Yuehiro| Identity: trans male | Media: Ronin Novel

Yuehiro is a 14 year old Twi’lek adopted into Lord Hanari’s Jedi clan. Despite all the evil stuff the Jedi of Ronin do, they were supportive of him changing his name and moving into the boy’s dormitory. As a Jedi, he is too curious for his own good and got in trouble attempting to investigate rumors about a Sith demon and disappearing Jedi bodies. He was part of a group of Jedi apprentices rescued by the crew of the Poor Crow when Lord Hanari’s flagship was destroyed, joining them on their journey to the lost planet of the Rei’zu. 

He is tied with Shogo (also from the Ronin novel) for being the first binary trans person in Star Wars.

Qlaern Hirf was a member of the Vratix species, an insectoid species without sex differentiation that invented bacta. They were also a member of the Ashern Circle, a group of militant Vratix who opposed human control of bacta. Qlaern represented the Ashern Circle to the New Republic and the group’s intention to join the new state. They informed Rogue Squadron of the location of deadly bacta aboard a space station. They produced a cure for the Imperial bioweapon Krytos virus for the New Republic.

I could have done something recognisable for May the Fourth, but as always, I instead was compelled to draw Wes Janson with his whole ass out, for a joke that I and maybe three of my friends will understand.

It's honestly one of my favourite things I have ever drawn.

I've been thinking about the scene where Tamlin locks Feyre in the manor before heading out on a mission, claiming it's too dangerous for her because of the creatures Amarantha unleashed on the Spring Court.

Now imagine this: Tamlin is gravely injured during that mission and is bedridden when he returns, only to discover that Feyre is gone. Lucien is left to piece things together and (perhaps?) sends a letter to the Hewn City, asking to speak with Feyre (assuming Rhysand has her "captured").

How do you think Feyre would respond? Would Rhys tell her the truth about Tamlin’s condition, or keep it from her? And if she found out, do you think she'd go back to him? Would this change her perspective on Tamlin locking her in the manor, or even reshape their dynamic entirely?

Oooh that's interesting! In my opinion, I believe that Rhysand may hold this information from her to keep her from going back to Tamlin. Yet at the other hand, I could see him telling Feyre yet maybe tweaking the truth a bit. I could see Feyre holding immense amounts of guilt and see the situation in a different way then probably try and find a way to get back to the spring court. It would definitely put things in perspective and that Tamlin's actions were not to keep her cooped up in the mansion or doing it out of some possessive nature, but to keep her safe from Amarantha's creature. We also would get pretty good character growth for both Tamlin and Feyre too honestly and re-establishing trust with one another! Just to pull a lil bit from Beauty and The Beast, maybe have where Feyre is cleaning Tamlin's wound and tending to him yet Tamlin could be stubborn about it which leads to them having a heart to heart moment by the fire

Garr | Identity: alien nonbinary | Media: Boba Fett: Crossfire

Garr was a young member of the Excargan species, which didn’t have sex differentiation until they were thirteen. Their parents were captured by the Separatists when Excarga was invaded, and the Republic put them on an orphanage transport ship where they met a young Boba Fett. They became Boba’s first friend, who was the only person who didn’t treat them weirdly for being genderless. When they arrived at the orphanage, Aurra Sing appeared and captured both of them. She only spared Garr because Boba Fett said they were his friend, despite then telling Garr they weren’t his friend to get them to leave Boba alone. Instead, Garr went to the Jedi who ran the orphanage and joined them pursuing Boba and Aurra Sing. Aurra almost killed them, but spared them at Boba’s insistence.

I know what it's like to make efforts to stay in touch with my culture and respect my ancestors and that which came before me. At times you feel lost, half yourself, torn, and otherwise unsure of who you are. People guess, and try to make assumptions about you before they want to know and the world can be unkind. I use to be bullied when I was younger because of my family standing out in the community I grew up in but no matter what I tried to stay the course and only in recent years I have found a sense of harmony in all of it.

I created Anya not just a character in a fandom I love; But I want her to be an example and a reminder that, regardless of our origins, we all possess the power to shine brightly. That we can be propelled by the legacy of our ancestors. I myself am a mixed kid (O'odham and Mexican) and hope that it resonates as I write more on how she moves forward to uncover her past and embrace her unique heritage, It can serve as a testament to the resilience and strength that lie within us all.

working on a Kids on Brooms/Never Stop Making Magic hack for Star Wars-esque starfighter pilots

Concepts I'm playing with:

players select a fighter type for their pilot (frontline, bomber, scout, smuggler are the types I'm currently running with); pilots need not all fly the same type, for a potential "party balance" mix a la Alphabet Squadron, the Squadrons video game, or the old TIE Fighter/X-wing games where your ship differed by mission

pilots are better in their fighters than out of them - most of your boosts to your skills come from your fighter type (though it is still the pilot's own skill reflected in which stat belongs to which dice)

the dark side is tempting, powerful, and isolating - using the Force (or like...Cosmic Will or whatever) is possible, a la Never Stop Making Magic's magic die, and using the dark side is a straight-up power boost; however, you have to manage a separate stress track for dark side use and you might eventually find yourself unable to NOT use it...and you might find it corrupting you to the extent that you get less and less effective at helping your comrades or receiving help from them

You Have My Attention: X-Wing Series First Lines

In the many, many series that comprise the Star Wars EU (the Legends Canon since Disney decanonized it in 2014), the X-Wing series is an interesting case because it is fairly cleanly bifurcated between two X-wing squadrons and two authors, and yet the series as a whole--and the characters who cross over between authors--feel remarkably consistent. That's a feat in and of itself, as anyone who has read over the shift from Robert Jordan to Brandon Sanderson in the Wheel of Time can attest.

My clear preference is for Aaron Allston's writing style and the Wrait Squadron missions, but I know readers who dearly love Stackploe's Rogue Squadron as well. So let's take a look at how these authors grab readers with their first lines!
