Seeing the dead: Contrary to popular knowledge, everyone is able to see dead people to a certain extend. It is known that only "mediums" are clearly able to connect, see and talk to the dead, but even with mediums, they aren't able to contact everyone. "What materials do you use?"

By far the questions I get asked the most are about this, so this will get very long and I'm going to put it under a readmore. I will address the papers, inks, watercolors, dip pens, brushes, and other materials that I have used.

I also answer questions about my materials under the "my ninja tools and scrolls" tag, and give art technique advice under the "my jutsu" tag. Yes it's silly, but this is a Naruto art blog. this is what we all signed up for.

Mostly, this will be a list of my traditional materials. I will address the paper, pens, inks, and various types of watercolor that I use!

📄 PAPERS: 📄

—Strathmore 400 Series Heavyweight Drawing Pads 100lb/163gsm. (these numbers refer to the weight/thickness of the paper. thicker paper is less likely to buckle) ———> This paper is extremely cheap (a 9"/12" pad is often under 10 dollars), takes inks EXCELLENTLY, but it's a much lighter paper, and it will buckle under watercolor. For this paper, it's good to only paint small sections, to paint very slowly, or to paint with the paper taped down to another surface.

—Fabriano Hot Press (Hot Press means the paper is smooth, not rough) Watercolor Paper, 140lb/300 gsm ———> I use this paper the most because it's fairly cheap to buy in bulk, while still being good enough quality that my picky watercolor teacher approved it, Lol. I can usually find a 9"/12" block of it with 50 pages for about $20 if i look hard enough—and the paper is hardy enough that if I'm careful, I can paint on both front and back of the paper. Bad for archival purposes maybe, but great for having fun and not spending more money. [Example]

—Vision Cold Press (Meaning the paper is rough and textured) Watercolor Paper, 140lb/300 gsm ———> My watercolor teacher said this stuff was garbage, but...I don't really care! It is DIRT CHEAP and YES it buckles a little despite being thick, and YES it feels like cardboard in your hand, and YES it ONLY comes in coldpress, but the texture is grainy and even and nice... and like. when I say dirt cheap I mean dirt cheap. I used to get the 6"/9" 30 page pad for like 6 or 7 bucks. [Example]

—Arches Watercolor Pad/Block, Hot Press, 140lb/300 gsm ———> This is that expensive shit. I got a pad of it for a class back in college, and I dip into it now and again—I also bought a little bit more when there was a sale recently, a 12 page. It's 100% cotton, and it takes pigment based watercolor REALLY well, but it's not so good about dye based (I'll discuss the difference between those later) [Example]

🎨 WATERCOLORS: 🎨

DYE BASED:

Dye based watercolors, because they are based in dyes instead of pigments, are not lightfast. They are not archival. If you expose them to sunlight, they will begin to fade, and some will fade rapidly. That said, if you hoard your art in a dark place once you've documented, go hog wild! The fact that they're all liquid already makes them really easy to use.

—Ecoline Watercolor [Liquid] ———> These are a little watery, but they are cheap and easy, and I used them for the majority of my early watercolor art on this blog!

— Dr. Ph. Martin's Radiant Concentrated Watercolors [Liquid] ———> They are expensive, and sold in small quantities. They are, however very bright, like that label isn't lying! They're super concentrated! I have not actually run out of any of the ones that I bought (at a store closing sale bc otherwise they're too expensive lol) because they only use a small amount at a time

— Dr. Ph. Martin's Synchromatic Transparent Watercolors [Liquid] ———> They are also expensive, and also sold in small quantities. They aren't really made for paper either. They're fine. Probably not worth it though!

PIGMENT BASED:

—Black Sheep Art Supply's Pans And Half Pans! [solid watercolor] ———> These have been very enjoyable for me to work with!! They're very bright, affordably priced, and the paints are from a small business, as well as being handmade and from the first Black-owned art supply store. I've had wonderful experiences ordering from this store, and I wholeheartedly recommend them!

