My four main characters' dynamics if you were ever wondering 🥰

Little character bios + without text below the cut :)

Preface: There's 9 different planets in my AU, and each of them has different kinds of humanoids(ex. Neptune has bird-people, Mercury has dragon-people, Pluto has cat-people, Neptune has mammal-people, etc.) Most of my ocs are from Neptune or Pluto, cause I like them best haha. Each planet has their own forms of hierarchies/discrimination, so that's important to consider with character dynamics. So for example on Neptune, people who are pure-breds(so basically wild animals in their "original" form. Wolves, tigers, deer, etc, too many to name) are considered more noble. Whereas there are ubiquitous "dogs," traditionally the servants of Neptune's god, who are seen as typically being servile and lesser. But then if you were to travel to a different planet, you would be SO lost about these kinds of dynamics. I talked a lot more about my two main ships in these posts, Eclipoir here and Rünoir here !!

My main four OCs seen here are the DHE and Eclipse. The DHE are a friend group/unit, who met through being scouted for the god of Neptune's espionage/black ops unit. They are comprised of:

Anastassia "Rüß" Petrov - (the main leader of the operation, very tough but intelligent. She was scouted from Siberia and grew up very poor. She is a womanizer, loves money, and she was originally very standoffish but is now extremely charasmatic, and seems to know everybody. However she is a dog, but the complete opposite of what a dog is expected to be. Which is why she was scouted to be the leader in the first place!! She was originally more undercover, but now kinda functions as the handler to Noir's attack dog. She preferred to work alone before, but came to appreciate the team dynamic.)

Noir Mono-Loup -(Nepo baby!!! She is a wolf, and is from a very rich, influential family, so she's a pedigree pedigree. She is genuinely very strong and can be analytical, but struggles to manage herself and her bloodthirsty and possessive compulsions, AND she is very prone to craving submission. So even tho societally, she's seen as higher/more noble than Rüß, Noir is perfectly happy to be her subordinate and follow orders. However, while Rüß brings out the submissive side in her, Eclipse on the other hand brings out the possessive, territorial side.)

Seren Baumstark - (The brains of the group I guess, though they're all pretty smart, in different ways. She's not from Neptune, she's from Pluto! So she doesn't really factor in to the whole weird purebred-dog dynamic the other two have going on, which is for the better because she's very peaceful and there's no expectations. Very meek compared to the other two, but chosen because of her intelligence and cooperation skills. Has her own shit going on aside from the main plot, that's more involved with the gods. The main plot with the other three mainly is fucked in its own way, but Seren is lowkey going through that Spongebob hallway meme honestly, but its kinda impossible to quickly explain.)

"Eclipse" - (from a very famous/influential family from Pluto/Neptune. However she has been disowned, as she was seen as ruining the family image with her instability....and because her mother is a terrible person who couldn't accept that her child wouldn't be the heir of the family. She has a very codependent relationship with Noir, however they were separated for many years because Noir is technically the reason she was ultimately disowned, though she's pretty grateful for that. She's an assassin, who Noir is trying to track down, not knowing its Eclipse.)

I have like three seperate time periods I jump between, so it's a bit confusing I think. The first would be when it was just Noir and Rüß, since Seren came in later. Noir was very annoying and puppylike, and Rüß at that point was super cold. Rünoir(Rüß x Noir) are FwB with a very dom/sub relationship/dynamic. The second would be when Seren is now with them, and when Noir first meets Eclipse(she saved her from being kidnapped, and that's where their codependency began.) And the third would be when Eclipoir(Eclipse x Noir) are finally fully reunited, and not at odds anymore, and the DHE are now in different roles, but still best friends.

poolverine is one of the MANY xmen ships that has eaten at my brain of late, and now u indulge me with asking abt them???? YOU my friend are the delicious one. i will do my best to make this a reasonable length and also understandable.

ok here are our players: you have deadpool aka wade winston wilson and you have wolverine aka logan.

wade is a vigilante who started as a hitman. he has basically no morals except for his soft spot for abused children as he was one himself. he talks to much and copes with immense amounts of trauma via humour. he harbours a need to be needed + also a slight hero's complex but has been rejected from every cool and reputable superhero team there is (on account of the no morals). but, occasionally saves his dramatically and heroically saves his loved ones and more recently, the entire universe. wade has stage four terminal cancer but also the ability to rapidly regenerate his cells, thus, he not only is constantly surviving his cancer, but literally anything else. severed arm? no problem. body full of bullets? sure, give him like 30 seconds.

logan is 200 years old and has fought in literally every war ever. he is deeply traumatised (see: every war ever) and considers himself no hero, preferring his whole 'im a lone wolf i need no team' ideal. unlike wade, he IS a foundational member of one of the coolest superhero groups; the x-men, though he is adamant that he doesn't care for the team or actually want to be part of it (see: lone wolf, deeply troubled). like wade, logan can regenerate from almost anything. he has a near-indestructible metal welded to his skeleton as a result of a crazy scientist, metal claws that protract like a kitty cat's, and generally wolf-like instincts. these abilities are on account of him being a 'mutant'.

mutants are born with/have developed special genetic mutations (like claws or regeneration or laser eyes, etc). they are, generally, hated in this world. if the x-men series does one thing right, it makes for a wonderful analogy on fear-based discrimination on account of human differences (being a queer person and an x-man fan is not for the faint of heart, man). mutants and humans are constantly pitted against each other. groups like the x-men try to bridge the difference by proving they are not dangerous but only trying to live regular lives without having to hide. you can guess how well this goes (not at all well).

i hope you're with me so far.

now, logan eventually ends up (spoiler alert!) dying despite his healing factor by sacrificing himself very heroically and tragically - proved to be the x-man he always claimed he wasn't. he is remembered as a hero, THE x-man, etc. wade, not accepted into the x-men, has this one sided beef with dead-200yrs old-superhero logan.

cut to years later. wade has given up his vigilante/hero ways on account of all the rejection and everyone's disbelief that he could ever actually save the world/do anything remotely serious and genuinely heroic. however, all of wade's loved ones will die if he can't save the world this time. no one trusts he can actually do it, but it's all down to him. uh oh! dilemma! even worse? wade needs logan to save the world. logan who is still super dead, which isn't very helpful.

