Oc has been created! (Still a work in progress, with the lore and coloring and such, but these are all the doodles I have—I’m just like way too excited to wait to post them💔)

This is Ellys (El-iss) Belmont! Most of their info I have to share is in the drawing…so here’s some details!

• Ellys is a newcomer, and goes by the stage name “Blue Lightning”

• You can’t tell because there’s no color, but they’re supposed to have a blue streak in the middle of their bangs that goes all the way down their hair

• Their attire is all blue (guess what their favorite color is), and there are lines on the sides of their tank top that connect to lines on the sides of their shorts…it makes a lightning bolt (you understand where the name came from now?)

• Ellys trains with their twin brother, who is the reason they box…

BOOM HE’S HERE TOO!!

Introducing Myles Belmont, Ellys’ twin brother! (“hey…twins in boxing..?” I know…so unoriginal…but there’s a twist!)

• Myles was originally supposed to be a boxer, but before his first match, he got performance anxiety and got sick, desperately begging Ellys to take his place

• Myles is the confident and extroverted twin (which made it surprising to Ellys that he chickened out before his fight), contrasting with Ellys’ naturally calm, self-reserved, and introverted twin

• Myles and Ellys get along really well! When they changed their names during their transitions, they wanted to match in a way (both names replace i’s with y’s)

• After Ellys won the fight as Myles’ sub, Myles was blown away with their skill. He tried to convince Ellys to keep boxing in his place. Ellys worried about revealing they weren’t actually Myles—because they were afraid that the WVBA wouldn’t allow a nonbinary boxer to fight the male boxers (turns out the rules are pretty loose, though…)—so they continued to fight under this “alter ego”

• Another one of their worries was that the audience wouldn’t like Ellys over Myles. Ellys had to put on a show to be their loud and outgoing brother, which was…kind of freeing. Ellys feared that if they went out there as themself, the fans would think they were weird. And strange. And awkward. And—

• While this charade was going on, the twins concocted a plan! Ellys would cut their hair shorter to look like Myles, and Myles would add a blue streak in his hair to look like Ellys (a fair trade, since they both loved their own hairstyles).

• Ellys would fight in the ring as Myles, while during interviews, Myles would just be himself! Ellys was too afraid to be on camera and mess up…but apparently Myles was just fine (oh. he must ENJOY the attention…even though he got sick due to stagefright…<hey it’s different okay? you don’t have to fight the guy interviewing you.>)

• The plan works well, aside from one crucial detail that obsessed reporters point out. Blue Lightning in the ring has a tooth gap, but not during interviews…what can this mean?

At some point, Ellys is tired of pretending to be Myles because they don’t want to pretend to be someone they’re not, and they’re afraid of getting caught and getting in trouble.

And also because Myles takes credit for everything during the interviews. Sure, that shouldn’t be a problem seeing as they look to be the same person, but deep down, Ellys wishes that was them in his place. They get into arguments over this, until finally one day Ellys impulsively reveals their identity. (Today is NOT that day, though!)

I stayed up until 2am drawing all of these. I had SO many ideas welling up inside of me…I’m glad I’m spilling them all finally😭

IVE BEEN WAITING TO POST THIS FOR SO LONG!!!!

Rin had a story idea about this from a long while ago tbh it was very heart wrenching and Im not spoiling what the premise is in case she goes back to writing it again which had Smol Oppy and so I was inspired to doodle this and I promised that I wouldn't share this online until she's posted about it 😂😂😂

So I had a dream last night about Armada MegOp:

The war is over and Op decides to step down as Prime. Only problem is, he forgot how incredibly short his Orion/Optronix frame was, like he’s a two heads shorter than Megs. So Megs has to carry him from time to time in crowded areas. Also I keep picturing Op being Megs’ unofficial secretary since he’s so good with the archives. So he’s basically doing paperwork (again) for Megs, and has a hard time keeping up cause of his tiny little legs.

Also I stand by the idea that without the Matrix, Op is more relaxed but he’s a total fucking gremlin to anyone that he deems fit as a proper target. Aka Megs most of the time.

