“Like a roaring star, he thundered down the long shoot, and Manon moved with him, meeting each gallop of his powerful body, each step in time with the beat of the wyverns locked in the belly of the mountain. Abraxos flapped his wings open, pounding them once, twice, gathering speed, fearless, unrelenting, ready…
Fast as lightning arcing across the sky, he plummeted toward the Gap floor…
Down into hell, into eternity, into that world where, for a moment, she could have sworn that something tightened in her chest. She did not shut her eyes, not as the moon-illuminated stones of the Gap became closer, clearer. She did not need to. Like the sails of a mighty ship, Abraxos’s wings unfurled, snapping tight. He tilted them upward, pulling against the death trying to drag them down. And it was those wings, covered in glimmering patches of Spidersilk, that stayed strong and sturdy, sending them soaring clean up the side of the Omega and into the starry sky beyond.”

✨- And who will pay the price? -✨
Meleys tribute piece inspired by the conversation between Rhaenyra and Mysaria in S2 ep 08. Because Meleys already paid that price.
I wanted to make something more abstract and tapestry-inspired, I hope you like it.

I finished this last weekend, but I held off sharing because I didn't want her to overshadow my shop update and bags that I've been aggressively posting!
BUT HERE SHE IS: Meleys, The Red Queen! In yarn!
Pattern by Megan Lapp of Crafty Intentions - "Large Wyvern" available here.
The 'Large' is no joke! I'm sorry I didn't include anything for scale in my pictures (unless you count the leaves). If I stretch her wings out, her wing span is over 3'. She took almost three 7 oz skeins of worsted yarn and I used an awful lot of 2mm armature wire. I should have used 3mm for some parts (elbows and legs) because I ended up having to quadruple (or more) the wire in places to support the weight of the yarn. Instead of the single ridge of back spikes down the neck and back in the pattern, I decided to give her a smooth back and two shorter spike ridges just on her neck. I thought about a third ridge but decided against it. Her eyes are white, which I thought looked good with the red.
In my mind, she is a simplified yarn interpretation of (show) Meleys. (Book) Meleys had pink wing membranes. I wanted to use this bright af red and there isn't a pink that looked good with it imo, so solid red!
I'd really like to make a second one in pink ombre yarn maybe with some black. Yeah, I want to make Morning, if you're a nerd and have read Fire and Blood. This took forever though and I can't in good conscience make another one for myself just yet because I have to work on making things for other people for money.
Can you commission one of these from me? Yes, you can. But it will not be cheap. This pattern is not something to be trifled with. It's a lot of yarn and A LOT of time - at least a week of solid work, and I'm talking 8-10 hour days. I will not do one of these for you for less than $700. Seriously. If you're interested, I'm willing to make little customizations too like if you want fin details instead of spikes down the back and at the tail tip (e.g. Seasmoke) - this will cost more. Black will also cost more. Message me on Facebook for commissions.
I would love love love to make Sunfyre for someone in yellow-gold with pink wings...just sayin.

Manon x Abraxos
“Each of the scars, the chipped teeth and broken claws, the mutilated tail—they weren’t the markings of a victim. Oh, no. They were the trophies of a survivor. Abraxos was a warrior who’d had all the odds stacked against him and survived. Learned from it. Triumphed.”

His phone made a soft buzzing which actually startled him to some degree! as he nearly slipped off that fluffy couch! He placed a hand on his forehead and sighed, his paranoia never got any better. Sliding down to the floor and making his way across the room, he was reminded that this place was just not made with mobians in mind.
Picking up the phone he flicked his thumb half expecting more spam texts, it was really never ending. But rather it was a message from Serene? that he didn't expect well not so soon. But it did make him smile fondly. He touched his chin in thought, this could be a boon but one step at a time he reminded himself.
DrippyFox: Hello, it's nice to hear from you.
DrippyFox: Really? That's Excellent!
DrippyFox: I do look forward to seeing you again
DrippyFox: and to meeting this Master of yours
DrippyFox: Just give me a date and time
DrippyFox: Oh and perhaps work out travel arrangements...
Yes Travel arrangements would be important, he didn't really want to bug Carol. Though she did have that spare Gem? Would it be wrong of him to swipe it and attempt to use it? Or perhaps he could simply ask Carol? though she was not his friend. Maybe Serene had a way to travel between worlds? or perhaps Baphomet could be of assistance? Surge and she were good friends, so perhaps he could request assistance.
" This could be the solution surge and i need... but one step at a time..."
