She's from New England —

A, as she's known, was born in Rhode Island. She grew up splitting her time between Rhode Island and Kennebunkport, Maine. Hii, so since school has started a few weeks ago, I've been having trouble finding healthy snacks/"meals" to take with me.

I have school from 8 to 14 or 15, and I do eat a big breakfast at around 7 am. The thing is that I can't exactly pack a whole meal with me (and I don't need it also!) because I have breakfast already and lunch as soon as I get home. I'm looking for healthy snack options that aren't too high in cals and are portable, but I'm quickly running out of ideas. So far I've eaten mostly fruit (apples, bananas, peaches etc) and some yogurt from time to time. Also, thinking that I were to bring a salad or boiled eggs to school for example, I would get stared at like crazy (so not a good idea)

hi angel! thank you for the ask. i actually have a similar problem some days - finding or thinking of healthy snacks can be tricky! my lunches to take to school post could be helpful, so definitely check that out, but here are some little healthy sweet and savoury snack ideas (i won’t be including calories as that could be upsetting to some of my audience but feel free to look it up on your own accord!!). hopefully this comes in useful! ˚₊‧꒰ა ꣑ৎ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚

’snickers’ rice cakes (peanut butter, banana and a drizzle of chocolate on a rice cake).

yogurt parfait (greek yogurt with granola and mixed berries).

avocado rice cakes or toast.

homemade banana oatmeal cookie.

yn takes the opportunity of a child-free day to go and see the girls so they can have a little pamper session or a coffee and a cake to have a catch-up over the last few weeks so it leaves chris to look after their little on. he dresses her in her little arsenal shirt that has 'babymd' on the back with the last two numbers of the year she was born, her shorts and socks matching with the white colour and the badge embellishment on the material and she has her own tiny pair of astros that (almost) match chris'.

and when they get to the location, before any of his videographers or his helpers came by, he has a little kick around with her and lets her kick balls into the goal as he pretends to save the balls but lets them pass him by and into the back of the net. and it's a sweet moment of 'daddy-daughter' that he takes full advantage of because there'll be days when he couldn't do it and he wanted to enjoy every moment before she grew up.

and when yn finishes up with her time with the girls, she arrives at where he's filming for the last hour of his shoot and babymd is just so happy and excited to see her mummy and barely leaves her side from the moment she walks over.

"hello, poppet," she coos softly and lifts her up onto her hip, "have you had a good day with daddy?"

and she nods and plays with the necklace hanging around yn's neck, the scuffing of arthur's shoes coming over to her making her look in his direction, a smile on her lips.

Summary: Clint comes to watch your end of semester show, but there’s someone missing

“Well done Amanda that was a beautiful poem” your grade school teacher said as she guided the audience in applause. Today was your schools end of semester assembly, in which they asked a number of the kids to perform poems and songs of sorts to their family members. “Next up we have y/n Romanoff reading ‘my hero’ “ you had been picked to read out something you had written in class a few weeks ago and you were rather nervous. The audience welcomed you up with small applause as you came up to the microphone at the front of the stage. You coughed quietly before beginning. “My hero is my mommy, and my mommy is an angel” you shyly said. There were a few quiet gasps as people put two and two together. You were the black widows daughter, Natasha Romanoffs daughter.

You fiddled with your crumpled paper as you continued to read “my mommy is my hero because she saved the world. She gave me the best cuddles and told the best stories. My mommy is my hero because she was funny and pretty.” The room was silent as you spoke and the air felt heavy. You had sobbed so much that you were numb now, which is why you were confused when you saw Clint quietly crying in the audience. “My…my mommy is my hero because…uncle Clint?” You mumbled as a silent tear escaped your eye. You quickly wiped it away as you looked around the room, watching strangers sobbing at your misery. All those sad looks, all the pity, suddenly it all came back.

