Random Thoughts I Had While Rewatching Descendants 1

So I'm guessing Auradon is the size of Eurasia? Cause Europe seems too small, and most of the stories take place in Europe.

Are there Isle guards? I'm guessing because how else do the posters of Beast get put on the Isle?

HOW DOES THE ISLE HAVE ELECTRICITY? Are there villains dedicated to keeping it running? Actually, that would be hilarious, especially if that means people don't mess with them. OR they do mess with them and there are just frequent power outages. More likely, now that I think about it.

CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT MALEFICENT'S LETTER MAGNETS! Ha, what if Hades left them there and she just never threw them out? He seems more like the one to have letter magnets.

I don't care about the book timeline, the villains and core four all seem a lot more familiar with each other than just a few weeks or days or whatever. I'm saying its been months at least since the core four became a gang. If not a year.

I know its a Dcom, but I kinda wish that the villains weren't treated as comedy relief. Like, its implied that the kids aren't loved, that they are scared of their parents, but the way the parents are written... excluding the end with Maleficent, they don't seem that scary and all.

Nostalgia hits hard every time

I miss the D1 clothes! D2 and D3 felt more "costumey" if that makes sense. D1 feels more like... teenagers. And, at least for the Isle outfits, more thrown together. Not as polished, in a way.

I have to admit, kinda wish there was more Aladdin related stuff in the movie. You have Audrey and Mal, Evie and Doug, and Carlos and Dude, but no Aladdin-related characters for Jay? Sure, Aziz is mentioned in the books, and Jordan is in Wicked World, but still. Oh well.

Honestly it was just SO hypocritical of the writers to address the love spell and have Mal dragged over the coals for it, but they let DOUG'S behaviour which is including but not limited to stalking and cheating accusations with no apology I might add slide!

I will try to be fair and say that if the 'technically yes' comment to the stalking question had been the only sign of toxicity. Then yes it could have been passed off as just a teenage boy getting tongue-tied round his new crush.--even if it should still be talked about, if only just to clarify, especially with Evie coming from the Isle. But as said above that is NOT the ONLY time toxicity is shown in the Devie ship and NONE. Of. It. Is. Even. ADDRESSED in a conversation between Evie and Doug.

But my point is that the writers were ABSOLUTE HYPOCRITES to let Mal be dragged over the coals and Bal be the ship called toxic. For something Mal addressed and atoned for when they have a TRULY toxic pair right next to Bal that is never even called out/addressed!

FIC INCOMING: Rebound relationship with actual feelings attached ( it’s still unhealthy though)

For poly ships I’d say that I don’t know much on the inner workings of them. I support it tho, irl and in fandom.

As for Ben and Jay it’s not something the actual series has any hints to. So all my thoughts rely on the circumstances of my AU.

(The characters attend college and Auradon is like a gated community opposed to the isle of the lost being a prison island ig.)

Mal and Evie are endgame in my AU however before they get there Ben and Mal have something going on. It goes up until the second movie where they break up, and this time they stay broken up and during the Evie/Mal lovers ballad they actually get together and they also still save Ben and return to Auradon.

Technically that means that Evie cheated on Doug but Doug and Chad deal with that together for a min. As for Ben he’s really distraught and lonely. And Jay has pent up emotions from his beef with his arch rival. So here’s the small excerpt for that:

A couple of weeks post the battle with the Sea VKs Ben was still holed up in his personal dorm suite. It was a bit strained those first days since they got back. He was the future king and all, it was because of him that the four of them could attend Auradon Uni at all. But he just…disappeared. He didn’t come to class or lunch or see anyone at all. A shame he was choosing to hide his face, if Jay was a hot prince who had it all he’d show his face every day. But he wasn’t worried they’d be kicked out. Ben was too sweet. His friends couldn’t see that though.

“ Someone has to check in the poor dear. It’s very well likely he could snap and send us off campus! I’ve spent a year’s time on my studies! I’m not throwing all that time spent away over a failed relationship, do you know how many designs I could have come up with in all that time!” Carlos was flippant as usual. One moment he had concerns over Ben’s wellbeing the next he was screaming about his clothes. “Carly don’t bug out, Ben wouldnt do that I’ve known him forever!” Chad, Carlos’ new little puppy dog. He played with his rats Patch and Rajah letting them crawl on Carlos. They were the best of friends after rooming together that first year. They’d had such fun together they requested to room again this year. Jay couldn’t be too mad at that, he was a good friend to Carlos and he had a good point.

