Oh my god I'm only 3 eps in but Yamato is so relatable I am in actual physical pain. I too, was in love with my best friend in high school. Desperately trying to tell her but always falling short of doing so, fear tamping down the words at the last minute. Dancing around a confession, so close that years later I'm not convinced she didn't actually like me back, but neither of us could put it into words. Teasing it, hoping she would take the initiative but she never did. Everything I'm seeing on screen is taking me back, including back to that awful jealousy when she got a girlfriend and I so so wished it was me.
It's about the fear of losing the most important person to you outweighing how badly you want to be more, and trying so hard to stay in that friendship where you are safe even though the feelings have changed enough to make it impossible

"He's more of a brother to me than you ever were to him."
- Naruto, talking to Itachi about Sasuke
I'm rewatching Naruto as a whole because I'm introducing it to my friend, and I like to watch it every few years as I gain new life experience to get a new perspective of something I've been watching since I was a little kid. I've never finished the series past the very beginning of the war arc, though (working on it!).
We're up to the Tenchi Bridge mission in Shippuden and I have some thoughts on how remarkably similar Naruto and Itachi are, specifically when it comes to their shared trait of unintentionally dehumanizing Sasuke and viewing him as a possession, and an object to obtain, rather than a person with his own autonomy and free will. I also kind of wanna go into how Kakashi and Sakura (kinda) were probably the only people to love him as he was but still ultimately failed him, and how all of them drove him away.
Disclaimer: These are all my own opinions and you're under no obligation to agree with any of it. If any of what I have to say bothers you, you're more than welcome to exit the post at any time and ignore me instead of sending hate mail and leaving heinous comments. Anything you have to say in response can be said respectfully. Thanks!
Words: 2.3k
In episode 41 of Naruto Shippuden, there's a scene where Naruto is in his own mind as he's transforming into the Nine Tailed Fox (Kurama). In this scene, he sees an apparition of Sasuke walking away from him and when he tries to go after him, water floods all around him and he can't get to him. He's falling into his own darkness and giving in to Kurama's influence.
During this scene, he says, "I am weak, so my words don't reach [Sasuke]. Because I am weak, I can't win his recognition. So, whatever happens I must become stronger so that the bond I've finally forged will not be severed. So that Sasuke won't sever the connection with me."
It can be said that the entire reason Naruto is so obsessed with getting Sasuke back is because, as he's stated himself multiple times, he can't confidently fulfill his goal of becoming Hokage if he can't even save his friend from darkness. His entire self-worth rests in the validity that others provide him because he was deprived of that his entire life, and he represses his emotions to the extreme.
It's why he's irrational and dangerous to be around and difficult to work with; it's why he foregoes any plans or strategies people have on almost every single mission he's been sent on from the time he became a ninja till the war and is always the first to attack in these scenarios; it's why he's willing to start giving into the power of Kurama until Yamato tells him how he injured Sakura and how he needed to prove his strength with his OWN power: his need to prove himself to others and get that validation he craves trumps over anything, and anyone, else.
When it comes to Itachi, he told Sasuke that in order to become strong enough to kill him he needed to sever his bonds with those closest to him.
Opposite of Naruto, Itachi kept Sasuke at a distance at all times because of his own goals to rid the world of war and get into a position where he can render ninja obsolete (via Itachi Retsuden). His tunnel vision when it came to his personal goals caused him to disregard how his actions affected other people because he saw it as a means to an end, including slaughtering his own clan and becoming a double spy in the Akatsuki.
When Naruto and Itachi run into each other during the Gaara Retrieval arc, they get to talking about Sasuke.
When Itachi asks why Naruto is so obsessed with Sasuke, Naruto replies with the quote that leads into this post.
I was talking to my friend about Naruto's possessive nature when it comes to Sasuke and that led into be thinking about how Itachi also viewed Sasuke.
I came to the conclusion that neither of these people viewed Sasuke as someone capable of having his own autonomy, his own philosophy, and as someone deserving of having his own personal goals and feelings recognized. Sasuke was always within his full right to end up as hateful and as angry and as hurt as he was, but because Naruto and Itachi care more about their own goals and their own proximity to Sasuke, they don't view him as someone that can make his own decisions; that's why I feel Naruto had such a negative reaction when Orochimaru reminded Naruto that Sasuke came to him of his own free will after Naruto was screaming at him to "give him back." Even after three years, he cannot stomach or accept the fact that Sasuke made the choice to leave him, and it pushes him further into his obsession.
Sasuke made his own decision to go to Orochimaru because he felt like no one else around him genuinely tried to understand what he was going through. They, essentially, just wanted him to let go of his pain and keep living a "happy" life with them. How could they understand when they view him in such a way? Orochimaru was up front with his intentions and his plans for Sasuke from the very beginning. Yes, he was manipulated by the curse mark, but Orochimaru wouldn't have chosen him to begin with if he didn't see what was already in Sasuke.
He was very up front with the fact that he needed Sasuke's body in order to continue living as a powerful being and find immortality. He told Sasuke what the game plan was and knew that in order to get what he wanted, he needed to give Sasuke what everyone else had denied him: a choice. He saw a gifted child filled with jealousy and hatred, which was something fostered by his need to compete with Itachi and Naruto and gave him exactly what he wanted.
Sasuke's entire clan was annihilated by the one person he sought the most validation from. After that heartbreak, he was forced to live in that same Uchiha compound all alone.
While he was dealing with the trauma of that, every single person around him was idealizing him and treating him in a way that probably drove him further into isolation: he was constantly bombarded with girls that were crushing on him and wanting him for his talents and good looks, and the adults around him saw him as the perfect student that didn't need too much attention, so no one paid attention to his needs outside of what he provided in skill. Even though they very much provided the validation and attention he was seeking from his family, no one really bothered to see him.
Naruto was seemingly the only person that actively saw what he was going through because he also knew what that loneliness looked like, but his rivalry with him mattered more than that connection. That's why physical fighting is their form of intimacy. People propped him up on a pedestal from the time he was a small child and when that position was threatened by the least talented kid in his class, it threw him into a spiral (which is another topic).
Getting back to Itachi, he never saw Sasuke as his own person at any point in his life. I know he loved him in his own way. In some ways, he was the somewhat attentive father Sasuke should have had.
But Itachi was not always a good brother. Not in the least.
He always saw him as someone to protect, to coddle, to keep ignorant, keep below him because he subconsciously did not want Sasuke to become a shinobi and go through the same trauma he did (Itachi Retsuden). Eventually, that was no longer an option and that's when the distance happened (in conjunction to what was going on in his own life as a tool that others wanted to use for their own goals).
After Itachi slaughtered the clan, he reinforced Sasuke's lack of autonomy by giving him his own means to an end.
Itachi saw Sasuke as a tool -- a means to his own long, drawn-out suicide.
Naruto viewed Sasuke as the ultimate validation to his own goal to become Hokage.
Neither of them saw Sasuke for who he was or who he wanted to be -- for who he could have been.
I'll even add Sakura to this mix because she has a complicated relationship with him as well. She did end up with him and was his friend before anything, but she’s idolized him to the point of nausea since she was a little girl. She was obsessed with becoming the object of his affection. She had an unhealthy amount of loyalty to him just like Naruto (even though I'd argue she wasn't nearly as bad as Naruto was). She changed her own opinions of something to cater to what he thought so she could seem more favorable to him. For most of their childhood, she dehumanized him and didn't see him as anything other than a love interest for herself.
However.
You can see her slowly taking off the rose-colored glasses in the first part of Naruto during the Chuunin exams at two major points: when she chastised him for acting like a coward and freezing up while Orochimaru beat Naruto, and when she finally cut her hair in the middle of battle (context: she heard that Sasuke loved long hair and that's why she always kept it long).
Beyond that, she actually paid attention to his well-being and noticed when something was wrong or when he was hiding something and brought her concerns up in a non-aggressive manor. At the time, he was aggressive and agitated by her actions, and he reacts as such. Genuine concern is hard to come by for him, so how was he supposed to react?
But clearly, he recognized it and appreciated it because it's been confirmed through his Japanese VA AND English VA AND the novels that Sasuke was starting to fall in love with Sakura long before he realized it and was full of guilt when he left her on that bench.
When the time came to acknowledge that he was an internationally recognized terrorist and killer, the life drained from her face because she realized she had to put her feelings to the side and do what needed to be done.
Because she was willing to accept the reality of who he was and see him for what he'd become. And even though she was unsuccessful, she took steps to have Naruto forget about Sasuke and kill him herself.
At this point, he's learned to use the same tactics people used on him his entire life: only keep people around you that further your own goals. This time, he was in charge. When he formed his own gang, he encountered that dehumanizing behavior again when Karin constantly threw herself at him and practically begged to sleep with him. It was only after Itachi died and he decided to take down the Leaf that he was able to finally have a goal of his own that was solely for him.
I won't go into it too much because I'm already pushing 2k words, but it's worth noting that Sasuke was pushed to do crime because that was the only period of time where he was allowed to make his own decisions and have his own autonomy enough to pursue his OWN goals before that was swiftly taken away by The Akatsuki to....you guessed it, further their own goals.
Sasuke has never been the idol the people in proximity to him saw him as, from any person's point of view. Not Naruto, not Itachi, not Sakura, not Orochimaru, no one. Obito may have been the one closest to seeing Sasuke as he was, but he immediately took advantage of him.
They all wanted to possess him and obtain him in different ways, and one of the reasons I love his dynamic with Kakashi so much is because Kakashi did grow up very similarly to Sasuke, except his own dad died of his own accord and Sasuke’s father was taken away from him.
