WARNINGS: Slightly hinted Yandere, kidnapping, isolation

I do not take any responsibility for you reading this no matter which age group you are from!

If you don't know me (Hi, how is it going? Nice to meet you) then you might wonder why I post this under the yandere tag even though there isn't much of that in here (yet). This is a sneak peek of a bigger story which definitely has elements of yandere so I want to make sure that people who don't like reading yandere don't accidentally get on my blog. I respect their choice and boundaries.

You would assume playing an Otome game made you know everything about it was set in, helping its’ people and becoming a hero for them. But who would have thought that there was an entire kingdom ruled by one of the most powerful mages, who was only implied to exist in the game, hiding from the players’ eyes by being mentioned NOT EVEN A SINGLE TIME??! Funny. Interesting. Absolutely maddening. Maddening like the raven that got you into the kingdom in the first place. Yeah, getting over a huge rose bush wasn’t exactly what you would call “easy”.

But who were you to judge? After all, you were only a small individual who was such a huge fan of the game that when you found out who the datable character of Sunset Savanna you almost threw the console out of the window. Huh. This reminded you your friend the raven threw you over an overgrown houseplant surrounding an entire country.

Meeting the young-looking individual whilst hiding in the woods after falling from the sky was something you most certainly had not expected to happen. Heck, you would have rather believed that a pink cloud would fly down on your level and start singing mind-numbing tunes. But you were someone from a world in which swords weren’t exactly “in fashion” in battle so you didn’t expect one of those sharp toothpicks on your throat.

And would you look at that? Apparently, you looked miserable enough that he didn’t just kidna- *ahem* “took you with him” but also took you with him to a cozy cabin in the middle of the woods. After throwing you over a huge fence made out of a rose bush. Did I mention the rose bush before?

Alas, TVs and technology did not exist here so the cabin started to feel… uh… small? Imprisoning? Maybe both? Maybe more than just those two?

This is the point when the smoll rose bush behind your house, not the big one trapping you on an island, became your best friend. No, a brotherhood. The brotherhood of abandoned souls in the middle of the woods. You named them Helga. The narrator of this story says “Hi Helga.”

Something you did not expect though was meeting someone out here (other than Lilia the little annoy-). Deciding to look after Helga you had stepped out of the house only to be met with a breathing wall staring down at Helga. Helga seemed even healthier in his presence. Helga, don’t you dare to turn traitor on the boasitmotw (brotherhood of abandoned souls in the middle of the woods). The stranger had even plucked one of their roses and yet they still bloomed flirtatiously in his direction. You swore to cut your friend a bit shorter after this. IF there was an “after this”.

Turning in your direction the wall casted his gaze upon you and holy shi- (the narrator shakes their head at your choice of words) was that a vibrant green. Helga, you have good taste. You didn’t even notice his horns. Oh don’t get annoyed with me. I am just the narrator. It’s your fault if you get weak at every pretty boy you see.

Standing there like the most foolish statue within any world, yours or this otome one, you continued to stare at him. The man must have taken notice of your mouth that was opening and closing like a fish gasping for air but thankfully he seemed graceful enough not to comment on it. In fact, he seemed surprised to see you as well.

“I was not aware there was another human other than Silver in here.” Silver. Silver… Silver? Who was that? The questions running absolutely amok in your head were soon stopped though, coming to a screeching halt, when he stepped closer to you. God, that wand of his looked like it could impale you… that needle of the spindle looked dangerously sharp.

“Tell me, child of man, how come you are in this place?” How were you supposed to explain that a small man threw you over the bigger cousin of Helga?

I mean I wouldn’t even really classify helga as a yandere. She’s just a little girl from a very broken home who latched onto the first person to show her kindness but doesn’t know how to show positive affection bc of the aforementioned home situation. So she has a bubblegum shrine, so what. Little girls are weird.

yeah i tangentially know about helga and know shes just a weird preteen with an obsessive crush, i just meant that "women who fantasise about being yanderes but have no sympathy for actually mentally ill people" seem to be obsessed with her for some reason. but in the same way theyre obsessed with bubbles, just a cute thing that looks good for their moodboards out of context but with no respect to the actual character

Honestly, all the characters are very captivating but I think Ragnar, Lagertha, Floki, Helga, Siggy, and Judith have my attention more right now. I plan to write for all the characters but these are the ones I’m fixated more on.

