Eddie Munson x Rockstar!Reader
Tumblr media
Eddie got into the nearly nonexistent line, hours before the show he’d saved up for so long for, the sidewalk behind the black rope soon to be filled with your adoring fans, who’ll wait for you to enter the stadium, hoping for autographs. You were so kind, Eddie knew, that you’d give some lucky people your presence! Or the ones who were good attention grabbers, and oh was Eddie skilled at that! Easily he made his way to the front, and he stayed there after being one of the first in the row, and through intimidating the many people who tried to barge in front of him. Body firm as he held tight to the rope, and stuck in place.
Until you came out of your car. Eddie’s body went through a rush then, every cell in him firing up and making his body soar, as he became just another part of the cacophony of screams, jumping up and down in place while you headed down the line to the stage doors, waving at everyone who screamed your name.
He couldn’t believe he was seeing you again! He’d seen you a bunch of times, but he’d never gotten this close! You were so... amazing, this close up, and not just on a poster or record art. This was you, in all your glory, pumped before a show with that intense surge he knew all too well from his smaller gigs. And Eddie was not only starstruck, but lovesick...
You signed two people’s books, who were closer to your car, before you reached Eddie. His smile beaming as he realised you were stopping! And then you took off your shades, just to smile and look into his eyes. Just for him. His mouth dropped open.
“Hey! I think I saw you this morning, outside of Brent St? I recognised your hair. It’s soooo pretty on you!” You genuinely compliment him, seeming enthused at his looks. Asking him, like this was just a normal conversation between two warm strangers. And that was Eddie. You remembered him...!
Eddie literally can’t help but cry. Fat tears blocking his vision of his dream girl, so he swipes them quickly away from his face, even as they keep coming. The charm bracelet he made based on titles from your albums, scratching at his cheek. Eddie nodded hard, his voice loud and eager. “You’re right! That was me! I’m Eddie! I’m your biggest fan I- I’ve been to every show!!! Thank you so much! You’re the pretty one!” He hopes that last one was okay, swallowing a lot of spit as it blurts out. After he tried to cram every thought into his small one on one time with you. Nervous, but you making him higher than any drug in his stash back home would do to him.
But you keep smiling at him, and his breath stops, as you lean over, and so tenderly play with his hair. “Don’t put yourself down pretty boy. You’re beautiful Eddie!” Your fingers are still teasing the roots in his hair and Eddie just about melts. It felt so good. Eddie couldn’t remember the last time someone played with his hair, someone touched him like this. And you’re touching him! You! Trying with near pain not to close his eyes from your caress, your petting, because he wanted to watch you holding him so fondly!
You sign the little autograph book Eddie can barely keep a hold of, that’d he’d almost forgotten about, and he’s thanking you over and over, just word vomiting about how he’s been following your music since day one, how much he worships it! Mentioning an underground concert basement he saw you play in, which he sees your body light up at, knowing it was one of your very first professional gigs. While you keep on signing.
But then you take his hands, cooing audibly over his rings, before letting your fingertips play over them, up to his own pads. “These are guitar players hands, right Eddie?”
Eddie nods, eagerly informing you all about the model he plays, knees trembling as you’re holding his hands. His eyes flitting between how beautiful you are this close, and what you’re writing into his skin, as you take the pen cap lid between your dark lipstick, and focus on his hand. He swears he’ll get it tattooed. Whatever it is, as soon as he’s home.
Eddie looks as you finally (unfortunately) let him go. It’s not only your autograph on his skin, but some random word. Fleeting panic bubbles up in Eddie for a second, was he supposed to understand some kind of reference? But you explained straight away, “It’s a password.” You had leant in to whisper, ducking your hand and your mouth under those pretty curls to press your cheek to his ear. Giving you two some privacy. “Give it to a backstage manager before the show. But don’t worry, I’ll still remember you again, like I did today.” When you finally leant back, you winked at Eddie. A few fans behind you screaming into his ears at the display. But almost like only you and Eddie existed, you stroked those gorgeous curls you couldn’t believe you’d only seen today, knowing you wouldn’t forget them now you had been so blessed.
Eddie can barely nod, his hands gently holding onto yours as it starts to softly slip out his grip. His eyes as wide as his lips were thick, mouth on the floor as Eddie watched you slink away. Not taking your affectionate eyes off of his until the final second, where you put your shades back on, and turned around to sign one more picture. Before ultimately waving to everyone, and heading inside. Disappearing from public view, behind heavy doors, and butch security.
Eddie’s puppy eyes could finally leave you, head slowly creaking down to his hand that was just trembling. Especially as he looked and saw the black ink still there. That just really happened... Now Eddie wasn’t running to get to his front row place through the auditorium’s doors. He was running to any stage door, any, so he could obey you. To see why you gave him this password and why you wanted to see him! And so, just like you wanted, he could go follow his star...

Thinking about this and how there are certain people claiming to be fans of OFMD who complain, rather loudly and repeatedly, there is no chemistry between Ed & Stede, and/or that their kisses had no passion, etc.
This leads me to believe that there are several possible explanations for how those people might have reached that conclusion:
1.) The people complaining have a hard time reading body language/facial expressions, so they literally can't perceive it
2.) The people complaining hate the main ship: they don't like Ed and/or Stede and/or their relationship, or the fact that their head canons for the show didn't become canon and are still upset about it, and are therefore in denial about the chemistry between Ed and Stede and refuse to see it.
3.) They are somehow from an alternate universe that has overlapped a little bit with the one most of us are in, and they literally didn't watch the same show because they watched the OFMD from their universe, not ours.
In all of the above cases, though -- the people who insist that Ed & Stede had no chemistry are just wrong. It's not really an opinion. So, based on these ideas, either:
1.) They're drawing an incorrect conclusion based on their inability to interpret body language (***and there no shame in that in & of itself, not everyone has that skill set) -- However, not being able to perceive something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Humans can't perceive ultraviolet or infrared light naturally, either. Those things still exist even if you can't see em.
2.) They're choosing to draw their conclusions based on their dislike of/disappointment in the show, and therefore willfully ignoring the evidence presented in the text (the show itself). -- If you want to argue a point and be taken seriously though, you have to provide adequate evidence. And their various arguments just aren't convincing. (I could expand upon how it's also much more difficult to prove that something doesn't exist, but I've already written way more than I intended to for what was gonna just be a short rant).
3.) If they literally watched a different, alternate universe version of OFMD, then they're not gonna convince anyone in this universe that 1+1=3 like it does in their universe. Maybe that's correct math in their universe, but that's not how it works here.
Here's the thing -- and I'm gonna use a simple example here. You can say that you don't like cilantro. You can hate it, you can be disgusted by it, especially considering that it might taste like soap to you. And that's ok! But you don't get to make the claim that it doesn't enhance the flavor of other foods/dishes in a positive way or that many people think it's yummy.
So take this simple advice, would you? You can just say "This isn't for me" and just not eat it. You don't get to say "This is bad and I'm going to keep pushing my thoughts about it onto people who do enjoy it, even while they're eating it, because I need to convince everyone to hate it too." That's not an opinion, that's just being a fucking dick. Go join your local chapter of the Cilantro Hater's Club and complain about it there with other like-minded people, and let the rest of us enjoy our cilantro in fuckin peace. And don't be surprised if we shut the door in your face (muting/blocking) when we're sick of hearing how much you hate something we love.