fear not! multiverse! long story short wade searches a bunch of parallel universes until he finds A logan that might work with him. unfortunately for the both of them, he ends up teaming up with who is known as the 'worst wolverine'. if logan from wade's timeline was traumatised, this guy's on a whole other level. worst!logan is responsible for the death of all the x-men in his universe, those who he definitely loved but refused to show he did - preferring to be an angry alcoholic over any kind of hero. if original!logan had few morals, this guy has none. he's not a nice guy. but that's okay, wade isn't really one either.

the fun dynamic we now have at play is: wade, not a hero, wants to be a hero, needs to be a hero but can't be. logan, a hero in literally every other universe, refuses outright to be one. both: sad. both: also capable of regenerating no matter what. both: with anger issues and violent tendencies and can be stabbed by the other a million times and never sustain lasting physical damage. aka: your match made in heaven. wade needs logan to become a hero to save all his loved ones. logan's loved ones are all fuckin' dead, why should he care? the parallels are beautiful and unending.

in the film that has just come out, the whole thing is basically a gay sex metaphor where they stab each other a bunch and definitely fall in love a bit (a lot), ending with worst!logan leaving his own timeline to permanently join wade's (which they did successfully save after they BOTH make the hero play and sacrifice themselves for each other yet both managing to survive). in the fics that have since further developed this dynamic, you see a lot of two men who have never known kindness or gentleness in their lives learn that they have to be slightly gentle bc they're both traumatised and unloved af (but also, not too gentle, they're both literally indestructible). and of course, you get some really delicious and artfully grotesque smut because they both have massive pain kinks and are, again, indestructible.

and that's the gist! logan generally can be shipped with quite literally anybody on account of the fact that he is a canonical whore and also the whole x-men team is a disaster of homoerotic relationships. however worst!logan x wade has a very special place in my heart.

i had so much fun with this. even if you read none of this, i thank you anyway for asking. everyone in my real life is sick of me talking about my silly little superheroes.

and fig, if you ever wanted to delve into the realm of tragic gay superhero ships, i recommend something called 'stucky'. it has nothing to do with the x-men but good god does it have the same brilliant awful-ness of wolfstar. i can make a whole seperate post about that some other time.

I will forever be the biggest fan for omega x omega ships. Especially with these dynamics of protective rebel omega x traumatized omega ( Could sprinkle in some yandere-like traits to it for my yandere trope lovers)

Like, in an ABO world where it's the norm where Alpha is the top and feel entitled to an omega. Alpha x Alpha is against the norm, too, but Alphas is privileged enough to have wealth and power. While the Omegas are often discriminated against, they are always put into lower job positions and low earning opportunities. So, having a more rebellious or dominant omega to say f that and fall in love with another omega. Having them try to make their relationships work in a system that doesn't care or approve of their pairing. It's just so, ughhhhhhhhhh yessss plssssss. *banging head on table* ( Bonus point if the yandere omega manage to overpower and get rid of the Dominant-trait Alpha, that was trying to get in between the omegaxomega relationship)

Okay, don’t shoot me but it IS hypocritical to get upset at people antagonizing Jayvik shippers as racists then generalize Meljay shippers as xenophobic.

Turning this into a matter of “us versus them” instead simply speaking against the toxic behavior you’ve seen is just adding fuel to the fire imo.

Are there rotten people in Mel and Meljay spaces that deserve to be called out? Yes! And there are many people in those spaces denouncing that behavior.

Additionally that doesn’t erase the fact that some are using this issue as an excuse to say racist and insensitive things towards black Americans in particular and take things out of context to justify their actions. And might I point out, no one has the time or energy to keep up with every bit of fandom drama. What character or ship people like isn’t a political affiliation.

Disclosure: I’ve been guilty of this myself, I’ll admit but I do actively try not to group people together in my head just because I’ve had negative experiences with a toxic subset.

Side note: most Meljay fans bring up the fact that they are POC x POC because some people try to say Meljay “just another boring het ship” and ignore the fact that interracial relationships, with a black woman, between two people of color is in fact, a rare representation.

Saying that you don’t think Meljay fans really care about Jayce and disregard his Latino identity sounds awfully similar to accusing Jayvik fans of being responsible for racist stereotypes against Jayce… yknow, something you spoke against a while back?

I’m not trying to pick a fight but these are my honest thoughts.

𝙎𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚𝙝𝙤𝙜 — Main fandom for as long as I can remember. Sonic has been a huge part of my childhood, and the world of the adventures and colorful characters has always resonated with me. From the classics to the modern iterations, Sonic’s journey has evolved, but my love for it hasn’t faded. I particularly enjoy exploring my own Sonic AU, where I get to reshape and remix the universe with my own twist. Whether it’s the Sonic games, comics, or the shows, I’m always up for a conversation about Sonic. My favorite Sonic characters have to be Shadow, Silver, Espio, Knuckles, Rouge, Amy, Surge, and Kitsunami. I'm also in love with the rarepair of Knuckles and Espio (Loves Knuxpio trust!)

𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 — Second main fandom, which I’ve gotten more deeply into over time. Demon Slayer’s art style, powerful battles, and deeply developed characters pulled me in, especially the Hashira and their personalities. I’m all about the emotional growth and the deep lore of demons vs. demon slayers, and I even have my own Demon Slayer OC that I love sharing with my friends. My favorite characters being Inosuke, Kanao, Shinobu, Kanae, Mitsuri, Tengen, Gyutaro and Yuichiro.

𝙈y 𝙃ero 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙖 — I’ve been into MHA for a while, but it’s more of a somewhat fandom for me as I've been on and off about it. I’m drawn to the character development and how the story highlights the struggles of becoming a hero or villain. The dynamic relationships, quirks, and the depth of the heroes’ and villains’ backstories, especially Toga's...

𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙚 — A Somewhat fandom, I’ve recently returned to it and I’m remembering why I loved it so much. The charm of the characters, the deep emotional connections, and the unique take on morality through choices are a huge draw for me. I’m always fascinated by the fan theories and the countless AUs people have created. Even after a break, I find myself pulled back into the world of the Underground and its characters. I love the creativity and depth of this fandom, and I’m excited to share my own Undertale Au I have planned in the future.

𝙎𝙈𝙂𝟰 — A fandom I recently got into around the summer. SMG4 has such a unique blend of humor, wacky antics, and references that just keep me hooked. I'm still quite new to the fandom and not sure of everything quite yet...But I know The Smg4's and Smg3's characters go deeper rhan what's on the surface, especially Smg3's as he is a complex character I like exploring and possibly the most relateable.

Au's

𝙎𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙐𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙤𝙨 𝘼𝙐 — Currently undergoing planning

Sonic Boom: Summer Synergy — This AU is a fun, summer spin-off where Sonic and the gang spend their summer on Seaside Island (or Bygone Island). With the return of Tails’ faternal twin sister Valentine, there are plenty of adventures and moments of self-discovery. The gang enjoys a laid-back vibe, but there's still plenty of chaos, especially when it comes to Valentine’s job of expanding Seaside Island. It’s a mix of slice-of-life and adventure, and as the season goes on, deeper stories start to emerge.

𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙚: 𝙈𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙙𝙮𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚 — W.I.P/Ongoing planning phase. In the world of MelodyTale, a corrupted player has hijacked Frisk’s body, causing the cycle of resets to spiral out of control. This player-turned-virus has relentlessly reset the world over 100 times, causing the destruction of all life in the Underground with no end in sight. The determination coursing through the player's essence has erased Chara from existence, leaving the monsters of the Underground helpless.To counter this destructive force, W.D. Gaster, working with a hacker, creates Melody—an anomaly made of both human and monster traits. Her mission is clear: save the world and restore balance. However, she is created without emotions, making her a cold and hollow being driven solely by her purpose. Over time, she begins to question what it means to live and discover her own identity. MelodyTale explores themes of autonomy, identity, and personal growth in the face of overwhelming odds. As Melody ventures through the chaotic world, she strives to uncover what makes her truly human and ultimately decides if she can rise above the mission programmed into her.

Oc's

𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧: 𝙈𝙞𝙠𝙖 𝙐𝙯𝙪𝙞 — Mika Uzui is a 14-year-old Demon Slayer, niece of Tengen Uzui, trained under the guidance of Kanae and Shinobu. Mika wields the Dance of Flora Dreaming Breathing Style, which combines her love of dance and nature. With a peaceful and ethereal appearance, she is a gentle yet powerful warrior who uses her agility and grace to defeat demons. Mika has a deep bond with her family, especially her Uncle Tengen, whom she adores despite his tendency to spoil her. As a demon slayer, she carries a strong sense of duty but also embraces the beauty of life and nature. Mika’s journey is also one of self-discovery as she navigates her emotional growth while trying to protect those she loves.

𝙈𝙃𝘼: 𝘼𝙩𝙨𝙪𝙠𝙤 𝙄𝙠𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙖 — Atsuko Ikishima is a student at U.A. High School with a kind and reserved personality. She is known for her ability to use her emotions as her powers, her quirk know as Emotice burst, making her an extremely empathetic individual. Atsuko is fiercely loyal to her friends but struggles with expressing her own emotions. While she's quiet and introspective, she can be sassy and humorous when comfortable, especially around those she trusts. She is also an active volunteer, spending time at a children’s center where she is affectionately called "Big Sis." Atsuko is a reliable and trustworthy friend who values authentic connections and supports those she cares for. She’s also quite the sharp-witted strategist, using her mind in and out of battle.

Vee’s Universe is a ever-expanding realm where the boundaries of reality and imagination dissolve, allowing characters and stories to grow, evolve, and interact in limitless ways. It was created by Vee (unknowingly) as a place where she could bring all her original characters (OCs) together and give them a space to explore their desires, fears, and ambitions. Here, every character has their own unique background, desires, and personality, and the possibilities are endless, This place being guarded by Veeah, The guardian of vee's creations. Vee’s Universe functions as both a sanctuary and a playground for her creations, offering them a place to thrive without the constraints of typical storytelling. This universe bends the laws of physics, time, and space to suit the needs of every narrative, allowing different worlds to collide and merge in creative and unexpected ways. While also being mirrior between worlds where Vee and/or her creations can travel to the different sub relems. Vee’s Universe connects to various dimensions, allowing for characters to meet and interact with OCs from different realms. Characters may travel between worlds.

Vee is the creator and also one of the central characters of this universe. As an embodiment of the infinite potential of imagination, she exists outside of the typical laws of the world. She can shape and manipulate the environment of the universe, create new characters, and breathe life into any scenario she wishes. Though she is powerful, Vee is not omnipotent, and she often faces personal challenges as she tries to balance the needs and desires of the characters in her universe with her own goals. Vee’s Universe isn’t limited to her own creations. Characters from other AUs and OCs may appear from time to time, offering new perspectives and challenges to the inhabitants of the universe. As Vee’s Universe continues to evolve, new realms and possibilities are continuously crafted. The boundaries are limitless, and the stories within this universe are constantly unfolding. Vee’s Universe will continue to adapt and grow with its characters.

And anyways yes?? I love BartyLily!! But i had to search up this song lyric, so I don't get the exact vibe you mean but I've read the lyrics!! I'll just wordvomit everything I think about them. It'll be messy btw. The summary is that it's a good ship and they CAN be good for each other. The fact that Lily is a muggle born and a girl, there's a lot of discrimination and stereotypes she faces but it only pushes her to work harder to defy those expectations. She's the star student, a prefect, the head girl, a teacher's pet, getting full marks on everything, always has her work done, always answering questions and getting points for her house. She's commonly found in the library studying, or in the common room studying, or in her room studying.

And she's burning out. She keeps declining her friend's hangouts to study because if she falls behind even once, she'll lose her spot. She's losing friendships and she doesn't even have any other hobbies, there's nothing helping her destress. At some point, she did love studying but with the pressure she places on herself and the responsibilities she took, it felt like a duty now.

