Erasermic (Aizawa Shouta/Hizashi Yamada) Big Rec Fic List for starters and not
Hello everyone! I’m fandomofhappiness, and today I’d love to share with Erasermic fans my silly reader’s selection of fanfics! I’m still looking for new stories. And this list will definitely update! I would especially like to give this rec to those who are just starting out. When I got into the fandom, I searched through all possible recommendation lists. I hope my own list will help new Erasermic fans and even those who have been here for a while.
I want to present you with the best of the best, which, according to my preferences in writing style, plot complexity and brilliance of the authors, amazed me during my time in the fandom. I won’t drag it out, let's go!
P.S.: This list doesn’t contain PWP stories, I’m not really here for smut but there are stories that contain 18+ chapters.
fandomofhappiness’s top five + 1 greatest Erasermic stories:
The Waters of Lethe by buffyaddict13 Married Erasermic, Case and Rescue Fic | 179,133 words
foh’s comment: A relatively new story with a mind-blowing plot. The fanfic has catastrophically few kudos, I consider it one of the most underrated. While rescuing a boy from weirdo dealers, Eraserhead is captured and placed with 10 other people who are going to be sold. Present Mic and a team of heroes plan to save the victims. But there is much more to save than it seems.
The Way I Behaved by ForTheWoolfy Villains & Heroes, Action & Adventure, Hurt/Comfort | 117270 words
foh’s comment: One of the most heartbreaking stories, so wonderful and beautifully written that I fucking choked on tears. Don't worry about the description, don't worry about Mic being the bad guy. I implore you to read this story, I would have been happy if someone had recommended it to me when I was starting out.
Nine Lives by machiroads Aizawa-centric, Hospitals and Injury Recovery, Post-Paranormal Liberation War Arc, Slow Burn | 149,559 words
foh’s comment: This fanfic was a great inspiration to me. It is a masterpiece of understanding the character, immersion in medicine, the unique intimacy between characters, friendship, respect - this is the beauty of this fanfic. The story of Aizawa's recovery after losing his leg and eye.
Present Mic's Totally Bullshit Life by Kyurilin Biography Fic, Slow Burn | 54,952 words
foh’s comment: One of the earliest stories I happen to read. I couldn't get through it the first time because it was too heavy for me. At the time I started reading, I didn't even know who Oboro is. Brilliant in its beauty and description of Present Mic’s character. This fic for those who are not afraid to break a heart and put it back together piece by piece.
And the Sky Wept by tiniest_hands_in_all_the_land Yamada-centric, Biography Fic, Slow Burn, Angst | 155,468 words
foh’s comment: A very detailed and truly heart-breaking story about two friends going through the grief of losing their best friend. Depicts moments of Yamada Hizashi’s life trying to cope with loss, while making an effort to remain his and Aizawa’s friendship. I cried a lot and was devastated. It’s not easy to read but it worth its happy ending.
Enchanted by MarziPanda95 Yamada-centric, Quirk Accident, Angst, Hurt/Comfort | 30,045 words
foh’s comment: This is one of the best Erasermic plot-stories! I warn you: there's heavy angst!Hizashi. Yamada gets hit with quirk that allows every single person victim faces to give them commands and the victim obeys them unquestioningly. All week Present Mic carries out other people's tasks and commands, until one day the worst happens.
No Quirks AU:
teach me a lesson (about you) by frootjuiceg Teachers and Schools, Campings, Getting Together | 18,565 words
foh’s comment: I love AUs where there are no quirks, like some modern AU. Yamada and Aizawa are just some normal HS teachers. Yamada tries to befriend with Aizawa flirting his way out to Shouta’s heart, but Aizawa thinks they have nothing in common until a school trip changes his mind.
By Moonlight Getting Together, From Strangers to Lovers, Secret Identity | 41189 words
foh’s comment: Hizashi works as a reporter for a gossip column. He decides to write about an avenger, not suspecting that his close colleague, with whom he begins to fall in love, is the avenger he writes about. This is SO interesting and romantic, please read it was wild.
Black Keys Make Music Too by RohanBerry
Aizawa-centric, Slow Burn, Widowhood, Hurt/Comfort | 65432 words
foh’s comment:
One of the best No Quirks!AU, felt so realistic when I first read it. An overwhelming and beautiful in its sadness, but there’s a happy ending. After death of his husband, Oboro, Aizawa doesn't live, rather he exists. And that was until the day he met his new neighbour who started to play piano at Sundays.
Hook, Line, and Sinker by KuriKuri Getting to Know Each Other, Mistaken Identity | 26,116 words
foh’s comment: A simple, slightly long, and a little confounded story about a teacher and a famous singer meeting online. Only the teacher doesn't think he's talking to a real celebrity.
Aizawa the Aristocat by Collateral_Beauty Cats AU (the Aristocats AU, your honour), Family Feels and Dynamics, Probably Unfinished Work | 53,810 words
foh’s comment: Wait! I could scare with ‘probably unfinished’, but please-please go read it. It’s so well-written and very interesting. Like it’s the living dream: Cat Aizawa adopting some kittens, rescues and action, humour and romance… CATS. Go on, support the dear author, maybe they will write more chapters.
Toil & Trouble by KuriKuri Getting To Know Each Other, Magic | 11248 words
foh’s comment: 10/10 cuteness, magic, and romance. Shota is a witch who can turn into a cat. Hizashi is his neighbour-siren with a very sunny balcony.
The Ascension of Sunlight by YamiHeart AU Space Deities, Hurt/Comfort | 5512 words
foh’s comment: A love story between the moon and the sunlight. A very beautiful and short story.
A Demonstration in Dueling by ByTheBi and GhostAlebrije Established Erasermic | 1,833 words
foh’s comment: So, I needed this particular AU. Go ahead, read about two flirting professors bastards dueling in front of students.
Necessity by Zombiesms Erasermic x Steven Universe Fusion AU | 614 words
In-Canon Verse Fics
Post-It Notes by StarBeeCreates Mutual Pining, Identity Reveal, Action and Case Fic | 53,139 words
foh’s comment: Flirty-ass villain Present Mic and pining Hero Eraserhead playing mouse-cat game revealing very-big plot. Go read it, it really worth every praise I give it.
Dirtied Black Heart by politelydeclined Married Erasermic, Character Study, Post-USJ, PTSD | 3,795 words
foh’s comment: A brilliant description of Aizawa's PTSD after USJ. It's works like this that make Erasermic worth reading. Author explores how USJ affected Shouta's personal life from different angles, very touching and encouraging story.
If At First You Don't Succeed... by MarziPanda95 Yamada-centric, Groundhog Day, Heavy Angst | 26,625 words
foh’s comment: I admit that I don't know if there have been any other Groundhog Day or time loop works, but I can tell you that this gem is one of them. I'll warn you right away: this is a very heavy story. But it's worth every single word.
Written Words by formerlyBravo Diaries and Letters Fic, High School Sweethearts, Secret Relationship | 10,949 words
foh’s comment: I love the diary concepts! Because it's like a little detective story, even if we know who it's about, the main characters don't. And it's a really cute story about how the girls of 1A found a diary, in which someone tells their love story.
Across Our Universe by LeafontheWinf2 Mutual Pining, Action/Adventure, fckn YEARNING | 32992 words
foh’s comment: It will be mostly a happy story about friendship and space adventures! A little angst, because that's always necessary, but overall it should be fun. And the two angsty boys will be sweet and romantic and will be together by the end. A MAJOR crossover with Doctor Who. One of the best stories I've ever read! Emotional, beautiful, very cleverly constructed. The Doctor is just awesome bean.
All of Me by ill go with that then (Linelenagain) Established Erasermic, Proposal Fic | 8,111 words
foh’s comment: Aizawa Shouta’s trying to propose for almost 8k words. It’s funny but emphasizes an important part in relationship – to talk to your partners.
Catastrophes and Companions by estelraca Aizawa-centric, Cats | 15,685 words
foh’s comment: This story felt very differently when I first read it. In most stories, Aizawa already has cats, sometimes even more than one. This fanfic attracted me because Aizawa wants to get a cat so much, but he always makes a responsible decision not to. The story is about the importance of responsibility to our little friends, about dreams, unfulfilled and fulfilled.
Improbable Botany 101 by Tierfal Yamada-centric, Hanahaki Disease | 46,486 words
foh’s comment: One of the best Erasermic fanfics I've ever had the honour of reading. The author's style is so melodious, so gentle and soft. It seemed a bit drawn out, but I was happy from start to finish. My favourite part is the radio show.
