today's bunnies were drawn in front of a live studio audience !

he isn’t the biggest fan of parties. 

he could think of so many more things he could be doing other than mundanely chatting with acquaintances and friends-of-friends. the loud music and shitty drinks make him want to puke his guts out; being sociable was never one of his strong suits, after all.

yet, just as he’s about to leave, he comes across the girl of his dreams. the girl he had been crushing on for the longest time, the girl in his biology class, sitting on a beat up sofa. 

his friend noticed his lingering gaze on you and interrogates. 

“looks like someone’s caught your eye.”

he turned around, his ears tinged with a blush.

“it’s nothing like that.”

his friend snorted and walked off, presumably to talk to another group of people. with his friend gone, his gaze returned back to you. your face glowed despite the darkness of the room. fluorescent lights danced across the room, and chatter is amongst the crowd, yet all he could focus on was your beauty. 

the thought of leaving the party has been abandoned, not when the girl of his dreams is right before him! he gathered himself up, realizing he was staring at you for far too long; long enough for you to possibly notice him. he turned on his heel and decided to get some water. 

with a bottle of water, he returned to the same spot he was at, looking down at the floor, the ceiling, anywhere but to you. as he was fiddling with his hands, he felt a tap on his shoulder. 

to his utter surprise, it was you, in the flesh. a shy smile was on your lips as you waved at him. 

“hey, you’re in my biology class, right?” 

you started the conversation, noticing how he froze up at your touch. he cleared his throat before responding. 

"um, yeah, i think so." 

he regrets his response immediately. 'i think so?’ what was he on about? he practically noticed you every time he walked into the lecture hall, your face radiant as always. 

you smiled at his response. 

"i was hoping you'd remember, or this would have been weird," you laugh awkwardly. 

the silence between you two was eminent, and he was desperate to break it. before he could speak, though, you started.

"uh- how's the party going for you?" 

he played with the water bottle in his hand. 

"it's alright, i guess. i'm not a fan of parties, my friend just dragged me here, so..." he trailed off. 

you nodded knowingly, agreeing with him. 

"i'm the same as you too, i'm here just because my friend," you point over to the couch, "brought me here." 

you softly laugh and lean closer to his body, your shoulders almost grazing. though the party is as loud as ever, and the lights are blinding, all he could feel was your arm leaning on his, your voice like a melody to his ears. 

maybe he'll start going out to more parties, if it means you'll be there.

Fool Me Once, 793 words, Riku x Iori, i7 shenanigans

“I swear to god,” Iori groaned, rubbing his temples as Riku followed him into the dorm’s common space, “every time you describe your brother as kind, an angel loses its wings.”

“What?” Riku exclaimed, his kicked-puppy expression glued to Iori and not the five other i7 members shooting him varying looks of concern and dismay. “But Tenn-nii is kind!”

A sudden, metallic crash drew their attention to the kitchen, where Nagi-san was flailing dramatically to the floor.

“My wings!” he cried, clutching his chest as he fell. “Riku, how could you do this to me?”

Iori and Sogo-san sighed in unison.

“Nagi-kun, we need that pan for dinner,” Sogo-san gently chastised.

Still lying on the ground with his eyes closed, Nagi-san picked up the pan and offered it in Sogo-san’s general direction.

Seriously, Iori thought to himself, how is this guy my senior?

“I-it’s not that bad! Really!” Riku defended. “He’s nice!”

Yotsuba-san groaned and fell to the floor.

Riku flushed a deep red.

“In his own way he is!”

“Oh no,” Yamato-san replied in monotone, slowly lowering himself to a horizontal position on the couch while he continued to flip through his magazine. “My wings.”

“Guys,” Riku complained.

“As a big brother myself,” Mitsuki began, ignoring Iori’s eyeroll, “I’m seriously concerned about your standard of niceness.”

“Didn’t you try to sell me, once?” Iori interjected bluntly.

Mitsuki waved away the protest. “I was like, three then. But now when my dear baby brother is upset, I- a superior big brother- make him pancakes in the shape of cute bunnies.”

“How come you only make the rest of us regular pancakes?” Yotsuba-san complained from his wingless position on the carpet.

“Now what does "Tenn-nii" do?” Mitsuki continued pointedly, heedless of the interruption.

“I know this one,” Sogo-san announced proudly before clearing his throat and drawing his features into something poorly resembling Kujo-san’s cold stare. “Nanase, who?”

“But-“

“And what does dear Iori-kun say?” Mitsuki prompted next, grinning widely.

“What?” Iori replied, narrowing his eyes in the face of so many sudden, teasing grins in the room. This felt like a trap. “We’re talking about-“

“Nanase-san,” Yamato-san said in a poor affectation of Iori’s voice, “I’ll make you a superstar!”

