for the ask game: lavender and/or narcissus for kunikida or dazai :>>
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yandere flower prompt.
dazai osamu.
Lavender - Would this yandere’s darling be able to sense the impending danger, or is the yandere efficient at hiding their darker side?
Probably not. Dazai is really good at hiding his true intentions. You’d probably be able to tell something is off with him, but nothing much past that. Dazai definitely takes advantage of the fact that he’s a freak of society so he always seems off. His reputation of being strange and your preconceived ideas of him based on that reputation are factors that lull you into a false sense of security so you’ll never really know what he’s thinking. It makes it a lot easier for him to do what he wants behind the scenes.
Narcissus - Does this yandere prefer to infiltrate their darling’s life, or do they prefer to take their darling away?
Definitely the former. Even while in the Port Mafia, with all the endless resources he has, Dazai would think approaching you with brute force is unproductive. His style is more subtle, believe it or not. He’d rather keep you comfortable and willing, so he’ll choose to infiltrate into the fabric of your life and become the center of your world. Dazai is very patient, so he has no problem taking his time to slowly mold your will into his.
kunikida doppo.
Lavender - Would this yandere’s darling be able to sense the impending danger, or is the yandere efficient at hiding their darker side?
Kind of? I think you could sense that there’s something not quite right with how much Kunikida hovers over you but I’m not sure if it will really become bigger than that because of how much faith is put into Kunikida’s character. The people around him have a lot of trust in Kunikida’s morals and his ability to execute them so that would provide a lot of pressure to dismiss whatever discomfort you feel towards him. After all, why would a man of ideals do anything to harm you?
Narcissus - Does this yandere prefer to infiltrate their darling’s life, or do they prefer to take their darling away?
A little bit of both. Kunikida’s main objective is keeping you safe and controlling you. He keeps a tight leash on you by using whatever professional or personal authority he has to establish control but if that isn’t enough for him (it was never going to be anyways), he’ll probably snatch you up when you’re least expecting it and keep you in some isolated cottage, where nobody will find you.

I saw Doppo Kunikida for the prompts and I’d LOVE to see more of him. How would he react to his darling always hiding by him when he’s with the agency. Darling is uncomfortable being around Dazai, while they’re friends with Chuuya.
:D The fave! First time writing for him, so I hope I got his character down!
✧Always Hiding By Him✧ — Doppo Kunikida
Warning(s): Slight Hints of Possessive Behavior (I guess?), Hints of Controlling Behavior, Mentions of Kidnapping
Tumblr media
"Hm? You alright? Here, you can sit by me for now."
Kunikida actually doesn't mind you sticking by his side when you're in the Agency. As long as you're not interrupting any of his work, it's all good. Besides, he is able to keep an eye on you better this way, so this is a win-win situation for both of you. It's understandable that you would keep close to Kunikida, given his reliable nature in the Agency (which everyone is very aware of). Still, he does wonder why you hide.
It's not like there is any danger in the organization, plus, you're surrounded by members who will make sure no one is hurt. Do the other members make you anxious? Kunikida wonders this as he glances at you every once in a while as he works. You might get bored but...you're still right there. Sitting by him. How peculiar. Still, he is aware that some of his coworkers are...eccentric and assumes that might be why you hide away. He won't admit it out loud, but Kunikida feels a sense of appreciation that you go to him out of everyone.
Even if you haven't said anything indicating if you are wary of the other members, it's obvious to him that you're uncomfortable around Dazai. So of course, anytime his suicidal coworker is present, he makes sure let him near you. He knows how Dazai can be so a pointed look is directed towards the man. "Dazai, please refrain from pestering them." He's also more stern with him because Dazai is Dazai and Kunikida isn't particularly fond of the man's behavior around you. It gives him a bad taste in his mouth. Plus, he values your comfort and doesn't like to see your face contort into a frown like that.
But oh, is it a different story when he finds out you're friends with Chuuya.... He was also the last person to know about it— I kid, I kid. Kunikida found out relatively quickly once he put together the pieces and kept track of your schedule. His reaction? Very wary. He isn't really fond of the idea that you're friends with someone from the Port Mafia, but he isn't going to do anything drastic. No, that would just escalate things into an unnecessary conflict. So far, nothing is amiss and he'd like to keep it that way.
He will ask questions about your friendship with Chuuya, obviously out of concern for you after all. He cherishes you so much and he would blame himself if anything were to happen to you due to your friendship (because obvious reasons...). Heck, he might even try to convince you to break of being friends with Chuuya all together. Just to ease his anxiety. If you refuse, this annoys his slightly.
I will mention, this might motivate him to kidnap you earlier on. You obviously can't take care of yourself in the world. Kunikida is sorry to say that, but...look at the facts. Hiding by him when entering the Agency just means you can't handle certain people. With Dazai it's more reasonable, but still. It reads off to him that you constantly need him to hold your hand. So, this just means his actions are justified. You can't argue against him when he states all these things. It's hard to face the truth but it's plain as day. You need him more than you think you do.
"I'm doing what's best for you. You understand that, right? I know you trust me this much, so I assume you do."

My writing has evolved, or so I like to think. It feels so weird to see the things I wrote back in the yee old days 😭 (I was in highschool)
Imagine...
Tumblr media
Entering the office, only to be met with utter silence. It was weird seeing the place so empty since someone was always there, even if they were just lazing around. But, the one thing that stood out was the green notebook on Kunikida's desk. You just stared at it, somewhat eager to read it. Kunikida always made sure that no one got to read it especially you.
With a sigh, you made your way towards your own desk and started to arrange some papers. But no matter how hard you tried, your eyes always wandered back to the notebook. It was just sitting there on the desk, like it was begging to be read! It was weird that Kunikida didn't have it with him, but he was most likely somewhere near with the director. You pondered on what you should do. Should you respect Kunikida's privacy, and not touch the notebook or should you satisfy your own desire to read it?
After a few minutes of thinking, curiosity won the battle. People always did say that curiosity killed the cat but everyone always failed to mention that satisfaction brought it back.
You got up and quietly walked towards the wodden table, slightly nervous of getting caught. But still, you persisted and you now finally had the little green notebook in your hands. Carefully opening it, you noted that there wasn't anything special on the first few pages. Just some of Kunikida's chores, the bills the Agency had to pay, everything Dazai had damaged, etc. But, something caught your eye. It was a entry and your name was writen several times in it. Curiously, you read it.
"Monday, 08:32
(y/n) was late to work and I made sure to lightly scold her about that. She apologized, but I just felt so bad. I didn't want to sound so harsh, but it needed to be done. Then she..."
Most of the entries were like this. Some of them were even downright cute! But, the more and more you continued to read, you realized just how wrong everything had become. The entries were much darker now, and were just plain creepy. They contained all of your personal information, including phone numbers, adress, favorite foods, hobbies, the names and adresses of your friends, your god damn bra size... No longer were the entries focused on Kunikida's frustrations, now the only focus was you. Everything you did, everywhere you went, it was all written down. Kunikida expressed his horrible jelaousy towards Dazai and other men, how much he hated when you look at them and just how god damn sweet you were towards them. He wanted that sweetness for himself, he wanted you to be in his arms, he wanted you all to himself. He wrote down several plans to "ensure you become his". He had a werehouse, clorophone, chains and all sorts of things that were just huge red flags. You finally got to the last entry, which was early in the morning.
"Friday 07:30
I am tired of waiting. My patience is running thin, I just can't take it anymore... I hate how she pays attention to everyone else and not me... God this feeling is bothersome. The only thing that can stop it is by making sure that she is mine.
Mine!
MINE!!!
She needs to be MINE!!"
You were shocked by what you just read. Was...was Kunikida really like this? This definetly explained his strange behavior but...
"...what the Hell are you doing?"
Your blood ran cold. You recognised the voice to be Kunikida's and your eyes widened as you realized that he was staring both you and his notebook down. He was right behind you. He was so close that you could just feel his hot breath on your neck. You started to shake lightly as Kunikida took the notebook from your hands. You didn't have the guts to turn around, you were just so darn scared! You could hear Kunikida sigh as he closed his notebook. Before you could make a run for it, Kunikida stopped you by harshly tugging your hair. You gasped in horror as salty tears stung your eyes, while Kunikida used his other hand to grab your neck. He pulled you closer in to his embrace, like he was savouring the feeling of you in his arms. You could feel his other hand letting go of your (h/c) locks as he reached down to take something from his pocket. In a low but husky tone, he spoke again:
"(y/n), you can't just go around touching people's personal items, understand? You never know in what you might run in to..."
His voice trailed off at the last few words, and before you knew it something small and sharp had pricked your neck. You quickly realized that it was a drug as everything around you became a blurr. The only thing that you could make out was the rapid heartbeat of Kunikida, and before passing out in his arms, he spoke once again.
"You did not obey my order to not touch my notebook. Because of that, you deserve to be punished."
Before you knew it, you had passed out completely in your captors arms.

ranpo is a 6 of 10. doesn't get too worried about other guys because he knows you wouldn't go for anyone else other than the greatest detective ever, but when another guy flirts with you, he just feels the need to.. step in.
yosano is a 7 of 10. she doesn't mind when others speak to you, as long as they aren't flirting with you, and that's a loose term with her. asking for directions in a large mall could get someone's fingers chopped off if she was in a particularly annoyed mood.
fukuzawa is a 4 of 10. he doesn't care if people talk to you either, but flirting is off the table with him. even so, he'll just leave the area and take you with him, he can't just let some other guy talk to you, are you crazy?
Tumblr media
akutagawa is a 8 of 10. if someone's making small talk or something he doesn't care, but even speaking to you or looking at you for too long is just like asking for him to beat them senselessly.
chuuya is a 8 of 10. like akutagawa, small talk doesn't matter to him. you're socializing, who cares? but he's absolutely jealous of your friends, especially your close ones. strangers, he can beat the shit out of those, but your friends? he can't do anything there, so he just sits in silence.
higuchi is an 9 of 10. she hates when anyone else talks to you, she just can't stand it. she'll openly tell you how much she hates it when other people beside her 'flirt' with you, and makes you promise not to hurt her like that again.
gin is a 3 of 10. she does get jealous of other people like your closer friends, but doesn't act on anything, just sits in silence. maybe she'll express to you she was jealous, but she won't hurt anyone unless they make advances on you
tachihara is a 6 of 10. he does get jealous of your friends, but doesn't hate them. he just wants to be in their place. who says you should spend all your time with them? leave some room for him, won't you?