Evie was antsy. “ Maybe Chad has a point guys, Mal and Him weren’t dating before he let us attend ADU?” Mal squeezed her hand, they had been extra lovey dovey now that they were together. Jay would never tell them this but it made him jealous, his long standing romantic interest had just been confirmed to be an impossibility when they left The Isle. “ Guys why is this even a conversation? Not only is prince Pretty boy too nice to kick us out he’s also too smart. As much as you don’t want to admit it, letting us attend ADU was a political move. He’s showing his future people that he’s gonna foster change when he’s in office. He won’t take that back and I’m sure he’ll be fine. Though why you’d stop snogging a face like Ben’s I don’t get. He looks like a good kisser.” Jay joked

He then sighed feeling he had quelled the situation. That didn’t last long before Mal spoke. “ Jay you go check on him.” “ What!” Great. “Yes Jay. You were the closest with him after me, weren’t you? I doubt he wants to see his ex or his exs girlfriend.” Jays mouth was agape. He appreciated Ben but Jay could hardly call himself a reassuring person. “ What about Carlos?!” Carlos sneered at them and got up in a huff knocking down Rajah the rat who plopped into Chads lap with a squeak“I wouldn’t have come over here to eat with you peasants if you were going to outsource me for your dirty work! Let’s go get dinner Chad! I’m feeling Italian cuisine.” Jay watched him walk off with a willing Chad trailing after him, rats in tow.

Mal looked back at him with big eyes. “Please Jay I just want you to check. I don’t want to be the reason we lose our futures here. We have a chance to be something other than…” She trailed off. “Fine. Mal. I’ll check on him but I’m telling you he won’t kick us out.” “ Thank you Jay.” Jay got up and left, before he had to endure his friend’s being all mushy and happy.

“ Benjamin Florian Beast open the fuck up.” Jay was banging on his friend’s Blackwood door. Sometimes the villain in Jay dreamed of stealing the door right off its hinges and selling it on the Isle. But Ben had become his best friend, Carlos and Chad had been so close that Jay felt a little shafted. Evie and Mal had already been distant when they dated their previous partners and now that they were with each other it was no different. Ben was his closest up until now. The door creaked open. And Ben peeked out. Surveying him he looked tired and yet irritatingly pretty. Jay couldn’t believe it, he’d showered at least but the tears and bed head were very apparent as well as the dark sleepy eyes. “Jay?” His voice was a little cracked and his eyes began watering. “Oh. Uhh hey man, I’m just here to check on you.” Ben’s eyes watered more and his lips trembled. “ Uhh Ben….” Jay stretched his arms out to the prince. At the slightest reach for him Ben flailed into his arms and sobbed. “ Oh my god Ben ,really?” Ben wasn’t a stick he had some weight to him but it was nothing Jay couldn’t handle and held him tight and hosted him up to carry him back into the room. Closing the door behind them for some privacy.

Jay attempted to let him down but Ben held on tighter and refused to let go, sobbing into his arms and mumbling incoherently. Jay sighed and and rubbed his back as he got more and more wet. After a bit the mumbling stoped yet still with many tears and heavy breath Ben started talking coherently “ Do you think I was really in love Jay Jay?” He sighed, it was nice to hear his nickname again… it made him feel special. “ I dunno maybe?” He had said he wasn’t good at reassuring people. “Really Jay. I’m asking you for real.” Ben moved his head back to look at Jays face, he still refused to let go of him it was much more intimate than what was normal. Jays heart beat harder and he felt awkward all of a sudden.

“ I don’t know Ben… Benji. I can’t tell you how you felt. But I can tell you that a lot of us are worried about you being holed by yourself up in here. It’s not good for you to be in a small space on your own like this for so long. Especially after the Isle.” This wasn’t entirely true. The others were scared of some retroactive revenge, Jay thought he’d be okay up until he became a water collector. And it was an even bigger lie that Ben was trapped in a small space. His prince dorm was very large with a huge bed a special shower room and large foyer with a mini kitchen and high ceilings with large windows. Spoiled pretty boy. “ I won’t be alone if you stay with me.” Jay stiffened and looked back down to the tearful man still clinging to him.

His hazel eyes refused to move from Jays and Jay was sure if he made any attempt to move from his grasp Ben would rather strangle him than let him leave. “ Okay Benji, I’ll stay. We can talk.” Ben sighed and sunk his head back into Jays chest still refusing to let go. “Thank you.” Eventually Jay managed to move them to the huge ass bed, his legs were getting tired and yet Ben still wouldn’t let him go. After sitting in tearful silence with his head rested on Jays shoulder Ben started talking again. “ I… I don’t want to be alone.” Jay laid his hand on Ben’s arm. “ Ben we’re in our twenties we have all the time in the world.” Exasperated Ben pushed his head up, still refusing to let go he glared up at Jay.

“Easy for you to say you meat head. I’m a gonna be king, people are going to be all over me in the media asking about my royal spouse!” He was cute when he was fussing about something silly, he’d always do that during game practice. “ So what dumbass aren’t you the prince? Just execute them!” Jay scoffed. He really wasn’t a very helpful, they should’ve sent Evie. “ No you goof!” Ben twisted onto his knees on the bed and completely turned to face Jay. “ That’s not who I wanna be! They all believed that Mal would be my queen and now I’m alone and I don’t know who I could possibly… I don’t want to be alone!”

Ben pushed into Jays arm and was getting teary eyed again. “ I thought… I don’t know why I tried to marry her… it’s only been a year? Audrey was awful and I saw a way out… but I still really appreciated Mal. No I… I…” The tears were flowing again. “ I miss Tourney. I wish I was Captain again, but I spent all that time with Mal. I always felt guilty when I was with her. “ He was rambling now and Jay wasn’t sure what to do. Ben was practically pinning him to the bed. “ Jay I don’t want to be alone, I don’t want to be a bad ruler.” Jay wasn’t sure what to do but look stupidly at the pretty prince bawling his eyes out all over him again.” I don’t know anymore, I just want to go back to playing Tourney with the guys. I miss Tourney and I miss you.” That last part hit Jay like a truck.