Mitsuki pretended to swoon into Yamato’s arms, effectively crushing the man and his magazine into the couch.

Iori frowned, ears burning. “That was-“

“Nanase-san, let me control you,” Nagi said next, reaching his hand out in front of himself like he was on the cover of a shoujo manga.

“You heard that?” Iori exclaimed.

Yotsuba-san laughed. “You said what, Iorin?”

Sogo-san began fanning his face. "Oh my."

“Nanase-san,” Mitsuki picked up next, rising off of Yamato-san to mimic Nagi-san's overtly romantic gesture. “You’re so cute. Ahem, I mean. You’re so stupid.”

Yotsuba-san gasped and pointed. “Iorin’s a tsundere!”

“I am not!” Iori howled. “And I don’t have to stand here and take this. Nanase-san-"

Riku turned toward Iori with wide eyes, his face only a few shades lighter than his hair, and Iori suddenly had no idea why his instinct had been to turn to him in the first place.

“Cat got your tongue?” Yamato-san teased.

“I’m leaving!” Iori declared, retrieving his keys from the shared bowl near the front door. The rainbow keychain he’d given Riku stared back at him mockingly.

“We’re making bunny pancakes for dinner!” Mitsuki reminded him.

“I’ll be back!” Iori huffed angrily, slamming the door behind himself.

Within the dorm, Riku stood frozen.

Tamaki wandered over to lightly fan his burning face.

“S-so…”

“Yay!” Nagi cheered, popping up from the kitchen floor. “Moment of realization!”

“So Iori-kun’s…a better brother to me?” Riku asked haltingly.

Nagi wailed and collapsed back onto the ground, various noises of exasperation and disappointment from the other members following suit.

Riku had to bite his lip to keep from laughing at them. Discreetly, he pulled out his phone.

Iori <3: are they done yet?

Riku: pretty sure, yeah

Riku: “brother” heh

Iori <3: gross. pls don’t make that a thing

Riku: it got them off the trail at least

Riku: tho idk why ur so set on telling ur parents first, obvi they can all tell already

Riku: and Mitsuki's literally ur brother

Iori <3: it’s called respect

Iori <3: and my brother deserves none. he finds out last. or perhaps never.

Riku: whatever u say, bunny <3

Iori <3: agahsjskdk

Iori <3: make sure they don’t eat all the cute pancakes before I get back

Yamato: Chương trình “Chào mừng đến với căn phòng tuổi thơ” mà tụi anh tham gia gần đây thú vị chứ?

Tsumugi: Vâng!! Hình ảnh dễ thương của mọi người nổi lắm đó!

Tsumugi: Thế nên công ty đã quyết định sẽ tham gia một dự án để fan có thể lắng nghe những câu chuyện tuổi thơ của mọi người nhiều hơn, tìm về cội nguồn đã làm nên con người hiện tại của mọi người!

Iori: Cội nguồn của tụi em ấy ạ?

Riku: Nghe tuyệt ghê! Cũng có những chương trình kể chuyện kiểu này ha!

Mitsuki: À, kiểu chuyện mà mình sẽ tám với một ai đó ngồi cạnh lúc đi taxi nhỉ! Kiểu như quan niệm sống hay sự nhiệt tình với công việc...

Nagi: Ồ! Các bài hát phát ở cuối mấy show đó ấn tượng cực kỳ luôn!

Yamato: Dù nói gì đi nữa thì lúc mấy bài hát đó vang lên trông mình vẫn ngầu lắm. Chúng làm câu chuyện của người nói nghe hay hơn bình thường.

Tamaki: Nhỉ! Lần tới em mà làm So-chan giận nữa thì ước gì người ta cũng phát bài đó!

Sogo: Hửm? Tại sao?

Riku: A, hiểu rồi! Nhờ bài hát đó mà những lời của anh Sogo sẽ vang vọng mãi trong đầu em đúng không?

Tamaki: Cũng đúng, cơ mà cái khoảnh khắc ảnh tha thứ cho em sẽ còn vang vọng hơn nữa.

Sogo: Sức mạnh của âm nhạc thật tuyệt vời ha…

Tamaki: Yeah! Sao không thử chứng minh luôn bây giờ?

Iori: Aaa…quản lý, mình quay về chủ đề chính thôi ạ.

Tsumugi: Vâng…

Tsumugi: Lần này không phải là chương trình có chủ đề cụ thể như vậy… chúng ta sẽ kể những câu chuyện dựa trên những bức ảnh thời thơ ấu của mọi người.

Tsumugi: Có vẻ Re:vale, TRIGGER và ZOOL cũng sẽ tham gia dự án lần này, nên nhà sản xuất mong rằng sẽ có một bữa tiệc thật thú vị với cả 16 người!

Sogo: 16 người…nhiều ghê nhỉ…

Nagi: Một con số hoàn hảo cho một bữa tiệc đấy chứ!