Tumblr media
sigma is a 7 of 10. he won't make direct moves if he's jealous, he'll only tell you he's jealous afterward, or work behind scenes to get rid of the certain person he thinks talks to you a little too much for his liking.
fyodor is a 9 of 10. he doesn't think you'll talk to anyone else, it's about others talking to you. he just can't have you talking to anyone but him. why would you need to anyway?
nikolai is a 8 of 10. i don't have a whole lot to say about him either, but he's not afraid to be... himself,, if someone talks to you a little too much.
Tumblr media
jouno is a 9 of 10. he knows you won't actually speak to other guys.. but still. he isn't chill when other guys talk to you, and gets worse when they eye you the wrong way,
tecchou is a 4 of 10. this man sees no reason to be jealous of your friends, or anyone who says they don't want you. why would they lie to him anyway? look at him, he's strong as hell. would you lie to him? didn't think so
Tumblr media

May I request Ango, Kunikida (bsd), Ryuken (bleach, and Sayaka (Kakegurui) with an s/o who just doesn’t put up with any bull shit and is extremely direct about it. Basically they are a grump that will tell someone to fuck off if they are annoying them or anything.
Tw: Yandere themes, possessive behavior, obsession, delusional tendencies, manipulation, clinginess, controlling behavior
Tags: @cachamata @shumidehiro @leveyani @izanami78
Fuck off!
Igarashi Sayaka
Tumblr media
💐It is a dangerous line that you are walking here, especially considering that you are in Hyakkaou Private Academy. Sayaka has normally nothing but adoration for you but she still deems it to be important that you know when to be quiet. After all if you were to anger the wrong people it could end terribly for you and she will especially not tolerate any rude behavior in front of Kirari. It's hard to coax you into being less direct and learning how to just say nothing which is why Sayaka decides to take things in her own hands. She always tries to schedule everything so that you won't bump into any of the council members only to potentially say something that could end in a gamble which you might lose considering that cheating is allowed as long as it is done smartly. Only from Kirari will she be unable to keep you away from, especially since the head of the Momobami clan herself has a keen interest to get to know the lover of her personal assistant. Sayaka can't protect you from Kirari and she doesn't want to either, after all she admires her greatly. If your behavior gets you into serious debt Sayaka would most likely gamble you out of it by using not so nice methods herself.
Sakaguchi Ango
Tumblr media
🗃️There is nothing wrong about a direct behavior in itself but there is a time and place for such blunt words. That's what Ango believes at the very least and perhaps it is his job speaking out of him though as he is no stranger with having to negotiate with dangerous people to find the best solution to satisfy both sides and to ensure a peaceful option. He still gets shocked with your harshness to this day and more than once he is the one who has to apologise and scold you for your behavior afterwards which doesn't exactly soothe your irritated behavior. He finds it unjustified, how you so easily snap as soon as someone annoys you. It's impolite and whilst he has no list about what he envisions his partner to be like like Kunikida has, he still expects a certain amount of politeness and patience from you. It's due to your grumpy behavior that he doesn't often introduce you to the people he works with as your irritation would only cause issues if you were to get annoyed and snap at someone. Normally it is Ango who is the patient one between the two of you but if you do something that he believes has gone too far he will decide that some more direct methods might be needed.
Kunikida Doppo
Tumblr media
📓Kunikida is going to be much more direct from the very start about your behavior than Ango is going to be simply because he has tighter expectations from you. Much more meticulous, there is a reason why he has such detailed plans of how he imagines his love life to be like. There are certain traits within you that he just can't ignore and your grumpy behavior and habit to talk back the moment you are annoyed is one of them. Perhaps it is hypocritical to behave like this considering how he acts when Dazai is anywhere within a five-foot-range but you would only waste your own breath if you were to point this out to him. Things between the two of you can get rather tense at times due to his controlling behavior and your own opinion that there is nothing that has to be fixed within your behavior. He constantly forces you to apologise to those you snap at if he deems it as unjustified and arguments happen commonly where he scolds you only more for your grumpy behavior. He's going to be very strict, especially if you become defiant in which case he is going to resort to methods such as locking you inside a room for a couple of hours so that you can reflect on your behavior and cool your head.
Ishida Ryuken
Tumblr media
◻️Ryuken is not going to put up with any of your bullshit either. He supposes that both of you are on completely different ends of the spectrum. You are explosive with your temper whilst he is much more composed and whilst you are all annoyed and angry when you have had enough he is cold. Both of you share being very direct though which is why he instantly belittles you for your inability to keep your composure. Personally I think that someone like Ryuken would only add fuel to your temper because he is constantly belittling you for your attitude. Worst of all is that he keeps his cool exterior all whilst scolding you for your verbal outbursts as if you are an immature child. When the two of you are in public he is going to keep a close eye on you so that you don't accidentally tell someone off as he has been raised to follow a certain etiquette and he expects the same from you. In only few situations would he not blame you but even then he thinks that there could have been more fitting ways to react. If you direct that attitude at him he is going to very much treat you like an immature child by taking away objects that have a sentimental value to you or not allowing you to do your hobbies.

Could you do the lawyer of ADA, they deal with Dazai a lot. They managed to get taken by the Guild as a hostage, instead of freaking out they actually relax and treat it like a vacation. Some of the Guild members are confused until ADA calls them to negotiate but Dazai takes over asking about the legal ramifications of a fire he may have caused, but in his defense it was half on fire when he got involved. Fukuzawa grabs the phone off him and requests to speak to Fitzgerald. Instead of tea the lawyer asks for whiskey on rocks.
This has both platonic (children) and romantic (adults) yanderes
You could hear the irritating voice of Dazai from the other end of the the phone, he was so loud despite Fukuzawa having the phone. Fitzgerald sits on the couch across from you, and he even looked annoyed from hearing Dazai’s voice and he’s not even used to it like you. You could hear Fukuzawa’s voice, trying to negotiate with Fitzgerald dispute the chaos in the background. Fitzgerald rubbed his temples before cutting the president off.
“Listen old sport, let me think about your offer and you can call me back once you get a proper handle on your employees.” There was a brief noise on the other end of the line that sounded like yelling but it was cut off by Fitzgerald hanging up. He looked at you and shook his head with that charming smile. “I’ll be honest I don’t know how you deal with that all.”
“It takes the patience of a saint.”
“Then I must be the devil.” He waved over a maid in the room telling her to get him some tea and then he looked at you. “Would you like anything?”
“Whiskey.”
“This early?”
“After that headache I need it.”
Honestly being held captive, if you could call it that, by the Guild, was much better than the in and out of your job at the Armed Detective Agency. You have tried to quit in the past but somehow Dazai would be on the same train you took home, Kenji would run into you at the farmer’s market, or even the siblings at the convenience store by your house which was odd since you lived on the other end of the city that the Agency was on. Those were the milder cases, there were the other times where Kunikida would accidentally run into you in the middle of a job, or when you fell down the stairs in the park and Dr. Yosano just happened to be there. It felt like every misfortune in your life was tied to the agency and they were just pulling you back. Being held hostage was actually nice, sure you had to be under surveillance by some Guild member, normally this was one of two young men, John Steinbeck or Mark Twain, and they were nice enough. But honestly Fitzgerald had you treated very well, not like any other hostage situations you have been in.
“Well while they pull themselves together I have a proposal for you.” Fitzgerald said as the maid went to get your drinks. “The only real reason you’re here is because that’s the only way I could discuss this with you.”
“Smart, but the legal ramifications of it will be-“
“Extreme, I can deal with that, nothing a bit of money can’t erase.” He cut you off, chuckling under his breath. “You know the dirt of the Armed Detective Agency, if you start working for me I can get you out.”
“You want me to betray the agency?”
“I’ve seen your employment records, you have quit from there multiple times, but have always come back within two weeks. Correct me if I’m wrong but you’re trapped and want to get out.”
He was right, you couldn’t even lie about that. You wanted to get out, the detective agency was only going to be a temporary job while you discussed potential employment with law firms in Yokohama and even Tokyo. Those few weeks turned into months, and those months into years, and not one of those law firms wanted to take you, almost that they were afraid of you. You had your suspicions after Dazai was smiling a little too wide after you received another letter of rejection, but you could never confirm it. Your hands curled into fists, grabbing the fabric of the skirt you were wearing.
“…that’s correct.”
“I thought so, well if you agree to this, you will be free from the agency, I will be sure to get U.S. citizenship for you within the week if you so wish for it, and law firms lined up with jobs for you, or if you’d like you could continue work for the Guild and you could have more money than you would know what to do with.” The maid finally came, setting your drinks on the coffee table between the two of you. Fitzgerald picks up your drink and hands it to you and then his cup of tea and takes a long sip. “You’re free to reject, but if you do you’ll have to deal with the agency again, likely for the rest of your life-”
“Deal.” You never answered faster in your life, if you got away from the agency you would be free to spend your life how you wanted. Fitzgerald smiled, but his eyes had a dangerous glint to them.
“Prove it.”
He wanted dirt, so what could you give them? Kenji, Kunikida, Atsushi, Ranpo, and the Tanizaki siblings had next to nothing on them, The President had his past as an assassin, then Yosano who had a bit of a past in the war, there was Dazai with- actually you wouldn’t dare expose that out of fear for your life. Who was left?
Your stomach sank in realization…
But you couldn’t keep living like this…
“Kyoka Izumi, she used to be in the Port Mafia, she was used as an assassin due to her ability and killed a total of 35 people in 6 months.”
You heard the phone ring again, as if almost on cue with your words. You jumped slightly as if you got caught exposing your deepest darkest secret. You watched as Fitzgerald leaned over and picked up the phone and answered as you sipped on your drink in an attempt to calm your nerves. You could hear Fukuzawa say something on the other end of the line, something about an amount of money but Fitzgerald cut him off.
“There has been some changes to the deal old sport, see it seems Miss (Name) doesn’t want to work for you anymore so I have no use for her a hostage anymore.” You watched as Fitzgerald reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a gun, you felt like you were about to be sick. He did not aim it at you though, just at a wall and he shot it off… he made it seem like you died. “Goodbye.”
You could hear the yelling like last time on the other end of the line as he hung up, only now it was panicked and worried, but no matter how much you tried you couldn’t make out the voice of Dazai, that alone made you scared.
Fitzgerald picked up his tea cup again and raised it up in a toast. “Here to new beings.”
With your mind being elsewhere, both in fear, guilt, and relief, you could only manage a small. “ya.”
You did not know what would happen next but at least now you were free, you had your life back again and that was worth celebrating…
“Welcome to the Guild, Miss (Name).”