Barty absolutely despises his father. He wants to be nothing like him. Everything he does or does to himself, it's to make his father disappointed in him, he's a rebel to his core. This meant constantly missing classes, failing tests, grades, getting detentions from misbehaving, getting into fights. He thrives in pain, from hidden tattoos to piercings and purposely getting himself beaten up. He builds himself a reputation that's a complete opposite from Lily.

But he's losing himself. It all started with wanting to rebel against his father but now he feels like he's turning into some violent animal, still not his father but worse than him. He's getting too quick to anger and violence, too addicted. His friends are either used to him being so destructive or he himself completely iced them out when they were genuinely worried for him, telling him he has to see what he was becoming.

Now I have no idea how they meet, like really meet. Maybe Lily is having a breakdown because of academic pressure and all, goes to an isolated spot and oh look who's here, Barty that's slacking off because this is his usual smoking spot or whatever. Lily is too tired from her breakdown to tell him off about the smoking or not being in class. Barty isn't really himself because one of his closest friends just dropped him (Pandora, definitely would stick with him longest) because of his spiraling behavior.

Anyway, so their defenses are at the lowest here?? Their sharp edges are softened or something. Does Barty offer his cigarette to a girl that looks like she clearly needs it or does Lily take the first step and ask for one with her Gryffindor bravery?

Barty is a little curious about her. He's smoking with Lily Evans. She obviously has a reputation as the smartest witch of their school. A goody two shoes. Lily is curious of him too. He's already famous for being a bad company, the school's bad boy if you will but all he did was offer/give a cigarette and just smoke with her quietly. Their perception of each other from what they've heard contrasts with what they're seeing. Of course they're curious.

Then Lily keeps seeking him out. Because this was the first time she broke rules, didn't get caught, and pretty much nothing else happened to her. It was exhilarating, she forgot about school for a second and she wants that feeling more. (Not the smoking, the rule breaking).

And Barty is just desperate for normal human interactions since he pretty much has no friends now. So he lets her keep coming. It convinces him that he's not a monster, not yet at least. Otherwise she wouldn't be seeking him out so much.

Maaybee one time Barty didn't bring his pack? Maybe they're just skipping classes together now? In silence first but after some reluctant conversation, they're fully talking? Getting to know each other now? Maybe Barty offers to "get out of here" so now they're off campus? Rule breaking together?

I have no idea what they do off campus but it's rule breaking, so Lily is hella excited. They could just be at a park, chilling because the other things Barty usually does (eg, vandalism) is too much for Lily, the chronic rule follower. So Barty tones it down.

Maybeee they can't always hang out during classes. Maybe they're craving each other's company because they're literal loners. Maybe Barty is joining Lily in her study sessions at the library, because what else can he do? He can't disturb her. Maybe at some point, Lily is tutoring Barty? Because he's so far behind?

When she's tutoring Barty, she's going over old material. She's studying but it doesn't feel like a burden anymore because she's doing it for Barty, which she isn't even pressured to do. She likes these tutoring sessions.

Plus the fact that Barty is naturally smart so it's not frustrating her. He picks things up easily, he's catching up, his grades are visibly improving even though he doesn't care. He cares when Lily is praising him for his grades.

They're bonding, they don't even remember what made them so angsty. Barty stopped being violent because all he does is spend time studying or skipping class with Lily. Lily stopped panicking and breaking down because the whole "proving herself" shit doesn't matter when she's studying or skipping class with Barty. They feel like themselves again.

There's definitely stolen kisses at the library or hook ups in the bathroom stalls or at restaurants. They do develop an intimate relationship at some point.

And thennnnn Lily is being pulled aside by a concerned McGonagall because her grades have been dropping and she's been neglecting her prefect/head girl duties or maybe she sees a pure blood take her first place at the end of the year and hears demeaning comments for it. Then Barty Senior is saying how proud he is because Barty stopped getting into detentions and his grades have been improving until he was actually a high achiever.

It's a violent whiplash and they realize the other is a bad influence. Being told "I'm proud of you" by your father was the same as becoming him and it disgusted Barty. Hearing those discriminating comments made Lily realize what all her effort was about, and she's kicking herself for ever forgetting.

And they break up!! But it's okay cause they're a fundamental part of each other's growth!! Barty isn't just a violent kid anymore, no longer self destructive!! Lily now knows how to take a breather every now and then!! And then they get their friends back!! Because Lily makes time for them and Barty isn't spiraling!! Happy ending!! :3

Apparently the final chapter of BNHA was released and I saw the salt flow over on X with everyone whining their OTP didn't came true and being nasty and upset with Horikoshi.

Honestly it was quite entertaining to scroll through the posts of everyone being upset that a fictional ship they liked didn't came true. I'm happy that I don't have problems with things like this.

I'm rolling with laughter over the political aspect of it. The same radical leftists who'd consider the Meta Liberation Army freedom fighters and human rights activists akin to Antifa and BLM are upset that most of the heroes lived while most of the villains died.

I get it. I understand that a lot of the villains were abused children with sad backstories who are easy to empathize with. I get that the crusty ghoul walking corpse Big Bad loved his friends and didn't mean to murder his family when he was grade school aged. Unfortunately, he did mean to murder the countless people since, and it was for the best that he was eventually obliterated in the same way he murdered others. That way, he doesn't stew in an underwater prison for decades becoming a risk of perpetuating the All for One cycle. There's a bastard who should have got the death penalty right away, but then there wouldn't be much of a story.

I haven't seen much of the leaked stuff except what they posted on the Dabi tag. There are conspiracy theories floating around that it's a fake leak. We'll see maybe what? December 4th?