One of the main ways Kakashi has always been able to connect to Sasuke was the fact that throughout his life he’s had to watch every single person he’s ever cared about die around him. And for a while he was that cold detached person that didn’t want to keep up with friends, didn’t want to be around people, minded his business, and he was mean to everybody.
The whole reason he gave Sasuke that speech about choosing his own path right before he went to Orochimaru was because he intimately understood what he was going through emotionally.
Naruto and Sakura can say they get where he’s coming from, but Kakashi is really the only person able to empathize with what Sasuke was going through. And if Kakashi hadn’t been consistently sent out on missions and was able to take care of his kids the way he was supposed to, there was a slight chance Sasuke could have still healed from his trauma even with the manipulation of the curse mark.
People forget that Kakashi very well could have ended up on the same path as Sasuke, even without Orochimaru’s influence, because he went through some very dark things. He had every reason to be a very dark character, but he didn’t.
He ultimately failed when he spoke to Sasuke as a soldier and not the traumatized child that was acting out on his pain.
In summary, Sasuke only went to the lengths that he did because of the people around him treating him as a possession to keep or as an object to obtain rather than treating him as an actual person. Sasuke goes through some of the most dehumanizing relationships, and I think that’s what irritates me so much about Naruto as a character.
Because he treats Sasuke, and he talks about him, like he’s a possession to obtain and because someone else “has” him, he has to get him back because Sasuke is his and his only. This extends to other characters around him, as well.
That lack of autonomy was what drove Sasuke away because he very clearly wanted to be seen as his own person but no one around him was willing to do that because they saw him as a means to their own goals. It's why Sasuke developed a "do you really think I give a fuck about what you want" personality trait.
All that being said, do I think they all genuinely loved him? Yes.
Ultimately, we have to remember that these are all small-town children with very little experience of the outside world and that the adults around him grew up in the same conditions because that's what the politics of that world demanded.
I have my opinions about the manga's imperialist propaganda, use of child soldiers, Sasuke's emotional development and how people chronically misunderstand complex PTSD, fascism, queer baiting, etc. but that's another post. Several others, actually.
Believe it or not, I had to shave down a lot of what I originally had in order to keep this relatively short LMAO
If y'all read all of this, THANK YOU! I rarely ever flesh out my thoughts about this show like this and it felt refreshing to get off my chest. Feel free to send me DMs and RESPECTFULLY speak your own mind in the comments/reblogs! ♥

Do you have any recent recommendations for JBL TaiwanBL and KBL? Been rewatching only bls from 2021 2022 and I feel like I'm out of the loop for the more recent ones.
Maybe something from this year or late last year?
Great JBL, TaBL, and KBL from 2023 & first half 2024
asker added:
Genre = mostly anything. But pls avoid homophobic trauma (like Jazz for Two).
Fair. Okay here we go!
2023 Recs!
I picked mostly 9s and 10s for you with a few 8s I felt specifically might suit your taste.
I Cannot Reach You AKA Kimi ni wa Todokanai
Japan Netflix
This classic friends-to-lovers BL is everything Japan does best. Angsty. Emo. Aching. Driven by real thirst. Yamato is deeply in love with his childhood bestie, Kakeru, and has been for ages, unable to hide his ungainly damaging high school need. He wants Kakeru in every way possible and it oozes off of the screen. Kakeru is silly and a little simple, but not frenetic or overly camp about it. He is earnest, and genuinely wants to keep Yamato in his life which means giving a romance (and gayness) a fair chance. We watch him realize his affection and what form it can take in a truly authentic way. This show was impossibly kind to both of its lead characters and I felt almost honored that I got to watch something so lovely and rare play out on my screen.
Our Dating Sim
Korea Viki
This is a perfect short form KBL, an office set reunion romance featuring geeks that really suits 8 eps with no fluff and no chaff. Just comforting and yummy. I adored every aspect from the casting to the pristinely simple premise to the quietly smooth execution. Sure it’s low stakes, but that makes it high domesticity and extremely warm and gentle. This is a fuzzy blanket of a story - a cozy BL. It lives in my rewatch pile and you know what’s best about it? Every single episode is in that pile. There’s no skipping with this one, it might be good natured and calmly sweet but it’s tight and the pacing is excellent.
I don't hand out 10/10 often (over 700 BLs watched, stil don't hvae 10 10/10s yet), these both got that from me in 2023. I consider both of them perfect BLs.
My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho
Japan Gaga
This style of live action yaoi really only works from Japan. Basically: boys who fell in love in college end up living together but both are so repressed they actually don't realize they're in love. It's higher heat than we usually get from Japan's HEA stuff, and that part is also very well done, but it leaned into the "why don't they just talk for fuck's sake?" trope which is only exacerbated into undiluted frustration by the fact that they're already fucking. It's great, but watching requires more patience than usual, even for Japan.
Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku
Japan Gaga
A lonely salaryman (+ talented cook) gets accidentally adopted by a college kid and his little brother. I was always gonna love this show if they stuck to the original yaoi (which is very dear to my heart). And they did! Paralleling it almost exactly. It’s a quiet & cozy little parable of found family alleviating loneliness. Possibly too slow for some but definitely high up there for me as the best of what Japan can do with softness (like Restart After Come Back Home). It’s only flaw (if I dare say such a thing) is that it is not really “romantic.” Lovely & sweet but the romance beats are being used to build a family relationship, not just couple intimacy, but that's OK with me. This is a very safe show for anyone to watch.
Jun and Jun
Korea Viki
A delightful office romance about an ex-idol who joins cubical life only to find his new boss is his first love. Others boys are sniffing around too. Operative word being "sniffing" as much of this romance involves smell. With a snappy (sometimes even raunchy) script, enjoyable sides, a pretty as peaches cast, and descent chemistry this show made up for in style what it lacked in substance. I like fluff. I loved this. I smiled every moment I was watching. With tons of rewatch potential (especially the last few eps), my only caution is this is for fans of the BL genre only, I don’t think it’ll work for anyone else.
Love Tractor
Korea iQIYI
Most of this country-set BL had me feral for the beautiful broken city boy and his hot young farmer. Hyung romance, puppy/cat pairing, open frankness meets jaded reserve, language play, water hose frolicking, only one bed, just all my favorite tropes. This show was basically a light-weight Restart After Come Back Home and I’m not even slightly mad about that. But (and you knew there was a “but” comg) something about the cringe of the final 2 eps and the impermanence of the ending (both of which highlight the fact that ultimately these 2 are I’ll-suited: too different and too far apart) left me with the feeling that they probably won’t last as a couple. However, in this case, rare for me, I forgive it this finale for my love of the rest.
The New Employee
Korea Viki
So good, SO QUEER, so soft, a near pitch perfect office BL with conflict derived from that setting. Also found family and a lesbian bestie. Sweet & innocent (and out) Seung Hyun scores the office internship of his dreams. On his first day at work he gets into it with his cool reserved (and also v gay) boss. As you do. Frankly? This is what I wanted from this new crop of office set KBLs ALL ALONG. Rainbow rice cakes forever! Directed by queer activist Kim Jho Gwang Soo (Just Friends?) partly set in the same neighbourhood as the To My Star house. Gotta love WATCHA (Semantic Error, Light on Me).
Unintentional Love Story
Korea iQIYI
OMG the plot, forced into a totally understandable betrayal, falling in love despite himself, put into a corner he can't get out of, the AGONY, the eyes EMOTING at us in PAIN A boy who just lost his job due to faked corruption charges accidentally discovers his ex-boss's favorite artist, now a recluse. Evil manager offers him his job back if he can convince the artist to rejoin society. Instead, they fall in love. I found the artist a bit stiff and reserved but Gongchan (maknae of B1A4) is a fucking GIFT - he carried this show (which I do not expect from the idol element). He was lumous with extraordinarily expressive eyes, just drown in the emoting abyss. The external conflict, social tension and pressure is complex and beautifully executed, plus Korea gave us legit side dishes (NOT a love triangle, hally-fucking-luya). I’m not sure on rewatchability, and it didn’t whip me into a verbal frenzy the way some KBLs do, but it still gets a solid 9/10 for those damn eyes alone.
A Breeze of Love
Korea iQIYI
Tsundere insomniac grump reunited with his sunshine jock ex (human sleeping pill) who now hates him. Basketball is also involved. While the simplicity of a reunion plot makes this more cohesive than most KBLs, it is a tad stiff and slow, never managing to lift itself out of "pretty and pretty enjoyable" - I liked it but I don’t think I’m going to remember much about it.
Bon Appetit
Korea iQIYI
Romance between an office worker the man from his past next door who cooks well. It was very sweet and cute tale of food as love in the All the Liquors family of KBL. I’m not wild about it, I did enjoy it, I was happy to have it show up on my dash, but ultimately it will simply become one of the KBL crowd.
Why R U?
(Korean adaptation of Thai original) iQIYI
Korea decided to remake, of all possible Thai BLs, Why RU? And that is exactly what we got: a short form, clean & pretty, slightly confusing, uneven chemistry, all the same tropes KBL that kind of cliff-noted the original but with none of the heat or complex relationship dynamics. I just … what world is this? Because it is BOTH bizarro land, and EXACTLY what I expected. How do I rate it? In the end I have to go back to simple questions: did I like it, would I rewatch it, and would I recommend it? Yes. Probably. And probably not. What the actual hell?
It did, however win my best kiss of 2023 which is why it's on this list.
Stay By My Side
Taiwan Viki
I wanted to pick SOMETHING from Taiwan but my other two options both had lots of trauma in them. So I'm going with this one.
This show was an interesting take on the "ghost boyfriend" trope. About a boy who is tormented by hearing the dead, except when he is around one other boy - desperation+proximity = love. Unfortunately, the story was erratic and waffled about. While the leads turned in solid performances and the sappy domesticity was off the charts, it never really had the strength of the narrative convictions such a strong concept should have supplied. Highly rewatchable and enjoyable for that sappy domesticity but not a whole lot more. Still I always give extra credit for the diabetes-inducing sugar content and rewatch capacity.