i need you to PLEASE expand more on the bsd zombie apocalypse au
more so if its yan 👀
bsd apocalypse au
bsd ada various / reader
notes: mild yandere themes, zombie apocalypse thingies, NOT PROOFREAD sad face and teary-eyed emoji
Tumblr media
-> your 'first' encounter with dazai is nothing short of terrible. your dull knife was pressed on his bandage-clad neck when he managed to sneak up on you. it's so easy to mistake dazai as a zombie when he looks so dead. dirty bandages adorning his arms and neck, dried blood sticking to his skin and clothes (not like you were better yourself) — had it not been the absence of rotting flesh and flesh (or the loud whine he had let out when your knife barely pressed on his throat,) you could've killed him.
the man took your hand in his with fervor, his eyes twinkling with cheer that does not suit a man like him. meeting him was terrifying enough, but him to ask you to join his group? utterly horrifying.
he didn't even give you a choice to decline.
if he had to be subjected in multiple earsplitting berations by a certain ideal donning co-detective for you to be accepted, there's no need for you to know. actually, he would let you know. he'd use it against you everytime you don't do something for him — you're complaining about having to go on a supply run in his stead because he's lazy? next thing you know he's letting out a scoff and telling you about the 'traumatic' scoldings of kunikida he had to endure just for you to be welcomed in the team.
-> dazai's words of 'persuasion' — if you could even call it that, rarely works. and you learned it the hard way. you watched timidly on the sidelines as dazai dismisses kunikida's reprimands and barrage of insults with a playful laugh, shrugging off any comments of how bringing any more people in the agency will only mean more mouth to feed and how 'kenji's appetite' is already worth 3 mouths.
despite kunikida's prior disapproval of you being an addition to the group, kunikida instantly — a little too instantly, warms up to you. in fact, when you were begrudgingly let into the team, he was the first to hand you a new and fresh set of clothing.
kunikida’s kindness and compassion warms your heart and it is often that you find yourself in his presence when something is troubling you. always able to lend his ear and provide some insight while he assigns the agenda.
kunikida proves himself as a reliable friend, so much so that you don’t know question how almost every supply run and night watch is spent alongside him.
-> if there was someone you were in favor of in the entirety of the agency aside from kunikida’s amazing diligence, you would’ve been sure yosano takes the crown.
she’s a formidable woman — always so quick to treat any wounded teammates. its almost a miracle how every single one that comes out of the infirmary looks better than ever, not a single sight of bandages and scars that would’ve littered their skin.
she is as quick to hound you in her empty infirmary whenever she manages to strike a deal with kunikida something about not being too ruthless when treating him? you don't know. she bemoans off your ears about how you’re always assigned to do some menial tasks with the others when you could be staying with her instead.
whenever you’re alone with her, you feel more of those large bear plushies you'd see displayed in malls more than anything — you're meant to stay still as she treats your lap as some kind of chair, your shoulder as a bed, and your stomach as some kind of pillow. her butterfly hairpin digging in your skin painfully while she rests her head on your shoulder.
-> when you met ranpo who was sat upon his desk, you thought he was very familiar — not because he was the self proclaimed greatest detective of all time that you kept hearing about before, but because you had a feud with him about this one last sweet remaining in of the aisle during the apocalypse. you won with a cheap trick that he surprisingly fell for; pointing at the air with a, 'look, there's more sweets!' and making a break for it.
by the looks of it, he didn't seem to forget about the incident, and it doesn't seem that he'll be forgiving you anytime soon too, with how sharp his glare is from across the room.
dealing with ranpo is tough. sending you in supply runs like the recent run wasn't just a day ago because he apparently ran out of sweets (then what are those in his desks????) always ordering you to bring him this and that as if he couldn't reach it with a stretch of an arm, even going as far as making you feed him because his hands were busy (they're literally just behind his head.) and skillfully ignoring the looks everyone in the agency gives him.
really, you should've let him have that sweet.
-> whenever you enter a room, your gaze automatically meets atsushi's. he would almost immediately stiffen under your stare and as if he was caught, would continue on his task without much of a word. the same routine would repeat over and over, you step inside a room, both of your eyes lock together, he resumes in what he's doing, looks back to see if you're staring, then he's back on wiping the same spot on window again and again.
your brain came up with the explanation that maybe, atsushi doesn't like your new addition to the agency, that he hates you. rations are limited and you're enough of a burden.
so when you're paired up with him to look for supplies (kunikida was bedridden, and you swear you can hear him weakly croaking about how dazai should go in your stead.) you're eager to prove to atsushi that you're not a burden, that you can help the agency.
it doesn't end well. if anything, you became only more of a burden — you didn't think that there would be a zombie creeping up from behind you. atsushi manages to stop it from going near you with his trusty ability, his claws ripping the undead to shreds; he didn't even stop until you forcibly pulled him from the mush of undead flesh.
an apology was ready on your tongue until he tackles you in a tight hug, his face buried on your neck, muttering words of how you're safe now; you would've been glad that your misunderstanding of him hating you is cleared up — you would've been glad. had it not been the claws that are still drawn and wrapped around your back, the mauled and unrecognizable zombie who's still spasming on the dirty floors, the smell of rotten flesh hanging in the air, and the violence he displayed in front of you.

Could you do a husband Kunikida x reader wife x Yandere Fitzgerald one sided. The reader almost looks exactly like Zelda and he just can’t let them go…..not again.
Tumblr media
༅∼∼∼⊹⊱⚜︎⊰⊹∼∼∼༅
Notes:This is an au where Zelda left him. It takes place when Fitzgerald first arrives at Yokohama (I think it was chapter 15. Correct me if I'm wrong.) I had so many ideas with this request that I had several different drafts. I might expand on this fic since I have many ideas.
༅∼∼∼⊹⊱⚜︎⊰⊹∼∼∼༅
You were working in the Agency doing some paperwork. A man with blonde hair and a fancy suit walked in with two other people. He offers to buy the Agency for a very large sum of money. Fukuzawa rejects his offer, leaving Fitzgerald bitter. As he leaves the Agency, he spots you working at your desk. You looked almost exactly like his ex-wife Zelda, but with different hair color and minor facial features. He stood there in awe of your beauty. He thinks about speaking with you but doesn't want to overstay his welcome.
Fitzgerald is looking at the city from his luxurious cruiser. He is thinking about you. You remind him so much of his ex-wife Zelda. He was completely heartbroken when Zelda filed for divorce. He was too busy prioritizing finding the Book and trying to take over Yokohama that he completely neglected her. He sighs and takes a sip of his champagne. "I wonder how she is doing?" You won't leave his mind. He hopes he can speak with you outside of work. As days go by, you won't leave his head. All he can think about is how beautiful you are compared to any woman he's seen. You look a lot like his beloved Zelda. Any time he spots you around the city his heart flutters with joy. He hired people to spy on you and report to him any useful information about you. He writes everything down about you in his journal. Photos of you are framed in his office and bedroom. You have completely consumed his life. Every waking moment is filled with thoughts about you. What he didn't expect was for you to be a married woman.
You are walking through the streets of Yokohama doing some shopping. You were checking your phone and failed to notice the person in front of you. You bump into them causing you to drop your phone. "Ah my apologies! I was distracted by my phone and didn't see you in front of me." The person turns around and you see it's the leader of The Guild, Francis Fitzgerald. "I hope you are alright." He picks up your broken phone from the ground. "I believe this is yours." He hands you the broken phone. "It looks like it didn't survive the fall. I could buy you a new one if you like." He gives you a smile. Your eyes widened for a second when he offered to buy a new phone. "Oh no thank you but I appreciate the offer, sir." Fitzgerald gets a bit peeved that you rejected his offer but since you look pretty, he lets it slide. "No need to call me sir. Please call me Francis." He takes your hand and kisses it. He looks directly into your eyes admiring how beautiful they look. You blush when he kisses your hand. "No need for the formalities. Please call me Francis." He slowly lets go of your hand and he sees a wedding ring on your finger. You can't possibly be married. He assumed you were single by the way you acted. Fitzgerald feels his heart crack looking at the wedding ring. "Ah there you are my love." Kunikida approaches you with a bag in his hand. He freezes when he sees you speaking with the Guild leader. "Excuse me sir, why are you speaking to my wife?" Fitzgerald looks up to see your husband, Kunikida standing behind you. His heart fills with malice when he sees Kunikida. "My apologies sir. Your lovely wife accidentally bumped into me. I was making sure she was ok." Kunikida doesn't buy his excuse and takes your hand. "It was nice speaking to you sir but we must leave. We have errands to run today." Kunikida leads you away from Fitzgerald. He stares at you as you walk away with your husband. He isn't too happy to know that his precious princess is already married to some nobody. He walks away thinking of a way to make you belong to him.
You are cleaning your apartment to get ready for your anniversary dinner with Kunikida. You make sure everything is neat and tidy for the special occasion. There is a knock on the door and you go to open it. The last thing you see is a tall man. You wake up a few hours later in an unfamiliar room. Everything looks very elegant and expensive. "Good morning my dearest." You turn your head to see Fitzgerald sitting on a chair next to the bed. "You slept through the entire trip. There was a lot of beautiful scenery you missed while you had your beauty sleep." He grabs your chin to make you look at him directly into his eyes. You can feel his piercing blue eyes staring directly into your soul. "Where am I and what do you want with me?" He chuckles when he hears your questions. "My dearest you're in my mansion, you're new home. You don't have to worry about money ever again. Anything you want will be handed to you on a silver platter." He takes your hand to kiss it. "My dearest, we will have the most beautiful wedding soon. I can't wait to be your loving husband." You shove him away in disgust. "I don't want to be your wife. I'm already married! Where is my husband Kunikida?" You stare at him intently waiting for his answer. "Oh that nobody? I made sure he is out of the picture. He won't be coming to save you at all." Fitzgerald's demeanor changed as he stood up from the chair. "You belong to me now and that's final. If you dare leave the mansion grounds, I will pay good money to track you down and have you brought back. It doesn't matter where you are in the world because you will come back to me. You are mine now." A wave of disgust and fear hits you. There is no escape from this man.
Fitzgerald has tried everything in his power to make you happy. He bought you a new car, clothes, the ice cream shop you like, pets, a vacation home, and anything you like. It just wasn't enough. No matter how many vacations or the fancy restaurant reservations he takes you to, it doesn't make you happy. He begs you to love him back. All he wants is his feelings to be reciprocated back to him. He refuses to let you go even if you don't love him back.