I get the heroes weren't perfect, -especially Endeavor- but I just saw someone compare them to cops, and that's just INSANE. Leftists are completely bonkers. Seriously, I wish there was a way to convey that sentiment to the Asian fans if only to clear my name because one of them accused me of harassing Asian fans on a site I wasn't even on. After doing research, I found a post from a timid Korean girl who was scared into deleting her ReDestro x (Various People) Old Man Yaoi after antishipper harassment. She had this to say:

Because of this, the region I live in suffers from inadequate sex education and severe gender discrimination. As a result, I impose strict self-censorship on my works. I consider myself an anti-shipper when it comes to my creations. I aim to ensure that my work does not negatively affect minors or mentally immature adults. Since the government and society offer insufficient protection for minors, I believe I should provide at least a minimal level of protection on an individual level.

However, I have also studied the laws and discourses of other nations. I know of countries with relatively less gender discrimination and fewer restrictions on creative works.

In such places, sexuality is not something to be wholly repressed, as long as it occurs consensually and without infringing on individual freedoms—this is only natural and often supported by education. This is the key difference.

What if a poor orphan girl received financial support from an unknown man? (Daddy-Long-Legs). What if, in an era where adultery was a grave sin, a woman who committed adultery sought to repent and rebuild a dignified life? (The Scarlet Letter).

Countless what ifs exist in the world. Perspectives that were acceptable in the past may become controversial today, and vice versa. What we consider acceptable is fluid and shaped by societal phenomena.

Due to the influence of my society, I am an anti-shipper for myself. However, I respect and support the artistic activities of creators who are pro-shippers in different cultural contexts. In this way, I am simultaneously a pro-shipper.

Now, I’d like to ask you: Are you a pro-shipper or an anti-shipper? Does the society you live in uphold proper values, ethics, and morals?

Can you help me understand? Why's MHA so bad with discrimination? It's embarrassing how bad it is!

Sorry about sitting on this ask for months but I wanted to get everything in order cause this is a long one!

MHA fence sitting on injustices

My hero tries so very cutely so solve injustices in it's media and does it poorly by having it either happen offscreen or barely addressing it to actually try fixing later. (More under read more)

Things ended so perfectly for the mutants, and all because Shoji told the mutants fighting injustice that they should...stop. Oh shoji, we should talk about his character and the treatment of him and hor Hori just skims the issues with mutant treatment.

A little background, Shoji here literally has no character, it's so bad to the point Hori didn't know how to design his room with the excuse of "Oh I don't have many worldy desires."

what kid talks like this? He doesn't even have training gear or extra mask, or any hero posers- pretty easy to say that hori just didn't have anything planned for a while. Which fair, he had a whole cast of students from two classes, and pro and teachers so...fine right? What was weird is the lack of characterization for several seasons with this character.

So it turns out he wears the mask cause he was heavily scarred and attacked by a mod of adult prejudices as his backstory, didn't want to talk about it nor mention it till it was relevant for him to fight for the side of injustice! He mentions kids being murdered for having mutant DNA! And at first Hori is making a good point here that prejudice is real, there are people who murder, belittle, and treat very real people horribly for the ways they look.

(They also apparently talk about this once and...that's it? as a POC person it's never just ONCE, X-men brings it up very well that fence sitting is not acceptable if you care about the lives of mutants, you can't be passive on injustice!)

This is a very sympathetic and relatable bit of characterization- so its embarrassing that Horikoshi uses it to justify said prejudices...Oho I can't wait to explain this one!

Setting writing back 30 years.

At some point in the future Shoji, again the character who barely gets to express himself as a character? Fights spinner, a character similar to him as that he's a mutant and gets very little screentime and engagement in the show/manga. Spinner is told multiple times he's useless and stupid and even one of his allies in Dabi calls him what the MHA mutant KKK call him. A lizard.

"But Dabi's a villain." I'd probably hear people say- Yeah...so were the KKK, doesn't mean you can't be prejudice, and Dabi here shares said prejudice attitude towards mutants that many of our heroes do.

His brother calls the chief of police a mutt after they break some major laws that could of gotten them killed, and later he even sees that this officer (even tho we don't stan pigs here!) was helping them and he even states he thinks he should apologize...guess the did that offscreen, like they do everything.

Shinso calls Ojiro a monkey and yet people ship them, idk how much they look cute together I wouldn't ship anyone with a person calling me outside my name. Now do I think they're full on prejudice? No but they shouldn't also get to let this slide because people like them. (Would of been nice to let Ojiro beat Shinso in a spar as recompense.) but Hori loves letting most of it slide, no one calls out Shinso, Dabi or his brother and tells them to chill. Even Deku gets in on some fence sitting.

This tall woman's getting attacked by heavily armed citizens with support weapons in her introduction- Deku jumps in and tells them to calm down, with them walking away saying the below. Like she can change that.

Now this is a great way to show that prejudice is wrong and that Deku doesn't jive with that shit. I would of had Deku break their support gear, and tell them to find shelter instead of taking matters into their own hands and attacking indiscriminately.

But Deku lets them walk away with deadly weapons that can kill. And when the tall woman tells him that she was trying to find safety and that she was scared by these jackasses, Deku doesn't sympathize with her- he says this!

This poorly worded drivel reads exactly how it does on the page, it comes across as justification for the public attacking innocent mutants based on looks instead of telling them that they were in the wrong? She even gets turned away from many other shelters denying mutants!

I'm aware that many villains attacking heroes at this point ARE mutants but, she's unarmed, begging them to stop, and a guy lines up a killshot before blaming her for how she looks; then our hero goes "Well we're all scared!" Thanks!

That's like me telling X-men's nightcrawler who was about to be murdered by racist. "Well both sides were scared." This is the ultimate fence sitting! Not to mention it's established early on that mutants aren't allowed in certain shops and get slurs and rocks thrown at them; people assume the worst of them and there are even times where some are confused for villains and attacked like Gang orca.

But if you're an attractive enough mutant like Hawks and Miruko you can get away with being a mutant- it's the equivalent of Hollywood saying they'll hire more black people and only hiring the light skinned black individuals. Which could be an interesting discussion to have; The fertilization of mutant quirks, desirable ones vs ones that people show hate towards. Obviously people don't show the same type of prejudices towards Hawks and Miruko vs Shoji and Orca.