[EDIT: apparently the shop is on a break or something! oh well]

—Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus [liquid watercolor] ———> These are liquid watercolors, like the dyes, but they are archival and somewhat light-fast, which means they can be exposed to moderate amounts of sunlight without fading. I haven't gotten to use them much yet, but they seem fine. You do have to shake them a lot to mix the pigment in. They can also be a little difficult to rewet, and may appear somewhat flaky.

—Turner Professional Artists' Watercolors [tube/semi liquid] ———> These are watercolors stored in tubes, you know, the traditional way! I used these for class, back in college. They're cheap, but well pigmented as far as cheap watercolors go. If you're really on a tight budget, this is probably the best pick.

—Holbein Artist' Water Color [tube/semi liquid] ———> My best friend (the one who got me into naruto!) gave these to me! Usually they can be very expensive. They're very high quality, and gorgeous. I'm so enamored with them and touched by the gesture that I use them very rarely, I don't want to lose them! They're special to me!

✒️ INKS: 🖋️

I only use permanent inks which will not bleed (much) when water is applied, due to working in watercolor. This list will reflect that

—Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay Black India Ink ———> I use this the most frequently. It's a little shiny, but not too bad, and it is completely waterproof once dried. Of the Ph. Martin inks, it's the cheapest by far, and a 1oz bottle (which lasts me months) can be found for about $5. —Dr. Ph. Martin's Black Star (Matte) Ink ———> Very waterproof, does not shine much at all. If you record your art with photography rather than scanning, this may be useful to you! Unfortunately, it's about $10 a bottle. —Dr. Ph. Martin's Black Star (Hi-Carb) Ink ———> Very waterproof, very shiny. I don't use this much because I don't like my ink to shine, but it can be very nice with the right application. Unfortunately, it's also about $10 a bottle.

—Yatsumoto Sumi Ink ———> you can get this stuff cheap. Like, you could get a 12oz bottle of it for like $12. That's very cheap. Unfortunately it's not completely waterproof, and if you agitate (rub the brush vigorously) over the ink, it may seep into the watercolors. If you're careful though, this won't be a huge problem. It's also good for ink-only work.

—Liquitex Acrylic Ink ———> This is also very waterproof, but it also takes longer to dry than the other inks, so I find myself smudging it a lot. It's also about $7 for a 1oz bottle, but about $20 for a 5oz bottle, so if you're committed to the ink, it can be cheap to buy in larger sizes.

—Diamine Registrar's Blue-Black Ink ———> Expensive. Really more of an interesting find than a practical ink for me. This is mostly waterproof, but a very thin ink, and you can feel the nib get scratchier when drawing with it. That's not a bad thing, it's just a textural thing. It's produced in a similar way to medieval inks, with iron and oak-galls, and because of this it has some interesting properties: When first applied to paper, it's a pale or sky blue, but it darkens rapidly as it dries, becoming almost black over time. It runs the rusk of corroding metal pen nibs due to its chemical makeup, and so nibs which use this must be washed extra thoroughly.

✍️ PEN NIB HOLDERS: ✍️

—Speedball Sketching Pen Set: ———> Easiest to get your hands on. Comes with two nib-holders and 6 different nibs to try out, available at most art stores, and usually around $10. It's also not bad quality—I don't use the tiny little nib-holder any more, but I use the standard black one all the time.

—Tachikawa Comic Pen Nib Holder, Model 40/ Model 36 ———> My Favorite. Thank god it has a little rubbery thing around it, because I grip pens hard 😭. It is able to hold standard-size AND small-size nibs. Occasionally, I find that some "standard-size" nibs might not fit, but I've never had this issue with the small size nibs.

Honestly, those are my favorites, but it's really hard to go wrong with pen nib holders. If they fit comfortably in your hand, and they hold a nib, they're good!

🖋 NIBS: ✒️

Nibs are difficult to acquire. They can be expensive too.

— Speedball ———> If you want to get a variety of nibs to experiment, this is my first recommendation. They have a wide variety of nibs to experiment, and find out what your favorites are.

—Tachikawa Pen Nibs ———> They've got less robust options than Speedball, and a little more expensive too, but they're very good nibs! The G-Nib is the standard nib used in comic making, and especially for lettering. It's a very stiff little nib, so it doesn't flex too much. This makes it pretty reliable, and especially good for lettering/writing.