The tearful hazel eyes were boring into his with so much intensity Jay was staring to falter. “Ben don’t cr-“ And then most startling event of that night. Ben smashed lips onto Jays. It was sudden and shocking to Jay but he leaned into it. Ben moved his hands up Jays arms to his shoulders and around his neck. Bold ass prince. Jay reciprocated and bent his hands to Ben’s waist as they deepened the kiss. Ben tasted like a salty ocean and his lips were soft and just as talented as Jay figured they were. The kiss hadn’t yet fuzzed his brain fully and he pulled away. “ Are you okay Ben? This is. I don’t wan-.” He drifted off as he looked at Ben. His face was still wet but his skin was flushed pink. His eyes though, were heavy lidded and he was breathing heavily before he spoke. His eyelashes were sparkling with tears and his eyes were red from crying. He was still so pretty, Jay was sure he wasn’t that pretty when he cried.“ You don’t mind this do you.” Ben moved his hands down Jays shoulders to his arms that were still holding on tightly to Ben’s waist. It was a complete 180 and Jay was confused and sure that he was just as flush as his friends. “ I… yea… No. But you were just crying, I don’t know if you need this.” Ben kissed him again slowly and moved his lips to Jays cheek. His heart was faltering and he couldn’t exactly remember what he was meant to be doing. “ I do need this- if you’re okay with that.” Jay was nearly mush, this was sudden… but he understood where Ben was coming from. Jay had only just in the past month realized that his feelings for his nemeses was t just hate. But it was too late, and here was his close friend just like him, lonely, and gorgeous, coming on to him harder then anyone had before. Was it too soon, and what was right and wrong, was fading out of his mind.

It was gone from Ben’s mind too the moment he made the choice to kiss his friend. They’d deal with whatever consequences after they regained sensible thought. For now though this was good. Jay moved Ben’s face from his cheek and pressed his. Lips back onto his. He was completely pinned by Ben on his soft huge ass bed. Ben’s hands moved back to the top of Jays shoulders and in turn Jay moved back to his waist. He felt a tongue testing the waters at the edge of his lip and he let it in immediately. Savoring the taste and melting further into the kiss. Exactly how far was too far wasn’t really on their minds. How they let it get this far that weren’t concerned about. Running from what was truly ailing them, they sunk further into the other’s lips and let sensations override their systems. They both indulged into the fuzziness that blurred rational thought and consciousness and continued on.

Waking up the next morning Ben was straddled atop Jay, who was expecting some sort of talk on how it couldn’t happen again. Ben woke up and looked staight into warm brown eyes surveying him. Jay poised himself to speak but Ben kissed him before he could get anything out. Sliding down Jays cheek as he spoke “ I had a nice time last night, it really cleared things up for me… if you’re okay with it… we could do it again?” Jay considered this. His friends had asked him to check and make sure they wouldn’t all be thrown out of Uni. If this was the way to ensure their sense of safety… he couldn’t say he didn’t like the feeling. It was so intense he almost couldn’t trace the pain of Harry that lingered in his mind. Why couldn’t he finally have someone to himself like his friends. He could. He leaned into another long kiss. Ben sighed in relief and returned the kiss before Jay pulled away to give a proper answer- “I could get used to this.”

Yeah that’s like, the inciting incident for a whirlwind of a relationship. If you think it happened so fast… yeah that’s how it felt for them too bro. There’s missing elements from unreleased outlines I have, up until now there’s tension and flirty elements to the way they would talk and hang out before this happens. That’s why Ben says he misses Jay. And Jay figures out that his hatred of Harry was actually an intense crush ,but Uma and Harry had their own thing happening leading up until the seaside battle for Ben. So they’re both having intense revaluations and Ben decided to push out those feelings by coming onto Jay who he already had a small bro crush thing with. So it’s a little unhealthy but they think they need it. Will they work through it?? Who knows. Well I know but I’m not saying after that long ass post.

I mean I think most people agree that Uma is morally correct so even though she'd be an automatic answer she doesn't actually qualify. And I think most people have come around to Audrey so I won't say her either.

Boring answer maybe but. Doug? I've seen people getting real worked up about him in D2 and it's like. Yeah he jumped to conclusions really fast about Evie cheating on him or w/e but that doesn't mean he's a possessive asshole. like come on.

do I love Huma? yes. Do I also ship Audrey/Uma and Uma/Ben? Absolutely.

Non-linear thoughts on the Dove Cameron bad wig cinematic universe Disney Descendants:

Why is everyone in all of these movies so horny like… all of the time. In every scene. What is the reason.

Where’s Waldo except it’s trying to find someone in these movies wearing gloves with all 5 fingers.

