Astro Notes : Short N Sweet - The power lilith holds <3
Tumblr media
Lilith in the 1st - Very strong personalities. Gifted in using the eyes to seduce others. Magnetic. Can fight the demons off of you so please be weary of getting to close if you don't want them to see what hides beneath the surface. There angelic, believe it or not. They're not here to see the world as you see it, they have a taboo personality, yes, but its also because they must learn how to live for themselves and not for anyone else.
Lilith in the 2nd - Cash cow. Can basically get any man to give them what they want. They have to be comfortable in getting under peoples skin, because they can trigger people with how they talk. Insensitive? Not exactly. Just doesn't budge and cares to be 'nice'.
Lilith in the 3rd - Creative freaks. Can use the mind in a million ways, but they still seek out one thing that works for them as they are very passionate people and whatever keeps their attention the most they'll go at it forever. They are use to the attention from people since primary school. So they like to hide a lot. They have a weird mind and they don't care to share it with too many people. If they ever considered writing, they could make some pretty interesting stuff. Sibling rivalries are a thing here.
Lilith in the 4th - Tumulous relationships with family & friends. It's because they're the outcast of the group. I mean, they know a lot and they can't stand for nothing but the truth. But sometimes the truth kills, even when they don't mean for it to be. Can be a hard knock life but they make it worth something. They're no angel, just the universe in the flesh. <3
Lilith in the 5th - Captivating presence. Lovely auras, and amazing bodies. Could be good at dancing. Could be a lil promiscuous. Could be a little dangerous. You never know. Secretive/private about their affairs.. But the stories they have I promise you its like reading a novel. Naturally sensual & can't get enough of them, even if you tried ;)
Lilith in the 6th - Goes hard for groups that aren't seen enough. Can have jealous coworkers or people who want to annoy them and get them out of character. Could also have sensual experiences with co workers. Demands compensation. Could be extremely well liked or hated no in between.
Lilith in the 7th - Spicy individuals. People love to hate them. Could have bisexual allegations from time to time. Most people like to be around them but despise them after a while. Sweet as a pie though, most people allow the rumors to get to them but usually these people are naturally sweet and empathetic. Popular loners.
Lilith in the 8th - Strong personalities. Capable of seeing beyond the veil. Has issues with society due to their daring nature but they do come out ready and swinging. Hypnotic presence. Can heal as much as they can poison, so be careful wit em ;)
Lilith in the 9th - Very beautiful spirits who are the epitome of being carefree. The universe takes them wherever their hearts want to go, and the journey is always something that last a life time. Being connected to someone with this placement could give you the feelings of something amazing. Always hold their hand tight because once their gone its over.
Lilith in the 10th - Dreamy auras. Have a knack for the public and the audience can feel their raw energy. Have haters from all area codes, this just makes them more confident. They know how to appease society well, and they can take on roles that others are too afraid to. This is great placement for lilith to be in.
Lilith in the 11th - Could had to fight to keep their self esteem in check. Due to being outcasted alot, they could of been the scapegoat for a lot of reasons that didn't pertain to them much. With time, they learn to accept that their energy isn't for anyone, and that their value is more than what you can define it. Helpful sweethearts who just wants to be around community that gets them.
Lilith in the 12th - The dream world is a nightmare. My apologies to y'all cause I'm suppose to start it off a little sweet. But this is placement of a witch/warlock. You guys have many gifts that go past the ordinary. And you more than likely come up with some ish down the line. There is a time where you will undergo a lot of spiritual refinement to keep your head going. Don't be afraid of what shows up, it might teach you something!

I am going to say something for my Elriels that I hope can be absorbed with grace and compassion. I realize not everyone may agree, and I do not speak for all survivors. But I am speaking from the perspective of someone who has received over 19 years of intensive therapy (yes, I started at 14. Feel free to calculate my age) as well as EMDR to treat complex PTSD. I hope you can hear this and take it to heart, and understand that *both sides* are contributing to some of us considering whether or not we should permanently leave this fandom to protect ourselves. If your interest is protecting survivors, I hope you will hear this with nothing but love and care in my heart and wanting this to be a better place for everyone and feel open to what I would like to say.
If you are taking this opportunity to re-blog and make a public spectacle of how badly the other side is behaving- you are not protecting survivors. Limiting exposure is a critical tool for those with PTSD. Stepping away from areas where we cannot prevent exposure to traumatic or triggering environments does not make us weak. It makes us strong. It makes us capable of making hard decisions and reflecting inward, and walking away from things that cause harm even when our inner child wants to feel drawn towards it and resolve it. These are not easy decisions. Right now, I want to stay away because of how everyone is acting, not just those on certain sides. The exposure to triggers is frankly beyond anything I could have ever imagined happening joining this fandom.
The spectacle is harmful for those that you are trying to protect. I beg you to consider this in the coming days as you decide what type of contributions you want to make to the Elriel community. At this point, I have so many people blocked, but it doesn't matter. I am still being exposed to how traumatizing this fandom is because the Elriel community will not stop. I promise you, starving harassers of the attention they so desperately want is the only thing that will have any meaningful impact to improve the environment. You are never going to understand each other or see things the same way. Please consider if re-blogging harmful takes just to prove a point is an act of protection, or an act of judgement and escalation.
If you are taking this opportunity to engage in a war of morality, and decide that the *other side* has behaved badly enough that they finally *deserve* to be harassed or insulted, you are not protecting survivors. I know it sucks. I know it's unfair. I know the high road is comprised of more steps. But the reality is, there are people with completely different moral codes opposing each other here. You will never be able to show another person why their deeply held beliefs are wrong. Some felt that protecting DV victims was a violation of their personal rights. We all understand how wrong that is. But instead of trying to turn this into a battle of whose behavior is worse, and who deserves what treatment, the best way to protect survivors is to say: I'm so sorry this is happening. I know how triggering this must be. Let me focus on making this a safe space for you. Invoking verbal abuse or escalating an aggressive conflict in our name does not help us. It only makes this space more unsafe. The simple act of, "I said this to you and I treated you badly because you acted badly first" is in of itself triggering behavior. If you look for reasons to treat someone you don't like or respect poorly, you will surely find them.
Please know that my only goal here is safety for all. It can be difficult to make everyone feel comfortable. I have long since realized that fandom life may not be for me, and have repeatedly left group chats, tiktok, and Instagram because I personally hate watching women rip each other to shreds every day when these books were a place of respite for me. So maybe I'm in the wrong. Maybe I don't *get* fandom culture, and if that's the case, I can gracefully step away or set new boundaries with myself about what I contribute and how involved I am regularly. No one is required to change their behavior because of me, or because of anyone. We are only in charge of ourselves. But this felt worth saying.
I truly hope that the goal of fostering a community that feels good to be a part of, even if it comes at the sacrifice of "fighting back," because no one is actually winning at anything here, is something that feels worthy of acknowledgment. I hope everyone can consider before typing, re-blogging, screenshotting, fighting, ect., pausing, reflecting and asking- does my behavior hurt or harm survivors? Am I making this space safer or more harmful for them? Is this a space I'd want to look at and make art for every day if I was trying to avoid landmines of watching how people treat each other? *If* protecting survivors and making things safer is your goal of course. That will not be the priority for everyone. But then please be honest with yourself about what you are trying to accomplish.
I always considered the Elriel space safe and joyful and a place largely not centered around bashing and negativity (though of course there are always exceptions, and I think venting is perfectly natural so long as it's not done with malicious intent to hurt others) but this situation made me realize that both sides are standing with loaded guns, just waiting for the opportunity for the other side to do something bad enough to trigger a war.
We are the collateral damage.
I hope that maybe this can move the Elriel community back in the direction of focusing on kindness, positivity, and excitement. If that is not the case, I hear you. Perhaps I'm the one that doesn't fit, and that's okay. But it felt worth trying.

