King Deshret finally feels the full extent of the statement when he returns to his palace after half a year with Nabu Malikata, only to find the Queen, aka Reader, has left a marriage dissolution agreement on their martial bed before she returned to her homeland in Liyue.

He had indeed forgotten that Reader was Liyue's most esteemed Phoenix Princess; the sole daughter of the Phoenix Queen and she had chosen love (i.e him) despite having a marriage contract with Rex Lapis. And now that she has returned to Liyue, he knew without any doubt she's going to marry the Geo Archon.

His heart sinks when Greater Lord Rukkhadevata informs him and Nabu Malikata that all of the Archons have received Morax's wedding invite to Reader.

Nabu Malikata, totally ignorant of King Deshret's distress, gushes about the impeding wedding.

King Deshret knows he has to see Reader one last time, to try and beg for reconciliation, so he requests the Dendro Archon to take him to the wedding.

I finished Demian and have so many thoughts abt this book especially the queer undertones, this is all my opinion and how i perceived the story, its ok if ppl dont agree ik theres many interpretations! This story portrayed gender and Sexuality in such a fluid way it was oddly refreshing? The male is female, they are both, they are none, they are the world, glory to Abraxas

The character that most stuck with me is Frau Eva, not because i found her that interesting, shes a hot wise tree milf, but what she could represent is fascinating. To me she was another layer of Sinclairs repressed sexuality, mainly his attraction to Demian, some people will defend with their lives Sinclair and Demian were just Best friends forever platonic male besties and while i respect that i find it rlly funny do you often dream abt ur bffs dominating u or kiss them on the lips? Regardless! Sinclair has an obvious attraction to Demian since childhood, his teenage years filled with longing for him, then comes Frau Eva, shes literally just female Demian, looks like him, talks like him, and Sinclair is hit with this bliss, out of this world, while you can take it at face value and go milf coochie made life worth living (respect that) it felt to me like a sort of release from years of repressed desire, Frau Eva is exactly like Demian but as a woman, the gender society deems correct for him to like, and in his monologues hes unashamed and more downbad than before. Queer readings of Demian shouldnt be surprising to anyone knowing how damn fruity Sinclair acts + the theme of the god Abraxas and accepting yourself and your desires honestly, theres a theme of self acceptance i think many queer people relate to! At the same time though one must recognize Sinclair does genuinely love Frau Eva! He is a milf lover, but his love for her is also heavily colored by his attraction to Demian, so to me its a mix of both? Thats how i perceived it at least! Anyway!!!!! I love how there are two parts of the fandom now:

the "i love you Oscar but you're so not making it out of this alive, i'm in denial"

And the feeling I've got in 36 that John isn't just jealous, he's basically being erased and is scared to death to lose the only things he has - a sight that's not his but is the only use he sees for himself right now, a mind - the only thing that's truly him and his alone (shut up King), and a voice just one person can hear (also a few limbs control but this is being omitted all the time), that's why being so petty and posessive, - has only gotten stronger in 37. John, dear. You need a separation, and I don't even mean your eldritch body unsharing stuff, just psychologically. Which is hard, I guess, because of the eldritch body sharing stuff.

But he feels unstable and vulnerable af, unsure, uncertain about his very existence, that's why all the snarkiness.

Btw I really liked how I switched sides with John and Arthur this episode. Usually they are more stable morally-wise, as in one is being the moral compass for the other, but here the morals were being tossed between them like a hot potato. Although with Arthur I was more like disappointed and irritated (aren't you trying to be a good man and a Human with a capital H?) when he lost the course, and with John it's simply a grinny YASSSS JOHN 💛 idk and idc. Guess who's my comfort character. (Wrong, it's Yellow. Fine, it's John first.)

I wish I could care about Oscar, but he feels like a hindrance. Oooh my John kinny is showing aren't they As in, I KNOW he's helping, but I also see him as a very likely source of drama and disaster. He's not as familiar with the eldritch stuff the Jester team went through, he's pretty innocent but kinda unhinged in borderline religious way (borderline because it's not the faith in his god that makes him unhinged), and this contrast gives me the heebie jeebies. He feels like a slightly rabid kitten who's going to be killed because of his innocent ignorance and his drive to stick his nose where it shouldn't really go.

And uh. Oscar sounds like a really nice person. So he really SHOULDN'T go anywhere near Jester team because, y'know. People die like flies around them. I wouldn't wish such an unfortunate outcome to a genuinely nice person, no matter how much I like the boys.
