Not you all not ironically saying that killing J*son T*dd was homophobic. Be for real.
#yes I'm being a hater so what#I'm getting tired of a good chunk of the fandom to be honest and I'm no longer pretending I'm not#you all LOVE to make this dude the ultimate victim#every day I open this app [screams in spanish]#“I headcanon him as gay so it's homophobic to kill him” THAT'S NOT HOW IT FUCKING WORKS#I'll probably delete this later but for real. I totally get why a lot of comic fans can't stand the batfam fandom#on my knees begging you all to read other characters who actually are what you all think Jason is

I wish everyone collectively understood aventurine’s character like you…things would be so much easier! I genuinely don’t understand how people keep getting his motivations wrong??? Could it be because some of the most popular Aven fanfics were written prior to his release? That could have contributed to some of the takes we tend to see about him…thoughts?
I struggled all day to come up with a concise way to answer this and couldn't think of one, so here, have a long-winded ramble:
I don't think early fic writers have much impact in the situation with Aventurine's character now, since most people can look at when a story was posted and go "Oh, this was before we had ____ information."
I think that Aventurine's problem is being a male character in a gacha game. Gacha game characters are designed to sell. Hoyo can sell female characters very, very easily. Give her huge tits and a visible underwear strap and you're good to go. I love all my guy friends, but I'm not gonna sugarcoat it: straight men are not the hardest audience to please. Hit a particular fetish (feet, spandex, dommy mommy), and you're gucci.
Nah, we all know why Jade's trailer is Like That.™
Male characters in gacha are harder to sell because women as consumers are a little harder to predict. Does every woman want a tall, ripped hunk? Shit, no, small cute boyish models like Aventurine are selling better now? Why?! Would a bad boy be more popular than a nice guy??? It's harder to account for women's tastes, especially because they are often (a little) less visually-oriented.
Hoyo is good at what they do though, and they've figured out that male characters sell very well when they possess at least one of two specific traits:
Endearing vulnerability/helplessness
Gay ship tease
Give a character both, like Aventurine? They might as well be printing money.
That sound you hear is Hoyo's stock prices rising.
So, from the very beginning, Hoyo is incentivized to create a character that appeals to people, a character people will want to crack their wallets open for. And they achieved this, first and foremost, by giving Aventurine traits that female players (in particular, but men too), find especially appealing: emotional and physical vulnerability.
We see Aventurine's pain. We sympathize with his grief. We identify with his struggle to make meaning of his difficult life. He's our woobie, blorbo, babygirl, whatever the hell they're calling it now.
He can't hide his suffering anymore. He's on the very edge. He's a dude in distress. He's surrounded by enemies! He misses his mama! He's been betrayed! No one understands him like you do, dear player!
The ultimate feeling evoked is: He needs to be saved.
When people talk about male power fantasies, I think they forget that women can experience them too, and "Emotionally vulnerable man that only I (or my favorite character) can fix" is actually a female power fantasy.
And from there it's really easy, right: the people who shell out cash to buy warps for their harmed-husbando feel like they've saved him; the people who are into mlm ships look for the nearest hot dude to be the savior Ratio was waiting for his time lol.
Morally and intellectually, this type of deep-down-golden-hearted, emotionally-wounded male character is very easy to digest. There is nothing to dislike about this type of character or role in the story: this character is a good guy who has just gone through so many terrible situations, whose victim status makes him endearing, and whose lack of agency means that any of the questionable or downright bad things he does are always the result of someone else forcing his hand, and never something he would have chosen himself.
His motivations are always clear and consistent: get free, heal, and live happily ever after.
Insert the Wreck-It Ralph meme: "Do people assume all your problems got solved when a big strong man showed up?" But to be fair, a big strong man did kind of solve Aventurine's problem, so--
Anyway, it's simple. It's straightforward. Morally, it's pretty cut and dry, black and white: Aventurine is our hero, which means everyone dictating the course of his miserable life is evil.
Hoyo is not remotely discouraging people from literally buying into this emotional appeal.
And trust me, I get it. I'll be the first to admit that hurt-comfort is its own entire genre in fandom because it is so appealing. People eat up Aventurine's tragic backstory like candy! The idea of watching a character go through hell at the hands of bad guys just to finally find a happy end is like the definition of everyone's favorite story.
In fact... people love Aventurine's suffering so much, they have invented whole new ways for him to suffer that aren't even in the game.
This is where we get all the headcanons that Aventurine was a sex slave, every single person he meets hates him because of his race, the Stonehearts are executioners holding knives to his throat, Jade enslaved him to the IPC with a lifelong contract, his material possessions belong to the company, the IPC is forcing him to take only the most dangerous missions where he is being required by his evil jailers to continually put his life on the line... You name it and I promise you, I can find a fanfic where Aventurine suffers from it. 😂
Bro can't even sleep in on his day off; life is so hard for this man.
Being serious: if the game is telling us that Aventurine is a victim... Why not make him the perfect victim?
Why not envision an Aventurine with no freedom, who bears no responsibility for any of the horrible situations he is in or any of the dubious things he does?
It's so natural to like that version of Aventurine, so appealing to see a totally powerless underdog use his own wits and charms to claw his way up to freedom. Or, if you're the kind who really relishes angst: It's even appealing to see Aventurine lose more. To delight in fics where he loses his wealth, where the IPC punishes him for past crimes while he's powerless to stop them... (I assure you, this is many people's cup of tea and the fanfics prove it!)
Ultimately, there's nothing wrong with liking characters who are exactly this straightforward! It's completely fine to embrace characters that are intentionally written to be morally above-board, whose primary role in the story is to generate angst by being a good person who suffers, or those characters who never show unlikable traits, bad decisions, or contradictory actions.
The problem is that that's just not who the game is telling us Aventurine is.
Hoyo may be capitalizing off people who love to envision poor Aventurine still living his life as a slave... But the game also needs to tell a complicated enough story overall to appeal to people who don't care about this specific husbando--Aventurine's role in the actual game's plot has to be interesting enough for almost everyone to appreciate it, not just Aventurine's simp squad. (Don't get mad, I'm in the simp squad with you.)
So his character doesn't stop at just being a pure-hearted victim who is still waiting to be saved.
Aventurine is not that easy to label, and I think the biggest struggle in this character's fandom right now is between people who prefer the even-more-angsty, still-a-slave Aventurine versus people who want a morally grey, self-destructive character instead.
To me personally, while I greatly understand the appeal of fanon!Aventurine and the joy of a really juicy angst fic where characters lose it all, I think that missing out on the depth that canon is suggesting would be a real loss on the fandom's part.
The character motivations that Aventurine shows in the game are complicated. They cancel each other out. They're basically self-harm! He makes almost every situation he's in worse for himself--on purpose.
He is a good person, but also a person who has done unspeakable things. He does have morals, but he's not above allowing those who don't have them to use him to their advantage.