Let me ask for a crossover fic Nikke and GFL
Squad counters and Anti-Rain getting into a cat fight over a commander S/O
Tumblr media
(GFL/GoV: NIKKE) Anti-Rain and Squad Counters fighting over their Commanders
OH YES, CROSSOVER BANTER, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Also, the Commander won't be S/O since that'd be kinda hard to implement in this kind of scenario. Unless it was a harem, which I absolutely refuse. We have the serious ones, the catty ones, and the glue eaters for this team matchup.
Tumblr media
Squad Counters entered the room, noticing the squad from Griffin looking far more serious than them.
M4A1 examined the newcomers and nodded.
(M4A1) "So, you're the T-Dolls joining us for this operation?"
(Anis) "The hell is a T-Doll? We're Nikkes."
(ST AR-15) "Hm. It doesn't really matter in the end. Just don't fall behind."
On the other hand, SOPMOD excitedly jumped in front of her two sisters-in-arms, extending her hands.
(M4 SOPMOD II) "New friends! Let's shake hands!~"
Rapi leaned back in slight surprise, unused to SOPMOD's straightforwardness.
Neon however extended her own hand and shook SOPMOD's excitedly.
(Neon) "Hi, I'm Neon! Do you like big guns?"
(M4 SOPMOD II) "What kind of question is that, of course I do!"
(Rapi) ahem. "Rapi, Leader of Squad Counters. This is Anis and Neon."
Anis simply shrugged while Neon waved a friendly hand towards the team.
M4A1 crossed her arms.
(M4A1) "M4A1, leader of the Anti-Rain Team. ST AR-15, and M4 SOPMOD II."
(Anis) "Wow, you guys just name yourselves after the guns? Talk about lifeless-"
STAR frowned at Anis.
(ST AR-15) "They're code names. And who are you calling lifeless?"
(Anis) "I don't know, you were just calling us Dolls a second ago-"
A loud throat clearing from the center of the room caught both team's attention, everyone directing their sights towards the two humans in the room.
(Griffin Commander) "We're being sent to take care of some Sangvis Dolls that are reportedly running around the area with some unidentified at their side. Which, I presume to be yours."
(Counters Commander) "Yeah, the fact that the Raptures haven't taken over your forces or anyone else's is a miracle, honestly..."
(Rapi) "Commander-"
Both of the humans turned to Rapi, before looking at each other in slight confusion.
(Griffin Commander) "Oh, right."
(Counters Commander) ahem "Yes, Rapi?"
Rapi seemed slightly flustered before that expression vanished.
(Rapi) "If we take care of the Raptures, is it possible for us to return home?"
(Counters Commander) "That's the hope, but I have no idea if anything we did was the cause of it...Kind of reminds me of those devil hunters-"
(M4 SOPMOD II) "What, you guys hunted devils?!"
(Neon) "Yeah, we had some super cool people help us out too! One of them could turn into a chainsaw and-"
(M4 SOPMOD II) "WHAAAAAT?! Commander, I wanna go to their place-"
(Griffin Commander) "Absolutely not."
(Anis) "Psh yeah, you softies wouldn't last a day in there."
(Rapi) "Anis."
(ST AR-15) "That is quite the boast, coming from someone who'd get eviscerated by the most basic doll in our world due to lack of armor."
(Anis) "Hey, I'm just stating the obvious. Our commander could beat the crap outta yours."
(M4A1) "Do NOT talk about our Commander that way."
(Griffin Commander) "M4, STAR. Knock it off, both of you."
(Counters Commander) "You too, Anis. We all need to work together."
(Neon) "Well, I mean, Nikkes do sound cooler than T-Doll."
(M4 SOPMOD II) "Nuh uh! We sound cooler!"
Both commanders sighed loudly as the girls of their squad started arguing.
(Griffins Commander) "Sorry, my teams are not usually like this."
(Counters Commander) "I...wish I could say the same. Well, except for Rapi."
(Neon) "OUR COMMANDER CAN SUPLEX YOURS!"
(M4 SOPMOD II) "OH YEAH? PROVE IT!"
Both Neon and SOPMOD turned to the Commander expectantly.
(Griffin Commander) "...Well, I'm glad to see in whatever world, our squads will always be the same it seems."
(Counters Commander) "Is...that a good thing?"
(ST AR-15) "Our Commander has led several echelons to victory against improbable odds."
(Anis) "Our Commander is the improbable odds!"
M4A1 and Rapi looked at their commanders before glaring at each other silently.
(Griffin Commander) "I'm so glad M16 and RO aren't here today..."
(Counters Commander) "They would've made it worse, I assume?"
(Griffin Commander) "I'd say you'd have no idea, but I think you're the only one who could..."
Both Commanders stared at each other with a mixture of respect, and pity.
Only they knew the struggles of their daily lives, trying to herd an entire army of robotic cats around.

Some of y'all never learned the difference between queerbaiting and queercoding and it really fuckin shows. And even more than that some of y'all will sit there and call something queerbait just because they don't kisskiss.
Characters should not and do not have to actually kiss and/or fuck nasty on screen for a queer and/or romantic reading of their relationship to be valid. Not the least of which reason is that not every relationship such as that involves kissing or sex, but more importantly:
Relationships are more than that. You know this. I know this. We wouldn't be shipping people otherwise, or be so invested in the relationships between these characters we love.
Why is a movie where the characters of the same gender love and care deeply for each other and complete each other's worlds, and yet never kiss or fuck, bait, while the one where the characters are underdeveloped and have no real reason to be together or even like each other than because the plot says so but they kiss and fuck like rabbits NOT bait?
Queerness deserves nuance, it deserves different shit, it deserves messy and toxic shit, it deserves to be scrutinized and analyzed, rather than simply consumed and sanitized.
Would the former film have a kiss/sex scene if the world it existed in didn't force it to be a product in a violently heteronormative society? More than likely. But we can't say for sure.
Queer media has survived since forever thanks to queercoding, which was used to let representation of queerness and queer culture exist AT ALL under homophobic corporations. Queer PEOPLE have survived their actively hostile homes and communities thanks to codes and signals that identified each other and where was and wasn't safe.
That legacy won't go away, even as we gain more acceptance in society. Even if the day comes in my lifetime where queer people all over the world are free to live out our lives in peace and comfort without our very lives and bodies being targets for violence and repression, that tradition STILL wouldn't go away. Because it's INTERESTING and FUN and DYNAMIC and GOOD CHARACTER WRITING.
Not every deeply loving and caring relationship is romantic, just as not every buddy-buddy relationship is platonic. There's so much grey area, so much to look through, to analyze with different lenses, to understand about how we conceptualize relationships.
Queerbaiting is NOT just a stand-in for queercoding you didn't like. And it's not bait just because they didn't kiss or get together or fuck. Queerbait is when something is MARKETED to queer people, but doesn't actually have any queer rep in it at all.
Does that mean some queerbait is queercoding in and of itself? Yes. But not all.
But when it's characters building a deep abiding love for each other over the course of the story, one that changes them and how they see the world, regardless of the fact they don't actually kiss or fuck or say "you are now my partner/spouse..." I'm sorry, that's not bait. That's a love story. And regardless of what kind of love it is, platonic, romantic, sexual, eldritch, whathaveyou, that's what queer stories ARE.
Especially when the characters in question are literally canonically queer, but their relationship isn't made EXPLICITLY romantic. Like guys. Really?
Please read anything at all about the history of queerness in your medium of choice before you start shouting "queerbait" at things that are literally made to be complicated.