—Manuscript Leonardt Pen Nibs ———> A lot of options for everything from caligraphy to cartography to sketching, also a little expensive—what is notable is that their pen nibs tend to be on the more flexible side, allowing the artist to get a lot of line weight variance. This is bad for lettering, but fun for drawing! They also have pens shaped like hands. Neat.

—Brause Pen Nibs ———> These were always super expensive where I was. I got a few. They come in this dorky plastic case with a sliding top, and I kinda wish they didn't bc that's a whole lotta plastic for something that coulda been stored in cardboard or paper, lol. I now use the cases to hold perfume samples. They're good pens, they're just expensive and the packaging is dumb.

—Whatever the hell is on Etsy. ———> People love to sell vintage things on etsy, and pen nibs are no exception. Often, you can find random samplers of pen nibs, or collections of pen nibs for sale. Sometimes you can find a whole box of one kind of pen nib, often times with a lot of nibs in it. I once bought one of these for like $45 and i don't even regret it because it's got a shitton of nibs and I realllly like using them. It will literally last me the rest of my life.

🖌 Brushes: 🖌

I don't have a lot to say about brushes! Ultimately, if it makes a mark on paper, and you like the mark it makes...I think that's a good brush.

I've been told you should go for ones which hold a shape, I think, and don't spread out in a big puff. Ones which use animal hairs are apparently best, but they are also very expensive. Generally, with watercolors, you will want to use "round" brushes, especially for beginners. If you want to experiment, I recommend Filberts, but there are also sword/dagger brushes if you're painting something like grass. Mostly I use:

—Creative Mark Mimik Kolinsky: ———> As the name implies, these are meant to mimic (synthetically) brushes made from Kolinsky fur. These are nice and I like them. They're cheap, but hold their shape well, and feel good in the hand. —Creative Mark Mimik High Performance Synthetic Squirrel Hair Watercolor Brushes: ———> What a name. I find these to be just as good for me as the Mimik Kolinsky, but a little bit cheaper. As long as ur careful not to treat them too roughly you'll be fine.

—Princeton Watercolor Brushes ———> Good. Expensive, but good. They have a variety of synthetic + natural materials, they are well made, if you have a little money to throw around + want a brush which will preform very well but will not destroy your bank, this is a solid brand. I've used ones from their Velvetouch, Mini-Detailer, and Heritage collections before, and enjoyed them all very much.

Additional Supplies:

—Porcelain Palette ———> I highly recommend using a porcelain palette instead of a plastic palette, both because I like to cut down on plastic when I can, and because the porcelain palettes are just....so much more convenient. The glass-like coating means that they will be easier to clean, whereas all of my plastic palettes over the years have gotten permanent stains. They're a little harder to accidentally knock around because they're heavier, which probably isn't a problem for most people, but I can be kinda clumsy. I can't tell u the number of times I've sent a full plastic circle-palette of watercolors flying lol

i could write essays about post-canon them, because, yikes, vegas, if porsche finds out you sent men to kidnap porschay from hum bar? chay? that could have and would have been hurt if kim didn't kill those guys? ufffff. and then vegas seeing porsche with his father's ring, the same ring that bruised his cheek so many times now on kinn's boyfriends hand? and YES yes yes vegas probably learns how amazing it is to not have to compete with kinn and be "the second" (he is first to pete and to macau which all that matters), and just be vegas, instead of 'vegas of the minor family'. but also, i keep thinking about minor family's compound and how vegas walked through it, and you could tell his people respect and love him, he felt so appreciated there, the small bows and 'khun vegas' they gave him. these were people that saw him, that feared him, admired him, people that worked for minor family, were loyal to them, and porsche is taking all of that from vegas. (except in my head he doesn't really, porsche is so over his head, and he needs vegas's help, and korn might have planned to put porsche as minor family's head to end the rivalry (but does he really? he is the one who thinks competition is good? so why end it?), and move vegas off from his chess board, but porsche is a rebel, he picks vegas and asks vegas for help because who else would know things better than vegas. porsche doesn't trust vegas further than he can throw him, he knows how vegas feels about being second in the second family, but porsche also knows that he needs vegas to secure his hold, and he knows that vegas needs to feel useful and needed (another headcanon, when vegas says "i have nothing left", he doesn't discount macau or pete, it just means "i have nothing to give to you, pete, why are you here still when i am useless"), and porsche can give vegas that while vegas figures out his life with pete and how pete does not need anything else from vegas but vegas himself).

