One of the things that the drama did was reveal an incredibly important part of hyyh vmon's dynamic that has always been there but I just didn't get before.

We know that Tae looks up to Joon as an older brother figure that he can rely on, and that Joon takes this responsibility very seriously despite being so young himself. What used to confuse me before was that Tae's safety was his responsibility, but Joon never stopped him from doing those illegal activities. In fact, he would join him.

In every one of the hyyh pairings, there's a give and take.

Jihope is made of two liars and one is in the hospital room pretending to be well and the other is there pretending to be sick but among the white walls and hallucinations and fainting and pills they give each other something solid to hold on to, a tether to reality.

Yoonkook is a cycle of addictive self-destruction born from the co-dependency of someone who latches on too obsessively and needs hurt to feel alive, and someone who cries guilt but can't help but hold on to the one person he can hurt again and again but won't disappear no matter how hard he tries.

So what did Joon get from vmon? What was the take part of this give heavy dynamic? I honestly can't believe I didn't see it before.

"Do you know what I hate most about myself? I get used to things, whatever that is. I give up and don't even fight on- no... I don't even want to fight."

Joon who is only 16 but is the breadwinner of his family, who works and works and works to support all the people who rely on him, whose worth is determined by his reliability and even temper and maturity in every situation. The first to forgive, the hardest to anger, doesn't even complain when he locks away the box that contains all his potential and dreams for people who suck him dry and give nothing back.

"I see you pouring out your anger and I get vicarious pleasure. After that, I grill you not to do that and even rationalise to myself that I'm right. That's who I am. I'm a despicable coward - so who am I to console others!? How could I understand other people!?"

I forget sometimes that Tae is older than Jungkook when he represents the clinging to youth aspect so well. He's loud, he's brash and angry and kind and rough and empathetic and raw around the edges in all the ways a child is allowed to be. Joon doesn't get that, he's not allowed that. So he lives through Tae, lets him pour out all the emotion and the thoughts he doesn't let himself say.

That scene at the container after it was set on fire breaks me because it represents this so well. He was almost murdered and he stands there silently while Tae yells at Jin all the things he doesn't let himself feel enough to say. It's like Tae is talking for him in that moment, straight from his heart, and that's what he gets from it. That night only one of them watched his home go up in flames at the hands of people he holds not an ounce of power to, knowing that they expected him to burn along with it. There are three people there in the aftermath and it is only him that doesn't cry. That just smiles and thanks Jin for the warning and tells them to go to bed.

I want to scream. How did Dogeun end up being the character I felt the most physical hurt for. How is his apparent normalcy the most tragic thing in a show littered with suicide and murder and mental illness. Agh.

A Jikooker rting a Taekook fic...

Hello everyone, long time no see. You're about to see me enter into rant territory, and I sincerely apologize, but I really need to get this off my chest because I am dumbfounded by this situation. I also might piss off a few jikookers, but I don't care. This is insane.

For some of you who may not be aware, a popular Jikook content account on twitter decided to repost a taekook fanfiction from one of their friends, a prominent BTS fanfiction writer by the name of yoonminology. Now, this caused extreme outrage among Jikookers, so much so that they bullied every single one of the parties involved, claiming that the Jikook account was endorsing toxic Taekookers and that yoonminology was also in support of Jimin anti accounts.

This caused the jikook account to deactivate because of how bad the bullying had become.

So, let's sum a few things up.

From what I understand, this jikook account is a friend of yoonminology, and they were expressing their support for them because they probably spent a long time writing that fic. Writing takes FOREVER, it is an exhausting yet rewarding skill, so fic writers often feel happy when they receive love and support on their works.

2. yoonminology is a multi-ship account who writes BTS fanfictions for multiple ships -- including jikook. The BTS writing space is one that I'm involved in, and this writer is well known and beloved by the community, including very popular jikook fic writers.

3. yoonminology apparently retweeted/liked a comment from someone hyping up their newest taekook fic, and this person just so happened to be a taekooker who was involved in liking hate tweets against Jimin.

4. yoonminology has never personally expressed anti-Jimin views or anti-Jikook views. For fuck's sake, they have written MULTIPLE Jikook fanfictions.

Now, I don't know why Jikookers suddenly jumped these people as badly as they did... it literally takes two seconds of common sense to realize what had happened here. Whether or not you think a jikook account should be retweeting taekook content, that's kind of an irrelevant point when it comes to the scale of bullying these people experienced.

I used to run a pretty popular writing account on twitter way back in the day, and whenever people would leave nice comments or would express excitement for my fics, I would regularly like their posts and retweet what they said. I did not individually do a background check on each person I retweeted, because that would take forever. For all I knew, these people were just happy to see a piece of media that tapped into their interests.