Every character is bisexual except for Evie who is the dictionary definition of compulsory heterosexuality and the fact that she ended up with a man is a war crime.

however. jaylos is obvious fujoshi fodder and i can't say i disagree, they're cute. they're fun. i like to make baseless conjecture about the platonic depths of their relationship. yes i did write fic about them once dont worry about it

ben/carlos is so silly and i love it as the not like other fujoshis option. honestly i am a huge fan (at least in the first movie) cause look at them!! ben treats carlos with such gentleness he must never have experienced before. carlos looks at ben with such hope in his eyes. it's cute. it's whatever.

once again, i love carlos/jane so sosososo much as best friends i do not romantically ship them but i platonic ship them so hard

similar situation with lonnie and jay (as we see in descendants 3(?)). theyre bros. love them

i dont ship mal with anyone. she has no chemistry with ben i'm sorry i want to root for them but they do nothing for me. they could be equally as compelling as friends who make it despite the odds and learn to care for each other.

okayyyy evie/doug is adorable though. i was gonna say especially in the first movie but actually i think this is one of the best written het ships in the whole franchise. so cute. are you kidding? What Hobbies do you think the aks and vks would have?

Ben: Doing....kingly...stuff....Okay, just kidding. Reading. Belle is his mother, after all.

Lonnie: Swordfighting, fencing, tourney...

Doug: Also reading, but nonfiction. History, science, and such. Also studying, Doug actually enjoying learning.

Audrey: Planning events like Cotillion, talking with other girls her age, doing her hair and making, shopping for fancy dresses or even just looking at them, knowing all the styles.

Jane: Planning events like Cotillion, reading, studying, having conversations with one or two people at a time who don't make her nervous, practicing her magic.

Chad: Tourney, swordfighting, basically anything that Audrey's doing.

Mal: Painting, spraypainting, the occasional bout of causing mischief...

Evie: Doing her hair and makeup, taking tests that she's studied for and knows she knows the answers to, spending time with her friends.

Carlos: Playing with Dude, computer....stuff, electronic...stuff, inventing things, fiddling around with electronics to make them even better, studying, reading up on things he's interested in, occasionally sketching the odd design for a jacket or something. (He's his mother's son, after all, even after everything.)

Jay: Pickpocketing (which he returns to the owner, yes, Fairy Godmother, it's just the challenge of it that's exciting), gifting small things to his friends (that he bought with his own money, which is part of why he likes it-he doesn't need to steal for them anymore), tourney, spending time with Lonnie, that R.O.A.R. thing.

Uma: Spending time with her crew, specifically spending time with Harry, planning revenge on Mal for The Shrimpy Incident, sailing free on the ocean, swimming.

Harry: Sailing, fighting, doing anything as long as it involves his hook ("Hey, I bet I can juggle my hook and a bottle of rum at once! Watch me!"), spending time with Uma, occasionally spending time with his sisters, fighting with his sisters, listening to the stories his father tells him and whatever his father teaches him whenever his father actually pays attention to him, threatening people who insult Uma.

Gil: Enjoying nature, fighting as long as no one actually gets hurt, avoiding his brothers, spending time with the crew, doing exactly what Uma tells him to.

Dizzy: Doing people's nails and hair, talking about different kinds of hairstyles, hairstyles and....nail polish things...(I know nothing about this), making people look pretty - basically she loves everything about her job except the cleaning up - clothing styles, spending time with Evie.

Celia: Telling people's fortunes, tricking people, the occasional bout of pickpocketing, learning how to use her magic.

Squeaky and Squirmy: Spending time with their brother Sammy and their father, spending time with the Hook kids, learning how to be sailors and do....sailing stuff (I know nothing about this either.).

Freddie Facilier: Learning how to use her magic, singing, spending time with Celia, getting what she wants, not having people be afraid of her.

Zevon: Experimenting with potions and of course using them to try to take over Auradon, spending time with CJ (while they plot how to take over Auradon again), arguing with his sister.

Harriet Hook: Being in charge, having people listen to her and do what she says, not have to deal with whatever it was CJ just got herself into, sailing her ship, having time to herself, reading poetry.

CJ Hook: Explosions, crazy plans that will probably fail, spending time with her siblings (not that she'll admit it) climbing the rigging, sailing.

What's the WORST Descendants novel you read and why?

Escape From The Isle Of The Lost. No contest. At least with Rise, I could enjoy the Sea Three and honestly, they took up a good chunk of the book, so it was pretty okay....only problems I had was uh, Mal's writing and uh, FGs writing....and the way Mal won and the ending with Mal and co. That's it.

But Escape? Pure. Torture. Would not recommend this to even my worst enemy. The core four are ruined in their writing and made into privileged fucks who LITERALLY during the book even, eat nice food brought from Auradon....while staying in their Isle apartment...I....what??? The self-awareness??? Where??? Especially when Celia comes in and see's the food and they just give her a doughnut??? And just, the fact that they keep preaching about Auradon Prep and they shove the decision to apply to Auradon Prep ONTO the kids when they KNOW the villains will be scaring their kids into not applying, but no, its down to the kids to choose to apply to leave an abusive Isle so if no one leaves, its their fault they didn't apply. And like, again, they only seem to be targeting 13-18 for Auradon prep, but not like, above 18 who either could go to college still or choose to make their own life's or below 13's because again, can't go to Auradon Prep. Like, they straight up isolate some of the VKs cause of this.

