{♚}—; Upon the light filling the room, the amount of pink paint all around the place became clear. “Y’eesh, looks like someone was busy findin’ the best hiding spot in here.” His eyes followed the trails to see where they might be going and one of them seemed to head into the cabinet up high where he was about to look a bit ago. “You bet kiddo, that’s a lot of pink!” With that he began to point out to Craig where he believed the other twin was. “So what do’ya think Craig, you think they’re hiding up there?” He smiled, since he thought so but wanted to get Craig involved so he asked what he thought first as he hovered up ready to open the cabinet and hopefully unveil the missing hatchling. Cyrus on the other hand knew that he would be needed especially if this went on longer since the Halloween festivities were waiting for all the little ones to join in but the game was still holding them all back and it became clear now. “Don’t worry, I can probably coax them out of hiding if Spyro happens to be incorrect about where they are. In which case I will do that for everyone Argus.” 

Seemed like Nestor was in a similar boat, of the little ones practically pleading with their eyes to get the final hatchling to come out. “Don’t worry, Spyro may be right and they’re just behind the door.” He reassured many of them, hoping that this was the case as Spyro waited a moment for Craig’s answer and once that happened he pulled it open at last.

When Spyro flung the cabinet open for Craig and uncovered Yang, he was facing away from them but had his neck twisted at just the right angle to show off the deer in headlights look in his eyes.

Across his stiffened body, there were several patches where enough paint had rubbed off to let his true green peek through, some areas less intact than others. Thankfully, the disguise wasn’t tarnished enough to indicate to Craig that the dragon before him was an impostor - so when he declared victory, he did so by announcing “It’s Yin!”

The real Yin winced, maybe even taking his defeat worse than her brother had since she was partially responsible for his discovery.

Then again, any sort of reaction would be more pronounced than Yang’s; he was still frozen in shock or embarrassment, and the crown of last man standing wasn’t much to boast about with his primary objective compromised.

One facial muscle or another twitched, lacking the same willpower their neighbouring eyelids had to stay still in defiance of any compulsion Yang had to assess the damage. He was paranoid that letting his eyeballs rotate even a smidge would raise his captors’ suspicions about his identity.

With Cyrus and Nestor both on board getting the game wrapped up ASAP, Argus eyed the door all the sound was coming from and beckoned for the other dragons to follow him.

“Once we have located them,” he elaborated to the Magic Crafter, “could you try cast something that would reinforce and protect Yin and Yang’s...“makeup”? I suspect that someone will do whatever he can to stall us so he has the opportunity to reapply his paint.”

you guys oppositeshipping as either platonic or romantic slaps so hard. Kai melts icy outer armor and Zane cools a fiery temper guys the symbolism creates such a good dynamic that can't be attributed to attraction alone

possibly only to be rivaled by the Dareth/Ronin the Two Men Who Lack Long-Term Career Plans And Also They're A Bit The Worst Sometimes ship which is just hilarious and strangely fitting which i'm told is called Scruff?? immaculate

both are calculated, both are impulsive. Kai can plan and strategize in the throes of battle, while Zane's only moves in a pinch are Bullshit and Sacrifice. Zane can be overly curious, but he's on guard for manipulators and moles- Kai wants to believe people who are kind to him and it can blind him to other, more practical ulterior motives

at first glimpse, Zane seems hard to get along with and Kai extroverted, but the former's sincerity is clear while the latter obfuscates with sarcasm. even further down, we see Zane repress his trauma and feelings while Kai has outbursts of rage. they contain contradictions within contradictions of their elements

Kai uses his powers to smith, to create new tools and weapons. we hadn't seen the destruction Zane was capable of until the Never Realm, where permanent winters the world and nearly destroys a civilization (yes he's being manipulated and has the forbidden scroll in his hand I know). Skylor uses Kai's fire to forge a friendship and connect with him. Zane uses his heart and elemental power to destroy (mostly) the overlord.

typically, fire is the element of destruction, but I want you instead think of Kai and summer. gatherings and parties and adventures. warm waters and flourishing crops. everyone may be irritable, sweaty, and some sunburned, but it is built on the freedom to choose.

during winter people are together and inside out of necessity. it pulls people closer out of practicality and proximity. among the sparse bushes and trees, the wind chill and ice, are the adversity through which we persevere through. bonded together through change, through experience.

these connections are both one in the same and inherently different. their beginnings may be opposite, but the ending is often the same.

Maybe how Geten envisioned his battle with Dabi would end up.

Geten telling Dabi he has the ability to carry him and save the day, just like the heroes on TV. He imagines capturing Dabi in the same way as Overhaul.

Every time I see a story about Hades and Persephone now, my mind starts clawing at the walls and screaming this is not what the story is supposed to be. This is not The Brand. The themeing is not there.

Demeter is not the bad guy, Hades is not the bad guy. If anything, Persephone is the bad guy. But she's not guilty, she's fated. It's a dance of themeing.

If Demeter is the bad guy, you take away the joy of summer and gratitude of spring. If Hades is the bad guy, you destroy the inevitability and softness of death. But Persephone.

The earth does not care if you die. The winter does not care if you slip on ice. The stone does not care if your ankle cracks. The world of circumstance is unkind and unapologetic. It's neither worse than Hades' death nor different; but it's to be feared. It's sudden and violent. It's a terror. The Dread Persephone.

The story of Persephone should be about self-discovery, not victimhood or tragic accidents.

FIB-Au x Cursed AU Crossover! 

Fun little idea I had of what would happen if my “Fire, Ice and Bone” AU twins would meet their counterparts from @winterpower98​ ‘s “Cursed AU”! :3

As I kind of explained in THIS post, Jin and Yin kind of had a falling out in my AU. While Yin joined LBD’s side, Jin joined MK’s side, where he got promptly picked up by Mei and became friends with her. Now Yin thinks his brother replaced him. 

Meanwhile, Cursed AU Jin and Yin alredy are done and over with this sort of thing xD Having sorted out all possible “You stole my brother” acusations in “Sibling Fight”.

Sooo, needles to say, FIB!Yin wouldn’t be to happy to see that even in other universes Jin “replaced” him with the dragon girl. Meanwhile Cursed!Yin would try using his own experience with that to reasure FIB!Jin.

Other funny random detail:

In my AU, Jin and Yin are just barely halfe a head taller than Mei and Mk. Meaning by implication, this would also make them roughly a head shorter than their Cursed AU counterparts! Which I just find kind of hilarious? It gives them “little siblings” vibes if put next to the Cursed Au twins! xD