Erik!! I keep seeing your adorable centaur OCs and I always wanted to ask what's the story behind them??

Plushi!! Sorry for the mega-late reply… 🥺I was so happy to get this ask but I didn't know how to explain my silly ocs…I will try now-more under the cut.

Dael Braam (dwarf) is a cooped up farmhand looking to see the world, but being immune-compromised from birth it took a lot of persuasion to convince her parents to let them go. They relent under the condition that she finds a capable and strong person to travel with to keep her safe… Just so happens that a strong and capable centaur knight is visiting in town…

Rembrandt (horsey) was created from a dark fusion spell by an amateur mage, who had intentions to construct a powerful warrior to do his bidding.

However, the spell cast did not result in a powerful and fully-armored warrior…. but instead a frail baby knight centaur, with only its top half made of living armor. The mage, not wanting to raise any kind of child, promptly abandons his creation. He can always try to make another one after all.

Into adulthood, Rembrandt still carries a lot of pent-up abandonment and self-esteem issues. You wouldn't know that from the proud facade he puts on though, lying about being a royal knight yet helping all those he comes across with a smile, but never staying long. When the opportunity of having a long-term travel companion (and perhaps a friend…?) arises from Dael requiring a bodyguard, his craving for companionship and affirmation outweighs his worries about her seeing eldritch elements of himself.

Dirk (beefy dragon thing) is the second (and more "successful") attempt from the same mage to create a powerful monster. Think Rembrandt's "big evil" brother. Except he's quite a bit younger. Dirk emerged fully-developed except for his wings-which remain as little nubs. Despite his brawn and warrior-appearance, Dirk was mostly a glorified errand boy, using his impressive strength to terrorize the nearby towns and their land-collecting resources for the mage.

Dael and Rembrandt meet Dirk after hearing word of a giant dragon-knight ravaging villages (and their livestock yum yum).

(I also like the idea of the mage sending Dirk to capture Rembrandt + Dael when he recognizes is his first attempt is not only alive and strong, but also quite proficient in battle.)

One way or another Dirk ends up roaming with the two. At first, Dirk is over-confident, rude, and stubborn... Overall a huge pain for them to travel with. After being shown kindness for the first time and being subject to more than a few humbling situations, Dirk allows a protective, loyal and softer side of him to emerge.

Lots of found family shenanigans and adventures occur-and yeah! This was rambly but thank you for reading about my guys! 💖

Ah fine I'll post somethin. Experimenting with designs and shit is all I'm doin. Nothin new.

The digital "version" of ^this^ is just some lazy color blocking I did. (Pay no mind to the weird light effects); But it does add a little clarity to the original sketch that might be helpful. Note: the values will change to some degree later.

Full body type idea ^here^. The tail is fan shaped from proper perspective.

The basic blocks of his design include an array of different animal features i.e. plucked feathers and skin, goat horns and eyes, coyote skull and body, and lizard scales. Idk if anyone was curious though;

if anyone asks for more detail in the design inspirations and lore I might share it. I just don't really feel the need to post every part of my process yk (especially if I'm not 100% happy with it)

YOOOOOOO! I didn't expect this!! Finally, a chance to talk about her! (Also, a small bit ahead - I tend to call her Julie instead (Czech variant of Julia), as it is a more proper translation of her name, and I use Yurie sometimes for ease of a communication. There used to be a post by Saintmic about names but TLDR; the エ (ye) in her name ユリエ (yu-ri-ye) is not silent, and it is a different name than the existing Japanese name Yuri (ユリ or sometimes ゆり).. Besides, Soulsborne games always have a character with a variant of this name (such as Zullie, Yulia or Yuria/Julia))

1) What would their social media page/activity be like

Hahaha... I imagine her as being someone whose page is mostly reblogs. 90% of them are from Willem x) But really, though. She would often not find what to say by herself, but would share some based takes - criticisms of modern culture, spreading awareness of some interesting statistics, journal articles that are based on cold and hard facts without any propaganda (good OR bad)... Her personal posts are rare and are either pictures + texts about something from her ordinary life, or vents. However, she'd constantly get the "DELETE THIS" DMs from Laurence (for reblogging some statistic about "effectiveness" of the Healing Church's procedures). Surprisingly, Willem himself never gets any flack despite being the OP of the posts she reblogs to begin with xD