and you know, maybe they will never be best of buddies, but i can totally see post-canon vegas who loses everything but gets to have pete, and post-canon porsche who in a way, also lost everything (his dream of opening a bar, keeping chay safe, escaping mafia life at some point) and gets to have kinn, realizing that they are in some ways two sides of the same coin, and hey, if you murder enough people on adrenaline rush missions together, and you race each other on expensive ducatis for fun, you sort of kind of can call them a friend? maybe?

(honestly, i am just weak, i want everyone to be happy, so please vegas manipulate me into believing you can actually care about people other than your new family.) oh, shit, i just realized how long this is, i am gonna send this non-anon way, so you don't need to answer on your blog if it's too much. :D

no you hit the nail on the head with this!! i think the main reason i'm so obsessed with the vegasporsche dynamic is that trust is something neither of them can really afford. porsche even says as much: "i don't trust you. i can't trust anyone. even the main family, i don't trust any of them." that last part is really the key here, since the thing that goes unspoken is "i can't afford to trust kinn right now". and oh boy, that is a WILD thing to admit to the guy who has spent his entire life in competition with your boyfriend lol

still, that isn't even the part that really gets me. no, the thing that really gets me is exactly what you pointed out: the lack of manipulation on vegas' part. dude had the information to do SO MUCH DAMAGE.. but he didn't. he didn't even gloat over the fact that he's the only one porsche can turn to (one-upping kinn btw!); he just went "well, i wondered what kinn couldn't help you with, and now i know". and then there's "i'm glad that you thought of me" .... well. *adjusts clown wig* i think that that was completely genuine, in the same way that most of the motorcycle scene seems genuine. call me crazy, and i know the fandom talks both sides all the time, but EYE personally think that vegas has a real fondness towards porsche. whether it's due to his sheer honesty and naïveté, or whether it's just "oh he's so easy to exploit uwu", that's up for interpretation. but that's my opinion there :D

there's also the fact that in this conversation (bc clearly i have many thoughts on this scene), vegas doesn't try to talk porsche away from kinn's side; in fact, he essentially does the opposite! porsche asks if he knows anything about his parents, and vegas' response is: "i know nothing. and i don't think kinn knows about it too", followed up with the line about being "blinded by the adults". so basically HE'S GIVING KINN THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. he's talking about the fact that he and porsche are both pawns in this game, but kinn is also brought up directly in that context. "he probably didn't know either, since he's not really in charge." and thinking about this from a typical vegas manipulation point of view, wouldn't it be better to let porsche doubt kinn? wouldn't he be a perfect tool at this point, turning to you while incredibly vulnerable, admitting he can't trust the main family? why didn't vegas take advantage of that?? we don't have clear answers anywhere, but i guess that just adds to the ✨ flavor ✨

Blog Introduction and Age Regression Information

Hello and welcome to my very first blog about Age Regression ! I educate about Age Regression on many other platforms , you may recognize this username from TikTok , Twitter , and Instagram . My main Instagram where I am most known , is Babybatsdomain . My main goal for this blog is to be able to educate others on all things Age Regression and those related . I want for the newer people in the communities to be able to have a source to go to  learn about these topics that they may be  unfamiliar with , this is also good for those who’ve been in the communities for a while and need a refresher  , and of course anyone who is just wanting to learn is always welcome here .  

The first topic that I will be getting into is , ‘ What is Age Regression? ‘ If you search up Age Regression on google or youtube you will find many, many results, but I am here now and informing you on the real deal . I am tired of seeing so many misinformed people spewing their opinions instead of sharing the actual facts, so let's get into it, yes ?

