There weren’t many options. She could hum her voice hoarse— which Harumi had done once before— or she could surrender to every unsettling noise and thought that encompassed her impenetrable cell.

The single light that buzzed in her ear, a constant reminder of Lloyd’s energy. The red and black checker pieces that clanged against the board as she toyed with them— she didn’t even like checkers. If she stood perfectly still and the light was out, Harumi could have sworn she could hear the voices of humans echo far above her. Perhaps it was wishful thinking.

To hear her heartbeat pounding in her ear as she lay against the hardened pillow is what forced a hum from her throat. She reached to turn the light off as she prepared to sing herself to sleep.

The buzz stopped, but so did her hum. The vast chamber her cell floated in began to rumble. The first unique sound she had heard in months sent her hand pulling on the chain and the light flew on.

Nevermind the buzzing, she darted her eyes around. It wasn’t just the sound of her new home that had changed. She drew to the other side of her cell and rubbed her finger across the glass.

A crack as fine as a hair.

The chain began to swing and cast a shadow over the light. Another unique sound. She reached for the chain to silence it— to silence everything.

Suddenly she couldn’t get the quiet she had loathed for months. The vast walls of her chamber echoed the screams of humans, only for another rumble to take its place.

It was her breathing that deafened the silence next.

The checkers slid from the metal table and clanged on the floor. The table began to slide. Harumi braced herself as the glass cell cracked and tilted.

“Hello?!” Her hoarse voice strained to call for help.

The rumble became constant and rough. Her cell swayed back and forth, forcing more cracks to prick the glass.

Her only light source failed her. Harumi screamed as she lost grip of her surroundings. Suddenly she couldn’t tell the difference between her cell and the building she tumbled under so long ago.

The glass around her shattered and her body slammed into the metal of the vast chamber. Her body flailed against the wall as she fell. Glass pricked her cheeks and blood mixed with her tears.

She waited for impact as she fell into the pitch black chamber. The ceiling of the chamber tore open and a bright pink light filled Harumi’s eyes.

Was it the Overlord?

Strong winds swept through the chamber and pulled Harumi and pieces of glass to and fray. She was pulled through the hole in the ceiling like a vacuum. The screams grew as she was swept into the halls— or what was left of the halls of Borg Tower.

She flew up two stories and upon the first window she had seen in months— the sky had ripped open. People and cars were tossed like leaves.

Harumi grabbed onto the wall and managed to pull herself away from the shattered window to stand on the ground. She watches the sky tear open again…and again.

A man screams as he is caught in the vacuum near the window. Harumi reaches out to grab him. She pulls with all her might and manages to pull him to safety.

But she loses her grip and falls. The man reaches for her but she is quickly swept away out of Borg Tower.

Harumi gets caught up in the debris and bumps into a small child. She and the child are pushed away from one another. He is pushed toward the Destiny's Bounty while she spins and whirls toward the center of the torn sky.

A piece of wood hits the back of her head and sends Harumi into a daze. As she is swept into the white center she locks eyes with the Bounty. She reaches for Lloyd who has that same child on his back. He locks eyes with her before he turns away and leaps off the bounty.

She screams and everything goes white. Oh how she yearned for the deafening silence of her cell now.

Yeah... yeah...

I honestly sometimes just think of the isolation Lloyd felt the WHOLE time following the Merge and I'm like... wow. I mean, sure he reunited with Kai a few weeks after, but then Kai left for YEARS, and he was just somehow sending Lloyd scrolls of the Merged Realms and all his travels, but Lloyd had no one to talk to.

He was all alone, he rarely left the Monastery, he probably maintained the other ninja's stuff daily, always cleaning and folding and organizing everything. Maybe he would try prepare something for each of their birthdays, and each Day of the Departed, and each year he was met with silence and nothing and no one.