And some suggestions from 2024
I'm only suggesting stuff that has finished it's run and isn't currently airing.
Although I Love You and You AKA Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka
Japan Gaga
The promise of this show, younger cook courts older divorced office worker, should have been my catnip. I mean if someone pitched this to me in an elevator I would have downloaded it by the second storey. Unfortunately, it did not exactly fulfill that promise, not in the way I'd hoped. Did I still enjoy the ride, yes, but I feel just a little let down.
Living With Him AKA Kare no Iru Seikatsu
Japan Gaga
Kindly Ryota goes to uni and ends up rooming with his former childhood bestie, Kazuhito. Kazuhito doesn’t have a girlfriend for, as it turns out, cute roommate reasons. Same director as Old Fashion Cupcake, the framing is gorgeous and it is a stylish piece. As a friends to lovers cohabitation narrative this was a classic 2000s sweet yaoi. I enjoy that kind of tradition out of Japan even if it (and the characters) come off as a little slow as a result. Still, it's nice to get a traditional BL out of Japan that is satisfying, not slapstick, AND did not hurt us.

That post about Higuchi Kouhei and his cat got me thinking about some other tokusatsu-to-BL pipeline actors that are on current or recent BLs, so I thought I'd do a screenshot post about Kamen Rider Revice, a recent toku series that features two lead actors who star in current BLs, plus an actor in a smaller role who was part of a side couple in a BL series that recently completed a second season.
The main character of Revice is Igarashi Ikki, played by Maeda Kentaro, currently playing Ohara Yamato in I Can't Reach You. His siblings are very central to the story as well--by the end of the series, the story is centered around his whole family. Ikki's younger brother Daiji is played by Hyuga Wataru, currently playing Yamasuge Ryuiji in If It's With You.
Here they are having a bath in the opening credits for the show (the Igarashi family runs a public bath house).
I should say at the outset that I can't entirely recommend Revice, especially to folks who don't already have some tokusatsu-watching under their belts. It's a hot mess in a lot of ways. But it does have some really outstanding highlights. The best aspects of the series, in my book, were:
Kagerou (Daiji's demonic alter ego),
George Karizaki (my beloved),
Igarashi Sakura/Kamen Rider Jeanne (the most formidable female Rider I've seen in any series in the franchise), and
the relationship between Sakura and Natsuki Hana (a rare example of a convincing Sapphic ship in a franchise well known for "heated drama between men").
I'm not going to get into 2 and 3 here, as tempting as that would be, but I'll include as much of 4 as time/space permits.
It might seem weird that I'm not recommending a series with some of my favorite characters in the entire Kamen Rider franchise AND a relationship between girls that is a hair's breadth from being canonically queer. It's just too much of a trainwreck to endorse as a whole. But as I said, the highlights are really something.
One of the biggest issues I had with Revice was that Ikki, the protagonist, just isn't a very compelling character. As a result I don't think Maeda Kentaro really got to show the range of his acting abilities in this series. (This just makes me more curious to see him in ICRY. From the excerpts I've seen so far, it seems like he shows a really different side of himself.)
Maeda appreciators might still enjoy the many determined faces and creepy smiles he gets to dish out in this series. Here's a sampling.
It's possible they'll want to look away when he starts doing things like this, though.
Fans of both Maeda and Hyuga might enjoy some of their scenes fighting side by side, including doing their various henshin poses (the moves they do before they transform into their masked Rider forms).
Or when they do things like this bonkers flying kick.
Thankfully, Daiji is a more interesting character than Ikki, so Revice gave Hyuga some more challenging things to do. I thought Hyuga also just really made the most of every opportunity the show presented to him. He was seriously impressive. This is the reason I was sold on IIWY the moment I saw the announcement about it based solely on Hyuga's involvement.
Here's a sampling of Hyuga as Daiji.
In addition to playing Daiji, Hyuga also played Kagerou, Daiji's aforementioned demonic alter ego. Kagerou was formed from thoughts and emotions that Daiji repressed. The biggest of these was his resentment toward Ikki. But apparently Daiji had also been repressing a desire to be a somewhat gender non-conforming goth, because that's Kagerou's other raison d'etre.
In some ways, it's hard to imagine a character more different from Ryuji. If they have anything in common, it's the fact that they both place a high value on honesty.
One other thing that's worth noting about Hyuga's work on Revice is that he was only 17 when the show premiered. He showed major dramatic range in this part, not only playing two very different characters but doing everything from low-key nuanced scenes to bombastic high drama. Not to mention the stunts! Doing all of this at 17 is seriously remarkable.
Now for our bonus dude! There's a secret evil-fighting organization called Weekend that secretly keeps tabs on the Igarashi family for years before coming out of hiding to join the big central battle of the series. One of the Weekend operatives is Ushijima Hikaru.
Look familiar? Maybe not, he didn't make faces like this on his BL series.
How about now? Yep, it's Oku Tomoya, who plays Hanabusa Asuka on both seasons of Minato Shouji Coin Laundry.
Oku has some big scenes and interesting moments in Revice. He does some romantic pining, goes through big-time loss, does quite a bit of martial-arts sparring, gets seriously injured, and more. He even gets to henshin a few times. Here he is getting ready to do just that with Sakura and Hana. Those Weekend uniforms are pretty hardcore in a 70s flight attendant sort of way, but I feel like Oku really sells it here.
While we're on the subject of Sakura and Hana, I feel like I can't mention their relationship without including some moments where their story came particularly close to tipping into full-on yuri.
If you're going to do an enemies-to-lovers story, why not make them full-on superhero nemeses?
The word "date" might not technically get used by the characters, but there's no mistaking that the amusement park hangout Sakura invites Hana on--while she is still a fully-functioning bad guy, I might add--is definitely a date.
Most of the time when a Rider beats their nemesis for the final time they don't hold each other tenderly in the sunset.
By the end of the series, they're in a big tub together at the Igarashi's bath house.
There are tons more examples but you get the idea. If this isn't borderline-yuri I don't know what is.

IDOLiSH7 Anime vs Game Comparisons
First Beat - Episode 1
Banri & Tsumugi’s first interaction
Takanashi Productions was in charge of a few other talents before: models, dancers, choir. But i7 is their first boy idol group.
Banri calls the i7 boys as a Japanese multi-course bento (Kaiseki Bento). Tsumugi is confused in both the anime and game, but we don’t get an explanation for why he calls them this in the anime.
It’s actually Banri’s temporary group name 🤣 He says the it’s a name filled with the agency’s hopes and dreams!
Basketball Game
There’s more dialogue in the game that shows us more of their personalities and dynamics. But we’ll learn that eventually~
Sogo, Riku, Nagi team is disorganized. Nagi does what he wants. Riku gets distracted by Nagi. Sogo tries to keep things under control.
Tamaki, Mitsuki, Iori team is super competitive. Tamaki and Mitsuki says, “I hate losing!”, while Iori says, “My life has no room for defeat”.
Unlike in the anime, we actually see parts that show that they’re unfamiliar with each other. Mitsuki and Iori were taken aback at Tamaki’s nicknames. Sogo got a bit weirded out by Nagi’s monologues. They don’t feel like they’ve known each other for a long time like Tsumugi observed (probably bc she was watching from farther away).
Auditions! We get to see Tsumugi’s reactions to this in the game.
Iori is good at singing and dancing. He makes it look effortless!
Yamato is great at expressing things both in singing and dancing. It’s interesting because he’s always repressing his feelings.
Mitsuki has great energy. He brings life to the room.
Tamaki is great at dancing and is athletic.
Sogou is an all-rounder, ready for a professional debut.
Nagi has the elegance of a Prince but also a touch of sensuality to him. On top of that, he’s handsome! A girl’s ideal type.
Riku!! He stumbles on his introduction 😆 He’s really, really good at singing!!
The anime moves these comments to Tsumugi’s report to Takanashi papa. I like this change because we’re not just watching Tsumugi listen and watch the boys as they perform one by one.
When telling the boys about the audition results:
I like the little detail when Tsumugi goes, “Iori-kun… Iori-san.” Iori can be quite intimidating when you first meet him. Although he has a very sharp tongue, he doesn’t come off as some high school brat; he speaks really formally and is really serious about the task on hand, so it’s hard to treat him like a younger person. He has an aura that commands respect.
Side Story I
This side story is from Riku’s POV. We start from Riku walking over to Takanashi Productions to sign the contract. He was calling his mom! He tells him mom about how he won’t be like “that person” (Tenn) who abandoned his family. He calls Tenn “that person” because he doesn’t want to call him “Tenn-nii” anymore, but his mom points out how he called Tenn “Tenn-nii” just yesterday 😂😂 And then he just fully returns to calling Tenn, “Tenn-nii”. He also promised his mom that he will buy her something amazing once he gets famous 🥺❤️
Riku explains that he wants be an idol because he got curious about the job that convinced Tenn to abandon his family (Gon, is that you?)
We see Riku’s first impressions of the members. His interactions show more of his carefree, no sensor, shameless self (ily Riku), which is quite different to the good boy who works hard that we see from Tsumugi’s POV in Part 1, Ch. 1.