Hello again! Its me the one who requested the proxies with a forest ranger S/o
I sawed your post and kinda went 😮 when I found out forest rangers and fire looksouts aren’t the same thing too ngl. I originally got the idea when I watched/played ‘Fears to fathom: Ironbark lookout’. I actually looked it up and I guess the correct term would be “Park ranger” (I still don’t know bro I could be wrong) but I originally got the idea from the fears to fathom so I guess you could kinda base it off that (minus the cult) but I just thought it would be a cool idea. Like for example on the fire watch aspect, Tim is chronic Smoker and Toby is canonically a pyromaniac (idk about brain in this situation) so like Tim could be smoking or toby could be setting something on fire and you would be side eyeing tf out of them. OR, You could just be trying to peacefully sleep in your watch tower (assuming there is one) and One of them would be knocking at your damn door/window in the dead ass of the night and your just there either terrified, confused, or annoyed (its up to your interpretation).
But anyway sorry for the ramble and confusion, As always I appreciate you and hope you have a wonderful day (remember to drink water) buh/bye now <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(♡) Authors note; in my old author's note I literally said it was inspired byironbark lookout but then I hesitated bcs I thought it wasn't what you're looking for. good thing I didn't delete the previous work :3 SO SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY MOTIVATION TO WRITE ANYTHING :(
HOODIE;
-before the relationship between you two, he knew about your job as a park ranger/ fire lookout.
-actually, he knew about everything. From the tasks you usually handle to your working schedule.
-the reason he didn't kill you off was because part of your job is keeping campers away from the unregistered camp grounds which was quite convenient on his part. (Perhaps convenient for all of them)
-that way he wouldn't risk getting caught on the way/back from a mission, even though he usually drives to his destinations with a beaten up old truck. He knows how nosey some people are and would definitely pull a curiosity move and possibly find his resort.
-but he also couldn't let you run around freely around the forest either, he just kept an eye on you for a while in case you were too close to finding out about his...'business'
-i can see him stalking you slowly seeping into his routine. could be out of curiosity or genuine interest.
-during your relationship, he'd drop by from time to time in the watch tower even though it's against the rules. He'll be careful, he says.
-he's still an asshole very much like his friends, would probably disregard his mudded hiking boots by the entrance and just throw himself on your bed. Not caring if whatever substance he was covered in (blood) stains your bedsheets or something.
-to make up for it he cooks you food with whatever ingredients you have to offer :3 I like to think he's a good cook, staying out in the forest for long periods of time gained him that skill.
-if he isn't too busy, you two would watch the scenery together :) a little nice bonding moment.
MASKY;
-sigh... This motherfucker would NOT be good company for you at all.
-you could be sleeping peacefully just to wake up and find him standing at the foot of your bed just...staring.
-he's making sure they don't get you lol
-who the fuck is "they" (...does anyone get the reference)
-steals any lighters he finds in the shack just to light up his cigarettes.
-yes, when he puts out his cigarettes he just throws them on the ground. not caring if it's against the rules to litter the forest. at this point they're all trying to get you in trouble whether it's intentionally or not.
-unlike Toby, he doesn't help around that much with your tasks.
-if you manage to convince him to bring up some firewood from the shack so you can light up the fire, just praise him. it's enough to boost his already humongous ego and he might consider helping every now and then just so you could call him your strong, manly boyfrie–
TOBY;
-This stupid fucker would send you disturbing messages on his old ass flip phone at night whenever you still have the planks up.
-some shit like 'i c yu :-)'
-... yeah he never likes typing his sentences properly because he still uses those number keyboards (I don't know what they're called)
-it gives you a heart attack everytime untill you look out the window and see that it's Toby being a weirdo again.
-like anon said, he always sets random stuff on fire which always gets him in trouble, you end up reminding him that you aren't the only fire lookout in the forest and that another worker will report it.
-he doesn't listen.
-he definitely scares off any campers in areas they aren't supposed to be. Hey, at least he isn't completely useless!
-the opposite of Brian/Hoodie, instead of cooking for you he absolutely ravishes anything you have in the fridge.
-no, he isn't sorry.
-other than the things that he does to piss you off he actually does help from time to time like helping you fill in the service reporting— using the anemometer, checking the thermometer...etc
-he thinks the devices look neat :)

Ok about moral greyness in elden ring fandom
I feel like it’s mostly treated as either some kind of badass cosmetics for a GoodGuy (like “my blorbo is cool and good and kind but you know they kill people - bad people, so it’s not bad but it’s not also your Jesus guy which is normal bc who would give their second cheek”) or some kind of euphemism used by bad/problematic/pseudo intellectual people to erase morality
I’m bad problematic pseudo intellectual person so take my opinion with grain of salt, but I think it’s a great misunderstanding or what a morally grey character is in ER especially
It’s usually based on the that understanding of goodness that to be good you just need to do good things and don’t do bad things (which is of course extremely vague and not defined but anyways). It’s seems pretty straightforward and because of that brings a lot of confusion
It’s quite easy for a character to be GoodGood (even with murders but I digress), you can see it in many fix-it fanworks where often every trouble finds its own, well, fixing, and there’s always a way to set things right, maybe just with some sad deaths along the way, but characters often will find this correct way because in these universes there’s always at least one
(It’s not a rant on fanfiction I like it and I like fix-its very VERY much)
And when same logic is applied to the game itself, often arises treatment of characters as GoodGood, MisleadedGood and BadBad ones
But in the stories we see in Elden Ring context is usually such that when a character wants to get something, even something good, like for example make people live forever or cure their own sister, there’s sometimes no way of resolving their trouble without facing some kind of moral choice, even if you’re a literal half-god. You either get what you want with a price, or don’t get it… also with a price. Because fromsoftware stories are build on conflict, tragedy and irony
That’s what makes character grey, the fact there’s no third option or that you don’t have third option just because world is that way and you’re unlucky. And not choosing to get what you want can be as bad as choosing opposite. And that’s what usually makes situation complex and twisted and inherently grey
I don’t want to say that like every person in fandom should treat all the characters as mostly good ones without making some way less sympathetic than others. Making characters twisted and horrible is fun! I’m just tired of the way how people 1) don’t realise there’s often HUGE room for interpretation and make it problem of others 2) hate characters with such a passion as they were real humans who live in your neighbourhood on planet earth 2024 3) sanitise characters into strictly Good and Bad ones etc etc etc
My whole vent on Miquella’s hatebase is in fact divided into two parts, one being me thinking many people just lack understanding of the DLC/base game ideas and plot, but that’s ok we all have different opinions (I’m just the only one who is correct. LIVE WITH THAT.), and second being that vague ??rudeness?? and hatred which accompanies division on Morally Good and Morally Bad, because there’s this subtle idea like. Oh if you like Godrick/Rykard/Post-DLC Miquella / Seluvis then you’re moral pervert/ lover of Dark. Which is rarely true and really annoys me
I also have no trouble with GoodGood characters being GoodGood because, well. it’s comforting and cozy stuff. But often it turns into token of moral superiority, like look I love GoodGood guy because I’m good too and also not stupid. This is also annoying and I wish we had less of this in fandom.
It’s often also a lie to oneself, because even if we approach elden ring from I Can Simp Only Morally Pure ones (which is very boring and butchers the whole thing in my opinion) then we would probably be left with only Boc, Hewg and maybe Roderika. What do you mean you want to simp LITERAL murderers?? What do you mean you want to simp those assholes demigods who think that people are just dolls for their games, who turned the land into land of the dead because they just couldn’t stop war after war after war to decide who will make new order? What do you mean you want to simp the demigod who quit the war to do literally nothing to stop it???? CRINGE
Also GoodGood character headcanon making without self-awareness often results in very weird moral twists of its own, because in this logic character is allowed to make only GoodGood decisions, therefore all the stuff character made in canon MUST be good and morally justified. This leads to something like Marika fans writing essays on the topic You Can In Fact Deserve Genocide
Enough for today have a good day fellow dlc lovers 💪
Upd posted this on main by accident got jumpscared it’s so hard to copy past on mobile for some reason. No edgy on main I promised!!