Age Regression is a mental defese mechanism or and can be a coping mechanism for some, it is when someone of any age mentally reverts into a younger state of mind, usually because of trauma but can occur under any circumstance . It is usually involuntary but can be voluntary for some depending on the person and why they are regressing . 

The first question that people usually ask about Age Regression when they find out about it is , well , what does that really mean ? ‘ Mentally Revert into a younger age?’ To be short , it means that mentally you become a younger version of yourself . People that Age Regress can regress into many different ages , it all depends on the person and their circumstance . One person may regress into a toddler and the other older or even younger than that . There are no rules on what age you must regress to  be a valid Age Regressor . But Age Regression , at least the form that I am referring to , is when you go back in age, not forward. 

The second question people seem to always ask, is , ‘is Age Regression sexual?’ The reason the majority of people who are new to the topic ask that is , well , because of how skewed the media has become now that almost everyone with the tech is on it and posting their opinions . That means that pedophiles and all sorts of sexual communites and unsafe people have been posting about things that truly don’t concern them for as long as they could . The answer to that question is an absolute NO . Age Regression is not and has never been sexual . Now I cannot deny the fact that some people have sexualized it themselves , but just like I mentioned earlier, gross people love to interject themselves into things, communities, topics, that don’t at all concern them . 

The third frequent question that is asked is , ‘ Well , how do I know if I Age Regress?’ It’s very simple and yet so complicated all at the same time . Think of it as the same way you would if you thought you had the flu, you count and detail all of your symptoms and make a list of them , easiest to deal with to the most difficult . Based on your symptoms , you either do or don’t have the flu . The same goes for Age Regression , except it may be different for you then it is for anyone else because only you know what being a child was/is like for you  . I can only help you some in this department , but let me go ahead and give some examples :

Crave childlike things , such as children's toys , stuffed animals , pacifiers , ect .

Have a problem using the bathroom on yourself 

Feel younger , babyish 

 A very simple way to figure out if you Age Regress is , to write down all of the reasons you think you may be regressing and then talk to a therapist about it who is knowledgeable on Age Regression . 

The Fourth most common question I’ve received on Age Regression is, ‘ What causes Age Regression?’ And the most common answer you’ll receive  from anyone is Trauma, although there can be many other reasons why someone will regress  . I can say from my personal experience and some of my peers, that our Regression was caused specifically by childhood trauma .We got traumatized at a young age and because of that we didn’t get the childhood that all children deserve, but it had it’s bad side effects, one of them being ‘ Growing up too soon’ . Other causes that I've heard of are : Enduring trauma later in life , stress , constant strain on the body , fear , insecurity , PTSD , BPD , ect . Please keep in mind that this goes mostly for involuntary regression , people who voluntarily regress all have their very own reasons for doing so and depend on the person . 

The fifth and final question that people often ask is , ‘ Is Age Regression healthy?’ The simple answer is , It depends on the person . You see Age Regression has been a thing for a very , very long time, but serious studies about it and articles that are 100% trustworthy are frankly new, as in , they’ve only been done within the past ten years or so , at least from what I’ve seen . From my own personal experience , I can say confidently as well  that my own therapist has also informed me that as long as it isn’t harming you in any way , then it is healthy . There are so many bad things that people could be doing or experiencing , but as long as you’re okay with it and managing it and it isn’t hurting you or anyone else , then regressing is okay for yourself and others . 

Some things that I would like to make clear before I end is ; No , Age Regression isn’t sexual, Yes , you can regress into any younger age, No , Age Regression isn’t always a choice but can be . 

So overall, I hope you learned something new today and if you didn’t, then I hope you can share this with someone who will! Please be careful on what you read on the internet about Age Regression, there are many misinformed people out there trying to spread their ‘knowledge’ and I would hate for you to take in something that is dangerous. Please stay clear of anything like DDLG, ADBL, CGL, Age Play, NSFW Little, those are all corrupt versions of Age Regression. I will talk all about those later on!

Anons are not worth your mental health or the pleasure and community you derive from fandom.