I just generally love Helga and Siggy with my whole heart. I think Judith and Lagertha would be such yan!mom material. Ragnar and Floki are just interesting to think about as yanderes. Honestly though I could talk all day about what I think of all the characters being yanderes.

Which yandere would be best for after getting your wisdom teeth out

Newt is good for most injuries or infirmities, so he would definitely be a great one. Helga, too.

Markus from DBH, for similar reasons; his caretaking skills would be perfect for that sort of thing.

Honestly, just any of caretaking yanderes: Carlisle Cullen, Alfred Pennyworth, etc. Daycare Attendant might stick a bunch of cotton balls in your mouth. The likes of Ralsei or Katara would just heal you.

Helga Pataki from Hey Arnold

Helga is a tsundere by miles, and perhaps one of the most famous tsundere characters in all of the western media!

With displaying her angry exterior in front of her peers and calling her crush Arnold a Football Head every time he’s near her, there’s no doubt she’s the American Tsundere. But if you want to be more specific, she would be a type A tsundere. She is harsh towards her classmates, Arnold especially. These characters don’t often show their dere side, as their hidden side can really only be triggered by someone special, but that may take some time.

However, there are a few characteristics that not many people have noticed in Helga, and those traits might separate her from most of the tsundere characters, and that is her obsessive nature. This is shown when she carries her locket with a picture of Arnold everywhere she goes, moments of stalking, or when she tried to sabotage Arnold’s relationship with other girls, and she even owns her Arnold shrine in her closet. These are a few traits of a yandere, but unlike yandere characters, she was never sweet on the outside, nor has she physically hurt someone just so she can be with Arnold.

So in conclusion, it’s safe to say she would be a tsundere (type A) with yandere tendencies.

N/A: Kitty the angel and Kurt the scary priest. Helga is the name of their kid.

Little Helga Szardos Wagner Pryde has 10 years and saw many parents of other kids in the school, and little Helga with her gold eyes and rounded face has an important task that mix with a question that little Helga never did to her oldest sibling, Michel, how mommy and daddy meet fall in love?

Today, there´s no training. Is the week of Saint Apocalypse and no one dares to train or do anything out of this new routine, for a week. Charles and Blue are not complaining to have a break from the training.

Kurt is sitting in his chair, enjoying the holiday as Kitty is making the dinner, little Helga thought this is the perfect moment to ask her father the biggest question: how Kurt met her mom?

“DADDY, VATTI” Helga speaks energetically gaining Kurt´s attention “I’ve got an important question to make” Kurt humour the girl as she is really imaging as a reporter ready to uncover the biggest plot twist of all history “how you and mom did fall in love?”

Kurt smiles for several reasons that his little Helga or his other kids won´t ever know. Is a tale of manipulation in the finest form, yet, this is not what a sweet girl like Helga needs to hear, so, scooping the little one in his lap, the man tell the most kid-friendly version “you see, mommy was an angel, you know this, well, she was new at her work and didn´t get many friends”

Helga gasp at this, how come her mom didn´t have friends? Unbelievable.

Kurt chuckles at her as she is too naive to understand the struggles of power, in a sense, Kitty still is.

“And she decides to be my friend” Kurt is telling in the most innocent way possible, after all, no one but Kurt himself can know all the sordid details(the blood on his shirt is an aphrodisiac for the man) “after that we became inseparable” Helga blinks and was expecting big reveals, Michael never talk about how the couple meet but often makes it seems as is a big story.

“That´s it? No big reveal?” Helga asked

“No big reveal”

Kitty later serves the dinner as everyone is finishing praying to Apocalypse. Little Helga assures Kitty that she will be her friend, Kitty thank her but looking confused at Kurt who only chuckles at this and put his long finger in front of his lip. Little Helga does not need to know all the blood left.

The thing about Helga Pataki is that she constantly switches between a yandere and a tsundere. She’s a tsundere whenever Arnold is around and a yandere whenever he isn’t.

In order to be a yandere, you have to appear to be a nice person. Helga does this, but she only does it by accident. She’s constantly doing nice things for Arnold, but as soon as he thanks her and tells her how nice she is, she immediately struggles to come up with a tsundere excuse for her actions. Most people just see her as a bully, but Arnold sees the good in her; that’s what matters most.