4) Physical headcanons (sleeping habits, favourite food, all that)

Julie normally prepares her breakfast, lunch and dinner in advance, just so she would not have to get distracted from routine work (that tends to occupy her strongly). She cannot care less about her food being cold or even getting stale for that matter. But she behaves differently during her time of caring about Rom as a human; Rom tends to forget to eat as well, and for HER Julie is willing to make sure the food is fresh from the oven and is in its best quality.

She ends up chugging too much blue elixirs later in her story, exactly for the side-effect they are giving - to numb her brain. Julie never had a drinking problem prior - be it the holy blood, the sedatives, the blue elixirs or even actual alcohol, but she got a chance to drink with Fauxsefka a little too often and developed the habit very soon.

All her character sliders have the number at 0 except for arms that has 130 (middle), soooo. Her strongest part is her arms - not too muscular, but strong. If she ever must fight without weapon, she will exclusively fist-fight (or hit one's vulnerable spots, should they lack enough armour). Her punches are not strong (her STR is only 13), but she knows where and how to punch for maximally damaging effect (SKL is 33).

I used to think that she was bald for the same reason as Willem and Slime Scholars (so, Arcane?), but hair falling out from Arcane would not explain her notably bushy EYEBROWS, so I ended up deciding she does have hair tucked under that cap. I also decided to bridge the gap with learning about her NPC data colors too late by having her dye her hair brown or black-ish sometimes. Even prior that, I've had a running gag with drawing her with different hairstyle every single time, but by now she developed more tomboyish look in my interpretation!

She has an eagle sharp eyesight, is able to effortlessly read the tiniest letters without magnifying glass, or even looking in too close, for that matter. Others joke that she developed it by working with literal eyes too much; most of the jars with eyeballs were prepared and preserved by her!

8) Made-up connections with other characters that weren't in the canon (friends, enemies, whatever)

Damian: Fun fact, him and Julie were my next ship after Micorom (before I made Rom Mico's sister instead)! I've noticed that both her and Damian qualify as "failed" members of their respective factions and it snowballed... xD Since then a lot of headcanons were rearranged, but I still enjoy the idea of them as a ship! However, by now them just being close friends works better; Julie is Rom's caretaker, no dissimilar to how Damian basically became Micolash's "butler" before he noticed, so the two are a bit too attached to their (slightly crazy) blorbos to devote to significant romantic relationship otherwise. But, Damian and Julie always had a lot to talk about, and always were the most responsible people in Byrgenwerth (the type to always volunteer to clean the classroom after lessons, to decorate everything for the holidays, etc etc...).

Towards the game events they do become enemies though, as Damian has to face it that Rom has to die for at least a chance of stopping Mensis ritual, and Julie won't have that. It would further wreck him, of course, as he just keeps losing the scholars that were close to him.. but let's hope that the good ol' 'nobody REALLY can die in Bloodborne' works hahaha. ALSO! When I explored the idea of lucky charms to block out the 'evil' telepathy, I had Damian to wear a silver bell tied with Julie's trademark blue ribbon; she gifted it to him upon their parting!

Fauxsefka: They have had a lot of tension between each other ever since being Byrgenwerth scholars, and frequent disagreements. Not really enemies, but their personalities do not mesh well at all; Julie is level-headed despite her grumpiness and Fauxsefka is easily deluded although 'friendly', Julie is open-minded but Fauxsefka is prone to fanatism and black-white thinking, Julie often chooses passive ways (such as preferring to not touch Mensis ritual and slowly 'evolve' people) but Fausxefka will take active, decisive actions (such as running off and forcibly evolving people into Kin so they can't become beasts instead). They are opposites that not complete each other, but tend to argue. Fauxsefka called Julie callous and vile on multiple occasions, Julie called her crazy and deranged in return. Even the last time they've interacted, they were fighting exactly over Fauxsefka's idea to return to her experiments, and she told Julie that she should have known better than to believe she'd understand her. Granted, they were trying their best to get along for years, but some people are just not compatible.