He's both the victim and the victor. He's his own worst enemy. He's a lost little boy who's been making terrible decisions for himself since he was like eight years old, and a grown ass man who is barely managing to fake his way through an existence that destiny is not letting him quit.
This kind of character is a lot harder to embrace. He's done things that most people would find appalling--like willingly joining up with the organization that let his entire race be massacred. He's invented a whole new peacock persona to frivolously flaunt riches he doesn't even care about (Poison Dart Frog Self-Defense 101). He actively plays into racist stereotypes about his people to manipulate others through their preconceived expectations. He's made a mockery of his mother's and sister's hopes and dreams by endlessly trying to throw his own life away.
He has flaws! He bet everything he had on a ploy without doing his homework to find out if the people he was risking his life for were even still around. (Maybe he already knew, and couldn't bear to admit it, even to himself.) He's intentionally off-putting and obnoxious to everyone he meets (Poison Dart Frog Self-Defense 102). He terrifies everyone who gets close to him by (seemingly) carelessly throwing himself into the jaws of death without the slightest provocation.
He knowingly allows the IPC to exploit his power and talents for profit. Did everyone forget that his role in the Strategic Investment Department is asset liquidation?! Like, his actual day-to-day job is ruining people's lives. Canonically, Aventurine kills people when his deals go bad.
His motivations change off-screen in two lines of story text. We're told in one line that his biggest reason for joining the IPC was to make money to save the Avgin, then in the next line we find out that's impossible. And... then what? What motivations does he even have now? The whole point of his character arc from 2.0-2.1 is that he was on the edge of giving in to utter despair and nihilism because he couldn't even perceive a single reason to stay alive. He has no purpose in life before Penacony, and that didn't start with the Stonehearts at all??
People keep saying Aventurine was held in the IPC by golden handcuffs, but how do you tie down someone for whom profit is meaningless? What can you offer to a man whose only desire is to bring back something already lost forever? How do you imprison someone whose only definition of freedom is, canonically, death?
Working for the Stonehearts is obviously not healthy. But that's why Aventurine was doing it--because taking dangerous missions allowed him to put himself at risk. The job that he originally pursued hoping to save his people became a direct means to self-harm, and the IPC's only real role in that was just happily profiting off the results.
The journal entries for Aventurine's quests are there deliberately to tell the player what is on his mind, and none of it has to do with escaping from his job:
Like... Work is the least of this man's problems.
At really the risk of rambling on too long now, he's also just a massive walking contradiction:
Aventurine is among the most explicitly religious characters in the game, yet he's one of the only people in the entire game that we have ever seen actively question his people's aeon.
You might be tempted to think Aventurine's risky gambles with his life as an adult are a result of giving up after finding out about the Avgin massacre... Butttt no, Hoyo makes sure to tell us that even at knee-high in the Sigonian desert, Kakavasha was already willing to risk himself in a fight to the death against monsters because even back then he found his own life to have less value than a single memento.
He's the "chosen one" who will lead his people to prosperity... except they're all dead.
He's explicitly suicidal... andddd also a pathstrider of Preservation.
He wants to die... He doesn't want to die. He wants to make it end, yet goes to staggering lengths to continually survive. (Every plan risks his life on purpose--but every plan's win condition is also to live.) He life is the chip tossed down, but his hand is trembling beneath the table. When faced with an otherwise unsurvivable situation, Aventurine literally became a winner of the Hunger Games. He beat other innocent people to death with his own chain-bound hands just to come out alive.
He knows the IPC failed the Avgin and left them to die... and he still willingly sought out a position of power in their organization. Maybe he really is after revenge... but maybe not.
He starts his journey in the IPC with a truly noble goal in mind: to help his people using his newfound wealth and power. He's a good guy who did genuinely want to save the Avgin and repay all those who helped him. But once it became clear he was too late, once it was obvious he would have no use at all for that monetary wealth and power he risked his life to get... What did he do with it? Unlike Jade, we don't see him over here donating to orphanages. (I'm not that heartless; I'm sure he does actually do a lot of good things with his money on the side, but the point is that the game does not show us that--it shows us, over and over again, Aventurine putting on a wasteful, over-indulgent persona toward wealth. We've supposed to feel how meaningless money is to him, how meaningless everything is becoming to him.)
He outright refuses to use underhanded tactics or to cheat at gambles, which is meant to show us that's he's more morally upright than his coworkers. There's an entire exchange where he says that he'll never stoop to using manipulation the way Opal does. But... he doesn't have any issue fulfilling Opal's exact agenda. He was never remotely morally conflicted about denying the Penaconians their freedom by dragging Penacony back under IPC control.
He's willing to risk his own life, which is one thing--but he's also willing to risk other people's well-being. Topaz accuses him of constantly egging their clients on into dangerous situations; we've actively seen him shove a gun into Ratio's hands and pull the trigger with no care for how Ratio would feel about that on their very first meeting... Dragging the Astral Express crew into the entire Penacony plan in the first place was exceedingly dangerous...
To me, I just think it's vital to understand his character through the lens of these contradictions because they demonstrate the extreme polarity of Aventurine's life: from rags to riches, from powerless to empowered by multiple aeons, from willing to kill to survive to killing himself... He has quite literally lived a life of "all or nothing," and while he is the victim of many terrible situations out of his control, his arc as a character involves facing the truth of himself and the future his own actions are hurtling him toward.
Frankly, the Aventurine that canon is suggesting is a little annoying. You want to grab him by the shoulders, shake him, and say "Why are you like this?!" And he won't even have an answer for you, because he doesn't even know why he's still alive.
In the end, to me, this is so, so much more interesting. I can read an endless supply of hurt-comfort fics where Aventurine escapes the evil IPC and Ratio is there to fill the void in his life with the power of love and catcakes and be a perfectly happy clam online, but I want canon to continue to serve us this incredible mess of a man who constantly takes one step forward and two steps back.
Who is fully aware of his role as a cog in the grotesque profit-wheel of cosmic capitalism and still manages to say he never changed from the rags-wearing desert rat of the Sigonian wastes.
Who over and over again flirts with nihility but, ultimately, even if he has to wrest it from the grip of the gods themselves with bloody, chain-bound hands, chooses life.
#honkai star rail#aventurine#aventurine meta#hsr meta#character analysis#listen I see you angsty fic writers who bully our favorite for maximum emotional gain#I am a ratiorine fan with the best of them#so I fully understand the appeal of the “I can fix him” fic#but like#there is so much else just waiting in the text of the game#that makes Aventurine such a rich complex and nuanced character#admitting that the IPC is the least of his issues makes him MORE interesting#not less#I promise#also like#getting so tired of reductive reads of my posts#just because I don't think Aventurine is a slave of the IPC#doesn't mean I think the IPC are good people#I'm not sure how many times I can say#'They're evil and are actively exploiting him for profit'#before people will stop saying I'm an IPC apologist lollll#I promise it is possible for Aventurine to have agency AND for the IPC to still be evil#those two statements can co-exist

