i loved one direction with an all-consuming force when i was younger. it hurts deeply to mourn someone you were a massive fan of as teenager, and became a peer of as an adult.

i know people change and grief is unsure or complicated when it’s attached to a fond memory or the feeling a person gave you and not tangibly the person themself. i can see many of you on here are struggling with that right now and i understand.

a few years ago i purchased a home that Liam previously owned. there were rumors the house was haunted. He assured me it was not, and i believed him. because i know the ghosts that haunt us aren’t tethered to buildings. They live in parts of us that are harder to reach and they go wherever we do.

as a parent, a fellow artist, and a fan, i simply cannot fathom this untimely loss. my heart goes out to his family, friends, and the fans. 💔

Okay… so anyone who knows me… knows that anime girls are just not my thing. It’s really hard for me to say right off the bat “hey I really like this character.” BUT…

Nobara Kugisaki

I loved her from the first moment I met her. She was the first anime girl imo who wasn’t like your usual anime girl SC. She was outspoken, confident, bold, funny & crazy (in a good way). She was more than relatable. She was also fiercely independent and could tough it out with the best of the boys. I truly believe Nobara was a one of a kind anime girl and is also another HUGE reason why JJK stole my heart and attention. I fear there may never be another girl like her.

Thank you JJK, thank you Gege for giving me a powerful anime girl I could love and cheer for. You’ve created some of the most amazing characters and they will live on even when it all ends. 🤍

Also side note: I don’t think bringing Nobara back now was an ass pull on Gege’s part at all. I think it was perfect timing. And beautifully executed. That is all.

This is why I love this fandom so much. JJK is truly a different breed. Now, while the fandom has also sometimes been extremely toxic lol that’s only a select few. Overall, my experience being a part of the JJK fandom has been amazing. The people, the comments, the ART, the theories.

Sincerely, Jujutsu Kaisen is my all time favorite manga, now and forever.

Thank you Gege for opening this world to us and for your incredible art, writing and talent. Forever the GOAT even when you’re breaking my heart.

I don’t really have the words to express the grief I feel knowing one of my all time—ultimate—favorite manga is ending within the next 5 chapters. I’m usually good with words. But, I find myself at a loss for them today.

I guess all I can really say is thank you Gege. Thank you for creating a masterpiece that has brought both intense joy and intense sorrow to my life. There may never be another character like Satoru Gojo. The influence he wields on the world and will continue to… says everything you need to know about the story you’ve created, Gege.

There’s not a lot of series out there where you can say… every character was loved by someone. And very few villains so well written, like Sukuna.

I know I said I didn’t have the words. And well… I don’t. All I can say is JJK has been a big part of my life and will continue to. (I do have a whole leg tattooed of JJK characters with more to come on the other one 😅)

Anyway… I guess I’ll end this by saying… once again, Thank you Gege Akutami… AND…