Iosefka: She is Fauxsefka's twin. Despite sharing more in common with Julie, Iosefka is a more tender and malleable pushover than her, so she'd tend to go along with Fauxsefka most of the time rather than argueing.

However, that made Julie a little bit of a 'therapist' friend for Iosefka, and she knew more about her than even her sister. Iosefka entrusted Julie about supporting Micolash's ideas more (at the time), and Julie was the best to hear her out, as someone both critical but not controlling. (Besides, she already used to it, as Rom outright idealized Micolash...) Their friendship was a bit one-sided, but Julie appreciated the trust, and Iosefka appreciated being given space and perspective.

Edgar: Julie liked him more than she'd want to admit, it is as if the guy embodies exactly the kind of a person Julie wishes she was but simply can't be. Not because she is 'bad' but because she is Julie, not Edgar! xd In fact, she envied him, both in good and bad ways. She also had slight fear that he'd 'steal' Rom from her that she'd repress. Most of all traits, she appreciated his independent, non-conforming thinking! Although Julie, likewise, didn't fit into Choir, but her reason was to side with Willem's approach much more. Edgar though? That guy was an unhinged, unbreakable individualist, questioning anything (including even the most sacred and dogmatic things) and anyone (regardless of their age and experience). Yet, this also ended up the trait she resents him by now, since Edgar, sent to spy on Micolash, ended up "thinking that Micolash's ideas make more logical sense". Funny enough, fuming mad at Edgar for being a 'traitor' was the most sincere moment of bonding and agreement Julie ever had with Fauxsefka in her entire life.

White Church Hunter (yes, the one in Research Hall): Vasylissa was Willem's Julie before Julie was Willem's Julie x) Julie tends to develop bonds that are either tense or unequal, but these two had a rather warm bond. The only reason they didn't become girlfriends is because Julie already was too attached to Rom and Vasylissa was always busy with something. But as a very responsible scholar, Julie would get praise from Vasylissa often, down to receiving headpats (that made her blush). Vasylissa would also often find herself pleasantly surprised by Julie having already completed some tasks she thought she'd have to do! They repeated the dynamic in the Research Hall a lot, except now they'd occasionally have cup of tea to bitch about Laurence xd I think it could've been a cute ship in an AU though!

Micolash: Had it not been for LAWS OF THIS LAND- errr, Damian and Rom, Julie would have probably hated him! It doesn't change the fact that he is completely lost on her after going completely batshit (even on his own faction), but being close with two people that loved the guy for years made Julie well aware of his tragic past and sympathetic traits. She simply could not feel hostile towards him, he basically became a friend-in-law, but could very well see Micolash was a dangerous person. She'd attempt to sneak on him without Rom knowing to check whether he was up to something, but either Micolash would be aware and tangle his traces... or Damian would catch her and carry her away like a puppy sdhfgds Rom's love towards Micolash had rubbed onto Julie so much that even if the siblings were to fall apart or one hurt another, she'd try to reconcile them and be a mediator between the two.

Laurence: Unlike what was going on with Fauxsefka, her tension with Laurence was more similar to animosity. Less heated but more 'genuine' conflicts, that stemmed from clashing ideologies rather than clashing temperaments. None of them wanted to become an "enemy" to each other, but it just so happened that Julie OFTEN had something to say against him. She, like Willem and Vasylissa, resented him wasting himself to the ambitions and the plan that was not promising much success in the long run; Laurence pretentiously expressed sadness about her being a very responsible and hard-working asset yet 'having' to always go against him... all that. The difference is that when Laurence would cringe and fail, Julie would feel genuinely concerned about his future, but should Julie make a mistake, Laurence would be gleeful.

9) Headcanons about their past

My impression about her is that if she'd always been the goodie-two-shoes A+ responsible pupil, she'd likely burn out by the time she enrolls in Byrgenwerth! So I'd say she used to be more mediocre kind of kid and teen, only developing the hard-working and respectful attitude over age. You know, as if to compensate for "missed" opportunities in the past!

