clint hovering over SAMs bed in the middle of the night chanting "one of us, one of us" Hahahahaha Bucky has so many shoes now. He doesn't win and he throws the most epic freak outs in front of the camera. Just flipping tables, aggressive pointing, very gentle hair tugging, lots of tears once he's established that his mascara is waterproof. He's all "Juan?! I've seen his dick, and let me tell you sister, you've made a mistake" and then as soon and they say cut he hugs the bachelorette and the production crew uses that to fuel rumors for season 2. A few months later people still stop him on the street with "hey!! Zapatos!"

Blockchains - decentralized digital ledgers on which information is saved publicly - and their most popular application, cryptocurrencies, have moved from a seeming fad to a potentially disruptive alternative form of storing and transferring funds or information.

However, other than the launch of a few esports betting token ICOs, and LoL player Jeon -ikssu" Ik-soo's quitting Jin Air Green Wings to become a full-time bitcoin trader in December, blockchain has made little impact in the esports industry. This may about to change.

As esports leagues have become franchised and more professional, there have been calls for more legislation, rights for players, fairer pay and contracts: in short, fewer gray zones and more transparency. Luckily, one of the main attractions of blockchain technology is that it is decentralized, secure, and wait for it... 100 percent transparent. That is, since each block is a permanent transaction record which can be added to a public chain, it's impossible to falsify or eradicate - making it a perpetual source of information for parties to confirm and complete the transaction. In short: anyone can see when someone has - or hasn't - held up their end of the bargain.

As such, here are three ways that we think blockchain technologies will push change in esports:

1. Tipping with crypto currencies

If instead of using PayPal, gamers were to receive donations via cryptocurrencies over blockchains, this problem would be eradicated. One, you cannot ask for a chargeback via cryptocurrencies; and two, every transaction would be logged on blockchains, so it would be impossible to claim that someone else had made a payment other than yourself - the most common excuse for chargebacks. But keep in mind: while this is a huge plus for gamers, it could cause headaches for consumers who had their accounts hacked - blockchain users know if their money has been taken out of their e-wallet unwillingly, it's almost impossible to get it back.

The concept of tipping with cryptocurrencies is not new. Dogecoin, a cybercurrency which just broke $1 billion in value, was originally used to 'tip' people for creating or sharing great content. The founder stated, -Think of it as a more meaningful 'like' or upvote, with real value that can be used all across the internet."

Considering esports careers are notoriously short compared to other sports, a movement has emerged in the last few years to protect players' rights. League of Legends producer Riot Games recently announced plans to launch an official players' association, similar to a traditional workers' union, which would defend players' rights, and defend them in any conflicts arising around contracts or sponsorship deals.

Another option, would be for esports players to start requesting -smart contracts" which are saved on blockchains. Due to the decentralized nature of blockchains, all parties - teams, players and sponsors - would be able to set their terms, obligations and requirements in data on blockchains. This resource would then be saved infinitely, and cannot be adjusted or deleted by either party.

This would mean that players could set a certain percentage that they would be paid for each tournament win, or a monthly salary, which could then be actioned directly by information within the blockchain itself, meaning that teams and agents would have no choice in paying what was due. However while smart contract might offer more security for less experienced players, there is a potential they could put teams on the back foot, too. Victorious players might see tournament winnings go directly into their cryptocurrency accounts, however money being automatically deducted from accounts could have a negative effect on smaller teams with fewer resources - especially if these teams were hoping to make the money up, before paying out their losses.

But keep in mind: This is still a bit far off. For this to work, someone would first need to make a platform that checks if the clauses of the contract were executed, and then send the request to the smart contract for payment.

That said, having incorruptible blockchain agreements would give players a much better chance of success if they decided to take legal action for breach of contract. To keep things fair, teams could also embed certain performance statistics, and clauses onto the smart contracts, which would give them the right to terminate contracts, should players consistently drop the ball.

3. Getting rid of the middlemen to compensate players

As esports events grow in popularity, they are catching the eye of mainstream media channels, and in turn advertisers too, which is pumping funds into prizes. Last year's Dota 2 competition, the International 7, ended up reaching almost $25 million in total.