Reading panels like the one on the right makes me feel like Sullivan
Warning: Manga spoilers
I’m so proud of my son! Look at him! I am basic and the zero to hero story ALWAYS gets me. Iruma going from feeling like a powerless victim to ambitious young lad is so good. It’s definitely interesting how much more demon-like he becomes as the story progresses with him gaining values more like theirs while retaining vital human values. I’m very surprised how much I liked this manga. I ended up starting the anime on a whim and now I’m hooked. Out of nowhere this dude just got into my top 10 favorite protagonists.
Boy really said to Beezlebub give me my friends rn. He knows what he wants. You have a boy who’s selfless to a fault learning to think for himself ooh. This is something that’s always difficult to write well and honestly I think the writer really nailed giving Iruma genuine greed (like not just the haha he eats a lot) without making him unlikable. Him getting Soi out of his shell was great. His newfound confidence and ambition allows him to get through to him which ultimately helps Soi be happy with his classmates.
I almost hollered at him showing pride. It’s very specifically not the toxic kind but rather the kind that keeps you honest. AKA not compromising and taking the easy road. Also Iruma is taking an action that will not only make the club stand out but him too and this doesn’t bother him at all unlike during the original event. There’s some earlier instances but I just got done binging the manga so the most recent instance is the one that’s on my mind.
I feel like if handled by a lesser writer than adding these traits to Iruma could have made him unlikable but it’s the opposite here. Like I love Iruma now more than ever. I want nothing but the best for him. He’s growing up so much. It shows how traits that are generally portrayed as almost always a negative thing can be good for someone in moderation.
This was some king shit. What a legend. He really just BTFOed the despair based ideologies in a few sentences. This kid has suffered through a lot and is going to do something about it.
He becomes one to jump to fight without hesitation when there’s danger rather than avoiding danger at all costs. Like before he would try just talking but he’s much more willing to throw hands now and I’m all for it.
Sullivan’s monologue here got me. Like this is me. This is how I feel.
Also they are his real family and there’s no buts about it. Sometimes a family is a grandpa, his butler, and a child.
#welcome to demon school iruma kun#mairimashita! iruma kun#iruma suzuki#asmodeus alice#sullivan#opera#purson soi#my crappy edit#rambles#manga

I wake up randomly in the middle of the night so here are some things I love about kevin can fuck himself
-obviously the switch between sitcom and drama pov. It's such a good way to show how Kevin's pov (sitcom) controls the narrative especially in front of other people and how other people don't really see the abuse bc "lighthearted" narrative he pushes that often makes Allison look bad (she's a bad driver, she's not funny/can't take a joke, etc)
-this kinda goes with the last one but how people who have interacted with Kevin treat Allison. Like Sam. When she goes to the diner the night she sneaks out Sam she says she needs to talk because she finally has something to say and as she's trying to vent to him, instead of just listening he tells her that all she wanted was someone to "sit her and nod and agree with you" Like dude obviously she wanted you to LISTEN not you're advice.
-This similar thing also happens with. Diane. When Allison steals the bellecheck hoodie and wears it to work Diane's first question after hearing Allison say it's her new favorite is "has Kevin seen this new look ? ...it's not fair to Kevin...you got lucky" [that she's letting herself go ].
-i also love how they make almost every male character suck at least just a little bit bc yeah it be like that sometimes. For Kevin it's obviously the verbal, emotional abuse/manipulation of not only Allison but everyone in his life, with Sam it's that he's cheating on his WIFE and (imo) very dismissive of Allison's abuse, with Neil it's thay he's mooching off of patty and manipulating people into thinking he's dumber than he is so people will do things for him and he generally just treats Allison like shit, and Chuck (Diane's husband) just a disgusting cheater, the man from the car shop could have gotten Allison assaulted bc she slapped him while she was high. Etc. The only redeemable man i think is Kevin's dad who went along with a lot of Kevin's dumbassery but was ultimately also a victim of Kevin's abuse and did try to remind Kevin to be good sorta.
- I also love how they are able to portray several types of abuse and the reasons why they can't leave/ are in the sitchuation to begun with.
-Allison can't leave kevin bc she has no money (he controls the finances) doesn't have a good relationship with living parents, Diane is in the same situation too. And then IMAGINE trying to divorce kevin?? NIGHTMARE. Not only bc as we've seen he'd never let her do that to begin with but also because if they pushed the divorce the most likely story is that, with Kevin's luck he'd find some kind of loophole that let's him stay with more than Allison.
-Dianes husband is cheating on her and she's able to leave for a few weeks. Bc once again she has no where to go, Chuck probably controls the finances and has sole ownership of their house, I assume has no family to turn to so she goes back and "forgives him" because there are simply no other viable options.
- niel has been using patty to provide basically everything for him and what she doesn't kevin pays for. AND I think she dodged a bullet with the boyfriend.
-even Jenn (sams wife) has been emotionally cheated on for pretty much the duration of their relationship and then fully cheated on for thr latter half.
-OH YEAH I almost forgot the whole reason I made this post. Throughout everything kevin in someway always wins. And dude if you have ever lived with someone like that THATS EXACTLY HOW IT FUCKING IS. no matter what happens to them or if you do or anyone else does something to subtly and inadvertently teach them a lesson they always fucking prevail. People like kevin are the luckiest goddamn people in the world and the only times they're NOT lucky is in situations that also/mostly affect you. It's the most infuriating thing to witness bc despite all your suffering, grievances, and through all the inconvenience and annoyance they cause you they still fucking win at your expense.
-ANOTHER THING a love about this shoe is that it also does a pretty good job of showing the nessecity of female companions as a woman. If you've ever taken a college level English class you've probably heard of this notion before (I'm sorry I can't remember the exact term they use for it rn ) but basically it's a good rule of thumb to have another woman you can talk to and share with. Allison is pretty much completely isolated except for Kevin's friends or Diane or Sam. But when Allison and patty become genuine friends imo she starts finding who she is again and who she could be without kevin. (I think I'm gonna edit this later bc I think ibexplained thay horribly.) And not only that, Tammy with all her expirence in the cj field, despite her jealousy of Allison and multiple confrontations she still believes Allison and completely sympathizes with her.
-one more thing Allison and patty 100% in love. They're literally gonna die old and alone together.
-my own personal headcanon that I think was hinted at in the flashback to when Allison met Kevin. She met patty first and I think patty liked Allison immediately buy Allison chose kevin.
- also one thing I have noticed is if you watch this show with women they clock immediately the subtleties of the abuse (ex. Kevin standing on Allison's pottery barn coffee table and breaking it) but if you watch with a man that kinda goes over most of their heads. Cause like yeah it's just a table. But it's not. It's a POTTERY BARN coffee table that she found on SALE and it's thr nicest thing they own and it's constantly being treated like shit and Allison is always being bullied for buying a cheap table.