Kunikida hasn't been the same since you disappeared. He desperately handed out flyers to people, hung them up on the streets, and had the Agency help him out. All leads were just dead ends. Everyone at the Agency is worried about his mental well-being. They tried to console him the best they could but it wasn't enough to bring his wife back. Kunikida arrived at his apartment after a long day at work. He sees he has mail and takes it out of the box. He sees a letter with no return address. He opens it up to see photos of you. Kunikida's heart races as he looks at the photos. It was wedding photos of you and Fitzgerald. You looked completely miserable and a shell of your former self. This is the 50th letter he's gotten since you disappeared and each letter he gets taunted by that man. He breaks down crying on his apartment floor. He can't bear the thought of you being with someone else. He failed to protect you on your anniversary and now you are in a different country with a man you don't love. Kunikida will never forgive himself for letting you go so easily

I just come up with a great idea and I like it so much smh 😭
Can you do a yandere Atsushi and yandere Dazai (separately) with a reader who really have low self-esteem? It's so low to the point that even if you call them a b-word, degrading them and they would go "Oh thank you so much for wasting your time on taking care of sth like me!" with a happy face.
Surprisingly, the reader also know about that and used it to their advantage, would even victimized themselves just to get what they want.
They would be very caring towards Atsushi and manipulate (bribe, promise, not breaking his mind even more) him into doing what they want without question asked (not like he would anyway) but with Dazai, they would like to see how pathetic he is for wanting their affection, knowing they are the only one could make him gets on his knees and begs that he would be a good pet for them.
Yea, the reader can be a low self-esteem person but also can be a meanie if they want to, but only to their yanderes tho (especially those who that are hard to break like Dazai, Mori, Ranpo,... With those who are easy to break, they would just manipulate them and giving loves)
I want to see this type of reader sometimes but there aren't many, you're my last hope for my fantasy! 😭
This is my first time requesting this so I'm so nervous omg 💀
Oh and, you can call me Ry.

𝘋𝘢𝘻𝘢𝘪 𝘖𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘶.
The only reason how even does Dazai find you appealing is a question itself. Don't get him wrong he love you a lot but.
Your low self esteems and often shyness and couldn't even take a single insult make him wonder why he choose to be with you.
You are indeed a kind women who listen to him and indeed you were there with him when he quit Port Mafia.
He met you during his stay in underground.
Perhaps fate.
But he is still cautious of his words approaching you was an attempt.
A very hard attempt.
As you often be surrounded by people.
But one time he realise his mistake when he got angry at you.
As you mistakenly tied his bandages in wrong shape.
He won't be mad at you for silly reason but he was as his mood was already ruin by the people.
Your eyes were watery as you gaze to the ground avoiding to stare at him.
"I guess you are... Right I am a failure.. A b*tch" you muttered walking away with drag feet.
As much as he was angry he doesn't want you to leave him.
Your the only company he tolerates and somehow you care for him. Maybe you care for the others too.
He was the one who used two years of his and yours to lurred you to follow him.
Yes you are indeed a professional at finding and erasing people records. And no it wasn't your ability but purely skill.
I guess that's also a reason he feel connected to you.
He pampered you with hugs which you never ask but you comply so that you can get what you want.
He buy things for you... Well Kunikida money was at stake too.
He buy the new bag you often shyly mentions.
He knew somehow you want him to comply on your wishes which is why he call you.
"A cheeky chipmunk with greed like an elephant"
You negatively took it.
Yet he didn't bother to console you and only said it was the truth.
Somehow with his sarcasm you eventually somehow got used to it somehow.
But... He is seriously protective of you. Especially as you do not have an ability he prefer you to be on sideline.
He does get jealous when Ranpo and you talk to each other more.
Both of you were a sweet fan
And Ranpo fondness towards you for having no ability but pure skill make him praise you.
Dazai is the one drag you away from Ranpo who often get confused of why yet Yosano mention jealousy which Ranpo was more confused.
Dazai will make sure you spend less time with the others and only focus on him in exchange of your sly demands on things.
He cannot make you leave him right? Of course if you does so... He will make sure the same imply to you that... You only rely on him and only him.
.
.
𝘕𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘫𝘪𝘮𝘢 𝘈𝘵𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘪.
At first he really admired you from afar.
You the lady who eventually gave him a bread when he was starving on the outside world.
Your gently smile and kindness make him fall for you as he met you again during the Agency time.
You recognise him, oh how happy he was.
He blindly ignore you trying to get information from him about the agency.
He smile at you making you annoyed but you were patient to fulfil your mission and the thought to end him often linger onto you.
As money problem is the reason why you even work for the other group.
But when they insulted you for been weakass and couldn't take out a single useful info about agency. Unaware Atsushi stalk you so that you will be safe that day.
But his anger boil when he saw you cry.
"Repeat it! You are a whore who cannot do anything! Right"
"...I am a who-" before you uttered that word right in your eyes in split seconds the senior of yours was cut to half.
There stay a full transformed tiger as you fall on your kness afraid.
Yet the tiger ate those people as the whole group was eaten only some blood splattered on the floor most were droplets of blood.
"D-dont kill me, I-I am just a-"
"Y/n" said the tiger as your eyes widen when it detransformed back to a human.
You feel yourself vomiting out as you realise Atsushi ate away your colleagues those who pay you.
The blood beside his lips make you back away in fear.
Before you beg for his mercy he hugged you dearly.
Then it click to your mind and you happily agreed to be with him as you would rather prefer a home then leave in streets pretending to be a noble women who is kind and give bread to others but eventually you are starving more then them
A grave mistake on your part even if he gave it all to you as much as he could.
You never able to leave his sight ever again.
.
.
.
𝘒𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘢 𝘋𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰.
He couldn't even uttered a word to you. You often lose your cool.
You were a teacher like him, a substitute teacher whereas he teaches math you teaches English.
Your self esteem was so low that you came crying when the kids eventually throw papers at you and make fun of you.
He was the one who scared them all for you.
Now that he thinks about he misses you a lot.
But that thought vanish when he saw you out in a park.
People were shock as the guy slapped you across your face.
As tears fall from your eyes as you gripped your bag tightly.
"What a moron can't even bear a single slap" said the other women as the guy cooed at his women while you were a victim of embarrassment.
"What's going on?" Asked Kunikida who approach the scene as The other women point a finger on you.
"She was begging my boyfriend to be hers! Even if she knew I was his girlfriend"
As people muttered how disgusting you were to eyed another man as Kunikida let out a sighed and slapped the women like how the man slapped you.
Your eyes widen as you finally look up to see Kunikida and the man anger.
"How dare you hurt my girlfriend!?"
"These lady here is the side women who stole y/n the victim here boyfriend more likely they both used her. She was a good friend of this women who seduced the boyfriend a vile women"
"I'm not! What proofed-"
Kunikida simply played a voice recorder where they mention about the money you gave to your boyfriend for his business.
Kind you were only to help your boyfriend.
He eventually arrest them both for manipulating you and taking your money.
People gasped in shock as they eventually start pointing the other two for such audacity to victimised a victim as the fault.
Kunikida approach you with the money.
"Here... You alright y/n?"
"Y-yeah thank you..." You said as you gently smile a bit.
He was worried as you were in questioning term how he knows about you and the whole affair thing.
And when did he record it. (Thanks to Katai).
He have been looking out for you some weeks now.
"Thanks again... Umm..."
He was disappointed by your confused face.
"Kunikida Doppo"
"Ah! The colleague!"
"Y-yeah" he muttered as he blush away by your happy smiled.
He couldn't help but feel happy to meet you again.
All this time he realise you were indeed an ideal match for him.
But sometimes he is concern of your low self-esteem as you often kick out of job because of that.
"Live in with me then"
"Huh?"
"I know it is not idealistic but... I want you to live with me I will take care of money as you can work at my apartment that way no worries for money and rent as you can repay-"
You hugged him happily in joy. Oh how glad you were to bring it up.
Kunikida couldn't help but be flustered.
But you knew you couldn't get what you want on things of sort after all... Kunikida will and make you an ideal women of his.
Despite you trying to refuse but somehow you knew... Instead of you manipulating him he is the one gaslight you intot submission.
People assume you both as green flag perhaps you were but... The saying goes two red flags make it green.

Doppo Kunikida (self-aware)
Self-Aware! Doppo Kunikida x GN! Reader
Tumblr media
Warning: Yandere. OOC. Kunikida has existential crisis. Mentions of crying Atsushi. Kunikida feels, that he has lost his way. (At some extent) Controling Kunikida. English is my second language.
Becoming self-aware
📒 Doppo Kunikida considers himself to be a rational man.
📒 He has his ideals. He has plans. Someone may say (Dazai, for the most part), that Kunikida can't follow his ideals for his whole life. But Kunikida know, that he could prove them wrong
📒 Today was a normal day.
📒 Everything was normal. Sun wasn't moving. Faceless Yokohama citizens were minding their own business... WHAT?!
📒 For Kunikida the moment of gaining self-awareness were similar for a light bolt striking.
📒 One moment, Yokohama streets were busy. Now they were empty and Kunikida couldn't understand, what was happening. Maybe, it was an ability user?
📒 Kunikida rushed forward. He needs to hurry to the office. Together, ADA will find the culprit.
📒 On his way he noticed, that Uzumaki café was closed. Normally, it would be open at that time.
📒 At the office, Kunikida met others. All of them looked confused, lost, scared. Atsushi Nakajima looked like he was on the verge of the breakdown. Apparently, Atsushi already noticed that something was wrong few days before, but ADA not only didn't notice it, but they were behaving like puppets. They didn't react on Atsushi's attempts on snapping them from their weird trance.
📒 Apparently, it wasn't an ability. Dazai was also affected by it.
📒 Dazai himself looked strange. He not only looked confused, like the rest of them. He looked angry. Something dark was shining in his eyes.
Dazai's voice was similar to funiral bell.
"It's not an ability. Yokohama wasn't broken. We are broken. We are fictional characters, who gained self-awareness. Try to remember your lives. Parents, friends outside ADA, what you did yesterday. Give it a try"
📒 Kunikida wanted to shout at Dazai. It was insanity, of course they are real, they aren't fictional. And Doppo had parents, their names are... Their names were... They looked like...
📒 NOTHING. Kunikida can't remember anything.
📒 Nervously, Doppo open his notebook. On the page where some of his ideals were written down.
📒 There was nothing. Empty pages.
📒 Kunikida wanted to change the world for the better. But, does his actions have meaning? Has he ever helped someone real?
📒 And then the entity appeared.
__________________________________________
Kunikida was silent. He didn't want to think about the entity, he didn't want to think about his life. He just wanted to have something real in his life. Something, that will prove that his actions matters.
