So sorry I died guys for one I have been playing Zelda games to STUDY. Rant (Thought About Edwin Payne Too Much Again):

Edwin may be the best one out of the main four in regards to dealing with his own anger. Isn't that something?

I mean, Crystal is constantly angry and letting it out in ways that hurt others or even herself. Niko gets angry at love and herself and thinks changing her whole personality is the answer instead of facing what she did wrong. Charles, well, duh.

But Edwin. We see him get worked up on episode one until he breaks down, says everything he needs about how the cases matter to him, and accepts the comfort that comes afterwards. From then on I think we don't see him get mad for a good while.

He gets annoyed of course, all the time, but that's just him. Anger, though? I can only remember the second instance being with the Cat King in the forest, shoving the bracelet in his face. Which he was brilliant to do, had every right to, stood up for himself and left.

He takes the anger when it comes, does something about it and lets it go. Something no one else seems to have learned how to do.

In conclusion: Edwin Payne, somehow the emotional role model of this fucked up little group

"I can't believe Prongs and Wormy took the twin beds while we're stuck on this awful thing. That's so homophobic of them." Sirius complained as he turned around for the umpteenth time, making the bed creak again.

The ad for the vacation home they rented said "one bedroom - two beds - four people", so they assumed it was two double beds. Except it wasn't, and James and Pete rushed to claim the two single beds for themselves, leaving Sirius and Remus to share the sofa-bed in the living room. Admittedly, Sirius didn't really fight them on it. But it was before he realized that this poor excuse for a bed was as comfortable as the floor would be, and that Remus' presence so close to him was making him nervous and restless.

"What ?" Remus chuckled from near him. "How so ?"

"Because I said so Moony." Sirius grumbled.

"Look, it's not that bad. If you could stop moving for five minutes, that is."

Sirius groaned and ignored him, moving again to find a better position, even if he wasn't sure it was possible anyway. Suddendly, an arm wraped around his waist and his back was pressed against Remus' warm chest. Sirius swallowed.

"What are you doing ?" he whispered.

"Keeping you from fucking moving."

The words were spoken directly against his neck and he had to repress a shiver. His relationship with Remus had felt like it could be something more than friends for a while now. They were slowly becoming more affectionate towards each other. It was always small things, though. A lingering touch on his arm, a furtive hand on the small of his back. Never something like this yet, something so ... forward.

Feeling like he was exploring uncharted territory, he took Remus' hand that was laying in front of him in his own, intertwining their fingers. Remus pressed his hand in answer and Sirius let out the breath he was holding. His heart was beating so fast he was sure it could be heard in the silence of the night, but he felt so, so safe. As he finally closed his eyes, he thought that maybe, it wouldn't be so bad of a night.

I'm pretty sure that Jonouchi saw the Journey To The Center Of The Earth movie that was released in 1993.

It also fits in timeline wise if we are going with the assumption that Jonouch is 16 at the start of the series (as he is starting high school) which we are also assuming is in the year 2000 (because that year is when the anime started airing).

And by subtracting 16 from 2000 we get the year 1984 which is (theoretically Jonouchi's birth year). 1993 minus 1984 gives us the number 9, making Jonouchi's age at the time of the movie's release around 8 to 10 years old (give or take a year since the birth year is not that accurate); and thus plausible enough for Jonouchi to remember the movie while also being old enough for him to consider it nostalgic enough for reminiscing.

One can imagine a young Jonouchi either going to the cinema with Shizuka or watching it a few years later (10-12yrs old) by renting it out.

For additional proof I went on imdb and found these shots of a location from the movie that resemble the area that he is battling against Seid Lloyd in.

So when I hit 50k in this AU I did part 1 over here. And - guess what - I just wrote the final words of the epilogue! A Cosmic Sense is officially a complete draft! Of course, that doesn't mean it's finished; there's about 115k of words I now have to sift through, add missing scenes to, edit for tone, etc etc etc. But it's finally done - the longest fic I've written yet.
