I am coping with ep. 42 in the only way I know how- laughing at Yorik. His pitch perfect henchman voice coupled with flappy teeth noises have bewitched me, I do not trust that he didn't just trick them into that whole situation AT ALL.
He should be allowed to bite someone I think. As a treat.
I love this on making the audience believe that maybe, just maybe, this time it might go differently and maybe they won't all die and maybe there will be a different ending....
(in the stage version, the cut for the interval happened as Hamlet ran at Claudius with a dagger saying "now I'll do it" in keeping with the goal of making it feel like a thriller and making you as the audience feel like "maybe at this moment Hamlet will genuinely do something different...or this moment...or this moment..." and of course that moment never comes)
David Tennant also talked about the impact of having a real human skull as Yorik and being able to genuinely look at it and think "this was genuinely once a man who was alive".
some gifs of my oc Yorik [the snow fox] and my friends oc Akira [the rabbit] thier a duo that i absolutly love the dynamic of. Akira belongs to @beemochi-art

So who else thinks Arthur is destined to die by the end of the series because of the newest episode
Edit: You guys do understand I don't mean "yeah of course Arthur is gonna die in 80 years time, he's human after all" with this, right? And I am instead talking about the fact that I think the narrative is setting it up that, for one reason or another, by the final episode, Arthur is going to die and he is going to STAY dead. I think this because his message of hope can still work on the flip side that John now has to continue learning humanity. He keeps Arthur's vision alive staying Hopeful, John. (You are growing. Just like a child.) People die all the time. And it doesn't mean you cannot still be hopeful. John learning how to be hopeful without Arthur still lets Arthur's view live on.
I WAS SO RIGHT, ARTHUR BETTER GET BACK TO LIFE SO I CAN BE RIGHT, I WANT HIM TO CLIMB OUT OF THAT WHOMB COVERED IN BLOOD AND REVIVED AND I WILL CALL IT REBIRTH
-witch’s perspective??? Interesting, I was expecting John’s pov, like in part 28
-John calling for Arthur 🥺🥺🥺
-“your children scour the skies above”??? That doesn’t sound good
-yorik you fucking traitor!
-it’s super weird not being able to hear John
-calling for Kayne but he’s not showing…
-John!!!!
-John I’m not sure opening up to her is the right move
-so this is what Harlan meant by John trying to figure out who he is this season
-answering as the King might given him some sway over her, if she’s heard of him… damn he’s pulling out the whole list of epithets
-aaaand she’s clueless. So now he’s claimed that identity for nothing
-this witch has strong opinions about gods—has she encountered something else from the lovecraft pantheon? Or maybe she’s just Christian
-oh great we’ve got our cult! “Castle caringford” or something like that?
-John’s definitely pulling out some actual memories of being the king here, some of this is lore and terminology we haven’t seen yet
-ooooh are we going to get John’s equivalent of Arthur admitting he loves him to the king?????
-I’m so glad we’re talking about Lilly again!
-oooh the witch has some motivations…maybe we can work with that
-and here we find ourselves at one of the defining questions of the show: is humanity good or evil?
-come on yorik!!!
-ooo ok the dark world is “death for the undying.” I trust yoriks exposition a lot more than amnesiac John’s from part 1, so does this mean normal people who die don’t go there?
-oh John…
-bedrock 🥺 and I love that John and Arthur both regressed and lost their humanity at the same time, when they were separated
-he said the l-word!!!!! And reusing Arthur’s words about him being entirely his own!!!!
-ARTHUR!!!!!! Arthur Arthur Arthur noooooooo!!!
-John don’t lose yourself! What the fuck is she doing to him?!!?!?! She can undo his projection????
-he’s lying. That’s his scheming voice. I know him I know his lying voice
-not quite sure what happened there but he did it!!! I think he tricked her into shattering the glass straight into her own eye? And that did her in?
-yorik bringing the comic relief, love you funky scull
-and the answer to that question from earlier: it’s both. Humanity is good and evil, John is good and evil. It’s both.
-John and yorik bonding 💚 and yorik called him the right name!!!
-the fucking hard cut from the scream to the jazz I’m crying. I wonder if Arthur saw anything while he was dead?
What an episode. I’m literally trembling. This show guys, this show. I’m glad yorik is getting a bit more to do than just exposition machine and comic relief, I didn’t expect that. The parallels to Arthur’s talk with the King in part 20?!!!? Ahhhhhh. Wow. I’m going to be chewing on this for a week