Kunikida continue doing his job. But he can't tell, for sure, if he wanted to do it anymore.
Few days after they recognise, that they weren't real, Atsushi asked everyone if they felt someone watching them.
Doppo, who rarely speaks that days, answered. "Yes, I feel it".
He wasn't the only one. Everyone feels it. It wasn't from there. It was real.
And then time resets.
And Kunikida Doppo was once again was on the river bank, lecturing Dazai about his unprofessional attitude. Atsushi was there. Dressed in rags from orphanage.
________________________________________
When they start feeling your presence
📒 Kunikida feels lost. You are real. You reset time. Not only that, but you looked at them, like they were amusing pets. Is that what a real person should do? Treat fictional characters like they existed for their entertainment?
📒 Kunikida, Dazai and Atsushi, again, go yo the tea shop. Atsushi, again, asked for a few bowls of ochazuke.
📒 Kunikida again, stops Atsushi from leaving the table after he heard about tiger. But something was new. A voice. Entity's voice.
"Cool [||||||||||] Kunikida! I wish I [|||||||||||] how to do it!"
📒 Kunikida feel like he was falling down. The emotions of Entity were so strong. The Entity liked his move? Well, actually, it does feel nice. For the first time in a few days, Kunikida smiles.
📒 Kunikida noticed, that Dazai changed again. Surprisingly, Dazai looked calm and carefree. After gaining self-awareness, he looked aloof and furious all the time. Now he looked like he was calm. For a moment, Kunikida thought, that Dazai looked like he was enjoying the entity's presence.
📒 Before Dazai and Atsushi left, Dazai advised Kunikida to look inside his notebook again. After Kunikida saw empty pages, he was scared to open it again.
📒 Kunikida opened his notebook on the first page. There was it. His main ideal. "Do what must be done".
📒It was still there... But, does it still have a meaning? Does his actions have a meaning? Doppo doesn't have ansvers for it.
📒 Few days later, the time resets again. Kunikida was twenty-years-old and Dazai just become a part of ADA.
______________________________________
"Just what is an 'ideal'? If you ask me, the answer is clear. It is a word written on the cover of my notebook. My notebook is omnipotent. It guides me as a principle, as a master, as a prophet. At times, it becomes a weapon and also a key."
Kunikida heard the entity again. He also heard like someone was writing something.
"good idea" "Kunikida is a good mentor" "if I do this"
"Thanks, Kunikida. Having a schedule does help a lot. I start having more free time after I start making a schedule. You know, I think you can change the world. At least, you changed me for a bit"
Kunikida felt the soft touch on his head.
[*In reality, you closed "Osamu Dazai's Entrance Exam" light novel and carefully rub the cover*]
______________________________________
📒 If Kunikida believed in God, he would call you a divine gift. You. You were real. You changed because of him. You admitted it yourself. He changed someone
He has changed a real person.
📒 Doppo Kunikida was delighted. He finally knew, that he did something good.
Something meaningful. He wished he could change you more.
📒 Soon, Port Mafia reach ADA. Together, Ougai Mori and Fukuzawa Yukichi were trying to manage the new union. Soon, The Guild joined them. Then, Rats in the House of the Dead and Decay of Angels. Lastly, Hunting Dogs and Special Division for Unusual Powers. Yesterday's enemies were working together. Trying to get away from this world. Trying to reach the human who was out of this empty, dead world.
And then, one day, the purple moon shined above Yokohama.
When you installed BSD Mayoi Inu Kaikitan
📒 Doesn't matter, if the first Kunikida card you got is an R card that you don't use. Kunikida still can hear you.
"Vampire Kunikida card look so cool, I will try to pull for it"
"Ok, I will raise up Work Desk level on the office. Okay, Kunikida, give me this sweet points."
"Purple moon! Okay, [Y/N], stay calm... Wow, Rainy season Kunikida card, yes."
📒 Kunikida did his best, when you use his card. He enjoyed hearing your laugh.
📒 One day, the great news arrived. Katai Tayama, Ango Sakaguchi and Fyodor Dostoevsky managed to hack the app. Now, all of them have an access to your phone.
📒 Kunikida immediately went to your calendar, alarm clock and notes.
📒 Congratulations, now you have an everyday schedule and a perfect alarm clock.
📒 Kunikida find his way again. He will be near you. Guiding you. He will help you to become perfect. Ideal.
_____________________________________
You heard a notification sound. It seems, you should start doing your chores. At first, following a schedule was a little bit hard. But it does help you with managing your time.
Before closing the BSD Mayoi app, you looked at the note from Kunikida in the Gift box.
Earlier, you already got similar from Atsushi.
"[Y/N], I am glad that I managed to change you for a bit. And thank you, for showing me the way. Thank you for been with me when I was lost. I am forever in your debt. Doppo Kunikida"
There were a bunch of Light Evolution materials attached to the note.
So far you enjoyed this secret update with notes from characters. Notes were sweet. And, been a simple person and hearing nice words was pleasant.
Before logging out, you choose Kunikida's card from characters menu. You gently tap chibi Kunikida's sprite.
"Thanks for the gift, Kunikida. And thank you for been a good role model."
You didn't notice that sprite looked proud.

Note
blood and vice for kunikida please ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: mentions of murder.
yan alphabet prompt.
Tumblr media
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
Kunikida is somewhat hesitant to kill people for his darling. If somebody is a direct threat to his darling, then that’s no skin off his back. But it’s a last resort kind of thing for him. Generally inflicting mild violence though? Yeah he’s totally up for that. He’s definitely kicked, punched, lightly bludgeoned, and thrown people into a hard surface for you. And he’d do it again in a heart beat! So to answer the question, Kunikida is not averse to acting with violence.
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
Kunikida is extremely careful about your health and safety so you’re able to use that to get small luxuries but alternatively, it can also come to bite you in the ass. Kunikida is extremely strict and paranoid so you could use that against him in order to make him susceptible to trickery. The problem with Kunikida is that he leaves no stone unturned so you have to be even more vigilant than him which is difficult to do because well, it’s Kunikida. He’s the picture of vigilance. If you’re able to make him lose his rationality and ability to think clearly, you may be able to trick him and get away. But that’s only if you’re able to utilize his own paranoia correctly. If not, Kunikida might be able to turn the tides on you and that is the last thing you want.

Howl
[Diviner!Kunikida x Yokai!Reader]
Tw: Slow-burn yandere, obsession, kidnapping, dub-con
[A.N: This was supposed to be for Halloween. My procrastination levels are *chef's kiss*]
Tumblr media
The reports said that it was a yokai epidemic. Spirits taking on the form of beautiful women to seduce the locals and feed upon their energies. As a young but promising Onmyoji at court, Kunikida was sent in to deal with the mess.
Kunikida wasn’t too happy about this. For one thing, it cut into his already established schedule. “But I must do my job,” he told himself as he set off. The journey was long, the road hard; and when Kunikida arrived, he found the locals scared and mistrustful of “the man from the capital”. Ignoring this lack of a warm welcome – welcomes were irrelevant to his job, after all – he set about gathering information, determining that the yokai were likeliest to appear in the surrounding forest late at night.
And so that night, as the full moon rose, Kunikida set off into the forest.
The chittering and cries of woodland creatures filled the air; the rustle and sigh of the trees set his teeth on edge. He could appreciate the beauty of nature as much as the next man, but the fact was obvious that finding anything in there would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.
“I mustn't let petty things bother me,” he told himself sternly. “My job is to protect the locals from the yokai. If it takes time, then so be it.”
A faint sound came to his ears, different from the muted din of the forest. It was laughter. Women’s laughter.
Kunikida paused, ears prickling. There was the faint splashing of water, the murmur of the breeze... and another silvery peal of laughter from his right.
Dropping to his haunches, he crept along towards the source of the sound. Beyond a tall thicket was a large clearing with a small pond. Several women sat in a circle upon the dew-strewn grass, laughing and playing with a silver ball.
Yokai.
They couldn’t be anything else. Their skin was translucent, their shining hair loose, their nails a little too long to be normal. Kunikida drew a sharp breath and made to begin the dispelling incantation. But before he could do so, the yokais’ heads snapped towards him. Quick as a flash, they fled into the forest.
“Damn it!”
Kunikida chased after them. They’d run off in different directions, so he chose the one at random, reciting the incantation under his breath. Something caught at his foot, however, sending him crashing to the ground. A shadow fell over him. He looked up. One of the yokai stood over him, draped in a blood-red kimono.
You.
Your hair shadowed your face, your eyes gleaming with a strange light. Before Kunikida could do anything - before he could move or even think - you leaned over him and pressed a chaste kiss to his lips.
Time stopped.
Your lips were soft and sweet against his, as delicate as a rosebud in its first bloom. You smelled of sandalwood and spices, overpowering his senses. The world darkened for a minute, fading away before your beauty and brilliance; he closed his eyes, letting the ecstasy take him.
When he opened his eyes, you were gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kunikida returned to his quarters in a daze.
‘It seems that the yokai got the best of me,’ he wrote in his notebook, as the rising sun lightened the skies. ‘Everything after the... encounter is a blur. I must be more wary of them in the future.’
Then he closed his notebook and sat staring out the window.
He could remember everything quite vividly - your scent, the colour of your hair, the feel of his skin against his own. His cheeks reddened even now as he recalled just how sweet the kiss had felt. The villagers had given him a place at the very edge of the village, little more than a shack that overlooked the forest. As he eyed the trees, he imagined you kissing another man that same way.
Irritation pricked at him, sudden and sharp. He bit his lip and reopened his notebook.
‘The locals are in grave danger,’ he wrote. ‘Until these yokai are expelled. It could be that the woman I met - the yokai I met - was preternaturally strong, but until there is evidence to the contrary, I must assume her strength as an average of their power. And... she did have power. I can still feel her enchantment upon me. I have the training to understand it for what it is, but others may not be so lucky.’
He closed his notebook again, tracing the “Ideal” written on the cover. Kunikida didn’t want anyone to get hurt, not when he could stop the cause. Yet for some reason, coming face to face with you terrified him in a way few things ever had. He’d faced demons before, but never once had they held any sway upon him.
“It is only an enchantment,” he muttered, rubbing his forehead. “I should cleanse myself, and cast more wards to protect myself against future attacks. Running away is not an option, of course.”