So I had some thoughts about Rain Code and Kanai Ward so after a considerable amount of pressure from ppl in a discord server, I am sharing it with all of you.
TL;DR:
Tumblr media
If you want to hear more of my thoughts, here you go:
So-- After finishing rain code, I couldn't stop the idea that after Kanai Ward reopened, it must have had a lot of vistiors. People who want to see Kanai Ward again and to visit family members, people who want to see the homunculi, and of course the monster fuckers.
Those guys exist and if they heard there was a group of vampires that turn into zombies after they die, you KNOW they will be RUNNING to Kanai Ward. I wouldn't be surprised if they would try to climb the restricted area as morbid as it sounds. Makoto is going insane dealing with weekly attempted break-ins.
Plus another crowd who will be jumping on the homunculi is definitely the influencers. I mean, a group of immortal beings, they are definitely marketing on it. Especially if they have human-homunculus hybrids (Because I'm sure it's possible for homunculi to have kids. Look in me in the eye and tell me the same Huesca that couldn't make his science project not rabid in sunlight would have the foresight to make homunculi sterile). Once again another group that is causing Makoto to have stress migraines.
But overall, I know who would definitely be the first one to get one to this and it's Vivia Twilight (yes this is a Vivia post)
Tumblr media
Evidence? LOOK AT HIM. Don't tell me that this depressed goth man who get his butt out of the fireplace to get a piece of the pie. You just KNOW with the amount books he has read that he definitely would like to try it out. Dude has zero energy, but I'm sure he can spare two seconds to jump someone (or Yakou). The man has no care for his safety and his life. He will definitely do it.
Vivia is a certified Monsterfucker. End post.

UPDATE: The United Nations passed a ceasefire resolution! However, It's incredibly temporary. So, on that note, here's 7 Things I've Learned While Doing Solo Outreach In Solidarity With A Ceasefire And Palestine because while that is progress, we are not there yet. The end goal is justice & there is much more work to be done. Since I finished setting up this outreach site, I've gone out and tried my hand at solo outreach three times. It's been a process and a lot of learning along the way. That said, these tips also work for small groups as well.
Related: It's important to know your rights. Laws can vary per state when it comes to protests. Know yours before you do outreach. 1.) Give yourself time and patience to find your groove. Things that may work with a larger group, may not necessarily work when you're doing outreach by yourself. I've found I just need to try things & see. It can feel a bit messy at first, but if you are aware and open to change, you will eventually find your groove. And once you do, doing solo outreach is a lot easier.
2.) It's okay if you feel self-conscious while doing solo outreach. I still feel that way at times when I begin doing outreach, but I find this phrase helps me get out of my head & into the zone. "There's a genocide happening. We all must take as much action as we can. This isn't about you." Deep breath. Okay. Let's do this. Another thing I think about is the Nazi holocaust (a genocide where a number of people in my family were killed.) And I think what would I have done during that time? While not the exact same thing, this is a genocide. Now is your time to do something, to be that person, and when I focus on that, that feeling is bigger than any self-conscious feelings that I might have.
3.) Find your local go-to outreach locations. Locations that are great for protests and group outreach are not necessarily the best for solo outreach.
For example, I recently stood on the corner by a small bodega (local store) and a college, which worked well. If I was in a group, that corner would've been too crowded.
Ideally, a good location will have a nice flow but not be overly packed with people. Also, the area shouldn't be where people are too much in a rush.
I initially tried doing outreach in midtown (New York City) during people's lunch breaks. Didn't plan it that way, but I had an eye doctor appointment in the area, got there too early and so while waiting outside, (my sign was in my bag), I thought "Well, let's give this a go." While some people were giving me signs of approval, they were too busy to stop and engage. Also, the area should not be too loud. Once I tried a spot where almost every time I tried to talk to people, a truck went by semi-drowning me out. but on a related note...
4.) Don't just hold up the sign and wait for people to take action. When I did this, I got plenty of thumbs up, but no one scanned the QR code on the outreach sign to fill out the petition. It wasn't until I started saying variations of "Take action for a ceasefire" that people started to engage. 5.) Keep the tone friendly/approachable. Yes, this genocide (like all genocides) is horrific and time-sensitive, but I've found if your tone is too stressed out, urgent, and/or outright chanting (as one might do in a group at a protest) it can turn people away. If you're chanting in a group, it's unity. People understand that. If you're chanting by yourself, you're just a random person on a street corner talking too loudly. That said, it also depends on how loud your location is. Go accordingly.
6.) Do self-care in-between outreach so you don't get burned out. Do not joy or rest shame yourself. We must be proactive in taking care of ourselves in these times, and to do so is not selfish. Imposing unnecessary suffering on yourself does not help the Palestinians or the cause.
While doing outreach I have gotten more positive responses than negative ones, but a couple times I have been called various and not very complimentary names. And I can kind of laugh at that now while typing this, but sometimes when I'm tired, it bothers me more than it would and I find my brain is focusing on the few negative reactions instead of the many positive ones.
When this happens, I know I need to do self-care and feed my soul. This is not only important for my emotional well-being, but it also allows me to do more effective outreach. There is a difference between taking action and taking effective action and it's easier to know the difference when you're not emotionally drained.
Sometimes you're going to take action and it's not going to be this big thing that goes viral, but that doesn't mean it's not making a difference. When I am burned out, I often feel impatient, and frustrated and even wonder what is the point? But when I care for myself, I am then in a place to remember that every action ripples, and when part of a collective effort (which this is), it can most definitely make big waves. So far 12 people scanned the QR code on the sign and that's 12 more than before.
7.) Never forget that everyone has something to contribute and remembering that can lead to new ways of participation.
I came across this lovely human who wanted to take action in solidarity but didn't have a cellphone to scan the QR code on the outreach sign. I asked him if he wouldn't mind having his photo taken with said sign, to be shared on social media, and he said yes.
And that's when I started taking photos of people, including those who could scan the QR code but wanted to do more.
The reason why this is useful is that when the photo is shared on social media, it's now one more image that's getting the word out, encouraging people to scan the QR code (which leads to the petition & thus take action.)
People can also take their own photo with the sign and post that on their social media, thus further getting the word out. This can be done digitally as well. (Tag me on Instagram, Twitter, Bluesky, and/or TikTok @ rebelwheelsnyc if you do.)
That said, I don't ask everyone I engage with if I can take their photo. You have to take it on a case-by-case basis. If a person is scanning the QR code but is giving off vibes that they are in a rush, I don't ask. But if they are casually chatting with me while filling out the petition, asking questions about the project, etc then I do.
GET INVOLVED! For further tips, free outreach graphics, a FAQ & more, kindly check out: WhyCeasefireFAQ.Tumblr.Com
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project via sharing, getting involved, and sending kind words. It was created with a lot of heart and solidarity, and I greatly appreciate people showing the project some love. [image description: There are four images at the top of the article, two in each row. Upper right: a thin-framed person with light skin and black hair that's slightly wavy and a thin mustache, is wearing artsy sunglasses a black winter coat a gray scarf, and is holding up the outreach sign. Bottom left: a petite senior woman is wearing an olive green winter coat, a beige scarf, and a black hat. She has small sunglasses and is holding up the outreach sign. Lastly, bottom right: a bald man with brown skin and a hint of a mustache and goatee, is wearing a black winter coat and is looking right at the camera while holding up the outreach sign. the outreach sign in question is as follows: Rectangle graphic. Black & white except for a watermelon illustration which is green, white, red, and black aka the colors of the Palestinian flag. Graphic is divided into three sections by thick black lines. Section 1: The text reads“Ceasefire now! “Stop the genocide in Palestine” “Sign the petition:” Section 2: “URL if not now movement .org / our - campaigns.” “Or scan code with your phone” “Jewish-led. Allies are welcome.” Section 3: “Questions? Concerns? Why ceasefire FAQ. tumblr. com.” Main font is a bold thick font except for “sign of petition” which is in a script font. Next to “scan code with your phone” is a QR code which is a bunch of random black shapes with a white background. “Ceasefire now” is the only text that is white with a black horizontal rectangle behind it. All other text is black on a white background. The text “sign the petition has a white rounded rectangle” behind it with a thin black border.]