"Did Light love his family?" Anon - Catch-All Answer
Since these are six asks that are all about in the same vein, I am gonna just put the responses into one post for organization's sake.
Light begs his father to kill Mello because he wants his father's death to have been good for something. Nothing pains him more than the idea of having let this happen without it even accomplishing his goal.
Light is the physical manifestation of the lost cost fallacy: he needs to keep going because he sacrificed too much to stop and allow those sacrifices to be rendered meaningless.
And Light rationalizes. It's one of his most prominent character traits: instead of acknowledging his own emotions, he tries to filter his thoughts into nothing but emotionless pragmatism.
This is consistently portrayed through the 'hidden eyes' visual key - Light is excellent at lying to himself, in his own thoughts, which is why Obata gave us this clever way of seeing when this is happening even as Light's own internal monologue doesn't reflect it.
I have an incomplete list of these instances here, especially as pertaining to his family.
Ultimately, if we disagree that Light rationalizes his feelings rather than allowing himself to fully feel them, then none of my arguments are ever going to make sense to you and vice versa.
As a short addendum, here's Ohba's own words on this chapter (HTR13 p.80): "Even if there was acting involved in Light's tearful performance, I don't believe the tears are 100% an act." (も し月の涙に演技入っていたとしても、100%演技の涙では到底ないと思います。)
Soichiro already made the eye deal, which is an absolutely horrifying sacrifice to have made. Light wanted it to be as useful as it could possibly be, in order to justify the magnitude of the price.
I hate to say it, but you're really gonna have to take this one up with Ohba himself. On Page 65 of HTR13, he literally says that he picked Sayu as a kidnapping victim because Light loves his family and wouldn't kill her. (Unlike Misa, whom he would have just killed in this scenario rather than letting the plot progress.)
The panel you are thinking of is this one, where he is panicking, but you're not putting it into perspective.
In a previous chapter (62) Ide was about to inform the whole police force that Sayu Yagami was kidnapped. Soichiro was about to agree to this.
If Light had let this happen, he could have killed Sayu without narrowing down the suspect pool at all. They already know that Kira has ties to the police. He would have removed the leverage the mafia had held against them and gotten off entirely scott-free.
He does decidedly NOT do that. It's LIGHT personally who stops Ide from giving him the perfect alibi. EVEN RYUK CALLS OUT HOW ODD THAT WAS AS A MOVE.
And sure, Light says 'oh yeah, now nobody will suspect us!!' but nobody was really suspecting them to begin with.
This is what I mean - Light never allows himself to just feel things, he always rationalizes himself to justify his actions to himself.
His father dying. Dude.
.... literally why would he? Like, even if they don't accept Kira they also pose absolutely no threat to Kira.
I've covered all of this above, but I am including the ask to say that yes, I've seen it. The core issue here is that we disagree on Light's relationship to himself - you take his internal monologue at face value, while I think there is ample evidence that Light manipulates himself most of all. (As made completely manifest in the Yotsuba-Arc where he literally mindwipes himself into an incredibly emotionally and physically painful experience just to use himself as a pawn.)

Another post! This time featuring what the antagonists for my AU might look like. While Akane and Nekomaru are locked in the rest is up to changes in the future. Kyoko and Celestia were put on a poll but the results I believe I didn't set up properly, so now I'm amending that somewhat. I drew both sets in these sketches, and when enough time has passed I'll set up another poll, properly this time on strawpoll.
As for some design explanations and lore you can check under the cut :)
Kyoko and Makoto I believe are pretty straightforward here, I gave Kyoko a neckerchief that goes pretty far down to give her that sort of upper class educated look, while Makoto I gave a smart little jacket. There's only so far you can go with the normal boy, but I also made his hair fluffier and nicer. His ahoge is there but it's normally combed back, and only springs to full life when he's in murder mode.
Kyoko joined her dad in leaving the tradition of detective work behind and entered the business world where she used her analytical mind to be the best damn stock investor in the world, while definitely something she excels at it's not something she finds particularly fulfilling.
Makoto is a wholesome, normal dude who loves writing books about wholesome stories with good endings, while his family was and still is normal, he was captured once by unscrupulous scientists wanting to explore Despair and its mysterious qualities. Makoto never gave in, but in his suffering developed an alter ego who was grimly invested in justice above all else.
Sparkling Justice is a night haunter, who exclusively goes around killing murderers and evildoers against Makoto's wishes. Choosing to right any injustice he sees in the world, allowing for happy endings for the victims, surely?
I went hard with celes and hifumi a long time ago in previous designs, so here they are with similar designs as I gave them before. Hifumi wears a suit vest, and a button-up underneath while still keeping his bag... which may or may not be more than just a simple bag...
Celestia was born a normal kid and absolutely hated that life, so when a relative of hers from Europe visited she begged them and her family to go with them and she did. She grew up exploring Europe, and would propose money-making schemes to her family abroad and would eventually be able to fund the glamorous lifestyle she always thought she deserved.
Hifumi is just a writer-focused version of himself, though with a particular love for action-romance novels and fiction rather than strictly heart-melting novels like Touko. He's a sweet boy but very weird and horny for Celestia, so he's completely useless around her. He's basically a tool... just like...
ROBO-JUSTICE is a serial killer known for their modus operandi of targeting particularly attractive and very mean women with hammers or blunt force trauma. This alter was formed after one particularly awful night of bullying resulting in Hifumi getting thrown into an abandoned industrial park and nearly dying from exposure to wires and sharp metal. Despite this though, it is almost entirely subservient to Celestia whenever it surfaces from Hifumi's mind.
Akane and Nekomaru I've already drawn before, but I think it'd be nice to give some of the backstory I've planned for them.
Akane is a well-meaning, brash, and reckless person whose freakish natural strength pairs with a luck that does everything except help her directly. Random and unpredictable, Akane desperately tries everything she can to get into extremely unpredictable and dangerous situation for her luck to grace those around her with the best outcome from her misfortune, even if it means hurting a lot of people in the process.
Nekomaru was inspired by the nonstop hard work he saw the nurses had to do when they were treating his heart condition. So inspired that he made it his solemn vow to join them whatever it took, leading him to become the ultimate nurse. He would, however, be the first of his classmates to fall to the despair of the mastermind, as his well-meaning nature drew him into a trap he could not predict.
For Rantaro and Tenko I took inspiration from M. Bison(Dictator) and Criss Angel specifically. These are the most experimental designs I have as you can tell, but I plan on working on them a lot.
Tenko's story involves her becoming the head of her little "dojo" and straight up turning it into a cult, with her as the ultimate supreme leader and the greatest fighter in the world.
Rantaro started off doing magic for her sisters, and got so good at making them happy that one of them introduced his magic act to the world through sites like youtube, causing him to become a sensation drooled over by millions of girls around the world.