You pushed the microphone over as you ran down off the stage. “Leave me alone!” You cried as your teacher reached for you. She stood in sorrow as Clint ran down the hallway after you. Your little feet kept moving until your uncle caught up. “Y/n stop sweetheart” Clint said as he gently grabbed your arm “no!” You screamed as you tried to twist out of his hold. “I want mama not you!” You sobbed. Clint knew you didn’t mean it, but he couldn’t help the feeling of guilt that washed over him. If he could bring Natasha to you he would, and he tried. “I know you do” he said as he pulled you into his arms “but she’s not here y/n, I’m sorry” the archer cried, feeling responsible for all of your pain.

You flung your tiny fists about as Clint held you close “I’m sorry” he kept repeating. “Why did you leave her there?” You sobbed into Clint’s arms “why didn’t you bring her back to me?” You desperately asked. “I’m sorry y/n, I’m so sorry” Clint cried, wishing more than anything he could fulfil your wishes. He knew it was his fault, it was his fault that Natasha wasn’t there to watch your performance, his fault that she wouldn’t ever see you go to high school. Clint knew it was his fault that Natasha wouldn’t be making your 8th birthday cake - the one she baked every year. Little did you know that the last one, would be the last one.

Today should be my Poppa’s 91st birthday. I miss him so much…but when I look at my children, I can see glimmers of him. My oldest has his name and his loyalty. My second has his fire and then some. My third. Oh my third. My third was born just four days before my Poppa passed and if it had been the other way around I would be convinced of reincarnation. Because his smile. The light in his eyes. They are my Poppa’s. And my fourth has his cheekiness and his wit. I know he watches over her, laughing away mad at her antics.

He is in the comfort found in my cup of tea, he is in the serenity of the foggy misty sunrises, he is in the joy of a walk along the beach. He stands behind me as I peel potatoes and whip cream by hand. He sits next to me when I go to the sing song. He is my guardian angel and I know he enjoys the work because he gets to come home to do it.

So here’s to the man. Happy birthday. I will not have any of your brandy cake but I would like a scoop of ice cream. Slainte xx

"Maybe my eyes watered a bit, but it wasn't because it hurt. It was because..." Andrew trails off. He still hasn't figured that part out.

All he knows is that it wasn't pain, it was the absence of it. Staring up at Neil yesterday made Andrew feel like nothing would ever go wrong again, like he would never know any hardship or sorrow for the rest of his life. Like he would always be safe in Neil's presence, like he had no reason to worry about anything.

"I'm not sure why," Andrew says. "But you didn't hurt me. Just... blinded me a bit. And... I think I forgot my name for a minute but—."

Neil's eyes go impossibly wide. "You what? You forgot your name?"

"You reminded me."

"Andrew. That's..." Neil makes a face. "That's not good."

"So I gathered. Sudden memory loss is never a good thing, Neil." Andrew tells him. Then he picks up the plate and pushes it into Neil's hands. "I brought you cake. Stole it from Aaron for you and everything."

I cannot express in words how much I love the crew in Our Flag Means Death. I adore how much personality they all have even tough they are stuck in the "background character" group. I would honestly watch it if any of them would have their own spin-off. I mean, I like Ed and Stede just fine, but look at these babies!!!

Frenchie: Oh, don't get me started on Frenchie, I adore the man. He's the literal impersonation of 'looks like a cinammon roll, could kill you'. My man is a DnD bard who invented pyramid schemes *and* fanfictions. Plus he may be the genius of his age while still believing in witches and crystals.

Wee John: Roomies! Man, how much more I'd like to see of this beautiful Drag Queen. Long live Calypso! And how much I whish to know if he sews his own drag clothes.🤔

Black Pete: It's not healthy how much I'm invested in "Blackbeard's most trusted man". He thinks he needs to create cool stories to get the others to like him, but he's actually very soft and caring. I mean, have you seen the finger he gave to Lucius? He's an angel.

Lucius: If it weren't from Ori from the Hobbit movies, he'd be my favorite scribe of all times. My man is underpaid for all the realitionship drama he has to listen to and his bonus consisted of getting thrown off the ship (which is, like, rude). Also, he can pickpocket Spanish Jackie???? Hi, yes, I'd like to order a backstory, possibly 20 hours long, please.