Just a Push by Say_Jay Teenage Fic, Trainings | 4,940 words
foh’s comment: A beautiful and incredible story from Say_Jay about two boys training together to be the best. I really like how the boys' motives and actions are described. The text is very light but intriguing. It's a pleasure to read.
on air by lonelydoctors Marriage Proposal, Fluff | 2,846 words
foh’s comment: I'm really trying to pick more realistic and heavy works to read! I do really try! But I'm just a human, and forgive my silly heart, but I can't pass by such a frank writing! I can't. So forgive my sentimentality. Shouta proposes Hizashi during his show.
look after you by dizzyingly_dreamy Family Feels and Dynamics, Angst and Fluff | 10,512 words
foh’s comment: Classic EraserMic+Shinsou Family fanfic, but with a nice touch of deep analysis from the author. Though you may find the idea not really original, it has really good points on Aizawa’s character, you just can’t go away from this story before you finish reading.
Grounded by thechaoscryptid Aizawa-centric, Hurt/Comfort, Mental Health Issues | 2,197 words
foh’s comment: A pictorial text-study of character’s dissociation. I would call it a cruel beauty of words.
Year by Year (two-shot series) by ill go with that then (Linelenagain) Getting Together, High School Sweethearts | 12,444 words
foh’s comment: Written before Shirakumo appeared in canon! One of the cutest things I've ever read. Don't get me wrong, I don't like over-the-top fluff either - I'm all for realism! But... this is irresistible. Just read it. How One Training Session Leads to Friendship, Love, and Mutual Help.
Change Comes by fecklessphilanderer Aizawa-centric, Character Study, Angst, Post-USJ | 4252 words
foh’s comment: For these little gems that I love fanfiction. The work isn't long, but it covers an interesting topic. Shouta's face changes slightly after plastic surgery after USJ attack. He doesn't notice it until it's specifically pointed out. This work is wholesome and absolutely brilliant.
“Promise.” by Lingxz After-UA, Grief, Miscommunication | 7,793 words
foh’s comment: This isn’t really Erasermic romance story but it studies their relationship on the deep level, discovering their lives after losing Oboro. No more words, it’s very sad, but it’s hopeful.
Tattletale and The Path We Chose by LipstickVenom AU! Present Mic is Vigilante, Angst and Action | sum. ~250k words
foh’s comment: Initially I wanted to list them separately, but calling them series seemed wrong. They flow smoothly into each other, if the author had not chosen to separate them, it would have been a full-fledged big story of 250k+ words.
In my opinion, another underrated work on these two. A very plausible explanation of the relationship. Slow-burn, but not so slow to get bored. I love this work for the nakedness of feelings, for the plausibility of emotion. Plot is driving and interesting to catch on, so – go on!
Family Ties (series) by LipstickVenom Hurt/Comfort, Biography Fic, Family | 12975 words
foh’s comment: A great two-fic series exploring Shouta's household and past. From one of my favorite authors.
Ledges. by sunkensubtext Mutual Pining, Weddings | 16592 words
foh’s comment: A great love story in the good old mutual pining style. Shouta's family is here! And they are nice people. Shouta's older sister is getting married in America, Shota takes Hizashi with him to translate. Two fools try to hide that they have feelings.
Finding Safety in the Mountains by ravyn_sinclai Different Meeting AU, Getting to Know Each Other, Hurt/Comfort | 24298 words
foh’s comment: Very beautiful and relatively fresh story! In this story, Yamada and Aizawa are not heroes, but ordinary people trying to find salvation in a small village and live a quiet peaceful life. I repeat, everything in this fanfic is beautiful: from the description of the nature and town to the plot. Just read it!
Still Here by buffyaddict13 Pre-Relationship, Character Study, Angst, Spoilers to last chapters | 6201 words
foh’s comment: It was very hard to read even though it catches on manga and anime scenes. This work studies deeply Aizawa and Yamada feelings and dealing with the death of Oboro. If you really like Rooftop Trio storyline you’ll be very involved. I respect everything that buffyaddict13 writes, so your turn to read it.
when you cried, I learned what helplessness tastes like. because all I could do was swallow by ethereal_catharsis Getting Together, Abusive Relationships, Heavy Hurt/Comfort | 7485 words
foh’s comment: Hizashi has an abusive boyfriend, his friends are very worried. And Shouta heavily caring for him worries more than anybody. If abusive relationships triggers you please be aware, this shit is sick. I wanted to read something like this because this theme is important to be known and discussed.
Reasons by Nobody has no body Aizawa-centric, First Meeting, Action | 6k+ words
foh’s comment: Written pre-Oboro. The story of how Shouta entered the first year of the hero academy, met Hizashi, and survived the fight with the villain. Very detailed and analyzing fic.
Present Mic is Civilian AU
A Few Disasters Short by Robbirdthe8th (FictionalFeather) Different Meeting AU, Getting Together, Pining | 36,781 words
foh’s comment: Hizashi is a famous musician who happens to visit a cat cafe owned by Aizawa and his small family. Hizashi comes there for inspiration and a desire to get to find out more about the mysterious owner of the cafe. A wonderful romantic story, with some vigilante!Shinsou and precious Eri.
missing out (on you) by White Different Meeting AU, Getting to Know Each Other | 23,456 words
foh’s comment: An interesting and romantic take on what would happen if Yamada wasn't a hero, but a simple radio host who encountered the underground hero Aizawa. A simple but captivating story.
Musutafu Nights: Track 1 by ByTheBi Different Meeting AU, Getting to Know Each Other | 1,844 words
foh’s comment: Short but cute. This civllian!AU has grown on me.
The Waiting Area by MarziPanda95 Hospitals, Getting Together | 23,158 words
foh’s comment: If you ever watched ‘Just like Heaven’ (a 2005 film), you may find some references. It’s romantic and a little bit silly, but somehow I grew on it. Hizashi here is so clever and so lovely.
Quirk Accident Trope:
deep roots do not wither by Ink_On_Parchment Mutual Pining, Flower Language | 12,018 words
foh’s comment: Mic gets hit with some child’s innocent quirk that makes a crown of flowers that indicates his deep feelings. If you like the language of flowers - this is the work for you. A beautiful and interesting approach to this trope.
Running to Stand Still by Kiyoko_Michi Aizawa-centric, Non-Sexual De-Aging of Character, Secret Identity | 42,604 words
foh’s comment: Aizawa gets hit with age-regression quirk that causes him to forget almost fifteen years of his past. He’s struggling to find out what is going on. When I started this rec list I marked this work as ‘very close to canon, could’ve been a part of it even’. I meant that it’s very well written, go read.
Cat-sualty by LowlyWriter Animal Transformation, Married Erasermic | 12,360 words
foh’s comment: Catzawa! You can't miss the well-written story of Shouta Aizawa's transformation into a cat.
Authors Who Made Erasermic Special For Thousands People
deafmic
foh’s comment: In my opinion, deafmic is the foundation-stone of Erasermic fanfiction. If you just start with Erasermic, please go check deafmic’s works. I cannot pick one of them, they are all good, interesting, driving, experimental – everything!
Say_Jay
foh’s comment: Jay is a legend who has written many narrative, action and experimental works. Works to read and reread forever.
YamiHeart
foh’s comment: Yami has created many great and interesting aus and in-canonverse stories that any of us, Erasermic fans, love and deeply care about. You will never get bored with the imagination of this author!
KuriKuri
foh’s comment: KuriKuri is another legendary author who you can get a ton of No Qurks!AU from. All of this author's stories are rated very highly and each one definitely deserves it.
That is all for now. Thank you for checking out my recomendation list. All of these authors are sunshines and great peope who put their souls and hearts into this fandom. After reading these stories, please give them kudos and write your comments. My List will be continued with Aizawa & Shinsou father-son, Erasermic Family recomendation list soon!

characters who lash out violently and disastrously against help are beautiful and amazing. my only issue is that none of it is enough for me.
Jason Todd fanfiction shouldnt just be “i hurt people and they’re scared of me”.. It should be Dick Grayson trying to connect with Jason, and Bruce trying to connect with Jason, and him ramping up killings to keep them away from him.
if you’re writing a angsty Midoriya Izuku fic where you make him a neglected and ignored child, and then have him happily slot into the Aizawa/Yamada family, i don’t care for that. if you have a vigilante Midoriya and he easily and joyfully gives up his vigilante persona when admitted into UA, I disagree. Make him bite and claw for freedom. push them all away over and over and over until theres someone who cannot be moved, still waiting for him to relent.
and i do know, obviously, that canon Harry Potter folds like a wet paper towel to authority, but who cares about canon when you’re writing fanfic. Make him scramble against Dumbledore, even if you’re writing good!Dumbledore or misguided!Dumbledore. make him suspicious of Sirius and Remus. Make him viciously protective of his friends. if he’s free with crucios in book 7, then make that an arc!!! make him self isolate during the tournament and bite the hand of anyone because it seems like everyone is trying to commercialize his being. after book5, make Harry be incredibly rude and violent towards anyone who bullied him in OtP and now wants to be his friend again.
sick and tired of healthy and forgiving characters. be better.