And I just, the fucking judgeiness of the core four. Especially with Celia??? Like, she barley does ANYTHING around them and they act like bitches to her and its just, fuck off. I hated their writing in this book. They basically became privileged fucks with zero understanding of the Isle and putting all responsibility to want to leave an abusive Isle onto the kids themselves and even saying the kids have to earn the right to leave basically. Like, what the actual fuck? Oh and don't get me started on what they did to make Mal look 'good'. In order to justify the sudden hero worship of Mal in D3, they gave her traits from Ben, Evie, Uma and Carlos in Escape and made BEN, I repeat, BEN, the one who limits the number when Mal suggests a large enough. Yeah, the same Ben who wanted to bring VKs in the first place. Yeah, they make Mal look good via ruining his character, and its just chief's kiss when they have the posters be suggested by Doug and it be said who wouldn't want to be like Mal. Like....kill me.

And yes, they adapted Under The Sea to this stupid book and its actually worser in book form and they even added Harry flirting with Mal just because they had to appeal to people who for some reason ship a ship where the guy can't stand the girl for what she did to Uma and even threatened her with a hook in Descedants 2. And oh god, they actually made Uma also bitchy for no reason??? Like yeah, Uma could be bitchy in films, but not the levels she was in this book??? She's just out suddenly to kill Mal. No mentions of freeing the Isle kids, just pure murder motives now, just to again, make Mal look good. Oh and this book thanos snapped Hadie out of existence just to make Mal Hades' only child, cause apparently Hades cant have two kids??? And this book acts like future neglectful father of the year is somehow okay cause he blocked Uma off at the end from returning to him after trying to kill Mal but like, bitch you partook in this plan- you also tried to kill Mal later on in D3-

And I just...I hate the stupid ending where yes, they graduate and Mal STILL keeps that lie about why she did the love spell going. Because telling the truth is an allergy to Mal. And the graduation is also aired to the Isle to encourage kids and I'm just, yeah- would love to see the privilaged fucks in Auradon while only four of us get to leave the Isle and we have to earn the right to leave/prove we good enough WHEN THE CORE FOUR DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT WHEN THEY LEFT-

Like, if it ain't obvious, this book unlocks a-lot of rage within me and I'm probably STILL forgetting shit but these are the main points of the book I hate and was a definite killing point for these books.

My first Harry Hook x reader!!! I don’t know if anyone’s even going to read this but it was fun to write. :)

summary: y/n returns to the Isle of the lost to help save Ben with the vk’s and Lonnie, she tries convincing Harry to go back with her with no success and after that she thinks that she’ll never see him again. Months later Harry successfully jumps through the barrier with Gil to find Auradon under a sleeping curse.

 “Hey, can you pass me that book?” y/n asked Harry, he threw it to her watching as she packed for Auradon. y/n was one of the vk’s that had been chosen to attend Auradan prep-to say she was excited was an understatement. It was her dream to go there.

“You goin’ ta miss me lassie?” Harry asked with his infamous grin.

“Of course, who else is going to call me lassie?“ She asked, imitating his accent while saying the word ‘lassie’.

Harry chuckled before dropping his smile “How long is this goin ta last?” He asked. The truth was he was scared of being separated from y/n for so long-terrified even, she was one of the few things that made the isle more bearable-but he’d never admit it. He was too prideful. He was pretty sure that he was in love with her.

“It’s only for a little while.” She told him, getting closer to the boy. “There’s a plan to steal the fairy godmother’s wand and take down the barrier.” She whispered, “We’ll see each other soon.” 

“hmm” He thought, wrapping his arms around y/n pretending to think. “Ok, don’ you keep me waitin’ too long.” He told her resting his forehead against hers. He tried to kiss her but y/n pecked the corner of his mouth before backing up. “Always a tease.” He complained, making y/n laugh. 

“I’ll see you soon.” y/n said once more but before she could leave, Harry caught her wrist, pulling her back and planting his lips on hers-capturing her in a passionate kiss. 

“Don’t be gone fer too long.” He told her, bringing her into a hug. 

“I-”��    

“y/n! Get down here already!“ A voice came from downstairs.

“That’s my cue.“ she said kissing Harry’s cheek. She backed up, holding his hand and let go once she was a few steps away. “Don’t miss me too much.“ She joked.

“I’m more worried about you.“ Harry shouted back once she was out the door, he smiled to himself when he heard her laugh-secretly wishing that he could go with her. 

(days later)

“Harry y/n’s on tv.“ Gil shouted, pointing to the small screen behind the counter. Harry had just walked into Ursula's Fish and Chips, but once he caught a glance of y/n on the tv he walked over quickly to watch. “Oh the wand!” Gil exclaimed with a mouth full of food, “didn’t you say that-”

“Shut ye mouth!” He snapped, raising his hook in the air. ‘This is it’, he thought. Once Mal grabbed the wand. ‘The barriers coming down’. 

Then Maleficent showed up and the vk’s changed their minds-betraying their parents trust and crushing Harry’s hopes. 

And the rest of the isle kids were still stuck on the isle.