Hello! I saw your works of what Kaveh and Cyno would be like as parents... That leaves me thinking of Al-haitham as a father. Would him take his child to his grandmother? Would he read them advanced physics books? (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)
scholarly lineage.
summary. what would alhaitham be like as a father?
trigger & content warnings. brief hypothetical mentions of assault in general, can be interpreted as s/a, but is not explicitly stated to be that way. sensory overload mentions. spoilers for alhaitham's character stories.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. dad!alhaitham & reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader. in this fic, alhaitham and the reader are both written as neurodivergent in some way; interpret it however you please!
author's thoughts. OUGDHSJGSJSG wait this is so cute. dad alhaitham..... it is such a cool thought, because with alhaitham, i don't think there's any obvious or "correct" way to write him as a dad. he could be overprotective. he could be very casual, the "cool dad" if you will. also i know i haven't been posting as much recently! it's literally only because i've been hyperfixating on hsr... whoops. /lh
Tumblr media
alhaitham as a father is a very interesting concept to me. now, believe it or not, i feel like he is a less strict father than cyno. he's actually relatively laid-back.
alhaitham is the kind of guy who raises his child to be smart. he raises them to play the game, not to be played by it, you know? therefore, he believes in his child's judgement and their ability to make wise decisions. he feels no need to be protective over them.
(however... that does not mean someone could do something harmful to them and get away with it. if anyone does anything to hurt them? abuses them? verbally, physically, or worse? good lord, he does not take well to that. he is a man with power, and by the gods, he'll use it if he has to in their defense.)
if his child has sensory issues, alhaitham is very attentive to those things and will get them any and all needed accommodations. if they struggle with auditory sensory issues where they get easily overwhelmed? they'll have ear pieces that match his. <3
when people point it out, depending on who they are, they will get one of two responses; either him very blatantly admitting that yes, their headset matches his, or him getting a little embarrassed and claiming it was all he had on hand at the moment. liar. /lh
it's kaveh that gets the latter response, of course.
if they ever happen to get annoyed with their father in their moments of overwhelm, he doesn't take it personally at all. sensory overload will do that to a person. he gets it, tbh.
i think alhaitham would definitely want his kid to attend the akademiya. ideally, haravatat, but he supposes he'd be okay if they enrolled in a different darshan. he'll recover...
UNLESS they enroll in kshahrewar. alhaitham would NEVER recover from a betrayal of that magnitude!! however, his grandmother herself was from kshahrewar, so... well. he'd get over it, he guesses. he'd still prefer if they enrolled in haravatat.
whatever darshan they enroll in honestly doesn't matter, though, because if anyone gives them trouble for any reason? all alhaitham has to do is give the problematic person a single look and suddenly the issue is resolved! apparently people think he's scary. not that he minds. he likes it that way; it keeps trouble away from both him and his child.
of course, he won't intervene unless they specifically seek out his help, because he knows his kid can handle themselves. still, he pulls a few strings behind the scenes every now and then. he doesn't really want to see his kid struggle. he knows they're intelligent, and he also knows he doesn't have to worry about them not wanting to work for themselves. therefore, he sees no reason to let them struggle needlessly.
he'd also understand if they weren't too big a fan of being surrounded by so many people. he isn't fond of it, either, so he'd let them stay in his office whenever needed. he'll even invite them to do their classwork in there rather than anywhere else in the akademiya, simply so that they don't have to be around a bunch of random people they couldn't possibly be less interested in.
alhaitham definitely read his kid very difficult books when they were little, which would totally lead to them being ahead of their peers. that really wouldn't be unexpected, i think. they probably enrolled in the akademiya a little early.
you know that "i know you don't know any astronomical pretentious voluminous colossal words" audio? yeah, that was alhaitham's kid when they were small.
also, yes, alhaitham would absolutely take them to his grandmother!! i think she would see their father in them, just like how she saw alhaitham's parents in him. of course, this is before her death.
i think alhaitham would ultimately be content that his child got to meet the woman who raised him.
to think that she saw himself in them...
it brings him an odd sense of pride and comfort.
and as a little treat:
kaveh is kind of like another dad (or like a wine uncle LMAO) for them. do what you will with this information.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

Hi IS!! I seriously hope you're actually taking a break from Tumblr and social media instead of reading this haha, but I've been a follower for a few months now and couldn't help but send in a little post after seeing your rant. As someone who grew up with 2012 and adores it, and also as someone who respects Rise for what it is, I understand. 2012 is a huge comfort show to me and I've definitely gotten upset when all people do is go out of their way to tell you how horrible the show is without reason. 2012 is by no means perfect!! I am extremely aware of its flaws, but I don't believe that gives anyone permission to go out of their way just to ruin it for you. To target the one criticism that drives me a bit nuts, the "real brothers" thing. Rise has a very valid interpretation of brothers! But as someone with 3 other siblings, it is not sunshine and rainbows all the time. My older siblings would make me cry, we would fight and get hurt and hurt each other all of the time, my younger sibling would tattle on me, etc etc. But we also look out for each other, and have grown out of many of those things since then. I see a lot of my own sibling situations in 2012. Sure, it doesn't get everything right (and can be purposefully exaggerated because it is a cartoon!!), but it isn't wrong either. Everyone has different family experiences, and believing that Rise is the only correct interpretation of siblings would just be a bit narrow minded. I have many, many more points I could make in regards to the sibling ordeal (and other criticisms you mentioned!) but I'll leave it here for now. Overall, just enjoy what you want to enjoy! This goes for everyone. Someone is always going to want to rain on your parade, don't give them the power to do it. It's so much easier and less tiring to spend your time enjoying something you love over dunking on something you hate. :)
Thank you <3
As I mention over here, not really in a place to drop it yet, but I may sometime in the future. Your support is greatly appreciated!
As someone who grew up with 2012 and adores it, and also as someone who respects Rise for what it is, I understand. 2012 is a huge comfort show to me and I've definitely gotten upset when all people do is go out of their way to tell you how horrible the show is without reason.
Exactly! I have nothing against rottmnt. RISE is a great addition to the TMNT fandom. It has its highs and lows like anything else. It didn't deserve the dislike that many fans gave it in the beginning.
So why does 2012 deserve the exact same treatment after its time is over? Why doesn't it deserve the same respect for its diversity?
They experimented with some awesome and iffy things.
Some things worked and others didn't. Why can't we leave it at that?
I try and read the opinions that say "I like this, this, and this, but-" and ignore anything that is pure hate or comes from an account that has never said a single nice thing about the show.
But even then, it's often always the same old list of complaints.
And, like, Donnie is downright awful with his comebacks but sometimes I find myself doing the daily quote thing to the screen when I come across someone who is being supremely unreasonable.
Tumblr media
(Not that I'd ever actually say that to anyone. It's my stress vice.
But. I definitely think it. Very hard.)
To target the one criticism that drives me a bit nuts, the "real brothers" thing.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH BRINGS ME AN UNNAMABLE JOY.
You hit the nail right on the head!!
My family dynamic is so similar to these boys. One of my siblings very seriously told me a few days ago that I am not at all attractive, but a few weeks ago, the same sibling also reassured me that I deserved a love interest so much better than any person the world has handed me. Freakin' Raph impersonator over here.
Literally, I have siblings who interact like Leo and Raph. Constantly trying to be the superior in the relationship and hating when the other bosses them around. But you'd almost never find them apart because they are the other's shoulder to lean on.
