I love this… I can picture him standing slowly and walking toward the bookcase, my eyes on him from just before he rose. How does he look so tall, why is it surprising every time?

Satan always startled you with how tall he was.

There was no reason for you to think he wasn’t tall, thinking he’d be short because he was a quiet, bookworm type was just illogical. If he was any shorter you were certain you’d still be attracted to him as well but each time you watched him rise from his chair to replace the book in his lap your eyes couldn’t help but follow him across the room. His legs were long and likely very beautiful underneath his pants, an embarrassing thought but he wasn’t a mind reader so you didn’t feel self-conscious about having it. 

But you should know that Satan was observant, and that as relaxed as he was just having a reading marathon with you in his room, he was still aware of what was happening.

“Did you need something?” He asked, not turning back to face you, “I can get you another book, if you’d like.”

“No, I’m not finished this one, I just…” You stared at his back, watching as he carefully stepped around a tall stack of books. “How tall do you think you are?”

“…Hm?” Satan doesn’t understand what why it mattered, nor had he ever properly measured his height, he simply was what he was.

You ignored his raised brow and rose from your seat, approaching him with purpose. He stopped moving, carefully setting his book down on the bed where he’d been lounging previously. You stand in front of him, looking up with a pout on your lips but it gave Satan no further information. Was there something on your mind that you just didn’t want to talk to him about? You being so silent was annoying him, and he wished you’d just spit it out before he started to get nervous.

“Was just thinkin’ about how tall you were, that’s all…” You were thinking of other things now, like how beautifully his lower lip seemed to shine; the concept of him using lip gloss like Asmo almost made you giggle but you held back, knowing you had thrown poor Satan off enough tonight. “And you look very kissable. Did you know that?”

You tried to reach his lips without his help but it’s hopeless without that little ladder he used to reach the higher parts of his shelves; you’re struggling and Satan continued to stare at you like he couldn’t tell what you wanted. When you finally let out a frustrated sigh Satan gave in to your demands, a playful little smirk on his lips as he finally leaned down to give you opportunity you needed.

“Is my height a problem?”

“Not at all,” You let out a little hum, showing you were actually thinking twice about that, “Only when you deny me kisses.”

“I never denied you. Good things come to those who wait.”

Not surprised since this is the site that only talks about racism and thinks it’s a big deal when they see it demonstrated in the cartoons and comics they like *coughs* dungeonmeshi *coughs* (for example at least. I haven’t seen THIS many white ppl talk as in depth about racism on here as much as these fandom nerds, man. I stg. Like “Ohhhh, so you all DO acknowledge that racism is real? Just not in real life even if you could feel it slapping you in the face at high speed. Gotcha.” It’s crazy.

Tumblr is like, 90% white and is extremely centered around them. That’s why you barely see stuff that’s important to black and brown people ever trending here or being talked about. It has to be something incredibly huge to the point where even white people can’t ignore it like they usually do, to talk about it here.

They only talked about George Floyd here because the topic of his death became world news. Even people in other countries were talking about it. Before him, it was probably Ferguson and Trayvon Martin… most of them are still trying their best to ignore the genocides because it’s a “touchy subject.” What do you expect from white people who live in their own bubbles of comfort and refuse to pop it with a needle??? They find comfort in their privilege and faux ignorance (they love playing stupid to avoid conversations about important things outside of fandoms like, are these mfs born with half a brain dedicated to fandom or what.) That’s literally all these mfs make a big deal out of, especially on this annoying ass platform. The ao3 mfs will go to war for the site that allows racist ff and cp like it’s no big deal. I wonder how many people here even donated to the site while actively scrolling past dono posts from folks who really do need help. They act like they’re doing a civil service by defending this site that makes over the amount of it’s intended dono goal in minutes.

Then you already know as soon as you even bring up racism in the stuff they like, they start ganging up and harassing black bloggers especially, calling them TERFs and the whole nine. Anything to make that person look bad for being concerned about the racism that they have such an intense aversion to. God, it’s absolutely exhausting knowing that these people would have no problem choosing a cartoon character over your entire existence if they COULD. Isn’t that fucking sad, man?

This 4th of July I’m stealing the patriotism euphoria that’s usually associated with assholes idolizing the worst attributes of this country because fuck ‘em I live here too and remembering the things this country actually got Right is an important exercise when trying to rally anyone to want to defend it in November SO putting my money where my mouth is I’ll start easy and say I really like National Parks!! It’s rad how many of them there are and how they’re actual set up to preserve some of the most beautiful wild areas in our country while still letting people visit to enjoy and experience nature!! (Less important but I love how they put national parks on the quarters I think that’s real fun)

As shitty as the breakup was (and it definitely was) I think it’s also true that fanon bucktommy was always better than canon, and a lot of us feel betrayed by canon not matching our fanon. Canon bt, much like the rest of canon 911, was poorly written disorganized story beats. The scene at the end of 7x04 was fantastic which is what most people remember, but like… the scene in the firehouse earlier with the basketball that was literally just an Amazon prime ad?? The fuck was that. Tommy just leaving buck at harbor station when he takes off with Eddie? The way that Tommy just called an Uber for himself after their first date without saying a word about it until Buck asked if it was their ride ??? Who does that?? The relationship was wildly underdeveloped onscreen (they’re suddenly boyfriends? Officially? I guess??) and a lot of us just filled in the blanks as we are expected to do, but that doesn’t change that actual canon was. Not good. The end of their relationship was never going to be well written or even well handled.

This is not at all me excusing the mess that was this last episode but let’s not all pretend like this show was ever well written lmao. It’s trash. It’s literally trash tv. It’s MY trash, and your trash, but it’s at best a prime time soap opera where four (4) firefighters save Los Angeles and/or possibly all of North America from disaster once a season. The writers will make the characters do anything if they think it’s interesting. There are no through lines. There are no meaningful and complex multi-season character arcs. These characters cheat on their partners, hurt their friends, make mistakes constantly (except chimney who has done nothing wrong in his life ever) and go through more trauma in a single season of television than a team of psychiatrists is equipped to handle in a lifetime.

Just keep writing those bucktommy fics, because they’re always going to be better than canon. You’re always going to love the characters more. You’re always going to be more invested in the relationship.