I believe that's what happened here, they wrote a taekook fanfiction, which in turn invites taekookers to their page, this taekooker hyped up their tweet, they liked it... end of story. If they were a Jimin anti, I promise you that most of the HUGE jikook writing accounts that support this author would not be their friend...

Jikookers, we have a problem.

I know Jikookers often like to take the moral high ground, saying that Taekookers tend to be some of the most vile people out there. Yes, in certain situations, this can be true, but a lot of these people fail to understand that not every single Taekooker is evil, not every single person who engages in Taekook content HATES Jimin or despises Jikook.

Believe it or not, a lot of writers like to write for different BTS pairings, not because they think they're real, but because they simply like the dynamic that they can creatively play with. Trust me, I used to read vmin and yoonkook fics without ever thinking that they're a thing... Fanfiction is fiction. It's not real. Should we stone the creators of Chakho or HYYH because they dared to put BTS in an alternate universe?

Fanfic writers are NOT responsible for people who cannot distinguish between fiction and reality.

But anyways, as you can see, yoonminology is a multi-ship account, they write Jikook, Taekook, Yoonkook, Yoonmin... the whole lot. This actually became another issue among these "morally superior" Jikookers, because they claimed that because yoonminology is a multi-shipper, that they don't actually really care about nor appreciate Jimin and Jungkook's bond, and that they merely fetishize it for clicks when convenient.

I was scrolling through these tweets wondering when this crazy coke rant would end.

You would be surprised by the amount of creatives in the Bangtan community, especially that of Jikook spaces, that regularly support other creators who are not Jikookers. Because it's a healthy thing to do, actually. Some of these very famous and popular Jikook content creators actually do comms for other pairings all the time!

Actually because of this entire fanfic ordeal, you have people doing witch hunts against other people for merely interacting with taekook content/art (like stopkookminpls/koousagi). Like, do you not realize how fucking crazy that is?

May I remind you that taekook as a pairing and as a concept are not responsible for Jimin's hate -- that stems from individuals who are deluded and severely mentally ill. Taehyung and Jungkook aren't asking for the people who ship them to bully their other bandmate. Sure, a lot of Jimin's haters end up being taekookers, but that doesnt mean every single person who partakes in taekook content is an active participant in all of that!

I was friends with a taekooker for multiple years and she was lovely, she wouldn't dream of hurting Jimin and loved him just as equally. These people exist, and although it's fun to point out the deluded mannerisms of the "the cult", not every single person who likes taekook engages in such behavior.

Use common sense!

Jimin and Jungkook are not just a ship.

Another issue I think we need to seriously address in this community is the "shipification" of nearly everything that Jimin and Jungkook does. I don't mean regular "omg they're so cute together" or whatever... I'm talking about the incessant need to make every single thing that they do about their existence as a ship, rather than their general existence as people.

You can see this massive shipification happen when Taehyung went to Jeju with them for Are You Sure?!, because for whatever reason, instead of some Jikookers being content with the personal decisions that Jimin and Jungkook had made (obviously being okay with him coming), they decided to form massive hate trains against Taehyung. All because he had decided to "crash" Jimin and Jungkook's vacation. All because he decided to get in the way of their ship. Some Jikookers said that they felt like skipping the Jeju episodes just because Taehyung was there... like are you serious?

Jimin is Taehyung's friend. Jungkook is Taehyung's friend. The fact that some Jikookers talk about how "the cult" sees Jimin as a persistent threat, yet they also ironically feel threatened by Taehyung's presence.

The hypocrisy.

I think if these people want to act like they have the high ground, they need to actually behave accordingly. This type of outrage over a friend supporting a friend who did no harm is absolutely insane. The way many people in this fandom treat fan artists and writers is disgusting. These people put out works for FREE. FOR. FREE. And yet these people have the audacity to bully them into deactivating.

We saw on Suchwita and we saw on Bon voyage by JK's own admission. When I see Yoonkook fanfic on twitter I get very confused 🤭🤭😂😂 because they don't click. Not really. Taekook.

This was kinda obvious. Some people would rate this duo lower than Yoonkook but I think that's not fair. If you compare them with an unbiased eye Tkk are stronger than ynkk. First they are closer in age which helps. Meaning they're gonna be closer, too. But put them in a room together and it's not even awkward its nothingness. I'm talking silence. By JK's own admission here it just wasn't working. And we all remember the joint IG live where they ran out of things to talk about and JK would play with Bam instead. Another duo where JK needs a buffer for sure. I mean, sure tkk have been out and about but notice how its always with the Wooga squad? Never just them two?