So, Valentine's Day. A day for love and chocolate. A perfect day to discuss yanderes. A yandere is a Japanese stock character which discusses a character who would normally appear loving and affectionate, but they would often take their affection for the person they're attracted to to some brutal and/or devastating lengths. It also goes without saying that while this term is usually applied to females, there are some rare occurrences in which a male can become one. With that being said, let's begin:

My Favorite Yanderes

Monika (Doki Doki Literature Club): As of the beginning of this year, one of my favorite games has been Doki Doki Literature Club! In DDLC, you play as a character who was a childhood friend of a young girl named Sayori. One day, she decides to invite you to join the Literature Club which consists of Sayori (as the vice president), Natsuki, Yuri, and Monika. The game seems to be all lighthearted and fun where your objective is to woo the heart of one of the girls. However, things take a dark turn when at the end of Act I, you learn that each girl has a deep, dark secret. Sayori puts on a facade of happiness in order to build others up when in actuality, she is clinically depressed. Yuri begins to become more and more psychotic, and she is aware of that, but she cannot do anything about it, and Natsuki is abrasive with the heavy implication that she has an abusive dad who hardly feeds her or let alone takes care of her. But that doesn't beat the icing of the cake. That would be Monika. You see, she is the only girl who doesn't have a route with the player despite her popularity, beauty, and her position as the class president. And so, she sets out to do something about that. What makes Monika horrifying is how she is aware that she is a fictional character in a video game, and so she tries to make her advances on you as in not the character you play as, but you the player. She knows when you're playing the game, she knows when you're off it, she even has access to files on your computer. But that doesn't beat what she had done to the girls. As I have stated, each girl has a different character flaw, but because of Monika's tampering with their character files, each girls' negative traits are amplified all so they would be unappealing to you. And if that's not enough, she outright deletes the girls from the game, and rewrites it so that she could be alone with you in the Literature Club room as you both seemingly float in space. As for you, she could care less on whether you're a boy or girl: she doesn't love you, but she loves what you represent. As a character who knows that the world they live in is fictional, she tries to cling onto you because to her, you're the only real thing she can try to form a relationship with. Despite her monstrous actions, if you delete Monika's character file, she realizes how horrible she had been acting, and she erases the entire game. It also turns out that she didn't have the heart to permanently delete the other girls, and she can bring them back. However, once she is out of the game, Sayori takes her place as the class president, and she now realizes the reality of her world. Overall, Monika is a really interesting character from a game that I didn't think much of. The game shows you how depression functions and hoaw each of these girls could be seen as rejects of society who can only express their desires by writing them. But hey, it's just Monika. Just Monika. Just Monika. JUST MONIKA. J U S T M O N I K A. J U S T M O N I K A....

Judge Claude Frollo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame): As I have said: there are some instances where yanderes can be men. In this adaptation of Victor Hugo's famous novel, Frollo is the self-proclaimed Minister of Justice out to exterminate the Gypsy race. With Frollo, he is undoubtedly one of the more complex of the Disney Villains. Unlike other Disney Villains who know that they're evil and revel in it, Frollo legitimately thinks that he is a good person, seeing himself as being so much purer than the common, vulgar, weak licentious crowd while committing actions that are horrible whether it be genocide, murdering a mother and nearly drowning her baby boy, raising said baby and mentally abusing him for twenty years, and trying to burn Paris to the ground all for a woman who is a member of the race that he despises. Oh, yes; he tries to burn Paris to the ground all because of his obsession with Esmeralda. In addition, Frollo has an awesome song called "Hellfire" which he sings about how Esmeralda is driving him to sin and that unless she be his and his alone, he would kill her. The song is up there with "Be Prepared" from The Lion King as being one of my favorite villain songs, though the subject matter behind the song is unnerving and maybe too adult for Disney. In fact, if it wasn't for the insistence of the writers to keep the song, this amazing song most likely wouldn't have made the cut. And when Frollo catches Esmeralda and sentences her to be burned at the stake, he tries to give her one last chance which she refuses.

Yuno Gasai (Future Diary): Yes. The Yandere Queen herself. What's there to be said for her? The fact that she is obsessed with Yukiteru Amano to the point that she commits murders in order to protect him? Or that one time where she orchestrates a plan which leads to his friends getting killed. The only reason as to why she isn't number one is because it'd be too easy.