“autistic luna” this, “autistic luna” that, can we talk about how hermione was autistic coded pls?
I mean... yes? It's definitely something I've thought about but I haven't really talked about it because I'm aware of my habit of making headcanons that all of my favourite characters are autistic (Dano!Riddler, Robin from ST etc), but yes, I've definitely considered that Hermione is autistic-coded.
Let me just be clear from the beginning: Do I think that R*wling intentionally wrote Hermione as autistic or autistic-coded? Absolutely fucking not. That woman can't write autism for shit, as she's proven with her Strike books; she didn't write Newt as autistic intentionally, nor did she write Luna as autistic intentionally, and I'm not giving that nightmare the credit for any autistic-coded characters in her works because she doesn't deserve it.
With that out of the way, let me discuss autistic!hermione.
Tumblr media
One of most obvious things we all know about Hermione is her love of studying; it very much seems that upon finding out she was a witch, she threw herself into that world and learned all that she could about it. By the time she was on the train to Hogwarts for her first year, she had literally read all of the assigned text books and even knew a few basic spells. This is in part due to the fact she wanted to fit in with the Wizarding World - it's implied that she didn't really have any muggle friends pre-Hogwarts, she was probably ostracised for being such a "know-it-all", and it's clear that she wanted to fit in at Hogwarts, to find a place where she belonged, hence why she threw herself into it (and also because of her love of learning of course). You can see that she was desperate not only to learn as much as possible but also to make friends; if she didn't care about being accepted and making friends, Ron's comment about "no wonder she hasn't got any friends" wouldn't have hurt her nearly as much.
While a love of studying certain topics and a desire to fit in aren't solely autistic traits, they are ones that autistic people do seem to experience, myself included. Speaking from experience, I want to fit in and make friends because I feel lonely, and I see that everyone else around me seems comfortable/to have found people they can be around and trust, and I wish I had that. I find friendships very difficult to build and maintain, because I don't know how to talk to people or how to get them to like me, and I feel deficient in that area. Again, that's probably an experience non-autistic people can relate to as well, but from what I can tell it seems to be very common among us.
Another reason I think Hermione could be autistic-coded is that she seems to display a lack of empathy for others at times; a prime example of this is when Lavender's rabbit, Binky, died. Lavender was - quite understandably - sobbing about it, especially given that Binky was only a baby and that he was killed by a fox. Instead of offering any kind of sympathy or empathy, Hermione instead lectured her (and everyone else) about how Trelawney wasn't actually a seer, analysing how Trelawney didn't predict the bunny's death - she was more interested in proving that Divination sucked because it was her worst subject, like she had to have some kind of win over Trelawney/Divination. And while I understand her logic, she was sort of right, choosing that very moment - when one of her dorm-mates was sobbing over her dead pet - was not the best time to voice it. There's also her utter disregard for Ron's feelings over "Scabbers"; she had this "he's never really cared that much about Scabbers anyway" "he's an old rat anyway" kind of mentality that just displayed no kind of attempt to understand his feelings. The fact that Hermione became a pet owner herself just a few months before all of this also goes to show her lack of empathy/sympathy, the fact that despite owning an animal now she still was unable to do the socially acceptable thing and show empathy/sympathy instead of logic. Hermione is certainly not emotionless by any means, but there are definitely times where she seems so absorbed by her own ideas and thoughts/feelings that she's oblivious to other people's.
Not all autistic people are like this, of course, and not all people who display a lack of empathy or sympathy are necessarily autistic, but it's another thing to consider. While I like to think of myself as being a bit too empathetic, there are many times where I've appeared selfish and too caught up in my own head/feelings to regard other people's feelings or how best to approach being there for them. It's not because I don't care for them, it's just that I'm so caught up in my own thoughts and how I'm feeling that I often don't think twice about how someone else must be doing - and I'd say it's the same for Hermione, because while she doesn't seem to feel particularly strongly either way about Lavender in PoA, we know she definitely cares for Ron because he's one of her best friends (and love interest but if anything it was probably more a crush than anything else in third year)
Some more things that I'm too exhausted to discuss properly because I'm suffering severe burnout right now:
Hermione is very blunt and to the point, she doesn't sugarcoat things or mince words at all
It's mentioned that she talks very fast, to the point where during their first interaction Harry's like "did she even breathe during that speech?!?!", which is usually what I do when I infodump on people because I want to get all of my words out before I'm interrupted or forget them
An extremely good memory, she remembers so much of what she reads in books; the only reason I don't think it's photographic is because she read about Flamel and then later didn't remember it immediately when the trio were searching for information on him until Harry found him mentioned on the back of Dumbledore's Chocolate Frog card.
It's worth mentioning that she panics in dangerous situations and seems to forget things; "oh we don't have any wood to build a fire", for example, and then Ron had to remind her that she's a witch and can literally just use magic - something you'd think she'd remember given that she not only set Snape on fire that year but also created flames to put in jars during the winter
Hermione seems to be brilliant at spells and magic that require precision, but then she struggles with spells/magic that require some creativity and imagination like the Patronus charm - she's a logical thinker and so struggles with emotional charms
This links to what I said above about a lack of sympathy/empathy and her struggle making friends, but she definitely lacks social awareness; she constantly butts into other people's conversations and business, speaks her mind abrasively, and critically
Hermione taking on way too many classes in PoA, struggling to keep on top of it all, and snapping at anyone who came near her; struggling to manage things is is commonly found among many of us with autism since we can often only handle a certain amount of sensory input before we get overwhelmed.
Her reluctance to even consider other people's views/beliefs, eg. Luna's belief in strange or bizarre sounding creatures. She may have technically been right, but she was rude to Luna about it and didn't even want to consider why someone may have an opposing view. Hermione is so set in what she believes in, and what she believes in is logic and hard evidence.
I also recently found out that Emma Watson was apparently diagnosed with combined/hyperactive type ADHD as a child; while autism and ADHD are two different things, sometimes there's an overlap and sometimes people have both, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that any autistic/neurodivergent traits in movie!Hermione are partly down to this.
I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts and if people want to add onto this post because it's been a long time since I read the books properly, and its also 1:30am here so I'm going to bed to try and get a few hours sleep!