"But some of my followers are shy!"

They can create an account that they can use just for doing asks. Exposing you to abuse and bullying should not be the price of someone being shy. I have also turned on anons when someone has asked me to via DM, in a post comment, or via an anon comment on my Ao3 so that they could send me an ask without unmasking themselves. This protects me and protects them.

Tumblr recently started requiring a valid email address to send an anon without being signed in. This could be seen a couple of different ways - Tumblr wants some sort tabs on people using their site anonymously, or that they want people sending anons to create an account. There is nothing to stop an anon from creating a burner email account in order to harass, so that only goes so far.

Block anons. I am serious. Just go into your account settings and do it. You can even turn off asks entirely.

Per Tumblr: "Anonymous asks are not associated with a specific account, and blocking those will block the IP address of the sender."

So, if you block an anon and someone suddenly disappears from your followers, or you get a follower asking why they can't see or interact with your blog, then you have your answer as to where your anon bullying might well be coming from.

However, isn't it easier to just turn off anons?

Yes. It is. My anons are kept off 99.9 percent of the time and I sleep just fine.

Hi! I’m the anon that shot y’all an ask about PCOS and intersex stuff. Took me a minute to figure out how to word what I’m trying to say, and I am sorry if this is long and kinda rambling. I’m very new to all of this and this I am not 100% sure exactly how to ask this. I thank you now for your patience with me.

So basically, I am wondering if I have an intersex condition or an intersex variation of PCOS. Basically, as apart of getting diagnosed with PCOS, my doc ordered a full hormone panel for me. From my understanding, PCOS comes from your body reacting to having higher levels of testosterone then what is considered normal. My lab results came back and I was either in “normal range” or lower then “normal range”, depending on the test. I wasn’t on any hormone treatment at the time either. Despite this, I still have almost all the symptoms of hirsutism/hyperandrogenism.

There are other things too but I’m trying to limit the size of this ask, so the smaller things can be ignored. If you want or need more context please tell me, I’m happy to share whatever! I just don’t want to spam you with information.

I guess the TL;DR: is that my body is hyper-reacting to the underwhelming amount of testosterone that it has/is making and I’m not sure what to make of this.

As far as the questions I have, would it be incorrect for me to think and/or say I have some sort of intersex variation of PCOS? Is there any other condition that I might have instead? Would that even be worth looking into? Is there anything that would be important for me to know given that I am just starting to learn about all this?

This is interesting, and also not the first time I have heard of tests coming back with low testosterone yet still showing traits of hyperandrogenism.

I'm not the person who knows most about PCOS, but I didn't want to leave this here unanswered for too long. From what I do know though, is that our bodies all react differently to different levels of hormones, and our personal hormone balances look different than other peoples, so your body could still be manifesting those traits from what levels you do have.

You could possibly have other variations like NCAH, which we have a lot about on this blog. I'd look into all the other causes of hirsutism, some are not always intersex related but are just as normal as intersex. People grow hair for all different kinds of reasons, and certain types of hair are affected by hormones (hormonal hair is usually chin/upper lip, stomach, etc. While other hair can be congenital -on top of the head- or terminal -eyebrows, arms-). I'd say if you are worried for your well-being then YES look into this more! There can be so many factors, and sometimes it's just good to know. If you are fine with it and feel good/okay about your body and health, then you don't have to look into it if you don't want. Could maybe try doing another hormone panel after waiting for a bit just for comparison and peace of mind.

There's so many stories I have read where people show aaaall the traits, but never get diagnosed because the test just can't find a reason. This is fine, a lot of people self-diagnose for this reason too, or some people say they are intersex because there's just no other explanation. Maybe the medical industry just is not knowledgeable enough or functional enough to know more about different kinds of bodies yet.

I wanted to make this a reply, but it was to long so I am asking instead. Basically I wanted to say Thanks. About Jaune, you are asking the kinds of questions I asked when I did specultions about him.

It always felt to me like his parents were doing that whole “shelter with ignorance” trope thing and ended up breaking his self-esteem in his process. But if that’s the case it begs the question of “what are they sheltering him from?”

