Thinkin more on the Xeno au and about the family. And mostly about what everyone would be. Like of course they'd start out as chestburster-esque with more flesh-colored exoskeleton that'd be really soft like skin and mostly only a long tail. And then grow into other things, but there's several castes that even basic runners and drones can grow into.

However they will also use xenomorphs as mounts, attack dogs, and other such things. For example one yautja rode a xeno-rex in ancient times as a hunting steed.

Okay I have started randomly thinking about the Aliens Vs Predator game (the 2010 one). Specifically the xenomorph campaign, along with xeno-batfam. Y'know, just slowly rotating it.

Just thinking of a what if scenario slash crossover y'know. I mean the vibes are there with xenomorph experiments and all that y'know. Just pondering on if Bruce never ended up on Earth per se

Heck maybe the JL don't even exist yet or something idk, just rotatin ideas rn lol

Meat Marionette 7?? 8????

Thinkin of the lil robins and other kids and just, them trying to build Jarro a meat body maybe. Idk, still rotating Jarro and if he'd have one seeing as they had to build his human form via some different body parts and such...

Anyway did some sleep deprived sketches of each- though I just realized I didn't label Cullen, oh well lol. I like to think the first couple robins are all more flesh and exposed muscle looking as the Tunnels adjust to building bodies that can still, well, grow and develop. They've only just succeeded in building a body that can move and semi function with Bruce after all, and even then it takes a couple years for that body to shift into something more alive with like, a stomach and such that needs more than time in the Hive and some Lazarus water for food and hydration. And even then it's another year or so of the bodies needing to be fed via IV before everything actually becomes semi functional as well, a body.

But anyway, his eleven children!

Dick's body starts out the most simple, but is also the first that they discover that the meat marionettes can in fact evolve seeing as he starts to grow electricity-producing organs almost akin to something like an eel. Which is probably very distressing to Bruce because like, this is his baby?? Who can suddenly tase people which is fine, but what if it gets stronger?

Jason's robin body doesn't get a lot of evolution before the Joker Incident, and then it formed a cocoon to become the next form over a year or so. I do feel like his wings were fluffier and had some down still, not enough to prevent flight, but enough to slow down say, take offs.

By the time Tim & Steph comes around, their bodies have started to develop more armor similar to Bruce's. Like the bodies are slowly developing even when the Hive first creates them from the flesh walls as the Tunnels get better at building living moving bodies. Like it's still are mostly soft larva-esque chitin still, but It's still visibly learning.

And then with Cass her body is far darker, more similar to one of the Bats than the rest of the babies. There's still bits of color- bright yellows to warn for venom and poison- but it's such a sudden left turn that they're concerned about what the Tunnels might do next.

It's a relief when it goes back to more colorful designs with the next ones, even if Duke probably has ended up the most armored straight out of the flesh.

Honestly in general I feel like they're actually very soft if someone gets close enough to touch them. Like they look terrifying, especially in night when it's dark out, but compared to their parent & aunt they're like fluffy baby birds. Something the kids in Gotham are probably familiar with, because the birds will help comfort scared people and victims while Bruce takes care of whatever caused their distress. Sometimes just crouches down and pulls out a small puzzle or something from one of his bags while waiting for the police to arrive while distracting the kids, his own and not.

Jarro if he does have a body like theirs, meat marionette or made by them, I feel like it looks more like some sort of hybrid of whatever the batclan are and some sort of aquatic creature. Like an aquatic (swimming?) xenomorph compared to a runner or a drone. Visibly the same species, but looks almost like a similar caste or subspecies if that makes sense? But honestly if yall have any ideas I am open to them. ______________________________________________________________

Thinking about Bruce’s cousin Kate Kane in the xeno AU, and just, I am obsessed with the idea of her continuously taking care of the yautja that try to enter the Gotham area to try and hunt her family. And just, her slowly gathering technology and weapons and them working together to figure out how each of them works. 

Like she is still completely human but like hell is anyone going to hurt her family, adopted or not. The bats are already stealthy, she’s already stealthy and is one of the few to use guns, so combine that with alien stealth technology and plasma weapons? Not much is going to survive her anger.

I return to the AVPxDC crossover. This Au. This one right here, because I have Thoughts. Specifically about the entire batfam.

Now the batfam is actually kind of large if you include those like Alfred and Kate. Which one should very much always include Alfred as family, that's Bruce's second dad.

But anyway, batfam. Most have been discussed already, including Kate pretty much pulling an Uno Reverse card on the yautja and having her own trophy room of all the hunters and their tech. Along with the robot dogs (canon in batman ayy) just even larger.

And it's been discussed about Jason becoming a big beefy crusher after his dip in the Lazarus Pit, and his version of Pit Rage pretty much him being overwhelmed by past memories from past xenos along his line when they're usually blurred.