Buttons: Oh gosh, the Sea Witch. I'm in need of much more explanation and screen time dear writers. And he straight up talks to animals and curses people? Aunty took one look at him and went: "Yapp, that's the Sea Witch". I wonder how Frenchie haven't declared him an evil witch yet.

Roach: My man is a maniac cook whose also the medic just in case. He's half crazy and I couldn't thank him more for it. He also let's Stede request orange cakes from him which is just very sweet overall. Bro also invented peanut butter (like we wouldn't notice it), then fed it to an allergic person, then blamed it on a curse.

the Swede: It's most certainly not fair how well written he is for him to be standing in the background. He has the voice of an angel, please! He might not be the smartest person in the room, but he fucks like a jackhammer, I mean he became hot. That's something.

Jim: Oh, sometimes I cannot comprehend how great Jim is. They're mute, then a mermaid, then neither, 'cause they're just Jim! They're exactly the kinda person to give up revenge for 'not feeling the vibe' anymore. They also would kill anyone who hurts their crewfamily without batting an eye.

Oluwande: Don't even get me started on this beautiful, lovely teddy bear. He's the best hearted, but still serious and trustful of all. He literally gets along with everyone and we need so much people like him. Today's message is to be more like Olu!

Characters

This chapter will be dedicated to all those characters who accompanied us on our adventure for the pure hearts, so I hope you like it :) 

Queen Jaydes, Grambi y Luvbi

Queen Jaydes is the kind-hearted (but strict) queen of Underwhere. As ruler of The Underwhere, she possesses power over life and death. Queen Jaydes is named hence the god of the underworld in Greek mythology, Hades, as well as "upset," meaning "unenthusiastic" or "bored" (both qualities she possesses). Fun fact: she bears a certain resemblance to the Queen of Shadows.

Following Dimentio's defeat, Jaydes travels to The Overthere upon learning that Luvbi has returned to life. There, she promises to give Luvbi all the love she can and encourages the heroes to visit her to judge her when they finish her games, as thanks for her hard work.

Gambi

His name is a portmanteau of "grandfather" and "Nimbi."

Just as Jaydes is based on Hades, the ancient Greek lord of the underworld, Gambi may be based on Zeus, the sky god and ruler of Mount Olympus in Greek mythology. Additionally, as The Overthere also borrows from Christian theism, certain aspects of Gambi are shared with God, such as his position as head of the angelic Nimbis and his conflict with Bonechill (whose story closely resembles that of Lucifer). However, Grambi is not credited with creating the world or life and is neither omniscient nor omnipotent.

Luvbi

Her name is a combination of the words "love" and "Nimbi." After Bonechill's defeat, Luvbi assumes his true form to save all the worlds. After saving all the worlds, Luvbi recreates herself as a true Nimbi girl independent of the white Pure Heart. (A/N: I have a theory that explains how, so check out the Pure Hearts chapter ;))

Fun Fact: Luvbi plays a similar role to TEC-XX from the previous game, in that they both make a sacrifice to help Mario and his friends at the end of Chapter 7, only to be inexplicably revived upon Mario's defeat the final boss.

Kalamarx

After the heroes defeat Mr. L in the heart of the Whoa Zone, Squirps reveals to them that he is the prince of a forgotten kingdom, Squirpia, and that his mother, Squirpina XIV, was entrusted with the Pure Heart by the Ancients. She then placed Squirps in a hibernation capsule for 1,500 years, so that he could lead the heroes to the Whoa Zone when they arrived in Outer Space. After relaying his mother's message to them asking them to save all worlds, the prince hands over the Blue Pure Heart. The post-chapter narration reads that, his quest finally done, Squirps lay down near the statue of his mother and closed his eyes to rest. He was presumed dead by the heroes; however, returning to Outer Space at any time afterward reveals that he had only fallen asleep, and the player can replay the chapter as normal.