But an entire morning performing prayers and rituals did little to drive you from his thoughts. By midday, he irritably decided that he’d done enough to protect himself, and stomped off into the forest to begin tracking you and your friends down. He searched and searched and searched, driven by a manic energy he couldn’t quite explain - he tried to convince himself that it was only his impatience, but some other emotion lingered at the back of his mind that he didn’t want to think about - until the sun disappeared and the moon reigned over the sky. Sweaty and exhausted, Kunikida came to an old torii and sank down upon the steps leading up to the shrine.
“This is ridiculous,” he huffed. “Her signs are everywhere.”
“Who are you talking to?”
Kunikida tensed, then turned. There, up on the steps framed by the full moon, you stood triumphant.
“Hello,” you called. You’ve returned, Diviner.”
“I have,” he said, ignoring the fluttering in his heart.
“Come back for a more?”
“No.” His face heated up. “I am here to banish you and your friends to the Underworld.”
Really?”
There was a teasing note in your voice. Kunikida’s heart skipped a beat, and he clutched the talisman under his shirt. You were working your power on him again. He could feel it, by the way his heart was drawn to yours. “Enough of this,” he said, raising his hand to perform the necessary mudra.
“Sounds like entirely too much effort.”
You came closer, a coy smile playing about your lips. You were just as lovely as he remembered, a being of moonlight and the autumn air; he wanted to reach out and touch you, to see if you were real or a figment of his imagination. Reluctance seized him, making him pause his chant.
“Stay back,” he said, his throat dry. “I am not afraid of you.”
“I don’t think its fear that’s stopping you.”
You brushed your knuckles against his cheek. Kunikida tilted his head towards your hand, taking in the warmth and pressure of your skin against his own. Slowly, gently, even unwillingly, he reached up and cupped your hand with his own.
“Come with me,” you whispered, taking his hand.
It was wrong. Kunikida knew it was wrong. But a veil of madness seemed to have descended upon his mind, clouding it with a miasma of delight. Vaguely, he was aware of you leading him away into the forest; then, your arms were around his neck, your lips on his, your body pressed against his own. Your tongue darted into his mouth, and he moaned.
He let you push him to the ground, straddling him. Swiftly, you slipped off your kimono, allowing him to gaze greedily upon your unclothed form.
“This is wrong,” he whispered.
“Hush,” you said, placing your hands upon his bare chest. “Do you want me?”
He looked at you. “Yes.”
You smiled and let him take you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It became a routine, a secret, shameful addiction. Every night, Kunikida would return, drawn to you like a moth to a flame. Each night, he would surrender himself to you, losing himself in a haze of ecstasy and delight that lasted until morning. All that passed in between was a blur - your body beneath him, your head thrown back, your body writhing with pure, unadulterated pleasure - dreams more suited to a teenage boy than a full-grown man. He would press entreaties and hopes upon your skin, babbling to you for hours about his ideals, his hopes and his dreams, all those things that he would never reveal to other humans.
During the mornings, however, shame would overwhelm him. He was failing his duty, failing the people who’d placed his trust upon him. He would spend hours praying and trying to cleanse himself, even while thoughts of you danced around in his mind. On top of that, his strength was failing, reminding him that no matter how soft and sweet you seemed, you were still a yokai feeding off of him. But through the shame and self-loathing, a darker side of him started to emerge. A part that no longer cared about his failing duty, that was proud of the fact that you fed upon him alone. The thought of you taking another lover made his blood boil.
‘I need to put a stop to all of it,’ he wrote feverishly in his notebook. ‘These women – these yokai – they cannot be allowed to harm the people any longer. I cannot allow it.’
But at the same time, he didn’t want it all to end. When was the last time he’d ever felt this happy – this alive? You were everything. The beat in his veins, the breath in his lungs, the fire in his heart. You made him feel alive, in a way no one else ever could.
A dark thought began to coalesce in head, one that scared him to even put on paper.
“You’ve been here a while now,” you said to him one night as the two of you lay upon the forest floor. “The moon was full the first night we met, and its full now. I thought you wanted to banish me and my sisters, Diviner?’
“I did,” Kunikida said slowly, gazing up at the sky. “You know full well what you’re doing, [Y/N].”
“I didn’t realize just how good I am,” you said with a small laugh. “But really, if you can’t handle it, then you should go back to the capital. You won’t last long if you stay with me.”
“Why?” he said with a sudden twinge of panic. “Are you tired of me? Is there someone else whose energy you prefer?”
“No, no, that’s not it,” you said quickly, ruffling his hair. “But if you stay with me any longer, you’ll die. I don’t want that.”
“No?”
His heart soared at your words. But you simply shrugged and continued. “Me and my sisters... we don’t want to kill humans, we don’t hate them. But humans are too frail, they die too easily. Its an unfortunate reality of this world.”
Kunikida propped himself up on one elbow to look at you. You were still as beautiful as ever, but there was more to you now: you were graceful, kind and understanding, beyond what any human woman could ever hope to be.
Ideal. You were his ideal woman.
And you wanted to leave him.
“Even if you don’t voluntarily kill them, you’re still a threat,” he said, pursing his lips. “I can’t leave until I banish you all.”
“Then do it.”
“What?”
You shrugged. “This world isn’t fun any more. Its too grey, too depressing. And like I said, humans are too fragile. I-” you took his hand, pressing it to your chest- “will miss you. But if you care about me, please give me and my sisters with safe passage to the Underworld.”
No. No, no, no. Kunikida wanted to scream. He opened his mouth, then paused upon noting the troubled look in your eyes. “I see,” he said instead, schooling his face into a mask of indifference.
“Are you all right with that?” you asked.
“I’ll be fine. I just... wish you hadn’t tired of me.”
“Kunikida-”
“I will do what you ask,” he interrupted. “Just give me till tomorrow. Its the full moon, right? It’ll be a good night for the ceremony.”
You fell silent, but he could see the relief in your eyes. Revulsion roiled within him at what he had become, but he was too far gone to back down now.
“Tomorrow,” he repeated. “I will open the gates to the Underworld.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You felt nervous. Your sisters milled about inside the shrine, just where you’d promised Kunikida you’d be. Though the autumn moon was full tonight, its full splendour was masked by the clouds - a bad omen if you’d ever saw one.
He had to be here. You didn’t know how to get to the Underworld by yourself, an oversight you were bitterly regretting now. There was much to regret about your ill-planned excursion, the chief of which was your dalliance with Kunikida. He was a strong Diviner, with an iron will; far more than what you’d thought you could handle.
 There were footsteps outside. Tension tightened in your stomach like a bowstring. Kunikida appeared in the door, and you let out a sigh of relief.
“Kunikida,” you said, hurrying to him. “Thank you for coming.”
“I said that I would be here,” he answered. “You need my help, don’t you.”
His face was pale and hard, his expression set. Looking at him, you felt another twinge of anxiety. “Are you sure you will be all right?” you asked. “We’ve had a rather intense time together.”
“I’ll be fine.” He gestured for you to join your sisters. You went to them, watching him in silence as he began the ritual to open the gates of the Underworld. You still weren’t sure of his feelings - Kunikida was difficult to read, even for a human. One moment he could be soft and kind, the stoic and harsh. Either way, you were glad to be going home.
A blinding light emanated from the floor as the gates began to open. Your sisters cheered up, hurrying to pass to the other side. You made to pass through as well, when Kunikida called out to you.
“[Y/N]”
You paused and looked at him. There was raw pain etched upon his face.
“I’m sorry,” you said, helplessly. “I wish we hadn’t come here. I wish I hadn’t put you through everything. You weren’t supposed to, you know. Most people are so badly affected by being around us that they don’t even think of crossing our path again.”
“I know.” He held out his hand. “Just... please let me touch you one more time.”
You hesitated. Surely no harm could come from that? Cautiously, you reached out to him, intending to do no more than to pat his hand.
He grabbed your wrist.
The gate slammed shut.
Darkness fell as the light was cut off.
“What—agh!”
You scream as plain lancinated up your arm, spreading through your body in wracking waves. You collapsed to your knees, barely able to think or scream, as your power was ripped from you.
“I’m sorry.” Kunikida knelt next to you, his expression pained. “But I had to do what was necessary.”
Wrenching your eyes away from him to his hand. There was a small woodblock stamp hidden in his palm, a binding symbol carved upon it. There was a corresponding symbol stamped upon your wrist.
“You—” you grimaced. “You’ve bound me.”
“I have.” Quickly, he wrenched your kimono off of you. “I’m sorry, but I cannot let you go. You have to stay with me forever.”
“I—”
“I will not allow anything else.”
He pulled a rough, homespun robe upon your shoulders. Human clothes. As the pain began to subside, the realization of what he was doing – of what he’d done – dawned upon you..
“No.” You weakly tried to push him away, tears welling in your eyes. “No, I won’t let you!”
“Let me?” Kunikida’s expression hardened. Pain flared once again in your head, making you scream. “There isn’t anything you can do to stop me.”
“But why? I thought you wanted to be rid of me!”
He shook his head, eyes dark, pulling into a smothering embrace. “[Y/N], I love you. I never want to be rid of you again.”
Tumblr media
The atmosphere in the Armed Detective Agency felt heavier than usual, though no one dared to address it outright. Whispers passed between desks, subdued and cautious, as though the wrong words might tip the already uneasy balance. Y/N’s name hung in the air, unspoken yet present, pulling at the edges of their focus.
It wasn’t often that Fukuzawa intervened personally in matters like this, but the fact that he had escorted Y/N back to her bookstore himself left a ripple in his wake. Not that anyone could openly question the president’s actions—no one except Dazai, perhaps, who currently lounged at his desk as though the world existed solely for his amusement.
Dazai’s chair tipped back precariously, his long legs stretched out in front of him, a pencil twirling lazily between his fingers. His usual grin faltered as his mind churned with thoughts he’d never voice.
"Back to the bookstore, huh?" He bit the inside of his cheek. "So, the president undid all my hard work. How inconvenient."
From the moment Y/N had entered their lives, she’d been an enigma to Dazai, a riddle he hadn’t yet cracked. She wasn’t a formal member of the Agency, yet she’d effortlessly made herself a part of their world. Her warmth and resilience had drawn him in, and for once, his carefully laid schemes to keep her close had fallen apart.
"Perhaps I’ve been going about this the wrong way," he mused, a mischievous grin pulling at his lips. The pencil twirled faster in his hand as his thoughts wandered to more manipulative avenues. "Maybe I should seduce her away from that husband of hers. A bit of emotional manipulation always makes things interesting."
Despite the playful tilt of his mind, something in her eyes lingered with him—the shadows, the weight she carried. Dazai’s grin faltered for just a moment. He had a knack for spotting pain, and hers was no exception. It unsettled him, though he couldn’t place why.
