their bedroom’s got wispy, white curtains. there’s a red acoustic guitar in the corner. two pairs of slippers. two bathrobes -- yellow (finn), blue (toby).

toby’s bedside table has “empty cigarette packs, half a bottle of gin, and a york peppermint pattie wrapper”. finn’s has an old-fashioned alarm clock, and a frame with three photographs in it, containing: finn (35) and toby (27) in london, toby leaning his cheek to rest on finn’s head, 1976 (top), greta (8) and june (6) painting on easels in the living room, 1978 (middle), finn (17) and danni (20) -- his sister, june’s mom -- on a beach on the fourth of july, 1958 (bottom).

Mainly because she doesn’t want to scare Bellatrix– or make her flinch again. She’s not entirely sure Bellatrix has even noticed that Rita has gotten so close to her. Rita isn’t used to being soft, not with anyone, but even less so with Bellatrix. She isn’t used to Bellatrix being quiet. She isn’t used to not knowing what to do with her hands.

Once upon a time Bellatrix would show up in Rita’s fireplace, always late at night, and Rita would throw herself at her in lieu of a greeting. Or she would take her hand and drag her straight to the bedroom. They’d claw and scratch and touch before they’d even say hello. Her lips would suck bruises onto Bellatrix’s inner thighs before they’d form words. Her voice would come out in gasps and moans and pleads before she’d ask about Bellatrix’ day.

bear with me i wanna explain cause this is blowing my mind actually

so to bonana, fray/esteem initially represents his original personality, [redacted], who he wanted to hide from everyone bc she represents everything "wrong" with him. shes mean and critical and intensely unhappy, she runs from everything and avoids responsibility, shes incredibly spiteful and holds grudges and is all around unpleasant to be around. but despite all of that, she still holds onto a kernel of hope that things can get better

and that seed is what became bonana. he, as a personality, is everything she wasnt. hes outspoken, hes brave, and strong, everybody loves him and it seems like anything can wash over him. but he was born of naivety, and wasnt made to weather what was coming. it wore him down over time, always being that shining hero to everybody with complete disregard to his own health until by the very end of shb he was a stressed out husk who still had to keep going. ive already said a lot about what specifically happened but whats important is that bonana (the personality) effectively dies by this point, and the rest is [redacted] slowly coming to terms with all that

so basically this is bonanas truest sense of self trying to take back control before his idiot self gets hurt. but like i said it all goes over his head because hes just not ready for it yet

shocked but not surprised glamourer didnt apply to esteem so the duty incidentally made some really poignant imagery of endwalker bonana facing off with arr bonana, who are on technicality two very different people