She'd had a bit of a hard character since childhood, and unfortunately no help or guidance for it. Grown-ups would either not give her much mind as the "no fun" kid or try to make her smile by giving her candy or small gifts. Julie ended up even more aloof and sulky child, feeling like nobody could like her the way she was. It did not help that when she DID try to connect with her peers, they'd make light-hearted jokes about her deigning them with presence at last.. that only made her feel MORE reclusive.

But she'd find a productive outlet for her pent-up aggression in defending the bullied kids with her fists and winning! Along with that, she'd often do boring voluntary job for school all alone, just as long as she could be busy with something. Over time, that formed a circle of thankful, well-meaning people around her that remembered her kindness and other good traits even into young adulthood. None were quite close friends, but under sense of having 'contributed' to the society despite a rocky start in life, Julie started to grow softer.

Julie was one of the people who joined Byrgenwerth only 'after it became cool' (ie not for archeology, but for weird ancient arcane secrets)! She got an impression that over there, people had finally re-discovered something humanity needed but had lost and forgotten. It was a struggle though, as her parents tried to argue that she was on her way to 'simply study something interesting', that did not seem to promise much career opportunities. She felt very guilt and uneasy about her decision, that only had faded when she met Rom and formed a bond with her.

Halloween AU!!!

hey so. i put SOOOOO much effort into this au and for what? at least it ended up looking cool? anyways Halloween is my favorite holiday and i just HAD to make something for them!

i had a LOT of ideas for what everyone would be, but i really wanted to stick to a certain theme cause it's based around Halloween. i knew i had to have a vampire, werewolf, and a witch. cause like... obviously. iconic Halloween stuff!! but i took some liberties with everyone else and i think they turned out pretty cool!!

Jason was originally a fox shifter (which i still love and might draw art for some day) but i went with a bear in the end. is that because i thought about tiny bear cub Jaybin and wanted to cry? yeah. yeah it is. i KNEW Steph was going to be my werewolf though i started doubting myself when i went to draw her. turned out to be my favorite drawing on here which makes sense cause she is my light my love my daughter my will to live and all that jazz

Tim was actually gonna be a harpy but thank god i didn't go for that in the end. Duke was the one that was a bitch and a half trying to figure out BUT!! comments on the post asking what y'all thought led me towards Psychic so THANK YOUUUU everybody that commented!! (specifically those who thought of ghost!! Duke and Tim ended up being a perfect duo in this au)

Babs was pretty easy to figure out what I wanted for her. I read somewhere that they are seen as protectors of forests/ are considered spiritual authority figures and also.... she looks cool as fuck. Did not expect how easy it was to find a ref for a deer in a wheelchair though? I can never find the right hand or face angle reference but that was super easy???

For Bruce there was literally no question he HAD to be human. it's literally so funny that everyone who knows Batman thinks he's a spooky vampire but he's human. his first son, however?????? THAT'S the vampire. I knew Dick had to be a vampire too. A little nod towards that one comic run but in my au nothing bad happens ever 🥰 Damian also being a bat shifter is very on purpose because how funny is it that he's a bat man. Literally not a single person in the League thinks that Bruce is telling the truth about being human. Bruce you are NOT beating the secretly a vampire allegations.

Alfred is actually a demon. I CAN NOT remember who made this post so if someone can help me find it, it would be appreciated!! because this was inspired by them!!! but somewhere i saw someone talk about Alfred being a demon that Thomas and Martha made a deal with (i think it was for an au idea?) and I just HAD to put it here. Alfred looks so human and everyone expects it, but he's definitely not. I put the ??? because it's so fucking funny. see if you can spot the 1 hint i put on his drawing that something is amiss!!

Peter is from an alternate dimension still, but it is not a world of creatures like him, it's just the same as LoF canon except Peter grew some extra limbs and eyes. He finds that it's actually pretty easy to fit in with the Waynes. Hard to feel like a freak when a guy can turn into a fucking bear, or your dad is a vampire, and the teenagers in the family are trying to summon ghosts or make potions.