Shion Sonozaki (Higurashi: When They Cry): Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni was one of my favorite animes. The show revolves around a boy named Keiichi Maebara who moves into a small village known as Hinamizawa. Things seem all find and dandy, until he becomes suspicious of his friends. He learns that every year on the Cotton Drifting Festival, one person gets murdered whilst another person goes missing. And then it seems that the characters are reliving events over and over again even if they were to die horribly one day and everything resets. Think of it as Groundhog Day but written by a horror writer. The resident yandere in this show is named Shion. Shion is the twin sister of Mion Sonozaki, the Sonozaki family being one of the more noted families of the village. Shion ends up meeting a boy named Satoshi Houjo. Now, the issue being that the Houjo family were supporters of a Dam project...basically where Hinamizawa itself would be flooded. As such Satoshi and his little sister Satoko are distrusted by the community. Eventually, Satoshi seemingly disappers, and Shion takes it upon herself to look after his sister. However, she kind of goes off the deep end by killing her grandparents, imprisoning her twin sister, and stabbing Satoko to death while she is on a cross. Yeah, the Sonozaki family has a torture room. Shion is really one of the main reasons as to why this series was notorious for its horror elements, but she also has her reasons for what she does such as being mistreated by her family, and being forced to have three of her finger nails ripped off by a torture device. That, and she actually is under the influence of a disease known as the Hinamizawa Syndrome which gives its victims paranoia, insanity, and often leads to them acting out extremely through murder, or by committing suicide by clawing their throats out. And you could say that she gets better at the end, so there's that.

Yandere Chan (Yandere Simulator): This one is more based on the yandere character type. Yandere Chan couldn't feel any emotions until she laid her eyes on Senpai, so now she has to keep others from between her and Senpai so that she could get Senpai to notice her. I don't know if this game is finished yet which is why I was initially going to keep her off the list, but it wouldn't feel complete without a slight mention of her.

Akane Hiyama (Love Tyrant): this one is from an anime I watched last year. In it, the show revolves around a young ,man named Seiji Aino who finds himself looped into circumstances between him and a cupid named Guri. As a cupid, Guri must write names into a book known as a Kiss Note (ha). Anyone's names who are written into it are automatically bonded for life. Akane is a girl that Seiji has feelings for, but he was unable to figure out how to tell her. So Guri suggests that he go kiss her. But then Akane comes to the conclusion that Seiji and Guri were dating, and produces two knives with the clear intention of killing them both. She goes onto explain that she knew how Seiji felt about her, but was heartbroken because he never told. Despite Aino's apology, Akane still tries to murder him, but this ends with her accidentally kissing Seiji. And the two get their names written in the Kiss Note...only for Guri to write her name into it as well. This leads to Akane stabbing Aino repeatedly with the knives, but it's revealed that because Guri is included in the relationship, the two are immortal. It still hurts, though.

Helga Pataki (Hey Arnold): Really more of a mixture with this and Tsundere, but Helga does have her moments. For one, there's the shrine that she made of Arnold which is borderline disturbing. She writes poems about Arnold, she actually tries to sabotage most of his attempts at going further with his crushes namely Ruth and Lila, and if the Jungle Movie is any indication, she had secretly recorded nearly all of Arnold's best moments which raises questions now that I think of it.

Alex Forrest (Fatal Attraction): Two words: "bunny-boiler."

Annie Wilkes (Misery): One of the better adaptations of a Stephen King book. While initially seeming to be friendly, Annie is actually a psychotic woman who keeps Paul hostage after finding out he was intending to kill off her favorite character. To that end, she forces him to revise the ending, murders a sheriff when he arrived to the cottage, and in the most messed up scene of the movie, Annie breaks both of Paul's legs to keep him from leaving. At least that's relatively better than what she did in the movie.

One was about yandere Kyojuro, Sanemi, Kokushibo and Muzan(if you don't mind, can Uzui, Douma and Akaza be added, if it'snot too much) , where let's say one of these cheesecakes already kidnapped their Darling, but the other yandere is also simping for the Darling, like what would let's say Kyo do if Sanemi was also yandere for his darling and ect.