It's even been discussed of Damian being a lil science-experiment child like canon just with a hint of bonus confusing instincts not helping his entire situation while in the League.

Not even touching the poetic mirroring between Bruce and Clark and their continued friendship.

But you know who I want to talk about? Terry and Matt Mcginnis, the boys from Batman Beyond. Those boys, the lil buddies usually forgotten about. They were talked about for like, two sentences and I am rotating this world's version of them. Honestly I kind of like the idea of them being like the only two eggs that Bruce had. Or at least the two that hatched, because who knows what is even able to work with how much alteration their biology has had, even compared to other xenos.

Stuck thinking of xeno batfam again. Hyperfixation has latched onto it and I am just slowly rotating the au like a microwave.

Ooh, what if it made the bodies by sucking the human bodies into a cocoon, and after a period of time it spits out two, one human and the other the empty bat. Like that would be how the psychic connection is formed and it'd explain how and why it takes body parts too.

Maybe it's a Wayne heritage thing? Like, the secret underground flesh plant tunnels could be something established and maintained decades ago before the knowledge was loat/destroyed, but Bruce is the only one who's ever shared it with 'outsiders' so even then there's not a precedent for the amount of activity it's seeing.

Like, they could use it to quickly get around, fast enough to cross the city in minutes, but emerging from it always looks like they've been born from the dirt and bricks, and if they get a good angle it looks like they coalesce from the shadows. Only the right biological trigger - ie, the meat marionettes (disgusting name 10/10 would traumatise a jl member) are able to open it and travel through safely, which means they can't do it in thir humans bodies (apart from Bruce, being a Wayne).

The further down it goes, the less it looks like stone and cave and more the internal organs of some great creature. The tunnels are small and cramped, like nerves or intestines. No one has been allowed that far anyway, but superman refuses to look down when he's in the cave because the view with xray vision is harrowing.

Batman: *having a good day on an engaging but not dangerous case, chirping and whistling a tune in inhuman pitch*

Clark: *realising B can hear and sing in pitches previously only he could hear* *joins in tentatively*

Batman: *stutters over the melody but refuses to give superman the satisfaction a reaction*

Clark: omg he accepts me ^u^! I think we're friends!! He's like me :D!!!!

@phoenixcatch7 had the fun idea of xenomorph-inspiration and the dollhouse being replaced by the Hive instead and I am here for that. A large cave that feels utterly wrong to anyone not part of their colony, if they can even find it. I am thinking something similar to Gemini Home Entertainment if anyone has watched that, with something between plant and flesh growing across the walls. Where one can't tell the difference between the two, or realize that it's already gripping onto them. The caves are already dangerous after all, nevermind the depths that It doesn't let anyone else into.

Also made me think about Jason, and like, so he doesn't die in the cryptid au, and definitely wouldn't in a world where he has a flesh puppet. But that still makes me think about how badly said puppet would be utterly maimed, right? Not to mention the explosion that would burn a lot of it too alongside whatever affect that'd have on his mind and human body. But now I am thinking of how the tunnels are everywhere under Gotham, how the bits of tendrils can reach through that ash, can meld with it, can for a cocoon of sorts. Turning a little robin into something else, letting it evolve into something new.

I am also rotating on if they'd be known to the Justice League like in the Doll au or if only Clark knows about them like in the Genesis au. Tempted for the second if only so there can be fun distinctly Not Human moments. Maybe the Justice League even getting concerned for their friend Superman because there's times he'll whistle or chirp under his breath (he might have picked up a few habits from his friends from Gotham) or literally snap his teeth if he's startled.

But oh the lil robins would probably be so adorable. Very fluffy and downy and brightly colored in a clear warning, but still unsettling. The way they move isn't right, like a jerky contortionist, but can also go too fluid or completely inhumanely still within a heartbeat. Not helped by the fact they don't need to breathe. O h, the batfam could most definitely be venomous. What with how in both Aus they use paralytics and sedatives on their claws and spikes, It could definitely include that within the secondary bodies.

I am thinking for Oracle, like centipede with a humanoid torso almost, like her humanoid legs fold up amidst the mini legs and ribs. Like I think I'd have to sketch it out to get my thoughts across probably lol. No idea if I'm getting my thoughts across. Like a humanoid amphiptere but centipede-esque instead of snake. Or a snake xeno.

RIP Dick, your sacrifice will never be forgotten and at least it gave the others a warning about what to expect. On the bright side he got to have so many long hot baths to help, and discovered what gives relief during the molting.

Gosh I have so many thoughts about Jason's Red Hood lol. Like in the Genesis Au part of his Hood disguise is a partially exposed skull. For this I'm almost tempted for like, chunks of different skulls being used to repair the marionette. Like there are bits of bleached exposed bone forming the spikes and his face-shape is very different from every one of his siblings.