And you can tell I probably but WAY more thought into this then I needed to. (But you seem to be the type who like me likes to overthink things) But he and Weiss have always been my two favorite characters

On a different note, and something I think you will probably get new use out of what about in world curses? Often there’s a link between what is sacred in a world, and what kind of curses they use. For example in The Stormlight Archive people often curse by the Stornfather as he is associated with divinity. This lends itself to a hilarious moment in the the third book when one of the main characters, Dalinar, who has by then bonded (it’s a sort of magical partnership thingy) said Stormfather via the series magic system ends up cursing, and confusing his bond partner who thinks he was calling his name.

Dalinar: Stormfather!

Stormfather: Yes?

Dalinar: Sorry, that was a curse.

So besides cursing by the two brothers what else do you think people would curse by in Remnant?

You’re welcome! Real quick, just as a side note—much as I rag on Jaune, I actually do like him. Despite the fact I frequently use him as a verbal punching bag, he’s not a bad character. He’s just a character that the writers don’t seem to know what to do with. It’s hard to make a good case for Jaune whenever the writers fail to make him interesting or relevant to the plot. More’s the pity, because the potential’s there. Someone like Jaune could have been used to explore the POV of a non-combatant in this setting (something which the show sorely lacks, since it exclusively follows the perspective of trained warriors who can navigate a monster-filled world with relative ease).

“What are they sheltering him from?” would have been such a neat question to explore, had the show bothered to flesh out Jaune’s motives with respect to his lack of fighting skills.

And yeah, you’re not wrong. This blog’s existence is basically a thought exercise that got out of hand.

I actually know that scene from The Stormlight Archive (despite never having read the books). It’s one of my favorite tropes, and I wish more people used it because it’s seriously funny.

Come to think of it, it’s a bit strange that series like The Elder Scrolls don’t make use of it more often, since the Daedric Princes are very much real, tangible entities. Sheogorath in particular feels like someone who would gleefully make those sorts of jokes, given his partiality to breaking the fourth wall.

But back to RWBY.

I can’t image that modern humanity would swear by the Brother Gods, since knowledge of their existence (or at the least, worship of them) seems to be something exclusive to the first iteration of humans. I mean, the only two people alive who actually know about them are Salem and Ozma. Unless Salem and Ozma actively went out of their way to reseed those ideas among the general populace, it seems unlikely that belief in the brothers would have endured into the present day.

Qrow also mentioned that religion’s been on the decline in recent years (V4.E8), so there probably wouldn’t be many religious sources to swear by. Mind you, I think that’s a load of nonsense, since the show never provides us with in-world reasons for why religiosity has trended down. I’d be willing to bet money that the writers only came up with that answer because they didn’t want to say that religions exist, and then have to put in the work to make them.

The only real evidence we have of religions in Remnant is throw-away details. In the V4 Character Short, when Ruby passes through a recently-destroyed village, we see a church-like building with a statue of a woman outside of it. Ruby and Yang have both used god figuratively (V1.E3), and there have been at least two instances where a character said by the gods (V4.E3 and V5.E2).

And then, of course, there’s Tyrian, whose religious fanaticism seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

That doesn’t really leave us with a lot of room for interpretation. But we’re not entirely out of options.

One idea which I’m partial to is swearing by the Maidens. Even though knowledge of their existence has faded with time, myths about them still exist in the form of folk stories and fairy tales. It wouldn’t be a stretch if people swore on them out of habit or tradition, regardless of whether or not they actually believed in them.

One such swear in the Redux is Maiden’s tits. It’s basically the equivalent of Merlin’s beard.

I collect names like cool rocks, you can basically pick and choose on which ones you use to refer to me on any given day, I don't really care. He/it/xe exclusively (for Yomi), and yes, they/them IS misgendering can you not pleaseee *looking at you with my big wet eyes*. On a similiar note, I'll prefer to not be referred to with any feminine terms like ever, I don't care if it's a joke/slang/whatever. "girl" isn't gender neutral guys what the huh I am going to become the joker

Yomi Hellsmile fictionkin* in like, the serious/metaphysical way. (Can't believe Yomi got real and is now prowling around somewhere in the bowels of eastern Europe that's so cool right). That's also why I drop the I/me oftentimes whenever I talk about Yomi, in case you were confused about that.