This all culminates into the MHA war arc in which many out of pocket things happen, like Hori uses the black lives matter movement and ROCK LOCK- THE ONLY BLACK HERO IN MHA (there's not even any black students and background heroes.) And the mutants turn to him and say things like "we aren't looters" WHAT!? And even worst

"You would never understand." A black person would never understand prejudice? Even if MHA was an idealize world, it's based off our own world and rock lock again is the only one, and them turning to him and saying this comes off as tone deaf. Like why rock lock? How many heroes have glue, tape and adhesive powers that could of had this scene? Not saying I don't want Rock lock, I'm saying having a black person be told they don't get prejudice based on how they look is....idiotic.

And it just gets worse! Shoji finally gets screentime to tell people to stop fighting against injustice.

He finally gets something and it's to tell spinner to stop fighting mutants getting slaughtered, to stop letting heroes and the police sit on their hands and do nothing- everyone knows that if you wanna be good second class citizens and get equality, you have to wait patiently and quietly till people deem you good enough to EARN it.

He does talk about the cycle of violence, but the problem is....hori never has a person like Todoroki or Deku turn towards regular people and tell them that THEY should be ashamed of how they treat mutants as well.

It's so easy to turn towards marginalized people radicalized into fighting against prejudice, but man is it on so hard to turn to the people being shitty and not saying a damn thing! My hero does this so poorly, the people who hurt mutants never have to address their prejudices and they never get called out, or are made to change out of kindness- they just get away with it.

And it ends again as we see at the beginning of this post- offscreen! Shoji brings peace to many mutant locations and we're just supposed to be fine with no one putting in effort but the mutants themselves.

It's the biggest fence sitting the series does, completely putting the onus of change on the mutants! It's a shame too, cause MHA had potential! But it'll end up as a series that just barely involves itself in the struggle and many mutant characters barely get to grow and prove anything.

You probably already answered something like this, but what do you about the Naruto and Sasuke ship? You think it doesn't work, or Naruto isn't actually a good fit for Sasuke? I love a lot of the analysis and the way you write, so I'm curious.

I did write something about them here, so you might want to look into that, I don't focus much on the SNS dynamic inside the manga and I might do that at some point (there's a lot of ground to cover) as the relevant points repeat themselves quite constantly throughout their interactions.

You need to take into account how Naruto interacts with the notion of "prodigy" in order to understand his approach towards Sasuke and how his acknowledgment became of utmost importance to him, as such is the basis of their relationship:

Regarding Naruto’s characterization, antagonizing the "prodigy" notion is incredibly important to him, not because he (truly) denies the strength of those who are given the title, but because their existence denies him of the acknowledgment he seeks, as all his accomplishments are "overshadowed" by Neji and Sasuke's sole presence. Therefore being recognized (positively so) by their ninja skills (as such is the political and cultural importance of such aspects inside the Shinobi system) is, to him, the most important category when pointing out a person’s value. To Naruto (and a big portion of the fandom) Neji is not considered a failure (unlike himself, Hinata, or Lee) therefore he somehow has an easier life despite being, in every other manner, oppressed by his family. This is a mindset Konoha in itself teaches to its citizens as this dogma’s value rests on the fact that it guarantees the success and preservation of the status quo established. Therefore, for Will of Fire supporters, Sasuke couldn’t be discriminated against because he was praised for his techniques/was popular, Neji might be a slave but he’s incredibly valuable to Konoha due to his strength, so there is some sort of “retribution”.

Naruto is contemplating Sasuke abandoning him and Team 7, which is the primary fuel in this quest and the reason behind his pain, he mentions the team that Shikamaru gathered (per Tsunade’s orders) to bring him back as these are individuals that put their life on the line to “rescue” Sasuke, yet Sasuke cares not. Naruto’s words are not a coincidence, he never states that the people searching for him are Sasuke’s friends (they aren’t, they never interacted in any significant way), the only thing they have in common is their village of origin and loyalty. For Naruto, that’s enough for a bond, for Sasuke it isn’t. I do believe that this specific claim: “You think I’m just gonna let you go?!” which is the culmination of Naruto’s speech about how Orochimaru will grant him power in exchange for his life (x) is understandable as Naruto is both hurt by Sasuke abandoning them and scared for his friend’s life (Sasuke is even leaving despite being aware that he’ll be likely killed, which is quite worse as not only Naruto feels pain as a result of his only friend escaping, but also him leaving to certain death). Naruto’s primary knowledge about Sasuke’s goal (killing Itachi) is that he’s willing to die for it (x) that, in regards to Naruto’s own goal, it’s unfathomable –as death is not one of the lengths Naruto is prepared for in order to get the acknowledgment he seeks. Furthermore, Sasuke’s death will automatically jeopardize his own objective, as Sasuke’s recognition is the one Naruto craves the most (here and here Naruto remembers Sasuke denying Naruto the equal status he wants, and Sasuke once again refuses: “who cares what you want?”). “You were my Idol, and so… hearing that… I was never happier, with those words, for the first time… you acknowledged I was good.” (x) Can’t make it clearer here Sasuke’s relevance on Naruto’s life and the importance of him staying, of him acknowledging Naruto.

Ok into the IzuOcha ask: I bet you have come across ships where "this girl deserve better" not sure if you read naruto but sasusaku is canon aka sasuke x sakura. Now, some fans of hers (all of them) say she is a poor thing and deserve better (wont enter here how untrue it is as she got her happy ending, its sasuke who is miserable) and ...I can say Izuocha can be the sasusaku of mha.

Will be canon? Sure.

Will be happy for Izu? NO. Not in canon. Not by Hori.

They had a cute meet. Sure, but it never developed more than that.

1) she calls him deku. Do I know Japanese? No. So I give a pass and maybe deku and dekiru are similar speaking. Ok. The issue here is not that...is how Ochako sees BK calling Izu deku with 100% hostility and ...head empty. Its sus. Its also not cute Izu accept the name deku.

2) she makes no attempt to know him. Grant Izu doesn't either but he does have an excuse as social cues are smth he struggles thanks to 10 years of abuse...amazing how that is smth Hori remembers to give to Izu😒

3) the LN, it paints their relationship so bad. I dont need to point out the obvious.