Nightwing

Now like, it’s been previously discussed that when going from Robin to Nightwing he shoots up in size and starts to rapidly lose his body feathers over a few months, alongside his colors starting to turn darker. But I was thinking about how like, he gets his name (in this Au) from his wings and such having patterns akin to a night sky with stars. But I am also thinking about like, the rest of his body and thinkin’ about the originally soft lighter chitin shifting to a deep blue instead of a dark black like the rest of his body, almost mimicking the suit canon Nightwing has. And his domino pattern also shifting to a blue while the black spreads across his body. Like he’s not quite an adult yet, he still does have feathers but his chitin is no longer soft and the down covering him to help him keep warm is gone. Like I am saying full on molting like a mixture of a snake and bird and bug where there is large chunks of the previous ‘skin’ coming off alongside thick tufts of fuzz. Also thinkin about how his electrical organs develop, and if like, he’d get these long, thin spikes along his spine that act like rods for said electricity.

So I am imagining some centipede vibes for her, but not in the way you think. I am saying like, chest cavity where the ‘ribs’ open up like extra limbs and goes all the way down her tail. Like she can pick up an entire person or two without her arms or wings, chest just opens and grips onto them. Also pondering about almost like, unfoldable needle-like spikes inside said cavity where she could dose someone with either the cure to something or poisons. Like I am thinking about Oracle being this rarely seen absolutely terrifying ambush predator that you can only tell coming from the repeated click-click-click of claws and bone. The thing that won’t leave my mind though is just, her having almost organic ‘wiring’ that are more like tendrils with needle-esque spikes that can produce electricity similar to Nightwing’s that allows her to disrupt and hack into different electronics.

the fact that there are canonical instances of flying alien queens is terrifying, LIKE LOOK AT THIS SHIT THIS IS SO COOL BUT SO TERRIFYING

like a normal queen is already oh god oh shit oh fuc- but a FLYING queen is OH GOD OH SHIT OH FUCK IT CAN FLY- Bruce being a flying queen style hybrid? FUCKIN DEFCON ONE for ANYONE thinking of trying to invade earth (and also probably the outlook of any species that knows of xenomorphs like) I love this AU its smashing two of my fav things together >D

also though, as a side note, Clark here would have his Bestie + his accompanying xeno kids possibly around for a very long time much like how he will likely be (provided no one manages to kill them) since canonically we don't actually know how long a xenomorph can live for - like we have one canon example in AvP2010 of a queen (referred to as 'the matriarch' and kinda nicknamed 'the hag queen' given her look) that was literally thousands of years old and she could still kick ass, her only visible aging being the fact she'd gone white presumably with her age and was a little ragged looking (its presumed via aging but could possibly also have been the fact she was captive for thousands of years, I'd imagine that would do a number)

I lovvvve the xenomorph design so much, it's surprisingly intricate and it just looks so fun to move around as.

Not a very imposing pic lol, but I can and will info dump. These creatures are very suited for gotham.

Their legs alone, fully extended, are the length of a adult humans height! Their tail is twice the length of their body exactly, and fully prehensile! It's used for pulling off impressive feats of balance, giving them insane maneuverability and and agility at high speeds in just about any environment! In water variants the tail is also webbed and rudder like, which makes them very fast and agile underwater!

They've got six fingers on each hand, two thumbs, and either their fingers have ball joints at the base or they're very flexible, because they often use them to climb small slippery surfaces like pipes, with enough strength to support their full weight plus victims! The extra thumb is used for a superior grip too - and they have small beans!

The toes are long, flat and slightly webbed, allowing it increased mobility on loose surfaces like sand or snow and in water. The lack of a proper heel makes up for the increased floor contact that would otherwise lead to reduced speed in a straight line.

The high shoulder guards protect the neck from side angles, while the spikes/vents and mouth protect the front and back. The spikes are angled to prevent catching on the long head, which presumably houses the brain, telepathic (?) organs that allow for long and close range communication with pack members and the hive queen, and the muscles for the infamous phalange jaw.

The lack of lips is interesting in that it doesn't stop drool which is a pretty resource intensive thing to just let dribble everywhere and I'm pretty sure the joint spikes are just to look cool but all in all the xenomorph is a very elegant design!

It's an extremophile of the highest order, capable of surviving even the vacuum of space, and all stages are able to enter hibernation almost indefinitely and rapidly emerge even after millenia, and of living that long naturally. They're pretty much immortal. Its blood is green and extremely corrosive to the point of melting through thick steel, has no need to eat, sleep or breathe, is seemingly telepathic within the species, and their hyper adaptability leads to immense dimorphism even within generations! By selecting for the victims, xeno types can come in any species under any sun, but noticeable ones include blood hounds, sea serpents, bat winged, the standard humanoid with increased intelligence capable of tactics and strategy, panthers, spiders, acid spitters, triceratops and more! Not even getting into the caste system!!