Maybe there were some days where he would stop the Mailman from going back down those steps, just so he could have SOME accompaniment at some point on those bleak and lonely days...

she has some pencils that she keeps in her saddlebags to write on her book, and she's a not-so-skilled sword kind of person, shes getting there tho! when she is teamed up with others, she is usually the team's helper instead of a fighter unless necessery. she isnt a person to wear alot of armor, which led to the bandages on her legs. her skirt wasnt always slit either, it got snatched one time during her training and she tried to fix it but failed so she kept it that way (which explains the small pins)

Loving Zane

I have this Headcanon that Zane and Cole secretly dated for a short time in the early days and reading @general-yasur ’s fanseason got me really thinking really about how hard it would really be to love Zane given how he may feel about himself (Like Yasur made me think about this topic for so long I ended up writing this fic!).️

“They’re so weird,” Nya chuckled, digging in a small cooler.

The ninja had travel to the bitch for a little R&R in between missions, while Kai, Jay, and Lloyd where off trying to get crabs to fight in the sand, Nya, Skylor, and Cole where sitting on a large towel on the beach, in addition Zane had taken Pixal into the ocean for no other reason than he could.

“I can’t do what she does,” Skylor sighed, “I don’t know how she does it!”

“What do you mean,” Nya questioned.

“Love him like she does,” the master of amber answered, “after everything that has happen to them -to him- nothing changes.”

“Huh, I never thought about it that much,” the Master of Water remarked, “I don’t think I would love Jay as much as I do if he did the things Zane did to himself.”

“I don’t think I have ever loved someone for so long,” Skylor admitted.

“Can I be honest with you girls,” the master of earth asked.

“Yeah.”

“Of course, Cole.”

The large man takes a breath before speaking, looking on to Zane and Pixal, “loving Zane is hard,” he began, “him acting like he has no self-preservation at times isn’t something that started with the first self-sacrifice. He holds little stock for himself, in part because of what Dr. J told him, “his greater propose,” he’s always been like that, and he will continue to be like that.”

“Willing to put everyone else beside him so he takes the hardest hits, because that means he’s making his father proud. Nonetheless if Pixal asked him to quit being a ninja because she wanted him to stop dying, he was do it in a heartbeat,” he continued, “but she knows that him quitting would eat at his insides, so she doesn’t ask. She stands beside him, repairs him, and cries every single fucking time he kills himself, for the great good, because she loves him so much that it hurts to see how Zane truly sees himself!”

“You’re speaking from experience,” Skylor asked.

Cole nodded, “Pixal and I talk about him a lot so there is that too, that’s why I know there is a small part of her that feels like she owes him something because he gave her emotions, and that’s why she was hit so hard when he turned of his emotions and stopped talking to him for a while.”

Silence fell between the three before Cole spoke up again, “he’s changing ever so slightly. All for her.”

“You’re very observant,” Nya commented.

“Not really, I know what it’s like to be in love and a relationship with Zane,” Cole declared, “and again Pixal and I frequently talk.”

“Do you still love him,” Skylor asked.

“In a way, yes,” he answered, “Zane was different with me, mostly because I didn’t want anyone to know at the time. Zane is an affectionate person its words of affirmation, acts of service, and physical touch for our nindroid, and I was too scared to stop meeting him in lock rooms and storage closet just to kiss him. Plus, he never looked at me the way he looks at Pixal.”

“What’s the difference?”

“He used to look at me like he was always concerned and afraid, like he was doing something wrong,” Cole clarified, “he looks at her with this carving ache full of love, she has this longing effect on him.”

“Not observant my ass,” Nya joked.

“I don’t know what to say,” Cole laughed, “I just know Pixal is making him happier than anyone else could. I feel like that’s obvious!”

“What is obvious,” Zane questioned, approaching the large beach towels they had set up with Pixal at his side.

“It’s obvious the boys got lost,” Nya lied, “Sky, you wanna go find them?”

“Sure, you want to come with us Cole?”

“Nah, I’ll stay here, hold down the fort,” he joked.

The girls left leaving Cole with the teams two nindroids, “you okay, Cole,” Pixal asked as she sat down.

“Yeah, chickadee, I’m all good,” he replied.

“When did you start calling her that,” Zane chuckled, adding more ice to the cooler.

“I don’t remember, for a while,” Cole snickered, “would you like me to call you what I used to?”

“If it’s pinky I don’t wanna hear it.”

The three of them laughed, Cole watched Zane sit next to Pixal with an arm around her, it really is hard loving Zane sometimes.

And yet the oni’s will continued to burn in its swollen heart, it remained hungry, and blindly sought pleasure, becoming a sycophant to its own desires.
