Went to the Inter-City Cactus and Succulent show and sale today that's billed as the world's largest. There were some pretty awesome plants displayed there.

And like any plant show, I had to make a purchase because one, everything here was beyond cool, and two, I'm not likely to find some of these guys again. So meet my new poky friends.

It would be cool to have something to enter in a competition someday, just for the fun of it. But for now, my poky friends and I will just enjoy each other's company (and yes, the big purple one already stabbed me, so that's out of the way).

Trying to write a fic about Wyvern gargoyle culture is really fun and interesting, but oof, the no-names thing, in a prose-only format… can be a real struggle.

It requires one to get creative, and somewhat encourages one to keep the cast list as small as possible… but also it’s been a good exercise to give just a teensy bit of characterization and personality to some incredibly minor scene-filling OCs.

Blitzos the type of guy to go “YAY 🥳” when you whip out the boobies and honestly I NEED that-

honestly this is so cute and absolutely correct, so I had to write a lil something.

The groan Blitzø releases as he enters the apartment is by far one of his most dramatic, and it continues all the way to the couch. He flings himself face down onto the cushions, heedless of the blood still sticking to his clothes, his head tucked behind the arm of the couch.

"Fuuuuuck that guy," he grumbles into the cushion beneath him, and you hum an agreement, too tired to talk. The latest kill for I.M.P. had been a pain in the ass - literally for Moxxie, who had landed on a cactus during an unplanned fist fight at the cult compound you'd been sent to - but you still take the time to pull off your jacket and boots before following him further into the apartment. Him not having his own room was inconvenient, but you'd never complain considering why he went without. "We shoulda asked for double."

"If only someone had thought to suggest that beforehand," you smirk in amusement, and he flips you off without lifting his head. "You gonna move over? I ain't napping on the floor."

"Mmhm..." he mumbles, and despite his lack of any real response, you notice his tail switch back and forth slowly. He shivers when you reach out to stroke a hand over one of his horns gently. "Little spoon..."

You raise a brow, smiling widening. "Is that a request for you or a direction for me?"

He yawns, still talking into the pillow. "...Ass..."

"Ah. Me then."

He lets out a muffled chuckle, his horns bobbing as he nods. His tail pauses in its rhythm when he hears more of your clothes hit the floor, his attention apparently piqued despite the rest of him not moving.

"But I'm not cuddlin' up with you until you lose the bloody clothes, B."

"Demandin' bitch..."

You smile indulgently. "Yup. So lose it."

"Yeah, yeah..." he sits up enough to pull off his coat, perking up slightly as he watches you unfasten your bra and drop it to the floor. You can just see his eyes peering up at you from over the arm of the couch, and he reaches up toward you, making grabbing motions with both hands. "Yay!"

You laugh quietly, enamored by his quiet, boyish tone, rolling your eyes for his benefit before joining him on the couch. Blitzø shifts so you can lay down, and despite his request for 'ass', he urges you to stretch out on your back. He crawls on top of you, cat-like, and flops down on your belly, his legs between yours and his chin resting against your sternum. You let out soft giggle as he turns his head to press a quick, open-mouthed kiss to your breast.

You reach up to smooth your fingers over the space between his horns as he settles again, eyes closed, and a low, steady purr begins rumbling through him and into your chest.

Upon reviewing my photos I can finally confirm that I did in fact see a cactus wren 😭🫶

I took a camera that I had never used on this trip and omggggg guess whose photos didn’t all turn out to be total shit!!

Here I was, looking at (frankly not helpful) studies and pseudo-tutorials on how to draw a male torso, kind of figuring things out (but not really), and hating what I’d done after not looking at it for a few hours… and then I remembered I had already had a great reference/breakdown! The “How to Draw the Venture Brothers” animator’s guides from… honestly I don’t know where anymore! Possibly Jackson Publick’s Livejournal, but just as likely somewhere else.

These sheets are the gift that keeps on giving. Simple shapes, clean lines, and a level of detail that’s appropriate for me and my (already heavily animation-influenced) style.