On the plus side, they look really good. So, I'll give them that. 💚

Minimoni

Again this is so hard because Jimin has very strong duos. But yeah, I will put RM second last because RM as a person (bless him and his dimples) he's not the most entertaining and has to bounce off of someone. Them together, alone won't be boring but I'm not sure it would be that memorable or mind blowing. These are just my personal opinions guys so feel free to disagree or chime in. But yeah. I feel Minimoni is 2nd last for me.

I do find it interesting how comfortable RM is with skinship when it comes to Jimin considering he's not big on that in general (unless its Jin) He's even the one who initiates so he is quite comfortable around Jimin.

Anyway, they're a nice duo with a dynamic that gives you UWUs but they're not the most interesting in my eyes. Sorry Minimonis 🤷🏽‍♀️

Namkook

What's the most recent thing that we know about them? We know they hanged out after JK left Jennie's CK event. And we know before that JK said him and RM hadn't drunk together in years. Years. Not months. Now this dont mean they don't see eo. It just means they don't drink together often. I do find this to be significant however because both men love their liquor. But, they drink with other members just not eo so.... 😬😬 again, not making this up, its as per their own admissions

I would actually have Jinmin and Jihope as a tie but since I'm choosing I will rate Jinmin lower. But man. These 2 together are the absolute best. They are such a comedic entertaining duo. Them together alone in a room is worth every penny if we were asked to pay for any such footage 😂😂 they are funny and they bounce off of eo so well. Never a dull or awkward moment between Jin and Jimin. Never.

These two are the ones you throw to a team that's drowning. They are the ones u assign to a team for better views. I love them together fr fr. Best duo. Such a good duo. Honestly. Throw JK in there and you are set for life with the best trio ever. Go search for any of their compilations and I dare you to be bored.

Hopekook in a room together alone, I'd say that's solid entertainment right there. They're good together, they're funny. It's Jhope we're talking about. He rivals Jimin on having chemistry with the members so him and JK alone i think that's a solid video right there. No awkwardness or nothing and Bonus skinship for the Hopekookers. Good times, really.

JK is extremely comfortable with Jhope so yeah... they're a good duo. No one is getting bored.

Yoonmin

Okay y'all. We know most Yoonmin supporters are rubbish vermin but don't let that make you forget that Yoonmin are extremely entertaining together. Put these 2 in a room alone together and come on... GOLD!! The Yoonmin Suchwita episode is hands down the funniest for me. I laughed from beginning to the end. Swear to God ✋🏽 that episode and the one with the drunk TXT members are great rewatches for me ngl. Also Jimin is Suga's favourite member so Suga is super comfortable with Jimin in everything. But my favorite part of them is the bickering of course.

They can't ever seem to stop fighting which is just so freaking entertaining. Remember ITS 1 when Jhope told Jimin he was being cocky so Jimin said he was going to look for Suga so that the guy could kill his cockiness? He said going to Suga would bring him back down to earth 😂🤣 Because this is who they are, its what they do. They insult eo and call eo out. So people who get mad at Suga need to watch a good old Yoonmin bickering compilation. They've called each other ugly, fat, stupid, skinny, and a bunch of other stuff some people seem to have forgotten.

Anywaaaaaay. Yoonmin alone together is quality content and that's why Suga is high on this list.

Surely I don't need to explain why this duo is number 2 in terms of JK's most entertaining duos. Right? Like its self explanatory? I've stated many times; imo Jin is JK's favourite/closest after Jimin. Some of u disagree and say Jhope nah, its Jin. Imho.

Tom and Jerry, perfect title for them 2. Love it. Put them in a room together and you're set.

My thoughts on the series so far (below cut)

So as a person who got into bts for the lore and has been waiting for this drama since it was announced... I'm so satisfied

The actors who've done the best at mannerisms of the bts members while balancing the characters are Hosu, Cein and Jooan

The actors every one did a pretty great job.

I was getting chills and flashbacks and now I miss the boys even more

The actor playing Jeha did a great job. From the warmth to the cold. His acting was on point.

I'm a little disappointed with Dogeon's casting he disappears in the background.. though his voice does sound similar to Joon's or I'm hallucinating it ..

About the story

We get a lot more context, the whole premise was interesting but now we get layers upon layers. It's basically cutting onions and crying

I was expecting it to be the original timeline but it's a timeloop timeline (I yearn for a Jin cameo ok)

So I do wish there were a little more scenes of them having fun together

So we know that each of the boys is linked to the other like taejoon jihope and Yoonkook it's more apparent what their dynamics are

We also get to see more of other pairings.. though some of them almost feels forced like namkook or even (irl soulmate) vmin but while others like yoonjin and namseok and Namgi(!!) the portrayal is more nuanced.