Erasermic family general hcs:
- when shinsou has bad dreams or intrusive memories of his time in the system it’s hizashi he goes to, not shouta, because even though hizashi was only in the system a short while he understands what Hitoshi went through and how it feels to be abandoned and not know what to do with all the emotions that comes with it.
- eri used to be terrified on present mic. Not of Yamada hizashi, the sweet guy who signs as he talks and makes her chamomile tea when she can’t sleep, but of present mic who looks like a huge flightless bird and squaks weird slang all the time. The fear was fixed when she saw hizashi undergoing the transformation process one day.
- hizashi and shinsou have developed their own ‘sign slang’. As the ones who’ve used it most throughout their lives and with someone new to try it out with they started making their own signs for internet catch phrases and swear words and it pisses Aizawa off so much that he’s left out of the loop. This, in turn, only further encourages shinsou and hizashi to the point where half the time they’re not even making sense to each other but just gesturing randomly whenever shoutas around to piss him off.
- I’m pretty sure it’s canon that hizashi has, like, no nostrils (or maybe really really small ones) on account of his quirk as stoping airflow through your nose means you can make louder vocalisations, so, although everyone thinks mic would be the only one who can cook between him and Aizawa, the two of the basically function as two halves of the same idiot in the kitchen. Since your sense of smell makes up about 70% of your taste buds, despite hizashi enjoying cooking and be able to follow a recipe, without shouta there to taste test, hizashi’s cooking becomes absolutely repulsive and he has no idea. Shouta on the other hand, is perfectly capable of cooking but just refuses to learn because he thinks the system they have worked out now is perfectly functional.
- the first time hizashi is left to cook for Hitoshi alone during one of his early visits, he suffers such a culinary disaster since shouta wasn’t there to supervise. Mic makes sure to tell Hitoshi to tell him if it’s nice or not but the kid is far too polite for that and struggles through 2/3 of the meal that is somehow both sour and salty while also being so fucking spicy that Hitoshi thinks his ears are bleeding before Aizawa comes home and picks something off hizashis plate and immediately tells mic it’s the most disgusting thing he’s ever made and throwing out the entire meal. Hitoshi is absolutely flabbergasted, tears streaming, nose running, throat retching, as yamada and Aizawa both ask him why the fuck he didn’t say something.
- mic likes pretty much every type of music and has sampled practically every genre ever made and since eri has never had the chance to develop her own taste, he takes her on the axact same journey of self discovery. Eri ends up very similar to mic in that she likes a lot of different things but her absolute favourite genre ends up being ‘kawaii metal’ which mic and Hitoshi both find hilarious and let her play it all the time which Aizawa (who only ever listens to brown noise) absolutely fucking hates.
- Aizawa can’t drive. Like at all. He never learnt, never even took any lessons, never had any interest in it. Mic is older than him by a few months and got his lisence super quick and after that Aizawa decided he would never need to learn because he would always have hizashi to chauffeur him around.
- mic doesn’t get angry much so everyone thinks shouta is the scary one but the more you get to know Aizawa the more of a softy he becomes. Mic, on the other hand, is fucking terrifying when you piss him off. Hitoshi and eri have only ever seen it once when some bitch from Hitoshi’s old home ran into them and got mouthy. He’s the quiet anger type that just just radiates insane unpresidented rage and Aizawa finds it incredibly sexy.
- eri is the kind of kid who collects bugs from the garden and spends hours watching them crawl over her hands in absolute amazement because she’s never seen so many of them before. As we all know, mic is terrified of bugs, but eri did not know this until she invited all her little creepy crawly friends into the house for move night. Cue them all cuddled up on the couch one day when mic feels something crawling over his legs. At first he thinks it’s Aizawa as his legs draped over his lap and tells him to cut it out and Aizawa is like ‘huh?’, looks down, and sees the fattest, juiciest cockroach ever on yamadas leg. Aizawa, who also doesn’t really like bugs all that much, is like “zashi, do not fucking move” and eri catches on, turns around and is like “oh! Patrick is here” which makes mic finally notice and release the most deafening scream ever and jumps five ft into the air which knocks a sleeping Hitoshi to the floor who wakes up face to face with a massive fucking spider and joins yamada in the screaming match while Aizawa is using his quirk on mic so none of them go deaf while climbing the furniture to avoid all the bugs and screaming for everyone to calm down in an uncharacteristically high voice while eri just sits on the floor amongst the chaos like “I just wanted you guys to meet my friends”. The house gets fumigated after that.

I'm Home (Erasermic one-shot, fluff, SFW)
Hizashi wakes to the feeling of an arm wrapping around his middle, a warm body pressing at his back. He's not alarmed, his hand coming to rest atop the hand splayed out over his diaphragm, his thumb running over the familiar scars he finds there.
"Hey, Shou..." he mutters sleepily, barely able to form coherent thoughts in his half-awake state. The arm around him tightens.
"Did I wake you up?" Shouta's voice is a low rumble right beside Hizashi's ear, familiar and comforting. He sounds about as sleepy as Hizashi is.
"Yeah, but I don't mind..." Hizashi turns his head slightly. He can just make out Shouta's face hovering over him in the dark of the bedroom.
Shouta still smells like his patrol. Sweat and dirt, mixed with smog and old cooking oil. His patrol must have taken him through the busy downtown area where the street food vendors operate late into the night.
He doesn't smell good. It seems he hasn't taken the time to shower before dropping into bed and wrapping himself around Hizashi. He's probably too tired, if the way his weight sags against Hizashi is any indicator. Hizashi isn't too bothered, it's not the first time Shouta's dropped into bed without a shower, it won't be his last. Hizashi's just thankful that, at least tonight, Shouta is absent of the scent of blood, his own or another's.
He's thankful that Shouta made it home at all.
Shouta lets out a soft hum, leaning forward and catching the side of Hizashi's mouth with a kiss, his stubble scratching against the side of Hizashi's face. It's the best he can do from the odd angle. "Missed you," he says, the fatigue and the fondness in his voice melting Hizashi's heart.
"Missed you, too," Hizashi grins, turning in Shouta's arms so that they're facing each other. He pushes his fingers into Shouta's hair, the dark strands messy and sweaty. Shouta's a mess, honestly, but as his hold tightens around Hizashi's waist, Hizashi's sure he's never seen a man so beautiful.
They share a fond, tired kiss in the dark and then they close their eyes and drift off to sleep.

How do you think The Teachers would react to a student, whose quirk drawback is that they're slowly shortening their lifespan every time they use it (technically dying lol), but they never told anyone about it? not even their parents? Anyhow- Ignore this if u aren't comfy w/ it <:
A/n: omg this is such a good idea :’) tell me if you guys want a part 2 with more teachers or just other characters :))
Genres: comfort
Synopsis: When a student is slowly dying due to usage of their quirk, how will UA Teachers react?
Characters: Aizawa Shota (Eraser Head) | Yagi Toshinori (All Might) | Yamada Hizashi (Present Mic)
You’ve wanted to be a Pro-Hero ever since you were little!
It’s always been your dream and it’s what drives you to do well in class and stuff :))
Your quirk allows you to enhance others’ quirks for certain periods of time
If you touch someone with your hands, you can strengthen them and make their quirk stronger as well
It lasts until you shut it off
However, the more you use it, the shorter your lifespan
You can feel everytime your lifespan shortens and it’s agonizingly painful
You don’t know how much is taken off of your life every time you use it
“Todoroki-san! Come here!” you called to your classmate. Class 1-A was in the middle of even more survival training. It was similar to the survival training that they had completed before, however they were separated into even smaller groups in an ever more dangerous setting. You had been put into a group with Todoroki, Sero, and Tsuyu.
You had already gotten to the mannequin your group was supposed to be saving, but there was a fire closing in on you. Your only hope was Todoroki, but he was worn down and the ring of fire that surrounded you was impossibly large. The smoke in the air was burning your lungs, causing you and your group to cough and wheeze.
You grabbed Todoroki’s shoulder in a hurry, lungs yearning to escape from this cage of flames. “Y/n-san, no!”
Despite your classmate’s warning, you immediately activated your quirk, channeling all the energy you could into the boy. Suddenly, a familiar pain boiled in your chest, causing your whole body to ache and writhe in pain. You screamed out, holding on tight to Todoroki, knowing that you’d collapse without the support.