I'm not anyone innocent either. I've said lots of things that I didn't mean in the past and I still slip up from time to time. I'm the type of person to be annoyed with a sibling and smack/shove them. My siblings do the exact same! Teasing and mocking and crude words aren't anything crazy. It's just how our fam do family.
I have a sibling who is just as insane and annoying as Mikey, but it's so frustrating because he's either purposefully stirring chaos and then laughing when we get upset, or so innocent and confused when I'm getting mad at him for doing something similar a while later.
We get so tired of it. But it's not his fault. He's untreated ADHD and lives his life to the fullest. What you gonna do? Stifle that? Please.
We get so tired of each other.
But we're always the first to have each others' backs.
Overall, just enjoy what you want to enjoy! This goes for everyone. Someone is always going to want to rain on your parade, don't give them the power to do it. It's so much easier and less tiring to spend your time enjoying something you love over dunking on something you hate. :)
Thank you so much. I always try to remind myself of that, but some days it can be hard. I really appreciate your kind words! I hope anyone reading this is also making note of them.
I don't ever want to be a hater.
Going giddly over the boys being themselves is so much more fun.

The Bad Batch Appreciation Week 2024 is HERE!!!
The time for appreciating Clone Force 99 has arrived! Y'know, like the cavalry 😅 Don't mind my bad pun!
What I was saying? Oh, yeah! The prompts have been revealed HERE, so we must refresh the rules. They're the same as last year, but it doesn't hurt to review them again, right? So:
Event Info & Rules
TBB APPRECIATION WEEK is a week-long, prompt-based creation challenge to celebrate our love for the Batchers and the show. There are 7 groups of prompts—one for each day of the week—, which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. They are meant to be an inspiration without being taken literally (i.e., you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts in your work). Feel free to interpret them at your convenience. For example, if the prompt is “anooba”, you can create either something about the animal, use it as a name/mascot of a sports team in your modern-day AU, or as an analogy for someone with a voracious appetite. It’s up to you.
Each group contains a Theme (which is in and on itself a prompt), an AU/Trope, Dialogue, an extra character, NSFW, and a color palette). You can use them in combination or just pick one. The idea is to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible. The participants can create works in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, art, edits, gifs, videos, playlists, cosplays, etc. The only restriction is that it needs to be focused on The Bad Batch (can be on a particular Batcher alone).
Also, people can participate as little or as much as they want, meaning that they don’t have to do ALL the days if they can't/don’t want to.
Collaborations are welcome and even encouraged. For example, if an artist and a writer want to work together, or a writer and a podficcer, or two writers, go for it!
When uploading TBB Appreciation Week content to your Tumblr blog, be sure to mention this blog and add the following hashtags:
#tbbaw2024
#the theme of the day and/or #prompt(s) used
#medium (gifset, fic, podcast, fanart, etc.)
#trigger warnings, if applies. (Please do NOT to add “tw” in front or at the end but only use the word/trigger itself, because the way Tumblr tag blocker feature works, it makes it harder for people to block the right tag.) (List of trigger warnings)
#nsfw (only for NSFW content)
#any other relevant tags go here
PLEASE BE DILIGENT WITH YOUR TAGGING (both by mentioning the blog and putting the necessary tags). That'll ensure that your post will be reblogged on this blog.
I'll do my best to reblogged everyone's posts, but if it passes 2–3 days and I haven't posted yours, please let me know.

Tumblr media
Uh oh! Someone left me alone with my thoughts again! I don't see many people talking too deeply about pre-game stuff beyond "Number One was a terrible person" so I'm here to throw my own poorly explained hot take in to the ring-
I'm not really built for theory crafting and tend to miss or forget obvious details so consider this... an AU proposal more then anything. (Tbh I mostly just wanted to draw smol Yuma lmao-)
Spoiler warning ofc and enjoy this horrifically long and poorly explained ramble-
So... I don't really know much about the general fandom age headcannons on characters. I won't be going in to specifics right now about what I think all the character ages are cuz this isn't about that but for context, I pin Yuma around 15-16, on the early 18 side if you really wanna push it. Mainly cuz... it'd be kinda weird for Kurumi (a school student) to be one of his main love interests otherwise- For the sake of argument, I'll say 18.
So anyways-
Makoto's like... what? 3 or 4 years old? Forgive me for not re-watching chapter 5 just to get my timeline correct here but that's roughly right. Meaning that Number One would've been about 13 or 14 when he agreed to participate in the experiments at most. And sure, he's the smartest person in the world but anyone can be susceptible to lies or manipulations, especially someone that young.
But then of course we don't know how long Yuma had the Number One title for. Surely it would've had to have been at least a little while- I doubt the unified government would go after the blood of the newly appointed "smartest detective in the world" the second he got in to office. So who's to say exactly how much this literal child had been manipulated beforehand?
I'm imagining a sort of... Nagisa plus Kirigiri scenario (the danganronpa characters lol-) where they'd been set on a very specific academic path nearly their whole lives. Sure, Yuma probably had been born a genius and his strong moral code was most likely all his own but... no matter what way you spin it, there must have been some negligence to allow someone so young to become so cut off from the rest of society. It could've been intentional, it could've been accidental. Either way, why is someone like Yuma, who is obviously younger then most of his peers, who could easily pass as a trainee detective simply because of how smol he is, make it all the way to the top on his sheer intelligence alone?
This rambling's getting incoherent, sorry, it's late and I'm tired-
Makoto's pretty manipulative, sure, but he only got to the CEO position cuz of all the blackmail he had- Man had zero control over the city to the point he had to let outsiders get smuggled in just to help him fix it. Makoto (and by extension Number One) is book smart. Not street smart. They can build the rain machine, they can run multiple government conspiracies, etc etc. But if Number One was a kid at the time, it would've been pretty difficult for them to manipulate, mansplain, malewife his way in to office imo. A kid can't manipulate a dozens of adults in to being the leader of the whole WDO, no matter how naturally gifted they are. I mean it's no secret that the unified government and by extension the WDO are just as shady as Amaterasu so why wouldn't they take advantage of a young and impressionable kid when the opportunity arises?
We don't really know how Number One truly felt about anything. We know how Makoto views it, we know what Yuma thinks about it but we don't know if Number One really understood what the repercussions of the experiments could've been.
So let me just... break down what I'd interpret a vague timeline of events to be (in this hypothetical... Uh... AU I guess?)
- Yuma gets in to the WDO somehow. Very young, very impressionable. He may be really good at solving crimes but like any kid, he doesn't know anything that he isn't taught about. Being surrounded by mysteries and crimes, all while constantly being praised by adults as being "just soooo smart!" Is probably what taught him that he didn't need other people and so never learnt (or potentially was never even allowed to) make friends.
- Growing up surrounded by a combination of Yes-Men and people who let the obvious child labour/ exploitation slide because "This little genius is such a special case, we gotta let it slide this once!" Made it so he reached to the level of Number One far faster then anyone would expect. And that then came along with abandoning his old name and identity, isolating himself completely for his own protection. (I like to think he may not even remember his original name because he was so young at the time (for extra angst ^vO))
- And so a completely isolated pre-teen, who's entire life up until this point has entirely consisted of gory murder scenes and tragic crimes he was personally responsible for solving, was approached by the unified government. Who knows exactly how much detail they went in to with explaining their plan? Maybe they said that it probably wouldn't even work out, given all the past failures. Maybe they came begging for his help, like many people seeking justice would have done before them. Maybe they simply told him it was for the sake of peace? Maybe he was in his angsty emo phase and thought having a clone would be cool, who really knows? A pre-teen is a pree-teen, they all do dumb things- either way, he agreed.