Full disclosure I am not the previous anon but building off of their message: I'm saying this with all due respect. Not accusing you of abuse apologia for your opinions on a fictional character, but I honestly feel like you have a strange bar for what constitutes an abuser. I strongly disagree that abusers don't regret their actions. An abuser can 100% show regret or remorse for what they did, they can show genuine love and affection to the people they victimize and still be an abuser. Dean is obviously not a black and white villainous caricature, but very rarely in real cases are abusers black and white villainous caricatures. We tend to single out Dean when dissecting the family dynamics because his abuse was the most extreme but all of them, Sam, Dean, and Castiel, are a murder cult who groom Jack into their line of business. So I don't really see the point in the semantics game.
1. that’s a fair point! I just think there’s some distinction between being abusive and being a straight-up abuser, if not distinctive connotations for those terms. I’m also not trying to be apologetic about Dean’s behavior more so than I’m just trying to explain it and make it more understandable than a surface level viewing of him.
2. agree again! nobody is completely black and white and that’s always been a consistent theme (alongside free will and family) within the show, as well as the choice to be a better person, so it’s very confusing to me when fandom discourse is all semantical about who’s worse or who’s better. your favs are wanted by the FBI and violated the Geneva Conventions numerous times, but they still try to do the right thing where it counts.
3. actually I think dumbing down TFW’s dynamic with jack as a “murder cult who groomed him into their line of business” is playing right into the semantics game and the villainous caricature.
for one, hunting just is not a cult. please can we not turn cult into the next internet buzzword. it’s a lifestyle that almost nobody involved actively enjoys living (Gordon and the other dude from Black Rock are outliers) because it’s nothing but trauma and loss and violence constantly, but for one reason or another it’s incredibly difficult to leave, or even compromise with a somewhat normal life. even Dean views it as a death sentence, and the violence he regularly commits within it only ever added to his low self worth as he considers himself a designated “grunt.” even in the later seasons when it’s framed more casually or comedically, the violence and murder of hunting is still ultimately a bleak and begrudging necessity; grunt work for the grunts. to say it’s a “murder cult” is just wrong and, well, a little cartoonish if I’m being fr.
second, jack wasn’t ‘groomed’ into being a hunter/murderer. I swear takes like these make me question what show everyone else is watching ,I’m sorry. he’s literally a born-adult supernatural creature with a heritage and birth circumstance that’s been intertwined with the lives of all three of his chosen fathers since before they all existed and cosmically dangerous powers. there is no way he could ever be normal or have a life outside of hunting (or one that lasts, at least). and considering what we know from his first death now, he probably would’ve just died as a normal baby if Cas had removed his grace. Yes, TFW has some major dysfunctions in their parenting with Jack and it’s absolutely worth talking about, but they still make an effort to be good father figures for him, even with fathers that frankly set them up for failure in that regard. to say they’re all groomers is, to put it mildly, insane and ridiculous
#sorry if the tone got a little meaner I am just very sleep deprived and flabbergasted#holdthypeace.txt#as far as I care the only grooming done to jack was in his magic ugly terrier dog form with soap and a detachable shower#spn#jack kline#sam winchester#dean winchester#castiel#tfw2.0#jack meta#spn meta#spn analysis#tfw2.0 is simultaneously the most dysfunctional found family a fandom can handle before it gets scared#and also the dysfunctional found family that scares fandoms

The Boys thoughts 4x5:
Homelander’s conversation with Ryan: felt realistic to his character but also yikes (as always). Acknowledgement of his manipulation of Ryan +1 Acknowledgement of his own trauma +1 Equivalence of his experience as a deeply privileged white man to slavery -100
Ryan getting the PA to slap the Snyder parody: one of those delightful moments that The Boys does so well where I feel both positive and negative emotions about it. Do I think the Snyder dude deserved to be slapped by his PA? Absolutely. Do I think it’s a good thing that Ryan thinks the ultimate penance is receiving corporal punishment? No I don’t. I do like that Ryan actually let the victim do the punishment and receive the apology rather than white knighting about it. And of course I am deeply aware of how ironic it is that Homelander is helping Ryan stand up for sexual harassment victims when Homelander raped Ryan’s mom in a similar power imbalance situation.
Genuinely feel sad for Ashley that she lost her Ben Shapiro parody submissive (at least partially because I found it hilarious), but she got him back and that felt very earned.
I knew that Ashley and A-Train did more to Homelander’s apartment! Haha I can’t wait to find out what it is.
Man no one is having a great time or talking about it this episode.
Always happy to see more Esposito, love him as the ultimate traitor. Just betraying everyone left and right.
Not super fond of how they’re making it seem like Annie was wrong morally for beating up Firecracker. For falling for it? Sure. For reacting with anger? No.
Big fan of the V-ed up animals. Hysterical and very fun.
“Do you even know who Annie is anymore?” Um has more time passed that they’re showing? Because didn’t Annie decide to use the Starlight name again like two episodes ago?
I like that we got to see Hughie solve a bad situation on his own this time. He’s really coming into his own. Also, I like that we got another chance to say goodbye to his dad. Still sus that Hughie’s mom knows what V is.
Finally we got to see some of Simon Pegg’s comedic chops too. Him spinning around inside that guy had me laughing like nothing else.
Butcher taking that scientist captive? Honestly that doesn’t feel so much like a return to the dark side as just something his character would always be willing to do. Lest we forget he kidnapped Translucent, tortured him, pumped him for information, and would have killed him if Hughie didn’t get there first. I do feel like he’s relying less on other people which is a backslide from his character development but true to where his character was in the first season too.
Not a lot of sister sage the episode, glad to see she saw through firecracker’s fake inclusion attitude. I do feel like she’s growing closer and closer to dropping Homelander as an ally, something I suspected she would do from the minute they teamed up.
No Colin but I’m sure that’s gonna bite them in the ass.
What are the rules of Victoria’s headpopping? We saw her do it a little but there were many more opportunities. Does she need to charge up? Line of sight? Eye contact?
I agree that Victoria turned her daughter into a monster but only because she taught her not to value human lives and also because she turned her into some version of Parasyte: The Maxim.
Not a fan of Frenchie turning himself in. That’s not going to do anything, now they’re gonna have to break him out, and this show’s morality was never black and white enough that it could look at his actions and be like “you finally did the right thing”
Man when they all meet up with Hughie again he’s gonna have some stories to tell.
Side note: I am utterly amazed that now the secret of Compound V is out that no other country is sending like every spy in their arsenal to steal some. Considering how easily Hughie and the Boys can get it, it isn’t very difficult. Take one look at the nuclear arms race and tell me that every country in the world wouldn’t be quietly declaring all out war on Vought to get their hands on some.

i think canon izzy is an interesting character who is played very well but every day i’m SO FUCKING GLAD his arc came to its natural end and he died because all his fucked up racist fans have shown their entire arses with their behaviour. now what i REALLY hate is how almost ALL the conversation post s2 is around this one white dude - people doing insane mental gymnastics to minimise his actions and explain why he was actually right for abusing ed or why he didn’t actually do anything wrong and why ed is really the toxic violent one making izzy his victim and i am not even TOUCHING that backwards meta claiming stuff i couldn’t even dream up while high. something about jesus and aids? yeah because that makes sense you insensitive out-of-touch dickheads.
seriously if you hate the show now then prove it and shut the fuck up, move on, it clearly was never for you if you can misinterpret it this badly on purpose. the izzy you’re a fan of doesn’t fucking exist, you made him up in your heads and got mad when the canon character didn’t fit your woobified poor meow meow version. you wanted izzy to be a victim so fucking badly and he just isn’t. he is NOT. he repeatedly threatened and goaded and emotionally manipulated the main character - an openly gay indigenous brown man who expressed his emotions and wore effeminate clothing, who was actively depressed and suicidal - and he fucked around and found out as a result. he had ed released to him like his fucking property by the english after almost having the man ed loved executed in front of him and you think ed is the antagonist here? you think ed is wrong for reaching his breaking point and lashing out exactly how izzy repeatedly begs him to? he wanted blackbeard and he fucking got it.
anyway like FUCK ME there is a whole cast of excellent and interesting characters who don’t get talked about nearly as much, ESPECIALLY characters like jim and olu, roach and zheng, spanish jackie, hell ED HIMSELF. they’re sidelined by fandom racists constantly to make room for this one dude who was an out and out homophobic racist bully and dick for 90% of the show.
stop pissing your pants for 5 seconds and accept izzy (a side character there to accompany ed’s arc) was a canon antagonist with internalised issues who dealt ed (one of two main characters) a LOT of damage, but ultimately actively tried to change and embrace the crew and their ways on the revenge. he found his place in that family, that is a GOOD THING, and he died having found a peace most pirates like him don’t ever get to have. yes, ed lashed out and hurt him, and it was a direct consequence of the violence izzy THREATENED OUT OF HIM. izzy himself acknowledges his part in ed’s pain at the end, so you can too! how about that? if you can’t wrap your head around these very easy to understand plot points then just fuck off at this point y’know? literally just fuck off and find a different show because clearly the canon story of this one isn’t for you.
you cunts are fucking insufferable and have made this character one i don’t wanna touch at all, any post about him just makes me recoil because some fans just could not be normal about him.
now can we get some quality posts about literally anyone else
#done talking about him#can we make some space for any other character now please#quill to paper#personal