“Todoroki-san!” you practically begged your classmate, starting to feel lightheaded from the searing pain. You felt the temperature drop, crisp air biting your nose and fingers.
Your vision started to blur as your shuddered, letting go of Todoroki’s shoulders and dropping to your knees. “Y/n!”
₊ ⊹ Aizawa would be very concerned after you passed out (he cares sm about his students ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝), thinking that you were overworking yourself and just needed to rest. He approached you to talk about it and he noticed you acting kind of weird. You thought he had already caught on and was going to confront you about removing you from the hero course; but, he actually didn’t know until he noticed you acting weird. He’d ask you if anything’s wrong and then you’d like burst out and say something super concerning (which this is concerning but like-) like “I’M DYING AIZAWA-SENSEI .·°՞(≧□≦)՞°·.!! ” And he’d be so stunned like “W-what-?” He’d ask you a couple questions but then he’d realize that he needed to calm you down first. After coming to this realization, he’d put a reassuring hand on your shoulder. Then you guys would have a long conversation over some tea <3
₊ ⊹ All-Might would also think you’re just overexerting yourself when you pass out. He would come to see you in the nurse’s office (because you’re one of his favorite students ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ!!) He wouldn’t really notice anything else wrong with you, so he’d tell you something like “just rest up and you’ll be back in no time, young y/n 👍” but then you end up feeling guilty so you confess to him that your quirk is killing you. He’d be so shocked and he’d feel so bad for you because you want to become a hero so, so bad but you can’t if your quirk is killing you. He sees himself and Midoriya in you because you all wanted to become heroes and were basically all hopeless. However, he feels very guilty because he can’t help you like he did with Midoriya. He ends up just listening to you talk until he’s told he has to leave so you can sleep.
₊ ⊹ As Present Mic’s favorite student, of course he had to pay you a very long and loud visit in the nurse’s office. You’re thinking about telling him about your quirk, so you’re not really listening to everything he’s saying. Meanwhile, he’s too busy talking to notice at first, but when he realizes you aren’t laughing at his puns like usual, he’ll be like “What’s wrong, favorite student??” You’d tell him and start crying because you feel so frustrated and crushed. Then he’d be like “Hey, it’s okay. Look at me. You will always be my absolute favorite student!” to which you can’t help but laugh. He’d just spend the rest of his visit trying to make you laugh and feel better and he leaves all of the hard stuff (like removing you from the hero course and shit) to Aizawa ( • ̀ω•́ )✧
A/n: sorry that’s all! ALSO, I’M SO SO SO SO SORRY THIS TOOK THAT LONG OML IM S O S O R R Y!! Anyways if you guys want this with more characters go ahead and request away :) I don’t have any requests rn so I’m just going to focus on other WIPs I have 👍 (TY FOR YOUR PATIENCE)
have a nice day cutie <33

So the thing is with Shinsou and his place in the ErasMic family he is so middle child coded to me. Like he just has so much middle child energy it’s insane.
Like my two most favorite ErasMic fics; Wards of AU by FeckedSpectrum (one of the all time pieces of literature I have read truly) and A Heart Grows Fonder by Laroyena both have Shinsou playing the youger sibling to Mirio and Shigaraki respectively and that’s when it clicked for me. It just felt so natural so easy for him to slip into this middle child role.
And it’s because he has all the bitchy confrontational energy of a younger sibling but with enough of the care and consideration of an Older sibling and so putting him against this older figure he doesn’t have to be as soft with as he is with Eri and he can really develop other aspects of his personality is so natural. H is such a bitchy constantly rolling their eyes sarcastic little brother I love it so much.
And this isn’t me saying I have anything against the Eri Shinsou dynamic ofcourse not I love them as siblings but I don’t know the dynamic just feels powered up when Shinsou’s a middle child there’s a more grown child figure kind of buffering a lot of Shinsou’s more abrasive tendencies so we still get to see that familial bitchy banter. A Heart Grows Fond described it perfectly with his relationship with Shigaraki. Shinsou gets a support system but he also gets someone he can practice his responsibility on without the fear that he might fuck it all up irredeemably because Eri is 6 and can’t pick herself up the way a 21 year old Shigaraki can of Shinsou miscalculates (it was explained so much better) but yeah that’s like the crux of it.
An older siblings is a much less pressured relationship that Shinsou really needs and god I just fucking love it. Middle child Shinsou you will always be famous to me.
#but like it’s only in the specific context of the Erasermic family tho#in every other situation Shinsou is an only child never before had a boy been so only child coded#also I recommend everyone read Wards immediately a truly astounding well thought out and executed piece of media#I like simply can’t comprehend how much it changed my life#or like how much it leveled up the already high level of respect I have for the written word#like just what they did with writing devices the symbolism this could only be delievered as prose#I didn’t know how much I needed Shigaraki & Shinsou interactions and Shinsou and Mirio interactions until I read this fic#honestly I just think Shinsou needs to interact more with older “kid characters#mha fanfiction#mha fanfic#erasermic#hitoshi shinsou#ao3 shinsou#mha#erasermic family#erasermic fanfic#erasermic family fanfic#aizawa shouta#yamada hizashi#eri mha#shigaraki tomura#mirio togata#mha shinsou#bnha shinsou#bnha#my hero academia#my hero acedamia#boku no hero academia#my hero meta#throwing thoughts to the void

For Tenko
SUMMARY After years of waiting and training in hidden nooks when you could, it was finally time to take the UA entrance exam.
CONTENT WARNINGS death, depictions of homeless children, mentions of abuse, loss, and grief. For the sake of the series (and my conscience), all characters are aged up while still following the plot of MHA. In other words, think of UA as a college rather than a high school.
AUTHORS NOTE this story has me in a chokehold, I can not be stopped. Here's chapter one, enjoy!!
SERIES MASTERLIST
It's been years since you lost your best friend to the collapse. Since that devastating night, you had forged your own path, wandering aimlessly through Japan. You slept on any available surface you could find, whether it was a park bench, an abandoned building, or a quiet corner of the street. Comfort was a luxury you could not afford, but through all the hardships, you kept your vow.
Not long after losing Tenko, your quirk manifested. Perhaps it was the universe trying to solidify your destiny, or maybe it was triggered by the intense stress and grief of the situation. The emergence of your quirk marked a turning point in your life, a sign that you were meant for something greater.
Dissonance—that’s what it had been coined. Your quirk allowed you to sing at any pitch and frequency, interrupting people's actions and even disturbing their thoughts when you were super concentrated. It was an impressive and versatile power, but it came with its own set of challenges. Overusing it could damage your vocal cords, and you quickly learned that you had to wear ear protection to prevent damaging your eardrums.
Your quirk was similar to Present Mic’s, but with a unique twist. Rather than projecting your natural voice to send strong radio waves, you changed pitch and frequency to gain control over your victims. This ability to manipulate sound and influence others made you a formidable force, capable of turning the tide in any confrontation. It was a pretty badass ability, and you felt fortunate to have it.
Your first encounter with your quirk was a mix of awe and fear. You remember the exact moment it manifested, the sensation of power coursing through your vocal cords, and the realization that you could control others with your voice. It was both thrilling and terrifying, knowing that such power resided within you.
Training with Dissonance was no easy feat. You spent countless hours practicing, learning to modulate your voice and control the effects of your quirk. You experimented with different pitches and frequencies, discovering the limits of your abilities and the toll it took on your body. Each session left your voice strained and your ears ringing, but you persisted, driven by the vow you made that fateful night.
Over time, you became adept at using Dissonance. You mastered the art of subtle manipulation, using your voice to calm crowds, disrupt enemies, and even plant suggestions in the minds of those around you. Your quirk became an extension of yourself, a tool to fulfill your mission of becoming a hero. Yet, you always remained cautious, aware of the potential harm to your vocal cords and ears.
The ear protection you wore became a signature part of your appearance, a constant reminder of the price you paid for your power. Despite the challenges, you embraced Dissonance, knowing that it gave you the means to protect others and honor the memory of Tenko. Your journey was far from over, but with each passing day, you grew stronger and more confident in your ability to make a difference.
All that suffering and pain, all those nights spent thinking it might be your last, it all led up to this moment—standing outside the gates of UA, the number one academy known for producing the best pro heroes. One of your idols, Endeavor, had even graduated from here.
Standing there felt like a dream, something you might wake up from only to realize that the rats you had tried to befriend in the alley you were staying in had stolen your last piece of food. But no, you were here. You had made it, for Tenko.
The gates of UA were grand, with large, blue overlapping letters proclaiming the academy's name. The grass inside the gates was lush and healthy, a green so vibrant and bright that it almost hurt to look at. Students chattered loudly, some shoving through the crowds in a desperate attempt to be on time to their classes, as they made their way up and down the wide stone path leading toward the tinted glass doors that matched the color of the sign at the entrance.