You and Fred were sitting in the cluttered, mismatched room that George and Fred shared at The Burrow. The scent of old wood and faint traces of their mother's cooking filled the air. The room was cozy in a way that only a space filled with years of memories could be: posters of famous Quidditch players were pinned up haphazardly, a few stray socks lay on the floor, and a pile of half-finished experiments sat on the desk. The room felt like a reflection of Fred himself—chaotic, creative, and always just a little bit mischievous.

Fred was propped up against the headboard of his bed, tossing a small ball of parchment between his hands. You sat cross-legged at the edge, your attention fixed on the open notebook between you, filled with doodles and ideas for your wizard joke shop. The soft glow from a nearby lamp cast a warm, golden hue over the room as you both scribbled, your minds brimming with the next big prank or invention that could take the wizarding world by storm.

Though George and the rest of the Weasley family were somewhere else in the house, probably causing some sort of commotion in the kitchen or lounge room, you and Fred were content to stay in your little corner of the Burrow, brainstorming in the quiet. It was the perfect moment for brainstorming—no interruptions, just the two of you and your wild ideas.

Your hand paused mid-scribble as you glanced up at Fred, catching his eye for a split second. There was a familiar comfort in the space you shared—one that had developed over years of friendship. The dynamic had always been easy between you, starting from childhood, when you would race around the Burrow together, exploring every nook and cranny of the place. But now, there was something else, something unspoken that lingered in the air between you.

You were aware of it, and Fred—well, he seemed to be aware too. You had both noticed that your bond had changed over time, growing deeper, quieter, but still somehow more powerful. It was a silent intimacy that neither of you really spoke about, but you both felt it—especially now, sitting together like this, with the hum of the Burrow in the background, the world outside just slightly out of reach.

You sighed, obviously bored - not to mention your hand was starting to cramp from all this writing. Your eyes wandered around the room before your eyes locked onto his bedside draw. Her fingers wrapped around the draw puller. "Lets see what you have in here," She said with a grin.

"Eh, not much," Fred replied, a slight grin on his face. He knew you had always been curious about his room. "Just some potions textbooks, a few quidditch supplies, and a hidden stash of sweets. Oh, and a couple of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes prototypes that we never got around to selling."

He nudged you with his elbow playfully. "Mind you, you might have to dig a bit to find the sweets. I'm not going to make it easy for you, now, am I?"

You opened your mouth to reply, but paused when you saw something that looked.. out of place. It was some sort of magazine, hiding under loose parchment and potion textbooks. Your fingers wrap around it and pull the magazine out. "Hey, what's this?-"

Fred's eyes visibly widened and he hastily snatched it out of your hand. "Its nothing, just a boring catalog." He said, his tone rushed and slightly shaky. He quickly hid it back in its original place, letting out a loud breath that almost sounded like relief.

You eyed him suspiciously. "If its just a boring catalog, why are you hiding it?" He was now refusing to meet your eye. "It- well, you know-" He tried to stutter out, failing miserably. She tried not to snicker. "It- well- can I see it or not?" She retorted, crossing her legs as she turned to face him fully. He gave her a serious look, one you rarely see on either one of the Weasley twins. "Listen,-" As soon as he even tried to explain himself, she had swiftly snatched the book and ran to the other side of the room. You were hoping it was something that would embarrass him. She expected it to be a diary, a journal - you opened the book swiftly, only to see naked women posing in different types of positions - this was a pornography magazine.

Your cheeks flushed - you had never thought about your child best friend masturbating, you didn't even think he would be able to sneak around doing such a lewd thing without getting caught by at least one family member.

"Seriously, be quiet," she teased, her tone playful but with an edge of caution. "We don’t want anyone hearing us, do we?" A smirk curled on her lips as she let the words sink in. She relished the brief moment of tension in the air, her eyes glinting with amusement.

Then, she stood, taking her time as she made her way toward the door. Her hand brushed the cool wood of the doorframe, lingering for a second as if she was debating something, before she turned back toward him. The playful gleam in her gaze softened, replaced by a more subtle, knowing expression. "I wouldn’t stay in here too long, your family'll get suspicious." She let the words hang in the air for a beat before pushing the door open and stepping out, a confident smirk playing on her lips as she pulled it shut quietly behind her.