The other one was like a Yandere Darling secretly in live with the Yandere cheesecakes, if you watched Hey Arnold and remember Helga, so that's the Darling. Maybe not insulting but aggressive and stuff, but secretly deeply in love but somehow even after being kidnapped need a lot of time to actually act normally towards the cheesecakes.

Hope this makes sense, but you always amaze us so I'm not worried.

Rengoku

Sanemi tried to steal you from Rengoku

• Rengoku had always known that Sanemi had some feelings towards you. Let’s just say Rengoku tried to act as civil as he can around Sanemi but it was very hard too , when he knew that Sanemi was simpimg for his Darling.

• After Rengoku kidnapped you , he started to act a lot more relaxed around Sanemi because he felt like there was absolutely nothing to worry about , because you were safe in his home.

• Little did Rengoku know , that Sanemi knew about him kidnapping you. Sanemi had been watching Rengoku for a while , and knew that he had taken you because he followed him home one day. Sanemi was furious that Rengoku would even dare lay a hand on you , so he decided to confront Rengoku about it. Let’s just say that , it did not end well. Turns out that , Sanemi had threatened to take you from Rengoku , all Rengoku did was laugh in his face and tell him “ good luck “.

• A couple weeks later , when Rengoku was walking though the front door , he expected to see you laying on the couch, but instead he could hear you crying for help in the bedroom. When he walked in , he saw Sanemi Sanemi jumping through the window. He was about to go after him , but he decided to ask you what had happened.

• Turned out that Sanemi came to try to convince you to come with him , because he can “ protect you better “. Rengoku was furious , but he knew that he could never approach Sanemi about it , because Sanemi would report him.

• The only thing that Rengoku did was , put wooden boards on most of the windows.

Sanemi

Obanai tried to steal you from Sanemi

• As we all know , Sanemi is very protective and possessive over his darling , saying this , sometimes he can act like a very aggressive dog around his Darling. He does not like it when people talk , touch or interact with his darling in any way.

• The only person that he does trust around them , is Obanai. Sanemi really trusts Obanai , so he did not think that Iguro would try anything with his darling. Little did he know , that Obanai had fell in love with you from the moment he first saw you. That being said , Obanai felt a strong responsibility over you. When it was announced that you had gone missing ( Sanemi kidnapped you ), Obanai was completely destroyed over the news, but he tried to hide it so Sanemi would not question him.

• So imagine Obanai’s surprise when he looked over , and saw that Sanemi had a calm face , and was showing no emotion over the fact that you had just been kidnapped. When Obanai approached him about the matter , Sanemi whispered in his ear , “ the only reason why I am not worried , is because I took them , they are safer with me “. Obanai only nodded his head , and started to plot a way to get you back to him.

• Obanai decided that the best way to take you from Sanemi’s house , is if he waited for Sanemi to go on a long mission. That way the house would be empty. He waited for the moment Sanemi went off on a mission , and he headed to his estate to get you. Unknown to Iguro , Sanemi had actually stopped by his house to kiss you goodbye.

• Instead if being greeted with you , he was greeted with Obanai in the middle of his living room. “ what the fuck are you doing “. Sanemi asked. “ nothing I just wanted to make sure that all of your doors were locked… the window was opened”.

• Sanemi only stared at him, before asking him to leave. Sanemi knew that something was up, but he did not want to cause a scene in front of you.

• Iguro would have to come get you another day.

Kokushibou

Douma tried to steal you from Kokushibou

• When Kokushibou first kidnapped you , he took you to the infinity tower and introduced you to Muzan and the other upper moons. Kokushibou felt like it was very important that you get along with them , especially Muzan. The reason for this , is because he wanted you to join him as a upper rank demon. Just because he told you to be nice to them , does not mean that he wants you to have long conversations with them.

• Kokushibou always feels like the other upper moons are trying to steal you away from him, especially Douma. Ever since Douma first met you , he has always made a effort to talk to you , or be in the same room as you. Every once in a while , Douma will give you compliments and tal bad about Kokushibou in front of him and you.

• Still , Kokushibou did not feel like Douma was a threat , until Douma started to make many different comments about taking you , and keeping you all to himself. That crossed the line for Kokushibou. One time , Kokushibou even threatened Douma about the whole matter.