I'm generally pretty hesistant to interact with people that also call themselves kin (and especially "kinnies"), as I'd rather not involve myself with the kff crowd or other people that treat being fictionkin as an extension of fandom, and unfortunately I can't always tell whether somebody is using it in good faith or not, but I don't like to assume things about people based off of very limited information like a few posts, either. Very often I have trouble with memory and articulating myself and whatever I write may end up looking a bit weird or just near incomprehensible and unfortunately there's nothing I can currently do about it. While I love receiving them, I might take very long to forever to actually answer an ask due to either low energy or anxiety. Also sometimes I can't read sarcasm or playful rudeness. Don't expect me to understand or tolerate it when you start insulting me as a "joke", my autism & NPD wombo combo makes me really hurt by that sort of stuff. Or just. Hello hello! Here’s my currently unofficial master-post! My name is Clover, (she/they ig 😕) and this is my main blog where I reblog a bunch of stuff I like! My tags are actually pretty unique to this blog! Here’s an example or two: The tag “ew” refers to the ROTTMNT comic called “Emperion Weeping,” and the tag “swanny boi” refers to another Rise comic called “Swanatello.” Idk if that’s the comic’s official name but that’s the one I remember.

I do this for originality purposes and so that it can just fit my blog’s personal style. It’s relatively the same for my other side blogs as well!

Uhhh so the thing that put us out of commission is over...and the crash after that is over...and now I'm just tired tbh. I feel like I used this as a "hey am I a system?" blog and now that every single answer I've gotten by any system I've asked is "yes" as far as I can recall I don't know what to do with it anymore

Well it's nice to have for venting but I've found I don't have the energy to vent lately lol...I could see if the others want to post art and stuff on here? I know someone did a really awesome piece of art yesterday they might want to share? But other than that idk

Feelings of faking haven't been going away so maybe I can use this as like a...a journal? Of sorts? To keep track of everything and reassure myself? Because my current journal got soaked >.>

Oh, fun thing I've discovered. Brain is highly metaphorical. But I think I knew that already.

So. Yeah. Idk. Hopefully will be in school soon so maybe I can use this to try to keep track of what happened at school (partially so I and others don't forget, partially for comfort because school's stressful)? But that might be too much to put on the internet unless I wanted to be vague about it. Then again I haven't exactly been vague here. Hm. I'm not good at this internet privacy thing, am I?

I've found we have more alters than I'd like to admit. Uh. Which I guess I should've known based on the number of "imaginary friends" I had, but. Still. It's a lot. And every time something new happens I feel like I'm faking and if I tell anyone they're gonna tell me I'm faking or at the very least mistaken and the shred of comfort I have right now is going to just vanish because it was never real in the first place. Dammit. Trying to stop doing that. It's uh...not working very well. But I've been informed it's harmful so I'm trying my best to stop doing that. Trying. I uh...don't know how.

I guess there should be a point to this, huh? Or can it just be useless rambles? Hm...I'll just keep rambling and see where it goes.

Jessica is gonna be a Vampire for Halloween. Which is great for her. She loves Vampires. We found a great dress for her. I think she'll be over the moon when it comes. :) Her birthday's also in 10 days so I feel like I should get her a gift? Even though we share a body? The innerworld is uh...annoying...for me, so it'd probably just be easier to get or make something from outside. Maybe a bat charm. She likes those.

And if she doesn't front imma be an elf. Which is me anyway. But, still. Basically I'll dress up as myself. Getting used to those elf ears, but they're awesome for relieving some of my general dysphoria of existing.

I think there's a couple people that help comfort for sadness and in the dark (I'm scared of the dark for several reasons), so that's nice. :) Though one of them keeps tricking me and it's quite annoying to figure out when void's pranking me or actually telling the truth.

We're hoping to move out this March. Hoping. Hoping so much. Probably not. But hoping.