Now the only thing that bothers me a bit is the lack of presence namjoon's character Dogeon had. Honestly even hwan's dad's aide had more presence. I guess its because we don't get why he would be friends with troublemaker despite living diligently. Like I'm not talking about his friendship with Joaan which makes sense. As he later reveals Jooans behaviour is cathartic.

Also it's not revealed how they all became friends (instead of staying in duos and trios)(like why would Sein who barely has the energy to get up do so much for Dogeon (even though i loved the scene)). So it does feel a bit forced for the plot despite the great chemistry

I hate their parents. Except maybe Cein's dad a little cause he's a tsundere too like his son... I hate the situations they're forces into.

Also why didn't future hwan ask past hwan to rebel against his dad..

And if its a time travel thing can't he go back to his dad's time?

The Hwan who time travelled. Does nobody recognise him?

How does Hwan in the original get to know everything. (Was it revealed or I can't remember or is it because of the numerous time travels?)

Why is the principal like this?

The scene where hwans dad is holding Damien? (I think) and the whole hyyh discourse of the sins of the father

Hwans dad not rembering and Jeha telling Hwan would become like his father

Also there choice of bts songs to use as ost could have been way better. .. like they had a whole discography ten years of songs.

They should have released it on a popular site like Netflix or something it's such an injustice to such a great drama...

There's possibility of S2 and Hybe better release it.

Yeah, I agree 100%. I also find it harder to "forgive" hypocrisy. Blind hate is just blind hate, but the backhanded compliments and the subtle putting down is infuriating sometimes. I mean, like when that voting was going on and korean jikookers were voting for Jungkook and TAEHYUNG? I expect taekookers and Jimin antis to vote for other people, they're doing what they're supposed to do -supporting the ones they like the most or whatever.

I guess the difference is that jikookers are ot7 and taekookers aren't. Taekookers are for taekook and that's it. Jikookers are for namkook, yoonkook, taekook, jikook only when they can do their "hoes mad" tweets. Jikookers don't even talk about other Jimin ships but they're all about Jungkook even when it comes to pairs dynamics, are they not?

The other thing that I personally find the most laughable is that they really think so highly of themselves and that they're so different from other shippers but the past two years have proven them wrong. Conspiracy theories, harrasing strangers online because they didn't say what they wanted to hear, hating Taehyung for the sake of it, ignoring "evidence" they might be dating other people, hating Yoongi and Taehyung for things Jungkook also got. Personally, I really like it, they chose good actors who really have a lot in common with the bts members, especially the character playing Hosu has the same facial expressions as JHope, he is very convincing. sometimes the scenes are too long and tedious, as are the dialogues, but that's probably the nature of kdramas.

No, sorry, I haven't watched it... I've never cared for HYYH era... To me, BTS being characters in their own albums and MVs is just weird? It's like fanfiction, but Hybe profits from it lmao. This is one of the things I don't get about kpop.

I've seen some gifs from the drama, but so far I don't see the similarities between the boys and the characters/actors. But, again, I've only seen a few gifs, mostly of Jikook.

I've been hearing a lot that the actors act like the members though.

And yes, long, flowery dialogue and dramatic crying are kdrama staples.

I was actually thinking - seeing the popularity of HYYH and now this drama - that the way Army interpret some of the dynamics between the members seems to be pretty influenced by HYYH? This is more conjecture than anything, since I'm not that familiar with the BU and became Army in 2019, but half of the fascination with Yoonkook, for example, seems to come from HYYH era. I keep seeing Army talk about BU Yoonkook and the lack of them in the drama, and a lot of Yoonkook moments people talk about are HYYH related.

I know Yoonkook are cute, but I was just thinking that HYYH was really influential in the fandom. But maybe I'm very off base. I don't get the BU at all... And I'm also not accusing you of mixing fantasy with reality or trying to make you feel bad about liking the drama! I just see Army talk about BU a lot.

Unrelated, but on the topic of mixing fantasy with reality, one of the most frustrating things about this fandom is the absurd amount of misinformation from Armys who think a popular account's shitpost or take on a members' words from 10 years ago is the absolute truth. Like, I get that Jungkook had a crush on RM - whether in a hero worship or romantic sense - but it's so ridiculous the way people talk about Namkook! Army reduce most BTS dynamics to stereotypes (with the exception of Jikook who are just ignored lmao) and greatly overhype some popular ships like Sope (imo). I read Jikook fanfiction so I see this all the time. The members and their dynamics are so often reduced to stereotypes and jokes that half the shit on twitter is already fanfiction. We'll never truly know the members, but half of this fandom doesn't even pay attention to actual content.