(present time)

y/n stood behind Mal watching as her friend and Uma argued. Her eyes scanned the pirate ship-recognizing a few faces before seeing Harry with Ben on the plank. “Mal, whatever you do it’s gonna be a lose-lose, there’s gotta be a better way!” Ben’s voice rang out. Harry and y/n made eye contact for a moment before she turned away. 

In truth Harry felt betrayed-y/n had hurt him more than anyone ever had. She had promised before that the wand would be taken and the barrier taken down, but it seemed that she had changed her mind-choosing to stay with her friends and have a perfect life in Auradon-dooming Harry and everyone else that was still stuck on the Isle. “Silly king!” Uma yelled out-ripping Harry away from his thoughts-“You? Give me? You're gonna give me a chance? Well, not a chance!”

After a little while longer the wand had been handed over and turned up being a fake-that’s when the fighting between the two sides began. y/n was on the ground with a pirate pointing their sword at her-when the sword was knocked out of their hand. Jay helped the girl up, pushing the pirate off of the ledge and into the water. “You ok?” He asked and she nodded, taking the sword that he held out to her. “I know this is hard for you.” He told her-referring to Harry, “try to stay up here.” 

Well she had tried, but she was now closer to the ship than she had intended-trying to get to the exit where her friends were. “y/n!” Harry’s voice came from behind her. She looked over-spotting the pirate struggling to get out of the water.

“y/n come on!” Mal shouted from somewhere behind. 

y/n ignored her friend, reaching down to take Harry’s hand and help him back onto the wooden dock. He looked up at her and the two stared at each other for a moment. “Come with us.” y/n said out of nowhere, making Harry chuckle. “I’m serious.” She pleaded. 

“I’m not leavin’ Uma and Gil behind.” He told her before sadly adding “not like you left us.”

Her mouth opened in disbelief, “Harry I-”

“y/n!” Jay’s voice rang out, “come on!”

y/n looked back to her friends. “Stay.” Harry said, taking y/n’s hand. “Stay with me.” His blue eyes were pleading and this was the most vulnerable y/n had ever seen the boy. She put her other hand over his, squeezing it. 

“I can’t.” She whispered.

“y/n!” Jay called again.  

“Harry you can come with us, Uma and Gil and everyone else too. Come with me..” She begged holding his hand, he let go looking down. “Please.” y/n whimpered-feeling tears well up in her eyes. “We can have a better life in Auradon-a happy life please....I love you.” That was the first time either of them had said that.   

He silently watched her for a moment, looking at the ground-he didn’t have to say his answer.

y/n’s eyebrows furrowed as she bit her lip. “Harry...?” She asked with a breaking voice, “Harry.”

“Yer friends are callin’ ye.“ He croaked. “Just leave-it’s what yer good at.“

“But...“ 

“y/n!“ It was Carlos’s turn to shout her name this time. y/n looked back to her friends then to Harry-debating what to do. A purple color bomb came out of nowhere suddenly-blocking everyone’s vision. When it cleared y/n was gone.

Harry had lost her a second time. 

(months later)

“Don’t worry Jane, I’m sure Carlos will be here.“ y/n told her friend, putting a hand on her shoulder. “He’s probably just running late.” 

Jane glanced at her friend, offering a nervous smile. 

Carlos however was going back to the isle with the other vks, but y/n of course didn’t know since she arrived extra early to Jane’s party to help with decorations, and the vk’s were in a rush to get Hade’s ember. 

“I just don’t don’t get what’s taking him so long...“ Jane said with worry, “are there birthday parties on the isle?”

“um..“ y/n glanced at her friend “if by birthday party you mean eating stolen cake with dirt and flies then yes...“ She chuckled, making Jane giggle as well.

“um y/n?“ Jane asked staring up the hill.

y/n looked to where Jane was starring, gasping when she saw a pink mist covering the place. It started to make it’s way down to where the two girls stood. “Don’t let her see you!” y/n warned her friend upon seeing Audrey. 

“The enchanted lake! Come on!” Jane told y/n, taking hold of her wrist and pulling her towards the direction of the water. 

“I don’t know how to swim.”

“It’s fine-we just need to get deep enough to bend down into the water.” Jane reassured her. y/n nodded, submerging into the lake. They waited a few moments until Audrey disappeared before coming back up.”Was that Audrey?” Jane asked with a mix of confusion and worry.

“With maleficent’s staff.”

“And the crown!”

“We need to warn people!” y/n told Jane, getting out of the water.

“Let me just fill this water gun up with the lake water. Who knows, we might need it.”

“Knowing the vk’s, they’re probably on top of this already.” y/n told Jane-who had just finished filling up the water gun. “Come on, we should go look for them.”

The two wandered around the woods for a while before making it to Evie’s cottage, “Let’s check here.” Jane told y/n, she nodded in agreement.

With a bobby pin from Jane’s hair, y/n picked the lock after nobody answered the door. “I think that Doug was here-“ The door opened, revealing Audrey standing in the cottage-scepter in hand, with Chad beside her. On instinct y/n swung the door open wider-hiding Jane from Audrey’s view. “Audrey you don’t have to do this!” y/n told the girl, staying put, “just wake everyone up and I promise-”

“Promise me what?” Audrey snapped, “There’s nothing you can possibly offer me that I want!”

