That's nuts that China and Russia veto'd the US's shitty proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza because the proposal's broad language would ultimately still allow Israel to ultimately continue their crimes against the Palestinian people.
And we in the US are the 'good guys'. Okay, sure. Fucking Christ.

Continued from [x] with @bclasaeg
She noticed he had a different set. She was trained in noticing details, but Nunnally decided to keep it for herself. She only noted to herself to have a conversation with the maids. If she were to invite a person, no matter who they were, to join her for the meal, she expected her guests being treated properly. Being served the same china was the minimum requirements. But pretending she did not notice would – this time – spare the embarrassment to both of them.
“You should have a sit here with me.” – she urged him not to stand in front of her; that was not probably customary, but also not unprecedented, to have a lady and her shade to enjoy a meal together.
She blinked a few times surprised by his statement. Never invited for the tea? Was he telling the truth or was he trying to make her feel better? No matter. She would not learn the truth anyway.
“So, I am glad it was me.” – she simply stated instead of trying to find an answer to her question – “Have you…” – she hesitated – “Have you guarded many persons? You look rather young. Not much older than myself…”
Nunnally was curious. She knew her father was concerned, almost obsessed (but perhaps not without the reason) with her safety. Or rather with keeping her inside the golden cage. So she expected him to be skilled. Exceptionally skilled. She was also curious what make people like him risking their lives to protect others. Money? This did not seem like a reasonable reply. But who she was to know. She had always had it. or at least her father did.
“Do you know my name?” – she suddenly asked.