If you weren’t used to slinking through streets at this point, you might have found the overwhelming sounds suffocating. The birds chirping in the large trees and the boisterous laughter of students passing by could have been too much. However, you found great peace in the sounds, grounding yourself appropriately and maybe even taking a secret moment to bask in it all as you made your way to the lecture hall where you would be performing your entrance exam in hopes of getting admitted into the prestigious hero course.
You took a deep breath, letting the crisp air fill your lungs. Every step you took felt like a step closer to fulfilling the vow you made years ago. The journey had been arduous, but the promise to yourself and to Tenko kept you moving forward. This was your chance to prove yourself, to show the world that the child who once shivered on a park bench could become a hero.
The entrance hall was buzzing with activity, and you could see the determination on the faces of other prospective students. They, too, had their own stories, their own dreams of becoming heroes. Yet, in that moment, all you could think about was Tenko and the promise you made to him.
The lecture hall was just as grand as the entrance, with rows and rows of curved tables where hundreds of people were piling in. Making your way up the stairs, you found a dark, secluded corner toward the top of the seating to set your ratty backpack filled with all that you owned. Two cans of tomato soup, a tiny battery-operated flashlight that was on its last leg, and a ripped raincoat. You had managed to wash quickly in a public pool shower before coming, so at least you weren’t donning your usual dirt streaks and dumpster smell. You even got lucky by running into an old woman on the street who had seen your tattered attire and dragged you to a nearby store to buy you a pair of leggings and a tie-dye t-shirt that was a bit too small and hugged your chest uncomfortably.
As you settled into your seat, you took a moment to observe the room. No one noticed or even tried to talk to you as they all took their seats and settled down. The air was thick with anticipation and nerves, a collective energy that buzzed through the hall. The walls were adorned with banners and posters, showcasing past graduates and famous heroes who had once sat where you were now.
Before you knew it, Present Mic himself was enthusiastically explaining the rules and point system of the entrance exam, using his quirk to amplify his already loud voice so the people in the far back could hear him. His voice boomed through the hall, energetic and powerful, capturing everyone’s attention. You couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement; this was real, and you were here, ready to take the first step toward your dream.
You felt bad for the group sitting in the front row, trying to hide their winces from the volume. Present Mic’s enthusiasm was infectious, though, and despite the discomfort, everyone listened intently. He explained the different components of the exam, the scoring system, and what would be expected of you. The stakes were high, but you had faced worse odds before.
After Present Mic had explained everything and answered a stuck-up kid’s question, we were off, being led toward a huge mock-up city where we would be battling “villain” robots and earning points.
Waiting was probably the worst part of the whole ordeal, standing outside the large metal walls outlining the city while teachers and other workers raced around setting up. During that time, people huddled in groups and mingled while you stayed toward the edge of it all, silently observing and hoping no one acknowledged your existence. Unfortunately, your hopes did not come to fruition as an energetic girl with fluffy pink hair bounced over to you, talking up a storm about her thoughts and feelings about the upcoming challenge of admission. She revealed her quirk, something to do with summoning and shooting acid out of her hands. It was totally badass and warmed you up to the idea of being her friend if you both made it past the entrance exams.
As the countdown started, Mina, the girl who had started talking to you, slinked away to get a fair chance at points. You readied yourself, nestling your foam earplugs into your ears and getting into position.
The atmosphere was electric with anticipation. The other students were all focused, their faces a mix of determination and anxiety. You took a deep breath, feeling your heart pound in your chest. This was it, the moment you had been preparing for.
Chaos erupted as everyone bolted through the doors, those toward the front effortlessly taking out the robots placed near the entrance. You quickly squeezed through the crowd and took off toward the left, following the barrier around the city and taking out several robots with simple hand-to-hand combat and some strategically placed wires. Toward the end of the timer, you had accumulated a comfortable score by just using your ordinary strength and discipline. Just as you were about to sweep your corner once more, you saw a huge three-pointer rolling your way with a gun full of blanks aimed at you.
Taking a breath, you narrowed your eyes and activated your quirk, singing the simple harmony of the birds you had encountered on the way toward the lecture hall at a much higher, earsplitting pitch. The robot immediately began to spark and convulse. However, you were caught up worrying whether you had hurt someone in the nearby area. By the time the robot was falling, it was too late. You had underestimated its size and got lost in your thoughts, and now you were about to be crushed. Unable to do anything, you squeezed your eyes shut tightly, bracing for an impact that never came.
Slowly, hesitantly, you opened your eyes to find a pair of bright red ones staring back at you. His hair was red and styled into sharp spikes, his teeth also sharp as he smiled at you, the robot tossed to the side.
“Are you alright?” he asked, his eyes twinkling with worry as he walked over to check you for injuries. His voice was gentle, yet filled with concern, a stark contrast to the chaos surrounding you.
“I’m fine,” you responded quickly, dusting yourself off with a deep breath, trying and failing to calm your racing heart. You could still feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins, making your hands shake slightly.
“That was a close one,” he chuckled, his laughter warm and reassuring. “I’m Kirishima, Eijiro Kirishima,” he said, holding out his hand with a friendly smile. His red hair gleamed under the natural light, and his eyes shone with an infectious energy.
“It’s nice to meet you, Kirishima,” you nodded, providing your own name as you shook his hand firmly. His grip was strong, his skin surprisingly rough, probably a result of his quirk. “How did you do that?”
“Oh, my quirk is hardening. I can make my body impenetrable,” Kirishima responded easily, his smile never wavering. He seemed so at ease, as if saving someone from a falling robot was an everyday occurrence. “What about you? I didn’t see what happened until it was about to fall on you.”
“Dissonance. Think Present Mic, but instead of projection, I can influence actions and thoughts with song,” you explained, taking a quick look around for any more targets before time ran out. The cityscape was littered with the remnants of destroyed robots, and a few students were still battling fiercely in the distance.
“That’s totally cool!” Kirishima gushed, his eyes widening with genuine admiration. “I hope we both make it. I’d love to get to know more about you and your quirk.”
“Thank you,” you blushed, scratching the back of your neck awkwardly. His presence was surprisingly calming, a stark contrast to the intensity of the exam. “I hope you make it too,” you added, remembering your manners. His enthusiasm was contagious, and you couldn’t help but smile.
With that, Kirishima left with a salute and a sharp smile, taking off up the mouth of the alleyway he must have come from. You watched him for a moment, appreciating his confidence and the way he carried himself. Then, snapping back to reality, you ran in the opposite direction, hoping to find any small point stragglers before time was out.
The city was a maze of debris and broken robots. Your eyes scanned the area, and you spotted a couple of small robots hiding behind a crumbling wall. With swift movements, you dispatched them, your quirk making short work of their circuits. Each note you sang was precise, each pitch carefully controlled to disrupt their systems without causing collateral damage.
The final buzzer sounded just as you took down the last robot, signaling the end of the exam. You stood there for a moment, catching your breath, and looking around at the other students. Some were panting heavily, while others were still in fighting stances, the adrenaline not yet wearing off.
You made your way back to the entrance, your heart still racing but now with a mix of relief and excitement. The memory of Tenko and the promise you made to him had driven you forward, and now you stood, panting and victorious, ready to see if you had done enough to secure your place at UA. The future was uncertain, but for the first time in a long while, you felt a glimmer of hope.
It had been a few weeks since the UA entrance exam, and the weight of disappointment hung heavy as you wandered through the alleys, your thoughts consumed with how to scrape together enough money for a train ticket back to your usual haunts. You were on the verge of slipping down a street known for its desperate need for dog walkers when you were abruptly halted by a man in dark attire and a stiff, grey scarf.
"You're the girl from the entrance exam, right? The one with the voice?" His voice carried a weary undertone, and his demeanor seemed both exhausted and disinterested, a stark contrast to the chaos of the city around you. It was his tired gaze that triggered recognition—this was Eraserhead, the hero known for his ability to nullify quirks with a single glance.
"Uh, yeah, but I thought I didn’t make it when you guys didn’t contact me," you replied, your voice cracking slightly from dehydration. Water was scarce, and you hadn’t found more than dirty puddles to sip from along the way.
"You didn’t leave us with any contact information," he huffed, as though your lack of foresight was a personal inconvenience. Your cheeks flushed with embarrassment as you realized the gravity of your oversight.
"Right," you stammered, "I’m sorry about that. It must have slipped my mind," you chuckled nervously, feeling like a ragged street urchin in your tattered raincoat and dirt-streaked leggings. The situation couldn’t get much more humiliating.