I need you all to stop what you’re doing and go watch The Power RIGHT FREAKING NOW. It’s on Amazon Prime and I don’t care if you have to beg, borrow, or steal someone’s password, DO IT.
It’s based on Naomi Alderman’s book and even though it’s been a while since I read it, it seems pretty close to the source material and if it strays from it, it does it in ways that only add to the story.
The premise: young girls start to develop a new organ that allows them to shoot electricity out of their hands. Naturally, the government wants to regulate this, as they do anything having to do with women. The show follows several different characters around the world and does an excellent job of portraying the different cultures and incorporating different languages naturally into the dialogue.
Highlights:
- they show a fucking live birth oh my god it’s such a powerful fucking moment I’m getting goosebumps even typing about it
- victims of sex trafficking blowing a dudes dick off with electricity
- a girl making a man shit himself in a pool when she zaps him
- a gang of rebel women electrocuting a man after he calls them “daft cows”
- a woman beating a man to death for kicking her dog
- the Riyadh protest. The strength and the power, contrasted with the moment where the mother appeals to her soldier son, and the softness and love that follows
- Moana getting high with her mom, the mayor of Seattle
- a true array of diverse women and girls. Body types, races, upbringings, cultures…..there are just SO MANY WOMEN to admire and appreciate the diversity
- two lesbians using their electricity to get each other off, I wanted to cry, it was so sweet and tender and the one girl is fat, like ACTUALLY fat, not just “curvy but with more” and she got to be sexy and not have it be a punchline
- John Leguizamo playing a dad is just…..so good. I’ve loved him since he was a drag queen in To Wong Foo, and I’m so glad he’s aged so nicely along with my tastes
- the placenta power move, god I love General Zoia
The storyline is excellent, the character development is SO GOOD, the music……I’ve actually started keeping a list in my phone of all the music to make the ultimate feminist playlist, it’s so fucking good.
Amazon did a SHIT JOB promoting this. I LOVED the book and would have been ALL OVER this show a year ago when it came out if I’d known about it. I don’t know if it’s been renewed, but PLEASE PLEASE go and watch it. I really hope it gets some attention because I desperately want it to be renewed, I know what happens because I read the book, but I want to see how they portray it on screen!! Eve just got her strongest warrior and I want to see them kick ass together!!
GO WATCH THE POWER NOW!!!

Rewriting Kidnapping of Persephone into a romantic/melodramatic story with consensual love is one of the most disgusting and disrespectful things I’ve seen.
I’ve been there too. You and I live in modern world and in modern world edgelords, goths, emos, etc have been trendy for a while. Liking them is cool. Hades, the god of the dead, is close to those things and he has a cool dog, so liking him will make you “not like other mythology fans” (we ended up being the same, what an irony). Despite that, we, idiots, wish for romantic love and project that on Hades. Who’s he with canonically? Persephone? She MUST be so happy to have him uwu 🥰
Do you not understand that if today life gives you extra kicks for being a woman, then 2000 years ago it was ultimately worse? How low must you think of victims of kidnappings, if you see actual fcking love in that? How little must you think of family bonds that you put it below yet another abusive romance? Why are willing to sacrifice a mother character in favour of a kidnapper?
It’s a love story, but not about a romantic one. Demeter, a woman in Ancient Greece, managed to stand up to the Zues, king of gods, and his older brother, and return Persephone at least half of her freedom. Yes, freedom, not a demand to be near mommy, they are that kind of parent and child who love each other. A funny gig about marriage between kidnapper and kidnapped: the latter might never see her family again, she now belongs to the groom and it’s Antient times so guess which “might” is more likely to happen.
Zeus GAVE Persephone to Hades. Like a trophy. A lot of people desire to justify Hades (the dude never even was an outcast, you just Americanised him into a high school antisocial goth. I don’t see that much people making up same stories about Poseidon, who spends most of his time in the sea — his domain. Underworld is Hades’ domain, he’s not unhappy nor judged by other gods, ok? And trust me, an immortal being wouldn’t give a sh*t about us fearing and railing death) and overlook harmful antiquities. Whether the number is small or big, the fact they exist is terrifying.
That myth was above its time and, as we can see, above out time as well. Stories like Lore Olympus and Punderworld, that claim to be feminist rewriting, belittle, demonise Demeter, the only person who truly cares about Persephone’s well-being.
A feminist rewriting demonises a woman who left everything and everyone to save a woman from a kidnapper. If you don’t understand this whole concept is dumb sh*t, I’m not gonna explain why.
Kidnapping of Persephone, much like Hunters of Arthemis, was told to soothe and encourage women, let them know that despite being lower than men, they still have each other, they still can protect each other. Kidnapping of Persephone is a love story, love between mother and daughter. Please, don’t try convincing people it needs to be rewritten, it’s perfect as it is.
And for all what’s holy, don’t demonise Demeter, the exact person who truly loved Persephone, who saved Persephone, who wished her happiness.