While the majority of popular esports are team-based competitions organized in leagues or tournaments throughout the year, finishing with final events for the best teams, there are events like Hearthstone and Starcraft II, which individual players can compete in too. When representing themselves, rather than a team, players are at risk of being treated unfairly. However, to represent the unrepresented, a number of blockchain startups have emerged which aim to democratize access to tournaments and also make sure that players get their fair share of the prize money when the final whistle blows.

FirstBlood, which harnesses the Ethereum blockchain, decentralizes tournament setup and winnings distribution, meaning that players are guaranteed their winnings will be delivered straight into an e-wallet, rather than having to lose money through expensive money transfers or middleman payment processors taking their cut. Eloplay has a platform which detects cheating and foul play, and players get the company's own currency, Elo-coins for every win.

So while most of the buzz around blockchains and gaming to date has been centered around cryptocurrencies designed for esports gambling, there are many ways which blockchains can make positive changes to the industry as a whole. In the same way as traditional sports have become highly legislated over the years to protect the interests of players and teams, emerging technologies will help esports get up to speed, quicker.

You can get more then 100, 000 bucks on bugs that are on the coconut tree these bugs are Cyclommatus 8, 000 bills, Golden stag 12, 000 bills, Alas beetle 8, 000 bills, Elephant beetle 8,000 bills, Hercules beetle 12,000 bills, Goliath beetle 6, 000 bills. These are very rare though and you have to make a row of coconut trees (by the ocean) and go down the row for some time then you can fill your pockets with bugs and go home and put them down and go back. Go around your town and shake all of your non-fruit bearing trees. One of four things will happen: 1)a coin (100 bells) will pop out 2) a spider will come down 3)a beehive with bees will fall down or 4)Nothing will happen. If you get the coin- pick it up, go into your pocket and put it in your wallet. If you get the spider- catch it with your net and sell it to Nook for 300 bells. If you miss the spider the first time, re-shake the tree. The spider will come down on the opposite side. If you get the beehive- you will get stung unless you run into the nearest house/building (the owner has to be in the house) before the bees catch you.

Silver Can

To get the Silver Can, go to Nook’s shop and buy all the flower seeds. Do this again for several days. Eventually, Nook will give you the Silver Can, which can heal wilted red turnips back to health!

Be sure to take care of the sapling, watering it and placing it away from other objects. In four days or so, it will become a full tree.

Golden Slingshot Tips

If you auction off an item such as a robo-tv the prices will vary.If you auction off a Gyroid you will get somewhere around 3,000 bells a piece.If you auction off a fossil like a T-rex head you will get 4 times as more bells than what Tom Nook will give you. So if it is 5,000 bells you will get a whopping 20,000 bells! That is if it sells.

Pitfall Your Neighbors!

If you plant a pitfall seed and push your neighbors into it they will be stuck. The only way they can get out is by talking to them. Afterward, they will be sad for a short period but it’s just fun to see your neighbors panic!

When you find the money rock and you hit it a couple of times,when bell bags come out it will play a sound affect like when Mario gets a 1UP mushroom. 3.When you get 10,000 points at Nooks Shop you will be able to buy Mario's standard Kart From Mario Kart Wii.4.When you get 500 points at Nooks Shop you will be able to purchase the banana from the Mario Kart series.5.When you get 800 points at Nooks Shop you will be able to purchase the triple red shells from the Mario Kart series and they actually rotate!

Easy House Things

First just go and buy paper. Then all you have to do is go and get a whole bunch of fruits. Write a quick letter to someone and put the fruit as a gift. Keep doing that till you write using all of you paper. Send to the post office. Wait a day or two and then all of the people you sent letters to will have sent you something back like furniture, walls, or flooring.

Transfer your saved game files from Animal Crossing: Wild World, and all of yourunlocked items will be available in Nook’s store.

Snowman Items

During the winter, there will be two snowballs somewhere in your town. All you have to do is roll them around and they will grow bigger. Make sure the head of your snowman is slightly smaller than the body of your snowman. If you roll a snowball into another one, the snowball you were rolling will end up on top and that will be your snowman. If you get it right( and it will take some time to make your snowman happy) then he will say something positive about the way he is built and you will get something in the mail from him. If you didn’t get it right them he will say something negative. There will be two new snowballs everyday during the winter.

