Of course post-canon odysseus and penelope love each other (they are a little bit insane about the other. Neither is allowed to leave the others side for months after odysseus gets back. They cycle between sobbing on one and another and aggressively making out. ) but it's true that they have both changed. It's been twenty hard years after all. So

Odypen courting each other again just for the fun of it. Odypen deciding to act like teenagers again and make elaborate plans pretending to sneak into the others room.

Odysseus sending penelopes 90 year old dad a letter challenging him to a race for penelopes hand in marriage. (This does not go over well but penelope though it was hilarious)

Odysseus begging Athena to help him win penelopes heart/hand again. (Athena: What no why you're already married I don't understand you ) (she helps anyways)

Penelope weaving all of odysseus's clothes. Penelope hauling out every tapestry she made of telemachus's childhood (she made one for every year. To gift odysseus on his birthday when he returned.)

Odypen leaving telemachus incharge while they go off on dates (to harssass, cause problems, and badger other people into giving them things). It should be fine Athena has been sticking close to the house lately. And it's only for an afternoon anyways (at first. Headcanon that penelope came with odysseus when he had to go plant the oar and call it a windmill quest.)

Sooo,, this is Not rlly a canon thing,, but could be canon if Allure hypothetically ever does propose to shamura (which they were informed not to and now they know why. Shamura is the only bishop who isn't married to Allure ,, its more of just a regular couple thing ! So i lean more towards not canonical event for the sake of this 🙇)

In silk cradle (~7,000 years ago) , it was infested all with the spider species at the time,, and for marriage rituals , one or the other spider would sacrifice themself to have their head eaten for the sake of nutrients rather than it being out of romance

Now if we apply a fairly conservative shamura still applying some of their old faith from silk cradle and in the cult; if allure ever proposed to shamura with a ring and wanted to get married, they'd look at allure like theyre insane for it. cuz thats Basically asking shamura on wanting/sacrificing your head to them 😭 so with the conflicted look shamura gives allure theyre like ":'-D ?? Is my marriage proposal not good?" And shamura would think allure is messing with them and immediately initiates an attack on them thus easily taking their detachable head and eating it LMAOAOAODWJD

But yeah no shamuras siblings genuinely told allure to refrain from marrying them and they were all like. NO. Allure thought they all were jealous but sERIOUSLY. THE ONLY PART OF THEIR BODY ALLURE COULDNT GENERATE IS THEIR HEAD.... THEY WERE DOING THEM A BIG FAVOR HERE-

kind of unfortunate that so many fantasy epics are also war novels because i will be honest i just do not like war novels that much... the grand clashing of forces is compelling obviously but it requires characters to talk about so much practical battle strategy and while i can get my brain to comprehend all these fantasy maps and kingdoms and borders and battalions and front lines and army movements it takes up. so much space in the book. feels like i'm fighting a war of my own trying to get through it sometimes

Like look I love them being in love and crazy devoted to each other as much as the next person but really I just wanted it to end like "It's okay, they have time to grow and just be normal and just be themselves now. They don't have to rush anything, they can take their time." And they delivered, they so delivered because now they have seven years to just grow and be together and be happy and I love it. Let them have it they deserve it. Sure, I would have loved the angst if Callum died but I love this just as much. Like yeah things are great right now but that doesn't mean we have to rush and make them better, we can just bask in this peace that we have for now, we can just exist and see what happens. Perfect ending, the only ending I wanted really. And "You know what I love about you? Everything." It was so good, it was a great ending for them because time was something these two rarely had and now they've seven years of time and that's just great

Okay so I have been obsessed with EPIC for a while now, and I was scrolling recently and found this little snippet floating around. Looking at the person made me think of Vex'ahlia from Critical Role, which immediately made me think of a Critical Role/Epic AU.

But instead of the normal dynamic of Odysseus and Penelope my brain immediately defaulted to Percy being the one waiting at home and making this challenge to the suitors to string Vex's old bow. And like... I don't argue with my brain when it comes to creativity. Then it started to snowball. I do not need to write an AU right now, but it won't leave my head.