Idol Sanji headcanons part 2
- He has multiple personas which you can see in his songs:
Mr Prince (yes that Mr Prince): His default persona. His pop star persona who is sweet but also dangerous and sexy in a cold calculated manner
King Nasty: his inner slut. This is the persona most people are familiar with
Brooklyn Rage: This is his inner gangster. Like if he is in this mode, bitch run
- He has the foulest mouth of the Strawhats. He is rapper no surprises
- He enjoys being a bratty sub which makes Zoro’s work even harder
- He has a lot of sex toys hidden in his room
- He has a lot of cars
- He shakes his ass a lot xD
- Zoro is more than his baby daddy and lover. He is his best friend
- He is worse than Nami in regards to the love of money. Yeah he loves the cash
- He was once a stripper during his younger years and did that to hustle for money
- He deep down does not value himself
- He often masturbates to videos and photos of Zoro
- He always does the more sluttier photoshoots
- He started smoking at the age 12 as a coping mechanism
- He loves clubbing
- According to Lelouch, Sanji had the highest grades of all the trainees under their label years ago and he was the most popular trainee at the time
- He is the member of Aogiri with the most collaborations for obvious reasons
- He suffered from an eating disorder that would later rebound during his idol years
- He used to hate his looks and body and wondered why anyone would want him. Still struggles with that today
- He and his dad both released albums on the same day. He ended up outselling the old man which greatly angered Judge
- He does not use the Vinsmoke name. Instead he uses his mother’s maiden name as his surname
-He sees Luffy and Chopper as his little brothers
-All those moans and orgasms he does in his songs? Those are not fake according to him. According to him, he masturbates in the studio to create those sounds
-He is an ATL dude due to spending most of his time growing up there even though he was born in New York but moved down to ATL with Zeff with his siblings
-His mother got shot by his dad when he was 3 years old. He rapped about this, literally destroying his dad and exposing the truth about the old man and destroying his reputation and ending Judge's career. A lot of people mock Judge, saying that his son is more gangster than he is. Judge has tried to hurt Sanji but his plans always backfire
- His mother was a pop star and was in a famous girl group before launching a successful musical career. So Sanji inherited all his talent from his parents but he got his mother’s looks, kindness and charisma
-He has been a victim of domestic and sexual abuse, first at the hands of his dad and later a lot of his exes
-Jojo's villain club are huge fans of his
-In fact every single villain you could think of love this guy to the point where many consider his songs "The Ultimate Villain Playbook." since he tends to play a villainous role in his songs since the character he seems to exude is a sexy evil Homme fatale
-As far as he is concerned, he is an all round entertainer. All that matters is that everyone has fun
-He was and still is the main moneymaker and breadwinner for the family for years because Ichiji unfortunately got shot but survived whilst selling newspapers on the streets
-The biggest scandal involving Sanji was an old sex tape of his from his stripper days resurfacing online. Pudding leaked it thanks to Judge but the plan backfired as that sextape made him even more popular than ever as it helped cement Sanji's sex symbol status
-He has the video with the highest amount of views on YouTube thanks to said sex tape scandal (Might as well add this to my fanfic)
- Don’t even dare try to sabotage him and his friends. He will destroy you
- There was one part in one of his songs that more or less defines him as a person:
Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But I am no lazybones,
Motherfucker left me for dead,
Yet I still stand,
You asked me why I do this shit?
This life goes way beyond making hits,
Started off as a poor weakling,
These days I answer to the name King
- He has a tattoo on his back close to his ass and has one on his ankle
- Sanji’s character’s stance towards women and feeding others is a reflection of real life Sanji’s past. The guy has been a victim of abuse for years and also his character’s interactions with women in the show is as a result of the things women like Pudding had done to him in the past
- He loves leather especially leather catsuits and wears those a lot
- During his Aogiri days, Sanji was not Sanji without his famous round shaped glasses. So many young idols would later emulate the style for years to come. Also his signature leather catsuits have made apperances in a variety of videos ever since
-He looks just like his mother

I had a bad feeling about this
Once again, my guts are getting my suspicions right over and over.... I think we could say with all honesty, the PT fandom is devided, why? There's George Lucas, the original creator of Star Wars and there's the wannabe Derk Firloni & team fanfic version.
Lucas was a producer and current advisor in the series, not in charge of each episode check up! Plus I bet HE DIDN'T EVEN WATCHED THE CLONE WARS FULLY!!! He said his fav episode was one with a droids adventures, I mean 🫢🤭 he prefered to watch droids instead of the main character he said he loves as if these were his own children.
No wonder the trio was SO OUT OF CHARACTER!!! Not just the design, clothes but personslities!! Firloni purposely put Padmé Amidala down for sexist reasons. She was the one in charge, the mature and reasonable one, he couldn't stand a woman leading instead of a man. So he turned Padmé in a damsel in distress, workholic, bad taste in ex bfs instead of Palo, the lack of high fashion, lack of fighting skills (dude played denial from her leading taking the Naboo palace back at 14! And she fighting along jedi and troopers at 23!!) To make Anakin look like the mature one ("don't think you can read my mind", "duty comes first especially in war time *kiss*). Padmé would be the one clarifying Anakin of her duty, not him 🤣
Oh, but not just Ani and Pads were victims of his terrible takes. Obi-Wan too!!! He planned to make him have a child with Satine and somehow (he abandoned his son, son died, who the f knows??? and instead Obi went to watch someone elses children 🤣 that was the idea?? And wtf the commenter wanted to OC Obi too lol). According to a podcast mentioned on an inta comment; George had to tell him, "look you seem to know shit about my characters... Obi-Wan wouldn't do that is OC." Lol same when they wanted "Sith force ghosts", George again went on to tell them "you effing donkeys, Sith can't be force ghosts that's why they want to be inmortal!!!" 🥴🤣
What they only got right prob was that George wanted a puppet like design for the characters hah
Why they want to push Obi-Wan so bad to have relationships/flirting??? He's settled on his jedi ways and been so since TPM. They push him Siri Tachi, Ventress (wtf she's a Sith!?? 🤣 self betrayal ideals), Satine, the woman from the disney kenobi series.... but had to put that idea down, since well, out of character! A Jedi like Obi-Wan wouldn't be a fboy or into modern men dating views... He's a Jedi! Not just some jedi, but the ultimate one... yoda-windu like.
This type of characterization would fit better to characters like Ayla Secura, Quinlan Voss or Kit Fisto. Not stablished ones.
Well, there's a reason we got time travel in SW but not to prevent Anakin from falling to dark side or Padmé or Qui-Gon to die 🫠 let's use it to save filler characters that have nothing to add to the plot instead lmao
Not to forget they made Ani's head square/old 23 year old and hair brown??? like wtf 🤭
Rant end.
#Anti-Dave Filoni#George Lucas#Anti-TCW 3D#I regret ever thinking he was good I always had the feeling he was messing everything on purpose since I watched those awful episodes#Rant