More AU lore, who cheered?
We already know a bit about Casper's childhood thanks to Charlie, but I wanted to add a bit more spice to it, as well as what happened after Casper moved!
(quick note: I've seen people color-code names so I'm gonna try and do that, though I don't know if specific characters have specific shades, so bear with me here! :])
First off, Cas' parents weren't the best. They were very absent, preferring to spend their time and money on alcohol and drugs instead of on their child. This is why Cas spends so much time with Charlie, he was the only thing they had.
Then, Casper's dad lost his job, and they had to move back in with Casper's grandparents who lived hours away. That last week with Charlie was horrible, knowing that they had to leave the person that they held closest to their heart, the person who they loved, all because their stupid dad couldn't hold a job.
They didn't stay at their grandparents long. Or rather, Cas didn't stay there long. They got a job in the new town, and saved money till they had enough to get an apartment. It was old and broken down, but it was better than the crampt, smoke-filled house they were forced to move to.
Life was hard for a while, Cas had to get a second job in a shady area. It was scary, but to Cas it was worth it. Everything came to a head, thought, when they were jumped one night.
They were just heading home from their second job, when a group of thugs jumped them for their wallet. It was the scariest moment of Casper's life up till then, they didn't know if they would stop at their wallet, if they would hurt them.
Then, they heard some shouting from the distance, and before they knew it, the thugs that had jumped them were gone.
And in their place stood someone else. A well dressed man who helped them up from the ground and made sure they had their wallet and everything. This was strange to Casper, as no one has shown them real kindness in a long time.
The new stranger offered for him to walk Casper home, and Cas agreed.
While they walked, Casper got to know the stranger a bit. His job was to gather intel for his boss (thought he never said who) and that he was walking back from another mission when he saw Casper in distress. The stranger felt bad for them, so he decided to help.
It was nice talking to the new stranger. When they got to his apartment, the new friend surprised them once more.
"Is this your place?" He said, surprised by how run-down the building was.
"Yeah," Casper sighed, "it's not great, but it's the best I can afford"
"Best you can afford? Do you not have a good job?" The man turned to look at Cas.
"No, I work at the convenience store down the street and the food counter in the bowling alley down town" Casper looked down at the ground as they kicked a rock "they don't pay much, but it's all I can get for now."
"Really?" The stranger looked in shock before they began to think a bit. "What are you good at?"
"Huh?" Cas looked back up.
"What are you good at? Can you fight? Are you really smart with numbers? Can you talk to people well?" He listed a few things out.
"Well, I was really interested in computers when I was in High School. I hacked the school Chromebooks so I could do whatever I wanted on them" Casper smiled at the memory, it was one of their greatest achievements in school.
"Well then," Casper's new friend smiled "how would you like a job as a hacker and intel agent? You seem like you'll do perfectly"
"Wait, really?" Casper stood in shock, had this stranger really offered him a job? As a hacker no less?
"Yeah, it pays really well. Thought, there are a few details that might make you rethink it-" the man began but was cut off by Casper.
"Yes! Yes! Oh my gosh yes!" Casper jumped, smiling wide "I know you're probably in some shady business, but I don't care if I have to hack some rich guys computer or whatever, I'll do it!"
The man just smiled at Casper and laughed. "Well then, I'll come get you tomorrow to meet the boss then."
Casper just smiled as they watched their new friend walk away. "oh, by the way" Casper called out, "what's your name?"
The man turned and smiled once more. "Rook" is all he said "can't wait to start working with you, Casper"

Why the Humans Are to Blame for All the Problems in the Matrix | The Matrix Lore
I watched a youtube video called 'Why the Humans Are to Blame for All the Problems in the Matrix' that I fundamentally disagreed with.
LINK HERE.
And I left a comment that I know no one will ever see, but that I am interested in exploring with other people. So hopefully, by putting my comment here I can generate a conversation. Also, it's good to have it handy for my own reference because I am writing fic currently and having my ideas typed out helps me.
What do you guys think? Who should shoulder the blame?
My comment is below the cut.
I think looking at the bare facts of who did what is kind of missing the point.
A constant theme in the Matrix universe is looking at systems of control. When you say 'the humans didn't accept the machines' who are you really talking about?
Governments, corporations, and the people in power calling the shots. And to put a broad label on these people you can say capitalists.
At the Million Machine March you specifically see humans marching alongside machines in their journey towards freedom, and the reporter says the streets were filled by 'machines and their human sympathizers'. Is it hard to believe that some humans and some machines were friends? That there were communities and groups who cared for each other and looked out for one another?
The genocide of the machines was likely instigated by business interests and government scare tactics. If a machine is a person, can you sell them? How does this affect ownership and manufacturing? And of course the boogeyman of 'if AI gets smart enough what will they do to us?' propaganda. It wouldn't be in the interest of tech companies to 'liberate' their products and it isn't in the interest of governments which are likely using machines already for military activities.
Turning everyday people against the machines is likely an ongoing goal for the government.
When 01 is created and begins competing in the global market the people who are going to be angry about that are capitalists. It would also be an oversight not to recognize economic control as a form of warfare. Yes, machines were making products for human consumption, but controlling an economy is a real imperialist tactic.
I also 100% think that 'humans' did not darken the sky. Again, this would have been fueled by tech companies and military interests.
'Humans' didn't choose this, it was chosen for us by a very few but powerful people who happened to be human.
I also think that taking what Agent Smith said about the first Matrix at face value is kind of silly. Agent Smith kind of shows his hand while talking to Morpheus in how little he actually understands and knows human nature. He compares us to a virus that 'spreads to an area and multiplies and multiplies, until every natural resource is consumed' but he's not describing humans, he's describing capitalism. Human beings have been great at adapting to different climates all over the world, but the overconsumption of materials and the destruction of the natural environment is not a natural component of human occupation of land.
Agent Smith also doesn't know much about the Matrix itself, he doesn't know it's imperfect or how long it's been around for. Dude actually thinks he will get to leave once he gets Zion's codes. What Agent Smith doesn't know could fill a warehouse. He is being manipulated by the machines in power just the way humans were originally manipulated by other humans in power.
And, lastly, I don't think that the current version of the Matrix is devoid of a desire to punish humans. It's enforced by machines who hold humans in contempt (the agents saying things like 'only human' for instance and using cruel force to keep people enslaved). It replicates a point in our history where the old systems of control that lead to the war are being wielded now by the machines to the same affect. There is a deliberate cruelty built into the Matrix which, I think, the machines fool themselves into believing is cold, calculated, and impersonal.
We also never see any evidence that the machines are working towards a solution to the environmental crisis of the real world. As it is presented in the movies, the machines seem content with this state of things going on indefinitely.
The moral of the story, I think, is that humans and machines made the Matrix together. Specifically, the groups that were in power. And unless we can come together and break away from the systems controlling us, we will be trapped in it's clutches and it's never ending cycles forever.
Agent Smith wasn't wrong to rebel, but he could never see who was really keeping him down, you know?