- And so things played out like they said in the game, Makoto was created, escaped, saved the citizens of Kanai Ward via isolating them. He keeps them fed the only way he knows how - through the WDO; the only organisation he's ever been able to rely on (and thanks to his authority level, of course). Yuma starts getting suspicious while also simultaneously maturing enough to realise just how wrong everything about his life is, gets his new identity, makes the contract with Shinigami and heads off to start fixing his problems.
Additional Thoughts:
It's like that thing in the original beauty and the beast movie where everyone suddenly realised that the witch probably cursed a 9 year old for not letting a creepy stranger in to his home-
Maybe that's why he stuck with the name Yuma after everything. Cuz he didn't remember his original name to fall back on. He could've been Number One for as long as he could remember for all we know!
Maybe he was so busy trying to run the whole WDO that he didn't even pay much mind to the experiments? Could've just agreed to shut them up without knowing what he was getting in to. Makoto really drove it in to the mud how horrible of a person Number One was but how can we be sure that's an objective fact and not completely opinion driven?
I'm like actually really curious what other's perspectives on this could be. Again, I don't know much about the rain code fandom's age headcannons but it's pretty obvious to me at least that Yuma's on the younger end of the cast- (And by extension, Makoto too-)
Maybe I'll fact check myself when I have the time- either way, it's an interesting AU idea at the very least. I'll probably delete the writing portion of this post if it turns out I'm horrendously wrong-
Its probably gunna turn out that Yuma's in his mid 30s or 40s and suffers from baby face syndrome or something cringe fail like that lmfao-
So. Yeah. That's all just a theory (minus most of the fact checking) A GAME THEORY- Thanks for reading! :D

it may be a bit angsty of an idea, but in that moment before his death when Lastimosa links BT7274 to Jack, his last saying "Take care of him", I like thinking that both BT and Cooper took it as if Lastimosa talked to them in that moment, about the other. it'd be interesting if it'd come up between them at any point. Jack: okay, but he was talking to me?? BT7274: negative. it's the titan who should take care of the pilot. it's in the derictives Jack: Jack: --listEN HERE, U DUMMY--
you have perfect timing cause I was just talking about Jack coming up with Protocol 4: protect the Titan
update: all further Titanfall stuff is going to be on my new Titanfall sideblog! best-titan-7274
“You know,” Jack says, “you really should be more careful.”
“Request clarification.”
“Well, there’s gotta be a limited number of Titan parts around. Only so many times you can be repaired.”
“Correct. There will someday come a point when Titans’ physical forms can no longer be repaired. However, with the current availability of raw materials, machinery, and skilled workers, I estimate that appropriate repairs for Titans will be available for another 174 years, without factoring in future availability of new materials and workers.”
Jack really should have seen that coming. BT can be a little too literal at times, and even with how long they’ve been together now, Jack can still be wrong about how to be clear with him.
“I meant that I don’t want to see you get damaged. I don’t–” Jack looks down at his hands, at the grease-streaked rag twisting between them, over and over. “I don’t want to lose you again.”
“It is unlikely that I will be heavily damaged in combat again. Adequate repairs will be provided. The deployment of another SERE kit should not be required.”
“It shouldn’t have been required the first time,” Jack mutters. He tosses the rag onto the rolling tool cart next to him and paces away. He’s never been great at emotional talks, he knows – but it’s different when he saw BT die. When he was never supposed to see his Titan ever again.
“I sense that you are in emotional distress.”
No shit. But BT gets quiet when Jack snaps at him. It’s stupid to compare a huge war machine to a kicked puppy, but it’s the thought that keeps coming to Jack’s mind, whenever they argue about something.
Besides, he never did like arguing with his friends.
“I’ll be fine, BT. Don’t worry about me.”
“Pilot Lastimosa told me to take care of you. Protocol 3 is extremely important.”
“Wait, what?” Jack turns, confused now. “He told me to take care of you. To make sure that you were okay. After two and a half years together, you meant the world to him.”
“Negative. I cannot dispute Pilot Lastimosa’s affection for me, but it is the Titan who is required to protect the Pilot. It would be ineffective to fully place the Titan’s safety in the Pilot’s hands.”
“Gee, thanks.”
“You are welcome.”
Ah, right. That literal mind again. Usually Jack just finds it funny, but at times like this, it can be a little frustrating. BT doesn’t always understand the way his words can be interpreted. Jack’s not sure if he even tries.
Does it really matter, either way?
“Look, I just want to keep you safe,” Jack says. “I know you’re a Titan, and there’s not a lot that can cross you, but you pretty much died. Twice. Humans get kind of upset by things like that.”
“Humans are often illogical about the destruction of non-organic objects.”
“Yeah, but you’re as much a person as I am. Maybe not literally, but when it counts, you and me, we’re a lot alike.”
“Incorrect. There are a significant amount of large differences between us.”
“I’m trying to protect you, dumbass! Protocol 4 is a thing!”
BT crouches down for a better look at him, and Jack tilts his head to keep eye contact. Kind of. Staring at that glowing blue dot is the closest thing.
“I am unfamiliar with any further protocols beyond the three assigned to me.”
“Protocol 4,” Jack repeats. “Protect the Titan. Everything you do for me, I do for you. Deal?”
For a second, he’s not sure what BT thinks of him, or the new protocol, or anything – and then BT gives him a thumbs up, and he knows everything’s right in their world.

So I'm reading that new Larian interview for BG3, which has really popped up at a great time for me research-wise, and I see this for Ascended Astarion:
"So with Astarion, his evil ending is actually him…much of what he does is out of fear. And as a player, you can say to him, "You're right to be afraid." And that sends him to a really horrible place, and that I think is really powerful."
Now I've been doing a lot of research into vampires and vampire spawn in literature & D&D mechanics lately - partly for fic ideas, partly because this fandom frustrates me to no end sometimes with some of the things I read and I kind of want to do a breakdown on my own view and interpretation on the character - and this quote is very much something I agree with.
From Act 1 Astarion acts mainly upon fear and survival. He is not a good person, and he will do anything to survive. He literally uses any weapons or tools he has to build a net of safety within the group or with Tav, regardless of whether his methods are healthy for him or not. He knows no other way, because for the past two hundred years at least, he has known nothing but cruelty.
Even as you move further and further into the game, Astarion doesn't stop being afraid. As a Bhaalspawn who romances him but fails to kill Isobel, Sceleritas will comment that 'he is so afraid, so very afraid of everything, but you. The one thing he should fear the most'. In Act 3 after the other spawn attack the party, if a romanced Tav argues with him about the Ascension ritual, there's a response where Astarion will say 'I'm doing this for both of us, you know? To keep us both safe'.
Astarion is fueled by fear, and he believes that power is a way to ensure he won't ever have to fear anything again. That he won't have to be weak anymore (he sees himself as weak, ignoring the utter strength he has to even be able to survive the amount of torture and abuse he's lived through for so many years). During the decision of whether to allow him to Ascend or not, it takes an intervention from the person he trusts the most to even attempt to talk him down - and even that option is a journey of dice rolls and making the correct choices.
Astarion follows in the footsteps of the playstyle and the behaviors of the player character. He values his freedom and independence, but he doesn't know how to live without fear because, as far as he remembers, fear has been his entire existence. Even if you don't let him ascend, when you ask him how he feels about freedom he says it's both terrifying and exhilarating - it's a new kind of fear for him, the fear of a vast future open for him, one that isn't ruled beneath the hand of someone who controlled him.
