Time to start marking info in the non-fiction books I got

#this is for fic research #fanfic research of all things #red is high priority for the project #yellow is medium #orange is for possible relation to what I’m writing #blue is (most likely) unnecessary but they’re things I want to come back to #as I read along I’ll probably mark other things within the book to come back to so this is just the skeleton #time to get into the others and do the same thing #probably delete later

Progress Update: Trying to Tread Water

Here's your fortnight update, though I think we can safely say three weeks is the soonest I'll ever have a chapter out given my schedule.

I've been able to work steadily, so have a bit over 5,600 words currently (pending editing and cuts) so I'm going really well in that regard!

And for context of how extremely I underestimate how much I'm going to write for each scene, all of those 5,600 words, plus a bit more I've got to do, and the entirety of the last chapter, were in my notes as the first 1/3 of Chapter 40...

Yeah.

So this chapter is either going to be huge or I'm going to have to separate out some ideas and increase the chapter count again, lol.

But I'm used to doing that by now and no one has complained about me exploring things in too much depth yet, and I've gotten pretty good at making those sorts of adjustments quickly, so it shouldn't delay the chapter update.

*edit* Also finally got that Chapter 40 research post up!

Other small updates:

Everyone in the household is over their colds and I've been getting enough sleep! I even got to go to art class yesterday morning and did a really expressive painting with mostly sponges. It was very good for releasing stress!

instead of making the nether taller they should just put the existing nether upwards and then fill the underneath section with a new Deeper Dark biome that links to the overworld via ancient city portals.

#make it composed of like. obsidian and crying obsidian with streaks of tuff+deepslate and a new rock called voidslate #voidslate would have stalagm/tites like dripstone #also a new liquid called soul lava or smth... and fireflies but they're like vex and evil and fucked up #also nether portals wouldnt be able to be lit in the deeper dark BUT ancient city portals would be analog to 16x distance in the overworld i #also the main mob there would be a sort of warden/enderman fusion type mob called the Prisoner and it'd be kinda like a giant spider but wit #with six very long legs and a huge body that looks kinda like an upsidedown ghast mixed with a hoglin/cow #give it six eyes too - 2 big orange ones - 2 medium yellow ones - 2 small white ones #and like its body would be covered in a sort of mossy fungus that slowly pulses betweeen reddish and bluish like crimson and warped trees #also it should sound like the massive anglerfish from outer wilds mixed with like... the ghost leviathan from subnautica