Riku -> Nagi: “Wow, this person has a beautiful face unlike any I’ve ever seen! Is he Japanese? …Maybe a foreigner? He face looks as pretty as a sculpture… He seems like a cool and elegant person. He must be a calm person.” (🤭). Riku says Nagi looks 25. Nagi replies that he’s nineteen in English. Riku didn’t understand but just assumed Nagi is younger than him. Iori was speechless. Mitsuki explains that nineteen = 19. Later, Riku introduces Nagi and the Izumi brothers to Sogou and Tamaki. He says the Izumi’s brothers ages normally in Japanese but chooses to use English to say nineteen for Nagi 😂😂 (He’s adorable)
Riku -> Izumi brothers: “Looks like a bright younger brother and a somewhat cold older brother. They’re probably both younger than me?” After making this assumption, he immediately treats them like younger people. He calls Iori “Iori-kun” and Mitsuki “Mitsuki-kun”. Iori immediately criticizes him, but Riku pays him no mind.🙂↕️😂 Mitsuki explains that he’s the older brother and that he’s probably older than Riku as he is 21. Riku…. Asks if that’s his shoe size. 😭😭😭😭😭 Mitsuki shouts, “That’s my age! And I’m not that small!!”. Riku is not bothered at all. He just goes “Oh ok!” Then, he POINTS HIS FINGER at Iori and asks, “Then what about this kid over here?” 😂 Iori says, “Don’t point your fingers at other people.” (Is this why they chose NOT to be in Riku’s team? 😂)
Riku -> Sogou: He looks like a nice person!
Riku -> Tamaki: This guy looks like a punk (punk with a cat ears hoodie? Rikuuuu 😂😂)
No first impression for Yamato :(
Side Story 2:
Most of this side story actually makes it into the anime! It’s the part with Sogou and Yamato buying drinks and the rest of the five’s reaction to the auditions.
We get to see a bit more in the game because we get to hear the boys’ thoughts. One of my favorite parts is seeing Iori’s more dangerous side 😌
He calls Takanashi papa a “smug, opportunistic old man”
And threatens to file a complaint, drag Takanashi Production’s reputation down, and drive Takanashi papa to bankruptcy if Mitsuki doesn’t make it in.

DRA Character Sexuality Headcanons
I’ll just be making a brief list of what sexual orientation I believe each character from the first Danganronpa Another game has. Remember, I’m not condemning anyone who disagrees with my interpretation or has a different headcanon of a character. I believe everyone is entitled to their own headcanon, even if it blatantly contradicts canon, and you don’t attack others who don’t share the same headcanon as you.
Kiyoka Maki: heterosexual.
Kiyoka spends her last FTE worrying about who’ll be a suitable boyfriend if they don’t escape, so that’s basically my justification for this interpretation.
Mitsuhiro Higa: heterosexual.
Yeah, I don’t think much explanation is needed: he sexually harasses Akane in chapter 1 and brags about how many girls he gets in his FTEs. I understand why some may interpret him as an in-denial homosexual, if only to take the piss out of him, but I don’t see it that way. Mitch is a pretty transparent character, so I doubt something as deep as that is applicable to him.
Kizuna Tomori: heterosexual.
Some see her as a repressed lesbian, which I understand why, but I see her as more of a “straight girl with severe issues in her relationship to men”. Plus, I take into account the FTEs, so Kizuna’s implied attraction to Yuki by her last FTE is indicative of her sexuality to me.
Ayame Hatano: Bisexual.
I forever headcanon Ayame is in love with Akane, but her last FTE has her blushing at Yuki, so I interpret her as a girl-leaning Bisexual.
Kakeru Yamaguchi: Bisexual.
I wholeheartedly ship Kakeru x Kanata (Kakenata? Kanakeru? Yamanori?), so that’s part of it, but Kakeru also gives major guy-liker vibes, so there you go. I also semi-ship Kakeru and Kinji, so that’s further fuel to the fire.
Kanata Inori: heterosexual.
As I just said, Kakeru x Kanata is OTP for me, and that’s all the justification I need.
Kinji Uehara: Pansexual.
This might sound unexpected, but I see Kinji as such an open-minded and big-hearted person that he wouldn’t consider the gender of his partner, even if his religion prevents him from entering any romantic relationships.
Haruhiko Kobashikawa: heterosexual.
Similar story with Mitch, except Haru isn’t nowhere near as creepy. Sure, some think he’s got some homoeroticism with Yuki in his FTEs, but his obsession with the female gender leaves me skeptical of that.
Satsuki Iranami: Pansexual.
Similar to Kinji, I believe Satsuki’s such a pure-hearted person that she wouldn’t even think about her partner’s gender. Still, Satsuhiko for the win!
Yamato Kisaragi: Pansexual.
Literally the exact same explanation with Kinji and Satsuki, only I think he’s got a preference for men.
Mikako Kurokawa: Biromantic Demisexual.
Being the mysterious and quiet girl she is in-game, I doubt Mikako would consider dating someone unless she’s built a secure, trusting relationship with them. However, I’m unsure whether this would apply to pre-game Mikako.
Teruya Otori: homoflexible.
Now, I just can’t unsee Teruya liking other guys, but I also headcanon that Teruya developed feelings for Rei between the time they escaped and pre-SDRA2, so I compensated roughly down the middle.
Akane Taira: Heteroflexible.
I view Akane as predominantly being attracted to men, but may make some exceptions for a girl or two (perhaps Ayame would fit the bill 👀)
Yuki Maeda: Heteroflexible.
Similar to Akane, he seems to be a woman-liker, but I’ve no problem with the idea of him getting together with the right man (*cough*KINJO*cough*). In regards to Utsuro, I think he’s either AroAce or Demisexual.
Rei Mekaru: Panromantic Demisexual.
See, I believe Rei would have an extremely difficult time with getting vulnerable enough with someone to consider dating them, but once a trusting relationship is established, I don’t think she’d care about her partner’s gender.
Tsurugi Kinjo: Biromantic Demisexual.
Similar to Rei, except Tsurugi may have a preference for men, given that he spent much of his backstory and post-SDRA2 presence being defined by his relationships to other men.

Compressed timeline AU where the Hokages retire younger instead of mostly dying (Minato still kicks the bucket, sorry man, should have called Hashirama to deal with Kurama instead of trying to tackle it yourself) and you just have them wandering around the village when Naruto's growing up
Bonus points for Kakashi's mom being a Senju so he ends up adopted by Tobirama. Hashirama would have volunteered but he already has Tsunade and Yamato and Mito said they weren't taking any more.
Kagami Uchiha/Tobirama Senju is a thing and Madara's still pissed about it
Madara's homophobic repressed gay
Hashirama is a useless bisexual who's absolutely crushed that Madara "hates" him
Naruto and Sasuke had screaming matches at the academy about who was going to get to be taught by the Shodaime and were both *terribly* disappointed with Kakashi, until Kakashi took them to a family dinner and they realized Hashirama is very powerful but can't teach to save his life
Kagami used to be terrified of his cousin but by now he's just like *bitch, at least I had the guts to marry the guy who kicked my ass and made me fall in love with him, fuck off*
Tobirama and Madara fucking hate each other and will leave family dinners if the other is there
Sasuke fucking hates Tobirama and Kakashi by extension until Kagami sits him down and is like "Madara's an idiot let me tell you why" "he's our clan head!" "do I look like I give a fuck-"
Sakura low-key loves Tobirama's work but she pretends to hate him at first because Sasuke does. Tobirama never quite respects her for that but after the Character Development where she learns to do things for herself he might teach her a few things if Tsunade asks.
People still keep ripping off Tobirama's jutsu and forgetting he invented it and yes he's still salty about it
He and Orochimaru got along very well before Orochimaru left the village
Naruto was upset at first but later if Tobirama scolds Kakashi for reading Icha Icha when he's supposed to be teaching this 12 year old is 1000% ready to throw down with the Lord Second for being mildly disrespectful to Kakashi-sensei
Kakashi is mildly embarrassed. Tobirama is vaguely nonplussed. Kagami is laughing so hard he can't breathe.
Shisui still dies but Kagami finds out and grabs Itachi and he and Madara get a confession out of him and killing Danzou is the only thing Madara and Tobirama have ever agreed on. They hate it but Tobirama still tells Hashirama to shut up when Madara lights Danzou on fire. It goes a ways towards the younger Uchiha stopping calling him the White Demon of the Senju.

okay but the Naruto universe is so fucking weird yet funny if you explain it and question it.
first, you have this lil orphan broke kid ninja boy named after a fishroll. then, you have an emo kid who acts like he got parents and a good way in life despite the fact he’s equally as much of an orphan as Mr. Broke-Blonde-Bitch. THEN you have this normal chick with pink hair who signed up for absolutely none of this nonsense yet got dragged into it. tell me why it’s these three against the world yet none of them can function together? it’s like watching ferrets hyped up on PCP fight over raw spaghetti noodles. dont even get me started when they were in school together, i can bet every person here 6 cents that at some point Sakura aka Ms. Fuckall got tired of Naruto and Sasuke’s bullshit and just tried to abandon them at an animal shelter.
speaking of school and general tomfoolery, why was the dude in charge of these three young squishy brained freaks the most depressed 20 something year old creature on the planet? i will admit, Kakashi is attractive and a great dude. he is so iconic, he misses his old team, and it’s clear he wanted best for his Group of Weird Children but he also reads porn all day and his mask probs smells like cheap aftershave.
if i was a 13 year old ninja child and i saw my sensai (who’s name sounds like cashew) doing all that i’d assume im either about to learn a sick ass skill (how to not cope with emotional trauma properly) or im about to get my ass handed to me. or im about to dropout.
back on track. so you’ve got orphan #1, orphan #2, Ms. Get-Me-Out-Of-Here, and Emotionally Repressed Man in one team. what do the kids do? beef for like 3048384 episodes. what does Kakashi do? try to teach them the power of friendship the entire damn series. oh, and let’s not forget that Naruto apparently has a demon fox inside him because of course he does.