Descending the stairs with purpose, she felt a sense of pride swell in her chest. She could hear the sounds of conversation from below, and as she turned the corner, she saw the family in the living room. Molly and Arthur were perched on the couch, the usual warmth of their presence filling the room. George and Ginny sat on the floor in front of them, the faint sound of their laughter mixing with the creaking of the wooden floor beneath their feet.

Molly’s eyes brightened when she spotted her, and she beamed, gesturing for her to join them. "Dear! Come sit, come sit! Where's Freddie?" The question was filled with curiosity, but also the kind of innocent concern that only a mother could express.

Without missing a beat, she slid onto the couch next to George, her body language confident as she casually leaned back. "He’s still upstairs," she replied nonchalantly. "He should be coming down now." She could hear the soft creaking of the stairs from above, the sound of Freddie making his way toward them.

Fred came over, his legs looking as if they were cramped together, and his hands trying to causally look like they were comfortably placed over his crotch - he was hiding his obvious boner. He looked like such a mess - face flushed, breathing unsteadily. George looked at Fred then you suspiciously, and it seemed only him and Authur suspected anything.

Dungeon Meshi Information Sources

Dungeon Meshi has several worldbuilding details and extra comics in different publications and I think they get pretty hard to keep track of so I wanted to make a guide and explain what is what for people that maybe want to look into it themselves!

The Main Information sources are:

Daydream Hour 2-5: Sketch compilations and extra comics by Ryoko Kui with commentary, which can be found on EH Scans blog translated, and also in mangadex in between the manga chapters (The first daydream hour isn't dungeon meshi related)

The Complete Daydream Hour: Or more specifically "Ryoko Kui Doodle Book Daydream Hour" Released in january 2024 it still hasn't been fully translated into english. This version compiles extras and sketches from daydream hour 1-5 along with new content. Some of the exclusive comics have been translated and can be found on reddit and bato.to but the full thing is yet to be translated. (Update: Daydream Hour is gonna be realeased in english at the end of May 2025! You can pre-order on the Yen Press website)

Delicious in Dungeon World Guide: The Adventurer's Bible (2021): A guide by Ryoko Kui that compiles information about the characters, monsters and the world. An official english version is available. It was released in february 2021 and has information pertinent for up to chapter 71 from the manga. It contains extra comics for all the main characters and for all the human/demi human races. The extras that talk about side character's backstories are from this book and the characters section has been translated by EH Scans (Also on mangadex)

Delicious in Dungeon World Guide: Adventurer's Bible Complete Edition (2024): Released in february 2024 and still untranslated, this version of the Adventurer's Bible has information updated for the end of the manga, there's even more extras and lots of comics about post-canon. Some of them are being translated and posted into reddit but I haven't seen them anywhere else. The raw is available on bato.to

Manga and Ryoko Kui's Blog: Some of it are from the manga itself, like Monster Tidbits and other Harta Magazine Extras (Where dungeon meshi is published) and also from the author's own personal blog. Lots of the drawings in her blog were deleted with the publishing of the complete daydream hour but you can still see what was unpublished using the wayback machine.

Blu-ray: The blurays is where the "what if" extra comics come from, the covers also have original art by Ryoko Kui and some other extra illustrations you can see on this tag.

I hope this helps somehow! It was pretty confusing for myself when I first started looking for more extras after finishing the manga.

The last Overcomplicated Pantalan tribe; LeafWings!

More overcomplicated dragons.

With the LeafWing, I struggled to decide what approach to take. Should I do something closer to canon or go crazy and do 100% my go-to headcanon?

Because my go-to headcanon is that LeafWings should have four wings. I found it odd that they and SilkWings both come from Pyrrhia, but SilkWings (technically BeetleWings) were the only tribe that evolved four wings? I hesitated to even mention this in my HiveWing post because idk how popular this opinion is, but even the fact that Clearsight's arrival somehow split the BeetheWings into two WILDLY different tribes is astounding, with how long dragons live.