The Nova Cronan Courtroom is as empty as it usually is. Most governors don't take their jobs very seriously unless it's to help themselves. At least, that's what Perceptor's been able to gather. He watches as each governor files out, some sooner than others, and he sighs to himself. Originally, he was going to try and use this time to try and push for more infrastructure funds.
There are those in the Praetorian Heights, of which he is sworn to care for, that suffer. He is not so naive that he misses the wealth distribution discrepancies. People are starving.
He hears a group of governors discussing going to some recent upscale energon depot and burns at the thought.
He sighs to himself and collects his things, holding his dataslate under his arm as he cleans his area. Just a little less work for whoever has to clean up after them. He scans the crowd, trying to spot The Judge.
It should be able to help. The Judge would be able to take his plight to the Senator.
Ah! There it is. Perceptor cuts through the crowd, trying to get The Judge’s attention, “Judge! Ah- excuse me, sorry- Judge!”
The Judge looks up and cringes to itself,  but makes no move to leave as he approaches.
Once he’s finally within range, he exvents a sigh of relief, “Thank Adaptus. I have an inquiry for you. Or, a request, really.”
Perceptor holds out the datapad he held beneath his arm for The Judge to take. It takes it and flicks through it at speeds he could only dream of.
“Don’t you think you could be using your time better?” The Judge says as it holds out his datapad.
“This is important! My proposal would allow for Energon allowances for the—”
“We are well aware of what was in your proposal. Must We say it explicitly? Your request is denied.”
“But-”
“Our patrons won’t spend that kind of money on those who do not contribute progress to Our great polity. If they were truly worth something then they would be among Our hard working middle class.”
“All due respect, our middle class is on the brink of collapse. If we distributed—”
The Judge shoots Perceptor a glare, and suddenly he finds he cannot finish his sentence. The room grows tense, the air thick with an unspoken anger.
Perceptor takes the slate and holds it to his chest, looking down, thoroughly chastised.
“We hope you consider the privilege you have been given, Governor Perceptor,” the way it says Governor sounds like a knife, “how on Cybertron you managed is still beyond Us…”
“Yes, Judge. Apologies. I will take my leave now.”
He doesn’t have to look back to know It’s watching him.
———————————————————
Perceptor worries his lip as he peruses Dynamo’s gallery. “I have a new commission for you.”
Dynamo looks up, a weary grin at his lips, “Shall we discuss details in my office?”
“Yes, please,” he glances back, staring at the open glass paneling, at the people walking by. He sees the false light post that’s been following him. Do they really think him so dull? And to spy so blatantly…
They walk into Dynamo’s office together, and Perceptor stares at the painted wall.
“So. What did you have in mind?”
“I have been considering the word Apotheosis, recently.” Code. [I’ve been considering the rebellion.]
“Deification? I would think a man of science like you wouldn’t be thinking of such things.” [I thought you made it thoroughly clear you wouldn’t deal in this.]
“They recently took down a statue of Adaptus. I was considering the historical significance of such an act.” [Something’s come up. I was thinking about what I can do.]
“Is that what you want, then?” [You’re really in?]
“Oh yes. I believe it would add some… what was the word my colleagues recently used? Character to my rather drab life.” [I am all in. What do you need of me?]
“We’ll talk about your patronage check next week once I’ve figured out the logistics.” [We’ll talk in a week about funding for my group.]
“Good, I do hope you make it as beautiful as these other paintings.” [Make it count, and make it hurt.]

So, I'm at Union 30 in Wuthering Waves.
I've been playing since launch day.
Playlist of Pulls and Fights
Playlist Compilation of Lag Issues
1.) My attention span when it comes to gaming is so bad that I get distracted by every single side question you can imagine. And once again, I started a new game and completely got distracted.
As such, I have not finished the main storyline yet, because I would see a side quest relatively close to me, and I would go start it. And in the middle of that side quest, I would see there's another side quest and I'd be like, 'oh, I could quickly go do that and then I'll come back and finish this one.' But then that one will take me halfway across the map, and then there will be another side quest in that area. And so I'm like, 'okay, all can do that real quick.' And then I've somehow spent 10 hours starting side quests and then never finishing them.
So, then I get to a point where I end up walking into the part of another side quest. And I end up finishing it. And because I finished it, and there's another one nearby, I'm just like, 'I might as well finish that one too.' And so when I say that I have done all of the current available side quests, I'm not lying. I still don't know the ending of the current story because I kept getting distracted!
2.) The lag was absolutely ungodly. I kept a detailed compilation ever since the first day of the game dropping to track if things have been improving with every patch they released. And I can conclude that, yes, there have been several improvements.
I even went so far as to start a second account on the 5th day after release. And I picked the other MC so I could try and experience the game now, versus the game on launch. And yes, it was much better. I was finally able to see all of the cutscenes clearly and hear the dialogue properly. And I was not skipping around as much in battle as I was on my original account.
So yes, they released to an innumerable number of problems, but they have been working every single day to try and address all of those problems. The compensation rewards have been pretty decent.
3.) This leads into another issue though, and it's constantly caving over and over to the playerbase over every little thing. They already changed the dialogue of some of the antagonists to be nicer, and they've even gone so far as to change the physical design of one of the antagonists. Now, I personally don't care because I thought the design was bad to begin with, but the reason it was changed was because men were complaining over on the CN side.
There are real things that need to be fixed, like the fact that the voice directing for the English voices is terrible, and that basically everybody but three characters don't actually sound like they're trying at all. From what I heard, they hired British VAs, but then wanted them to do American accents, all because Britain is closer to China and easier to reach... And those VAs struggled, which is why NPC voices sound like they're from London, Edinburgh, and NYC all in one conversation.
There are localization issues, and they just had to compensate everyone because the fancy weapon on the banner right now wasn't displaying the correct information and people spent money to get it only for it to not do what it claimed it would. A lot of the NPC's in the open world have text hanging above their heads, but the text hasn't been properly inputted and is full of code.
Also, it's very clear that certain things were added after the voice directing was finished, because there are parts in the dialogue that are written out but not actually said by anybody. This happens a lot in the side quests.
Caving to whiny men online is very different from fixing actual issues, and if they continue to cave, it'll undermine their own efforts.
4.) I'm going to be honest. I still don't really understand a majority of the story right now. With all of the problems that everyone was having on the very first day, while trying to just play everything through, it was hard to deal with the performance issues piled on with the very sudden info dump that they threw at everybody.
I have a feeling that at this moment in time, it would be better for me to watch somebody else's playthrough of the game. Someone who had no problems at all, so I can get a better experience and focus more that way.
A lot of the instructions are very unclear on how to do things. I don't know if this is also a localization error, but I do know that a lot of people have been making complaints about how things don't make sense, even when you check the tutorial page.
5.) Outside of the outstanding lg issues, the biggest grievance I actually have with the game is how ridiculous it is when leveling up characters, weapons, and echoes. All of those things are way too expensive. And then farming the materials to be able to do those things is also way too expensive.
6.) I like the combat system when it actually functions. I really like the look of the game when I can actually see what's going on. I am a bit bummed that there isn't much music for things going on in the open world.
When it comes to comparisons, it is not as much like Genshin as haters really want it to be to fuel their whining. To be honest, the first 20 or so minutes made me think of Honkai: Star Rail more than anything, and then everything that came after that just felt very close to Tower Fantasy. But again, this is a Fantasy RPG with a MC who needs to be mysterious. So, what's the best way to make them mysterious? Have them forget who they are and have to find that out themselves while everybody around them seems to really need their help for every little thing.
TOF did not come up with this. HSR did not come up with this. GI did not come up with this. BotW did not come up with this. These are very common tropes, and none of these games, or their predecessors, or related companies came up with these ideas. They're just what's most popular right now in pop culture.
~
Now do I think that Wuthering Waves was released way too early? Yes.
However, I think it was necessary for them to release it now, because, unfortunately, it is very obvious that HoYoVerse/MiHoYo is going to own the summer. Genshin is about to update with a VERY lore important update, and Honkai: Star Rail will be updating like 2 weeks after that. Honkai Impact 3rd P2 is probably updating somewhere in there as well, and then Zenless Zone Zero will be released on July 4th. And soon after would be another Genshin update which will either be the new region or a big summer event with loads of rewards to prepare people to spend in the next update. Kuro literally wouldn't have been able to handle releasing after all of that when people will be so focused on HYV/MHY content.
I'll continue tracking my progress in the game and how I feel going forward.