anyways, once the team gets good at teaming they haul off to take their lil ninja exams. who do they meet? some kid named Gaara with smudged eyeliner and shaved brows. he’s a red-head, that’s cute. oh and he can control sand and tries to kill every child in the exams because his dad is a piece of shit hipster. who else do they meet? a kid named Rock Lee who can kick really hard, a girl named Tenten who wishes for all of us to stfu, and poor Neji who can’t keep doing this. there’s also some guy named Guy. yeah, the chunin exams nearly flop because Gaara doesn’t know how to act right.
all this is happening but the pivotal of it all? Sasuke decides to be extra emo and FUCKS OFF TO KILL HIS HALF BLIND SICKLY OLDER TWINK BROTHER.
then, Naruto decides he wants to harness his powers and FUCKS OFF WITH AN OLD ASS BUSHY HAIRED MAN WHO WRITES PORN. Jiraiya needs to be studied on a microscopic spiritual level. he is why SCP’s exist.
who let these kids out? i told you all not to feed the animals and look what happened. now theres beef between a group of kids and the akatsuki.
oh and the akatsuki?? don’t get me started. wtf is that. why is this group of fucked up people with weird powers who are being led by a ginger hive mind of corpses just wandering around? and why is Weasel, aka Itachi, in the middle of it with his goofy explosive hypnotic eyeballs? i want them all put down.
so you’ve got the evil eldirch horrors in the streets. thats fine. Naruto gets put into a new gang cuz Kakashi has to hospitalized. cool, whatever. Naruto decides to start hutning down his rogue boyfriend alongside Sakura, who became a sickass ninja doctor, along with his new sensei Yamato. wonderful… THEN SOME BITCH NAMED SAI SHOWS UP.
DO NOT GET ME STARTED.
what is that? why is it emo? why is its tongue tattooed? put it back outside bro i stg. i love him so much.
everything is just everywhere in this anime bro I can’t. Sasuke is no where to be seen, Naruto is doing fuckall across the world with his groupie, Kakashi is lowkey sad again cuz his kids are gone, and Sakura can barely breathe without issues occurring.
not just that but the twink brother named Weasel is being stupid and enables his own murder. yeah he basically wants Sasuke to come for his ass. meanwhile, Naruto comes home bigger, better, older but still broke and full of fox demon. still, not a single soul except his friends and teachers like him. shit gets even more wild, it becomes knock-off Cheetah Girls vs. The World.
girl i gotta go before i hurt someone. see yall in part 2.
(all of this is heavily unedited, apologies for mistakes)

Hi! Can I request how Yamato would act when he realizes that he's in love with someone? Thank you!
Yamato Nikaido x Reader || Yamato realizing he's in love with someone
A/N: ive got yamato fever lately idk why, good timing for this ask tho- you prob were asking for hcs but i feel like it turned out better going into depth about his thoughts in drabble form
.::.
It was perhaps a bit too dramatic when Yamato left the room after Mitsuki oh so confidently claimed that Yamato had a crush on you, citing his evidence as the older man's more tolerant and 'gentleman-like' attitude towards you whether in the group chat or in person. A instances in particular being that he'd be less quick to bring up alcohol or his more sarcastic or perverted comments when you were present in any capacity.
Even more unfortunately for him, Tamaki and Sougo were also in the living room overhearing this, making the former sprout up from his seat excaiming that there's no way the real Yama-san would do that and he'd be replaced somehow. He knew it was a joke, from Tamaki that was something he could roll his eyes and laugh off, but when it became all three of them interrogating them (moreso Sogo just being interested to hear about it) and even Iori and Riku coming in to figure out what the commotion was about..
he knew he had to flee the scene...to his bedroom. Which, while not far, he could expect to not be bothered for an hour or so.
Pathetically slouching in his chair, he smothers his face in a pillow. Of course he himself knew he liked you, that wasn't something to be in denial about...it was the thought of actually being in a relationship with you that he was afraid of.
Sure, he could 'ask' for Yaotome's potentially crappy dating advice, but he's not 16, he knows what common interests you have and how to talk to you normally. Not that he's terribly confident, but he feels like if he did ask you out for real, you wouldn't say no (or at least not something worse than no)
But imagining himself actually with you officially. Cuddling with you, openly flirting with you, confiding in you in the way only a romantic partner could provide...something about that makes his stomach turn, both with butterflies and slight nausea.
Even after the whole debacle with Mitsuki and everyone else, he just...can't bring himself to spread that to you. His repressed trauma, his vulnerable feelings, the way he snapped at nearly everyone..Yamato doesn't think he could forgive himself if all of that got shoved into your life because of him..because he couldn't control himself..what if he ends up hurting you?
What if he ends up hurting you by pushing you away, even? He knows its a habit of his, its something even he gets a little frustrated when other people do, but still, can he really just dump his entire load on you?
A muted groan is let out into the pillow, aimed at no one in particular.
After his thoughts spiraling for a good 10 minutes, a soft knock is heard at the door. By now, he could easily tell it was either Sogo, Nagi, or Iori judging by how it sounds.
He didn't really have any reason to say no to any of them...unless its Iori about to attempt to 'scold' him that idols shouldn't be thinking of dating.
"Come in.." It sounded a bit whinier as intended, but if its noticed, he can write it off as waking up from a nap.
"Yamato." The accent makes it clear who it was, light creeping into the dark room as the door was slowly pushed open.
"I heard about what happened, would you like to talk about it?" A soft, friendly smile spreads across Nagi's face.
Well, even if he has to go through Nagi of all people first, this could at least be a start to finding out how he can be a good partner to you..if that happens at all.
The two talk for a good 2 hours. The other idol was always surprisingly good at giving counterpoints to Yamato feeling bad about himself and thinking you deserved better than him.
Could he force himself to be jolly and click his heels together, determined to ask you out tomorrow? No, of course not.
However, after hearing what Nagi had to say, and attempting to see things from his point of view, it sounded less and less of a bad idea to go for it.
After all, if he didn't ask at all, he'd probably miss out on a lifetime of happiness...not that he'd admit to anyone that he thinks that'd be a possibility if he got together with you-
Nagi watches with proud eyes as his friend takes out his phone, pushing up his glasses with newfound courage.
:: ::
Your phone eventually blips while you had just gotten in from work, putting your coat on the rack after coming in from the cold into your apartment.
Looking down, you'd see it was one text from your close friend.
| Yamato : Hey, u busy tomorrow? |
Seeing that makes your heart flutter, a smile gracing your features. Blissfully unaware what'd lie in store for your and his future, you quickly text back and start to plan what you'll wear.

Digimon Adventure has consistently occupied a space in my brain for over a decade now, so I think it was only natural that I loved Amphibia and The Owl House too.
So there's definitely a baseline similarity Digimon Adventure has with the modern Disney Isekai. The shows are portal fantasy/isekai about a kid (or several) who have varying issues in their lives, mostly on the precipice of some major life change and/or figuring out who they are. Classic coming of age stuff. They meet people from the other world who they form deep personal connections with who change the course of their lives for the better. They grow to love the world they find as it is and of their own volition decide to risk their own lives to protect it, despite having the option to go home and stay safe.
I realize that this sounds very broad, but it's really in the details and the character drama where the similarities show for me: interpersonal conflict between friends and loved ones, growing up, understanding family members, being forced to separate from loved ones, parental death, adults taking advantage of kids. I could (and will) go on.
Spoilers for all three series obviously.
I mean right from the get go, Adventure starts with a group of 7 kids at a school sponsored summer camp, that gets struck by a freak storm. The kids take shelter inside a shrine, and when the weather abates find an aurora outside, which shoots small devices like meteors at them and sucks them into another world. (Technically Adventure starts with a short film taking place 4 years earlier but that's besides the point). The Owl House, also starts with Luz about to go to Summer Camp, as recommended by her school (though something she is dreading) when she runs into an old shack while chasing after a bird and ends up in another realm. Amphibia doesn't take place at Summer Camp, but towards the end of the school year, on what should have been a fun day for Anne, as a result she spends her summer in Amphibia. This is admittedly a rather petty connection, summer is a special time of year for kids, summer camp is already a unique experience for kids, birthday's are also good times for life changing events but it is still a notable similarity.
In the Digital World the kids each meet a Digimon. Throughout the show the kids Digimon reach higher forms upon reaching certain requirements, often involving personal development for their partnered child. The Digimon are like a Palisman in many ways. In fact, the Owl House's Digimon reference makes this connection for us.
When kids get their Palisman in The Owl House, it requires the kid to know what they want. Digimon grow in response to their human's growth, particularly as it relates to their associated crest. Each child in Digimon has an associated Crest. A trait that they exemplify. If they exemplify it well, their partner's get stronger, if they repress the trait their partner's won't evolve or will even devolve. I feel the concept is similar. Luz's palisman hatches when she realizes she "wants to be understood". Taichi's partner reaches Perfect when he had to be courageous enough to walk through an invisible gap in an electrified wall in order to rescue his friend. "Being Understood" is at the Core of Luz's character, and is reflected throughout the show. True Courage is at the Heart of Taichi's. Willow is "Be strong and wise to protect her friends", which is reflected in her arc about always trying to be reliable and not asking for help until it breaks her. Likewise being a good friend is at the Heart of Yamato's arc. Gus is to "go to the human world"… which maybe could be more reflective of a desire to learn and connect with others. Hikari's is "light", which is metaphorically life and growth (evolution). Of course, the girls in Amphibia have core concepts too, in the stones, Anne and Heart, Sasha and Strength, and Marcy and Wit. All traits they exemplify, but have to learn how to exemplify that trait well in temperance with the other two. In Digimon Adventure, if a character exemplifies their trait poorly, ie in a toxic way, they'll trigger a dark evolution, rampaging out of control power. When Taichi recklessly (suicidally) risks his life in hopes his partner will evolve further, his partner successfully pushes back their enemy as he hoped, but also turns on them. Sasha had to learn to use her strength to protect and lead people. Marcy had to learn to be strong enough to accept change. Anne had to get strong enough to stand up against Sasha and smart enough to keep the Plantar's safe in the human world and get back. In short the series both center a kid around an idea that facilitates their growth and gives them associated power.