• Lately, you had been spending more time with Douma , then with Kokushibou. Kokushibou never brought it up because he did not want you to think that he was insecure. One day , Kokushibou walked into your room after a long mission , expecting some cuddles , but found that you were not there. So he started to look for you around the palace , but he could not find you.

• He tried not to panic , but every time he went into a empty room , he could feel a sense of anxiety start to wash over him like cold water. Eventually he found you , but you were with Douma. Turns out that Douma wanted to show off some of his expensive jewelry. Kokushibou just watched from the doorway. He knew that you would never try anything with Douma , but he wanted to see how Douma acts around you.

• “ Does Kokushibou ever buy you expensive stuff ?”. Douma asked in a teasing voice. “ Oh Yeah !! He buys me a ton of stuff “ you said proudly. “Don’t you think you would be happier with me “?. You froze when you heard that question coming from Douma’s mouth . Kokushibou felt like he was going to explode out of anger , it took everything in him not to beat up Douma. All there was , was silence. Eventually Kokushibou walked in and picked you up and threw you over his shoulder , and started to walk out.

• He was going to have a serious talk with Douma , after he is done cuddling you to death.

Muzan

• This is going to be really short because I don’t think that anyone would even try to take you from Muzan. Not even Kokushibou would dare try . You have to be mentally insane to think that you could get away with taking Muzan’s Darling.

• The second Muzan fees like someone is going to try to take his darling , they are dead. He does not even want anyone else , but him , to be around his darling.

Tengan

Rengoku tried to take you from Tengan

• It had been a while since Tengam and his wives had taken a you , but by all accounts , you were adjusting very well to your new life.

• But sometimes , you start to miss your old life. You were a hashira in the demon slayer corps. That is how you got to meet Tengan Uzui. You also became quite close with most of the other hashira’s. You were very close to Rengoku in particular.

• Sometimes , Rengoku used joke about the two of you being together, most of the time , Tengan would just laugh it off . Little did Tengan know that Rengoku had fallen head over heels in love with you , and was stalking you. Rengoku knew that Tengan had taken you .

• After Tengan had taken you , however , he stopped worrying about all of those things , and was just focused on you , and his wives. One day , one of his wives spotted Rengoku in the distance. This was unusual, because Tengan wasn’t here , and he was suppose to be on a mission.

That's a good question! Now when I think of a selfless type of yandere I think of someone who wholeheartedly puts their darling’s wants and needs above their own, sacrificing whatever necessary to make their darling happy. Someone willing to give their darling their own independence and freedom, accepting them having their own life/family outside of the yandere themself as long as the yandere still gets to have a place in their darling’s life. That’s all they could ask for. Overall someone who is happy simply because they’re darling is happy.

What are your favorite themes and/or tropes in yandere stories?

[I'm mostly used to the very dull version of yanderes in early cartoons, and I did not like them. The issue there is it was cartoons for kids and they couldn't show them right. Helga in Hey Arnald is close but she's too tsundere to count in my book. I've been getting used to how they are in VNs and they feel more real there. As most know, I don't have favorites. I can't grasp favorites as a concept for some reason. Nor can I think of a theme/trope I like. What I would like to see done, if possible, is a healthy moment between yan and love interest where they just talk. They share without judgment and try to understand each other without jumping at each other's throats. I'd love that.]

This probably goes without saying, but Susie definitely steps over some boundaries here, so please read with caution!

Not really knowing what to do with her overwhelming feelings for you, she has a tendency to do that sort of grade school thing where you pick on the person you like e.g. Helga from Hey Arnold. But make no mistake, the noogies are entirely an excuse to feel your fluffy hair.

Sometimes during gym class, if she happens to be standing behind you, she catches the tiniest whiff of your shampoo and it makes her feel all giddy. Such a nice, clean smell. She definitely notices if you switch to a different kind, too.

She's thought of getting a similar haircut to yours on more than one occasion, but she's worried people will notice the similarities and think she's weird. It probably wouldn't look as nice as yours does anyway...

If she can get away with it, she might attempt to steal a comb from you. It'd be even better to get ahold of your hairbrush, because there would definitely be more hair to collect from that, but she'll take what she can get.

If she ever overhears you saying you don't like your hair, the look of confusion on her face is almost comical. How could you dislike your hair? It's so nice! Of course, she won't admit that out loud, but it's written all over her expression anyway.