Mitsuki: Nhưng làm thế nào để nó thú vị được? Nếu tất cả mọi người cùng nói thì sẽ thành mớ hỗn độn mất…

Yamato: Đừng tập trung vào con số quá, Mitsu. Tụi mình cũng từng tổ chức mấy thứ như này rồi mà. Nếu nhớ không nhầm thì cũng chưa bao giờ có vấn đề gì lớn cả.

Iori: Đúng đấy ạ, anh hai. Ý em là, nếu chỉ nói về 7 người chúng ta…

Riku: Nếu gặp anh Touma thì em nên nói về cái gì nhỉ? A, không biết anh ấy đã xem bộ phim làm cả nước Mỹ khóc chưa ta! Nó chỉ mới phát hành gần đây thôi.

Riku: Nhắc mới nhớ, tại sao “cả nước Mỹ”（全米）lại dùng cùng 1 chữ kanji với “gạo”（お米）nhỉ?

Nagi: Hm…ở Nhật người ta thường nói có 7 vị thần trong mỗi hạt gạo mà. Những vị thần này đã khóc... đó có phải lý do không nhỉ?

Tamaki: Họ cũng có 7 người như tụi mình… khi nào gặp Isumin trong dự án, em sẽ khoe rằng tụi mình trông giống 7 vị thần!

Sogo: Tamaki, em có thể nói chuyện đó ở trường cũng được mà. Trong dự án chắc chỉ nên tập trung vào chuyện hồi nhỏ thôi…

Iori:…Đó thấy không...

Mitsuki & Yamato: Ờ há…

Yamato: Chà, nếu mọi người bắt đầu huyên thuyên bay sang cả vũ trụ khác thì nhờ Mitsu cho 1 cú Big Bang để reset nhá.

Mitsuki: Trời ạ, không biết em phải tạo ra vũ trụ mới bao nhiêu lần nữa đây... mà thôi, cuối cùng thì vẫn vui vẻ đâu vào đó ấy mà.

Yamato: Đúng đúng…

Mitsuki: Được rồi! Cùng cố gắng và tận hưởng project này nhé, cả 16 người chúng ta!

Mọi người: Yeah!

*Ở một quán cafe*

Riku: Iori, chương trình âm nhạc tiếp theo mình tham gia lúc mấy giờ?

Iori: 1 tiếng nữa ạ.

Riku: Oh, tuyệt! Thế vẫn còn thời gian! Anh có thể ăn thêm cái bánh ở quán cafe studio.

Iori: Gì cơ? Nếu giờ mà anh còn ăn thì tí không ăn tối được đâu đấy.

Riku: Đi mà! Anh chưa bao giờ ăn bánh ở studio cafe cả, anh muốn thử…

Riku: Xem menu này! Không phải trông ngon lắm à?

Riku: A, cái này còn có cả một chú gấu bằng sô cô la nữa!

Iori: Thật kìa. Dễ thươ-…khụ khụ. Ầy, nếu anh đánh răng cẩn thận trước khi ghi hình thì…

Riku: Yay! Được rồi, vậy anh lấy con gấu nà-…hể?

Riku: Mình thấy con gấu này ở đâu rồi thì phải… A!!

Iori: Sao thế ạ?

Riku: Anh nhớ rồi! Anh nhìn thấy nó trong bức ảnh của em! Trông giống con gấu mà em ôm trong tấm ảnh em mang đến show “Chào mừng đến với căn phòng tuổi thơ”

Iori:…đúng rồi. Khá giống đó. Nhất là mắt với mũi. Anh để ý thật đấy Nanase-san…

Riku: Ừ. Tại vì lúc Mitsuki nhìn con gấu đó…

Torao: Giờ còn đòi ăn bánh thì tí có ăn tối được không?

Torao: Nếu ăn thì nhớ đánh răng đàng hoàng đó, Haruka.

Haruka: Im đi! Anh tưởng anh là ai?! Bà tôi chắc?!

Riku: A, Haruka! Anh Midou!

Iori: Xin chào.

Haruka: A-ờm….chào…

Torao: Các cậu cũng đang nghỉ giải lao à?

Iori: Vâng, chúng tôi còn chút thời gian trước khi ghi hình.

Riku: Tụi tôi cũng đang tìm chỗ nè! Mình ngồi chung đi! A, đằng kia có 1 bàn 4 người đó!

Haruka: À không, bọn tôi…sẽ ngồi bên này…

Torao: Ầy, cứ ngồi chung với họ có sao đâu.

Haruka: Ờm…cũng được nhưng mà…

Riku: Ngồi với nhau như này vui ghê! A, Haruka cũng lấy bánh con gấu à? Ban nãy Iori với tôi cũng vừa khen nó dễ thương…

Iori: K-Khoan…! Em nói thế bao giờ! Em chỉ nói nó giống con gấu hồi nhỏ của em thôi!