In either ending - bad or good - Astarion gains and loses something. In a good ending, he gains freedom and the chance to start anew - to a limit, as he looses the ability to walk in the sun. In a bad ending, he gains security, safety and power - but loses himself in the process:
"Whether or not a vampire retains any memories from its former life, its emotional attachments wither as once-pure feelings become twisted by undeath. Love turns into hungry obsession, while friendship becomes bitter jealousy. In place of emotion, vampires pursue physical symbols of what they crave, so that a vampire seeking love might fixate on a young beauty. A child might become an object of fascination for a vampire obsessed with youth and potential. Others surround themselves with art, books, or sinister items such as torture devices or trophies from creatures they have killed." - Players Handbook, 5e
^ This is something that really interests me, because how much of that extends to the Vampire Ascendent is up to the player. I have my own thoughts for what this means for a romanced Astarion - and maybe I'll write something about that at some point, or post my thoughts in more detail later if anyone is interested - but the fact that the Vampire Ascendent is different from a normal vampire due to it being born from a deal made with a devil, I think, gives enough creative leeway for writers and players to play around with how they interpret to fit with their own playstyle.
Astarion, throughout the game, is at the very beginning of a long journey of being a survivor of abuse and trauma. I don't think he's really able to process or work on recovery until Cazador is dead - he is the looming threat for Astarion, after all, the shadow that is always there. Because even if they defeat the Netherbrain but don't defeat Cazador, Astarion is still at huge risk of becoming his toy again - but how he chooses to work through that and learn to handle his fear, depends on the person he becomes throughout the journey. And the player character is a huge influence to this - for better or for worse.

(Speaking of projecting things into the show that I don't think the writers intended, let's go back to my Season 3 Buffy rewatch and talk a bit more about Faith.)
There's an interesting moment in Bad Girls that gets echoed a few episodes later in Enemies (presumably deliberately, since both episodes were written by Doug Petrie).
Both episodes feature a scene where Faith, having just killed somebody (Allan Finch in Bad Girls, the demon offering to sell the Books of Ascension in Enemies) appears to show regret for her actions (coming back to stare at Finch's body in Bad Girls, staring at the blood on her hands in Enemies). And in both cases, if you listen to the episode's writer, this is meant to mislead the viewers: Faith actually isn't meant to be feeling guilty at all.
The audience is meant to think that Faith is feeling bad, only for her later actions to surprise us (either because she was just planning to dump the body in Bad Girls, or because she immediately goes on to try to exploit her apparent crisis of conscience to try to recruit Angel to the Mayor's side) and show that she really wasn't feeling anything of the sort. On the Bad Girls audio commentary, Doug Petrie is pretty clear about this: "she really doesn't", he says, after Faith tells Buffy she dumped Finch's body and claims not to care that she killed him.
The thing is though, that ... this doesn't really make sense. If Doug Petrie had not literally written the episode I wouldn't give it much thought at all. In-universe, who is Faith meant to be trying to fool? She's alone in both these scenes, after all. She doesn't actually have anybody watching her. Doug Petrie might have intended the scenes where she seems to show remorse to be misdirections, but they are written (and performed) in such a way that this interpretation doesn't really seem convincing.
And so, by including them, the most plausible reading of the show becomes, not that Faith was pretending to be upset in order to trick an invisible audience, but rather that she genuinely is feeling guilt on some level. A feeling which she then goes on to surpress for as long as she can, arguably right up until next year's Five by Five. Buffy is actually correct: on some level, Faith does care and wants help. She just isn't able to articulate that or admit to it, and by the time she is able to she's gone far enough that Buffy is no longer willing to offer any help.
Fortunately, then, this is also a much more interesting take on the character. A Faith who accidentally kills somebody and genuinely doesn't regret it at all isn't very compelling as a character and doesn't really work as a mirror to Buffy Summers either (because one thing the show is very consistent on is that Buffy Summers absolutely could not accidentally kill somebody and then shrug it off). A Faith who accidentally kills somebody and desperately tries to convince herself that this is fine and not her fault and she doesn't care anyway, going on to do much worse things as a result: that's much more narratively rich, to me.
But, listening to the episode commentary, it really does feel like this is a take on the character that the show stumbles into, rather than one which it consciously planned out in advance. If you watch Bad Girls and think Faith really doesn't care about having killed a man, then ... well, I still think your interpretation is kind of boring, but you do have the writer on your side. The more interesting and more sympathetic reading does seem to more luck than judgment on the writers part.
(On the other hand, if you watch Amends and think Faith really was invited to a "big party" for Christmas then I'm afraid you're on your own.)

People still suck at writing Sonic the Hedgehog
Interpretations of Sonic outside of media made by Sonic Team often seem either unable or unwilling to reconcile the fact that Sonic is both kind-hearted and intelligent, but I think I've noticed a recent shift in the way writers try to reconcile it.
In general, there seems to be this belief that smart people are inherently more pessimistic toward the world and that kind people are inherently more naive towards it. So, when writing for a character who's both smart and kind, less knowledgeable writers end up flanderizing them in one of two ways:
The first way, which is how Sonic was interpreted in Sonic Boom and prior, is making the character act like a jerk who knows best. At worst, they'll be outright rude towards their closest friends, but any criticism they get for it will be ignored because their opinions are always correct in the eyes of the narrative. At best, they'll sometimes make mistakes and learn lessons about being nicer to other people, which is something their non-flandarized self wouldn't have struggled with.
The second way, which is how Sonic is interpreted now, is making the character a saint who solves everything with friendship. At worst, they'll give absolute tyrants a million chances, but any criticism they get for it will be ignored because their opinions are always correct in the eyes of the narrative. At best, they'll sometimes make mistakes and learn lessons about certain people being unwilling to change, which is something their non-flandarized self wouldn't have struggled with.
You may have noticed I straight up copy/pasted a couple bits of those last two paragraphs. Well, that's because those bits reveal a bit of truth in how Sonic is portrayed by Sonic Team. Sonic's opinions are always correct in the eyes of the narrative, because of the lessons he no longer struggles with. Sonic already learned to balance his desire to give people a second chance with the fact that some people just have to be stopped. When? Since the very beginning. Sonic has always been trying to defeat Eggman for good while also giving second chances to people who he thinks deserve it.
But how do you deal with people who are causing so much harm when you still think they deserve a second chance? Guess what? Sonic answered that straight up in Sonic Adventure 1.
Do me a quick favor and if you can listen to Open Your Heart, specifically the Sonic Adventure 1 version (Click here). You may notice that there're two distinct sets of vocals; One clean and high pitched, and one distorted and low pitched. (And if you're wearing headphones the audio will even pan during the chorus.) For context, this is the song that plays while Sonic is fighting Chaos.
You can figure it out yourself from there, but if you want me to really dig into the topic, feel free to keep reading.
So like, I shouldn't have to say this, but the dark negative voice is Chaos' view and the light positive voice is Sonic's. But notably, they sing together during key points, specifically those related to the anger, sadness, and hopelessness that Chaos has been feeling for ages. Sonic has recognized that 1. imprisoning Chaos as suggested by Tikal wouldn't solve anything because, 2. Chaos is only acting this way due to being blinded by hatred for those he perceives as selfish monsters, and 3. he's still very much currently destroying the world and won't change his mind because he's lost hope that there's anything worth holding on to.
What does Sonic do then? Sonic may be an unstoppable force but Chaos is a seemingly immovable object. Well, he literally uses the positive energy from his friends and within himself to stop Chaos' rampage and prove that there are still good people in the world that want to maintain peace. After he loses the fight, Chaos is able to calm down and see that the cute defenseless chao he'd been protecting ages ago had survived, living among the very people he had assumed could only be power hungry monsters. He's able to let go of his hatred and live a peaceful life understanding that good people still exist and the world is still worth protecting.