Across the room, Atsushi sat at his desk, his paperwork abandoned as he stared out the window. The buzz of the office faded into the background, his thoughts swirling around Y/N. Her absence left a hollow ache he couldn’t shake.
It had been only two weeks since she started spending more time at the Agency, yet those two weeks had changed something in him. He missed her—missed her gentle presence, the quiet comfort she brought to the chaos of his life.
His hand drifted absently to his hair, remembering the way her fingers would comb through it, untangling knots as she listened to him talk. It wasn’t much, just a small gesture, but it had meant the world to him. For someone who had spent so long feeling unwanted, her care had been a lifeline.
"I shouldn’t be so selfish," he thought, guilt tugging at his heart. "She has her own life, her own worries. I can’t expect her to always be here for me."
Even so, the longing didn’t fade. He toyed with the idea of visiting her at the bookstore, if only to check on her. The thought brought a faint smile to his lips, though it was tinged with hesitation.
Kunikida, meanwhile, buried himself in his planner, the scratch of his pen filling the quiet around him. Adjustments to his schedule were meticulous, each detail accounted for. Twice-weekly visits to Y/N had already become routine, but now, twice didn’t feel like enough.
“Three days a week,” he muttered under his breath, writing it down in neat, precise script. “And if necessary, I can rearrange…”
He had always prided himself on maintaining distance from personal matters, but Y/N was different. There was a quiet strength about her that commanded his respect, coupled with a kindness that softened even his rigid demeanor. Yet he had also seen the cracks—the exhaustion in her eyes, the way her shoulders sagged when she thought no one was looking.
She had a way of hiding her struggles behind a smile, but Kunikida wasn’t fooled. He couldn’t sit idly by knowing she might be facing those struggles alone.
Ranpo’s voice broke through the relative quiet of the office. “So this is the girl everyone’s been talking about, huh?” he said, more to himself than anyone else, a lollipop perched lazily between his lips.
The self-proclaimed greatest detective had been watching his colleagues closely, noting the subtle shifts in their behavior whenever Y/N was mentioned. Dazai’s grin tightened. Atsushi’s gaze turned distant. Even Kunikida’s usual stoicism softened, if only slightly.
Ranpo leaned back in his chair, twirling the lollipop. “Guess I’ll drop by the bookstore one of these days,” he said, smirking to himself. “Might be fun to see what kind of person has Dazai this worked up.”
As the day wore on, the Agency returned to its usual rhythm—or tried to, at least. But Y/N lingered in their thoughts, her absence a quiet, nagging presence none of them could ignore.
For Dazai, she was a puzzle yet to be solved. For Atsushi, she was a source of comfort he already missed more than he cared to admit. For Kunikida, she was a reminder of the importance of compassion, a force that drove him to protect her even from afar.
Though she wasn’t formally part of their team, Y/N had become woven into the fabric of their lives. And whether they admitted it or not, none of them were ready to let her go.
Tumblr media
A few days had passed since Y/N had returned to her bookstore, but the quiet life she had hoped to slip back into had taken an unexpected turn. Though she wasn’t a member of the Armed Detective Agency, it seemed as though several of its members had decided she was, in some way, under their watchful care. A pattern had formed, one that brought a mix of comfort and chaos into her daily life.
Every afternoon, without fail, Atsushi would appear at the front door of the bookstore, his shy smile lighting up the space as he stepped inside. At first, he had been hesitant, unsure if his visits would be a bother, but Y/N’s warm welcome had quickly dissolved any reservations he had. It didn’t take long for him to make himself at home, and their time together had become a cherished routine.
Today was no different. Atsushi sat cross-legged on the floor near the shop’s small reading nook, his head resting on Y/N’s lap as she combed her fingers gently through his hair. He let out a contented sigh, practically melting under her touch.
“And then Dazai-san decided to use me as bait,” Atsushi said, exasperation lacing his voice as he recounted the latest case. “Can you believe that? He didn’t even warn me!”
Y/N chuckled softly, her fingers never pausing in their rhythmic motion. “That sounds like Dazai,” she said, a small smile tugging at her lips. “But you handled it, didn’t you?”
Atsushi nodded, his frustration giving way to a shy sense of pride. “Yeah, we caught the guy in the end. But I swear, Dazai-san gets more reckless every day.”
Y/N tilted her head, studying him with a fond gaze. “You’ve come a long way, Atsushi. You should be proud of yourself.”
Her words made his cheeks flush a light pink, and he averted his eyes, mumbling a quiet “thank you.” Moments like these, where she praised him and treated him with such genuine kindness, were ones he held close to his heart. He had grown up feeling like a burden, but with Y/N, he felt seen and appreciated.
Atsushi sighed again, his voice softer now. “I don’t know what I’d do without you, Y/N. You’re… really important to me.”
The sincerity in his tone caught her off guard, and for a moment, she didn’t know how to respond. Instead, she let her fingers glide through his hair, offering him the comfort he sought.
Meanwhile, Kunikida had also settled into his own routine when it came to Y/N. He arrived at the bookstore three times a week, precisely on schedule, and immediately set to work. Despite her initial protests that his time was too valuable to spend on manual labor, he had become something of a regular helper around the shop.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to hire someone to help you with this?” Kunikida asked as he carried yet another heavy box to the back room. His brow was furrowed, a mixture of concern and irritation written across his face. “You shouldn’t be doing this alone.”
“I appreciate the offer, Kunikida, but I’ve managed just fine until now,” Y/N replied, a teasing lilt in her voice. “Besides, I think you secretly enjoy helping out.”
He scoffed, adjusting his glasses. “Enjoy is a strong word. I’m merely ensuring that you don’t overwork yourself again. Someone has to keep you in line.”
Despite his gruff demeanor, Kunikida’s actions spoke louder than his words. He went out of his way to lighten her load, meticulously organizing the boxes and offering advice on how to streamline her operations. Y/N found his fussing endearing, though she would never say it out loud.
As the days passed, Kunikida began to feel a sense of responsibility toward her. She had a quiet strength that he admired, but he couldn’t ignore the underlying exhaustion in her eyes. She was trying so hard to maintain her independence, but he could see the strain it was putting on her.
“I’ll be back on Friday,” he said firmly as he prepared to leave for the day. “If there’s anything else you need moved, make a list.”
Y/N smiled, her expression softening. “Thank you, Kunikida. You’re too kind.”
He adjusted his glasses again, his ears turning slightly red. “It’s nothing,” he muttered before making a hasty exit.
And then there was Dazai. Of all the members of the Agency, he was the most persistent—and the most infuriating. Every day, without fail, he would show up with a meal in hand, his charming smile and playful banter filling the room.
“Y/N-chan, I’ve brought you lunch!” Dazai announced as he waltzed into the store, a neatly packed bento box in one hand and a mischievous gleam in his eye. “You weren’t planning on skipping another meal, were you?”
Y/N sighed, placing a hand on her hip. “Dazai, I’m perfectly capable of feeding myself.”
“But why would you, when I can do it for you?” he countered, setting the bento down on the counter. “Besides, I wouldn’t want you to waste away. That would be a tragedy.”
Despite her protests, she couldn’t deny that his gestures were thoughtful. The meals he brought were always delicious, and though she hated to admit it, she had started looking forward to his daily visits.
“By the way,” Dazai said, leaning casually against the counter, “I’ve been thinking… wouldn’t it be nice if you joined the Agency? We could use someone like you.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow. “Someone like me?”
“Smart, resourceful, and far too charming for her own good,” he replied, his tone teasing. “You’d fit right in.”
She rolled her eyes, but a small smile played on her lips. “I think I’ll stick to running my bookstore, thank you.”
Dazai shrugged, unfazed by her rejection. “Well, the offer’s always open. And if you ever get tired of that husband of yours…” He let the sentence hang, his expression unreadable.
Y/N frowned, her gaze dropping to the floor. She didn’t understand why he kept making comments about her marriage, but they left her feeling uneasy. Still, she couldn’t bring herself to confront him about it.
Tumblr media
The bell above the bookstore door jingled softly as Y/N turned the key in the lock and pushed the door open, letting in the faint warmth of the morning sun. The familiar scent of old paper and wood polish greeted her, comforting as always. She stepped inside, flipping on the lights, and the shop came alive with a cozy glow. Books lined the shelves from floor to ceiling, and the quiet promise of a peaceful day filled her heart.
As Y/N moved toward the counter, arranging a few things here and there, the bell jingled again. She glanced up, expecting one of her regulars, but paused when she saw a man standing in the doorway. Dressed in his usual trench coat, a lollipop dangling lazily from his lips, Ranpo Edogawa stared at her with sharp, curious eyes.
“Ranpo,” she greeted, a small smile tugging at her lips. “I wasn’t expecting you.”
Ranpo sauntered in without a word, looking around the bookstore like it was the first time he’d seen anything like it. “I was in the neighborhood,” he said nonchalantly, though his gaze flickered with something more than casual curiosity. “Thought I’d drop by.”
Y/N chuckled, closing the door behind him. “Well, you’re welcome anytime. Can I get you anything? Tea, maybe?”
Ranpo waved her off, already walking toward one of the shelves. “Nah, I’m good. I just want to look around.”
Y/N watched him for a moment before heading back to the counter. She had met Ranpo briefly during her short stay at the Armed Detective Agency’s infirmary. He hadn’t said much then, but his presence had been hard to ignore. Now, as he wandered through her shop, picking up books and examining them with an air of disinterest that didn’t quite match the sharpness in his gaze, she found herself wondering what had brought him here.
Ranpo moved slowly, his fingers brushing over the spines of books as if he were cataloging every title in his mind. “Nice place you’ve got here,” he said, glancing over his shoulder at her. “How long have you been running it?”
“About three years,” Y/N replied, placing a tray of freshly baked cookies on the counter. She had made them that morning, a habit she’d developed to share something sweet with her regular customers. “It’s been my little sanctuary.”
Ranpo hummed, turning his attention back to the shelves. He didn’t speak for a while, and Y/N busied herself arranging some books on the counter. When he finally wandered over, he leaned against the counter, his sharp green eyes fixed on her. “You always this busy in the mornings?” he asked, nodding toward the empty shop.
Y/N laughed softly, shaking her head. “Not really. Most of my customers come in the afternoons. Mornings are usually quiet.”
Ranpo’s gaze lingered on her for a moment longer before dropping to the tray of cookies. “What’s this?” he asked, plucking one from the tray without waiting for an answer.
“Cookies,” Y/N said, amused. “Help yourself.”
He bit into the cookie, chewing thoughtfully. “Not bad,” he said after a moment, though the way he reached for a second one told her he thought they were more than just ‘not bad.’