"Anyways," he sighed, as if eager to move past your blunder, "I’m here to tell you that you ranked second with sixty-eight points."
"Wow," you breathed, a mixture of relief and disbelief washing over you. You pressed a trembling hand against your chest, half expecting it to still the rapid beats of your heart. "Who was the next closest?"
"Third place earned thirty-nine points," he stated matter-of-factly, his expression betraying little emotion. It was clear he wasn’t one for unnecessary conversation.
"Thank you for tracking me down. I’m really sorry again. I didn’t think about how you’d be able to contact me—"
"Answer something for me, would you, kid?" Eraserhead interjected, running a hand through his unruly hair, which promptly fell back into place. His eyes bore into yours with a mix of scrutiny and weariness.
"Sure," you replied, adjusting the straps on your worn backpack, suddenly feeling acutely aware of your disheveled appearance.
"Are you living out here?" he inquired, gesturing vaguely to the bustling cityscape around you. Cars honked in the distance, and pedestrians hurried past, oblivious to your exchange. Shame washed over you, threatening to spill over into tears. You blinked them away hastily—crying was a luxury you couldn’t afford, not since Tenko’s death.
"Um, yeah," you admitted reluctantly, your voice barely above a whisper. It was humiliating to acknowledge your transient existence, especially to a hero like Eraserhead.
Apparently satisfied with your response, Eraserhead flagged down a passing taxi and motioned for you to get in. The sudden gesture left you dumbfounded.
"What?" you blurted, stunned by the unexpected turn of events.
"I can’t have one of my students sleeping in alleyways. Get in," he instructed firmly, his red eyes flashing with an unspoken threat that sent a shiver down your spine. Without further protest, you stumbled into the backseat of the taxi, feeling more bewildered than ever.
The ride to UA was filled with uncomfortable silence, broken only by the hum of the engine and the occasional honk of impatient drivers. As the city rushed past, you began to process everything—your unexpected second-place ranking, the realization that you had surpassed the competition without fully utilizing your quirk, and the daunting prospect of attending UA, a prestigious institution for aspiring heroes.
By the time the taxi pulled up to the entrance of UA, you were a whirlwind of emotions—hope, determination, and a renewed sense of purpose. This opportunity was more than just a chance to fulfill your dream; it was a promise to Tenko, a vow to become the hero he believed you could be.
Stepping out of the taxi, you straightened your posture, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. For Tenko, for yourself, you were prepared to seize this chance and become the hero you were destined to be.

Erasermic + Shinsou — Something Akin to Peace
Summary:
After having an anxious day, Hitoshi succumbs to a panic attack in the midst of preparing a bath for himself. Lucky for him, he has two of the best dads he could ever hope for.
word count: 2k
ao3: link
Hitoshi wouldn’t consider himself a germaphobe on any normal day, but when his bad nerves start to flare up in a sudden attack like this, an overwhelming sense of discomfort and germophobia are a common symptom he often can't avoid. Strange of all, it affects his perception of things that would never usually bother him, and the more triggers that are thrown at him, the more and more intense his physical reactions can become.
Upon doing his own research, warm baths are said to help ease tension and anxiety. Shinsou prefers a quick shower compared to a hot, soapy bath, but on days like today when his nerves are especially rattling him, he’s willing to try anything to find some semblance of peace within himself.
Hitoshi doesn’t announce that he’s going to run himself a bath, nor does he ask his parents like he usually does before taking a shower; just the polite ask if either of them needed to get in before he occupied it for the next fifteen minutes or more.
Unfortunately, though, the bathroom is down the hall and in direct line of sight to the living room where Aizawa and Hizashi usually sat, lights dim as they watched the evening news over tea or coffee depending on whether they have a long night ahead of them. Hizashi is quite the air-head by no means of insult; it’s just that his demeanor is always so floaty and energetic that he rarely ever tends to pick up on much unless it’s spelled out directly in front of his face.
His companion, on the other hand, is nothing if not a direct contrast, which is why Shinsou finds himself locking eyes with Aizawa in momentary pause as his hand remained pressed against the light-switch that just illuminated his presence.
Shouta always had this… stare, as if he wasn’t looking at Hitoshi, but straight through him. Shinsou has seen that look on his face a great number of times - this unreadable, nonchalant expression yet with the most piercing, serious, laser-beam eyes - but for some reason, there was always the slightest difference in it when aimed towards Hitoshi specifically, which unfortunately happens more often than not. Perhaps it’s because he knows him well enough by now to realize that Shinsou is the type to keep things to himself or even lie just so he could burden his issues on his own, and as time continues to go by living in this family unit with them, the swifter Aizawa is at catching on when something was off.
No matter what Shouta thinks or doesn’t think, however, that didn’t make Shinsou any more willing to come running to him and spilling his guts, especially when he was overreacting over such pathetic little things or merely overcome by these bad feelings for no reason at all. It was stupid, it was weak, and it was Hitoshi’s burden to bear alone, it always has been.
He downcasts his eyes, flicks on the shower fan, and steps inside the bathroom, closing the door behind him. When he opened the cabinet door, Shinsou sighs through his nose when he saw there were no clean towels. They were probably thrown haphazardly into a laundry basket on his parents’ bedroom floor to be folded and put away later this evening, and while it would only be quick and easy to go out and fetch one before he got into the tub, his skin crawled at the thought of passing Aizawa again, feeling that suspicious gaze burning into the back of his head.
Hitoshi sucks a deep breath in, murmuring an, “Okay,” under his breath as if to calm himself down and reassure his own mind and body that they would make do. There were still some other towels poked away in the back, and while they are smaller than what Hitoshi would normally use to dry off with, they would have to make do for the night; a little towel is better than no towel, right?
And then came the part that Shinsou dreaded the most of all, the part that made him cringe at the thought of taking baths: having to try and rinse and wash out the tub of any stray hairs or dirt. Normally, he would ask Aizawa to do this part for him whenever he did announce that he was getting a bath or shower, and that tended to keep his cool; he trusted Aizawa’s judgment and sense of cleaning far more than his own inexperience, plus he always looked like he knew what he was doing. Hitoshi wasn’t even sure if he knew how to do it right, as he got down on his knees in front of the tub with a random hand towel in hand.
He flicked on the shower head and scrubbed at the base of the tub with as much vigor as he could manage, and yet the most noticeable little pecks of dirt, dust- something, wouldn’t dare scrub off and it only made him grit his teeth in further frustration. The hairs he tried to catch in the cloth kept losing its grip and clinging back onto the smooth surface of the tub, there were still places he couldn’t make clean enough to his liking, and of fucking course he didn’t have a strong enough grip in his nails to pull the suction cups attached to the bottom of the bathmat up so he could wash underneath there too like Aizawa always did. He just couldn’t fucking handle this after the horrible day he’s had already.
So Hitoshi does what he does best, right? He gives up. He turns the shower head off so the tap can run properly and goes searching for a bath stopper from the cupboard underneath the sink so the water could start to fill up. He kept playing with the temperature scale, not liking his bathwater too hot or too lukewarm, but once he deemed it good enough, he pressed it in and patiently waited for the water to fill up.
Of course, though it’s never happened before for whatever reason, Shinsou’s clothes managed to get wet from the spray-back of the shower head, which made him feel uncomfortable as hell, as if someone had spilled their drink all over him. There were only a couple of wet patches; the back of his right shoulder and a couple of pecks at his lower back, but what was worst of all was the wet patch that managed to form at the front of his head, making his already greasy hair feel that much more fucking awful.
So with the on slot of such sudden feelings of intensifying discomfort, Shinsou strips off every thread of clothes until he was left in only his socks, the part of any outfit he always preferred to take off last for some reason. He sits on the floor besides the tub and waits for it to fill, loving the slow, patient course compared to the rush of a shower. At least here in the bathroom, the door was locked and no one could disturb him, nor did they expect anything of him or even tried talking to him unless it was something urgent. In here, alone and in the silence entirely by himself, he could let his guard down and just exist for a few extra minutes, not having to brave a mask of indifference to the whirlwind of pain and feeling clenching in his chest.
These days, for some reason, the rare bath he takes seemed to fill all the more faster than he remembered. He hated that. He tried to procrastinate getting in right away by making the excuse that the hot water would need some time to cool down, but even that felt far too gone. Hitoshi doesn’t even like getting in the bath, he quite disliked it, but it was loneliness and silence for an extended pass of time, and that was too precious to just pass up for such stupid reasons that made no sense to begin with.
He placed one foot in first, testing the temperature and deeming if it was safe to sink in yet or not. It felt really hot on his feet when both made contact with the soapy water, but as he gave in and slowly lowered himself into the bath, the heat felt especially mediocre to the rest of his body. Which could only mean one thing, really…
He wasted too much time. The water had already gone lukewarm, and now so as not to waste so much water, Hitoshiwould have to just sit here and deal with it.