And that's where the question is answered. How do you deal with people who are causing so much harm when you still think they deserve a second chance? You do everything you can to stop them, and if they're still around afterward, show them that they didn't need to fight in the first place. But that only works if they had a good reason behind why they were fighting, and would have chosen peace otherwise.
Sonic wanted to give Chaos a second chance because he knew that violence was not truly in his nature. Had he not been forced into those specific circumstances, Chaos would have chosen peace.
And that's what separates characters who have done a lot of harm but Sonic still gave a second chance to like Chaos and Merlina, from those who have done a lot of harm but Sonic wouldn't give a second chance to, like Eggman and Erazor Djinn. The former wanted peace but became convinced that it was impossible, and the latter only wanted power and were willing to hurt others to obtain it. The characters who Sonic won't give another chance to have proven that when dealt a better hand, they'll still chose to hurt others solely for their own gain, because that's what they want. To stop them peacefully, Sonic would have to convince them to give up their true dreams.
And that, is why Sonic's opinions get to always be treated as right in the games, because they are right. He has an absolutely kind heart, a nuanced understanding of morality, and the integrity to never give in to selfish desires.
None of this means Sonic is always right, though. Most people already know of his impulsiveness, which is his greatest weakest, but also one of his greatest strengths. Sonic never waits to act, which is great when innocent people are seconds from mortal danger... but not so great when a situation looks to be one way but is actually another. He teases Eggman for pleading for a second chance in Unleashed and he kicks the Cacophonous Conch from Eggman's hand in Lost World, and both of those were massive mistakes.
But, despite making those mistakes, his mindset wasn't the problem. How was he supposed to know Eggman was a shockingly good actor leading him into a trap? How was he supposed to know the people Eggman was controlling with the conch were equally as evil? (Yes Tails tried to warn him but literally if he didn't Sonic wouldn't have looked stupid and it just shows how poorly written Lost World was overall.) Had Eggman actually been pleading and the Zeti good people, Sonic's actions would've been justified.
Still, those were mistakes, and Sonic always wants to do what's right, so he does what he can to fix his own messes. He restores the planet Eggman broke apart. He stops the Zeti from sucking the life out of the planet. Sonic always makes things right in the end, and so he has the right to be so confidant in his beliefs. So confidant in fact that he doesn't care about looking like the bad guy if it means doing the right thing. Oh look, there's a song about that too. From Sonic's fight with Merlina in Sonic and the Black Knight. (Click Here.) Don't be fooled by the feminine vocals, if you paid attention to the themes of the game, the song is clearly from Sonic's perspective.
So yeah, Sonic is kind but he's also smart. He won't let anyone change his mind on anything, but he doesn't need to change his mind because he follows his kind heart and compassionate soul. He doesn't worry about looking like the bad guy because he and his friends know his true nature. When he gets angry he lets his rage fuel his desire to save the day. He'll never shed tears of despair because he knows that if he keeps fighting he'll make things right in the end. Sometimes his impulsiveness gets him into trouble, but it also helps get him back out. No matter what happens to him, he'll always make it out in the end either through sheer determination or the help of his friends.
Sonic is absolutely silly; He makes dumb jokes about his enemies and talks to himself when there's nobody around. Sonic is completely serious; He's willing to kill someone if it means saving the world and has felt multiple friends die before his eyes and in his arms.
Sonic is literally just some blue hedgehog who can run really fast.
Sonic is a god, and could kill god, and there is not a difference!
But most importantly, Sonic is all of those things at once. He is a wonderfully balanced character who's been right from the very beginning and has spent all his games sharing his wisdom with others simply by being himself. He isn't perfect, but that's not due to some personality flaw he needs to correct, but because nobody can always have all the answers and know how to avoid all potential mistakes.
The problem is, writing a character like this is hard. Writing conflicts for a character like this is hard. Most writers rely on making their protagonists work through relatable flaws to create an emotionally compelling story... but you don't need to do that. Sonic's conflicts are mostly external, but we care about him succeeding anyway because he's a good person who's just trying to live his life.
So really, if you wanna write Sonic well, you have to just let him speak for himself.
...By the way I mean that literally. Dude listen to his character theme it's all right there! (Click here.) Even when his theme was altered in Sonic Adventure 2 the only thing that changed was how confidently the same ideas were delivered. (Click here.) But seriously listen to literally any of the game themes, final boss themes, and ending themes. (I'm not linking all that.) No matter the quality of the games, if Sonic wanted to teach you something he was gonna teach it... through the power of having a music department detached from the nightmare that is game development time crunch.
And that's why Sonic Lost World is the worst Sonic game. Because it was so pointless that Sonic didn't have anything to sing about!
Wait... what was the point of this post again?

You got me intrigued with the konokano ship, how do you envision it?
//actual explanation below the cut
AUGHGHH THANK YOU FOR ASKING !!! If anyone else has any questions ab them or wants me to elaborate on anything EVER pls do not hesitate to send asks I love these !!!!!!
Just as a general statement, I'm not saying I have the completely correct way to interpret all of these . I'm also not saying I think all interactions between them are intended to be romantic . Just how I see their relationship based on their canon interactions.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ kgpr spoilers ahead !!
I think a lot of the appeal to me is that they would work so well together, yet could never realistically work out? Like a 'wrong place, wrong time' kind of thing?
Outside of an alternate universe idea (which the anthologies seem to follow, at least to me), it is literally impossible for them to know eachother for more than a few days lol. Kano already knows of Konoha's existence -- to an extent, but they only ever meet when Konoha joins the mekadan on Aug 14/15 of present day. Then Konoha gets possessed and either ends up being the one to kill Kano, or turns into Haruka's snake as the awakening eyes.
Of course . When I talk about them it's in more of a casual sense? Once again, think of similarly to the anthologies. Konoha and Kano contrast eachother really well imo !!!!! I made a post about this a while ago which you can take a look at if you want, but both individually and together they are the sun and moon pairing of kagepro. Complete opposites yet so perfect for eachother . At least to me lol,,,,
Secondly,, I think they'd both be helpful for eachother? Of course, while the mktrio wouldn't judge him, Kano very clearly feels too insecure to fully let on what he's going through, shown by how he loses it in the otsukimi recital ep of mca. Konoha, with his limited experience of the world, would probably make Kano feel more secure? If that makes sense? Like . With his limited experience, Kano would likely feel as if Konoha quite literally does not have the ability to judge him. On top of that, he probably wouldn't even really say much about it, as he's generally a quiet person. Kano, as someone who isn't all that confrontational when it comes to his own feelings, would probably be more comfortable with that . At least that's how I read it idk . This is all just my interpretation of their nearly-nonexistent relationship.
Um !!!! Secondly!!! This is less of a "why they work well together" and more of a "why I think theyr cute :)))))" but . I think it's really sweet how Kano seems to have somewhat of a soft spot for Konoha?
Ignore the low quality . The official kgpr scans have horrible quality for whatever reason, but this specific page was what initially got me interested in them as a pairing when I first got into kagepro.
Tumblr media
Of course it could just be a case of Kano not wanting to get his ass beat by his sister but . Either way I think it's funny how he starts panicking almost immediately,,,, he'll tease and agitate Marry knowing that it'll likely end up with him getting temporarily frozen, but with Konoha, when he gets worked up Kano starts panicking lol ,,
Also !! In the Children Record -NO.3- sections, theres this one blurb before they go to confront Kenjirou/Clearing eyes which I think is cute,,,,,,
Tumblr media
Ofc . Like . Yeah what he did was impressive but I also just find it really endearing how Kano is all 😯😯😯😯❗❗❗❗❗❗when he sees Konoha do that,,, I think Kano both feeling a sense of responsibility for Konoha (due to him not being all too aware of things like social cues & whatnot) while also feeling a sense of admiration for him is sweet .