Amanda Marcotte at Salon:
MILWAUKEE — As recently as 2021, the newly announced Republican candidate for vice president, Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, had harsh words for Americans who divorce, including those who did so to leave abusive marriages. Divorcees, Vance argued, are quitters who ruin their children's lives. "This is one of the great tricks that I think the sexual revolution pulled on the American populace, which is the idea that like, 'Well, OK, these marriages were fundamentally, you know, they were maybe even violent, but certainly they were unhappy. And so getting rid of them and making it easier for people to shift spouses like they change their underwear, that's going to make people happier in the long term," Vance told the audience at Pacifica Christian High School in Southern California.
The 39-year-old Vance went on to argue that kids "who grew up in my generation" ended up with "family dysfunction" because couples are no longer "doggedly determined to stick it out." The "Hillbilly Elegy" author held up his grandparents as role models, because they "were together to the end," despite "an incredibly chaotic marriage." But while Vance may sneer at women who prefer safety rather than "’til death do us part," he conveniently has no quarrel with Donald Trump, who has been divorced twice, has children with three women and a lengthy history of chronic adultery. Vance glowed with excitement at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Monday evening as delegates chanted his name. The freshman senator's months of bowing and scraping had paid off, when the thrice-married Trump, famous for bragging about sexual assault, named Vance his running mate.
[...] But perhaps that's because it's not really hypocrisy that drives the MAGA movement. It's an attachment to traditional hierarchies that allow such appalling double standards to flourish. Violence from Republicans, such as on January 6, is acceptable because it's enforcing the social order they support. But the attempted murder of Trump is beyond the pale because it's an assault on the only leader they accept as legitimate. [...] In that light, it's not hard to see what holds Vance's seemingly disparate views together. It's not a faith in marriage, but an allegiance to male domination.
While he was carefully gender-neutral in his 2021 comments, the larger context suggests Vance's grievance is with women. No-fault divorce is the result of years of feminist organizing. Women initiate 70% of divorces. And while there are certainly male victims of domestic abuse, the vast majority of people who need to escape violent marriages are women. Vance can play all the word games he likes, but when he's deriding "people" for not having good enough reasons for ending marriages, there's little doubt it's women he's mostly thinking of. It's usually women who are being chastised in these right-wing laments about divorce. Women have always been the ones expected to suffer adultery, abuse, or just plain unhappiness to hold a marriage together. Divorced men like Trump don't get rebuked, especially by the Christian right, even when it's their adulteries and abuses that caused the divorce. Ultimately, the blame is placed on the wives for not working harder to save the marriage. This sexist double standard explains why Trump's biggest base of support is divorced men, as pollster Daniel Cox demonstrated last week.
In his slightly jokey response to this report, Jonathan Last of The Bulwark wrote, "There is a particular type of mental break," which he calls "Divorced Dude Energy," which he feels explains "the way some middle-aged men went cuckoo for Trump." Many, even most divorced men are not like this, he hastens to add. Still, we've all seen these cases where "a seemingly normal guy’s marriage breaks up and suddenly he’s a different person. Angry. Resentful. Superior. Kind of agro."
[...] Divorced Dudes of the sort Last describes will not hear Vance's lament about divorce and feel insulted. They will take it in the spirit intended: As an attack on their ex-wives for leaving them. That's also why Trump likely doesn't care. He knows that when Vance criticizes divorced people, he means divorced women.
In 2021, Trump VP pick J.D. Vance decried those who divorced, because he believes that abusive marriages are better than a person choosing to flee an abusive partner.

Ok so like a legit question, if the reader was female and she ended up having kids with the turtles do you think they would be even more effed up then their parents? I feel like the turtles would encourage it as well, like @fried-milkfish and I were discussing it a while back and wanted your opinion. We were saying it also would’ve been funny if the reader being already insane as the turtles legit gives cookies and milk to there kids victims and is all like: “I know you want to escape but it will only make it worse cookies?” And the victim is just like: “Your sick…….I want three please….”
😂
DUDE... I'm kind of in love with this concept so much you have no idea.. Like, Imagine y/n's kid(s) end up being just as bad, or even worse than her own turtle partner and they're like "oh no not this again.." Especially when the child in question finally brings in their victim of choice. I can totally see y/n being so done and facepalming every time they see their kid(s) showing their yandere tendencies in front of them, and despite their attempts to get them to stop or rethink their decisions, they ultimately give up and just.. accepts that it's in the family genes I guess.
Surprisingly enough, this reminds me of a bakugou x reader fic I once read (I used to be a really big fan of him) and there were implications that both he and his mom are yanderes and that his father was a victim that slowly learned to accept his fate. And when he sees his son bring in y/n, he realizes that both he and y/n are in the same position and it's a very tense moment between the two, knowing that they're both trapped in their respective relationships with their yanderes and they're positively fucked. I can just imagine this happening to y/n and their child's darling. How they'll look at each other with this resigned and tired look and the mutual understanding of what they're going through...ugh I love that so much!
But overall, I definitely know for a fact that the turtles themselves will encourage their kid to indulge in their yandere tendencies, usually leading them to become highly delusional yanderes in turn. I kind of feel bad for the child's darling... yikes. But it's fine, they'll learn to live with it, just like dear y/n has!

*makes u read danganmon*
Alright, Anon! Just read the prologue (I’m probably not going to write x reader for this fangan, and even if I do, I’m gonna have to finish my current DRA and SDRA2 requests first)
As a heads up: I know little to nothing about Pokémon. I’m basically this guy:
youtube
So yeah, here’s my opinions so far based on just the prologue:
Kami’s design is cute. Her character feels kinda bland, but good
Zoro seems really cool! I like him so far, and his talent shows a lot of blackened potential ngl
Mari seems sweet! Ultimate Sheep herder is a new one lol
Kami: “Ah, that’s where you help sheep to their pens, right?”
Mari: “You don’t say-“
(I lowkey wish she said that)
Juno sleepy boi-
“Ultimate Wish Granter”
My honest reaction: :0
I want to give him head pats
Roxanne (I can’t be the only one who heard the song-)
Her design is really cool, and idk I just really like her. Not sure what the pipe on her back is though
(ITS A SYRINGE?!)
Okay, but she might be one of my favorites, I like her sense of humor and how she cares for Juno. I wanna say just like me fr, but there’s still the chance she might turn out to be psychotic
Lillie looks like a jellyfish, and Stella reminds me of that one girl from Yttd
Stella’s cupcake swirl hair is so goofy I love it, but some of her sprites remind me of Celeste. I have a feeling she’s gonna die in chapter 2 or be a victim in 3, and/or turn out to be psychotic
Ultimate human subject?? Reminds me of like Mikan mixed with Kanata. Hope she doesn’t die, but she gives off first victim energy or ch3 killer
Amnesia gang ✨
Cyrus seems like a cool dude. He’s kinda like Kokoro but more expressive
I already love Flidgey, and you can’t tell me they aren’t the child of Satsuki and Haruhiko
Reminds me so much of Kaito’s personality with Kokichi’s jokes
Fry’s hair is simple, but it just stands out to me. Maya got a cool design, but I’m kinda neutral about her. Don’t feel like I really know either of their characters enough for a solid opinion
Cyrillo’s design is easily one of the best, but I had no idea what his talent means
Wimessir is a lot like Akane, and the two of them kinda give mastermind energy
Idk why they’re singing and dancing, but their designs are top tier
I was thinking of a surfer dude joke, but Sam is actually the Ultimate Surfer-
Looks like we found the game’s Yasuhiro /pos
(Or twist mastermind-)
Faust is kinda like Taka mixed with Teruya. (Love both of them) His face reminds me of Murder Drones. Hope he survives cuz I really like him so far
Apollo: “I have the power of the sun and anime on my side!”
Pyromancer boi seems like the antagonist, and I’m here for it
Is he flirting with Zoro??
I like his banter with Sapphire, whose design is also amazing. She reminds me of Kirumi in terms of personality and being passionate about her talent
WHY DOES CENTURY LOOK JUST LIKE THE BLUE BADGER FROM ACE ATTOURNEY??
Undersea lamplighter makes me think he just chills underwater while ppl use his light to look around lmao
He feels like that one guy who never knows what’s going on
Monoloin??? Of all names 😭
The design is really pretty tho and I’m all for her mastermind personality
Overall: Roxanne, Faust, Apollo, and Flidgey are my current faves