By this point, Shinsou’s anxieties had forgone the point of frustration to the extreme of downright sad, cursing every flaw and fault this day dealt him as if he somehow deserved it. He knew it was stupid and pathetic to ‘cry over spiltmilk,’ so they called it, but when you’re consecutively hit by punch after punch after punch of little mishappenings, it hurts so much fucking worse than having to brave out what is considered actual bad news.
Things started to take a turn for the worse from there, spiraling so far out of Hitoshi’s control that he couldn’t suck in the panic for any longer. The bath water felt so fucking dirty, even though he knows his parents keep this place clean and tidy on a regular basis, but like sitting in a cup of tea too cold to drink was suffocating his entire mind and body. The bath stopper also made this ungodly noise, and while Hitoshi twisted and turned it, inspecting it with his eyes and nails alone, the condition looked perfectly fine so why was the bath water already lowered to the point of his ribs and already making this monstrous growling noise like something he pulled straight up from hell.
That was when his breath began to quicken, quicken, quicken to the point that, despite having sat in the tub for a meager two minutes at the most, he felt he needed to get out. Even his body felt so dirty, legs and thighs stained by suds that the water he splashed refused to wash off without just adding more.
In, out, in, out, in, out, Hitoshi struggled like a bitch as he placed one foot after the other upon emerging from the tub. The bath mat felt soggy beneath his feet and everything felt so fucking gross, even his own skin as he scrubbed the flesh as hard as he could muster with the little towel he left out for himself. He had the overwhelming urge to scratch at his own skin until he tore every inch of flesh off from his body, because every single inch of him felt like it was beyond the hope of cleansing and he had no clue why . It was the germaphobia, the germaphobia that didn’t exist until Shinsoufell into a frantic state and no longer felt comfortable in his own body.
He dried himself off with more vigor than he normally would use, and yet he still didn’t feel dry enough when he forced himself into the fresh change of clothes he left on the counter. Hitoshi had the tendency to get ansty on a normal day over the weird and uncomfortable feeling like he could never dry his crotch off enough to not feel soaking wet in his underwear and pants, even though the skin felt dry to the touch. He kept tugging and pulling at his sweats as if that could help, and the tag of his sleep shirt was rubbing and scratching at the back of his neck so fucking bad-
“Hitoshi!” There’s a light knocking on the door, a gentle action that contrasted the concern and urgency in his dad’s voice. “What’s going on?! Are you okay in there?!”
Shinsou isn’t sure when he ended up sliding down onto the floor, arms hugging his knees as he curled into himself, but he must of cried out or screeched something for Aizawa to appear so suddenly. The floor felt so fucking disgusting, why would he sit on it, it just made everything feel a million times more worse, he’s getting his clothes dirty and it’s going to smell like that imaginary stench that he breathed into his lungs.
His chest still felt so sweat, the fabric of his shirt was practically sticking to him. Shinsou had to squeeze his hands into the tightest balls of fists so the sting and pressure of his nails gauging into his palms could alleviate all of these pent up emotions that were forcing themselves out of his body in one form or another.
“I don’t know, I don’t know, it just came over me!” Shinsou’s voice is a broken sob called from his own side of the door, pressing his nose and mouth to his knees as he rocked back and forth, back and forth, unable to get that imaginary stench out of his system. “I c-can’t… I can’t b-breathe, Dad, I can’t-!”
With a forceful kick to the door, Aizawa was able to get it open with an impressive show of ease. Normally, he would of just demanded that Shinsou ‘open the door right now’ if he had rushed off mid-conversation to cry in the bathroom or if he heard traces of sniffles to accompany the tears Shinsou fought to hide from them behind the lock on the bathroom door. But it would seem Shouta understood the severity of the situation even though Hitoshi himself couldn’t comprehend anything beyond the overwhelming feelings taking over his nervous system.
Hizashi stands where Aizawa once stood when the latter drops to a crouch and crawls over to where Hitoshi trembled and cried on the floor. For once, Hizashi was at a loss for words as he stood with his hand pressed over his mouth, expression a mix between pity and his own urge to cry. His eyes did begin to fill up with tears of his own when he finally got a look at his boy, and this is what Shinsou hated more than anything; hurting those closest to him over these stupid little attacks of his.
“Come on, Toshi, don’t do that, please,” Shouta’s voice is a whisper, hurting but still so full of control as he coaxed the hands that Shinsou violently pulled at his scalp in a mantra of shushes. “Shhhh, shhhh, hey, it’s ok, it’s ok. Look at me?”
Why Aizawa, the man with a mind and integrity made up of stone cold steel, would reserve such a painfully gentle tone of voice for him of all people is something Hitoshi doesn’t think he will ever understand, nor ever deserve. Meeting his gaze and seeing such tenderly genuine affection and warmth that his gaze usually lacked, it was almost too good to be real.
“Everything’s going to be alright, ok?” Aizawa utters like it was the most casual promise; like it was so certain that Hitoshi had no choice but to believe it. He brings a hand to his son’s cheek, brushing a thumb along the pocket of tears still pooling and building at his eyelids. “Believe me. You’re the most resilient kid I’ve ever met, not to mention so keen and quick as a whip to catch on to anything you set your mind to.”
But that didn’t mean he sobbed any less when he lowered his head and accepted the loving touch of his dad’s hand to smooth the purple hair at the back of his neck, the skin of his fingers always so warm and dry to the touch.
God, he loved his parents so much…
“If you didn’t have a little bit of vulnerability left in you, I’d worry I turned you into a machine. My training regimens sure are bullet-proof enough to make that happen, but I’m not sorry, kiddo; not when every second I drill into you keeps my son one step closer to evading death and emerging victorious. You feel me?”
When Hitoshi nods his head vigorously, mouth pressed shut and tears still streaming down his face at a steady force, Aizawa whispers an, “Alright,” before slipping his arms through the bed of Shinsou’s knees and bringing him up to a carry, grunting at the crack and pops of his old knee joints.
As his old man turns around and prepares to make for the bathroom door, Hizashi crosses the threshold and approaches his mini family, eyes aglow with his own unshed tears as he caresses the creases in Hitoshi’s forehead with his thumb. Hizashi, too, has this seriously loving expression about him that only made Shinsou want to cry even harder. There was no one who could hug like Hizashi can; if he could melt and cry into that embrace forever, Shinsou would never feel cold again.
“I love you, baby, you know that, right?” Hizashi whispers, his voice quiet and straight-laced as if he could break down crying himself with a single waver of his own. Shinsou absentmindedly presses his forehead further into the warmth of Hizashi’s palm following the silent nod he expressed in return, his own voice hoarse and croaky when he expresses an, “I love you too, pops,” of his own.
Hizashi’s lips manage to stretch beyond it’s reassuring, tight-lip smile that fought to hold back cries, leaning in to press a lingering kiss to Hitoshi’s forehead before following at Aizawa’s heels towards their bedroom.
Hizashi quickly passes them to push the laundry basket out of their path before Aizawa is placing Shinsou in the middle of their king sized bed, the mere scent of the comforter and pillows smelling of a home Shinsou never thought he would ever have once upon a time.
Still in their casual down-time clothes, Aizawa and Hizashi move in on either side of him, what has become the routine for nights when Shinsou’s panic attacks are a little too much for him to bear.
Hizashi drops his head on the pillow beside Shinsou’s shoulder, gazing up at his face as he used his own sleeve to wipe away at the snot staining his upper lip.
Aizawa buries his face into the crook of Shinsou’s neck on his other side, emitting a deep breath in and out of his own before stretching his arm across the waists of both members of his family, holding them both close like he’d risk anything at all not to lose them. Shouta might not be especially skilled at physical combat, but when Hitoshi snuggles into those arms, he feels as if he is in no safer place in the world.
“We love you, kid. So much,” Aizawa’s voice is a grave whisper, face still hidden in Shinsou’s shoulder. Hizashi can actually manage the smallest of smiles at his words, lifting an arm to wrap around Aizawa’s own shoulders before gently caressing his fingertips across his shirt.
As if to emphasize that point, Hizashi lifts Shinsou’s other free hand to his lips and presses another kiss to his kunckles, squeezing his hand firm and seriously.
“And that’s something that won’t never, ever change. You can come to us, about anything and everything at all. It’s our job to protect you, and that it always will be.”
Trying to fight a second onslaught of tears he could feel already burning at his eyes, Hitoshi nods his head vigorously with an even wider, softer smile, returning the pressure of the squeeze in their joined hands.