“Audrey.” y/n said carefully “I don’t know why you’re doing this, but you can fix it.”

“I don’t want to fix it!” She hissed, “I’m having the time of my life.” She added with a laugh, “you on the other hand, won’t be so lucky. Chad let’s go!” She boomed.

“Wait Au-” but it was too late. Audrey hit the scepter against the floor board and began to teleport. “Sweet dreams...” Her fading voice cackled.  The same pink mist from earlier surrounded y/n, making it’s way to her. 

“y/n!“ Jane called out, taking a step closer.

“No!“ y/n yelled, throwing her arms out to stop Jane from getting to close. “don’t waste the water on me-“ Then she fell to the ground asleep and the pink mist disappeared. 

“y/n!“ Jane yelled, rushing to her friend’s side. She looked around in a panic wanting to cry. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes and stood up. “Don’t worry y/n.” She whispered, “I’m going to drag you into the house and then find everyone else.” 

It didn’t take long for Jane to lay y/n on a couch. She had just carefully laid y/n’s head on a pillow when she heard a roar coming from the woods. She had followed it and found Carlos, Jay two other boys she didn’t recognize, and Ben in beast form. She didn’t have to think twice before spraying him with the water from the enchanted lake. After a happy reunion with Carlos Jay spoke up, “Jane do you know where Audrey went?”

“No but y/n-”

At the mention of y/n, Harry’s head snapped to look at her. “ye know y/n?”

“...Yeah.” Jane nodded, “she’s my friend.”

“That’s Harry and Gil.” Jay told Jane and she nodded.

“What about y/n?” Carlos asked.

“She’s under the sleeping curse.“ Jane explained, “Audrey showed up out of nowhere and cursed her before leaving!”

“y/n’s under the sleepin’ curse?” Harry almost yelled. Normally he didn’t act emotional, but he was worried now.  “Where?”

“At Evie’s cottage.” Jane said, “come on.” The group made it to Evie’s cottage with no trouble, finding the girls there too. They had their short reunion and Mal ran into Ben’s arms. Harry however went straight for the door. 

“Where is she?” He asked almost losing his temper. Uma knew exactly what he was talking about and nodded her head towards the cottage, leading the way.

Harry froze for a second after seeing y/n fast asleep on a couch. He creeped forward-as if a sudden movement would disturb her. “I should’ve been here.” He whispered, kneeling down beside her. “I’m sorry-I drove you away and now yer-”

“Hey Harry.” Gil called from the doorway. 

“Can’t ye see I’m havin’ a moment?” Harry yelled to the boy.

“Well yeah but...why don’t you try kissing her?” He asked.

“An’ why would I do that?” Harry asked looking up aggrivated. 

“Well you know..true loves kiss.” Gil told him with a smile as if it were obvious. “Uma said it works every time.”

“It does.” Uma said from beside Gil.

“Well it won’t work this time.” Harry whispered.

“Why not?” Gil asked confused, “don’t you love her?”

“Course I love her!” Harry snapped, looking back down at y/n. “But she’s gotta love me too, and I doubt she does after how I acted-I hurt her.”

“She hurt you too, but you still love her.” Gil said. 

“Why don’t you just try?” Jay asked.

“I can’t.” Harry told the boy, “what if it doesn’t work?” He closed his eyes-he didn’t think he could bare it if it didn’t work.

“She loves you.” Jay told the pirate, “I don’t know why since you’re kind of a jerk-” he stopped talking when Harry glared at him. “But she does and I don’t think she’ll ever stop.” 

“If you don’t try you’ll never know.” Uma told him, patting Gil’s shoulder as a hint to leave.

Once they were alone Harry looked down at y/n sighing. He pulled a strand of her back with his hand, softly caressing her cheek. “Please work.” He whispered. He leaned down closing his eyes and pressed his lips against hers softly.

Nothing happened. 

Harry looked away sadly, “I’m sorry lass.” He said-about to cry.

But he didn’t see her eyes flutter open. “Harry?” y/n asked confused, Harry’s head snapped in her direction and his mouth opened in shock before a smile formed on his lips. 

“y/n!” He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around the girl. “It worked!” 

y/n hugged him back laughing, “what-what are you doing here?”

“I jumped through the barrier before it closed.” He laughed resting his forehead against hers. “I love ye y/n, more than anything.”

y/n smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck again, “I love you too.”

favorite season: Replacing this with movie/book etc. D2 is probably my favorite from the movies, though the movies I largely hold 😬 emotions about. I have a love-hate relationship with Desc canon. Out of the books, probably book 1 as it's kinda the darkest, most realistic they get (which is kinda saying something. Again, love-hate relationship).

favorite episode: I watched about 20 minutes of the animated show before I broke down in tears

favorite romantic ship: Core4!! I have many emotions about the core4. Also the sea3. Desc is one of my major multi ship fandoms.

favorite family ship: Found family counts for this right? Because if so, it's also the core4 but platonic. Again, very multi ship, I love reading the core4 as both romantic and platonic.

favorite friend ship: The Audrey & Mal true frenemies friendship we deserved.

worst ship: Evie/Doug. I'm sorry, Doug had SO much potential in the movies and they did nothing. And their relationship is sweet but I just feel like it could've been SO much better.