But that's not the point of this post. We're here for LeafWings and buckle up, it's a doozy.

So first of all, the reason I justified a four-winged LeafWing is to help it camouflage as a plant better. I'll eventually provide a sheet of this, but it would have two main defence modes, the first being a single-leaf version where they lie flat on the ground or stand still with their wings drooping, creating the silhouette of a single leaf, or a version where they hang on the end of a branch and hold their wings and tail out.

It isn't just their wings that creates this look. I took the original single sail and split it in two, based on the ribs of a draco lizard, and had them run along the sides of its neck. When spread, they are a part of the single-leaf camouflage and bridge the gap between the head and shoulders. They would also have more similar frills on their front and back legs in case they need to camouflage standing up. They could use this for hunting or hiding...

Continuing with the bug-avian beak mix, I referenced african parrot species and leafcutter ants. The highly altered head is based on horned frogs and leaf geckos, and I obviously based the colouration and patterning on leaf insects (though the lighting kind of hides it on the back of the head, lol). Last but not least, I wanted to preserve and enhance the leaf cell design Joy used for the scattered body scales (at least, I'm 90% sure it's for that purpose, it seems most obvious). So, like any sane human, I found photos of plant cells under microscopes and used the rectangular-ish shapes for the main body scales.

I had so much fun making this series. It seems like a lot of people enjoyed it as much as I did. I learned a lot about external anatomy and mixing different creatures to achieve unified designs.

School is doing its best to murder me (I can't do big pieces) so from now on I'll have to stick to loose sketches I can do in-class or doodle within an hour. But once we learn more about bones and muscles I'll be able to take a crack at analyzing the full bodies of some of the tribes. I'll go in whatever order I see fit.

after listening to an among us song i was given the drive to reboot this au so ,

originated from a doodle that spiraled , SPREAD THE INFLUENCE is an au where ragatha is the ( unwilling ) host of a parasite called ' the influence ' which is a virus that only wants to spread and survive . she wasn't compliant about it at the beginning which was ' fixed ' with an itty bitty bit of psychological torment !

also yes i know the abbreviation is unfortunate and i do not care it's funny

even though ragatha's still our usual sweet little optimist , there is this persistent feeling of wrongness . too positive . too affectionate . it's like all of her humanity has been scooped out and you're left with the mask she made for others in the circus .

which is how the virus spread in the circus - they preyed on vulnerabilities which was what their host is perfect for . striking when the victim puts their guards down , making them submit under the guise that their problems will be fixed ... unfortunately it's a monkey's paw situation .

of course , that's only for this particular instance of the influencer ! something to note is that the virus takes a lot from the host's personality , so t.i's mellow and passive , only resorting to violence whenever necessary . t.i's not really an opposite ragatha she's more like a Dark , Fucked Up Version of ragatha the amazing digital circus . she cares a lot for everyone she considers a part of her hive , but it took a lot of manipulation and gaslighting for them to get infected .

caine is left uninfected because " i would do that if my goal is to destroy this place ! " t.i's ultimate fear has always been dying . it'll do everything to not die , to the point it's trying to spread out of the circus ( <- honestly take this info with a grain of salt i wrote this before i fully developed the story ) . unfortunately there's this jester who's resisting the virus with pure lesbian rage and is trying to stop her .

now rags would eventually get de-influenced and the circus will no longer be infected , but we will talk about the extremely rocky journey of recovering from knowing you harmed everyone you cared about Later

was this ' the influence ' that amanda ( ragatha's va ) keeps referencing ? sighs ... yeah . ( feels so surreal that i can say i have their seal of approval for this )

why ragatha ? in story , how is she not the perfect host ? metatextually , this is an au of an au - this came from a blog about ragatha getting a virus that is inconveniencing her life . i simply thought of an idea of ' hey what if the virus took over her body ' one day . then this abomination was born . i would reveal the why and how she got infected ... eventually .........

is she still afraid of centipedes ? is it a ragatha if she doesn't have a fear of centipedes
