Cosa fare e cosa non fare dopo una lezione di yoga?
Oggi uscendo dal centro yoga dove insegno dopo due ore di pratica intensa ma estremamente piacevoli anche e soprattutto per aver constatato i notevoli progressi e visibili cambiamenti negli allievi che seguo di settimana in settimana, avrei voluto volentieri farmi una bella passeggiata invece di rinchiudermi in macchina e guidare km prima di arrivare ad una “casa base” per un accettabile orario di cena! E da questo desiderio spontaneo, è nata la necessità di scrivere un post in cui elencare brevemente tutto ciò che sarebbe meglio fare e non fare dopo una bella lezione di yoga per non perdere nel giro di pochi minuti tutti i benefici effetti della pratica!
Uscendo dalla classe di yoga, dopo essersi ben coperti (ovviamente e soprattutto in inverno) e preparati, la cosa migliore sarebbe appunto farsi una bella passeggiata a passo d’uomo senza correre, lasciando che il corpo continui in un certo senso ad “assaporare” le energie smosse durante la pratica. L’ideale se possibile sarebbe di recarsi a piedi presso il nostro centro yoga così d’avere tempo sia all’andata che al ritorno di preparare e far “decantare” il corpo. Anche in bici va bene, purché il tutto sia fatto a ritmo piacevole e distensivo. Un’altra cosa piacevole da fare può essere sorseggiare dopo circa 20 minuti dalla fine della classe yoga una bella tisana non troppo calda. Personalmente ho sempre con me il mio thermos (è ormai diventato come una coperta di Linus) e anche se è li affianco al mio tappetino durante le classi in realtà è solo sulla strada del rientro a casa che comincio ad aprirlo per sorseggiarmi la mia bevanda ed ho notato che tutto ciò è come se prolungasse gli effetti calmanti di alcune asana che in genere si praticano proprio a fine lezione :)
Una cosa invece da evitare assolutamente sopratutto se abbiamo fatto una pratica che è andata a lavorare principalmente sull’allungamento e lo scioglimento della colonna vertebrale è quella di sollevare pesi. Quindi evitiamo assolutamente spese abbondanti o di caricarci casse d’acqua o qualsiasi altro tipo di peso dopo una lezione del genere. Anche il “caos” andrebbe evitato. Non che dobbiamo rinchiuderci in un silenzio e in un fare “monacale”, ma evitare inutili frastuoni o posti affollati e trafficati di sicuro aiuterà la nostra mente a restare ancora per qualche istante “pulita” e centrata. Evitiamo anche - sempre se possibile - di precipitarci subito a controllare what’s up e quant’altro e approfittiamo del temporaneo “distacco dal mondo” che la nostra lezione di yoga può offrirci per quanto più tempo possibile!
Cosi come è bene non mangiare prima della pratica è bene non mangiare anche subito dopo. Aspettiamo minimo un’oretta prima di sederci a tavola.
E poi continuiamo ad ascoltare il nostro corpo: questi che ho elencato qui di sopra, sono solo alcuni dei consigli che potrei dare, ma sono sicura che se ognuno di noi facesse più attenzione a ciò che il proprio corpo gli comunica a fine pratica scoprirebbe da sè cos’è più giusto fare per “allungare” i piacevoli effetti fisici, mentali e spirituali di una lezione di yoga :)
Non mi resta dunque che augurare buona pratica e post-pratica a tutti! Namasté!
