Yippie-kie-freaking-yay, they are so back. To be a good sport, he downs both their glasses with little more than a grunt (werewolf tolerance isn't vampire level, but it's comparable) and snatches the keys from Ric's back pocket on their way out. Like hell they'd take the camaro off-roading, but Damon insists on driving and Ric's more practical suv suits just fine. Even mentions the emergency bottle he left in the trunk to boost moral - they can crack it when this idea turns out to be the genius Damon already knows it is. The door to the estate creaks open with an easy push like it always does, spectacularly creepy at this time of night. He braces for a second, expecting a surge of well, something, but maybe wolves have been less offensive to the Bennett line. "Alright." Still in one piece, it's Ric's chance to freak if he needs. "Got the tingles in a silly place?"

that little burst of optimism warms him more than it should. it might not be a breeze, or as simple as he's making it sound, but it means something that someone else recognizes the progress for what it is. ric shakes his head anyway, ducks his face back toward his drink to pretty poorly conceal a smile. then damon has to go and ruin it with the bad horror movie suggestion. "damon." just his name, slow and meaningful, packing all his disapproval, delight, skepticism in there at once. "that feels like a terrible idea. worst they can actually say is you're an abomination of a false-witch, then kill me from beyond." but he isn't sure that's totally how they'd operate in this scenario, and they're a little bit desperate for a plan before mama mikaelson blows everyone up, and also damon's giving him that look that makes the smarter, wiser area of his brain short circuit, just for a second. he hates himself a little more every day. "what i want to do is have about ten more drinks and black out, but i guess that's not much of an option." his knee nudges damon back like it has a mind of its own, so he busies himself with shrugging his jacket back on to save face. "lead the way. but if i have to save your ass from any dead witches tonight because you couldn't keep your mouth shut..." he doesn't finish the thought, both because he's fresh out of empty threats and because he's enjoying the extra dramatic height difference that always comes with standing up first while damon's still seated.