Luz and Camila's goodbye in Yesterday's Lie is deeply reminiscent of Hikari and Taichi's goodbye in episode 21 of Digimon Adventure. Both feature a character (Luz and Taichi) returning home after being in another world for a long time, expecting their family to be worried only to find that they didn't even notice they were gone. However, the truth is revealed to their family member at home (Camila and Hikari) because of the presence of creature from another world, (Vee and Koromon), who the family member welcomes into the family with open arms. However, in the end of the episode Taichi and Luz must return to the other world, while promising to return home, while the Camila and Hikari try to get them to stay. Attempting to hold hands while their loved one drifts up and away in a beam of light. (And bonus! Luz and Hikari's names both literally mean light and are deeply associated with light thematically!).
Amphibia features a blue eyed blond haired girl of European descent in a human cast made up primarily of Asians, with issues stemming from her parents divorce. Digimon Adventure has a set of blue eyed blond haired brothers with some European heritage in a show with a primarily Asian human cast with issues stemming from their parents divorce. Sasha Waybright's parents divorce is potentially the cause of her control issues, controlling people so they don't leave and seeing relationships as transactional. The divorce left Yamato, a boy defined by friendship, lonely, and hesitant to connect to others and quick to resort to physical violence. It left Takeru with abandonment issues and a deep dislike of fighting, yet a blow up, lash out and cut off style of conflict resolution. Anyway all three of them lash out violently when they get upset.
The Plantar's parents died when Sprig and Polly were really young, killed tragically by a giant heron. Neither of them remember their parents well, but they still feel that grief, partially second hand from their grandfather. King's dad was unable to raise him, and dies before he can properly talk to him so he's raised by Eda under a misconception that he was a king of demon's and has an identity crisis when he discovers that was a lie. Koushiro's original parents were killed in a car crash when he was a baby. His current parents had recently lost a baby. So when Koushiro's current dad heard that his distant cousin had died leaving his son an orphan, his current parents saw it as a sign and adopted him. They weren't sure about when to tell him, but Koushiro overheard them talking about it one night and had an identity crisis. Though, I feel it's important to also include Adventure 02 in discussions of Adventure. That season features a kid whose father was killed when he was 6 who is still processing that during the events of the series. Not unlike Luz who lost her father as a young kid.
Digimon Adventure 02 also features a kid who feels irrational guilt for the death of his older brother was hit by a truck and died right in front of him. Speaking of the sequel season and Ken Ichijouji, he's got a lot of similarities to Marcy. He is a "genius" boy with chin length black hair who runs away from home into another world due to high expectations. His mental state is influenced by others, including an adult man who hopes to be able to travel to another world, for their own purposes and so takes it out on the digital world that he refuses to regard as real and subjugates it violently (Until he's broken out of his mental breakdown that is). He wished for his brother to disappear only to feel guilt when he did die. He also kind of has a green color motif when it's not black. Marcy is a "genius" girl with short black hair, and a green color motif who due to a conflict with her parents escapes into another world, befriending colonizers, and then is taken advantage of them by them them influencing her mind and controlling her body to direct a violent subjection of the inhabitants of a world. She wanted to stay together with her friends instead of going home, but that only separated from her friends, and then broke their trust when they found out about it.
Also speaking of kids manipulated into helping villains, Hunter reminds me of Tailmon. Naturally kindhearted people manipulated into loyally serving the main villain via abuse, where they are cocky and dismissive to others, coming into conflict with those that are theoretically their coworkers, until they find out the truth of who they are and are able to show their more playful, and kind side. Hunter was created by Belos to serve him, as his "nephew". He claims to have rescued Hunter when he was small, to be his family. Tailmon was separated as an egg from those she was meant to grow up with, and when she went looking for the place she belonged, found Vamdemon, ironically living in the place that her egg originated from. Vamdemon earned Tailmon's loyalty by abuse, under his rule, Tailmon grew from a "child" to an "adult". In other words both are the second in command so to speak of the person who on some level raised them, in a place that is meant to be safe. (As his Uncle/creator, Belos should be protecting him, Tailmon should have been safe in that castle). Both characters have scars caused by their abusers that they keep hidden (at least when we first meet them).
While they are being abused, they meet someone who is on their side, who knows a bit of the truth of their identity. Tailmon rescues Wizarmon, and tells her a bit about what she remembers about herself before Vamdemon beats it out of her and loyally keeps the secrets she keeps even from herself. Flapjack recognizes Hunter as a clone of Caleb. Wizarmon sacrifices his life to protect Tailmon from Vamdemon. Wizarmon's death unlocks the crest of light, and thus awakens Tailmon's evolved form, Angewomon who is able to avenge. Flapjack sacrifices himself to save Hunter from his possession from Belos. This gives him a magic of his own to use. When both characters realize the truth about their identity, that Hunter is a Grimmwalker, and Tailmon is the 8th Digimon, they are supported by a character with a name meaning "Light". Luz's interactions with Hunter lead him to finding out the truth behind Belos, before fleeing from him. She keeps Hunter's secret, and welcomes into her family. When Tailmon meets Hikari she realizes she senses something about the girl. But she's unable to directly confront her, unable to kill her like she feels she should. She rationalizes it away as not being sure while Hikari actively tries to befriend her, assuming she's a friend of her brother. This kind of character also exists to a certain extent in King Andrias, manipulated into being an evil dictator by his father, though his arc is somewhat reversed.
Luz's dad died of an illness that he was hospitalized for. Taichi has trauma regarding Hikari's illness as a child that left her hospitalized. Amity has high parental expectations, and two semi-rebellious older siblings who are a lost cause for those expectations. Joe also has high parental expectations and two older siblings who eschew the family expectations in favor of their own interests. Willow and Sora both feel obligated to shove down their own issues to try and look after others. Gus is a gifted kid who skipped grades and has issues related to being younger than his peers. One of the Digimon creatives was so horrified by kids skipping grades in America that she wrote Ken about it and has continued influence her digimon stories literal decades later.
Overall, the biggest difference between the shows premise wise (aside from the obvious inhabitants of each world) is the presence of Adults in Amphibia and The Owl House. Digimon takes the kids to a world where adults don't really exist. Sure there are more mature, adult-like (and adult level) monsters. But they're still not human adults. Digimon don't age or reproduce like humans, so they don't have a concept of parenting beyond babies. Or y'know. Have general concern for child safety. Which means that the kids have to depend on themselves and their partners to survive with no adult supervision during most of the show. While each kid has a decently fleshed out family life, primarily the threats are handled by the children alone since they mostly take place in a world that only the kids can access. But that doesn't mean the adults aren't supportive. When things do take place in the human world, the adults help out with food, transportation, keeping the media off their backs and emotional support. I think this sort of comes from Amphibia and The Owl House's perspective on child heroes, played straight with a bit of self awareness. While Amphibia DOES play it straight, even making Sprig and Polly orphan's it takes the time to involve Anne's parents and get their blessings, and features Grime and Hop Pop as adult figures. The adults aren't dumb, but they aren't obstacles for the kids either. And of course, The Owl House bumps up adult involvement, making Camila go WITH Luz back to the Demon Realm. Either way in all shows the adults are fully fledged characters for the most part with flaws, both as people and as parents. And the kids are recognized to be just kids at the end of the day, no matter how much they accomplish.
We get to see the parents help, worry and grieve over their kids, and of course have reunions both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
All series end with the main characters dying, via breaking into pieces during their final fight, and then getting revived. In Amphibia and TOH of course, Anne and Luz meet "God". After Anne uses the stones for one last ultimate attack, Anne meets what is actually a deity who gave the stones to mortals as a test which Anne passed. Luz meets what everyone worships as a god, who gives her his last bit of power to use as a final attack because he approved of her and has been subtly supporting her. Though the sequence of events differ, Anne and Luz are both chosen for their actions, rather than by destiny. The kids in Digimon met their "god" stand in about 15 episodes before the final fight. Their "god" stepped in when given the opportunity to explain why they were chosen, after they had already chosen out of their own volition to return to the fight: the "god" was desperate to fix the instability and the mysterious trait that these children were observed to have that caused a Digimon to rapidly evolve seemed like their only hope. More of a desperate hope than anything, but from it the prophecy of the chosen was born.
Amphibia's also got a prophecy that is really more of a plea for help. It refers to the wielders of the stones, which in this case was the girls. They weren't really chosen, but happenstanced into it, and it was clear that not even the creator of the stones really knew what would transpire. Digimon Adventure, the kids are the "Chosen Children" (Digidestined in the dub). They were actively chosen, for their mysterious potential, and so preparations were made that would hopefully aid them in saving the worlds. Even the choosers are in the dark about the details. TOH of course has no chosen one, except that in the kindness Luz gave King, King's father the titan gave back, bringing her back from the dead for one final stand. The titan didn't prepare per se, but definitely was helping guide Luz towards the skills that would help her save the world. Choosing her. A reoccurring idea in later Digimon Adventure media is that the Chosen Children, choose themselves. They choose to fight, even before they knew who chose them. They chose to continue fighting. The main villain in The Owl House, parades himself as a fake chosen one, using that status to manipulate people. The final arc of Digimon Adventure 02, features many people jealous of our main characters for their specialness, before they get their own Digimon. A sort of "prophecies, destiny, chosen heroes are something you make yourself, even if circumstances help facilitate it. No matter how people are guided towards it, ultimately destiny is about choices.
