Ships

Today I wanted to discuss about Ships.

Ships excist in every fandom, Splatoon, poppy playtime, heck even sonic movie.

Ships:- (Not boat) Is a two, three, heck it can be even 10 people/characters paired, canonicly or fanonicly.

Fanonical or canon character shipped people/characters mostly have ship names combining the names into one name like- Sonadow (Sonic+Shadow), Pearlina (Pearl+Marina), Alphine (Undine+Alphys).

Shipped but not aproved

Shipped but not aproved character ships are those ships that are very much looks canon but not aprooved by the game maker/writer or etc.

Pearlina- Their ship is very much seen to be canon by the Splatoon fans and I can tottaly see that. From Marina calling pearl Senpai in japanese to Side order Marina's instagram posts (Marina's dev diaries). Tho this ship seems to be canon, it was very much denied by Nintendo, probably to not get parent disgust for the game (Remember the Acht situation before Side order released?)

Sonamy- (This ship can be argued so please do not judge) The ship is seen canon by most of Sonic fans (some also like Sonadow, Sonablaze and more! I don't judge them because I am myself Sonadow shipper :)) But is very hardly denied by SEGA because how toxic the relashionship is seen through the games or even series. Sonic sees Amy as a friend, partner, while Amy is the big fan of Sonic that was also crushing on him. But through the years SEGA has been trying to change her into an independed person and eventually a bit wiping off history from games (for reffrence see Sonic Generations (2024 ver.) V.s. the 2011 ver.)

Another ship I'll be talking about is

STOBOTNIK!!!!!

Everyone who watched the Sonic movies know the best character ship in there, STOBOTNIK (Agent Stone+Robotnik). Because of their relashionship in the movies. And the ship is not canon or still not aprooved bcs THE MOVIE IS FOR CHILDREN (Well....Lots of people might disagree and say it should be for adults. But you do understand, MAYBE KIDS NOW ARE INTRESTED IN THE FANDOM JUST LIKE YOU WERE WHEM PLAYING ON THE DREAMCAST SA2 BEING 7 YEARS OLD)

Even agent's stone actor aprooves this ship ;).

So continuing on.....It was shipped because how Agent Stone and Dr. Robotnik were interacting with each other from 1 movie to the 3 movie.

But seeing how everyone ships them, In a......freaky way 💀💀💀. (Not that I'm judging).

So that's all my opinion about ships. Tho there are more ships from other fandoms since my main fandoms are Splatoon, Sonic and a bit of NSR. Which more video character or video character movie based characters you want me to talk about? Write in the comments

I still see so many amazing miraculous artists/writers but it seems like the fandom just doesn’t interact with them like they used to. The popular creators that are left are still doing numbers but none of the newer ones are gaining any traction

Interaction in fandoms has been on the decline. Not just for ML. Though I think a part of it is that Tumblr is really a husk of what it once was.

But I do think you’re right. That newer creators aren’t getting traction. People have stuck to their specific faves and that has resulted in more of a clique like fandom.

Not really. I don’t really collab with other ppl (outside of what friends I do have and those r usually art business related) so idk many other blogs on here personally. I tend to stick to my little corner of the fandoms I make content for and try to stay out of drama.

If anything I’d suggest scrolling through the tags and seeing if any art or fics strike ur interest enough to check out their blog for more (And don’t forget to reblog any of those that u like, likes r okay but reblogs spread the word of whatever u find cool).

Ships (Part 2)

Canonical Ships:- Canonical ships are ships comfirmed to be canon in the franchise. (Lumity, Zaika (Zira×Aika, From PPIDIWTBMG) and more.)

Canonical ships are VERY RARE situations. Because most of them aren't confirmed and it's really messed up. To be clear Knuckles and Rouge ship isn't canon. I found one post talking about that there was a SA2 booklet that said their status as friends. But as I said it's not canon.

Murder drones is a show about robots who gained sentience when humans died. It was created by GLITCH productions and you should tottaly watch it. The Uzi×N ship is a ship which at first got considered fanon and later confirmed in episode 8. It wasn't freaky at first but when it was confirmed...freaky things have been happening with the ship. 💀💀 (Again I'm not judging)

Lumity

Owl house is an official ship on the Owl house. But what confused me, how didn't Disney freak out of seeing lesbians. You know how homophobic they are...Oh never mind they stopped streaming it on Disney channel. Anyways...It was the most adored ship with Luz and Amity from the series. And later in season 3 Luz's Mom litterally supported them being lesbians. Dana's writing never sucks and I' waiting to see her new indie animation project :)

Video games?

Well.....that's quite a shocker considering that LOTS of games ships aren't canon and aren't confirmed atleast...we can count-

If you know, you know. They were shipped because Animal Crossing New Horizons released the same date as Doom. And later there was a fan song released for the ship. Funny you ask...it's canon? Did it was aprroved?

i had a thought of "do people not know what AUs are anymore?" and then i remembered nobody explains fandom stuff to new people anymore so it is entirely plausible people genuinely don't know what AUs are and nobody has explained it to them, so for today's lucky 10,000:

"AU" stands for "Alternate Universe" or "Alternative Universe" (same difference) and is basically any thought scenario for a fandom that isn't canon and can't fit within the canon universe. If it takes place in the canon universe but something is notably different, that is typically what's known as a "Canon divergent AU," because it diverges from canon.

an AU can be absolutely anything. There's a couple of widespread pan-fandom au scenarios that often get thrown around, like coffee shop aus, genderbend aus, hanahaki aus (hanahaki is a whole thing in itself i'd recommend researching on your own), etc. One you might hear sometimes is "crossover AU" which is when you have characters from one fandom interacting with characters from another.

You can have as many aus as you want. They can be whatever you want and you can do whatever you want in them. It's a sandbox for you to play around in and explore how things would be different or how the characters would act in those circumstances or environments. Maybe they have different relationships with each other. Maybe they behave slightly differently. Or you can just say "Okay, [x] is true. How did they get here? How would things have to be different for this to occur?" which can also be fun.

If you are ever confused about why people ship something that seems completely out of the blue or doesn't make sense to you in the canon setting, there's a good chance they like it in an AU setting! Not everything everybody is interacting with is necessarily the canon! Not everybody wants things to exist in canon and just want to explore playing dolls in a different sandbox and that's okay. And their sandbox might look a lot different than yours, and that's also okay. You have the freedom to make your sandbox whatever you please. Do whatever you want forever. Get funky with it. AUs are fun.