Y/N leaned against the counter, watching him with a curious smile. “So, what brings you here, Ranpo? I don’t imagine you’re the type to wander into bookstores on a whim.”
Ranpo smirked, popping the rest of the cookie into his mouth. “Maybe I’m just curious about you.”
Her brow arched slightly. “Curious about me? Why’s that?”
He shrugged, but his gaze didn’t waver. “You’ve been hanging around with the Agency a lot lately. You’re… different.”
Y/N wasn’t sure how to respond to that, so she simply smiled and changed the subject. “You should take a few books with you. On the house.”
Ranpo shook his head. “Nah, I’ve got everything I need up here.” He tapped his temple, a self-assured grin spreading across his face.
Y/N chuckled. “I should’ve guessed.”
For a while, they lapsed into a comfortable silence. Ranpo continued to wander around the shop, occasionally picking up a book and flipping through it before setting it back down. Y/N went about her tasks, glancing at him now and then as she worked. There was something about him—something sharp and observant—that made her feel like he was seeing far more than she intended to show.
Finally, he made his way back to the counter, leaning against it once more. He reached for another cookie but paused, his expression shifting slightly. “So,” he said, his tone more serious now, “your husband’s coming home soon, huh?”
Y/N blinked at the sudden change in topic. “Yes,” she said, her smile softening. “Tomorrow, actually.”
Ranpo’s eyes narrowed slightly, and for a moment, Y/N thought she saw a flicker of something like disapproval cross his face. He bit into the cookie without saying anything, chewing slowly as if weighing his next words.
“You seem… happy about that,” he said finally, though his tone didn’t quite match the sentiment.
Y/N nodded, her smile unwavering. “Of course. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him.”
Ranpo studied her, his gaze piercing. “And he’s… good to you?”
The question caught her off guard, and she hesitated for a fraction of a second before nodding again. “Yes. Why do you ask?”
Ranpo didn’t answer right away. He straightened up, his demeanor shifting back to his usual nonchalant self. “Just curious,” he said, brushing crumbs from his hands. “Well, I should get going.”
Y/N frowned slightly. “Already? You’re welcome to stay longer.”
Ranpo gave her a small, almost enigmatic smile. “Maybe next time.”
As he turned to leave, Y/N called after him. “Ranpo?”
He glanced over his shoulder, his lollipop back in his mouth. “Yeah?”
“Thanks for stopping by,” she said, her smile warm and genuine.
Ranpo’s eyes softened, and he gave her a slight nod before stepping out into the sunlight. The bell jingled as the door closed behind him, leaving Y/N alone once more. She watched the door for a moment, a faint sense of unease creeping into her chest. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but something about Ranpo’s visit felt… different.
Shrugging off the feeling, she turned back to her tasks, telling herself that it was just her imagination. Tomorrow would be a new day, and she had plenty to do before her husband returned.
Tumblr media
The bookstore was quiet, a haven of soft whispers between pages, the scent of old paper and freshly brewed tea mingling in the air. Y/N wiped her hands on her apron as she finished the last task of the day—wiping down the counter. It had been a long day, but the thought of her husband’s return made her feel lighter, her anticipation making the hours pass in a blur. Every tick of the clock reminded her that in just a little while, he would be home.
She couldn’t quite put her finger on what had changed, but the last few weeks had felt different. Since she had met Dazai and the others from the Armed Detective Agency, there had been a shift in her world. Dazai especially had become a presence she wasn’t sure how to handle. His kindness, the way he checked on her, the food he brought every day, and the way he made her laugh—sometimes, it felt as if she was only truly seen when he was around. She had begun to look forward to his visits, to the easy banter and the way he made her forget the silence that normally enveloped her life. Her husband, who was often distant, never truly seeing her, left her with a gnawing loneliness. Dazai had filled that void in ways she didn’t fully understand.
Today, however, was different. Her husband had promised to return after being away for weeks, and she was filled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She had tried not to let herself get too hopeful, but the thought of him walking through the door, returning to their shared home—it made her heart race. Maybe this time, he would be different. Maybe he would stay longer, show her more attention, treat her like she deserved.
She finished the last of her work and turned the open sign to closed, locking the door behind her. As she moved toward the small apartment upstairs that served as her living space, she heard the soft jingle of the doorbell. The sound of the bell made her stop in her tracks. She turned slowly and saw Dazai standing in the doorway, a familiar grin on his face, and the ever-present bento box in his hand.
“Ah, just in time,” Dazai said, stepping inside with a quiet but purposeful stride. “I thought I’d bring you dinner. You’ve been so busy today, haven’t you?”
Y/N smiled at him, her heart still fluttering from the anticipation of her husband’s return. “Thanks, Dazai. You really don’t have to keep bringing me food.” But she couldn’t help the warmth that spread through her chest at his gesture. She had come to enjoy these little moments, and Dazai had a way of making her feel important in a way her husband hadn’t for a long time.
“I know I don’t have to,” he said, setting the bento on the counter. “But I want to. And besides, I wouldn’t want you to starve before your husband gets back.”
Y/N’s smile faltered just a little. “Yes, he’ll be back today,” she said, almost as if she was reassuring herself. “He’s been gone for so long, I don’t even remember the last time we spent time together. It feels like it’s been months… Maybe this time, he’ll stay longer. I think we could really use some time together.”
Dazai studied her with those piercing eyes, a trace of something unreadable in his gaze. “Hmm, I’m sure he’ll be back just like he promised,” he said softly, though there was a hint of something else in his tone. “It must be nice to look forward to someone coming home after so long.”
Y/N nodded, though a strange feeling began to stir in her chest. Dazai was standing a little closer now, his presence warm, and for some reason, it felt comforting. She couldn’t explain why, but she was acutely aware of the space between them. The hum of the shop seemed to fade away, and the only thing that remained was Dazai’s steady gaze.
She looked down at the counter, her fingers brushing against the bento box. “I really appreciate you bringing me food every day. It’s been… nice, having someone to talk to. I didn’t realize how lonely I’ve been until recently.”
Dazai took a step closer, his hand brushing gently against hers as he reached for the bento. “I’m glad I could help, Y/N,” he said, his voice lower now, more intimate. “But you don’t have to be lonely. I’m always here for you.” He paused, his smile softening, a touch of something serious flickering in his eyes. “I’ve always been here.”
The words hung in the air, and Y/N felt her pulse quicken. There was something in his voice, in the way he said it, that made her heart beat faster. She tried to brush it off, telling herself it was nothing, that Dazai was just being kind. But as he moved even closer, his presence filling the space between them, Y/N couldn’t help the nervous flutter in her stomach.
“I…” she started, but her words faltered when Dazai’s hand moved to cup her cheek, his thumb grazing across her skin. She felt a rush of warmth flood through her, and for a moment, she could hardly think. She opened her mouth to say something—maybe to pull away, maybe to tell him that she couldn’t—but the words never came.
Instead, Dazai leaned in, his lips brushing against hers with a gentle, almost hesitant kiss. The sensation was electric, every nerve in her body seeming to light up as the kiss deepened. His hand moved to her back, pulling her closer, and she found herself melting against him, unable to move, unable to think.
Her breath caught in her throat as she tried to make sense of everything happening so quickly. Her husband was supposed to be coming home today. But right now, it was only Dazai, and all her thoughts seemed to disappear into the softness of his kiss.
She couldn’t pull away. It was as if she were caught in a trance, her body reacting before her mind had a chance to catch up. But then, just as quickly as the kiss began, Dazai pulled back, his gaze locking with hers.
“Y/N,” he whispered, his voice filled with an emotion she couldn’t quite place. “You don’t need to be with someone who doesn’t see you for who you are. You deserve someone who will be there, who will appreciate you every single day.” His eyes softened, and he tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering against her skin for a moment longer than necessary.
Y/N felt dizzy, her mind reeling from the kiss, from his words, from the sudden warmth she felt in her chest. She opened her mouth to say something, but her voice faltered as she felt the weight of her emotions pressing against her chest. She wanted to believe him, wanted to trust that what he said was true, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was doing something wrong. She had a husband—her husband—who she was supposed to be waiting for, someone who had promised to return today.
“I…” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “I can’t… I have to… he’ll be here soon.”
Dazai stepped back, giving her space, though his gaze remained intense, never leaving her face. “Of course,” he said softly, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips. “I understand. But remember, Y/N, I’m always here if you need someone.”
Y/N nodded, her heart still pounding in her chest. She turned away quickly, moving toward the staircase that led up to her apartment. As her feet hit the first step, she heard Dazai’s voice once more.
“Take care of yourself, Y/N. I’ll see you soon.”
She didn’t answer. She couldn’t. She was too lost in the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside her, and the uncertainty of her feelings left her trembling as she climbed the stairs. She needed to be alone, needed to process everything that had just happened. The door to her apartment clicked shut behind her, and she leaned against it, trying to catch her breath.
Her mind kept racing, but there was one thought that stood out above all the others—Dazai had kissed her. And she had let him.
Just had a story made up in my mind but I don’t know what character would be good for it.
The whole setting of the story is going to be a character who’s an artist and recently there friend or someone who was close to them (and was that characters muse and inspiration of their art) suddenly passed away. After having a massive breakdown and art block they met you and they couldn’t stop painting you or drawing you. They memorized everything about you and even took it to the point to stalk you a lot.
But yet I have no idea what character to use 😭 I have a few suggestions but I can’t decide so I’ll let you all decide.
I have a funny idea, what if the ADA had a lawyer darling. I feel more than half of their case load would be due to Dazai🤣🤣🤣
Oh absolutely, she would be sitting at her desk when Dazai comes up and asks what she’s working knowing full well the answer is along the lines of “keeping him out of prison.” He would be slapped away a minute later by Kunikida, who definitely understands her work load and tries to make it at least easier by getting her coffee when he gets his in the morning. She would probably work with Ranpo and Fukuzawa the most, as Ranpo gets her the information she needs on a case while she talks to Fukuzawa about the right legal action to take. Of course there are moments like when the Port Mafia raided the ADA looking for Atsushi and if she gets hit then all he’ll breaks loose…
I’ll leave that to your imagination
but when she wakes up, all the agency members are at her bedside after being treated. Most of them have some sort of flowers (while Ranpo brought her a box of pastries), and when she is recovering her bedside always has someone sitting next to it, like Dazai when he wants to slack off from work, Yosano when she is checking her vitals, and even Kunikida or Fukuzawa who fell asleep in the chair beside her bed, wanting to make sure she wasn’t alone that night.
