Maybe I'm late to the party but I just noticed that we can briefly see the banners in Vein's PV once the title clears away

Which is actually the chinese translation of a notable phrase in Buddhism, commonly(from what I'm seeing on Google that is) translated into English as "Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am honoured". From what I understand, it's what Buddha declared when he was born.

So, he's literally using a quote from a religious figure to declare himself supreme(/on par with said figure??), which serves as a basis to the prideful lyrics of his song in which he believes he can never fail to dominate over others. Hence connecting to the underlying theme of hubris (the way he has to hang them up as a reminder to anyone who enters that room, presumably his subordinates. "Do not cross me", loud and clear. And we get to see what happens to those who do cross him)

The dragon(symbol of The Emperor) on the walls really adds to it. A looming presence over everyone

Edit: Basically his ego big asf and that's why he crashes out the way he does in the PV when the snitch whispers in his ear, although he was pretty calm beforehand. He can't stand people going against him and messing up his order of things. Hence he probably will crash out the same way over Lu Guang, targeting him specifically

have you watched gravity Falls? If not it doesn't really matter but J K Simmons (AKA J J Jameson from the Spidey movies) voices Stanford! Just a bit of a mad thing thought I'd share, only learned this today. I feel like you (you meaning people in general) never really notice just how many things actos/voice actors are in until you look at their portfolio. What the hell do you mean Maurice from king Julian is also Cleveland Brown but also he's transformer and a dancing bear from the 90s. Looking at actors portfolios is the little treat I give myself, I recommend.

i actually haven't watched gravity falls - but! i saw alex hirch at inmotion earlier this year and he's hilarious. i love jk simmons - very rad that he comes back for every incarnation of jjj in every piece of media ever.
