TPN s02e04

HUH! 

Of course I’m watching this season as a manga reader, so my judgment is clouded, but at the same time I always try to be open-minded. Now, I know that my fellow manga readers will be disappointed, confused or angry but I honestly don’t think there is a reason for it... yet. 

It’s interesting to me that on hand hand they go anime original, but at the same time they take some scenes from the manga. I know that some will point fingers and say “they ruined it!”, to which I respond: Did they? There is a difference between ruining the scene and using it in a changed context, and I think it’s important to remember about it. The point is to ask whether said scene works in this context. 

But alright, let’s get to my points: 

- I’m sure the manga readers recognized the recorded phone call and I can already hear them scream (we all know why). But please, think for a moment: don’t you think it makes more sense? The pen was supposed to take you to the shelter, so I think it makes sense to put that message in there, right? Look, I know that you are disappointed, but don’t let it ruin your fun. 

- And you know why you shouldn’t let your fun be ruined? The names on the wall. I’m honestly very interested in the meaning of them in this story. What happened in /this/ version of events? Who wrote it, when and why? Aren’t you excited to find out? Because I sure am! Was I hoping for something different: yes. But not I get to be surprised and I love being surprised! 

- On the topic of being surprised: Isabella is back! I was hoping to see more of her in the anime. Again, I’m excited to see where her story line will take us. What will she do? Will she take the manga route? I hope so, but I can’t answer that question yet. And that’s what really makes me happy. 

- So, the bunker is no more, hm? Again, I know manga readers opinion about it, but don’t you think it makes the story more interesting? Yeah, I think that the attack wasn’t done perfectly and the CGI on the demon was... well, you know. But now we are on the untouched territory. Where will the children run? Will they stay in the forest? Will they try to reunite with Sonjou and Mujika? Or perhaps they might come across a certain location by accident? To be honest, I think it might be none of those options, but I would’t mind if it was. 

But you know what’s the biggest difference between manga and anime? Manga is mostly Emma’s story, while anime seems to be the whole family story. If I’m correct and we will mostly see the full squad rather then just Emma, Ray, Don and Gilda, I won’t mind.

So, to sum up, I’m just going to enjoy the ride for now. Let’s be honest, at this point, compering anime and manga too often might just take your enjoyment away. Let’s judge the anime by its story line. Let’s forget everything we know and try to have fun. It’s nicer that way ;D