AGREE on EVERY point! Also, a point that Audrey's fans tend to overlook is that she basically se*al harasses Ben! When he is engaged at that! Reverse the genders and that 'guy' would be called a predator in a blink! And that is before she turns Ben into his worst fear, which she knew about, as you said! Also, Audrey. Threw. A. Coup and put people's lives in danger becuse her ex I repeat EX boyfriend got engaged to someone who wasn't Audrey, and she's the one owed an apology?! Neither Mal nor Ben owe Audrey anything until she shows genuine remorse instead of the simpering line 'please tell me it was a dream, boo hoo.'

And its clear that descendants writers support toxicity if they consider it a good idea to supposedly make a toxic ship like Devie a True Love. As you pointed out, Ginny the answering yes to stalking but also the accusing Evie of cheating not even listening to her and showing no concern for her after explanations. Laughing at the fact that Evie is near tears when she thinks the kiss doesn't work! This girl is supposedly your true love, Doug, and you're laughing at her sadness?! Furthermore, I thought True Love couples were supposed to be rare? D2 already established Bal as one now you're just slapping the label on any couple that has a lip to lip kiss? But then, I guess the writer's baby Evie must have everything Mal does. Honestly, to me, it just proves that Doug faked being asleep!

Your unpopular opinions on Descendants?

Oh boy, here we go. I fully expect to be excommunicated from the fandom for this...

-Mal gets too much hate from the fandom, especially for her D1 actions. I get she's not a perfect character (especially concerning some of her actions in the books) but the fandom seems to be too willing to forgive Audrey for her actions in D3 because of what Leah said to her and yet ignore Mal's line regarding her and her friends/allies fate if they didn't get the wand:

'Oh no, we are definitely goners'

As well, Mal was raised in a hostile environment--yes she had a slightly better life on the Isle being Maleficent's daughter but she still lived on the Isle just like Evie, Carlos, and Jay did. As well, she's lived her entire life trying to be her mother. She's not going to just flip a switch because she's away from her abusive environment.

-If anyone's a Mary Sue, it's Audrey. I've seen way too many people say Mal's a Mary Sue because her mom's Maleficent and her dad's Hades so that makes her OP but the most powerful magic we saw her do was her dragon transformation. Meanwhile, Princess Never Use or Have a Drop of Magic in Her Life is suddenly using Maleficent's scepter to the point where she can curse people with it? Enchant boards and suits of armor in other locations?

-Evie. And. Doug. Should. Not. Be. True. Love. I will die on this hill--people call Bal toxic because of the love potion and the attempted memory wipe, but they ignore 'Are you stalking me? technically yes' and Doug's actions in D2 should have removed the True Love label from Bevie, especially since stalking's a real-life issue that I really can't believe was turned into a joke (but then again HSM2 introduced kids to workplace harassment without realizing it)

-This is a petty one but where's Mal's, Jay's, Carlos', and Evie's thank you for facing off against Maleficent? These are a seventeen-year-old, two sixteen-year-olds, and a fourteen-year-old facing off against The Mistress of All Evil and there's not a one on-screen thank you? In Wicked World, Mal even had to remind people she 'turned [her] mother into a gecko for you people' when she was accused of CJ's mischief before the Neon Light's Ball/when Ben got captured.

-On the subject of Wicked World...tie it in better with the movies. Especially season one. It...was completely pointless and both seasons could have been used to bridge the gaps between movies

-Audrey should not have been the wedding planner for Mal and Ben's wedding. I'm sorry, it's a cute idea and all and calls back to how Audrey planned Cotillion in the years before D2 but planning someone's wedding should not be an apology/trying to get back into the kingdom's good graces after not only throwing a coup but knowingly turning your ex into his worst fear.

-Also I liked the private ceremony. I thought it was more 'Ben and Mal' and fit their characters!

So yeah...those are my unpopular Descendants opinions!

Okay, I know I've said this multiple times but Evie really be that homegirl you can ship with anyone 💙 and as a writer it makes it impossible to choose who I'm shipping her with in my stories

Like give me Mal and Evie (pure fluff who are totally oblivious to their feelings) or Audrey and Evie (my angsty, clueless bamf), Evie and Harry (yes, the shenanigans ), Jay and Evie (my dumbass with his genius), Evie and Carlos (pure nerds), Evie and Uma (Queens of Commons Sense and no time for anyone's bull), Evie and Ben (perfect couple), Evie and Chad (she makes me better), Evie and Jane (let me take care of you), Evie and Lonnie (sword lesbian wives), Evie/Anyone (you compliment each other)

The only couple that I'm not convinced is Evie and Doug and its not cause they don't have chemistry, i even tolerated them in D3...I just don't like Doug and its not cause he's not a prince or because he's a nerd but the boy admitted to stalking her in D1 and accused her of cheating in D2!?! I can't see past that and I'm sure Evie wouldn't be able to either, just sayin