4) the aftermath of Ixu vs bk. Izu was punished for defending against his abuser, Iida didnt let him see his notes and treated him as a criminal...sure it was to be comical but falls flat as Iida wanted to commited murder (hated he punched Izu) byt Ochako didnt even approach Izu and asks whats up. She also blamed him. "This is a problem of both" and runs with that.

5) Mina and Aoayama have to tell her, and subsequence us, she likes Izu. Otherwise, we wouldn't guess. She made the decision to hide her feelings for Izu...and why? Is not as if she lost a big chance to win money by blushing to Izu.

6) I dont like how the girls in class A1 are taking Ocha's side here in relation to the ship. The movie where Izu meets Melissa...when Izu returns to class A1 the girls seems upset as if he did smth wrong...I find that unfair(I never saw the movie and have 0 desire to do so as BK is there. And sure that scene may have context...)

7) She never even attempt to know Izu. But she is ok in being Toga's blood bank. Togaochako may not be canon and she may have rejected Toga...but the point is not "Ochako wants to kiss Toga" is how Ochako makes no effort for Izu...but we are supposed to see her as this great love interest. In canon, she really isnt. It kills me how she makes 0 effort for Izu...didnt smile when she corned Izu with bk and others...didnt look happy to see him...but is willing to die for Toga. Like....does Izu has a love interest?

8) she called him plain...when she has a plain design. The things she says and does could have land her "mean girl" title

9)"you wont fight quirkless are you?" While I dont subscribe to "quirkless discrimination " as everyone does...I do think it makes sense for only quirked people to be heroes...so with that in mind, Ochako is somewhat saying is ok for Izu to break bones but fight quirkless is wierd? That is intersting to explore but would make her look bad...and by consequence bk and we know who Hori loves.

Not saying Ocha should do anything and everything for Izu...but this story only allows the shallow forms of "love"

I've answered an IzuOcha asked before so if you wanna take a look at that for more of an insight feel free to.

1. It actually used to irritate me that she called him Deku too BUT someone pointed out to me that Uraraka is from the Mie (?) prefecture and can tend to mix up the pronunciation of "Deku" and "Dekiru" due to her accent. So when she wants to say "Dekiru," it comes out sounding like "Dek'u." This person also said that it gives meaning to their relationship that Izuku decided to keep this name because of this and I actually do somewhat agree. I think Horiloshi's execution of this could have been better (show don't tell Hori), but I don't mind it as much as I used to.

2. I would actually say Uraraka does make a decent attempt to get to know him at least in the beginning. Sure her questions and conversations aren't super deep, but she goes out of her way to make conversation with him and get him to open up. She is only 15/16 too after all so I give her a lot of grace.

3. For my own sanity, I choose to ignore the light novels. If I read them I'll come out disliking 98% of the characters🙂

4. Yes this... Isn't great for either Iida or Uraraka. It actually feels like flat out character regression for Iida (done for a cheap laugh). Uraraka (and all of 1A including All Might and Aizawa) has a kind of warped view on Izuku and Bakugou's relationship. I don't think she's aware that their toxic relationship goes past rivalry, probably because Izuku never says anything bad about Bakugou and doesn't open up. I'm not defending what she says here because it was wrong, but she doesn't have the full story. If she did, her reaction would be very different (she is one of the few characters that will call Bakugou out, even if it isn't as harsh as it should be). I don't even think Horikoshi himself understands the power imbalance between Izuku and Bakugou, so it makes sense that his characters don't either.

5. So Uraraka does this because she doesn't want her feelings to get in the way of becoming a good hero. It's not a bad approach to her character in theory, but Horikoshi's execution of it is horrible (which is true for most of his characters). The problem isn't necessarily that she does this, the problem is a) there was nothing leading up to her having feelings for him past admiration it just... happened, b) there's really no explanation as to how simply having/accepting her feelings would get in the way, and c) it focuses way too much on her avoiding her feelings for Izuku than her actually growing as a hero; in trying to focus her away from Izuku Hori's centering her around him even more. In another author's hands, this could have actually been a decent arc, but oh well.

6. This scene actually isn't too serious. Yaoyorozu and Jirou aren't being malicious to Izuku, they're just teasing him. And they're very nice to Melissa (so is Uraraka) and get along with her well. I don't even think Uraraka was that jealous, maybe a bit envious if anything, and she wasn't upset. The movie doesn't focus on Bakugou too much (unlike that monstrosity of a second movie) so it's not a bad watch. I enjoyed it because we learn more about All Might's time in America and Izuku's friendship with Melissa is super cute🙂

7. I think it's just a different approach to Toga and Izuku as people. I'm not saying it's wrong or right, but I am saying approaching saving them in two different ways isn't outlandish. And she did stand up for him against am angry mob so I don't think it's right to say she didn't put in effort.

8. Plain isn't really an insult. True it's not exactly nice, but I wouldn't call it mean. She also had no idea of knowing he would see that footage.

only have five fics posted, so i'll give my top three: Operation Birthday, Love Me Two Times, and She Was Straight From Hell, But You Could Never Tell.

5) do you respond to comments? why or why not?

i try to respond to every single comment, even when it's a reblog from a reader with feedback in just the tags, because i appreciate that someone took the time and effort out of their day to not only read my work but to also then tell me they liked what i poured my energy and heart into. <333 i appreciate every single one.

6) what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

hasn't been written yet, but it'll be for the conclusion to the first part of Love Me Two Times.

7) what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

most of my fics have happy endings. 😜

8) do you get hate on fics?

i haven't yet, and i don't really care if i ever do. i mainly write to indulge myself, so if someone doesn't like what i write and wants to be dramatic about it, that's a them problem.

i think i write more porn than plot, but i try to have a healthy balance of both lol. all kinds, i don't kink-discriminate.

i haven't yet but i'd never say never.

probably either She Was Straight From Hell, But You Could Never Tell (my first series so i have a soft spot for it, but i just do not have the inspiration to continue it and haven't for months) or the Kinktober vampire!Eddie fic i posted then deleted because i just... did not like it.