Gracie Furniture

If you see Gracie the Giraffe walking around your town you might receive furniture from her. Talk to her during each season to receive cool furniture sets.

The Salon

For first timers at the salon in the city, you can go in and ask Harriet the salon owner,and she will ask if you want a makeover or a new hairstyle. If you choose hairstyle you will have to pay 3,000 bells to get your hair done. If you choose makeover and it is your first time there you can do it for free (The makeover is when you get to look like a Mii. You choose the Mii and Harriet makes you look like that me!

Messenger Bird

When you go to a message board, sometimes there will be a yellow bird. When you approach it, it flies area. Once you see the message’s one is new.

Silver Shovel

On some random night’s in the city, go all the way to the right after 8:00 pm. You will reach a place if the cones are pushed aside. Talk to Mr. Restti. He tells you to get out and take the Silver Shovel with you!

Money Fish

In Winter, there are a lot of MONEY FISH! One is called the Football fish which sells for 2,500 bells. The others are Red Snapper, lobsters and that’s it.

Lots O Bells

First you must finish Tom Nook’s part-time job. Then get the fishing rod. Go to the ocean and fish! You might catch Sea Bass, Red Snappers, Barred Knifejaw’s, Sea Horse, and more. Sell them for a lot of bells. You will be rich in no time!

Harvest Set Unlockables

To get a furniture item from the Harvest Set, You must talk to Tortimer after 3pm on Harvest Day, (which this year was Nov. 27). He will give you a Fork and Knife pair, telling you that the ‘Special Guest’ hasn’t shown up yet. There will be a Turkey character, Franklin, hiding somewhere in your town. You will be asked to trade himm the Fork & Knife. If you do, he’ll give you an item from the Harvest Set. The set includes: Fork and knife, wall, rug, bed, dresser, bureau, sofa, char, table, mirror, TV, clock and lamp.

Spooky Items On Halloween

You can unlock the following Spooky items on Halloween starting at 6pm. You have to find Jack and give him a piece of candy. If you give him candy, he gives you one of the following from the “Spooky” series:Bed, dresser, wardrobe, sofa, chair, table, vanity, bookcase, clock, lamp, wall, carpet.

Jingle Series Furniture

To unlock the jingle series of furniture, talk to Jingle on Christmast Eve (at 8pm). You can get:wall, carpet, bed, dresser, wardrobe, sofa, chair, table, lamp, clock, piano, and shelves.

Mario Items

Shoot down the ballons with the sling-shot from Nooks store to get one of the following:”?” block, 1-up mushroom, brick block, cannon, fire bar, fire flower, green Koopa shell, starman, green pipe, flagpole, super mushroom, coin, brick flooring, and mushroom mural.

New Years Shirt

Talk to Tortimer at town hall on January 1st to get the New Year’s Shirt for each year.

First you have to donate 500, 000 bells till you get a fountain once you have a fountain, buy an axe, and walk up to the fountain and press A with the axe in your hand, then you’ll throw your axe in the fountain then Serena will show up, answer questions for her and she MIGHT give you a silver axe or a gold axe. WARNING: she will make VERY mad, just answer the questions to try and be polite.

After you’ve bought every hair style at least once Harriet will offer you hair cuts for the opposite gender!

To get this item, keep your town perfect for 15 days straight!

To get this item, buy 50 bags of seeds from Tom Nook.

Fountain

To get a fountain in your town, you have to donate 500,000 bells to your town fund. Once you do get it, go get a ax and throw it in the fountain. Then a goddess will appear. You will either get a golden ax, silver ax, get your ax back, or not get it back at all.

First, switch the date on the Wii to April 12, 2009. Then, when on Animal Crossing City Folk, go infront of the town hall and meet Zipper T. Bunny. He will tell you about bunny day and tell you to go dig up Easter Eggs. He will also tell you about the special prizes in the eggs (Bunny Foil) and if you find some he will give you a special treat (Bunny Day Furniture). On bunny day you will get bunny furniture. Sell all the bunny furniture to nook and soon you will have 100 bells. Skip to the next sway and go back to bunny day and collect Easter eggs and sell the bunny furniture to nook again and if you keep doing this you will soon be rich like me!