Xeno hybrids are usually pretty unhealthy, but work arounds could be found in the dc universe. Perhaps shape shifting or heavy duty illusions if you don't want to split the bodies entirely. The dark, dingy, often cramped city of Gotham is an ideal place for a xenomorph nest - there's canonically several old alien bunkers and nests and what have you left over from previous invasions.

There were several cut bits in movies (and not cut bits in some comics I believe) of people stuck in the hive, quite literally turning into hive material even. And well, Bruce fell down in the caves at one point. Who knows if maybe there's bits still in his blood, and then well, exposure to the Lazarus pits (either the one under Gotham or the LOA's or even both) could honestly cause a reaction.

Or maybe he was always a hybrid, maybe his parents couldn't have kids for some reason and either made a test tube baby with a bit of extra stuff or they found him in a pod in their yard a la Kent style.

Oh it's a good question on if the xenos are an established species. It'd be fun if they were, even if it's like, thought to be extinct or only on one or two planets heavily regulated. All the GL and aliens are definitely freaking out while Supes is just ??? He's my friend, a grumpy dude sure, but he's chill. Promised to murder me if I go evil which is great!

OH perhaps they have bands or something that forms an illusion for fully human form or something. Maybe they eventually develop the ability to fully change into a xeno, who knows lol. Gosh I love the idea of Alfred being just a normal highly competent dude scolding these very deadly creaturs about manners and them listening. Sure his son and grandchildren aren't human but that's not going to stop him.

Absolutely adore the idea of Bruce going from drone to warrior to praetorian to queen/king over time. Also love the idea of them all fucking with the goons and being terrifying.

Clark the humanoid alien who grows up with loving parents in privacy and safety and the guiding hand of his predecessor vs Bruce the monstrous alien who's traumatised by the loss of his parents, constantly under public and media scrutiny, under a kill/flee on sight rule and wanted extinct across the universe by even the kindest race, absolutely no guiding hand or prior knowledge of his own biology.

And they're best friends and feel the other is the only one they can trust with the true extent of their alienness.

Bruce, rooting through a cupboard for Alfred's secret gun compartment: well, the exception proves the rule. Nothing unusal about a human killing another human in Gotham. What are they going to do about Bruce Wayne shooting the Joker - procesute me?

What if b is the only full blood xeno from birth and the kids mothers just get contaminated (or attacked by genetically dodgy face huggers) and the dna fuses with them in the womb? And they get progressively more xeno on their tenth birthday (which is around the time they get taken in)? So for ages b thinks he's some sort of radioactive xeno dna infection until Alfred smacks him up the head and reminds him he's been exposed to Bruce all his life and he's perfectly fine. Not to mention the other kids he went to school all day with.

Xenos being used as attack dogs in the Martian apocalypse 👀 poor jonn! Fortunately or unfortunately, his races shape-shifting ability got just a tiny bit copied by the xeno to allow a descendant to hide amongst humans. (?)

Oh my gosh what if the folder is what first gets him into investigating and figuring stuff out. Like that's what starts him solving crimes and such because like, even if people don't like xenomorphs, they still let all this happen?? Like innocents died from those hunts and experiments and that really distresses him.

What if, like when the Waynes first found him he looked almost entirely xenomorph but instincts plus the shapeshifting kicked in so over several weeks shifted to a more human looking form? Like his instincts are screaming to hide, which in most xenomorph's case would be literal but for something that can shapeshift is more time to try and mimic surrounding creatures.

I want to say Bruce is like, 95 to 98% xenomorph with a bit of other things taking up the rest of his DNA sequence including human and whatever his queen-mother happened to have. And/or he may have bitten his human parents for blood to copy in his human form.

I love the accidental mirroring of Bruce & Clark. The temptation to draw something for this is unreal lol

Love the idea of Bruce just being like, "Alfred where's the guns I need them, no one is going to care if the Joker dies tonight-" Probably has Clark help watch the kids so he can't stop him (Like Clark did in canon) Honestly yeah, no one would care if Wayne did, like the police probably straight up went, yep, the Joker slipped on a banana, that's how he died, definitely. If people send him flowers and gift baskets that's no one elses problems.

Gosh I love the idea of J'onn being so wary about Bruce and traumatized, but just, slowly learning to trust him and eventually managing to befriend each other. Oh my god one of the few things that can cause a xenomorph to back off is fire but martians can't use fire because they're terrified and weak to it as well. That was probably a massacre on both sides.

O h, no one besides Diana and Clark are probably aware of Bruce's kids for the longest time because the others are so untrusting of him. Several already say some rather... rude things about him and he doesn't want to expose his kids to that. Which probably isn't helping the suspicion from the others when he keeps leaving early to take care of said kids...