Haruka: Tôi không chọn nó vì nó dễ thương nhé! Tại quán gợi ý chọn món này đấy chứ...

Torao: Thật luôn? Thế chắc cái câu “Ôi, dễ thương thế!” lúc cậu nhìn thấy cái bánh là tôi nghe nhầm nhỉ.

Haruka: A-Ai nói thế!! Chắc chắn không phải tôi nhá! Tôi chỉ muốn ăn sô cô la thôi!!!

Iori: Nhắc mới nhớ, hồi trước đến cửa hàng nhà tôi, cậu cũng ăn sô cô la trông có vẻ thích thú lắm.

Riku: Cậu thích sô cô la à? Ui, đáng yêu vậy~

Haruka: Không có nhé! Chả qua thỉnh thoảng động não xong thì tôi muốn bổ sung đường thôi…

Torao: Nãy ghi hình thì cậu động não cái gì? Chương trình vừa rồi là tập trung đám mèo từ khắp thế giới để xem video thôi mà?

Haruka: ...chậc! Anh mà là tôi thì kiểu gì anh cũng sẽ niêm phong hết mấy thứ dính đến từ “dễ thương” rồi chọn cách nói khác thôi...

Riku: Tuyệt thật đấy! Mỗi lần xem ảnh động vật tôi cũng phải thốt lên “Sao lại đáng yêu thế chứ!!?” Sau này mà ghi hình show nào như thế thì tôi sẽ tham khảo cậu nhé!

Haruka: Thôi khỏi, cảm ơn!

Iori: À đúng rồi. Chúng ta sẽ có một dự án ghi hình cùng nhau đấy, lúc đó tụi tôi sẽ học hỏi cậu!

Haruka: Giỡn mặt hả! ...mà, cái dự án cậu nói là gì thế?

Torao: À, chắc là cái show khám phá cội nguồn của mỗi người ấy. Giống cái tụi mình tham gia trước đây.

Iori: Vâng. Có vẻ mấy tấm ảnh và câu chuyện chúng ta chia sẻ trong chương trình đó đã trở nên nổi tiếng.

Riku: Ảnh hồi nhỏ của mọi người dễ thương lắm luôn!

Haruka: Ngay cả những người tôi không ngờ đến nhất cũng có một tuổi thơ đúng nghĩa…

Torao: Ý cậu là Yuki của Re:vale à?

Iori: Đối với tôi thì tôi nghĩ là anh đó anh Midou. Cậu bé mà anh cho mọi người xem trong ảnh với anh bây giờ trông như 2 người khác nhau ấy.

Torao: Bức ảnh đó chụp trước khi tôi bước lên nấc thang để trở thành một người đàn ông thực thụ đấy.

Riku: Nấc thang ấy ạ? Thế anh phải bước bao nhiêu bậc vậy?

Torao: Bao nhiêu bậc á…?

Iori: Ý anh ấy không phải vậy…mà thôi thế là được rồi.

Riku: Hả..! Anh không hiểu lắm nhưng cảm giác như em vừa biến anh thành thằng ngốc ấy!

Iori: Không hề ạ. Em nói nếu là anh thì thế là được rồi. Nó giống lời khen hơn đấy chứ.

Riku: Giống á... Aaa, nói mới nhớ, Iori hồi nhỏ trong ảnh cũng dễ cưng ghê luôn, cảm giác như cậu em bé bỏng ấy.

Haruka: Chuẩn! Không thể tin được người trong ảnh với cậu là cùng 1 người đấy. Nhìn cậu làm tôi có cảm giác như cậu đã mặc đồng phục học sinh từ khi mới chào đời rồi ý.

Iori: Gì chứ?

Haruka: Ý tôi là, cảm giác như Izumi từ bé đã biết đặt những vấn đề phức tạp cho thầy cô khiến họ phải đau đầu rồi.

Torao: Nếu thế thì giống tôi này. Hồi đi học tôi cũng gặp rắc rối suốt ngày vì các giáo viên nữ không nghĩ tôi là học sinh.

Riku: Đừng có thế chứ Iori! Sao lại làm phiền thầy cô vậy!

Iori: Anh nói cái gì thế? Đừng nghĩ em giống anh Midou.

Haruka: Có thể cậu không làm phiền thầy cô kiểu đó, nhưng chắc chắn cậu đã làm họ bị sốc! Tôi còn tưởng cậu sinh ra đã biết nói rồi cơ.

Iori: Sao thế được nhỉ. Tôi cũng chỉ hành động như những đứa trẻ mới sinh bình thường thôi.

FYI trigger (+pythag trio) is in Nagano, and i7 (+iori riku) in Osaka.