The Guardian: Look, I created the stones to see how mortals would handle unlimited power. Turns out.... not that well. Would you believe that after over 10,000 years, you're the only individual who used that power for good? Anne: Uh... This is a lot to take in right now. I mean, do I have a choice? The Guardian: Well, of course you do! I'm not a jerk. Anne: Well then... I'm gonna have to pass.
The Guardian: Wha?! No! I haven't even told you about Bagel Fridays!
Amphibia ends, of course, with the stones destroyed, save for three shards that is just enough to let the girls go home. The girls tearfully depart, with their final goodbyes to. Sasha isn't able to say goodbye to Percy and Braddock and asks Grime to greet them on her behalf. Then a flash-forward shows us how Amphibia is doing after the girls left, and then all the way 10 years in the future to show who the girls became. Digimon Adventure proper ends with the gate between worlds closing, and the restructuring digital world at risk of damaging the kids foreign bodies. So the kids must go home, and each take the time to tearfully bid farewell. However, as definitive as Adventure's ending may seem, it was always meant to be temporary, 02 beginning the very next week. The true intended ending being pushed to 02. In the true ending, right after the final battle and sacrifice, there were no goodbyes so it cuts to 25 years in the future, and shows the worlds at peace, a future where a Digimon partner exists or every person and people can freely travel between worlds. The Owl House also skips directly from the end of the final fight, no tearful goodbyes, to a few years in the future to show how everyone is doing. The group all regularly traveling between the worlds.
Overall I just have a soft spot for stories about real world kids with real world issues getting dealt with in the context of world changing life or death fantasy scenarios. The ability to represent the issues in unique ways while still talking about real issues straightforwardly is fun. And I'm glad to see that other stories in the genre got their time in the limelight for a while. But I hadn't really seen anyone talk, in depth about the similarities of the two shows to Digimon. It's not like Digimon Adventure invented the Portal Fantasy with Kids genre, but the inspiration is clearly there. There isn't any direct reference to Digimon in Amphibia, but Matt Braly has stated in an interview that he was partially inspired by Digimon. Though it is apparent he hadn't seen it in a while, the Myotismon arc and the way the show handled its parents seems to have stuck with him. As far as I can tell, there is only the one reference to Digimon in Owl House (Unless that really is the crest of knowledge on Titan Luz's chest), and I don't think Dana Terrace has ever said anything about Digimon so it's possible she's never seen it. But someone on her team must have seen it in order to reference it. I'm not saying all of these similarities were definitely pulled from Digimon, because a lot of them are very broad tropes seen in a lot of things, or could have been thought up independently. And a lot of these similar characters and plot points are very different in the details and execution. Just because characters are similar doesn't mean the same obviously. But it's still the same genre, and they all handle a lot of the same beats in different ways and its fun to see what's different and the same between three shows I enjoyed a lot.
#Obviously there's a lot of Tamers in there too#D-Reaper and Juri and the Core and Marcy#Takato and Luz fantasy becoming reality but not what they expect#Anne and Takato having parents in the food industry#Sasha and Ruki being battle crazed and looking to use the denizens of the other world#conflict with the government turned collaboration#human xenophobia#to a certain extent the Amphibia's ending is more Tamer than Adventure#depending on which post canon content you adhere to#and obviously survive which is basically more mature adventure#so it deals more frankly with the child abuse and child death themes#but this is already way too long#Also I think star also has a lot in common with these but I haven't actually watched it start to finish just the odd episode here and there#I don't think it was ever really quite my thing#but again this was already too long#you would not believe how many things I cut#Digimon Adventure#Amphibia#The Owl House#Digimon#TOH

I Cannot Reach You/Kimi ni wa Todokanai - final thoughts
This is one I had seen a ton of praise for, but didn't know when I would fit it in. And then through a series of lucky/unlucky events (it coming to Netflix and available for download, me having an impending storm where I knew I would likely lose power, me actually losing power), I managed to watch it in one dark and chilly evening.
Japan does it again, y'all.
Talking about heart - this show is utterly imbued with it.
Honestly, my only cons are that it was so short, and I wish it had delved a little further into the start of their relationship. Also Maeda Kentaro does look his age, but that's a minor quibble for how well he played the part. That's pretty much it.
Pros:
The longing. My god, the longing. Japan does repressed feelings so damn well. As someone who tends to keep a lot of myself close to the chest, the intensity of what you can feel even when you're showing very little really resonates.
I also really loved Kakeru's journey in figuring out his sexuality. Again, relatable. Sometimes a feeling just hits you, and you have this moment of "wait, what?".
Also Kakeru's feeling of not being good enough for Yamato. I wish I didn't connect so hard with that, but I do.
And the moment where Kakeru admits this to Yamato, and Yamato breaks, because he loves him so damn much.
All of Yamato's love, and desperation, and hope. The feeeels.
I also loved the side characters, Yui in particular. He's this adorable little queer guru who just wants his fellow gays to live their best life. Soichiro was adorbs. Akane was the epitome of the girl with a crush who is genuinely caring and supportive. No one was callous or cruel.
This is a must watch, y'all. It's on Netflix in the US, let them know that they need to get more of this kind of thing!

I Cannot Reach You - Kimi ni wa Todokanai REVIEWED
This image perfectly captures how I feel about this show. You ready? I wasn't.
I Cannot Reach You
AKA I Can't Reach You AKA Kimi ni wa Todokanai
Japan 2023 - 8 eps 20 ea approx 2.5 hours
Themes, main tropes & archetypes: friends to lovers, tsundere/sunshine, self acceptance, self worth, high school BL, live action yaoi, soft romance, kindness
Rating? 10/10
Yeah, it happened again in 2023.
Adapted from a manga.
The moment I finished binging this show I was thinking about writing about it and re-watching it. This is a sure sign that I adored a piece of media.
This is a wonderful BL.
Truly well executed, with smooth filming and lovely acting, both of a simplistic style that felt slightly more Korean than it did Japanese. It reminded me a little bit of Seven Days and a little bit of Takara and Amagi, and since these are my two favorite high school JBLs obviously I was bound to adore ICRY.
But what it reminded me of more than anything was Cherry Blossoms After Winter.
Odd for JBL and KBL to be so closely linked.
Like CBAW show, ICRY is classic live action yaoi.
Like the MOST classic of CLASSIC.
All the JBL tropes. I mean look at that image above? It's rooftop assignation, kabedon, and a handhold ALL AT ONCE.
There was also multiple runnings of the gays, surprise kisses (one on a bridge), and shoulder leans.
There is even a “seme looses control to desire” scene which leads to dub con. There is an abject apology after but still - you’ve been warned.
The premise is: smart sporty hot (and hella gay) Yamato has a long standing crush on his silly sunshine sweetheart bestie, Kakeru. Yamato is also stiff, self isolated, shy, and has only ever really managed to get along with Kakeru. I love this kind of pining seme so damn much, it probably biased me.
Unlike most uke, Kakeru starts to slowly figure out that his best friend is in love with him by ep 2 (let the chaos bisexual identity crisis commence).
So do some of the friends around them.
The story thus revolves around Yamato trying to unsuccessfully suppress his desire, and Kakeru trying to figure out if he can return Yamato‘s affection.
This biggest barrier is actually Kakeru's feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness (when compared to Yamato). But this is tempered by his genuine kindness which forces him into act with integrity around his dear friend's love and strive to fix everything (even himself) to prove worthy of it - whether he can ultimately return it or not.
Kakeru's struggles are pitted against Yamato‘s repressed need that keeps bubbling over and figuratively (sometimes literally) attacking Kakeru with romantic, emotional, and physical intensity.
Quick pitch:
I’m not gonna lie, I dithered over whether to give this a 10/10 and nearly didn’t. But there is nothing wrong with it AS A BL.
And it's so GOOD to ALL of its characters and they are so good to each other. It's quiet, and because of that and its goodness, it will get overlooked, but I LOVED IT.
It's not one of those that BL outsiders will get and you must like Japan's style to enjoy it. But I'm in it. It's for me.
What am I hung up over? Even the kisses are good.
10/10
I CAN'T RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH
Welcome to a very elite club. I gotta change all my best of lists now.
I am sorry to tell you how difficult this show is to get hold of. It deserves a much wider distribution. As of Nov 2023 I do not know where to legally find it internationally with eng subs. Please check the comments for updates.
It's on Netflix in some countries!
Try to find it, you won't regret it.

Yamato:
1. like the epitome of golden retriever boy. He's huge and silly and strong and has big boobs. also he has dog powers which is cool.
2. He's 28 and lived a very sheltered life... wearing explosive chains, trapped on an island and hunted down by his father and subordinates. So, he's most likely a virgin now (unless he fucked Ace), but he's now free and living large as a hero, able to get out all of that repressed energy from 20 years of house arrest.
He idolizes and wants to be Kozuki Oden who, at the age of 15, seduced so many married women that their husbands took up arms and fought him in the Harem War. And Yamato KNOWS this because he read Oden's journal. If Yamato really wants to emulate Oden, he needs to FUCK like him, too! Yamato's the strongest person currently living in Wano, he's got the stamina and power for a whole nation.
Wei WuXian:
Every bitch in the universe wants his pussy so bad it's embarrassing. Male and female. Nobody can stop thinking about him for 20 years. The most celibate man in the world became obsessed with him, psychologically and sexually. His pussy knows no bounds.