16) what are your writing strengths?

i like to think i'm good with descriptions, setting scenes, and getting readers immersed in the visuals of a story.

17) what are your writing weaknesses?

i can be wordy. also, i sometimes overthink characterization and probably fuck canon voices and actions up.

18) thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

if you're respectful to the culture of the language you're writing in and actually do research instead of solely relying on Google Translate, more power to you.

i think it was Harry Potter, and it was filthy Dramione. i was, like, nine.

i have so many ideas for Love Me Two Times and i'm so excited for the places i plan on taking it, so i'd have to say that one.

I ship Tom Riddle and Ginny. Because Ginny is a pure blood, Tom helps her emotionally also Ginny falling in love with Harry's enemy instead is just 'chef's kiss'. Given how Tom is very abusive and shows huge discrimination and superiority complex to mudbloods I can never ship Tomione. I ship Harry x Hermione so much.

I respect your ship but I never could ship Tom x Ginny haha. I also wasn't really into Harry x Ginny in the books. There were clues of course but I wished Rowling fleshed Ginny out more as a character. She came a bit like a mean, popular girl to me and I guess I couldn't relate to that. However, I always felt "kinship" with Hermione while I was growing up and liked her immensely. She was an inspiraton.

As for ships....I need power plays 🤷‍♀️ and Ginny was never interesting to me as a character. Tom would naturally pair up with the Hermione in my mind because they are magically and mentally at odds (while simultaneously being the most talented/gifted/geniouses of their generation).

Hermione forcing Tom's worldview to shatter and crumble is part of the allure for me. Pissy Tom that just LOATHES himself for liking a muggle born. Power hungry Hermione that LOATHES herself for wanting someone so disgustingly VILE - but Tom is the only one who can keep up with her intellect and magical pursuits.

Ginny just doesn't do it for me.

I think I could ship her with Malfoy tho 😂😭, I found one fic I liked that was (i think) inspired by Boys over flowers with Draco x Ginny as main ship.

However, I also ship Harry with Malfoy 😂🤷‍♀️.

I understand where you're coming from and yeah it's unfortunate. But I think a lot of those issues is more an after thought of what Wilson was doing at first and then the common occurrence of different comic writers mis characterizing certain characters. It was clear that Wilson was pushing Bruno as Kamala's prime love interest (unfortunately the MCU did this too,) so Bruno is her confidant because this is a super hero comic.

Nakia is very opinionated and somewhat of a cynical (or well is more like she's instantly, rightfully, suspicious of people in authority and influence.) So she has some opinions about Ms Marvel the hero, and Kamala who is very self conscious and fears being judged and disliked by her friends and community (even when her friends joke call her a "traitor" for "abandoning" them for New York it ends up hurting her a lot.) So she doesn't tell Nakia for the same reasons she doesn't tell her parents, not because she doesn't trust her, but because she's afraid her friend will hate her because she's critical of Ms Marvel. And this is a superhero comic so that creates tension and friction. A "likes Clark Kent, thinks Superman is an asshole" situation that is resolved when Nakia obviously figures out Kamala is Ms Marvel.

Josh is, well Kamala just kind of keeps running into him, it's not like she seeks him out to help him or anything past that first src. Kamala was also initially partially responsible for ruining his life. She's not responsible for everything that came after, that was Josh going down the incel-fascist pipeline. But she does feel like it's somewhat her fault he ended up going that way.

We see something like this again with Qarin. . . Who tried to kill and replace Kamala and threatened her family at one point. But Kamala in that story obviously feels responsible for what happened.

Qarin calls her a murderer and Kamala doesn't reject this.

Sooraya is more from that writer not knowing what they were doing. I mean, he did. He just shouldn't have. X-Men writers have this thing that's pretty common with white people who write fantastical allegories for discrimination of like "what if the normie black guy is fantasy racist against elves". . . Which didn't even make sense in context of those characters because Kamala has shown to not have a problem with Mutants.

NYX is think is partially two things: The writers despite really liking Kamala can't really write that aspect of her. It might sound a little nick picky, but it's stuff like Kamala saying that Sophie is inherently a good person and "knows" she's not evil, or trying to get through to Julian by saying he used to be a hero (Kamala by now has met many heroes who are still assholes/wrong.) . . . The second is that it feels like they really want to push the Kamala Sophie ship, so the two only really care about the other. I don't think that it'll actually be canon for the same reasons I don't think that Kamala will end up dating Miles. She still has another main series on the way that's still in production and I don't think those writers are interested in either of those ships. That's mostly the Spider-Man/NYX writers self indulging.

But anyways, it's similar to how they wrote Rachel when they paired her off with Betsy. Where it's like all the sudden Rachel is just Betsy number one cheerleader and neither focuses on any other relationship outside of each other, platonic or otherwise. I continue to say this, but it is still hilarious how easy Sophie just instantly betrayed her sisters for Kamala.

So yeah, I understand where you're coming from but I don't read it that way, i think it's just a collection of individual narrative choices made by 4 different writers across multiple series that when you look at them all together have some unfortunate implications.

Semi related: But oh god thank you. I'm so tired of Bruno and I'm partially dreading the new solo because I'm afraid they'll pay off on that romance subplot. Canon wise Red Dagger is like the only ship I'm genuinely invested in.

So, Medusa might be the best heroic mentor Kamala's had? Like, she's kinda the only one that didn't disappoint her or tried to force anything on her, or was too stubborn to listen to her. Medusa's entire approach to inhumans outside of their city is to treat them like her subjects but doesn't expect them to treat her like their queen.

She opens Attilan's borders, allowing non-inhumans to live and work there if they want. She offers Kamala assistance when she needs it but never tries to push her towards her "side", and if anything during IvX listens to her and her friends.

When her powers started to literally melt her body it wasn't the X-Men who showed up to help, (actually it was kind of their fault that it happened in the first place) it was Medusa. And even though the chances of saving her aren't certain, she has such faith in Kamala's strength that she doesn't doubt that she'll pull through.

And I don't know, that's just kind of neat?