Later on in the novels, after Konoha gets possessed and kills both Shintaro + Kido, then Azami uses memories to come through to Marry & freeze Kuroha/Saeru, despite having barely known him (at least from what we know), Kano still seems to want to save Konoha which makes me 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Like . Yes I get that it's because Kido and Shintaro have already died (somewhat), but Konoha is just being currently possessed . But . Like . Idk it makes me a little sick,,,, I don't really have anything of note here haha . I just lovb them,,,,, bye 😜😜😜
Tumblr media
Ya !!! So . Um . Those r some thoughts on them. Thank u anon for the ask!!! If you or anyone else has any questions ab them, or wants me 2 elaborate on anything here I'd be more than happy to :D

what do you think Skara's last name is?
You ask me a very simple question.
I spent 3 hours at work questioning my philosophy on headcannons, and what the line is between writing a fan interpretation of a character in another work and simply creating an OC.
I’ll answer this question, but let me just ramble for a bit.
Imagine a bubble. A big, red bubble that reads “SKARA” on it. This is, in fact, Skara. Or, rather, the purest version of her character, specifically from the show and any related cannon media. And surrounding it are other bubbles, each also labeled “SKARA,” but including the name of some fanfiction or fanart. These are the interpretations of Skara, the different ways people write outside of the writing staff make Skara as a character. The bubbles that are closer to the pure bubble are the ones closest to her show counterpart. The ones farthest out are the ones that stray enough that they feel almost like a completely different character.
Like, the bubbles closest to the main bubble are literally just written exactly like her in the show. No frills or fluff or extra details. What you see with Skara is what you get. And the ones furthest away are AU’s where she’s like, a werewolf queen who sustains herself on the souls of orphaned babies, sees the future in pools of blood, and hates music and sports. In other words, an OC in all but name, connected only at best by name and appearance to the original.
For me, I like to imagine I write Skara somewhere in the middle. I know the version of Skara I write for Tumblr and AO3 isn’t exactly the same as the one in the show. But what differences there are, I try to write expansions to the original character, as opposed to contradictions. I often write headcannons, for instance, that Skara is an excellent cook. There’s no evidence for this in the show, of course, but there’s no evidence against it either. So, technically, one can say that this is a form of Schrödinger’s Skara: she is, and simultaneously is not, a good cook. And until Dana herself comes out to answer if Skara can or cannot cook, or some other cannon material answers that question, I’m freely allowed to believe she is, and choose to believe it. Likewise, there’s not a lot of evidence really that Skara is a chaotic bisexual gremlin with a stupidly big crush on Willow. But again, there’s no evidence to suggest she isn’t. So I’m still able to claim I’m writing Skara, just expanding on her.
But I’ll never say anything, like, ‘Skara is a lesbian who would never ever date a man,’ because that doesn’t pass the smell test. She clearly went on a date with a guy in Grom. So at that point I’m just contradicting the original Skara in a way that feels too OOC to reasonably match with her in the show.
So you’re probably asking, what in the nine circles of Hell does any of this have to do with Skara’s last name?
Simply put, whenever I try to think of a last name for Skara, I can't imagine a new Skara bubble forming at all. Giving her a last name makes me not think of her as Skara.
Names are important to identify a character by, far more so then just if they can cook or not. So if I decided to say, like "I headcannon that Skara's last name is Smith," now I feel less like I'm talking about Skara, the character from TOH, but Skara Smith, my OC that happens to have every defining characteristic of Skara from TOH, but still isn't her at all. Even if I gave Skara a last name, and Dana herself came out to say that the last name I gave her was correct, it would feel like I had separated my Skara too much from the original for her to even have a real hint of her essence. That's why I don't really give her a last name at all in any of my writings.
And yes, I've named characters surrounding Skara: Guitar Strings names her date from Grom as Ves, and I often write that Skara's Palisman is named Daisy. But those are just things that surround Skara, barely characters outside of her. Giving HER a name though... that... that's a bit more of a tall order for me.
HAVING SAID ALL THIS!
Here are a few suggestions I can think of for potential last names Skara might have. Just know, these aren't me saying "These are what I headcannon Skara's last name as," it' me saying "These could make potentially cute last names for Skara."
Brae - If you've ever searched up Skara without specifying 'The Owl House' or 'The Greatest Character Ever,' you've probably heard of Skara Brae. You can read about it from it's Wiki entry here, but essentially it's the incredibly well preserved, neolithic remains of a Scottish village. And more importantly in this case, probably where Skara got her first name. So making her last name Brae would be fitting, though admittedly a bit of a silly and lazy answer.
Bell - A bit of a more musical name, tying in with her status as a Bard, and one I like a bit better then Brae. For one, it ties more directly into Skara's personality, and it's more simple to understand. I also like that it somewhat sounds like Belle, as in the French word for beauty, which would fit her well. Finally, I can't deny that I now want a Christmas themed Skarlow one-shot called "Skara Bells," about Skara looking for the perfect gift for Willow during the holidays (which I've written about before here).
Strist - Not actually a real word, but an intense conjoining of the term "strategist," which is how I could best think to make a name to tie into her time as the Entrails strategist.
Cendre - The easiest of these to explain: It's simply French for 'ash,' like Skara's ashen hair.
Admittedly, I'm not particularly amazed with any of these answers, which is probably another reason I don't have a last name for Skara. But still, I hope you like these suggestions, and if you ever want to use them for a story yourself, I'd love to read it.
(Also, let's be real: We all know in the end it's gonna be Park anyway.)

Do your ocs know each other and if so how do they feel about that.
they do! my book is gonna be split into two parts, and kurt (the protagonist) will meet billy at the beginning of the second part. at the time, kurt's looking for someone to kill but instead clocks billy as "like him" (this can be interpreted as either "also trans" or "also a serial killer", both are correct).
that said, their relationship is FRAUGHT. it's a friendship/enemy/romance mix, largely due to the fact that neither is very good at being a person. kurt's too isolated from other people to even understand them, and billy's not good enough at reading other people to match their tone. so most of their interactions are like
kurt: please be serious for once in your life. please learn opsec. please do not get us arrested or killed. billy: uhmmm ok but what if I were silly about it tho :3 this is so fun lol kurt: what the fuck are you talking about. this is not fun. I am literally going to kill you if you keep acting this way and I'm not kidding!
+ added is the fact that billy hasn't actually killed anyone before meeting kurt (and may have even lied to kurt about this fact until after their first kill as a couple 🤫) making billy a very stressful amateur student for kurt to mentor.
which might make u ask why kurt's even mentoring billy in the first place instead of kicking it out/killing it, but (besides the romantic/platonic feelings he feels for it despite everything) that's because like... how often do you meet another trans serial killer? also kurt's a very lonely person anyway. tldr: kurt doesn't feel like he has a lot of options here when it comes to making friends.
that's all^ focusing mostly on kurt's emotions tho. billy mostly just loves kurt! there's some conflicting opinions there too, especially when kurt's an asshole to it. but because billy's just a bit too oblivious to pick up on the serious nature of a lot of this, it struggles to take even the personal drama as seriously as it should. instead, it'll mostly just get very frustrated over kurt being an asshole/distant/angry all the time ""for no reason"".
in short, to billy murder is a game, to kurt murder is a necessary and dangerous lifestyle, and they both love/hate each other over this difference.