@rationalismizationism
This terrible article is an example of a grift very similar to the one it is satirizing.
A big part of my break with mainstream leftist politics is the inability to explain the "crypto" in crypto-racism.
"You see, you’re missing the main point here. Woke is a secret code word, a whistle of sorts, that alerts people who look and think like me that we’re on the same side without ever having to use a racial slur in public."
Why?
No, really, why not just use the racial slur in public? Why not just advocate for segregation? Or slavery? People were able to do that for the vast majority of our nation's history, so why wouldn't Ron Desantis just start quoting Bull Connor?
"Well, he knows he'd get into trouble if he did that..."
Oh, so people like you have the leverage to get national opposition party presidential candidates to tailor their speech to some extent?
If the answer is "yes" or "no" we both get to some awkward places.
If Ron DeSantis avoids saying racist things, even though he doesn't care about what the lefties think, then we might be forced to confront the idea that he, you know... isn't actually itching to say racial slurs?
If he is itching to say them, but he doesn't because he's scared of the woke left, then...
Clearly they actually have a lot of power?
The clearly stated central idea of this piece is that people who disagree too strongly with the author is probably just a secret racist.
So, can you get in trouble for being a secret racist? Is disagreeing with the author (Or a certain teacher, activist, HR person, coworker etc) sufficient evidence of being a secret racist that it could get you or me into trouble?
If the answer is yes, we've kind of just found a pretty good non-racist reason for concern with wokeness.
If, on the other hand, a lot of people disagree with this author for non-racist reasons, then they are part of a fairly large group of demagogues passing along a completely false view of America, which is also a non-racist reason for concern.
Don't think I'm letting the right wing off the hook here, they have a very similar problem which is that if they defined "woke" in a coherent way and followed that definition to the end, they'd have to acknowledge the ways in which the "woke" have been politically marginalized for the last half-century and their own fear based grift would fall apart.
That's what I was saying below; if the national Democratic party has been completely co-opted by woke people, and wokeness is (as @whitehotharlots said) a desire to Defund the police, abolish prisons, create restorative justice, enact hate speech laws, enact gun control laws, and create an atmosphere where you can get fired for suspicion of racism, why aren't they, you know, doing most of that?
How do we explain the complete inaction by the national Democratic party on prison and police abolition?
The political aims of both the woke and the anti-woke require the cultivation of a sense of powerlessness against an enemy.
But if that enemy were defined concretely either side would be essentially required to admit that they *already* wield significant power in *some* areas, to the point where they've already succeeded in boxing that enemy out of key areas (cultural and administrative power belong to the woke, political power to the anti-woke).
Why this admission is so impossible is my major obsession right now.

crucify me daddy (or how I learned to stop giving a shit about celebrities relationships and focus on the nu cold war) *insert edgy title here by Fall Out Boy* - a rant with love
So TTPD has finally graced us with it's presence and it's an amazing album. It's a mix of Folklore + Speak Now + Reputation + Midnights in one bundle. Will have to give it a few more listens before I can decide my personal favorites but Clara Bow has been stuck in my head quite a lot.
Now... elephant in the room. I am a fan of The 1975 but I am not a Matty Healy apologist by any means. Do I think he's a racist, fuck no! If so, why are pretty much all of The 1975's work r'n'b based and has a black influence and collaborations with ethnic artists. He's not dancing in a KKK outfit or anything or wearing blackface or beating up a Pakistani kid or . Why are the many artists he's supported over the years people of color or *coughs* ASIAN! FOR FUCKS SAKE HIS LAST GIRLFRIEND IS BLACK AND WAS A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC ABUSE TO WHICH HE SUPPORTED AND STOOD UP FOR EVEN GIVEN HIS SICKENING PORN TASTE!
Do I think he's a twat and an idiot who sticks his foot firmly in his mouth a lot and says and does a lot without thinking, YES! The whole Love It If We Made It incident which started the entire Matty hate mob was an honest ill thought mistake. He shouldn't have shared his own song during his BLM post, I agree. It was fairly cringe for him to kiss the gay fan and put a target on that fans back but his heart was in the right place in calling out the bullshit in the eastern areas against stuff like this.
Cum Town helped Matty through his rehab and in return he was invited as a guest to which he joined in on some edgy jokes about Ice Spice and shared his porn taste of the hardcore variety like most men watch. The episode was out for many months prior to the news of them getting together however the psycho swifties wanted any ammunition to cause a fandom jihad.
So to no one's surprise, I was expecting at least a few Matty mentions. Boy was I in for a treat. Peter, But Daddy I Love Him, The Tortured Poets Department among others.
But kudos to Taylor for actually sticking up for herself and Matty during But Daddy I Love Him. I loved Taylor before but I completely adore her for having the guts to say to those parasocial dicks who thinks everything is a coded message or an easter egg, enough is fucking enough
"I'll tell you something right now I'd rather burn my whole life down Than listen to one more second of all this bitchin' and moanin' I'll tell you something 'bout my good name It's mine alone to disgrace I don't cater to all these vipers dressed in empath's clothing"
It sickens me to see some of Swifties wish death, rape, bus crashes, , overdoses on Matty and his family. She chose to be with him, she wasn't shotgun wedding or married off to him and fuck me, imagine genuinely liking someone once you get to know them and not look at the edgy stuff they said online... crazy am i right?
Look what happened to Mac Miller, Ari's fans launched a crusade against him and he ended up doing himself in because of it
You know we're going to be nuked soon anyway... china, russia, israel or even if Trump gets re-elected. Mexico is over run with videos of people getting their faces cut off and Logan, Jake and KSI sell poison to kids and have yet to be assassinated. Life's too short to care about the relationship of two celebrities. Go touch grass, go milk a horse blindfolded, go kick a hornets nest, go burn yourself alive in front of Trump tower. Be a decent human being stop fixating on relationships of the stars