After beating the game, the heroes can find Squirps in the Whoa Zone near his mother's statue, assuring her of the world's safety and that he would restore Squirpia someday.

Tipptron, with her tattle says: His full name is Squirp Korogaline Squirpina. It seems he is actually the prince of a space kingdom... He dreams of ascending the throne someday. I'm sure he has what it takes...

Some fun facts: Squirps' reaction to being fed a chocolate bar can be seen as a callback to Gourmet Guy from the original Paper Mario, who acted similarly when fed Cake and also impeded Mario's progress in Chapter 4 of that game.

He is also somewhat similar to Flavio, as both claim themselves to be gourmets and are initially hesitant to accept the edibles Mario brings them.

Excluding enemies, Squirps is the only character in the game who flips into 3D as the player does; this is the case even when they visit him in the Whoa Zone.

Squirps is the second character in the Paper Mario series to fall asleep and be mistaken for dead by Mario and co., with Admiral Bobbery being the first.

random, short teacher!ross idea : it's a day or two before the end of term, either christmas or summer is coming up (you decide) — both your classes are watching films, you + Ross sneak away for a bit... I wonder what you guys get up to...👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️

I’m going to go with christmas (what a shock, am I right?).

Like you said, maybe it’s the last day of term and you’ve put a christmas film on the projector for them all. Being the absolute angel of a teacher that you are, you’ve bought a few boxes of chocolates and some snacks for them, so they’re all having a ball, chatting away and watching a movie with their friends before they break up from school for two weeks. Ross has done exactly the same, all the kids so chilled out. All the marking has been done, and you’ve kind of just been tidying your classroom and tying up odd little jobs. You’re so excited to finish work and have a bit of break - I think you and ross would be spending christmas with his family, and then go on a little trip in the week between christmas and the new year.

He sends you a text message like ‘are you busy? xx’. You immediately text him back with a ‘currently mentally deciding the order of my favourite chocolates in a box of quality street. bored to tears.’ He laughs at that, messaging back ‘fancy a walk to the canteen? craving a coffee.’

You tell your class that you just need to nip into the stock cupboard for a second, but they’re all too busy talking between themselves to really care or notice your absence lol. He’s waiting in the hallway, leaning against the wall with his hands in his trouser pockets, grinning when he sees you hurriedly making your way to him. There’s a spring in your step because a) you have two hours until you’re off work for two weeks, and b) your boyfriend just looks so bloody hot and you’ve not seen him all morning (the horror!). There’s no one else in the corridor, with a lot of other teachers taking down displays at what not, so he bravely presses a chaste kiss to your cheek and takes your hand in his when you get to him. You ask him about his morning and how his classes are as you walk to the canteen, and his heart melts at the way you’re so engaged in what he’s telling you.

I know the ask suggested that they get up to some ✨interesting✨ things when they sneak away, but I think they’re just so in love with each other and content with their careers that they just want to pens as much time together as they can in a professional manner lol. Don’t get me wrong, he definitely fantasises about it all the time, whispering things in your ear and making you hot under the collar right before you have to deliver some kind of presentation to head of year, but today it’s kind of like you’re both so excited to spend two weeks uninterrupted with each other. The canteen is empty, so you sit at one of the tables, across from each other, drinking a coffee and sharing a slice of cake leftover from lunchtime. It’s so wholesome, and after like fifteen minutes you’re like we should probably go back lol.

You don’t see each other for the rest of the afternoon, but you’re so eager to leave when the days over that you rush to his classroom, coat and scarf already on and bag in hand. He finds it so cute - you’re all excited and smiley to spend time with him and he just loves it! I think that it’s now that they kind of get up to some stuff lol. He’s still packing up his laptop and some books he needs to take with him over the break, so you sit on the edge of his desk and watch him while he does so. You can see the muscles in his back through his shirt and you’re kind of staring, which definitely turns him on a bit. You end up making out on his desk, but you’re like can we please carry this on at home my arse hurts on this desk.