It didn’t take long for Shinsou’s parents to drift off; Aizawa first, and of course the two cats that were already asleep at the corner of the bed before they even walked in here. They continued to hold each other close, Shouta’s arm still thrown around his middle and Hizashi’s hand still holding Hitoshi’s with no intentions of letting go.
Finally, Shinsou can manage a deep breath in of his own, his body finally allowing itself to deflate and settle down. This, right here, amounts to any amount of peace Hitoshi could ever want…

I've been watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and yet these are still somehow also MHA prompts...
EraserMic are undercover at the nine-nine
What would the case they're on be? No clue, don't care, not the focal point lmao
They'd probably be told to act as if they are not married and they'd be like: 'no'. And Mic would be like: 'don't be homophobic' to the HPSC
Would Aizawa still use his sleeping bag?? Holt probably wouldn't let him unless he does it for like thirty minutes in the evidence room lmao
Holt and Aizawa. I don't need to say more.
Terry and Aizawa get along well and Terry has a theory that Aizawa and Mic have a kid or two together. Bc of how Aizawa relates to him and his good advice. Maybe he even tells stories about 1-A and if they ask why they've never seen them or why they have so many? They can just say that they are foster parents, have opened their home to many kids (which may not be true just not with 1-A), and are still in contact with some of them
Aizawa and Charles... I think he would remind Aizawa of Midnight but weirder like a more exotic flavor of Midnight lmao but he wouldn't hate him or anything I don't think. Charles would probably annoy him the most if you don't count Hitchcock and Scully
Speaking of Midnight and her reminding Aizawa of people, Gina definitely would. But she also kinda reminds him of his husband but like only if his gremlin hours were always, 24/7, all the time
And back to Hitchcock and Scully I think Aizawa would scare the shit out of them into actually doing their jobs lol
Jake would probably think Aizawa hates him but desperately wants his approval and thinks he is so cool and badass. There should be a whole chapter about it (maybe some small mentions of it beforehand). Aizawa would definitely become like a third (or fourth– does Kevin count?) work dad for Jake. I feel like their relationship would kinda be like Jake's relationship with Holt and Rosa mixed together
I have no clue about Amy and Aizawa... Would she be desperate for his approval bc he's kind of like Holt? Maybe he's like a lieutenant or something? I feel like she would remind him of Midoriya but also Iida, she's like a mixture of the two
Rosa and Aizawa would get along really well and his desk would be in front of her own. Imagine the two of them as partners, perps might talk just from them walking into the room together. They'd probably spill their whole life story out of fear (which would annoy them lol). I feel like she would be attracted to him at first until she learns he's gay and is like: 'oh ok'
Mic's desk would be in front of Charles', the two of them would probably get along like him and Jake except he isn't obsessed with him and Mic would probably get way more exasperated lol
JAKE AND MIC!!! Need I say more? No, I don't think so
I feel like Gina and Mic would get on like a house on fire. The two of them are both secretly smart but act like eccentric airheads or well they act like airheads but both are pretty eccentric lmao
I think Mic and Holt would get along like Gina and Holt. I feel like Holt would think that if Jake ever matured he'd be like Mic lmao
Mic and Amy... Mic and Amy. I think these two would actually get along pretty well. I think they would bond over books and languages but that's... all I got lmao
I think Rosa reminds Mic of Aizawa. They would probably work really well together and the first time Mic like loses his self-control and goes crazy nuts and probably violent she definitely respects him more afterwards lol
Idk if Mic would either act like a disappointed parent to Hitchcock and Scully or avoid them at all costs lmao
I think Terry and Mic would work well together, get along really well, and respect the hell out of each other. Mic wears a lot of long sleeves out of habit at first and maybe something gets on his jacket (probably bc of Hitchcock and/or Scully) so he takes it off. Everybody but mostly Terry (and Jake) are like: 'daaamn'.
Jake: You are jacked! Aizawa: ofc he is we workout together. Jake: you what?! Terry: *asks about their workout routine* Mic: *talks to him about it* Aizawa: we take down criminals ofc we workout. Jake: *scoff* you don't need muscles to take down criminals. Aizawa: yeah? How's that working out for you? *Flashback: Jake tries to tackle a criminal but he ends up just weirdly hugging him. The guy either is so shocked that he just stays there and Aizawa arrests him or if the guy tried to keep running with Jake still hugging him*
Mic has tattoo sleeves too that also shock everyone and Mic tells everyone that Aizawa went with him to get his first tattoo getting one with him so he wouldn't be as scared. And Aizawa glares at Mic betrayed while Mic coos over the story like the traitor he is. Now, the squad (mostly Jake) wants to know what it is. Jake also mentions that Holt has a tattoo and Aizawa almost gets them to focus on that but Gina foils his plans. Or she is like: 'I will allow you to use the Captain as a distraction but only if you show me your tattoo'.
Mic's alias is Michael Jackson and he's like: 'yeah ma loved him' and y'know maybe that's actually true. So, everyone still calls him Mic and he spells it that way. It drives Amy bonkers but maybe Holt actually, surprisingly agrees with him bc why spell the nickname like that if his real name isn't spelled that way??
Aizawa's alias is Shouta Jackson. Since no one knows his real name even if they do know he's Eraserhead. And bc Mic can't refer to him as anything other than Shou and Eraser lmao
I can't think of anything else but if I do I will add more bc I love this
I also had more ideas but I liked this so much that I forgot about my other ideas 😭
Jake is thirty-THREE in s1 of b99 but Aizawa is only thirty in s1 of MHA. Can you imagine Jake reminds Aizawa of his students and he becomes like another work dad for Jake but then... Aizawa learns his age and is like: 'actually you're older than me' or he never tells him bc he knows Jake would be like: 'well, I'm older so' and Aizawa would get that done look he gets. The deadpan face but his jaw is like dropped in disbelief– y'know the one? Y'know what I'm talking about?
Does Captain Holt know they're undercover?? Maybe Gina knew the whole time and when asked all she says is this: 'Ik they weren't cops from day one. Heroes? For sure. It's a different flavor of authority, gurl'.
What would the squad's quirks be? I think Kevin would have an intelligence quirk. Maybe Terry has a super strength quirk? Maybe Amy is quirkless and that's another reason she wants to prove she isn't weak. Maybe Charles' quirk has to do with food or eating? Maybe Doug Judy can steal anything or something to do with stealing. Rosa? Jake? Holt? Hitchcock and Scully? Terry's twins? Nikolaj? Pimento (something wild that's for sure)? Damn maybe even Cheddar has a quirk lmao
Gina? (all ik is that she shouldn't have an intelligence quirk bc she acts dumber than she is so people are easier to manipulate as she's mentioned before)?
MHA's B99
Okay, okay, okay... I would love to see this idea!
Just the police side of things in MHA, maybe a little bit more crack like B99
So, Tsukauchi Naomasa is our starring lead (or is it the lead star?? whatever) with Tamakawa Sansa and Aizawa Shouta as the main supporting characters!!
Aizawa visits for cases, sometimes after hero patrols to do paperwork, sometimes to bring perps in, having coffee with Tsukauchi– etc.
You could have Sansa become a detective at some point!!! Like he takes the test, passes, and then we're all very proud of him?? I think so!!!
...Vigilante or freelance analyst consultant or police intern Midoriya Izuku??? Or any of the other lovely characters of MHA?? Like Shinsou? Kaminari?? Yaomomo where she learns more about the average person's life or those way less fortunate, like the homeless and or those discriminated against? Oooo– I like that idea, Mido's too lol
Hatsume having the police called on her for her explosions... Tsukauchi is so tired
This could be done as a one-shot series or a regular long chapter fic or one done like episodes... Whatever you want!
I mean imagine how many quirk mishaps they have to deal with. Like kids manifesting their quirks? Quirk accidents? Especially during high-stress situations like villain attacks? Villain attack in of themselves? Quirk accidents in the precinct? Quirk accidents in the field– cop or not?
There would probably be a need for OCs and you could use the B99 characters and change their names or have them be a taskforce that's on a really long case?? Pontiac Bandit works with Giran, buddies with Twice and Mr. Compress but wouldn't touch AFO with any size pole lmao????
The OCs could just be based on them or not all!
I don't have anymore but I'm sure I will soon! The more ideas will be under this lol

~ continuing my fanfic art dump here ~
Baby Izu takes his first steps into accidental vigilantism 💞
If you aren't familiar with my fic, go read it! Conditions May Apply on A03 (https://archiveofourown.org/works/49005181/chapters/123633232)
It's good, I promise. It's a vigilante Izu fic and I go very in-depth on mental health issues and realistic trauma responses, but I also incorporate as much humor as I feasibly can, it's a good time.