Rewriting the Saegen Folk, a Chinese-Viking Fusion Culture (WIP)
Tumblr media
So, you've seen what cultures look like when they're DONE -- when multifarious stories could live in them. But what about when they're not?
Here's my Saegen culture. They were originally just German-ish Viking-esque peoples and they were BORINGGGGGG and also, I built this whole culture for a different world YEARSSSS ago and then imported it into Yssaia. And at this point, my interests have just shifted at this point and I want to add more of my Chinese heritage (from which, I am very distant but I am interested in getting back in touch!) So, let's start looking at a revamp, shall we?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, the above is basically what I had from my old world. I mean, I also had a whole law codex that was the equivalent of Hammurabi's Code as well as a Nobility Etiquette Handbook and the start of a story that got re-molded and re-written... But yeah. Here's what we're working with.
I started with the fashion (because Fashion parameters = easier new character design) and reworked it... barely. A little.
Tumblr media
As you can see, the men barely changed but women were more changed (also yes, something something, clothes don't have a gender, etc.) One of the biggest things that changed was they now have a hanfu-style undershirt.
But this was a few months ago and I think an aesthetic change isn't the actual problem here... the problem is that the culture doesn't have a good emotional core to which I relate AND the story I wrote about Ymver, their hero, just doesn't resonate with me anymore either.
SO let's start at the basics: Geography & geopolitics. As you can kinda see on the above map, they live near the artic and, in part, under the Upper Continent. Here's another (admittedly, sketchy) map to help illustrate:
Tumblr media
That means it is cold and dark. The only sun they get is in the mornings and maybe evenings, with that sliver in Selkie Territory that also gets some sun. So, fashion-wise, I have the right idea with the furs and multiple layers. Food-wise, they're going to probably be pretty reliant on the ocean and that breadbaskety area, since Nouveau Thuille took the river valley... Unless...
Right now, in my head, Saegenheim is just a normal city with brownish pallisades around it... But what if it had underground agriculture? Underground agriculture with some kind of fungi that thrived in the Permafrost? What if there's a whole ecosystem built on these fungi with insects and semi-aquatic animals and such? Now there's an a city that sounds interesting...
A while back I started a story for a class that was loosely inspired by Saegenheim, where Demons were being murdered but no one cared because Demons... I feel like that could work even better with a vertical "class divide" in the city. Very Arcane upper-city, under-city...
You know who else has upper/under cities? Hoyoverse games -- Belobog and, very soon here, Fontaine.
And you know what I just started on? A pre-emptive Fontaine fix-it fanfic called "The Sunken City" lol... Maybe I should take some ideas from that for my Saegenheim re-write....
Also, with how close to the North things are, I think they must see the Endless Ice to the North of them as like... a holy relic of the God of Winter, Asarlai. And given that he is the Father of Humanity in their eyes -- and also, the source of their magic/Sages, it makes sense to live nearby...
So maybe the North Pole of Yssaia is just a giant Ysse Crystal... "Asarlai's Throne"
^^^ This is all just me spitballing from my analysis. Like, you saw, I LOOKED at what I had and then started going "What does this need next? What ideas are inspiring me right now?"
Also also, the Chinese influence is easy to see where it goes now: Chinese culture is a lot about respecting your place in society, respecting authority, the responsibilities of authority, and harmony. (Obviously, it is more complicated than that, but now it's time to go research more!) BUT the way I can still give them the individualism that is the downfall of the North is to have the focus be on families and villages, while being distrustful of Outsiders...
Now, I just gotta look into how the Chinese handled the cold historically and implement some of those techniques...
So now it's research time! But this post has gone on long enough with me rambling. More of this as I do more of this rewrite!

Hello there! I'm a bit new to your and I saw that in your fandoms list you had Cells at Work! as one of the fandoms you'll write headcanons for, and saw that requests were open, and got very happy :) Would it ve alright if I requested something from Cells at Work?
Sorry if I sound awkward- I don't often request things-
Oh my god! Anon thank you! This wasn't awkward at all! I love Cells at Work and am glad that I finally got a request for it. I'm gonna make it gender neutral and I hope you like it! I may make a part two involving Code Black, but once I’m able to get past episode one without almost crying. (This response was made almost two years ago when I wanted to continue writing, I was happy to get this request, but in my mental state I didn;t think I'd do this request justice.)

White Blood Cell:
White Blood Cell (1146) is usually a bit more more quiet, but talks just a little bit more with you
He’s also very protective especially with what his job is and the fact that you’re an Ordinary Cell, he knows that you’re a target for bacteria and other infectious cells
Even when he’s off he keeps his cap on and his knife with him just in case
He met you when you were telling AE 3803 how to get to some random part of the body, but told her it was no problem and actually wrote the directions down for her
Usually the only people that helped her were her Senpai, him, and no one much else really, but decided to introduce himself as a thanks for helping her
He found out that you were just really kind and really liked where your heart was at and you guys have been dating ever since
Tumblr media
Red Blood Cell:
Red Blood Cell (AE 3803) lost her way again and just ran into you accidently.
She was about to scream sorry and run away in the other direction before you told her it was fine and asked if she needed help
She told you she was on the way to the lungs, but forgot where they were, that’s when you told her she was actually on the way to the kidneys.
You led her too the lungs, you didn’t have any reason to go that way, but you wanted to make conversation with her and realized that yeah she’s a little airheaded, but she has a good heart and really likes her job
You guys started dating after a run in with Pneumococcus and running for your lives together made you guys realize your feelings for each other
Tumblr media
Eosinophil:
She wasn't used to someone being nice to her right off the bat that hasn't seen her in action
All you simply said was "how are you Eosinophil" and she had a slight crush on you
When you saw her in battle and saved everyone in the stomach you gushed about how cool she was and how all her moves were so amazing
You both had a few more conversations after that and she finally asked you out on a date
Tumblr media
Killer T Cell:
Killer T Cell is very... blunt to say the least (Killer T Cell is voiced by Daisuke Ono who also voices Jotaro Kujo so kinda makes sense)
He saved you from Staphylococcus Aureus and told you get to safety
He saw you later on walking around and "escorted" you to the lunch area and sat down and ate lunch with you and asked you if you were alright from the situation earlier
He saw you again and did the same thing afterward he asked if you'd like to date cause he finds you interesting
You said yes because you could tell he liked you cause when he talked to you he actually talked instead of yelled at you
Tumblr media
NK Cell:
You had never really met her except one time when she knocked you over (literally) on the way to a mission, you didn't really think much of her after that and believed she only cared for her job, which was fine and made sense
What you weren't expecting was a cup of tea to be set down in front of you as well as a water by her during your lunch accompanied by a very meek, "sorry for knocking you over"
Since she wasn't needed very often she frequently came to meet up with you and do errands with you
After getting to know her you asked her out and she of course said yes since you knew her better than anyone in the body
Tumblr media
Platelets (platonic obviously):
You somehow became like a parent to them and they would show you and tell you about all the cool things they did recently every time they saw you
You would always give them little leftover snacks you had on you or help them with heavy objects
When the scrape happened you grabbed as many of them as you possibly could to get them to safety as quickly as possible
After that happened they saw you as a mother even more so seeing how far you'd go to keep them safe