Naruto: Yamato/Tenzou NSFW headcanons/drabble
—————————-*
disclaimer: edging, soft dom, mentions of violence, use of pet names (doll, pretty girl, darling, daddy)
—————————-*
Within the Shinobi world, partnerships aren’t unheard of and definitely aren’t rare. Teamwork is a staple of the konoha model after all. Genin starting in teams of three, Anbu working in teams of four. Madara and Hashirama, the village’s founders, The legendary Sannin. Bonds between teammates are never far in konoha, but it would be… dishonest to call ANBU Agent Cat and Anbu Agent Mouse simply… partners.
it was well known within ANBU black ops that where cat is, mouse is never far behind or vice versa.
You two knew each other since the dark days of Root, being placed on teams together because of your unique jutsu and kekkai genkai. Through years of service together you became inseparable, both on the battlefield and off.
On the field, You cover each other’s backs as naturally as breathing, Tenzo slipping into an opponents guard while you engage them from the front, you targeting senbon at Tenzo’s opponents legs as he goes for the kill. Slipping between opponents interchangeably, consolidating kills, covering weak points, a truly indispensable duo. stories of your exploits spread as well as fear of your famed partnership.
Outside of the field, you two were practically tied at the hip. Sharing a bunk from the ages of 7 onwards was pretty good at bringing people together, but your relationship spanned more than just forced proximity. As young children, you found comfort in each other that you couldn’t find in anyone else. You were the first to treat him separately from the Shodaime’s power, and he was the first to see you as more than a beautiful tool. More often than not, sharing bunks turned to sharing the bed, usually his.
It was one late night after a strenuous mission, with you curled up on his bed that he realized exactly what he had with you, love. Despite ROOT trying to train emotions out of its agents, his love for you kept him more human than most, a thought that scared him at first. Seeing how easily you made yourself vulnerable in front of him nearly every night only solidified that this relationship was different than the ones he had with other agents.
No other agent would share warmth with him at night in the cold underground bunks of ROOT. No other Agent could fill his heart with the indescribable feelings you did. And he certainly wouldn’t let any other agent hold you after an unpleasant seduction mission, your body shaking in repressed tremors.
Your beauty was something that he was always aware of, something that only flustered him when he got older, but something they he sometimes hated. Your beauty often made you the ideal agent for seduction missions, where men of enemy affiliation would be given a chance to look at you in ways Tenzo hated, and sometimes even get a pass at you. He hated the men but most of all he hated Danzo, who taught you these missions were just another facet of your purpose in life.
When Tenzou was taken out of ROOT, you followed shortly after. Though the time in between was a sad and vulnerable period for both you. Without his partnership, you were sent out on more uncomfortable missions, your beauty once again rearing its head on the mission roster.
For Tenzo, not seeing you gave him anxiety. perhaps you both were co-dependent, no you definitely were. He could care less though. The life of shinobi was cold and ruthless and if he, a prodigious, experimented on, tortured ROOT agent could find comfort in your soft hands, then he would.
Being placed on Team Ro together again though drew you close again, made you almost in-separable. Just as quickly as you become infamous for your deadly nature, you became known for constantly being together. Within ANBU, this was less frowned upon, but it still drew you both attention, much to Tenzo’s dislike.
In ANBU, he could afford to be possessive though, and possessive he was. Kakashi was the first to know of your relationship, but it wasn’t like you were hiding it. You carried extra ration bars in Tenzou’s favorite flavor and he always gave you his cloak on colder missions. When camping out, you two could be seen tangled together in the sparse hours of sleep you could get before watch shifts. Both of your masks discarded next to each other next to your sleeping bodies, his larger form blocking you from the behind as though to shield you from the outside world. He’d always give you the spot closer to the fire as well, knowing of your tendency to run cold. If you let out even a shiver, he’d simply hug you closer, tighter.
During battles, anyone who approached you would be treated with a specific vengeance sewn rarely in Tenzou’s usual fighting style. Quicker to become a wooden pincushion than touch you, his girl.
You weren’t any different in that regard. Taking enemy nin to their knees with waves and waves of senbon and ninjutsu for daring to hurt Tenzou.
If anyone believed fear was stronger than love well, kakashi would simply point to Team Ro’s resident Cat and Mouse.
Outside of missions, this possessive/protective nature was still strong. In the ANBU communal showers, any moment you two aren’t alone, he’s standing in front your naked form like a shield, preventing anyone else from seeing your beauty, a sight for his eyes only. His larger form dwarfed your frame, so all anybody else could see was the top of your head really, a fact which made some of the more perverted ANBU agents disappointed, considering your beauty had become common knowledge.
Tenzou had staked his claim rather early on much to the chagrin of other agents who consistently eyed you up and down. Back when you joined ANBU, it was the worst, with wolf-whistles and preying eyes trailing after your figure. But Tenzou serving as your deadly shadow culled much of the unwanted advances.
Showering together has always been a big MO for you guys, wether it be in ROOT, ANBU, or the comfort of your shared apartment. Standing together underneath the warm stream of water in his apartment shower brought comfort to both your straining muscles and need for affection.
In more ways than one he lived to serve, and took joy in washing your hair and your body if you let him. Always delicate with your softer skin and petite frame. You could swear, Tenzou had a body like the great oaks he manipulated, strong and broad and enrapturing. He took pride in how his large hands could cover you, from the way he could pin you with one hand, and cover your waist with both,
to how he could gently fondle your sweet breasts in his hand and make your breathe stutter by pinching your cute nipples. Everything about him is big, and he’d always be obsessed with how he could get you mewling as he fingers open your sweet sweet pussy. His fingers long enough to touch all your sweet spots, broad enough to have you seeing stars.
It’s not a good shower for him if he doesn’t get you wet in a different way too. He loves the way you cling to his broad shoulders as he ruthlessly bullies his fingers into your cunt, letting his large palm grind against your swollen clit at the same time, your quivering legs unable to hold yourself up any more.
He’d definelty be a tease about it too, whispering absolute filth in your ears he probably learned from Kakashi and that damned book of his.
“look at you darling, so wet for me.”
You’d moan out against his shoulder desperately as he plays with all the sensitive nerves of your pussy. He’d finger you all the way to the edge while still in the shower, keeping you on the edge of an orgasm until the water gets cold.
“you wanna cum, doll? want daddy to make you cum?” he smirks as you nod desperately against his shoulder, his large hand coming to roughly grab your face and make you look at him.
“say it sweet thing” he demands, taking pleasure in the fucked out look on your face, already dumb with pleasure and you haven’t even come yet.
“p-please.. cant- lemme cum please” you moan so whorishly, trying to grind your hips down further onto his fingers.
He’d smile at you then, so proud of his pretty girl. But Tenzou, with the patient of a saint, could wait a long time before he broke, and your pretty little whines did little to his self-control, so of course he kisses you softly, works his fingers into you a little quicker, until your breath grows sharp and your whines get higher and higher until-!
“Not yet, pretty girl.”
And your brought down from the orgasm to dangle on the edge, tears running down your pretty face and your whole body shaking, whining and babbling like a slut.
He’d turn off the shower then, and begin wiping the both of you off, rubbing his hands gently over your pert pink nipples, teasing them and then kissing them in apology, making your thighs shake. He’d be a gentle asshole really. Drying your off with the towel slowly, getting even slower as he reaches your dripping cunt. Drying the inside of your thighs and your mound, teasing so so close to where you want him, but never giving you relief.
He’d actually take you to bed then, naked on his freshly washed sheets. What’s the point in getting dressed if he’s just gonna take it all off of you again after all?
He’s set your practically limp form on the bed and climb over you, kissing you from your lips to your neck to your collarbones to your breasts. Leaving hickies and bite marks all the while, leaving one big dark hickey right on the top of your shoulder, where you could never hope to cover it with your sleeveless black ANBU turtleneck.
He’d ravage your body all the way down to his favorite destination. Your dripping wet pussy.
I’ve already mentjones that this man loves to serve right? well serve he fucking does. because despite how much he teased you in the shower, he loves nothing more to draw orgasm after orgasm from you with just his tongue. And that’s exactly what he does.
Delving into your wet heat like a man staved, going slow at first, teasingly blowing on your hard clit, making you squirm with his mouth and the promise of release so so close. He’d take your clit into his mouth and suck like it’s his favorite candy, before moving down to your precious little slit.
With all the teasing from earlier, it takes mere moments for you to be close, and he knows it because of your hands digging desperately into his brown hair, and your shaking legs clenching around his shoulders like a life line.
“you gonna cum doll?” he’d ask, and you’d shake even harder, pussy throbbing and your mouth whining.
“y-yes-! please don’t stop. Oh god-! please-! pleasepleaseplease.” he’d smile at that, blow against your throbbing clit and tease you one last time.
“beg for it darling.” He knows what he’d doing, smiling to himself as your cries turn desperate, your hips attempting to grind your pinky, dripping pussy against his mouth.
“please daddy please-! please i’ll be good! please let me cum.”
He’d let his tongue roughly caress your folds, slurping up your juices before pulling away.
“Why don’t you say ‘pretty please with a cherry on top’ darling?” and he’s really just being a dick now, holding the orgasm over you like a true sadist, but he knows you love it.
“p-pretty please-! with a cherry on top” You beg cutely, and who is he to deny when you do.
“Good girl,” he says proudly, “ you can cum.” His mouth seals around your twitching clit and sucks harshly, his fingers coming up to bully their way into your slit, his rough tongue against your sensitive bundle of nerves finally bringing you over that well awaited edge. Your pussy gushes against his mouth and he licks up your spend eagerly.
When Tenzou finally looks away from your pretty pink cunt, his eyes almost glow with satisfaction at your beautiful form. Naked and fucked out on his bed, with his marks bruising on your delicate skin, eyes wet with tears and face flushed with pleasure.
Everything you’ve ever gone through together seems worth it when he’s got you, his girl, in his favorite place.
