Nico R. and a lost pup kinda screams like pup Max to me. Like, Nico never saw himself as a mother and doesn't have any instincts, but at a track, he left the door to his motorhome open and when he came back, a dirty little pup is rolled together on his carpet there.

He'd try and drag the pup outside, hoping for its parents to show up, but after over two hours, nobody came and pick up the pup, so he's forced to take care of that pup

Oh pls! Nico leaving his door open and coming back to find a scruffy, dirty looking pup curled up on the floor. Nico is a little disgusted cos the pup is getting his room dirty and he brings Max out to see if he xsn find a parent. No one comes for Max and Max is just quietly staring at Nico cos he knows no one is coming for him and nico looks like a perfect momma!

Nico sighing and taking the pup to the hotel and using his very expensive shampoo and shower gel to clean the pup (he wasn't sure if the hotel stuff would give the pup a rash okay! He doesn't care!) And he has seb bring over some pup clothes.
